Staff was pleasant and overall property is well maintained. The room did not have ocean view or barely a view of any sort. I booked this property for the sole purpose of ocean view and that was a disappointment. La Vez great food and staff, so I recommend it. While there were some good aspects of the property and stay, the room was not at all what I believed to have booked so it may be an Expedia issue and not W.

we had the best long weekend here. from the moment we stepped out of the uber, every staff member we interacted with was polite and asked how they can help. we were greeted with a delicious sangria and offered bottled water at reception, which was lovely. we had an ocean front room with a balcony overlooking the pool and it was not at all loud as i anticipated it to be, given the location. our room was very clean and the bed insanely comfortable. the location is close to restaurants and of course, steps from the beach. love the service at the beach also. looking forward to returning!

I loved our stay. The staff is great. I loved the pool and beach. They don’t have ice machines on the floors, so you have to call room service for ice. I wish they had a coffee shop or breakfast place in the hotel other than ElVez or room service. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel and I would go back.

The hotel has not returned the deposit made for incidentals. There were two deposits made because I did two reservations. A total of 1,000 for both incidentals. As of today, I have not received the deposits back.

The property itself was great and staff was nice. Big issue though is we had no hot water to shower or wash hands. They sent someone to fix it but he just told us we needed to run the water for 20 minutes. And when we did that it still wasn't hot enough . And the AC wasn't great . I was very unhappy with the hot water . My mom is going though chemo and it's important to have have hot water for sanitary reasons

When I arrived at Check in I told them I purchased an Ocean front room with a king bed and in there system showed something else. So they wound up giving me an ocean view with two queen beds that my wife was so upset at me. Why did I rent this room? On the second day, they gave me the oceanfront room which I requested on the booking and but my first day was a total disaster.

My stay at the W was great. The check in guest service rep Janice was excellent by providing excellent customer service, consistently displayed a friendly smile, and was able to kindly answer few questions I had.

Most concerning was finding a cockroach inside our hotel suite. After being moved again, the final floor we were placed on still had visible construction activity, rooms being worked on, and service clutter throughout the hallway, which made the atmosphere feel disruptive and unfinished rather than relaxing. The staff members we encountered were polite and tried to assist, but overall the experience was disappointing given the cost of the stay and the expectations associated with the W brand. We truly hoped for a much better experience and were surprised by how many issues affected what was supposed to be a special vacation. We hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the guest experience moving forward.

The location of the property I didn’t like I was charged $63.00 a night for valet parking.. you have to pay a $500 dollar incidental fee.. you have to pay to sit at the pool.. when I checked out they took 269.00 out of my 500 for parking and resort fee which was $62.00 dollars at night.. after me telling them I wanted to pay for parking out of my pockets.. I stayed at the hotel 5/6-5/8 and paid a total of $1308… I feel like I could’ve took a trip out of the country for that amount.. also the hotel is ok but it definitely needs to be upgraded.. you can tell their just continuously slapping a bunch of coats of paint to make it look new.. I enjoyed the area but not the hotel…

I had the pleasure of staying at this property seven years ago. However, I must express my disappointment with the poor condition of the room. It was in a state of disarray, and I had to request a thorough cleaning. The overall aesthetic of the property has also deteriorated significantly since my last visit. It appears to have lost its charm and appeal.

Got a premiere suite and the bathroom did not work. The water was leaking from around the bottom of the toilet all over the floor. Smelt like sewer in my room. Took them over 3 hours to come and check out the problem. They did not fix or try and transfer my room. The next morning more people came to try and fix the problem and I was told they would have to replace the entire toilet. Very unacceptable for a high end room like that and how expensive it was. You would think they would make sure the bathrooms are fully functional before the guest get put into the room. Very unsanitary and I was not satisfied with my stay.

love love staying at the W. this would be my 2nd time staying here, but we got a oceanfront room this time and loved it. amenities are always good. new pool was beautiful. pool staff very attentive. front desk staff and bell guys were helpful and nice. only downside or should i say upgrade they need to indulge into next would be updating their televisions in the rooms. they had “cable” but there was no good options to watch or no option to login into the most common apps (prime, netflix, etc). my toddler travels with us, otherwise i would not have cared. so all in all, great stay + hotel, the tv situation just needs to be upgraded :) would absolutely stay again and again with hopes that the upgrade is made eventually.

The 2 bedroom suite was super nice for the price ~ the only issue was the second bedroom door would not close and the lights would not turn off. We asked the desk fro send someone to come fix it and l the never did. Otherwise it was a great stay.

I had specifically requested an ocean view, but the view I received was obstructed by a large column directly in the middle, making it far from what I expected or paid for. Overall, the resort was just okay. Unfortunately, the manager was not helpful in addressing these concerns, which made the experience more disappointing.

Huge suite! Very clean and the views were amazing! Everything was so convenient for our short 3 day stay! Beach service was top notch! Alll the restaurants attached to the W were amazing! I would say the only 1 very small item I wish they had in the room was a full length mirror. And bathroom lighting is very dim so ladies pack a lighted mirror!! Other than that everything was perfect!

It was close to all the dining options and in nice area, beach was okay a lot of sea weed The rooms were very small for the price and another couple that traveled with us had cockroaches in their room which was even smaller than our room. I wouldn't recommend there are better places. W has lost its applea especially after letting them know the situation with the cockroach they didn't even react. The bathrooms by the pool were horrible the doors didn't shut and also in the lobby by the restaurant

The room was not what i was expecting very small for the price being charged and on top of that there were cockroaches running in the room. Which already being disappointed that was a complete turnoff. It makes you think was it there the whole time we stayed or only today. Now i have to make sure i leave my luggage outside for a few days. When this was mentioned at the front desk at check out they just said okay will tell the managment that room should be cleaned better , they did not offer any compensation nothing.

Almost daily had to ask for toilet paper and fresh towels. Room was not cleaned every day. Things were in disrepair like the toilet paper holder. The sink shot water all over. It needs better maintenance.

There were only 3 working lifts for the property, at peak times you could be waiting up to 10 minutes for a space which then ran very slowly as stopping at floors en route. Would not stay again, too many other better, more reasonably priced, options.

The pool was flooded and the pool bathrooms were filthy, food was basic at best. In my room the smell of mildew was overwhelming. The sliding glass doors didn’t lock close and the water pressure was weak from a filthy shower head. I had stayed at multiple W Hotels and this by far was the worst. The staff was oblivious to all complaints and I left after one nights stay.

They upgraded us to a nice suite, but unfortunately the cleanliness was lacking. Dusty tables and floors were not clean, and there were no toiletries in the room. We had to ask for everything, and you have to tip individuals each time. There was no parking, and they charge $65 for valet, but it’s not explained on the website at the time of reservation.

Staff very very polite and fast with service. Very clean upscale hotel with pools for sunrise or sunset. And great beach with chairs and umbrellas. Great local shops and bars within walking distance. Recommend the water taxi for $35 takes you all over Fort Lauderdale and drops you off at bars, attractions and shops.

Front desk staff needs better training. Also room listed as ocean view was partial ocean view at best. Hotel did change us after one night to a proper ocean view after A LOT of effort on my part. It’s just simply not a 5 star hotel, almost every interaction with front desk staff was frustrating. Pool and housekeeping staff are excellent however. Location is great.

There was no room cleaning. Nobody came to clean. Light in the room was poor. One light switch was not working. The balcony door did not close. Someone had to come to fix it. Room service was delayed for over one hour. Someone failed to give room number to person delivering. It was so late, someone called to let me know it was not on time. Finally upon departure, the water in the shower stopped. I was left soaped up without rinsing. W for worse hotel?

Communication throughout the process also felt inconsistent. I spoke with several different staff members while trying to resolve the situation, and although a room change was eventually provided, it came only after multiple attempts and conversations with different representatives. An initial gesture of points was mentioned but ultimately never honored. I want to acknowledge that some members of the staff were polite and trying to help, but the overall experience lacked the smooth coordination and guest-focused service that one would expect from a hotel at this level. For a stay costing approximately $1,400 for two nights, I expected a much more seamless and relaxing experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works toward improving communication and problem resolution so that future guests do not encounter the same level of frustration.

Perfect stay. The main pool is open again which was nice. Staff was great. Restaurants had great food and drinks. The hotel is just far enough to stay away from most spring breakers. The bathroom glass is also frosted now so you don’t get a free peep show from anyone you’re sharing the room with.

On the positive side, the deck/balcony was fantastic and a real highlight of the stay. Despite specifically requesting accommodations for a child (such as a crib or sofa bed), there was no sofa bed or pull-out option provided in such a large room, which was disappointing and inconvenient for our family. Housekeeping wasn't consistent—rooms weren't cleaned automatically each day, and coffee pods weren't replenished as expected. Additionally, the room stayed uncomfortably hot at night, even with the AC on. Overall, while the space and deck had great potential, these design and service shortcomings made the experience less enjoyable than anticipated.

The cleanliness was absolutely top-tier — the room, common areas, and overall property were spotless and well maintained. You can tell they take pride in presentation and detail. The staff was incredible. Everyone was welcoming, professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Service was consistent across the board and truly elevated the experience. Although the pool was temporarily out of service, the beach more than made up for it. Direct beach access, beautiful views, and the overall vibe still delivered the full luxury experience. Five stars all the way around. I would absolutely stay here again.

The location couldn’t have been better — right by the beach and close to so many restaurants, shops, and nightlife spots. It made it easy to relax during the day and have a wonderful, fun time exploring in the evenings. The overall vibe of the hotel is stylish, lively, and perfect for a getaway. Between the beautiful views, great amenities, and exceptional service, our stay was nothing short of amazing. We can’t wait to come back!

Hotel is always amazing, service, concierge, valet, room, view are always great and amazing. What was unfortunate was being put in a room next to the elevators and elevator mechanical room. All was good until about 2/3am when in a dead sleep you hear the elevators whine going floor to floor. Very unfortunate bc this was and is always an amazing hotel to stay at and have never had issues here before.

Valet was quick but rude and oblivious every time I went in and out. Housekeeping came after 6 pm the first day and then came late each day. One day they left the patio door open so the room was very warm. Drinks at the pool were bad and quite over priced.

Janice at the welcome desk is truly a gem. She went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. She is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the job and is an asset to the W. Janice is the best person for that position in that she has a warm and welcoming personality. Patrick and Nikki in the El Vez restaurant provided warm and professional service with a genuine smile. They are both knowledgeable in their jobs and made us feel comfortable. We would recommend the W hotel to others with the assurance that they will come away with the same hospitality that we experienced

The room no longer had the same standard of cleanliness or upkeep. The furniture and overall condition felt worn, and the room itself didn’t feel clean. The most concerning part of the stay was discovering roaches—one even appeared in the shower, which I recorded on video. This is something I never expected from a property at this price point and reputation. I reported the issue to the front desk, but the only solutions offered were a room change (which didn’t feel reassuring given the situation) and comping the daily resort fee. For the cost of staying here, that response felt insufficient, especially when the expectation is a true luxury-level experience. I’m disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite hotels, but the quality has noticeably declined. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and restores the property to the high standards it once had. I would stay elsewhere.

Bathtub had no plug, primary doors were off track. For the price I do not think the suite is maintained the way it should be. We’ve stayed before and this will probably be the last time. We’ve also had an issue with Expedia and the W both charging for an extra guest and trying to recto this has been a hassle to say the least. Very disappointing.

Honestly I stayed here for 3 nights and there is better. The location is probably the best thing but still requires you to drive. The room service horrible, I have never been anywhere where they are telling me to come down or having to call multiple times to get them to come. Service is very slow. Only time it was good when checking in or out the hotel. The pool was dirty water and surprisingly small but i guess there is another one renovating rn?. The cleaning in the room is fine like doable not over the top but just bare minimum where there is still last person hair still in the room. Also had a weird smell in the room each time like a wet smell or chlorine. Overall I don’t think I would come back the building needs major renovation for their rooms and better service.

The location of the hotel is great, close to beach and walkable to many places. Unfortunately we were not told the main pool was under repair and would be closed. This was a main reason for us choosing this hotel as there are hundreds to choose from in Ft Lauderdale and surrounding areas. The lobby bar also wasn’t open. The beach area was closed early, like by 5pm on the one day we tried to go. You are charged a resort fee and we used nothing. There was a small pool at back of building that did not interest us to use. We booked through Expedia and did not receive the room we booked yet were charged the higher price for the whole stay. The check in staff were not helpful at all. I very issue I spoke of was met with challenge or told to call somewhere else. The best staff there are the Valets! There are many options to stay in the area and this would not be my choice. It is very overpriced. I will not be returning.

We had an amazing stay except the main pool was under renovations and the living room bar was also closed. Definitely would like to go back when these are open and wish I knew when I booked that those weren’t going to be available. Also bought 2 bottles of water from the store by the lobby and it was $24 which was INSANE. But other than that really liked the hotel and location.

Loved everything except the odd way you're supposed to pay attention to the light shining on the floor telling you to go to the third floor to actually check in if you arrive late. The steaks at the restaurant were very salty, unfortunately.

My dislikes: no-one told us there was construction going on from early in the am to renovate pool area. Very disruptive and noisy. Hated the room layout with a so called bathroom in the middle of the room!!!

The website doesnt tell you the pool and bar are closed. They dont tell you at check in either. Online daily resort fee says $55 but they charged $62.50. They also charged room service to the room when i paid cash at delivery and they charged for "mix bar" when nothing was ever touched. The bathrooms are moldy, the outside balcony doors are moldy. Worst W experience of any W hotel.

I am disappointed in the room location which was over the non working pool so we heard construction throughout the day every day all day in the mornings too. There was not a working pool in our tower.

The alternative pool is extremely small, crowded, and sunscreen floats on top and the filtration system clearly isn’t working. The hot tub was filled with children, making it anything but relaxing. On top of that, the secondary pool is blocked by surrounding buildings, so it gets very little sunlight. On a positive note, we loved the wrap-around balcony in our room, and our beach experience was saved thanks to Juan and the other beach staff, including the food and beverage server — they were fantastic. However, when we raised our concerns with management about the pool closure, all they offered was a $75 credit to the pool deck for drinks, but we bd to ask for it and he hesitated. For a property of this caliber, that response felt dismissive. If we had simply been told ahead of time, we could have adjusted our travel dates. Instead, the lack of transparency left us feeling misled. I’ve loved this hotel in the past, but because of how poorly this situation was handled, I would not choose to stay again.

Me and my family rents at The W for the summer every year. We came here expecting the same experience we had in the past. The pool was under construction the restaurant and lounge was under construction. We had to leave the resort to look for a pool. Overall everything was bad and was very upset

We love the pool here! Unfortunalty it was closed for renovation. There was no warning of this during the booking process. The resident pool was open for hotel guest much smaller pool in the back of the building. Needless to say we did not go back there. I don't hate the W, I would have choosen a differnent hotel if i would have known the pool was closed. Next time i will call to make sure all amenities are available.

Our room was ice-cold freezing! I had to adjust the thermostat a couple degrees higher to make the room more comfortable for us. On our last full day, we were at the main pool with a DJ playing music. Great vibes! Although, the pool staff weren't too friendly when we walked in. Within 30 minutes, everyone was kicked out of the pool. Supposably, someone puked in the pool. They had to kick us out to have it cleaned & tested. We never went back. Afterwards, we moved to the 2nd pool, which was a lot smaller, with a more laid back atmosphere. It was confusing to get to. The hotel is across the street from the beach. The staff at the beach provided chairs, waters and towels. They were very friendly and easy to talk to. There were a couple of restaurants at the hotel. We enjoyed El Vez. Staff was friendly and the food was filling! I don't think it was worth staying at this hotel for the amount of money I paid to stay here. Beware: they will charge you an extra Daily Resort Service Fee of $62+/day as well. I wish there was better communication b/t staff and patrons regarding fees, etc. I'm not sure if I would stay at this hotel again though. My experience was "Fair", hence the 3 star ratings.

I spent over 2000 for two days, the staff does not communicate well, I was changed without them telling me, when I first checked in I was not informed of certain charges, also, I paid for a massage a deep tissue, that was horrible, then I valet parking as I pick my car up there is a nail in my tires which I was told they not responsible, the rooms are not up to part , broken shower, broken cabinets, tile coming up etc, I have pictures and videos the staff is very nonchalant, honestly I wouldn’t come back for the price that I paid I should have felt happier and comfortable

The floors were filthy. Out socks were black. The in room bar was very limited we asked for a king and it wasn’t available. The sofa was stained and the flooring was not only filthy but in horrible condition. The price does NOT match the experience. I’ve stayed here many times and it seems like each time it’s getting worse and worse.

Check in person was mildly friendly. Told him it was our anniversary and he barely acknowledged it. Elevator floors were dirty. Room was very nice and clean. Gym equipment was avg. they had two treadmills not working, cables broken on a machine and the floors were coming up. Overall lack of maintenance. For the price u pay not worth it anymore. Going to explore other options on the beach going forward.

This hotel left a lot to be desired. Our room wasn’t clean to our standards at all. Small details were overlooked. There were handprints on the frosted glass near the bed, stains on the comforter AND sheets. The couch was absolutely filthy. We had to call multiple times to get someone to come back and clean and were told they’re coming and they didn’t until hours later. We never received our welcome drink, or even a do not disturb sign so we were constantly woken up by housekeeping. The gentlemen at the front desk wasn’t forthcoming about the hotel deposit, and just asked us to swipe our card but never explained how much it would be and was not very friendly at all. My husband had to go down there several times to get assistance and was gaslit by him. He kept saying housekeeping was coming to fix the issue “right now” or oh they’re “on the way” which was a lie. They didn’t come till hours later and the handprints were never cleaned! Our phone could not call the front desk and 3 out of the 4 USB plugs didn’t work. Also, the lighting in the restroom was horrible, even during the day. I had a very hard time doing my makeup. Our room was supposed to be an ocean view room but was more ocean adjacent. We were stuck between this hotel and another option and I wish we would’ve gone with our other choice. Definitely would not stay here again.

To make matters worse, when I brought this to the attention of the manager, I was met with unprofessionalism that only added to my frustration. Instead of addressing my concerns with understanding and a willingness to help, I felt dismissed and undervalued as a guest. Given my experience, I would not recommend staying at the W Hotel. I strongly suggest being cautious when booking your room here, as you may end up disappointed like I did. There are plenty of other hotels that offer much better service and value for your money.

Didn't get off to the best start...after a long day of travel, I should be able to check in at 4:30 pm. Jr Suite was in the residential tower, which was a long walk to everything the hotel has to offer, but was the perfect size for my wife, 13 yo son and myself. We did have to call and request clean towels + the garbage to be removed. The vibe was great & so was the location. We loved that they had e-bikes & both restaurants were very good. The pool was ROCKING, and the pool staff were AWESOME...felt like we were in Vegas. They were able to accommodate a late checkout at 4pm for $250, which we appreciated. Not perfect, but we will go back to the W.

This was a new location for us in Fort Lauderdale and we enjoyed it very much. The hotel was lovely with many amenities. We especially enjoyed El Vez restaurant and the quieter of the two pools, Wet West. The staff, including housekeeping, were excellent.
