Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the beautiful views, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. However, there are consistent complaints about the high prices, poor maintenance, and slow service.
- Beautiful views from the rooms
- Spacious and clean rooms
- High prices for parking, food, and other services
- Poor maintenance and slow service

Beautiful, classic resort. Check in confusing and resort fee, towel card thing confusing. I should of read this- 'top rated family resort'- so many many children- crowded. Better options for solo travelers. Pool staff and food service staff very friendly, good. Check out- again confusing- bill was wrong- overcharged. Didn't seem like it was any big deal to front office staff- big deal to me.

Family oriented and beautifully maintained Self parking not easily available.

Me and my husband really enjoy the stay.. it was very nice and peacefull
- 5/5
Our stay was short, but wonderful while we were there. The resort smells so fresh. Beach was unusable due to seaweed, but towel and food/drink service at the pool was excellent (although pricy!).
- 4/5
We stayed for four nights and overall had a good stay. I would say this is a good value for the price and very kid friendly. The pool/beach service was good. I will say that our experiences with staff were very polarizing - either excellent or mediocre. Aspects of the building and room needed updating and the elevators took several minutes to call. Additionally, the stuffed pelican in each room appeared to be a gift, but was an added charge. Overall ok
- 5/5
I loved the balcony and the beach service The price of the restaurant
- 4/5
Rooms were spacious. One elevator was out of service. The pictures make it look better than it is; hotel needs a little TLC - appears a bit run down. Shuttle to restaurants was helpful.
- 5/5
Excellent beachfront hotel! Perfect for our family traveling with young kids and grandparents! We stayed for one night before boarding a cruise the following day. We had a wonderful time
- 5/5
Everyone there was super friendly and helpful loved the location as well
- 5/5
One of the biggest highlights was the food and drink service on the beach—a total game changer! We travel a lot and usually encounter great service, but the staff here truly went above and beyond. We did have a few minor mishaps during our stay, but everything was resolved quickly at checkout. The only downsides were that the lazy river is smaller than it appears in photos, and the main pool is a bit small for the size of the resort. Overall, the drinks were delicious, the food was great, and we had an amazing time. I’d definitely come back!

Everything Perfect location. Staff wonderful!
- 5/5
Great position for watching the Ft. Lauderdale Airshow. The hotel is aging but still well maintained. Plenty of power stripe in the room so that you don't need to worry about charging your devices, just bring enough charging cables / adaptors (No USB-C port, but with USB-A port on the wall, max 2A) . Stayed in an Ocean Front Suite at the 2nd floor. Outside the room is a shared platform connects all the rooms. Rooms from 3 floor and above have separated balconies. For the airshow, the best place to watch is the private beach of the hotel, because on this 2nd floor platform your view will be distracted by those palm trees in front. So, maybe next time, we can choose 3rd or 4th floor rooms.

Special thank you to Mark (bartender), Cameron, and Trevor (poolside), great service!
- 5/5
beach view is very good, your right there, walk out the back of the resort onto there private beach area. Break fast was very good. plenty of choices. never had to ask for a refill of coffee.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Great resort, well kept, and amenities abound. Since the sargassum belt (seaweed) reached the shores of this resort, they had a tractor remove it. We noticed many other resorts do not. Top notch property, can't wait to return.
- 5/5
Can't say enough good things about this beachfront hotel. From the porch overlooking the ocean, the spacious, comfortable rooms, and the excellent food options ranging from poolside to table service!! One of our favorites and the staff is so nice and helpful, from the front desk, pool attendants, wait staff and bell services!! Can't wait to stay again
- 5/5
This is one of the best resorts in Florida.
- 4/5
The room was very spacious and well kept. We did have issues with the cleanliness at the restaurant- multiple times served with dirty glasses or cutlery. Dining and drinks were very pricey on the resort and nothing spectacular. The hotel and location was great but would dine elsewhere.
- 4/5
Excellent location. Amazing staff and yummy food and drinks! Seagrass was horrendous though. Pillows were uncomfortable. Didn’t like the no shower door.
- 4/5
The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable. The view was lovely. The housekeeping and hotel staff from parking attendants, to bag check, front desk, restaurants, cafe staff, towel and pool attendants - outstanding. A special shout to the beach staff especially - Cameron and Luis. They were so helpful and attentive. I travel all over the world, I rarely encounter great service, it was so refreshing to experience people that care.
- 5/5
Location was right on the beach. It was beautiful with a southern vibe. Love the spa, loved the restaurant (it had the best food we ate the whole trip) loved the drink and food service on the beach. Loved everything about it but if there was small negative it would be you had to uber to everything. Nothing was in walking distance

Had a relaxing and truly restful stay at Pelican Grand Hotel. The oceanfront King Suite was spacious, very comfortable, and offered stunning views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean. The onsite restaurants were both convenient and delicious, which made the stay even better. Overall, an amazing vibe and a wonderful place to unwind. Would absolutely stay here again!

Ocean front The hotel is in need of maintenance starting with paint. I had mold over my head in the restaurant from the air vent, one of the air vents was about to fall out in the middle of the room. My balcony was in need of repair and paint. It had a chip about 6" long of missing and there was mold and rust showing on the banister of the balcony. The door leading out to the balcony was so squeaky we just propped it open to avoid the noise every time we walked out. The room was a studio when I paid $700.00 for a one bedroom. There was no kitchen as I purchased. The valet parking attendant lied to me and my friend asked the same question and got exactly what I was asking for. There was NO PHONE SERVICE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE of the hotel so I missed meeting up with friends for dinner and breakfast. I will not ever stay here again.

Great view of the ocean. Room very spacious.

Staff was amazing from check in to pool staff to bartender they were all amazing. So friendly. Loved the lazy river and pool service. Room was upgraded at a very reasonable price. We will be back for sure.
- 4/5
Love the resort layout , the building was easy to navigate, had a bar with food at one end and a restaurant at the other with a beach front patio that connected the two areas. Perfect for families and seniors. Love that almost all staff was super friendly. Loved the direct beach access. The pool was not too busy even on a holiday weekend. The property included a few events like bingo, snow cones and other games on the beach. The patio had live music. The ice-cream store was a nice touch or bonus including muffins and bagels etc. the location was perfectly far away from the main strip chaos. Close enough to visit and far enough away to feel like a quiet escape. I enjoyed how close we were to the local state park as well. The pool service was amazing! Accommodations made for my handicapped mom and Asd son daily ! The room was perfect loved the beds the high ceilings and large bath area. The furniture was a little dated and worn but didn’t impact out stay. I loved the roof top terrace on the 11th floor- is you stay go see the priceless views ! A local told me about it. Loved taking the ride with my teens on the sea Bob- what a unique and fun experience! It was great to have a property that accommodated my senior mom with a walker as well as my active teens! The front desk check in was a huge turn off. No details on the property, like pulling teeth to get answers. No literature or map available for what the property had to offer. The questions I asked were answered with bare minimal responses and the employee seemed not cut for the job. When communication is minimal and literature is non existent this was a bad start to the stay. I would like to have had a small tangible document that told us more about the property. I would have liked the option to have or not have our room stocked with junk food and alcohol. When we arrived we had minimal space for our own items ( small refrigerator) and when asked to remove the 15 plus bottles or cans of alcohol, and junk food I was told there would be a $75 fee to do so. This too was a turn off. I now needed to monitor my children and the resorts junk food and alcohol ! Not interested in spending the $ on kid impulses and a more important access to alcohol. The communication was done well through texting for the most part. But that human component and with clear communication can not be replaced by technology. The face of the resort is the front desk and check in process and this resort did not have it for me for being a $500 plus a night property. The hospitality of the rest of the employees seemed to be wonderful. Especially the kitchen chef , food runners and pool staff!

All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Don't forget to check out the Gelato!
- 4.5/5
The hotel exceeded our expectations with regards to staff, location , facilities and overall quality. Our only disappointment was the restaurant which is over priced and the food quality isn’t on par with the quality of the hotel. An area for the hotel to focus on. However, I would recommend this hotel as a terrific place to stay at a reasonable cost. The restaurant.
- 4/5
Over time, we dine there less and less. Prices are high, and the quality of the food doesn't support the price. One thing I noticed on this trip was tighter control on towels and pool area seats. I asked for that because last year it seemed like a third to half of people occupying pool area seats were not staying at the hotel. They bragged and laughed about it. This time, the paying guests and their families could get seats this time. I appreciate the actions taken. Less positive - improved elevator service has been promised for at least 4 years. One guest elevator was out of service for our entire, 4 night stay. I have to give that a "Really?" Notes for first time guests - When adjusting lights and fans, it's not you. I think that's how those appliances are configured in Scandanavia. Also, consider using bath clogs. The walls, flooring, and soaps in the guest room bathrooms are a recipe for a cracked skull. Love the place. Will come back.
- 5/5
Beach view amazing
- 3/5
We had the Ocean view 2 king room which was very roomy and well appointed. Location is great and view. Beach amenities are nice. What could be improved that was very inconvenient was the broken down elevator - wait times super long for each ride up/down. Valet parking was a mess - long wait, valet brought us the wrong car etc. Hotel mgr made it right for us, but when you charge $60 a day for parking - this needs to be spot on and fast. Elevators are a must and need to be in working order or swiftly fixed.
- 4/5
Could be a lot better
- 5/5
I love the comfortable beds, beautiful ocean views, and the courtesy lawn chair and umbrella set up on the beach. I didn’t like the rooms not having a microwave and the ice machines on the odd floors. The elevator went out so the wait times for an elevator was longer than usual.

This is a decent hotel in a great location on the water in Fort Lauderdale Beach. But, to call it a resort is going a bit too far. We have come to associate a resort to have a plethora of activities, restaurant options and personnel that goes out of their way to make feel comfortable during your stay. We never had that feeling from arrival to departure. To be fair, the room was great but the service was just so-so. We had to wait for someone to take the car for valet as the attendants were goofing off. At $60/night, I would expect more. We made reservations in their one and only restaurant and went down early that afternnon to remind them it was our 50th wedding anniversary besides being Mothers day, and requested the best seat outside. The receptionist very sternly reminded us it could not be guaranteed, reciting company policy which was first come first served. Even though we were an hour away I accepted it; OK, it just wasnt very friendly communication. She could have been a little more understanding or accomodating, such as: "Wow, that's wonderful, can't gurantee it, but let me see what I can do".

Justva beautiful clean property
- 5/5
I had stayed here before and wanted to stay again. While the deal stay was great some staff were not as friendly. I thought it had gone down in service from the last time I was there.
- 5/5
Fantastic experience. Clean and well maintained. For picky travelers, there was only one working elevator so wait times could be long, and they definitely needed more wait staff at the beach (only one server for the entire strip). All in all- a great experience, and will definitely return.

Everything Nothing
- 4/5
Room, view, $60 parking fee is robbery. No umbrellas for shade on porch for breakfast. Only one Elevator working!!! Front desk clerk messed up my room telling me it was "released" at 4:30 pm. She obviously needs lots more training. Management straightened out the issue, but it was a frustrating check in process.

Stayed at the Pelican in their King Ocean view room (304). The view was absolutely spectacular and our patio facing the pool was super cute! First night we ordered room service from ocean 2000(restaurant on site) and it arrived quickly and still piping hot! My husband and I had a great time here and will definitely be coming back!
- 4/5
Always a wonderful stay and location….. tell no one;) Although they have been working on their elevators for years, and always seemed surprised by their own menu changes, - this is a must stay place. We like it and seem to stay multiple times each year.
- 5/5
I love the beach view!

There was a cockroach the size of a toddlers foot running through my room!

We had a wonderful vacation. The waiter was incredibly friendly and the beach experience was lovely. The pool was heated which was a welcome surprise for the chilly days we had!

Beautiful property with excellent staff!

- 5/5
this place is great staff is nice make sure to tip the staff they work extremely hard and it makes everyone happier!!! the waiter on the beach John is a blessing the rooms are nice and clean and they like to accommodate. The elevator was broken for three days which i feel should never be the case for an exclusive hotel. The showers on the beach entrance were also broken. The lazy river is a plus and the beach food is really good.
- 3/5
The Pelican Grand has a lovely ocean front view. In spite of that, we had several issues with our keys, elevators not working, water control in the shower broken and a very uncomfortable sofa bed in our suite. The beach, bar, and pool staff were all very accommodating. There is no coffee provided in the morning, the gift shop and the restaurant do not open until 7 AM for you to purchase coffee. The gift shop has one woman working a very busy counter as many want their coffee by then. There are many oceanfront properties in Fort Lauderdale that provide better amenities for the same, if not lower cost.

I want to shout Emily the concierge, who is amazing. She decorated our room for a baby shower trip. My wife's was left speechless. Thank you Emily for being super awesome and for giving us life long memories. You are the best
- 2/5
For the price of this hotel and the insane charges, the valet parking fee, the resort fees and the mandatory 22% gratuity, this resort should be stunning. Instead, our room was unrenovated (unlike the Expedia room pictures), the property was dated- peeling paint, mold everywhere you looked, electricity sockets hanging out of walls, broken lights, dingy elevators and dirty, salty windows everywhere. We checked in Thursday and the elevator (1 of 2) was broken the whole time for four days/nights. Wait times were 10-15 min for elevators and frequently they were too full to get in. I travel a lot and can confidently say this hotel is resting on past laurels. Staff were very nice, the wine list is superb and the food is great. Just be prepared to not have the old adage, you get what you pay for, fulfilled.
- 3/5
Beach is beautiful and the guy who serves the beach drinks/food was the best, pool is pretty nice. For people with kids and strollers it really isn’t the most accommodating with moving around the resort. No space to walk with strollers to from pool or beach.
- 3/5
Rooms were nice but staff not helpful the main restaurant was really expensive and the bar/lounge was so small no seating to accommodate everyone. The towels were only at the pool and it was really an issue getting them with the cards to beach when you have multiple kids in separate rooms. Lots and lots and lots of seaweed on beach!!
- 5/5
Amazing property with wonderful location. We stayed in a gorgeous ocean front room that was perfect for our stay. The historic feeling hotel is modern in all of the right way's. . Beautiful bathrooms and comfortable beds. The best part was the balcony overlooking the ocean. Staff was great from check in to check out . Can not speak highly enough but about our experience!

Clean and spacious room. 2nd floor has a common balcony overlooking the ocean. It’s the best floor in my opinion. Staff was very nice. I have zero complaints.
- 5/5
Beautiful property was very impressed with the extra care the employees give to guests. Our only complaint is that the air doesn't get any colder than 70
- 5/5
Staff - food - beach - pool
- 2/5
Needs to be remodeled and painted. Shower is old. For the money it's not worth it. First day house keeping took all my towels without replacing. When i went to front desk, the lady was taking a reservation answering all the questions to someone on the phone and completely ignoring me standing there for 10 minutes. Even an eye contact and saying one minute would have been enough.
- 5/5
The pelican is a boutique hotel right on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale. The suite we stayed in was really nice and spacious. I didn’t like the bathroom shower. It’s a partition glass and they tied up the handheld shower so it makes it difficult to shower. The staff is very friendly and their restaurant is quite good.
- 3/5
Still needs renovation and restaurant service and condition is not good
- 4/5
Very nice hotel and pleasant staff. The waiters were top notch but I can’t say the same for the food. I wasn’t impressed at all. They also charge a 22% hospitality charge for the restaurant but as the waiters make sure to point out, only16% goes to them. They also hit you with a $67 resort fee for the night and another $60 for valet. Bring cash for tips because the hotel is cashless so good luck getting change.

- 1/5
the room is outdated, not clean, dirty sheets.. horrible! overated
- 3/5
The pool area is way too small for the resort. It felt very crowded. We had to put our name on a list to get a chair at the pool. Service at the pool was quite slow. The rooms were tired. Nice views. Location not very walkable. This hotel thinks it's fancy but it is not.

Gorgeous
- 4/5
Great little store on property for ice cream snacks and helpful selection of stuff you might have forgotten! But disappointed with food in main restaurant Bar food and service much better
- 4/5
This place is great!!! Lounge furniture could definitely be replaced but it’s great for everything else. Restaurant is also a little pricey.
- 4/5
Would wish they have microwaves in the rooms especially for families with younger kids who need to warm up milk? Made no sense to pay that much for a room and not have a microwave. The Ocean restaurant is insanely expensive for the food rating it has. Pool and lazy river were nice to have but crowded at times. Get your pool and beach chairs earlier in the day. If you arrive before check in, you’re welcome to use amenities but they don’t tell you they may not have chairs available so you’re displaced until your room is ready. Overall 4/5 experience for the area.
- 5/5
The staff was too notch especially pool side server Gidoana she is the sweetest and most hard working person. She made us feel like royalty and make the Grand Beach Resort 110%. She went over and above !
- 5/5
Fantastic all around
- 5/5
Poolside service was quick and the servers were actually attentive, not just disappearing for long stretches. The lazy river and pool were super relaxing and get good sun all day, which was perfect. Rooms were clean, no complaints there. Also random but the coconut mango body wash/shampoo/conditioner/lotion they give you smells really good. Beach was really nice and clean too, and there were plenty of chairs so you didn’t have to stress about finding a spot. Would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Loved the property but the price of Massages and 22% gratuity was a bit much especially when the services at dinner/lunch did not match the expectations.
- 4/5
Spa was overpriced and not that great. Hotel needs an upgrade. Gratuity is included at the restaurant so wait staff was not hospitable or making any effort. The lazy river and the kindly ocean view balcony suite were the highlight of the resort.
- 2/5
We were not given full and detailed instructions by the check in clerk. This led to confusion throughout our stay. We were 'upgraded' to a suite which was hideous. I had never been upgraded before, so I wasn't sure what to do. The room had not been updated since probably the early nineties. Gross modern furniture and banged up dresser and doors. The bathroom was old and shower area was impractical. (no shelf for soap, no towel bar or hook even in the same room as shower. Also, no cold water to refresh after a hot day on the beach. One of the sink faucets were broken... Not my idea of an upgrade at all! I was in the room next door to us, as well as a room on another floor. They were both updated with nice wood furniture and beautiful bathrooms, coat racks, and all around newer, lovely rooms. Also. Valet staff had some bad eggs.. Didn't open door for passenger, and didn't help us load bags when we were departing.... John from beach service was a rock star and the friendliest employee there!
- 4/5
Friendly and accommodating staff. Had I not noticed a few extra amenities on the website (shuttle/water taxi ticket), they wouldn't have told us about them. Pool and beach were great. Food was expensive but tasty.
- 5/5
We were able to enjoy property amenities prior to check-in. Beautiful historical hotel with excellent restaurant where we ate breakfast & dinner. Nice bar lounge off pool area. Zero entrance pool & lazy river with ample loungers & umbrellas. Resort fee included beach chairs & umbrellas steps from hotel veranda. I was most impressed with the excellent service provided by front desk, housekeeping, pool & beach attendants. I definitely will stay again when I visit Fort Lauderdale.
- 5/5
Great vacation. Great pool area with great drinks and food at every restaraunt/lounge where food is offered. Great staff all together and great size rooms, Will definitely be back
- 5/5
Premier location on Ft Lauderdale beach. The best destination if you have children due to relaxed environment, pool, lazy river, and stunning views.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful! The beach and pool were wonderful. Only issue was the hotel and room was showing some wear and the room had a bit of a stale smell.
- 3/5
Expensive for room and hotel quality. Amazing location
- 5/5
The food was excellent and the room was very nice.
- 2/5
The elevator is terrible… apparently the staff use the same ones (only 2 for 11 floors) so there was ALWAYS a long wait. Tried to go to the “concierge” to find excursions and all we got was “well you should just do this one because I get a commission”… ya, not happening. There is also nothing in walking distance and any “snacks” you need are priced through the roof. Although I say all this negative stuff… please know that I let a lot of things slide but there were just too many. Resort itself was very nice and we were pleased with our room in general
- 5/5
Place is beautiful! Awesome room and view of ocean and beach. Great pool area. Good food. Staff was super friendly. Wish they didn't keep the inside so cold.
- 4/5
The hotel’s beachfront location is excellent—definitely one of its strongest features. The food was very good, with generous portions (though on the expensive side), and we especially enjoyed the lattes and drinks at the ocean bar. The spa and ladies there were very nice but on the expensive side. The staff was a highlight of our stay. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was friendly, attentive, and eager to help with anything we needed. Unfortunately, the property itself did not meet expectations—especially for the price. The pool is much smaller than it appears in the hotel’s photos. More concerning was the cleanliness of the room: the couch was stained and dirty, and the floors were not clean upon arrival. For a stay that cost approximately $1,000 per night (including valet, taxes, and fees) for a 2 King Bed Oceanfront room, the condition of the furniture and overall room cleanliness was unacceptable. To their credit, management did offer to waive the daily hotel fee and taxes, but that did not feel like sufficient compensation given the issues. Based on our experience, I would rate this hotel as a 3-star property. With its prime location, it has great potential—but until improvements are made to cleanliness and upkeep, the rates should be significantly lower.

Highly recommended this beachfront hotel..
- 5/5
Enjoyed my two night stay. Had a beautiful room looking out at the ocean. Hotel staff very kind and helpful. Hotel room clean. Has everything we needed. Enjoyed our meals and drinks. Love the shuttle service.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff
- 2/5
staff! Ugh we were so disappointed ... we were excited to return but it was a bummer. front desk did great I had to upgrade bc we had an additional guest but they gave some perks to offset cost bc i am a gold member. the beach guy was horrible - the towel olicy so tacky and the beach guy wouldnt get our towels but he got everyone around us theirs I shouldnt have tipped him but ... I will not be ging back there they took a 5 star memory and turned it into 2 stars... bummer.
- 5/5
Great room with a separate living room and balcony. Great restaurant with excellent food. Pool is fantastic with a lazy river and tubes to float along. You walk right onto the beach. Perfect place and we stay here every year.
- 5/5
Beautiful resort. So peaceful
- 2/5
The staff were lovely and the hotel was pretty to look at. However, they falsely advertised that they had a pool bar. The main reason we chose the hotel that we did was because we were going on spring break, and wanted to be able to utilize a bar at the pool. Furthermore, there was no microwave or laundry facilities on property at all. We also thought that the lazy river and pool would be bigger, the overhead images online make the pool area look like a waterpark. We also had a waiter that called us “extra” rudely for wanting flavor in our iced coffee. If they just change their advertising on Expedia so people don’t feel ripped off, I feel like this would have been a better rating.
- 5/5
Elevators went out
- 5/5
The beach view was perfection. We watched the sunrise in all of its glory and the wedding and reception spaces were exceptional.
- 5/5
Beautiful experience. The room had an electrical issue. Could not use tv or coffee maker. Otherwise, excellent!!
- 4/5
It is a nice place but expensive (compared to comparable beach resorts). The parking alone is $70.00 a night for a truck and there is a resort fee of roughly $50.00 per day. Evian water bottles in room have $4.00 signs and a larger glass water bottle goes for $7.00. Just felt i was nickel and dimed for everything.
- 5/5
Lazy river wonderful and heated. Beautiful beachfront property. Wish we were here longer
- 4/5
We were on the second floor with a lanai and an awesome view of the ocean the room was mostly clean (rating a number 4 for a bit of dust on cabinets and wrappers on floor).. But the bathroom didn't have a shower door and just a sliding barn door to the bathroom that didn't lock was kind of strange when someone was taking a shower and anybody could walk in; sometimes housekeeping would just come in while someone in there. Also, it wasn't clear if we could use the pump hand soap and shampoo, etc as they were price $22 if we were to take them, but some of the bottles started out 1/2 full. We wish they had in-house laundry since we were there for 5 days. Nice to have room service but all the breakfast items like waffles and eggs benedict were too sour for both me and my son. The pool & lazy river were smaller but great and warm (seemed to be saltwater)
- 3/5
The staff were amazing but there was construction during our stay and we did not have our room cleaned or serviced during our stay even after requesting it. Not impressed for how much we paid to stay there.
- 1/5
Very bad service
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
Amazing!!!
- 5/5
For our VIP upgrade they put us in a suite on the top floor. Awesome room with spectacular views.
- 3/5
Never checked in
- 4/5
Resort was clean, very nice and staff were all excellent. We had breakfast and dinner there both were very good and fairly reasonable. Our only complaint was that they charge a resort fee which adds up to almost $60 dollars a day. (I think a lot of resorts do this nowadays), but my wife wife and I never used ANY of the “resort” features, so basically paid almost $200 for nothing. They also add on a 22% tip fee to every bill. I usually tip that much but being forced to do it didn’t sit well especially since at one of the breakfasts service was not good due I think to lack of staff. Other than those items, the Pelican was a great place to stay.
- 5/5
Hotel exceeded my expectations. Received a room upgrade to lovely very clean ocean front suite. Front desk staff was very professional with an excellent personal touch. The beach attendants were amazing. The privacy of the beach and first class accommodation made for a pleasant and comfortable experience. Dining was nice. My only wish was more offerings of fresh seafood but what was available was very good. Enjoyed my stay and will be making plans to return.
- 3/5
The elevators weren’t working, we were charged $26.00 for stuff in the room that we did not eat or drink, the hotel food was okay. Overall, we thought it was a bit overpriced for the product that we received.
- 5/5
My room was adorable. Staff was so nice. A great stay.
- 2/5
Considering we spent well over $1,200 for 1 night, it was a disappointing experience.
- 5/5
I always rate based on cleanliness, and the room was immaculate.
- 2/5
The spa service was lovely; the spa itself, like the guest rooms, is poorly maintained. The food was solid and the staff is friendly. But the one towel per guest card policy is just cheesy and an insult to customers paying these room rates for location alone. I won’t trust Expedia reviews again. Do better Noble House.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing! Very helpful.
- 5/5
Great rooms. Great staff
- 1/5
Only 1 elevator was working…..
- 1/5
Room was very run down bathroom especially needs updates. Everything is extremely slow. Ran out of bath towels day two. Food all tasted like it was microwaved. Prices way too high.
- 5/5
Pelican grand beach resort was a beautiful place to stay for our beach vacation!! Staff were very friendly!! Room was very clean!! Loved that we were right on the beach. This place is gorgeous and we plan on coming back again!!
- 3/5
There was also only one working elevator, and it didn’t stop at our floor.
- 5/5
a beautiful hotel, with southern charm, gorgeous rooms great location on the beach. would definitely recommend and return.
- 5/5
Staff was over the top friendly and accommodating, in the best way. Food and drinks were great, and the beach access was unmatched. Loved the Sunday brunch, and the gelato shop was toooo good. This was the perfect babymoon and we can’t wait to come back again someday with our little one!
- 4/5
The staff and service was excellent, as was the food provided. Location is very good and beach and views first rate. Some small issues like room phone not working, room not being cleaned all resolved quickly, but unnecessary hassle involved.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome kindly thing wished we had was a better coffee maker and microwave other than that it was a awesome place for our getaway.
- 5/5
Had a beautiful stay here before a Disney cruise. The ocean view rooms are true ocean views. My kids were amazed and woke up to watch the sunrise every day. The hotel staff was kind and welcoming and it was very relaxing.

Clean, beautiful location and hotel

Only small suggestion price of buffet is high especially when you have more then two people
- 5/5
Great hotel, amazing view and really nice staff. The room is huge and extremely comfortable
- 5/5
Views are amazing. Room layout is great
- 5/5
All was great
- 5/5
Large room, wonderful ocean front room. Clean
- 5/5
I stood on the 8th flr. overlooking the Beach.
- 2/5
Room was dirty and falling apart
- 5/5
Loved it here. Great views. Nice rooms. Clean and spacious. Beach was quiet. Enjoyed the restaurant. Can’t wait to return
- 5/5
Everything is very good
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 4/5
Staff was great, view was amazing. Only problem was the elevator. It was so slow and even broke down during our stay.
- 4/5
clean room.
- 4/5
Good location
- 3/5
It’s an older hotel. Definitely wouldn’t call it a VIP hotel. The room was spot cleaned not deep cleaned. For example, the glass nightstand was dust free but the glass had food or drink spots on it. The bathroom faucets had soap scum and the shower had water marks on the tile. Didn't look like the shower walls were cleaned from the last person. It is also near nothing within walking distance.
- 5/5
Our room overlooked the ocean and it was absolutely beautiful as was the room.
- 3/5
The room needs an update…
- 5/5
Amazing hotel!
- 5/5
I don't usually stay at a resort like this but wow it was nice a little pricey but sometimes you just got to do that
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
The staff was very responsive and polite. Very beautiful location.
- 4/5
The biggest negative was the inconsistency in service by staff throughout the resort whether it was food/beverage service, housekeeping or front desk. More times we found things were done very slowly, forgotten about and sometimes unhelpful. Some staff were top-notch and helped make the stay enjoyable!
- 5/5
Returning customer. Always a great stay at the Pelican!
- 1/5
We are locals and stayed there to enjoy a NYE Eve celebration close to the hotel. The first night, Dec 30th, our fan creaked so loud we couldn’t sleep. The next morning, we the door was paper thin, we heard nonstop screaming and running. We ordered breakfast to our room (omelette with ham/swiss/egg) and wheat toast. What arrived was a burnt omelette with bacon and cheddar and rye toast. When I asked to speak with a manager (the manager on duty Dec 31 at 11 am) she told me I probably ordered the wrong thing! HUH!? When the correct order came, it was freezing cold and the toast was uncooked and was the butt of the bread. Next, my little daughter got into the shower and when I went in to check the temp, the shower was covered in dirt and at least 8 pieces of men’s hair. I quickly wiped the disgusting stuff up so my daughter wouldn’t be exposed and put it into a glass. I called to the manager on duty again and sent her an email with the video and photos. She was completely unapologetic and my husband walked down the glass of hair and filth and she still couldn’t care less. When we got back from dinner that night, I called to see if we could check out at 1 pm Jan 1 (only 2 hours later) since we barely slept the night night before bc of the fan and noise, horrible man child on duty, hung up on me and called me a liar to my face when I came to front desk. NEVER AGAIN.
- 5/5
Wonderful location and very friendly staff. They have their own beach with chairs, umbrellas and food service. Also great for families is the lazy river and family pool.

- 5/5
Our past stay we had an ocean view room. We decided on Oceanside room this time. It was sorely misrepresented on the web site and disappointing and the door to the balcony was difficult to open. We’re planning a spring trip for a bit longer stay.
- 4/5
Amazing food at all the dining locations, beautifully decorated for Christmas, I would highly recommend.
- 5/5
The room was perfect, loved the amenities, and food options were so good. When we cruise out of Ft Lauderdale again, we will stay at the Pelican again.
- 3/5
Food was just okay, resort fee $57 a day, no parking, valet only $60 a day! Hot water tank gas leak in our room, nice hotel but very rough area surrounding it.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful. Clean and well maintained.
- 5/5
The place is beautiful, right on the ocean and very family friendly!
- 5/5
Professional, extremely competent and very friendly staff. The view of the ocean from our patio was amazing. I wish I was better at remembering names but everyone from the front desk, the concierge, the beach, pool and towel staff along with all the servers and house keepers all deserve my highest praise. They are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food and drinks were excellent all week long. My wife and I are looking forward to returning soon. Thanks Pelican Grand for a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Beach access was super convenient and having a pool with lazy river was a bonus for the kids
- 5/5
Perfect view of the beach where we were able to see the sunrise
- 5/5
Absolutely gorgeous love the staff. The room was amazing.Definitely would use it again if I ever go back to florida
- 3/5
Not the level of service you normally receive in the US
- 5/5
The staffing is super nice. The room is very spacious and comfortable. It has direct access to the beach.
- 5/5
Beautiful location! Excellent service. Loved our stay.
- 3/5
The nickel and diming on every little thing was a conplete turn off. I used to stay here every time i sailed out of either Ft Lauderdale or Miami. This was the last tim i will
- 5/5
Great room and location
- 5/5
Yes the room was great and we received exceptional service from Peter pershelpPeterPeterthe
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our week getaway from the cold and snow. Highlights were the beach staff (Alec and John) that were fun and attentive. The food and alcohol is more expensive (added 22%) but it's worth it to stay on the beach and eat lunch or drink a cocktail. We explored via Uber and also the free hotel transportation and discovered a few places that delighted us (Zito's Italian). Shout out to Olisha at the front desk who greeted us at check in and was so helpful throughout our stay, including check out. The two different concierge people were the best and gave us detailed advice. The lobby and main floor were wonderfully decorated for Xmas. We also enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the sunrise. Thanks for the chance to recuperate from our busy lives.
- 5/5
Beautiful room, warm, wonderful staff . The restaurant service & food excellent
- 5/5
Room was quite nice.
- 4/5
Staff was nice. Room was spacious. Very clean. Definitely had room to spread out. The on site food was mediocre.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and amazing location. The rooms were spacious, clean and beds were comfortable. The beach was so nice and the pool was great for our kids. Would definitely want to stay here again if we visit Ft. Lauderdale again!
- 4/5

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Grand. Staff were very friendly and rooms and resort were clean. The beds were also close to the most comfortable we’ve stayed in at a hotel. The hotel’s shuttle service that runs in the evening was nice as most other things are not within walking distance.
- 5/5
The experience was wonderful the hotel is beautiful magnificent beaches amazing vibes the service is amazing. Definitely a place to visit and always be back
- 5/5
I can not say enough about this report. The customer service exceeded everything we wanted. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting first class service. The pools, lazy river and beach front were clean and beautiful. I would definitely return.
- 5/5
Love this hotel! Comfortable, spacious room. Lovely pool and beach access. Onsite service and restaurants are exceptional. Very relaxed and welcoming vibe.
- 4/5
Clean room , beach view was excellent! I loved the hand soap bought a bottle ! The lazy river was awesome would definitely recommend it ! My only complaint was the restaurant I didn’t know they closed in between lunch and dinner I walked to the door employees where there totally ignored me . I went to the little shop next door and she didn’t know the hours , so I didn’t eat there I went out and ate !
- 4/5
Beautiful ocean view !! The suite was large and well decorated feeling very much at home.
- 5/5
Excellent staff and wonderful pool staff.
- 1/5
The price was ridiculous
- 1/5
Do not stay here management is very rude but the workers were good. They charged us for a movie that was not purchased, and when we were checking in, there were gas, checking out, complaining that they were charged for parking when they took an Uber in. If you stay here, check your bill before you leave.
- 5/5
We had a superior king overlooking the ocean. The room was spotless and smelled wonderful after being cleaned daily by staff. The staff was very friendly and took time in responding to our questions. Loved the lazy river!
- 4/5
Pretty location. Resort fee outrageously high. Parking fee out of touch as well.
- 5/5
Very clean room. Very nice staff. Bar/food service on the beach
- 3/5
Staff were great, food not so good.
- 4/5
The staff was great! The room was good and very clean. I was not happy to start receiving spam (marketing) emails from the hotel as soon as I got back. We are also not fans of barn doors for the bathroom. There was also no hooks for the towels near the shower.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel and great rooms. There are a lot of hidden fees -and I started with a cost of 350 and while we did eat there- ended up with a 600 dollar plus bill.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great views and amenities.
- 3/5
Hotel is nice but everything has an extra charge and no extra perks.
- 4/5
The only reason for 4 stars is because of what everyone else is complaining about in the reviews -- they ding you for every little thing. Parking is expensive, food is expensive, in-room dining and snacks/drinks/water are super expensive. Other than that, the hotel is now in need of a bit of a facelift. You can see the wear and tear everywhere. It's not an issue right now but it will be within the next 1-2 years.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay. My favorite part was how extremely comfortable the bed was! It was a great experience and I’m looking forward to booking again very soon for another staycation!
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, wonderful food, and a beautiful room! I felt like I didn't even need to leave the property! We had breakfast and dinner at their Oceans2000 restaurant! I highly recommend breakfast, specifically the blue crab benedict. Watching the sunrise in the morning made our stay magical. We even were able to glimpse a rocket launch at night! Overall, I highly recommend a stay here!
- 5/5
The service was exceptional- shout out to John, who worked on the beach!-and the food was also delicious. The location for our girls weekend was perfect. Also a truly lovely beach.
- 5/5
Very courteous staff, wonderful beach and great ocean view!
- 4/5
Clean room, lots of amenities on site which made things easy.
- 5/5
Such a nice surprise!
- 5/5
Yes everything was great except for the price of parking daily
- 1/5
You need to disclose the additional parking charges of $60 per day. Not very transparent. Staff was rude and unfriendly. We felt unwelcome. Could not understand the front desk person. Maybe an English speaking representative would work better. I would never recommend this dump to anyone
- 5/5
Perfect location on the beach and staff was so friendly. Rooms were amazing
- 5/5
Fantastic service including full lunch/drink service at the pool or the beach! Only small issue I would mention is the pool hours. I have traveled to Florida 15-18 times in my life and visited other warm climates. I have never experienced a pool closing at sunset, or during this time, 6pm. With temperatures still being in the 80’s it would have been nice to have a nighttime swim.
- 5/5
2nd stay was just as great as the first. Clean spacious room. Courteous and friendly staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Loved the size of the suites ! The restaurant was fabulous and had a great view and ambience! The property grounds were a little underwhelming
- 3/5
We enjoyed our stay, our ocean front room was amazing and cozy.. the restaurant stuff was very nice and attentive, but the 22% gratuity included in your check and you still have to see that blank tips line and every waiter had to mention they only get about half of that...let ME decide what tips i want to leave!! and the lazy river was closed the whole time...and the pool was closed on our last day, and we only stayed for 3 days.. so yeah.. we are not coming back, thank you..
- 5/5
Paradise all around
- 5/5
Hotel was great. Rooms were spacious. Beach was fantastic and private for guests. Servers on the beach were extremely hard working- shout out to Jonathan who was amazing! Would not hesitate to return.
- 5/5
Very clean an spacious room, perfect beach and beach service.
- 3/5
Room was great, had a great view. The restaurants/drinks were expensive. I understand it's a resort.
- 5/5
gorgeous resort and rooms. Staff at beach and pool wonderful
- 3/5
Room was good but even on the 5th floor the road noise was bad especially at night. Be aware they charge a 22% service fee on all food and bar items. Resturant next door does not! However this is becoming more common in South FL. Parking is $60 per day $70 for an SUV. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Nice place on the beach sadly they were doing some construction when we visited certainly something to ask about if you are booking a trip.
- 4/5
Beautiful resort. Front desk very helpful. Beds and pillows comfortable, great ocean view room.
- 5/5
Great resort
- 4/5
It’s my little piece of heaven! Maybe have more games for kids like UNO, monopoly, books . I think no lifeguard at beach but it is the most beautiful stunning view! Overall coming back every year
- 5/5
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It is a stunning little hidden gem right on the beach. The room we had was a double king suite and it had so much room and amazing views of the ocean right out our door. We enjoyed playing on the beach and pool all day. The beach service was amazing. Jon took amazing care of us and our kids all day ensuring we had a great relaxing day. We loved every moment we had at the resort and we will definitely be coming back.
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 5/5
Very nice property with direct beach access and large accommodating rooms. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
The staff was so friendly and payed attention to the guests.
- 5/5
I really loved how quiet and private this resort was. The lazy river was my favorite.
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and staff. Check in was easy and quick. No issues that we arrived well before check in time. We were checked in, no additional cost were added. Transportation to the strip was easy. Beach view was beautiful. Rooms were spacious and had plenty amenities. I would stay there again.
- 3/5
Hwh
- 4/5
Nice hotel with direct beach access. Far enough from busy downtown beach that it’s quiet, but also further from restaurants, could be a pro or con depending on the person. Hotel food was good and pool was a good time. Made friends with some iguanas as well.
- 2/5
I selected this hotel because it was directly on the beach and had a lazy river. I selected an ocean view and, while I could see the ocean if I turned my head while on the balcony, it was partial ocean view at best. I had to pay $150 per day “deposit” upon check in—I did not see this in any of the fees mentioned; the room had already been paid for. I understand having a hold for incidentals, but $150 per night is insane. I had a cooler with pop in it, which was apparently ok to have at the beach, but the moment I walked from the beach to the pool, I was immediately stopped by the pool attendant. He was rude. Told me I needed to put my cooler back in my room. I would have let him hold on to it or not even use it. The only good thing about this hotel are the valet drivers—super friendly.
- 5/5
Had a great family stay there, excellent zero entry pool and lazy river for our daughter. Beach is great but too windy while we were there to enjoy it. Large room with separated sitting area and nice ocean view balcony. Very friendly staff. And local to some great restaurants including Aruba cafe it was fantastic!
- 5/5
Beach was great
- 5/5
Everything was great! Great views, accommodations, and food! The beach server John was excellent and made our families stay extra fun!!
- 5/5
This was perfect for our family of 5. The staff was so friendly. Beach chairs and umbrellas were provided for us. The pool was the perfect temperature. Everything was included for a relaxing beach vacation.
- 5/5
Beautiful beach! Will go back!
- 3/5
We felt the room was very dull. Bathroom was spacious, but a tiled shower with no type of slip resistant flooring was dangerous! The dresser was crammed full of things they were trying to sell, leaving little space for personal items. Who puts a coffee maker inside a dresser?Did not care for the high top table and stools in the room. The decor leaves a lot to desire. Housekeeping couldn’t even be bothered to put the decorative pillows back on the bed after making it. A shelf with a stuffed pelican and a canvas painting wasn’t very eye appealing. Room description of ocean view should state that the view/balcony is through a steel door, not sliders and very easy to lock yourself out if not careful. The daily valet parking fee is ridiculous at $55+/daily. Save yourself a car rental and Uber! Most of the staff was pleasant but so many additional fees on everything might stretch your budget. We would probably not return to this resort.
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
Great resort i will definitely come back , the only thing that kind of sucks is , your obligated to do valet & it is expensive , but i must say the valet guys are very nice & professional , also quick to get your car whenever you need it.You feel like a celeb.
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful and very clean! The in-room minibar items are quite expensive, so keep that in mind. It's a completely cashless hotel, so there's no need to visit the ATM. The pool area was lovely and relaxing, although the pool itself is smaller than it appears in the photos. The only downside for us was the pillows. By day three, my neck was hurting. They look fluffy, but once you lay your head down, they flatten out and offer no support. I even tried using three pillows, but it still wasn’t comfortable.
- 5/5
The beach access is amazing. I love the full porch on the back of the hotel facing the ocean. This is mostly a residential area so not many restaurants or bars around. If you’re looking for a lovely hotel with a relaxing beach vibe this is totally it! The sitting area in our hotel room was a perfect touch!
- 5/5
The room.was spacious and well appointed. The balcony with ocean front view is hard to beat.
- 5/5
Romantic dinner in the beach

- 5/5
The beach access was top tier. The amenities and service provided on the beach was immaculate. Will return
- 5/5
We did not receive our free beverage. The hotel was in a beautiful location. Service was excellent. Convenience of the pool and ocean access were amazing, though the lazy river was not available due to maintenance needs. The drinks were delicious. Restaurant was outstanding. Great option for families and elders (we traveled with both children and a grandparent; everyone was quite happy). Looking forward to our next visit!
- 2/5
Customer service terrible
- 5/5
Great beach
- 4/5
Nice hotel , clean room , cleaning staff were great
- 4/5
Very Good
- 5/5
My most favorite part of my stay was the beach view where it was a wonderful view of the sun rise. Also at the beach with the umbrella & beach chair available while the servers were awesome! My daughter and I had a relaxing and comfortable stay at this resort.
- 4/5
Hotel was pretty and staff was great. During our 3 night stay we had to evacuate the hotel twice due to “an emergency” in the building. Both times, we were not given much information.
- 2/5
The lazy river was down and not available to use. The rooms look nicer online. The pool towel rules need to explained on the process.
- 4/5
Parking is too expensive. Lazy river around pool was not working. Iguanas completely out of control. Close to beach and room was very nice.
- 5/5
Another bonus to the location of the resort is that the # 11 public transportation bus runs on the A1A or N. Ocean Blvd. The cost to ride the bus is $2. Please keep in mind that there is a $52 per night resort fee as well as valet parking on site runs $55 per night for regular vehicles. Even though renting a car in Fort Lauderdale would be highly recommended, the high parking fee makes that expense unfeasible. That said, there were a couple of disappointments. The Lazy River was out of order during our visit, which was a letdown since it’s one of the highlights of the resort. With that closed, the pool (which is not very large) felt crowded. In addition, we stayed in Room 322, and I would caution future guests about rooms 312–322. They are located near the service elevators, and beginning as early as 7 a.m., the loud rolling of carts and towel bins across the tile floors made it difficult to rest. More attention to minimizing noise in that area would go a long way.
- 5/5
Lovely property and staff!
- 4/5
Hotel was clean. Service was slow in the bar, fast in the restaurant for breakfast. Lazy river was closed for repair, would have liked to know this beforehand
- 4/5
The room needed some TLC. It had some water damage near the balcony area and the shower did not drain. Ww had to request an engineer to clear the drain our first night. It worked after the maintenence was complete.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful. Dinner was truly amazing!
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and beautiful resort. Room was spacious and oceanview was spectacular. Sunrise and sound of the ocean was relaxing. Staff was friendly, bartender Jenny in their lounge made excellent drinks and made us feel welcome. Will definitely return!
- 2/5
Maybe updating the rooms. Very outdated for the price. I expect more than that.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful and would recommend the resort to friends.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff always made you feel comfortable and at home , The convenience of all amenities right on point .This was our second stay at this property will be back again ty .
- 3/5
The hotel needs significant maintenance
- 5/5
The staff is phenomenal!!

Room cleanliness not up to the standards with the hotel. We were with a baby, when we called the car, the valet didn't even open the door for us any of the times we did the pick up, and at check out the car was turned off knowing we are checking out and the car should cool off.

Everything was amazing!!

My experience at your hotel was very disappointing due to poor cleaning and lack of maintenance. The room was dirty, with dust, and a bathroom that was far from sanitary. The pool area was very poorly maintained. Tiles were broken in some places, and the chairs and umbrellas were old and dirty. It was disappointing because the pool could have been a highlight of the stay, but instead it felt neglected. Carpets and Floor at the lobbyand restaurants were dirty The beach services were very disappointing. On more than one occasion, employees were sent home early, leaving no one available to help with chairs, umbrellas, or drinks. Guests should not have to struggle to find service when it’s advertised as part of the experience. For a hotel that promotes beach amenities, this was very unprofessional and poorly managed.Only one lady at the pool and the young lady at the bar were attentive, friendly, and always went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. At the restaurant two ladies handled all are request with a smile, and professionalism truly stood out. Excellent service like this makes a big difference in a guest’s stay

Nothing near by had to order Ubers to go anywhere they don’t provide transportation till after 6:00pm. Room was dirty. You could hear everything in the hall. Water was 4.00 a bottle the restaurants were 100 a meal.

Hidden gem

Everything about our stay was great, very relaxing and enjoyable. We were bummed the lazy river was down for repairs but the rest of the resort made up for it. The safe was very helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean, no complaints from us.
- 3/5
Although the resort's location was on the beach, the lazy river at the pool was under construction and There Was Not a microwave in the room. Paying for the entire stay upfront was very misleading not to mention the SEPARATE RESORT FEE that was not included in the rate and yet, All Resort Amenties WAS NOT available for Use and I will not be going back. I've had better stays a boutique Hotels with less staff.

Wonderful experience

There are iguanas near the pool so that was cool. Beach was nice. It was quiet. The hotel overall was disappointing. It was very run down. Doors didn’t shut well, the toilet tissue holder was falling off the wall, some outlets didn’t work, the lights randomly come on all by theirselves in the middle of the night. To make up for the outlets not working, they put an incredibly bright alarm clock (with extra outlets) in the room. I had to cover up the alarm clock to sleep. They made the pictures look incredible on the website. Lower your expectations. The white bedspreads were dingy. They have stuff throughout the entire hotel room that they’ll charge extra for if you use it. It was difficult to explain that to our children. They charge a $55 resort fee for every day that you stay. The towel situation: they make you check out beach towels with a card. If you don’t bring the towel back (and then turn the card in at the end of your stay), you’re going to have to pay $20 for a towel. They put this in fine print on the back of the little card. And then towels were awful. Thin, stained and not always available. Also, be prepared that you basically have to valet park. So add an extra $55 plus tips per day. Listen, if this was a super nice hotel and I was paying the extra fees, I would be fine with it. It’s just not. It’s just run down and feels a little trashy. What does the resort fee pay for? Wish I had stayed anywhere else.

We love this property. This is the second time staying with them and we can’t say enough. Staff is wonderful, the dining is fantastic, you don’t need to leave and go anywhere else! it’s a classic beach vibe.
- 4/5
Didn’t like the 65.00 per day valet charge which used to be 25.00. Property does not supply shampoo or soap and never got towels when requested. Staff was friendly
- 5/5
Having the living room made out stay very relaxing and low stress. Location right on the beach was the primary reason we chose this resort, but the experience was great
- 3/5
Pros- Location, Beach/ocean, outdoor pool, big rooms, Hotel restaurant, spa toiletries and the lobby etc always smells good. Cons- No microwave, mini fridge full $75 to remove, valet mandatory with fee, resort fee, new this year towel card or $25 charge (not even the nice thick towels though), 22% gratuity for staff then additional tip goes to server. Balcony furniture needs upgrades.

Amazing
- 4/5
The outdated exterior made me nervous initially, but as soon as I walked in I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the property was - it even smelled great. Staff was very nice throughout my stay, the rooms were beautiful,
- 5/5
The pool was a bit small. The beach was fantastic. Hotel service staff and cleanliness superb. So was the room.
- 1/5
The hotel is outdated, it’s at the end from the other hotels and you have to pretty much drive everywhere. They charge a resort fee of almost $100 a night and it’s not a resort. It’s a regular hotel with a swimming pool. I checked out early and they told me it wouldn’t be a problem and then charged me a early departure fee would not recommend.
- 5/5
Excellent attention, comfortable and spacious rooms, HONESA beach.
- 4/5
I have been visiting pelican grand for well over a decade on and off and I hadnt been back in a few years and I thought the property looked much more run down! There were rust stains on walls near the pool and it just didnt feel as luxurious as it used to. I do think it might be time for a facelift for the pool area. Overall I do love this hotel and the room was comfortable and quiet. I love that the beach is right there and the dining options are nice.
- 5/5
Very nice and quiet place.
- 5/5
The pelican was so clean and perfect for our one night stay in Fort Lauderdale before we headed to Bimini!
- 5/5
Clean, great staff and dining. Super friendly crew
- 5/5
Had a really nice weekend here with my girlfriend. Not too many kids around and really enjoyable beachside service
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. The pool picture is deceiving. Much smaller in person but very nice. Loved the lazy river. Boutique is very pricey. Only negative was having to evacuate 5 flights in the early morning for a false alarm.

Room not clean enough, Just feel uncomfortable to stay.
- 4/5
Very expensive for parking . Could not understand girl at check in I have no idea what she was saying . Door in room was hard to close , toilet paper dispenser was falling off wall . Mattress was mushy .views were outstanding . Location very good .

Experience was great! Our family was only there for one night, but we will be back for sure. Great beach and pool, service was excellent!

Great
- 5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed my seaside suite. Gorgeous view. Loved that the property is located on the beach. The outdoor beach service is immaculate. John provides wonderful service with a smile. Throughout the property, I found the staff to be kind and attentive. I also enjoyed the pool area and the rooftop spa- it’s small but the service was quality. All in all- I enjoyed my respite at The Pelican.
- 1/5
Get ready for extra charges and no customer service. Threatening to charge if the towel keys are not returned and loud announcements at the pool about picking up towels if you’re gone for 30 minutes. Dinner was overpriced, cold upon arrival and took 2 hours to get to the table. Check out did not care about our negative experience. Will never be back.

Great property. Food was wonderful
- 3/5
They charge an extra $52 resort fee for each night, that should include two bottle of water each night. But when I try to get it a second day, they said water it’s only given out on the first day. Aside from their service, and poor cleaning condition, the beach is nice

Amazing
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time here. It was very family friendly with the lazy river, pool and easy beach access. They had fun events like a kids glow party with spelling bee and coconut race. My daughter had a blast. The staff were beyond accommodating, especially Andrew by the pool, Jean by the beach and Donte. I don’t have some of the names but everyone spoiled my daughter with fruit and ice cream any room she walked into and made her feel like a princess. We would definitely come back!
- 5/5
I very recommend this place to stay
- 5/5
We had breakfast on the patio which was delicious with excellent service and reasonably priced. Thanks once again and especially to the team!

- 5/5
This place had everything I will definitely be returning. It was clean. The food was delicious. I couldn’t have imagine staying anywhere else for my anniversary. Thank you for making it beautiful.
- 3/5
The room was ok but not the vip experience that I expected
- 5/5
My family and I will absolutely be returning and I highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Fort Lauderdale area. Hotel was wonderful and so were the staff!
- 5/5
It was a great experience.
- 5/5
The property is beautiful. The staff is beyond amazing. The food was excellent. The rooms were a litlle run down but still nice. Also walls were paper thin so sleeping was difficult with weddings and parties going on.
- 2/5
Lots of hidden costs, $50 dollars to pay for the resort facilities which we didn’t use and $55 to park the car 😩 Toilet door was a random sliding door which didn’t close in 418. No privacy for the family which isn’t acceptable. How strange. We won’t return!

The Pelican Grand Beach Resort is a Fort Lauderdale gem. The moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted by a pleasant aroma filling the air. The beach is steps away as you check in at the welcoming reception counter The accommodations are lovely, spacious, clean, and comfortable with a retro beachy theme. You are able to gaze at the endless sea from your oceanfront balcony. I was impressed with the beachfront staff. They quickly set up your lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables, at your request, for your relaxing day in the sand. John and Jesse took great care of your food and beverage needs all day long with cheer and friendliness. John made sure you were hydrated with endless cups of ice water as he made you smile. There is a charming ice cream/gift shop serving delicious Gelato and other treats. With two restaurant options for your dining needs, you will be satisfied. One of them has a happy hour! Each interaction with the resort staff was friendly and kind. The beach and pool director/manager was very friendly and engaging. She excitedly shared with us some new initiatives she wants to incorporate at the beachfront. I wish I knew her name. She made me want to return in the near future. One of the best amenities I enjoyed was the complimentary shuttle to and from Fort Lauderdale restaurants, shops, clubs, and fun. All you do is text the driver your desire and they will do their best to accommodate your needs. I am excited with the thought of returning very soon

- 5/5
Amazing staff wonderful place
- 5/5
Great place to stay with family, not to much around the surrounding area to walk but everything you need at location . A little pricey but you get what you pay for . I recommend staying there !!
- 3/5
the room was very dirty, blood on the pull out bed, dirty to-go containers in the dresser drawer, the sink had stains all inside of it, you can tell this room was just cleaned in 10mins, we were also promised conjoined rooms as we had a large group, and upon arriving at the hotel we were informed they have none in the entire hotel.
- 5/5
Wonderful relaxing stay. We got a $41 credit towards food 2 free drinks. Excellent time on the beach. Lounge chairs, umbrellas and tables complimentary due to the resort fee. Good for families and romantic stay as well. Has lazy river. Will come again
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay here and atmosphere was wonderful. Felt like i was on an island
- 2/5
Too many fees, parking super expensive, food and drinks overpriced.
- 5/5
Love it

need microwave in room
- 5/5
We are at Ocean 2000 for dinner and it was delicious. It was kind of expensive but was worth every penny. Service was great from start to finish.
- 5/5
Nice property
- 5/5
Wonderful property and oceanfront suite was beautiful! Only drawback was our door was across front the front of the building and you could hear the street noise at times.
- 5/5
We had a large comfortable suite. The staff made this property special. We interacted with many staff members and each was pleasant and could not do enough for us. Hospitality here was amazing!!
- 4/5
The beach service and the pool service was awesome. Best in the area for sure. You can order food and drinks at either location and they bring it right to you. Family friendly. Coffee surprisingly good at little shop by lobby. Valet service fast. Cleaning service great. Definitely recommend. Only complaint, and I am being picky, the shower was underwhelming which was important with all the sand.
- 3/5
Water was brown, 2nd room wasnt ready till almost 6pm, first room bathroom was dirty, sink had stains, the shared patio is terrible and always dirty.
- 5/5
Great resort friendly staff beach chair situation was odd we were three people but they would only give us two chairs
- 5/5
The property was gorgeous. The staff was wonderful.
- 5/5
The resort was absolutely charming and the staff was so helpful, friendly and super nice. We took an Uber to the strip about a mile or so away and also in town to Las Olas to shop and eat. The resort has menu service at the pool and beach as well as a nice restaurant and bar with delicious food.
- 4/5
It's a very quaint hotel. The rooms are spacious with a living area. The pool is small, but it's a good thing there were not too many people. Great happy hours even during the weekend. I didn't like that they only have valet parking. Albert was the best server at Ocean 2000. And Jennifer and Melissa at the O2K Lounge.
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. The only negative I would say is there isn’t much area to just hang out if you don’t want to be in the pool area or bar. There are a few rocking chairs however not enough.
- 3/5
The beds were way too low, did not like that at all, I expected more for the price I paid for two nights, I wasn’t impressed, I won’t be going back.
- 5/5
The Ocean view is the best. To be able to hear the ocean while sitting on the balcony watching the stars and ocean vessels is heaven! You must experience the Spa deep body massage! I love this resort! It’s a very romanic atmosphere.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Beautiful location! Helpful and friendly staff! Restaurant food was amazing and we loved the ice cream!

My son and I loved our stay at the Pelican Grand. The food and service were excellent. We loved Michael, his service on the beach made our trip even better!
- 5/5
Very enjoyable. Everyone was great

Very good
- 3/5
had a king size bed that was low to the floor with a mattress so soft you sunk into it and not very comfortable at all. Fire alarm and announcements going off in room at 7:30am on Saturday telling us to evacuate just to get down the stairs and they say it is false alarm and can go back to room yet the same alarm and message kept going off for at least another hour. Was not expecting valet fees to be $55 per day especially since we were staying there because we had an event we were attending the very next day at the same hotel and the party planner had told my mother in law that the valet would be $18. Also $52 in resort fees for what and tell me we have a $41 dollar credit towards food and drinks yet when we got coffee Sunday morning at the little cafe they still ended up charging me for it. Definitely not a place of choice next time we are in Ft Lauderdale. Will stick Marriott where I know are wonderful and don't charge outrageous extra prices and take care of there guest
- 4/5
The food options weren’t the best. Very pricey and not many options. The beds were very comfy though.
- 5/5
Beautiful….room layout as pictured.
