Staff was wonderful and friendly.

I can only assume that all those exceptional reviews were paid or the company itself. The this place was awful. Burn marks on the bed covers and we were scared to sleep in the sheets so slept on top of everything. Also scared to sleep due to the drug deals and all night people talking & smoking outside right in front of our door. Thank God we took our door locks & door alarms with us. We also pushed the table up against the door. When I went to check in, where I assume there is supposed to be breakfast (we didn’t want to eat anything there) was what looked like a failed flower shop. They have no ice machine. We had to go to chick fil a for ice. I spoke to the woman when I checked in and that’s the only worker I saw. Our room was non refundable but we considered just being okay with losing the money and not staying. We never felt comfortable or safe enough to sleep anyway
- 3/5
If you’re taking a trip with your family don’t do it if you just need a quick bed for the night this is it
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean room
- 1/5
Bugs on walls, beds the ceiling and various other places through the rooms and buildings.
- 4/5
The heater and air conditioner worked well. This is an older hotel and while there were clean towels and the shower worked and the little refrigerator and microwave all worked, it's an old hotel. There are marks on the walls and door and things are just not as clean as the finer hotels. But I was able to get a good night sleep there. There was no breakfast or coffee. No ice. But the it had the basics.
- 4/5
If you looking for something cheap and decent definitely recommend!!
- 5/5
Reasonable clean, staff was very friendly, parking lot has some damage / pot hole, AC works.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and serviceable. The property itself is in serious need of renovations however. First room I was given, the key card reader was dead. Got another room, no hassle. The doors on both rooms looked like they were busted down at some point, creaky, and required extra effort to open/close. Walkways are cracked and in disrepair. Heat/AC unit was loud, but worked well. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area and right next to the interstate. Overall, it was a cheap place to crash for the night and I got what I paid for.
- 5/5
The room was extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly
- 1/5
Flimsy door, unsafe locks, terrible and old unkept building.
- 1/5
So they moved me to room next door Then I come back 2:weeks later and they said I was banned for accessing 2 rooms. Never again will I come back to that terrible hotel. Should be condemned.
- 5/5
Very corteous specialy Melody

Cucarachas por todo el lugar
- 1/5
They have roaches and the staff is rude
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff, a/c, parking close and nice
- 1/5
There a bunch of roaches, still infested. I don't see how all the hotels in Fredericksburg south aren't condemned and then privately owned by long term leasers because maybe the people who call it home will have more respect cleaning it then the people who sit on there butt doing nothing about the bugs . It's ridiculous I seen like 25 roaches one night when I woke up by the microwave. That's also outdated af . So really yo just sell the hotel .
- 1/5
Dont stay here unless you have to!!!
- 2/5
No USB cable to charge phone TV cable on screen - looks like every channel is like 70,s . - poor quality
- 3/5
No mattress pad, no tissues or drinking cups TP was almost gone, and smelled as if recently fumagated.
- 2/5
Roaches everywhere in downstairs room as soon as we opened our food to start eating dinner. Nice front desk lady moved us upstairs.. no roaches . Beds were terribly hard and uncomfortable.. only 2 pillows to a bed.
- 1/5
Hotel was just old, requested non-smoking, got smoking, sheets. Seem to have stains on it and it holes from cigarette Burns.
- 2/5
We were given a room when we got there. The bathroom ceiling was leaking of water and made a puddle on bathroom floor. Found 2 roaches. Went back to hotel clerk and asked for another room. She gave us a much better room but the only problem was that the front door wouldn’t lock. We put a table in front of door. I would not stay there again because of its condition. Staff is friendly. They need to update the hotel.
- 1/5
Asked for non smoking. Our room smelled like that great uncle that always has a cigarette in his hand. I woke up to my chest on fire and my eyes burning. If we weren't just driving through and exhausted from driving 13 hours we would of not stayed. Bugs in room and most people live there. Probably worst hotel we have ever stayed at.
- 1/5
Staff was super nice. Room smelled terrible of gasoline fumes. Was told they had a generator running for the plumber. Room was moved. New room had cockroaches running around the microwave fridge area. Told manager Ava and she didn’t seem to care.
- 1/5
Hotel had small roaches and no cleaning service the 2 nights we booked
- 1/5
Horrible
- 1/5
The only thibg nice at this place was the girl at the front desk. There were cigarette burn holes in the blanket and on the carpet. The top door lock latch was missing. There was something sticky and gross on the trash can. The worst was the cockroach that crawled across the bed. I was only in the room for an hou and a half and i left. Expidia was unsuccessful in getting my money back. That place was terrible. The parking lot was dark. I almost drove past it. I do not recommend staying at the Garden Inn. It was NASTY!! The woman at the front desk was very friendly and said i would get a refund trhough Expedia. But they turned atound and denied me a refund. I wish i could post pictures. Do not stay here!
- 2/5
I did not like anything. Smelled like smoke, there was a bug on my bed, the door did not close properly. Bathroom was dirty, one set of towels, parking was insufficient, there was no phone, ij the room, hotel is severely dated.
- 5/5
Staff is always friendly
- 4/5
Convenient, plenty of available parking spots,. The only negative thing is cleaning the room. I stayed two nights and didn't have towels. Since i leave very early and come late, staff were unable to give me towels as they stated the storage room is locked. Used the same towels again.
- 5/5
Like everything
- 3/5
Breakfast with small cups of coffee not like on the pictures. Rooms are clean and staff freiendly, however, the area is dark with limited lights
- 1/5
Nasty place, had a 4 night stay reservation left after 2 nights , the 2 nights I was there had to spray everything with lysol, clean shower with lysol, refrigerator didn't work opened it and grossly smell, carpets nasty, picked up chair fell apart, If I were expdia wouldn't even show it on my site
- 3/5
Garden inn is very hard to find took me more than 40 mins to find it especially at night. The room smell like smoke even though it is a non smoke room. Barely can sleep cause if the smell and noises. The hvac unit was loud and blow air at you.
- 5/5

- 1/5
This area has a lot of hotels. Any of them are better than here.
- 1/5
That was the worst experience of my life staying in a hotel . The place was literally full of roaches ! bedspreads
- 1/5
Not sure why I decided to give this place another try. Should’ve known better. Filthy, roach infested, facility is falling apart. Why is this place even listed her is beyond me.
- 1/5
Roaches
- 3/5
Sheets and furniture surfaces were clean. Mini fridge in room. The property is run down, carpet dirty. No coffee maker available
- 5/5
Amazing stay for the price
- 5/5
Debbie is awesome and she takes care of business
- 1/5
Absolutely horrible roaches everywhere the room service don’t come and nor does maintenance if you have issues with something they won’t help you
- 1/5
Rooms are absolutely disgusting. Even non smoking rooms are smoking rooms. Showers have mold. Curtains don’t close. Several doors don’t even have locks. This may be the nastiest hotel I a have ever been in ever. Highly suggest you stay somewhere else, or in your car. Don’t know how it passes inspection.
- 1/5
We could not even stay. I don’t know how they can pass code to be in business.
- 1/5
I find it hilarious they say my dog peed on a ac unit...my dog is a female!! She doesn't lift her leg to potty lol and paying $10 a day pet fee for a dump with roaches by far extends any damage bc my dog caused no damage. You should direct your energy into improving the property that is clearing falling apart especially since you have lived there for years and have no intention of moving. Reading your reviews you always blame whatever on the guest..it wouldn't be that the place is falling apartm It takes money to maintain a property which clearing isn't happening here, not even an exterminator for roaches, that's why they are roaming about in day light with lights on. It's what you call a infestation.
- 5/5
very clean nice will be back
- 1/5
avoid at all costs!!!!
- 1/5
The surroundings were dangerous and unkept. The door to the room was barely secure and could be easily kicked in by a criminal. The walls of the room were filthy. There were cockroaches, see the pic. I was only staying to sleep and get to the Marine Corps half marathon the next day and there weren’t many available rooms in the area. I left.
- 1/5
This was a last resort option for a hotel. Between the dead roaches and the ones crawling up the wall I was disgusted. The door would not shut all the way so it had to be dead bolted everytime we came in. There was only one towel in the room. Over all I probably would not let my dog stay there.
- 1/5
The parking lot is terrible!!! The property manager thinks she's better than ppl and has a power trip. I mean look at the property you manage it's a joke. It looks run down and she's lived there 8 years and it looks like that. Definitely could use a lot of improvements for starters fixing the craters in the parking lot and some paint would go a long way. With as many extended stays they have you would think they.could afford some much needed improvements.
- 1/5
The carpets was the nastiest thing i ever seen. Felt very uncomfortable bout cleanliness of our room. My key didnt work so the person at the front desk had to use her hard key to open the room door. Would not ever stay here again.
- 1/5
Cockroaches!!!!
- 5/5
Debbie and all the other members of the office staff were very pleasant and helpful
- 5/5
Debbie was very nice and professional checking me in, always excellent service.
- 1/5
Not good other than I felt " Sorry and very tired after laying family wreath at Arlington Memorial today. Drive 388 miles to get to this establishment. No key access , I was informed after room purchase . THIS MOTEL STINKS AND IS VERY POORLY MAINTAINED. I AM DISABLED and property was a nightmare.
- 1/5
The room was horrifying! My brother paid for us to move to the Holliday Inn express for our second night so we could get out of there!
- 1/5
This place is disgusting. Full of roaches. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
- 5/5
A tentative and made sure my stay was good
- 1/5
The toilet seat bolts were so loose that I almost ended up on the floor. The Fossett in the bathroom was so loose that it wobbles around every time I turned the handle. One mattress was fine, but the other one was so hard and lumpy as to be completely on usable. This place is on my top. Three of the worst motel rooms I have ever stayed in in my entire life, and I am almost 80 years old. As my father used to say, cheap is cheap.
- 4/5
Everyone is very friendly and the rooms are clean.
- 4/5
The stay was pleasant and Debbie at the front desk was very polite and made sure I had all I needed
- 4/5
The staff checking in was absolutely amazing courteous and very respectful. Debbie made me feel like I was staying at a home away from home.
- 2/5
NOT VERY CLEAN FALLING APART DOORS BROKEN YOU NAME IT ROUGH
- 3/5
Cigarette hole in blankets on one bed. The cover on other bed has dried blood on it once the blankets were turned fown. Place DEF needs better signage near end of entrance to make finding the pace - especially after dark - much easier!
- 1/5
Would not stay there again.
- 1/5
Door lock stopped working after a couple of nights there, had to be moved to another room with all of my stuff still locked in the other room. Was never compensated for this issue, as they claim they don’t give out refunds. Room smelled like dogs and cigarettes. There was white dog hair everywhere on the floor and the covers. Save your money and time, don’t stay here!!
- 1/5
It was absolutely disgusting. Burn holes in the sheets, DUCK TAPE holding the door shut???? I was horrified that this place is even OPEN. The toilet was cracked, the whole room REAKED of smoke. It was absolutely sick.
- 5/5
My stay was good. Check in was no problem. The room was clean but the light switches need to be tightened or checked. Some maintenance needs to be done.
- 3/5
We really just needed a couple hours of sleep before we were back on the road. It for the purpose we had a bed to sleep in and showers. Rooms were dated and dirty.
- 1/5
Cant complain much considering what I paid for the room, bed was very hard and uncomfortable, pillows were a joke, no tissue paper, container empty, comforter had a tear, iron in room but no ironing board. Would rather pay mire money somewhere else, hotel I ysually stay in when in VA had no vacancies, will never stay there again
- 2/5
Address is incorrect on Expedia, hotel sign not visible, no handicap accessible, rooms are stained, beds burnt, no fridge for the drinks, towels very small
- 5/5
Its very quiet
- 2/5
Carpet smells bad
- 1/5
The address given to my on your website for where the hotel was not only incorrect it directed me an hour north of the actual location and I was in a different state then I needed to be. When I called they said I was the third person that night with the issue. I had already been in the road for over 12 hours. This mistake cost me time and money. Never again.
- 3/5
Just ran down , dead rouches, holes in the bed spreads , clean bedding and towels! They try ! Good price ! Get what you pay for ! Super nice staff
- 1/5
Doors were not secure in the room because they have been kicked open and haven’t been repaired since. Filthy carpet. Noisy neighbors all night. Poor sleep and overall terrible experience.
- 1/5
Room smelled extremely strongly of smoke, so much so that my hair smelled like smoke the next day, Bugs crawling on the floor in the bathroom. Extremely rundown and gross. Mattress was terrible, pillows were tiny and lumpy. We debated whether it would be better to sleep in our car,
- 1/5
The hotel door will not open so they told me I was not allowed to get into the room to retrieve my medication that I really needed and I’m a diabetic they then called the police on me to try to get me with breaking an entering because I went through a side piece that was open beside the AC the police told him I didn’t break anything so they couldn’t charge me with breaking an entering
- 3/5
The Garden Inn was conveniently located near the highway and to restaurants. The room was not very good. It smelled of stale smoke. The quilts has cigarette holes. The refrigerator did not work and there was no microwave.
- 1/5
I felt very unsafe
- 3/5
I liked the fact that it was $50 a night, that it provided me a place to stay for two nights without going past $100. It's not the most aesthetically appealing of places, but it gets the job done, in terms of providing a place to spend the night. The place had running water and a shower, which was very good. The only annoying thing was the cigarette smoke, though. The staff had sent in the cleaners to spray the place, but the cigarette smoke remained; not sure where it came from.
- 1/5
The area is good but overall very bad
- 2/5
door not working difficult to enter in your room
- 4/5
good price for it needs alot of repairs
- 4/5
I am handicapped and parking was a walk to the room in poor lighting Stray cats everywhere
- 2/5
The GPS sent me to another location and had to ask around to find this property. I feel so sorry for the nice ladies at check in and check out. They diserve 5 stars.
- 2/5
The address listed on hotels. Com was very incorrect and lead me to the other side of town to an empty plaza parking lot. This hotel is very gross and unsafe. My door barely locked or shut and let in a huge draft. I had to push a table and chair up against it to press it full shut. TV was all static, paint was sloppy and splattered on ceiling, missing outlets ripped out, sink was loose, bathroom shower old and freezing cold, faucet handle loose. The three rooms next to me were abandoned, doors wide open, curtains ripped down, doors stripped of locks, it looked like a haunted house where any hobo was free to use these rooms for the night. Very very hard to sleep on other side of wall from these totally abandoned rooms. See photo
- 1/5
The only thing I would say is that it was clean even though it didn't appear to be. The beds were okay and the attendant in the office was personable.
- 3/5
This place does not deserve even a review. I just cross the broken door, see the dirty and burned blanket, open a moving-broken faucet and run away
- 1/5
This place should be condemned!!! Very run down. Be aware!!!! This motel is also used for long term rentals! We arrived at night and had a hard time finding the place as the sign was burned out. That should have been our first clue to keep going! The young lady at the desk was very nice. There was a No Smoking sign on the door yet the crappy old dresser and bed covers had burns in them. The room smelled old and stale. They must have done a very quick paint job as there was white paint on everything. The wood strip that holds the carpet in place, just outside of the bathroom was bare so if you stepped on it, the little nails would stick in your feet. The light in the bathroom looked like it had mold in it. The picture in the room was barely hanging on as the frame has given away from the top of the picture. The doors are crooked or warped. Overall the place is very rundown and I wouldnt even give it one star. I wouldnt even have it offered on your site!
- 2/5
First room the AC unit was so loud the tv couldn't be heard and the room was 50 degrees. Second room slightly better after killing three roaches.
- 1/5
This hotel was very bad it had roaches nasty bed sheet and a smell of a dead animal cant believe they are still in business worst experience of my life ended up sleeping in my car
- 1/5
Booked as a non smoking deluxe. Given a smoking room with a broken door and insect infestation. Took a shower but couldnt bring myself to spend the night so checked out after an hour.
- 1/5
The motel is the worst I have ever stayed; it was not adequately cleaned, the sink was broken, nothing was really clean, and the smell was horrible. I ended up sleeping in my vehicle and departed early - the smell of smoke and other odors gave me a migraine. At least the drug dealers left when I arrived, given I was driving an unmarked.
- 1/5
SUPER DIRTY!!! The room and bed smeled like homeless slept there for a few days. I got a non smoking room but it smelled terrible like it was smoked there plus the too blanket had cigarrete burn marks
- 3/5
Dog friendly
- 1/5
Horrible place. Dirty, unsafe, shouldn't be a hotel at all until completely renovated.
- 2/5
Wow! What a dump! Doors broken and don't even close completely, cigarette burns in bedding, smell is terrible. We almost decided to sleep in our vehicle instead but sucked it up. The night shift clerk was very friendly and helpful but other than that not even 1 positive thing could be said about this place! No fridge, microwave, coffee pot.... No coffee in the lobby in the morning either.
- 1/5
This is more of a half way house/rehab/homeless shelter than a hotel, my door was completely broken and had been kicked in, I did not feel safe, and should not be open as a hotel no matter how cheap it is.
- 1/5
Roaches in the bathroom and dresser drawers will never stay there again!
- 5/5
I found my stay at the Garden Inn in Fredericksburg Virginia a very good experience. The room was clean and the reception I received in the lobby by the person running the garden inn was excellent. She was very helpful and very courteous. I plan on staying at the Garden Inn the next time that I pass through Fredericksburg, Virginia.
- 5/5
Thanks
- 1/5
Room was nasty had terrible smell wish I wouldn't have wasted my free night
- 1/5
This hotel was disgusting. It was infested with bugs- I home with bites from either bed bugs, ants or spiders. I saw all three on my stay there. They were so bad that I had to go to the doctor and get prescription strength anti-inflammatory and a steroid. Do not stay here.
- 2/5
The room wasn't clean at all!! It was filthy. For the price it was anout what i expected otherwise. Cleanliness should be mandatory!! But for this place it apparently isn't.
