Great location and restaurants. Nice that there was a freezer with the in-room refrigerator. Rooms were spacious with a small kitchenette. Only complaint was that there wasn’t any hot water for showers in the morning.

Other than the location on the beach, i would not recommend staying here. It is very noisy, the rooms are old fashioned and more like a motel not a hotel, the beds are horrible.

Nice hotel on the beach! Great for families but do not expect 5 star accommodations. It is a nice beach hotel in an awesome location that offers multiple restaurant's and bars.

The beach is beautiful, white sand, clear water and light waves. We felt the prices for food were very reasonable, you can get 2 hotdogs and a bag of chips for $7.00, a full breakfast for $16.00, drinks were priced reasonably as well. We are from New York were they charge a lot more. For you smokers out there, you can smoke on your terrace, they leave you an ashtray, you can also smoke at all outdoor restaurants & bars. We had a great time, i dont understand why there were so many negative reviews, this place is GREAT, we are looking forward to our next trip there.

My only complaint is the music 24/7

We stayed here during June 2026. The location is great and the beach is amazing. Hotel is old but rooms are clean. However, hotel feels like an industrial complex with all the AC units around. The staff was helpful but not smiling. The chairs and umbrellas in the beach were managed by another company, which worked from 9am to 5pm. So, you could suddenly find your bags and towels on the sand if you decide to take a walk and come back to your spot after 5pm. The experience was overall disappointing. We were there during sea turtle nesting season, so all the lights in the island was non-white, which was cool to experience.

The music being played outside was so loud we could hear it I. The rooms all daylong. Hard to hold a conversation when we were sitting on our balcony.

We liked the rooms all faced the water . We were able to walk all around to the shops and restaurants in the vicinity as we did not have a car and it wasn't really needed. I am not sure why the pool was in front of building as the gulf was not visible. Also be prepared to pay for chairs and umbrella daily . Overall great trip water and sand were amazing

We booked the room for $728 for the three days- so far, my card has been charged- $1290.00. I would recommend going straight through the hotel website- I am waiting for them to look into...

The hotel claimed that they have private beach. This is not true. The hotel owes a few parking lots adjacent to their parking lot. This parking is used by public to park their cars and go to the beach. This is public beach, not the hotel beach. I asked one of the receptionists to have the bars downstairs to lower the music volume. She said that this is public place, and she cannot control music volume. The music plays from 9 am in the morning to 10pm at night. You cannot even hear the sound of ocean. Other than terrible horrible loud music, this is decent hotel. In addition to that, people in the bar smoke like crazy, and you can smell it on the balcony.

Perfect location right on the beach. Room was clean enough. The room never cooled down we had to sleep without sheets to keep from sweating the AC unit would read 72 and the lowest you can turn it to was 70. And it most certainly was hotter than that. The Dehumidifier would beep frequently to be emptied. It would beep at night which was annoying waking up our kids. The pool area was cute but not enough shade about 3 umbrellas so you had to be quick for when someone left to get it. Definitely geared towards adults only and not families with littles.

We stayed for two nights and found the overall experience to be average at best, falling far short of resort quality. Our room had several issues: the bed was incredibly squeaky, there was only one side table, and the loud music from the bar blared almost non-stop. When we called reception about an additional side table, they promised to look into it, but nothing was ever done. The connecting door to the unit on the left was not properly sealed and we could hear the conversations. Save your money on the downstairs coffee, too—it was the worst I've ever tasted. You're better off going to the local gas station.

The service was very good, the place was clean, and they keep the beach very well maintained. The atmosphere is calm and family‑friendly. The only aspect that might be negative for some people is that they don’t allow coolers on the beach or for you to bring your own umbrellas. But they do rent umbrellas and chairs, so for me it wasn’t a problem. Overall, the place is highly recommended. My family and I loved it.

The view was amazing, and the room had been renovated. The common areas were rough. The bedding and linens were sub par. The pillows were flat as pancakes, sheets were thin and towels were rough.

Rooms were great, but they have a bar on ground floor that has huge speakers posted on 4 post and the inside speakers, which it is open.They play extreme loud music all day into the night. We were right about it.You could not even watch t v.It was so horribly loud. Call down he told us it would be off by nine thirty. 10 to 10 called back, it will be off by 10 . Call back after ten told them I was calling the police.They shut it off. Next morning, I called and talked to manager. They did move us at the farther end of the hotel. You could still hear it, but the room didnt vibrat.So any one is going to hear this night and day depending on how close to the bar area.Your rooms are as to how much worse it will be. Plus no coolers on their part of beach or at pool. Other than that it was good.

Upon arrival, the rooms were very, very nice staff. Very nice food. Great you really don’t have to go anywhere once you park your car. We loved it. See you guys in August.

Music on BLAST from 10-10 daily, speakers within feet of rooms… not going to be hearing sound of waves sitting on the balcony sitting on the cheap plastic chair. The doors slamming, walls are thin, partying kids pick it up after 10 - it is ‘advertised’ as a lively atmosphere = constant noise. Street traffic adds another level and rooms on the north side get the music from across the street on one side and LaniKai DJ tunes from the bar on the beach side of the room. May not be in the room during the day but at night you’ll be wishing you weren’t. ‘Get what you pay for …. At this place you’ll get less - it’s not a bargain and it’s not a ‘resort’.

We try to go every year because the view is great and the suites are roomy. The food on the upper deck was great every time.

We had a phenomenal time at Lani Kai! So much to do on-site, and everything else is a short walk down the street. The food at their restaurants was delicious and the staff so friendly. Very happy that we chose this resort for our vacation. Even got to talk to the owner down at the beach bar and he was so nice and great to talk to! Can’t wait to come back.

No foot wash when you come off beach. Loud music until 10:00pm Need to rent chairs for beach. Air conditioner in room was real loud. Hard to sleep. The room was clean. Front desk was not very pleasant or helpfull.

Most of the staff was polite. There was one guy on night shift that worked the front desk that acted like I inconvenienced him just by asking a question.

THE A/C NOT COLD ENOUGH AND THE PILLOWS WERE HORRIBLE

Perfect spot at the perfect place. I enjoyed every minute of it. You can always find flaws if you are looking but I was happy with my stay so I didn’t run into any problems. It was a great value so I was pleased.

Great location right on the beach. Basic room but the beds are terrible, very low to the ground and uncomfortable. Property is not well maintained externally. They allow smoking everywhere including outside dining areas. I found it to be offensive while trying to eat and there are cigarette butts everywhere. Staff were pleasant and helpful, beach area very nice, good location, walking distance to most areas on the strip.

One of our biggest concerns was the lack of security. On our first day, multiple individuals who were not registered guests were freely roaming the hotel floors and using guest areas, including the pool. Their behavior became disruptive enough that police had to get involved. We expected better security and access control for paying guests. The hotel also seemed very disorganized. Staff members often gave conflicting information, and simple requests felt like an inconvenience. Housekeeping is only available upon request, and there is no set timeframe for when your room will actually be cleaned. The most frustrating issue involved pool towels. After returning our towels the night before, we requested two clean replacements. After multiple calls, only one towel was delivered, and we were told we had already received two. When we went to the front desk for the second towel, staff became defensive and repeatedly warned us about being charged for unreturned towels, despite the fact that we had returned ours. A manager even joked that we could “steal all the towels we want and won’t be charged,” which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. Unfortunately, we do not feel this experience justifies the price we paid for.

Ocean front Beach View! GREAT place. With sand everywhere, my room was super clean, swept, and mopped. The walls are a fresh Gary with White and the furnishings were just fien. I did have a microwave with a refrigerator in my room so I was able to pick up snacks and drinks and some breakfast items to keep fresh. That was very convenient. The staff was very happy and helpful. The first floor italian restaaurant was VERY good.I had a seafood linguine. VERY tasy shrimp and crap with a cream sauce. On the 6th floor, the top floor is another bar and restaurant area. They have live music there every night. On the ground floor were two other bars for grabbing drinks and a live band during the late night. The beaches were cleaned and combed everyday. I would recommend this pace. I'm pretty sure its half the price of Margaritaville next door. They all just go down the same beach. I'll go again but I'll definitely try to get the end room on the north end, like 521, 421, 321, I think those are the corner units. On Saturday the 30th, a dolphon came in and started swimming around us. He was having a ball!

Loved the beach

The beach itself was what I liked; everything was very expensive, and the chairs and umbrellas were not included in the price—not to mention the parking. I would not repeat my visit to this hotel. I left a day early, around 1:00 PM, and they didn't refund even half the cost since I hadn't stayed the night.

The resort was very nice. It is just a few steps and then you are on the beach. Every room has a balcony with ocean views. The property was kept very clean and all staff we interacted with were pleasant and friendly. Housekeeping is not done every day so you need to request it if you want it. They cleaned our room within an hour when we requested it so they are quick. As with any resort there are some extra fees, the beach chairs and umbrellas they set up have a daily cost but they let you bring your own chairs and umbrellas if you want. They do provide beach towels. I would definitely return to this resort.

Our room was great, although it would have been helpful to have a broom and dustpan available to help keep the floors free of sand during our stay. One experience that stood out in a negative way occurred at the pool. A staff member came in and began inspecting my son's sandals because another child had reported a pair missing. We explained that the shoes belonged to my son and even had photos showing him wearing them. Despite this, the staff member still had the other child check them before determining they were not the missing sandals. While we understand wanting to help locate lost items, the situation felt a bit uncomfortable and probably could have been handled more tactfully. On a very positive note, we absolutely loved the Sundeck Restaurant. The food was great, and every staff member we encountered there was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service. They were a highlight of our stay! We bought a few items to use in the ocean that we couldn't take back on the plane with us so we left them for others. It would be awesome if there was a place to "stash" this type of stuff for people who need to leave stuff behind. Then others can enjoy it. I know of a couple other places on the beach that do this! Overall great place, great beach and close to the square.

This was true. The following days were much calmer. The property was located in a great spot with beautiful views. Everything was recently renovated and clean. Staff inside the hotel were very friendly. I am unsure if the hotel is the one that places chairs on the beach in front of the property and rents them or an outside company, but this was a bummer as they take up all of the space in front of the hotel so that if you don't rent their chairs, you have no space to set up your own chairs beach front. You're also not allowed to take coolers with food or drink down to the beach in an attempt to force you to buy food and drinks from the hotel. This felt very sleazy to us and we didn't spend much time on the beach as a result. The pool was nice and never crowded. I would recommend the hotel if you're okay with the whole money hungry capitalism thing. Personally, it's not really my thing, and I won't stay here again.

I’ve been coming to this property for almost 17 years. The last time was before the hurricane obviously it took him a while to open up, but I came back and every state that I have is just as good as the first one a great place to stay for the money the amenities are awesome. The location is incredible. The beaches are beautiful and the three restaurants are outstanding.

Trash not empty, had to get pillows, towels, and take our own trash out, it was an awful experience. For my birthday I talked up how great a resort you were and brought 3 friends for my birthday trip to celebrate as I have done years prior and I was embarrassed. So disappointed and realized we will go else where as this was not good!

This hotel is amazing!! The staff, the view, the music, and the FOOD!! This was our second time here and the Sundeck and the Italian Restaurant were worth the wait. There is no need to even leave the hotel! Can't wait to be back!! Thank you!

Food was good, wait staff on the beach was fast for drinks. Did not expect to have to pay for beach chairs everyday, and then they take them at 5 everyday. Too early! Close to restaurants and bars and many food trucks. Rent a golf cart across the street to go see the island. Eat also on the sundeck. The little food shops on the ground floor are good

I found the place to be well-organized. The housekeepers were very helpful. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the rooms need some updates to their phone charging system.

We love staying at the Lani Kai. We’ve been staying there for years, and we are so happy they are fully functioning again. The restaurants are all amazing. The rooms are very spacious. And the views from the balcony are breathtaking!! We look forward to our next stay. Hopefully for July 4th weekend.

Overall, the resort is very good. Great location, great beach warmth, everything that you need and then some great little getaway. If you're looking to find a resort that will take care of you in everything included the restaurants were great, the people were awesome. Button in every resort, food is always a little bit less to par than I would like to, but still.\nI would go back in 3 months.Absolutely enjoyed my time there

I liked how accessible the beach is from this property and that each room is oceanfront and has a balcony. Great location within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc. Discounted beach rentals were a plus!

The beach was great. The multiple places to get food were great. Very busy on weekends. Had other guests smoking weed and the smell got in our room not a fault of the resort. Parking can be a bit of an issue when busy.

Our overall stay for 7 days in the King Suite was awesome. The amenities were great, the room was clean and spacious. The staff were so nice. The restaurants food was awesome, especially the surf and turf! Loved being right on the beach which was kept very clean. Very affordable! We had an awesome stay!

Beautiful view. Charged a resort fee but don’t necessarily know what it entails. That does not include an umbrella and chair, and pool closes at 9. They also do not have a fitness center. Also, there is a $20 per day to park which you have to have a car if you’re going to stay at Fort Myers for guests also. The top restaurant was really good. Some of the infrastructure could be further addressed, because some things look odd. I loved the views that I had and Lani Kai. It was part of a lovely experience. There are things that can improved on.

Now to the negatives. The hotel charges $20 a day for guests to park which in itself is offensive. The general public (non guests) can park in the hotel parking lot as well for $20. So non guests pay the same amount to park as guests and take up parking spaces of paid guests. My first day there I sat in my car for over an hour waiting for a parking spot to open up. How does that make sense???? Hotel guests pay $11 per beach chair and umbrella. So 2 chairs and one umbrella cost $33 per day. Im not as annoyed about paying for chairs and an umbrella but would be much less annoyed if it was built into the price when you book. Lastly, the hotel blasts obnoxious music on the beach from 10am to 10pm. Blasting music til 10pm on a weeknight is uncalled for. This was my 5th trip to Ft Meyers beach. I love the area. I would like to support the area in the rebuild but may look for another option on my next visit.

Amazing place

This property checks all the boxes I was looking for amazing ppl food bars and amazing views of the ocean. Many other options within walking distance of the resort to shop and eat. All the bartenders sever were exceptional. Can't wait to visit again. Thanks Lani Kai

Excellent! allowed me to check in 3 hours early. Staff was courteous and very friendly. Rooms were clean. Great view from the 5th floor. Ready to go back. Crab legs were the best.

It is not the most clean or up to date! Housekeeping staff is not helpful, we had to wait an entire day to get towels, wash clothes and toilet paper. Beds are not comfortable and don’t expect to get restful sleep. Location to beach access was perfect.

The separate freezer unit from the fridge was a welcome amenity - not found that before in our travels.

The location is fantastic. The property offers a lot of restaurants which is very convenient. The beach is awesome. The rooms smell very musty. The gap under the door allows for a lot of bugs to come in. We put a towel to stop them from coming in. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Negatives: LOUD music from 9am to 10pm. Our room is on the 2nd floor so can’t really sit in our balcony to enjoy the beach view for too long. This hotel feels more like a motel. Bathroom felt old and dirty. Room next door had young kids crying and screaming till around 11pm (shortly after loud music stopped). Bathroom located on ground floor was very dirty. Overall, will not stay at Lani Kai again.

Lo que no me gusto: 1. La piscina chiquita y fea, con un aspecto de vieja 2. El parqueo es pequeno y no hay control, se parquea cualquiera, lo que hace es que no puedas salir del hotel por temor al regreso de no encontrar parqueo. 3. Hay que pagar las tombonas y la sombrilla x un costo de 33 dolares 2 tumbonas y una sombrilla. No hay decsuento por ser huesped del hotel. Tener presente que no es un hotel para el descanso familiar, porque viene mucha gente que no estan hospedados en el hotel, muchas embarcaciones llegan a la orilla, para disfrutar de la musica y de las ofertas gastronomicas. La calificacion de "Resort" no se ajusta a las condiciones del Hotel. No obstante a todo lo expuesto, no se pasa mal, solo que la expectativa al decir que es un Resort, se queda por debajo.

You need to do better with serving up food on the beach, the food was nasty the service was crappy and the food should be place on a closed plate not a paper box were all the sauce from the food gets sucked up from the box, then your bartenders were nasty and threw the money at me like if I was a nothing ,I go to lani Kia at least 5 times a year and how I was treated it's unexceptable,, I'll give you guys a break and I'll take my money to pink shell were the out door service is awesome there.

Very friendly staff, from the front desk to the bars & restaurants & cleaning service. Very large clean room with a beautiful view right on the beach. Shops & Restaurant in walking distance. Here's what I didn't like, No full length mirror in our room. You have to request clean towels and cleaning service daily. The pool is on the side of the building in a parking lot with a big wall around it. You HAVE to rent chairs and umbrellas because there is nowhere to sit except the bar. It was $36 per day for 2 chais and 1 umbrella and they ASK you to tip on top of that. Overall it was a great vacation and a great trip.

The staff at this place were EXTREMELY rude except for the staff that checked us in one out! We had breakfast at the Sundeck, the food was not made fresh it was prepared ahead of time and there was a confrontation between a staff member and a customer in we actually thought that someone was going to get hurt! Pretty unbelievable that we witnessed this, it made us feel very uncomfortable! This resort is EXTREMELY noisy so if you want a place to relax and be treated with respect from the staff, Lani Kai is not the place for you! On Sunday half the restaurants closed early! The bartenders down at the beach bar were standing around and totally ignored us!! (SO RUDE)!! Grateful we only stayed for one nice!! I would not waste my hard earned money at this place unless you like loud noisy rooms and rude unprofessional staff!!

From the moment I stepped out of my Uber, I was immersed in a perfect haven for my solo trip. The staff were helpful and friendly. My room was clean and updated. The view from my balcony was spectacular. The sweet young ladies who waited on us at the beach were truly lovely. Viviana on the rooftop was incredible. Love that they provided two beach towels. The Italian restaurant is delicious. I would most certainly visit Lani Kai again.

The staff and location were amazing! I loved the nostalgic Florida feel of the resort and the rooms have been nicely updated. The restaurants and nightly entertainment were wonderful- we didn’t have to leave if we didn’t want too!!! Very minimal, but I didn’t like the pillows.

Beautiful view but being on the second floor above the bar, wasn’t our choice but no one asked if this location would work for us either. It was very noisy.

The huge room overlooking the ocean was beautiful and clean, but it was the staff that made our trip. Everyone, no matter their role was kind and professional. Will stay there again when I’m Fort Meyers.

I really like staying there over there for three nights. The beds were comfortable and clean and the staff was really nice reminded me of the the '70s Florida look. And also the breakfast at the Rooftop restaurant was amazing. I would rate it a 10 for sure

This is a hard one. We loved the location. The room was very clean & updated. We loved that they provided beach towels & we didn’t have to pack those! We could walk to everything! But the staff… they couldn’t get on the same page. We were told we could stop

The beach front hotel was great and amazing view but you pay for a resort fee and also have to pay for chairs/umbrella still to use on the beach and the people that rent it out come early in the am and reserve many spots on the beach. I had to move out of the way.

The beds were awful. The coffee shop doesn’t open until 7:00 and the coffee maker in the room was ridiculous. Since this was a “resort” being changed $50 a day for chairs and umbrella was a bit high. We had no hot water for two days. The staff was pleasant and the beach was beautiful. It is more of a party hotel than a resort.

The balcony view was fabulous but unfortunately everything else mediocre including breakfast. The daily $20 resort only provides you with 2 free waters and beach towels but not parking or beach chairs. We will not be returning.

Thank God we were only there 2 nights the second night the entire hotel had no hot water. It was hot when we left though. Other than that and the food was ok, it was good.

The view is wonderful. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant and the bar nearest to the pool. Our room was comfortable and loved the coffee pot, frig/freezer and microwave. The restrooms setup is odd but it works! Affordable. Would definitely go back.

The restaurant on top was beautiful. The room could be nice. The TV did not work correctly. There was also no hot water due to a maintenance issue in the hotel. The lack of willingness to help is why they are getting a poor review. I checked out early and went somewhere else. Not being able to shower after swimming in the Gulf at a beach hotel is a big problem. Overall I would never stay here again, as the facilities lack maintenance.

The location was fabulous, and the beach is absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept. They’re in there plenty of places for food, drink, and entertainment.

Our shower was not cleaned and the dehumidifier in the room alarms extremely loud every morning at 5 am because it’s full but there’s a sign on it asking not to turn off the dehumidifier. The staff were very friendly and really seemed to enjoy working there. Loved the view from the balcony and the room was modern.

Rentals for jet ski, golf cards and other things right on the beach as well. EXCELLENT LOCATION! No long hallways to reach your room. Quick service. A must for relaxing as well as enjoying the hot Florida sun!!!

Everything about this place is top notch! Staff is very professional and accommodating! Food is delicious and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Housekeeping was exceptional! A must visit!!

Wonderful staff- very helpful, friendly place to be. Be prepared to hear some sound and music and dancing and laughter but as long as you’re OK with that, the views were beautiful. It’s close to the ocean. Staff is amazing and it was a fun place to stay.

Many on site food and beverage options. Pool was warm. The room was perfect. Was greeted many times by several people. Next time we will stay longer. Great place!

I would think that a hotel based on the beach would have a check in time much earlier that 3: oclock ,so the visitors could use more of their stay doing beach stuff. By the time we checked in at 3 most of the afternoon in over.

Loved the resort and amenities

The bed was a mattress on plywood, 2 feet from the ground. Very uncomfortable- deal breaker. The smell of marajuana was daily, all through the day. Had to close the balcony doors. Deal breaker. The pool- no eat or drink unless water. Was told my daughter had to throw away her shaved ice from there little side restaurant. She was HOT and we were even sitting on a back lawn chair. No snacks allowed for kids to munch on. NO icy adult beverages allowed. Deal breaker. We were moms looking to relax and enjoy cold beverages, while our children swam. You’d have to go sit at the loud bar area. One pool guy I fact comes and snoops around your belongings. Evening hours ALL the hoodlums come through there. Dirty disgusting lower ground level bathroom. It was beyond terrible. Over flowing toilets. Clogged. No toilwtvpaper. Men in the women’s bathroom stalls with women…. So inappropriate! I told staff twice. Others mentioned the above to staff Was laughed at one time, and was told there was nothing she could do. Made the day to being our children to our room for potty breaks. Not sure why they call this a resort? On top of our room fee, each vehicle costed 250$ for parking. Rent a beach umbrellas , fee. We had 4 rooms in our group. That’s too much extra fee for parking. Sun deck - poor service.

Things to think about before heading there: *The beds/pillows are not comfortable, and the quilts are a little thin and scratchy *There is no beach towel service, so you'll need to exchange them at the front desk to give you clean ones (the towels are thin) * The tap water does not taste good (and I not a tap water snob) *There is no privacy for the lower floor rooms because there are tables for restaurants, and corn hole games, right outside your room making spending time on your balcony an issue (special requests are not followed) * Security gates are left open by the pool area which leads from the street which allows non guests to wander in * The pool is small & seating looks small. It seems fine (I did not use it) *Hotel does need some overall maintenance *There is not a concierge room to clean up after checkout * The onsite cafe is limited in selection & closes at 11:30a * I would say this is suited more for adults * Pro tip: Stop at Walmart /CVS on your way to pick up toiletries - no real stores to get them near hotel ** After checkout, we bought a day pass at Margaritaville for $75 pp and wow! It was so worth it!!

Beach chair and umbrella rentals did not lower rental cost if purchasing a chair later in the day. We did not accommodate in that matter.

It’s very old school Florida, which I like, nice but not too fancy. Lots of good food choices and a very nice beach. Close to lots of fun spots. My sister and I 67 & 68 had a wonderful time.

The bar ...the beach... The people on the beach with the activities were extremely courteous and helpful... I don't understand how come four people in a room can't get four cups of coffee... We asked several times and got shut down.. and when I asked for maid service they didn't even sweep the floor... Why can't brooms and dustpans be provided for sand.. almost had to beg for toilet paper... Other than that we had a great time!

Didn’t need room cleaned just dirty towels removed and replaced with clean. Never happened in our 4 day stay. I asked for a clean fitted sheet and 2 clean towels on day 2 and it took 2 requests to get them. No one ever emptied trash or offered clean towels.

Didn’t do any of the restaurants except the little cafe. Very friendly staff but breakfast items were minimal. The beach view was excellent. The drinks were awesome. The room was nice. But Guess for the money I expected a little more. Definitely are paying for the beach view and access. I had a great time!

The property is right on the beach. The room set up was nice. Beds were super hard. It took forever to get hot water in shower. We had the sign to clean room on so it would be stocked with new towels and so forth but the did not stock tp. We called 3 times to get stocked. Location is great.

The staff was fantastic. The Sun Deck restaurant is great. The sunset was view from there is amazing. Jean our waitress was the best! The beach was very clean and the music they play is great. Most places close by 10pm but the Tiki Lighthouse is open until 2am. The Whale is walking distance and has great food. Overall a very enjoyable time.

Not what we would consider a 4 star hotel, for sure. I feel all the pictures presented are misleading. It was built in 1978, and I felt like I was stepping back in time. Food, mediocre at best, restroom reeked of urine even after I cleaned with Clorox wipes daily. Very noisy a/c unit as were the rooms next door and people outside. It sounded like they were standing in our room. Would not recommend. The beach is nice, chairs and umbrelllas can be rented for small amount less than general public. We def won’t go back…

Everything you need is there

Most everything was ok. Nothing was great. The only way to watch tv was to lay in bed. There wasn't a table I could eat at. No microwave to warm anything up. I only asked for my room to be cleaned twice. I would have thought my sheets could have been washed both times, but they weren't. There was not a full-length mirror in the room. The dehumidifier was loud and I had to empty it daily. I had a beautiful view from my balcony. I was on the top floor of rooms, so I was awaken every morning from tables and chairs being moved around on the sundeck. I don't think a person staying at Lani Kai should have to pay to rent a beach chair. Awesome wait staff for bringing drinks to the beach. When I checked in I was told I had to pay for parking in the lot. Then I was told she would see what she could do. I think I was going to be taken advantage to pay $20 a day to park where I was staying. Not Cool. Very nice shop attached to the hotel in and around the back.

We had a nice clean room on the 1st floor with an ocean view, but from 8-5 the view was mostly obscured by 3 rows of large umbrellas all across the hotel property for people to rent. Staff were not unfriendly but they didn’t seem eager to please either, and some were indifferent. It is a very noisy hotel, with music going from 10-9 and it’s very loud (we couldn’t sit in our balcony when it was cranked up). Had I known this was party central when I was booking I would not have booked here since I prefer a less noisy experience. There were a lot of amenities like a pool, bars, a few restaurants, and tables to sit just off the beach. No outdoor beach shower that I could see though which was strange. The biggest issue for us was to be informed at check in that in addition to paying a resort fee of $20/day on top of our room rate we had to pay $20/day to park, which also should have been disclosed at booking. This parking fee doesn’t guarantee a spot though, even with overflow parking across the street. There was a kiosk across the street for the public to pay to park there also, so one night we came back from dinner and there were no available spots to park. We driver around for a while before finally finding someone who was leaving and took that spot. I don’t think I should pay to park at a resort that I’m spending a lot to stay and spending additional money already, and I certainly don’t think I should pay and not be guaranteed parking space. I wouldn’t go back here.

The Lani Kai looks great after hurricane repairs. The grounds in back, the pool area, and redesigned bars on the ground level look great. Rooms were nice and clean and the staff everywhere were very attentive and accommodating. Jayne in the Sun Deck and Island View restaurant is terrific. She works 14 hour days by choice waiting tables during the day and bartending at night and always has a smile on her face. Just a super friendly person. Great jib Lani Kai! Can’t wait til next time.

Stayed here for a quick weekend get away with my husband, I had seen some mixed reviews but it was reasonably priced and was right on the beach, figured why not. Unfortunately I didn’t take into consideration that it was spring break! Not quite the relaxing getaway I had imagined. Lol. I have to say the beach was beautiful and it was a great view sitting on our balcony. The restaurants are decent and there is a beach bar and small food vendors downstairs but it is open to the public making it pretty busy at times. They have a dj at night, and is perfect if your looking for that kind of vibe. With spring break it was a younger crowd, not sure if that’s the norm. Definitely seemed like the party spot on the beach. Not a big deal, we like to have fun, however, the rooms are not insulated and when trying to retreat to your room to have a peaceful night, all you could hear was the music bumping not only from the bar below, but also the restaurant across the street which made it difficult to relax and enjoy TV, just a blend of noise when sitting in the room. It is an a central location, which makes it convenient and like I said the direct beach access is nice, but nothing fancy about the rooms, definitely just ok, and the noise was just a bit too much for us middle age folks lol. If it was in my 20s, I’d probably go back but since that’s not the case, I have to say we will not be returning.

Was okay. Nice enough. What turned me off was housekeeping coming in and saying I WILL be charged for using their washcloth to take off my makeup. Showed my makeup wipes and my own makeup washcloth. She then pointed out a brown spot on pillowcase. What in the actual h*ll! Stayed at 1000’s of hotels and have never been treated that way.

This place is the last place I would ever spend my hard earned money ever again! As the people we met on the beach put it, this place is rachet! Our check in started with the clerk answering the phone and denying a guest extra pillows, "No. We dont have extra pillows." Our room smells strongly of mold, which is why I am guessing there is a moldy dehumidifier in there that they want running continuously. Went to the beach on day 2 and they took down our umbrella due to wind, but the 2 resorts on either side of had theirs up. The wind had not changed all day. I had heard the guy saying that they started picking up empty chairs at 3. Weird that this sudden wind gust started exactly at 3pm. Many people left right after they took away the umbrellas... gee, I guess their plan worked. This place is meant for the 20-somethings coming to get drunk and party. If you think it is any kind of a resort you will get pampered and feel special staying, you need to look elsewhere. Loud music until 10-11pm blaring from the bar downstairs, drunk people everywhere. Nothing like the places we are use to staying.

If you had it go to the front desk to ask for towels they had an attitude. The beach chair attendants that were associated with the resort are rude, and made inappropriate comments to the teenagers. Staff hounded you if they noticed you with a water at pool. I came to relax not be bothered over silly things. Not much hospitality.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. I'm not sure why they have a DJ every night for no one. Our room was above the main level bar and the music was loud. I talked to the bartender; he referred me to the DJ. The DJ blew me off; he was playing for no customers. I went to the front desk where I found little help. Asked for the manager and was to that he was too busy dealing with drunks at the top floor bar. This was on a Wednesday night! Thursday night was more of the same, but at least there were 4 customers.

The Front desk was amazing at checkin Very seamless They gave us three drink tickets for being VIP however I don’t know how we made the grade. All in all I would recommend this facility to anyone who has interest in coming to fort Myers beach ! The weather was subpar with cold but they did everything in their power to overcome that ! Let’s see where to start. The beds were extremely small. Our feet were hanging off of the beds way too much public access to a resort that we paid a lot of money to stay at. We had to wait through a crowd of drunken people when we checked in that were off of the beach, not seen in the resort. Also, we were never informed that we would have to pay for parking at staying at a resort that is usually included in the price that you pay so at the end of our stay, we had to pay for parking. We also had to pay for towels every day that we did not use and you have to pay for chairs and umbrellas on the beach. If you go on the beach, even though it is the resort umbrellas and chairs, and it was over $40.00 for the day also bars in the upstairs and downstairs stated that they closed at 10 PM and music was still continued to play up into one to 2 AM in the morning following the next morning 6:37 AM in the morning delivery trucks and the sound of chairs be moved around at the top of your head. This is not a vacation. We came to rest and enjoy and relax. We could not sleep due to all this chaos going on the whole time we were there so if you’re looking for a very relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of an everyday chaotic life. This is not the place to go if you’re looking for a place to party and drink all night long this is it right on point. It was like a local motorcycle hangout as well. Be prepared to pay for a lot of extra stuff that was never mentioned when you booked

We LOVED the bar and hanging out at night. Crystal, Jason and Mark made our entire trip. They were absolutely amazing and such a fun time!! Sydney on the beach was the best! She ran her booty off! Our room was not clean. The beds were so uncomfortable, we were looking into leaving and checking into a different location. It felt like we were sleeping on an air mattress. There were glass rings and public hair on the sink. There was poop in the restroom in the wall near the light switch. The floor was filthy when we arrived. You need to have brooms in the rooms. The TV would not stay on. We had 1 roll of toilet paper and could not get a housekeeper that could understand what we were saying so we had to get it from the carts ourselves.

The beach view was fantastic. Room was clean. You need to ask for certain items daily if you stay for a while. Service was quick. Our 5th floor room was pretty quiet with some noise. Some lower floors could be louder from the music. There is some construction in the area, but not a problem that I saw. We used the restaurants in house a lot. Lots of activity and places to eat and drink that are within walking distance including times square. There was a free tram down the Estero boulevard and back. We will be coming back.

Room was dated and looked like it was slapped together. Bed mattress was old and lumpy It was cold and thermostat in heat mode could not be set above 65 degrees. Parking was very limited and had to park across the street. I would not recommend this hotel.

Every morning at 6:45 the trash truck came in to the parking lot which all the doors were facing and when the truck backed up the back up alert, went off for approximately seven minutes. The DJ started at noon every day and went until 9:00 PM. If you were at the pool, you couldn’t even hear yourself speak because the music was so loud. The first night we were woke up from our neighbors who were having a party at 1 am so that was not pleasant as we had been traveling all day. All of the outside doors face the parking lot/ main road and it is not soundproof, and you could see light around the trim of the door when the door was closed. If you didn’t rent a beach chair from the hotel then you had to be ten feet away from the chairs, either closer to the water or behind the chairs, even though it’s the private beach of the hotel. That is nowhere advertised, not even on the rental board that has the QR code to scan. Will not be going back to this hotel.

We were visiting for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Th Room was great, the view was spectacular! Access to the beach was so easy and made the experience that much better. Staff was sweet and always making sure we were happy! Lani Kai has all of the amenities you could ever ask for! We will definitely return :)

Excellent place to stay!

The room was very clean with a beautiful Gulf view. The sand was beeautiful and white. The saff was very accomodating. The roof top restaurant was great for breakfast with a view. Sadly the rooftop bar wasn't open due to the weather being unseasonly cold. The best part of of our stay was Grace's Trattoria located on the first floor. The food was second to none. We could have eaten anywhere in town, but chose to have dinner ther 4 out of 7 nights. The nights we ate elsewhere, we stopped in to grab dessert to go. Had a wonderful time. Wish we had warmer weather to have really enjoyed the facilities.

We stayed during a cold snap. The room had no heat until about the middle of our stay when they got it repaired. The room was old but have been revamped so it was not too bad. The Italian restaurant was good and the ambience was nice. The staff was very nice. The parking was not so good. I had to park in the Overflow parking across the street one night and we nearly got hit in the traffic. The traffic there can be horrible.

Very clean, nice staff. Great food and shops right there. The only problem was the guy in charge of the chairs on the beach, he was very rude!! He asked if we wanted to rent the chairs we were sitting in and when I said no because it was too cold. He said then get off my chair NOW!! Like Wow.

The room was clean and we had an end unit (401) so we had an extra large balcony. 2 large tv's. It was far enough from main drag so we did not have to deal with loud drunk people. Employees were kind, welcoming, and helpful. A few issues; it took 25 minutes to get hot water to the room, bath towels were very small, dishes were not microwaves safe. I would book a stay there again for sure.

The room was in good condition and the staff was very kind. The room however is set up where there is not much privacy. The vanity/sink area are not enclosed, so anyone getting ready in that area are sure to wake a person sleeping in the bed, which is right next to it. There was zero utensils Knives, forks, spoons etc...There were 2 paper cups. Bonus for the 2 warm bottles of water in the fridge.

Check in on time - just. Nice spacious room - good clean amenities and great view (especially for the sunsets!) Marking it down for a poor bed which had seen better days - and the roll together mattress (or base) i didn’t dare investigate! Noise was also a small issue - but mainly because this seems to be a party hotel in a party town. However, neither items detracted from a great three night experience!

If I was 20 years old and didn't care about anything but partying the place is perfect. None of the pictures on Expedia reflected how the place actually was. I don't know how they can even call it a resort. The best restaurant in there had horrible food. I left after the first night I couldn't take it anymore. I will still say that the staff overall were really good about everything. I had one lady that ran their little breakfast area and she talked down to me. That's what it actually pushed me over the edge and the reason why I just left. They did refund me my money, but I just think people need to know before they book it what it really is.

This Resort doesn't pretend to be something it is not. If you're looking for luxury, you'll be a bit disappointed. But if you're looking for an "old school" beach front resort with everything you need for a great vacation, you cannot beat the Lani Kai. This family owned resort has been here since the 70's. Like the rest of the island, it suffered a direct hit from IAN in 2022 but they have bounced back. Updated rooms, all beach facing with balonies, several restaurants to choose from, chair and umbrella rental and a super staff that will do everything possible to please their guests. The owner works the beach front bar! Gracie's Italian Bistro was a total surprise! Great Food and exceptional service from Christopher and Ann Marie, We had breakfast and lunch at the resort several times during our stay. The only disappointment was probably the pool. Its tucked away from the beach at street level and not at all welcoming. But not too worry, if you're looking for a pool scene, check out the Lighthouse and Tiki Bar only a short walk from the resort. There is a nice little gift shop and also little outside vendors that have spaces on the ground floor. Our room was large and had a little kitchenette. The bed was comfortable. We loved the location and will come back in the future!

The front desk person was mad at me because I booked through a 3rd party, so checking in was not fun, you can’t control the ac in the room, very warm on a 60 degree day

Great rooms with perfect views. The room was cool and comfortable and clean. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was great and reasonably priced. I went for dinner on Christmas and waited 30 min with no help so I left but that was the only negative thing I experienced.

We reserved the room for NYE. We arrived early and understood that our room would be ready by 3, we never got a call stating it was ready. They canceled all of the festivities on the beach. The bar didn’t even stay open until midnight. That was the point of booking the hotel to begin with.

Great location! Front desk was nice. Room was a little small and the bed was hard. Was not a fan of the beach due to boats being parked too close. The pool does not have a view of the ocean and does not have a hot tub. This was a disappointment when visiting in the winter months.

The location to the beach was excellent. We simply walked out the ground floor and we were on the beach. All rooms had a wonderful view of the beautiful Ft. Myers beach.

Beautiful location, great drinks, excellent service, clean. Could use some upgrading but it's affordable and a good value.

The hotel was good overall, but not outstanding. For the area, it was middle of the road. While some things stood out - the beach access and general area, others were needed improvement - (some of) the staff professionalism, dress and demeanor, particularly the lobby / check-in desk. The Sundeck staff was excellent.

The room was great! However, avoid 5th floor rooms. We were right below the upstairs bar and it was very loud! The view was beautiful. The pool was disappointing in that it was in the front of the building, surrounded by walls. You could not see the ocean and by 2:30 it was all in shade. It was heated, though! The Italian restaurant was excellent!!

Great Beachfront Resort! Very freindly and helpful staff!

The room was clean and comfortable and had an ideal set up. Being on beachfront is super. Doors and windows and curtains provided peace and quiet and the dehumidifier is an excellent idea.

All of the staff members i encountered wrte great. Front desk, Jayquan, provided excellent service. The cleaning staff was very good. Our room was very clean. Our view of the Gulf from room 209 was excellent. Lots of food options. I suggested they provide free coffee in the lobby for guests. We had to go to the 6th floor sundeck to buy coffee.

This place has been and will always be a staple to me and FMB! The family presence lives on, the staff is always amazing! Some how they recovered from the disaster of IAN came out newer and stronger but have kept that old Florida touch! I can not recommend any better place at any price point. I recently stayed at Lani Kai and had such a great experience! The entire property was extremely clean, and our room had a beautiful beachfront view that made the stay even more special. Every staff member we interacted with was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The food at the on-site restaurants was delicious, and we truly enjoyed every meal. Overall, we had an amazing time, made great memories, and will definitely be coming back!

Checked in and went to the room and someone was already checked into the room. He was not happy at all. Was not a nice experience. Went down to check in desk and she was like no big deal I will give you a new room. Now we are right next door the rude guy. Was going to stay extend our stay another night but we will be checking out and going down the street to Jimmy buffet Margaritaville hotel that’s going to end up costing more money but I’m sure they will treat us better after this happen

Perfect location. Walking distance to lots of bars, food, shops and entertainment. Tons to do on the resort and private white sandy beach. Staff was 10/10, everyone was super nice and accommodating. Had a great time!

First time back to FMB since the hurricane. I stayed here before but at the annex across the street (still under renovations). Overall, we had an enjoyable stay. The room was very clean with large 4K TV and decent selection of channels with streaming apps installed (like YouTube), which is nice. Balcony and view were awesome. Bathroom and shower were in good condition and shower had good water pressure, but it took several minutes to warm up when taking an early shower (5th floor). Internet was decent but unsecured (consider using VPN). Staff were all polite all throughout our stay and greeted me each time they passed by. However, when checking in I was told by one staff member that I could request a microwave but when I called to make the request they turned me down Thankfully I was able to use the hot water from the coffee maker. Also, their "things to do" listed on the website still list "Access to nearby health club." However, I called ahead and asked about this, and the staff told me they have no idea what I was speaking of. There was a gym just 10 minutes away so I just bought week membership, but they should remove this from their advertisement, since it is apparently outdated. Very good location, only 5 minute walk to Times Square. Pool is very clean and well-maintained and heated to a comfortable temperature. I would stay here again, as the small issues did not outweigh the otherwise pleasant stay.

Our stay at the Lani Kai was great. Beautiful balcony beach view, with a very clean beach. The restaurants were great. The pool was extremely clean as well. We visited the beachfront food stands and gift shops at the ground level and those were amazing as well. We would love to go back!

Our stay was wonderful! I would definitely return. We requested more coffee five days and never received it. I had to go to the front desk almost every day and we still didn’t get it! Instead I went to Gracie’s and paid $10 each day for coffee! Requested hand towels and trash emptied and never got that till the last day!

Now the good- The view is amazing. Right on the ocean/beach. So many excellent places to eat nearby. We rented a car but we walked everywhere. Staff were courteous and helpful. Great music played from 9-9. Not to loud. It was exactly what we were looking for, hope to return soon.

Nice hotel. We were not happy with the beach vendor putting out 90 chair lounges right in front of the water in front of the hotel. They charged $40 for the lounges plus the umbrella. No room for our own chairs. Also parking which there is a charge of $20 a day is very limited. Almost impossible to find a parking space if you go out in the middle of the day.

The 29 drink credit we had to ask them about it as we didn’t receive it upon check in. But they gave us a rum barrell drink ticket snd domestic beer drink ticket and he tossed in a couple of xtras. We don’t care for the rum drinks. But overall very accommodating!

Friendly staff, room was clean, easy to find parking (but you have to pay for parking even if you are a guest of the hotel). Parking is in addition to a resort fee. They responded to our questions right away. Great atmosphere with music. I wish the information was updated that the sunroof deck bar and nightclub are still not open. If its on the website, it wasn't easily accessible. Overall, nice experience.

Lani kai is an fmb staple, havent been there in years and unfortunately not the party spot it once was, still a good time however. Bars are good, but not sure what they are doing with the restaurant, seemed like fine dining? elevator music and all but its up above the bar and is the only place with happy hour? Was definitely akward to come up from the bar and go there, took the food to go lol. The whole area is still coming back so maybe things will change. But came for a party and left a little disappointed.
