Fortuna Hotel

Rooms weren’t very clean. Vent in bathroom didn’t work so the moisture stayed on the walls and floor. The pool was drained and dirty, unusable. Front desk isn’t always staffed. Sometimes hard to find someone.

Great location , staff responded quickly, kids were sad that they couldn’t use a pool but on the second day of our hotel stay we found out we could’ve used the pool next-door. Overall, it’s a good spot.

The front staff, amazing. Location perfect. The rest terrible. Modly, dirty, dusty, rusty, stained and bugs crawling from the tub or stock to the celling.

There was banging on doors early morning on two occasions. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for. My review may be better if I wasn’t in the back part of the hotel.

The best Hotel out there

Location was perfect. Walking distance to restaurants and convenient stores. The pool was out of service, so we had to use Elita hotel for the pool. Staff was very helpful. Its walking distance to the beach. We didn't have a bad experience. They do provide beach towels and an umbrella that is located in the office.

This stay was awful. The pictures looked absolutely nothing like what we booked. When we got there, the pool was closed as well. This property is run down and straight up dirty. I immediately ended up booking another stay someplace else the day I got there and did not even stay one night this place was awful. There were stains on the walls, the shower water randomly ran, the room smelt like fish, the paint on all the walls were chipped, the window was broken, and the door wouldn’t even lock shut. Upon asking for a refund the staff still hasn’t fully refunded me as they’re required to do so. The staff keeps dodging calls and messages related to my refund. This is truly a horrible place to stay and the staff are sketchy with your money as well. Save your time and more importantly keep yourself safe and do not stay here.

The staff, though, was great. Communication was excellent, and they consistently checked in through text, which I really appreciated. What disappointed me most was that the pools at our property were closed. One of the main reasons I booked this room was to enjoy the pool right outside our building, but when we arrived, it was blocked off with yellow tape. When I asked about it, I was told it was closed for maintenance. I really feel that should have been disclosed before arrival. They did offer us the option to use the pool at their sister property, which I appreciated, but it was still a bit inconvenient since it wasn’t where we were staying. The walk wasn’t too far, but still not ideal. The location itself is great — right next to the beach in a very quiet area. There isn’t much to do nearby, but shops and restaurants are about a 15-minute walk away.

The downside was that the room had humidity issues. Another thing I think is important to mention: I’m not sure if homeless people live around there, but they walk through the hotel area. They don’t bother the guests, but they look unsettling and can be scary. Last night at 1:30 a.m., I was smoking when suddenly one of them appeared and walked through the entire hallway where the rooms are located. In conclusion, the hotel does not seem to have proper security.

Staff was very helpful and kind. Although the property seemed old. Pool was closed which was a disadvantage but they do offer you to go to the hotel next door to swim. I will say i saw a couple roaches and felt uncomfortable but staff was able to move me to another room quickly. Overall was a good place to stay for a cheap price.

Honest review - I booked this last minute because it was one of the only affordable rooms available. I probably would not stay here again if I visit this area again. The room I stayed in didn’t look much like the photo I saw online, a lot more basic. The sheets and bed was clean but everything else was kinda worn. At first, there was some nasty stuff on the floor by my fridge that was making the area smell bad, but the staff was very accommodating and sent maintenance to clean it up promptly. Aside from the property, the staff was great and very helpful. It’s just the property itself was just eh. If you’re just trying to go to the beach and don’t care much abt hotel this is a solid spot because it’s a 3 minute walk to beach 😊 area felt safe aswell. Hope this helps 👍

Perfect location, everything is so close to this hotel it worked out great! Beach is right down the block, whole strip of restaurants and bars walkable distance. Amazing trip!

Great set up the bathroom can do with extra cleaning and the sheets weren’t all that clean I didn’t make a fuss because it’s was a surprised for my kids I did the best I can by buying my own cleaning products and they were happy staff was very nice and great coffee and towels when needed I would deff give it another try thanks for stay

The room was not what was pictured at all. It smelled like roach spray. It was very small. There was one power surge extension plug in. The tv wouldn't turn on at all. We didn't get any clean towels and staff was never at front desk the 2 days we were there to ask for any. No one came to take trash out or sweep room during our stay.

Great location rooms were clean and staff was super helpful but I did take some stars away because sadly the beach was full of stinky seaweed so we would’ve liked to enjoy one of the two pools on property but both were closed/ out of order other than that it was a nice quick stay.

My husband and I love the Fortuna. We had a really nice room with a giant full bathroom and also a full kitchen, a complete studio apartment. They have personal amenities available 24;hours. The pool is lovely. The staff is excellent.

Amazing location

The most horrible stay ever! My make up got stolen along with other belongings. There was no one at the front desk the whole I stayed there and the rooms were just disgusting. They were so dirty. I regret staying here and would not recommend to anyone at all. 0/10. I did not feel safe sleeping at night.

I booked this hotel at the last minute, which was the night before we arrived, and no one told me that the pool was closed and here we are on the beach with no pool for the airshow. I had mold and mildew on my walls in my hotel room and the picnic tables that were outside were falling apart. I do not recommend going to this property.

Housekeeping lurked outside my room for 1 hour before check out which I found to be weird and as if I was being rushed out before the designated check out time. Good place to stay if yours just looking for a room to sleep in

Property was conveniently located just two blocks up from the beach, walkable to all local amenities and beachside shops. Very Basic, but clean and safe at the same time. Staff were very helpful and quick to respond to inquiries or needs. While the property could use some updating and modernization, its price point provides great value in comparison to other hotel chains in the vicinity.

We were a short walk to the beach. The pool was great! They had chairs absolve for us to use. The little kitchen we had was very nice.

I love this place. I've stayed here about 5 times now. It needs a little upgrading, like the curtains dont fit, so it's easy to see inside the windows. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they still do not have mirrors in the rooms. It's hard to see how you look without a mirror. But over all it was clean, the staff is very nice and it's steps away from the beach....

It was exactly what I paid for, cheap and close to the beach. There are multiple pools on site but for some reason the one by our room was closed the entire week. No staff on site, especially after 4pm. Check in information is via email and sending messages for housekeeping. Basic rooms. Older property but I just needed a clean room with a bed to sleep

There was stuff stolen out of our room and the staff didn’t even try to look into it or compensate us. Not to mention how run down the property was. DO NOT stay here, please!

The maintenance crew was over worked front desk person not available most days. Management said all the right things but did nothing. We were moved three times to find a suitable room and it still left much to be desired. Lacking electric outlets and power air was the biggest issue. Extension cords hidden in drawers Outlets that didn’t work or outlets obsolete. First unit was so split up but had one small air unit that ran most the day and still room was musty damp and not cool. And forget showering and then finding a place to get ready one because of lack of circulating air and 2nd no plugs near any mirrors or station to get ready especially if more than one person staying in the room. 2nd room pretty much the same. so third room looked the part I guess??? However a circuit blew so we ended up turned of all lights and one air conditioner when using a hairdryer because of the circuit. No maintenance I found circuit breaker myself. All TVs in every unit had issues of some sort bad remotes Roku stick not working Internet service down or work intermittently. One pool closed other area lacked comfortable or usable chairs. This property in my opinion should be condemned totally.

Fortuna is absolutely wonderful! Thank you Jonathan and Gabriel for everything and your exceptional service and friendliness. Fortuna is located right off the beach nestled around boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, and galleries. The pools on the property are beautiful. They have amenities such as hygiene products, beach towels and extra towels, cutlery etc. on site 24 hours an available. The rooms are very comfortable and apartment like. I can not wait to return. Treat yourself to a Sunny escape at the Fortuna hotel, part of a boutique collection located on the Fort Lauderdale Beach area.

They were super communicative! The amenities were great. We really appreciated the beach towels and chairs. The staff was lovely too and very accommodating.

Easy walk to the beach and all of the bars/restaurants on Ft Lauderdale beach. Clean room, and easy check in. The woman at reception was awesome, checking in to see if I needed anything and even let me check out at noon due to my late flight. Love the Fortuna!

Dollar for dollar, probably the best value hotel in the neighborhood. Stayed here 3 years running. Staff are excellent. Block from the beach. Perfect for Spring breaks and vacations.

The motel was ok. The biggest issue people may consider as a major deal breaker is that there is no security features on the door other than the standard lock with a keypad on it. No dead bolt, no chain. The rooms were clean, beds were decently comfortable. We had two king rooms on our reservation. Both of them had queen size fitted sheets stretched over the edge that fell off every night (because they weren’t the right size). The pool was definitely not clean or ready for anyone to swim in it. The photos were extremely misleading about that. We stayed for 3 nights and had absolutely no maid service at all. For the price we paid/night there should definitely have been maid service. The hotel is clearly a budget hotel, but without the budget price. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Bed was comfortable. It was good to have Roku access for tv. Bathroom was very dated probably 80’s when it was last updated. Swimming pool was not usable with dirty green water. There was access to another pool within walking distance. I did not like this inconvenience.

Truly enjoyed my stay at fortuna hotel. I was a solo traveller and felt safe here. I went around spring break and the guests ranged from young adults and families to older couples. Fortuna is in a great location right across the street from the W Hotel and just steps away from the beach and nice restaurants as well as a 15 min walk to las olas. The room was clean with everything you needed (toiletries, towels, tv, microwave, mini fridge). The hotel also offers free beach towels you can just grab at the front and beach chairs you can grab, located by the back pool. Note that this is a virtually managed hotel and the office is only staffed until 4pm. I was provided the key codes for check in a few hours upon arrival and all went smoothy with management sending me messages to check up on me throughout my stay… I suggest booking through Expedia though because others struggled with not getting their code/not getting a response. All in all, great hotel.

This is a great beach hotel a block from the ocean. It is so clean. The staff work hard to keep it clean. It smelled like bleach, Lysol, and salt fresh air in a good way. They have an office person on-site 9 to 4 and they are great and a chat after those hours. They check to see if you need anything. They let you sow your luggage before and after checkout. They have an amenities cabinet with hygiene supplies, toilet paper and paper towels, beach and bath towels, coffee,cutlery, dish soap, scrubbies, everything, they have a collection of properties so you have several pools to choose from. I have already rebooked and I just got home last night. The Fortuna is a great hotel.

There was a smart lock, but it was nonfunctional, there was a lock box on the out side of the room, unfortunately the key was missing, I informed the property that I was going to arriv

It was my room first of all my TV did not work the tub has chipped paint and there was a roach crawling across the top of the bed I had no wash clothes the coffee was horrible the staff was unreasonable after 2pm and the floor had not been swept or mopped very very disappointed and for all the money I spent for the room for a whole week it could have been way better

I arrived late on February 5 and the property uses self check-in. From the moment I pulled up, it was immediately clear that the exterior looked nothing like the photos advertised online. The property appeared poorly maintained and gave a very different impression from the listing. Although the room itself appeared technically clean, it had a stark, institutional feel — dim lighting, worn finishes, and an overall atmosphere that was unsettling and nothing like the welcoming images presented on Expedia. The discrepancy between the listing photos and the actual condition was significant. I did not feel comfortable or safe staying there and left shortly after entering the room. I was forced to find alternative accommodations in the middle of the night at additional expense. I contacted the property immediately to request a cancellation due to the clear misrepresentation. I was told someone would follow up. It has now been over a week. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, I have received no response whatsoever. The listing photos do not accurately reflect the current condition or atmosphere of this property. Based on my experience, I believe a refund is justified. I would strongly caution others to review recent guest photos carefully before booking.

Beds and sleeping experience was not very comfortable. But the location is incredible. The front desk has exceptional customer service and does her best to help with your concerns.

The room was clean and tidy. I did not encounter any staff. The instructions were on spot. It was a fair price in a very expensive area for lodging.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms are quite outdated, but the one main negative was that my room did not have heat and temperatures at night were in low 30s a few nights, so the room got cold. I did message the office and they said they would bring extra blankets but the maid service never dropped them off, so I mentioned it again and the day it actually started warming up the maid service dropped off an extra blanket. The location is very convenient for beach access.

It was very comfortable. Everything was clean and neat. Bed was big and i slept perfectly. Only thing is that there was very cool weather and in late night cold wind would come in from the windows, since they were not sliding windows. Other than that, everything was very good.
