The property had a nostalgic, cozy atmosphere that we absolutely loved. The location was excellent, with easy access to the beach. The pool and hot tub were wonderful—you can order drinks, watch the game, and relax in the hot tub, which made for a perfect experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we felt very safe throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the chairs outside our room and the observation deck, as well as the breakfast, all of which were great places to unwind and take in the surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Equivalent to a 3 star motel

Pool - The pool did not open until 9:30 am. One of the main reasons we booked this property is so my husband could sit by the pool early (6 am) in the morning and read his book. He had to sit in our dark room until I got up. Breakfast - No place to sit once you got your food. The Breakfast ladies were very sweet. The hot food was good. The community condiments with shared spoons were gross. Room had burnt out light bulbs. Dispensers in the shower for soap, shampoo and conditioner were covered in gunk. Hair dryer - it was not in the room. I had to call down after my shower to locate one. Loud - many guests were loud until 2:30 AM. Loud music, talking all outside of their rooms. Super loud music in rooms with thin walls. Front door needs to be slammed to shut -- for all rooms. This is annoying and loud. The seal around the door had a big gap and the cool are from the air conditioner sucked out. Maybe a new door seal would help with the need to slam and the air conditioner having to work over time. Staff was friendly. This is an old antiquated hotel with lots of passage ways. The view from our room was good. Cute yellow chairs out front of room were broken, even the replacement ones.
- 3/5
Good place to enjoy, the pool away, comfortable rooms. I wish for a better quality of breakfast, it seems very neglected and forgotten, it does not go with the rest of the facilities.
- 5/5
cheese sticks at the restaurant were bomb!
- 5/5
Had a amazing time while we were therezz
- 2/5
The breakfast setup was appalling. Definitely need to rethink this. Just felt like a poor man’s breadline with greasy undercooked sausage links every morning and overcooked powder eggs. It was actually a little scary to eat, so after day 1 we skipped it. The attached restaurant was nice and the pool area was ok. Having the beach so close was the best part.
- 2/5
Was loud all night. Couple under me and my fiancé were screaming at each other which lead to 6 police cars showing up after the couple started assaulting each other! This happened all afternoon and night, the price is ridiculous and looks nothing like it shows on its website. Just overall all terrible

Honestly, my family loved EVERYTHING The tv was very small for both beds, my family piled up in one bed to watch tv.

Location Our key did not work and caused much stress. Office people did not seem concerned. We were worried every time we left the room if we would be able to get back in.
- 5/5
Literally across the street from the beach. Fun pool with kids’ area. Breakfast provided with friendly staff. Cute design. Great place for sleeping in while you are out and about enjoying Galveston.
- 4/5
The room was clean, the view and location are wonderful, the staff is efficient and the breakfast is lovely. We did ask for a late check out (1 hour) and were told it would be a $15 per hour. Not a huge charge, but we'd never heard of that or had it happen anywhere else. Also, the pool and bar say they close at ten, but they must cut off entrance to the pool before that because our cards didn't work after 9 or 9:30 pm to get access to the pool or pool bar. And on our last night (a Saturday night) we tried to get a drink from the bar and enjoy the hot tub, but they said they were shut down already and then shut down the pool and hot tub as well, 20 minutes before 10 pm. Which was kind of disappointing for me and the family. Especially in June on a Saturday night - there was plenty of business and people around enjoying the night and amenities. And considering the price we paid for our stay on a weekend. Besides that, all was well. I'm sure we would stay again.

The location and the breakfast. The room that we stayed in was very clean, but it needed new paper on the walls or a paint job.
- 5/5
Clean and good staff I didn’t get a ocean view when that’s what I ordered
- 4/5
I really like the location and also the pool was nice the rooms were clean and the breakfast was decent we enjoy staying here. The parking lot gets really packed and they don't allow food or drinks in the pool unless you buy from the bar.
- 5/5
Staff was super nice. It's always pretty chill. The observation deck is amazing. The outside garden is fun when ur kids need a spot but u want to chill
- 4/5
Overall, still an enjoyable stay.
- 3/5
Hotel was nice enough. It’s older so consider that. We upgraded to a deluxe room but did not consider the street noise since it does face the ocean. It’s gets a little noisy so keep that in mind. Staff is friendly and the pool is great.

Wonderful stayed. Love this place, definitely we are coming back. My husband and I came with the kids and teenagers and they loved it. Went to the pool and after to the beach.

Location was great The room was full of flies that we had to go out and buy a few fly swatters.
- 4/5
What I liked about the property was the clean, colorful rooms. Thankfully you could have the fan on continuously on the AC because we found out that you could hear easily into the next room, so by using it, we sleep peacefully. We were able to walk down the Seawall and enjoy plenty of restaurants, the Pleasure Pier, etc. I would recommend it and stay there again.

I had ready many positive reviews and one really bad review before choosing Gaido's. The one bad review was a picture of one large cockroach, also known as the waterbug or black cockroach, is a large species of cockroach, adult males being 18–29 mm and adult females being 20–27 mm. which most people associate with being near water and plants. The truth is Gaido's has an infestation of multiple types of cockroach. At first I attempted to buy multiple types of cockroach killer but I swear it only made them more angry. I finally decided to leave when one tried to get on my from the nearby table. I wish this was an exaggeration but not at all. Very disappointed and wish things would have been better. I do not advise staying here due to this infestation.
- 3/5
Carpet in our room had a strong smell of carpet powder
- 2/5
I heard nothing but excellent ratings about this place, however our room was not the best. First off we had tiny visitors spiders and water bugs. The trash bin was right next to our room and it brought in flies. The room had an awful smell, like wet towel and dog smell. The walls are paper thin so expect to hear your neighbors pretty clear, we heard a couple arguing as early as 6 am. It’s a bit older hotel and what sold me was the price per night. I guess I got what I paid for.
- 5/5
We had the best experience at Gaidos. So much fun. The place was a whole vibe!! Will definitely book there again.
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious but the staff made it even better!! Truly felt like you were with family. We stayed on the first floor so the view wasn’t as good as the second floor guests but it was really nice to be walking distance to the beach and Nick’s. The pool was well maintained and very big.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the pool and the staff were very kind!

GULF VIEW. Clean room. Soft pillows, comfortable bed. Warm shower. Coffee was good.
- 5/5
Location: Great. On the Seawall. Get the gulf view. Worth the extra. Breakfast: Very good for a guy. Eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy plus the normal cold foods. Same thing every day. A heads up, no indoor seating and outdoor you’ll have sea gulls harassing you as expected. Staff: Helpful and friendly. Please tip the breakfast staff. They work hard and handle the crowded space well. Parking: Free and adequate. Room: Dated but clean and suitably maintained. Everything is cutely color coordinated. Pool: Outdoor. I didn’t use but looks as good as most hotels. Well suited for children, but also has attached full bar. Extra amenity: large area of AstroTurf and a place to shower off beach sand on backside of hotel. Interesting history: Take time to read about the Gaidos family online and the sign in the pleasantly maintained garden area. Clients: Families and older enjoying vacation at beach. Friendly, talkative and earthy. Outside: Their one failure is the outside maintenance. Wooden chairs missing slats, Doors stick. Building has rotten wood. Needs paint and repair. Glad we chose it and will again.

I had such high hopes due to the reviews I saw, but it was horrendous. We were covered in gnats the ENTIRE TIME. I couldn’t even take a shower to feel clean because they were in there too, and I mean they were everywhere. We tried to bring dinner into the room to eat… Threw it out a couple minutes in because of how bad it was. I tried calling the desk and nobody answered. It was insanity. Staff was nice, but when it was brought up the next day it seemed that they could’ve cared less. Also, the door was SO insanely hard to open. I felt like I almost threw my shoulder out a few times just to get into the room. Overall, I will never be staying here again. I gave 2 stars only because the staff was polite. Otherwise, it would’ve absolutely been just 1. The attached pictures don’t even do justice to how disgusting it was.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Just a little pet smell. Staff was excellent! Great service 👏. Not sure the name of the receptionist. I went on Thursday May 28. She was great!

- 5/5
Our room was clean and very inviting. With all the cars there was no beach view from our 1st floor room. The hot tub was very nice, the pool was very cold but beautiful. Kewpie's garden was very nice and plenty of activities for the teenagers. The breakfast was good, the women who ran the breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and checking in and out was easy. We felt safe letting our teenagers wander around the area with out us. We did not use the housekeeping option and getting more clean towels was super easy. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We will come back again!
- 4/5
El hotel está bien pero en las fotos parece una cosa y la realidad es otra, yo esperaba algo mejor pero en general está bueno.
- 3/5
The location is great. Check in was a breeze. Super nice staff. Now mind you it is a old hotel. They have done many updates that are nice. But in the bathroom we had exposed wires showing under our mising light cover. Which would be a super easy fix. Replace the cover. We paid $300 for a saturday night on a holiday weekend. Normally it's around $100 a night. So I know the money is there to fix the light fixture. There was also a strong cleaning solution smell. I am not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. The bar staff at the main restaraunt Gaido's was amazing. If that helps. I would stay there again if the price was right.
- 1/5
I took sheets of the just help housekeeping something I do at every hotel I say at. The cover that protects the sheets had several stained of BLOOD on them. Rust all visible on the Refrigerator, water knobs There was air all of the bedding. For the price I paid that was over $600 I was not expecting what I walk into. I will never stay there again.
- 5/5
From the moments I got there the check in process was super easy and staff was friendly. When we arrived to our room I was a tad bit sad because I booked the ocean view room and I got a room infront of the pool instead. But other than that it was the best experience yet. The pool was great, breakfast as yummy, staff is friendly. Will be coming back asap.
- 1/5
It was very nasty. There was a big fight at the pool and I was a witness and got someone and was told by one of the guys that went to jail that he would come back and k*ll a mother f***ker. I then went to the office to ask for a refund cause I didn't feel safe staying the night and they wouldn't refund me. Then went on saying that the bar next door owns the pool and not them. I went back to the pool and talked to the GREAT manager there and he told me that in fact the hotel does own the pool. He took my name and my number and is fighting with me to get a refund. If you decide to stay here just know that the bar next door let's their customers pay to be able to use the pool and there could end up being a fight. O and there was a bunch of young families there with young kids while this fight broke out and having to pull kids out of the way of a fight and police was NOT what I wanted to do on my first time to the beach. Pictures on the site is very very outdated.

Wonderful, friendly ladies serving breakfast made my morning!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Room was comfortable and cool. Short walk to beach
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay, but the AC was struggling. Our room was humid making it a bit tough to sleep.
- 5/5
Muy buena la uvicación me encanto
- 4/5
Every one was very nice and we were able to leave our car there during our cruise. Hotel is dated and needed to have the carpet cleaned or replaced.
- 4/5
The hotel has great customer service, everyone are so nice. The breakfast is ok, it got what you usually can eat for breakfast. The beds and pillows are comfy. The microwave and fridge are so cute and they were very cleaned and worked pretty well. The a/c, the shower and toilet worked great, we had no problems with that and also the TV and remote worked too. Now the only bad things I found was that the room was not cleaned, like the carpet cause I found a sock and an underwear of someone else. As soon as I opened the door I could smell the humidity, so it is a must to have some sort of ventilation because the smell was even inside the chest drawers every time I opened it, a humidity smell came out. The little bookshelf it was not cleaned, to much dust. I know because I wanted to read a book and they were all dirty and dusty. The bathtub is so slippery, got to be very careful or you'll fall inside. Shampoo containers are all so old and rusty, they don't look very nice. The sink and the toilet are old too, so they also must be replaced. And lastly, we asked for room service once and didn't receive it for a 4-night stayed.
- 4/5
Seaside is very convenient to the beach and restaurants. The hotel needs an upgrade. Staff are very nice and helpful. Good for family with kids. Nice pool.
- 4/5
They have free cruise parking, so many stars for that. The breakfast ladies are my favorite part. They are so genuinely kind and helpful. The beds were not comfortable at all and I don't mean that they were too firm or soft. I mean, you wake up 10 times and can't sleep well because they like sink toward the middle. I'd still go again for the free cruise parking though. There is not a laundry mat (not complaining- just putting that in there for info). GREAT location! Attached to Nick's and they have the best food. Right on the seawall.
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
En resumen me encanta este lugar es una mezcla de todo económico calidad y comodidad y su ubicación es fantástica love
- 1/5
Our first room faced a shady parking lot and had furniture duct taped together. The second room had broken furniture and a broken refrigerator. After spending over $100 at the restaurant, the microwave shorted out the room, trapped our food inside, and forced us into a THIRD room. The third room had mold on the bed, ripped/stained sheets, spiders in the bedding, and a broken microwave, TV, and dresser. Even the vending machines were broken. The hotel’s broken gate also damaged our car, denting both passenger-side doors and scraping the paint. We had to call the front desk and police over a violent disturbance next door involving screaming and things hitting the walls. Breakfast was cramped with nowhere to sit, housekeeping never cleaned the room or refreshed towels, and management offered no refund or compensation despite all the issues. I took photos of everything and honestly feel we left the room cleaner than we found it. Save yourself the stress and stay elsewhere.
- 3/5
It was outdated and some areas of the place needs to be repaired and painted. But very family friendly and convenient for the price.

The rooms I can agree with older reviewers, that they need to be updated.

Erin at the front desk is very accommodating and I cant thank her and the others enough. I Love Guidos ❤️. Thank you for a wonderful time. Great choice for a Galveston beach stay. Check in and check out were easy, staff was friendly, room was spacious and clean. Hotel pool, hot tub and poolside bar were all fantastic... my friends and I loved it!

Yuck didn’t even attempt the breakfast! Didn’t look like webpage! Was sketchy and Ghetto like the twilight zone from the 60’s in a bad way!! Looks like You cater to a certain crowd; who uses V05? Staff asked us three times if we were in a cruise ship & answered three times No!! Can’t believe it’s affiliated with the Guido’s Restaurant shocking motel!!!

Other than that, we will be staying there again!

I did not have a room overlooking the beach, but the deck was close to my room and I spent a lot time there. My rooms were clean and had a lot of amenities. The breakfast was fresh and very tasty, but the best was the greetings I got. Enjoyed the pool also. It was a very relaxing experience.

Already planning our next stay very affordable and in the perfect location.
- 4/5
We love what this inn has to offer. The full breakfast (the breakfast ladies are the best!), pool, hot tub, restaurants and the pool bar. The access to the beach is easy, just walk across the road. Shops are a short walking distance. We get a room not viewing the beach because we leave the room if we want to see the beach. A/C in the room worked great, microwave, coffee pot and good size mini fridge with frozen spot are all nice. You have to request a blow dryer. Staff was so friendly!

This is the ideal place to bring a young family or have your mother-in-law watch the kids. Bring the kids if she wants to be a babysitter while you and your wife honeymoon at the grand Galvez or one of the other wonderful places down the street you literally have a Hilton a Holiday Inn, a five star resort and this wonderful family place all within walking distance you could have a huge wonderful family reunion Right here on this block. I highly recommend this place. I am told there’s a honeymoon suite here which I haven’t had the privilege of viewing, but that would also be an option you could have a wedding here this place is incredible.
- 5/5
Older, clean friendly staff, helpful. Breakfast has to eaten outside.
- 4/5
The breakfast was great. Would have preferred “Texas waffle griddle” size waffles. Pancakes were really small but good.
- 5/5
Great place cool vibes. Nice rooms
- 5/5
The breakfast is always amazing!! The staff are so kind and make sure you're happy and get what you love for breakfast!!
- 4/5
It would be great if there were more places to hang wet garments inside the room. I would think that tile flooring would also be a future update, carpet is not great so near the beach. This was our 2nd stay at Gaido's, and we will most likely return. We enjoy the small hotel over the huge highrise.
- 4/5
Ladies that served breakfast were very nice and friendly.
- 2/5
Getting into the lobby was a pain with no direction in advance. Going into the lobby was disguising from the one room.
- 5/5
Needs a lil update
- 5/5
Great view, clean, room comfortable bed, helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast. Quiet with minimal street sound. Right across street from the beach.
- 5/5
Nos encanta aquí cuartos piscina todo
- 5/5
Yes we could see the beach in between parked cars. Chairs outside door to seat and enjoy. Breakfast was actual breakfast and hot. We will be back in future
- 4/5
Property is a little rundown but the room was nice and clean, breakfast was great and the pool is really cool. Location on the beach is ideal. Plenty surrounding restaurants. Was a little noisy late into the night especially considering it was a weeknight.
- 5/5
All good

Room overlooking the beach.

Great location and free cruise parking with one night stay.. highly recommend
- 5/5
I almost hate to leave a review! This is a hidden gem!!! Cute, clean, and super friendly staff! I have no negative comments! We will stay again!
- 3/5
The inn is in a good location. It’s an old place and you have to appreciate that vintage charm. It was decorated cute and beachy. The bed was very comfortable. However someone must have dumped concentrated cleaning solution on the carpet as the smell in the room was almost unbearable; fumes in the room were so bad we could hardly breathe. There was no insulation around the door, which is exterior to the ocean, so there was no escape from the warm humid air and exterior noise. The door also had bad chips and scratches on the exterior, worse than other nearby rooms. The office staff was adequately polite, but gave minimal effort. I called for a hair dryer and they said I could come get one from the office, no offer to bring it up to me on the second floor. I wish they’d mentioned that in the info letter left in the room.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the view was fantastic. We stayed seaside on the second floor. We were right by the pool. The outside bar connected to the pool is served from the connected restaurant Nicks. The food isnt the greateat from there but the drinks are tasty and you dont even have to get in a vehicle. The breakfast and the ladies serving it are amazing. They were so helpful and sweet. The hotel itself is great but its the ladies in the breakfast room that will bring us back. Great hospitality.
- 4/5
There's something about this place that we really like. It is an older place and it definitely shows. There's a few things that could be updated. But, it's in a great location and is staffed by even greater people! The pool area is a big draw. The pool bar is a great place to hang out whether you're 25 or 75! They serve great food for lunch, dinner or snacks. Happy hour is a hit in my book! The motel itself serves free breakfast every day! Not much you could need that isnt already provided. I must say though, that for my back, the beds are way too soft. Unfortunately, that might keep us from staying there again. My back hurt so much and I didn't sleep too well. But, like I said, There's something about this place!
- 5/5
We do a girl trip every year and stay here. We absolutely love this place.
- 5/5
The rooms are comfortable, clean and cold. The swimming pool is large and clean, the restaurant thats attached to the hotel, is also very clean and convenient. There is a bar outside in the pool hot tub area. The service is great!
- 4/5
The room was clean, staff was pleasant and welcoming, breakfast was decent and had a good mix of items like yogurt, cereal, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and fruit - I was grateful that the hotel provided breakfast but the tater tots that were served were hard. I did not stay in a room with a beach view but I still enjoyed my time. I would stay here again!
- 4/5
Older hotel but was comfortable. The beds were good with lots of pillows! Check in was easy. Breakfast was so good.
- 4/5
I like that the property is gated at night, but in general it needs some TLC. The breakfast area is quite small and crowded. The pool area was very nice, but the hot tub (which looks like it's part of the same property) does not actually belong to the hotel, it belongs to the restaurant/bar next door, but allows the hotel patrons to have access to it, as well as people from the public. The hot tub was absolutely gross and dirty with things floating in it. People eating, drinking and smoking in the hot tub,
- 5/5
Definitely would stay again. Everything appeared clean. Room smelled clean. For as busy/full as they are, the grounds stay quite almost all day. Right across from the beach/seawall. We watched the sun rise every morning then went straight to breakfast. Breakfast was delicious. Normal things like cereal, toast and fruit, but they also had scrambled eggs, sausage links, pancakes and grits.
- 4/5
Really enjoyed staying here before we went on our cruise
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and pretty. Rooms spacious and comfortable.
- 4/5
We requested an ocean view, but got the backside. Old and outdated. One bed was comfortable but the other was in serious need of a new mattress.
- 5/5
Amazing breakfast menu, quiet, very clean and cozy.
- 5/5
Clean room, very home vibe. Outdated bathroom.
- 5/5
Breakfast was ok. Not anything to brag about. Everyone else was so nice and fun! Definitely staying again

Perfecto. Thaks

The property is in great location. However, it is 1 star motel and not 3 star as rated in Expedia website. The room faced a restaurant and it is part of the property and sewer smell is very, very bad. The building is very old and without proper maintenance. In side the room, things are without maintenance, the carpet looks like very, very old. Very bad experience for our stay.

This was a good hotel for two nights prior to a cruise. They allow guests to park in their lot throughout the cruise with no additional cost, which is nice. The hotel is definitely a vintage traditional motel from back in the day, so there is wear and tear. Thankfully the rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. We were also in a beach-facing room which was nice. Note: they do not automatically have hairdryers in the room (I definitely panicked a little at first). When I called the office there said you have to request it. Thankfully that was a quick fix. Also, no iron or ironing board. We were able to borrow an iron, but still no ironing board. It was a good hotel for convenience to the beach and it has a nice pool with bar and restaurant, but I don’t know that I’d stay again due to location…I liked the downtown area a little better and will stay there next time. We did not eat the breakfast, so I can’t rate that.
- 5/5
The ladies making breakfast were wonderful!
- 5/5
Room overlooked the beach and the rooms were clean and staff was amazing. Pol was fantastic and l8cation was awesome.
- 5/5
Staff soo friendly , great location ocean view restaurant next to the hotel good walk to the Galveston Pleasure Pier enjoyed the boardwalk and trolley ride .
- 5/5
Staff were great. Hotel was older but they addressed any issues we had
- 5/5
Food was great! Room was clean everything great!
- 5/5
The pool, hot tub and bar area was amazing. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at any hotel. The room was clean and modern with a very comfy bed and bedding. The room was on the smaller side - which wasn’t an issue as we spent very little time in it with such a beautiful pool and sitting areas right outside the door. The attached pool bar and restaurant had good food. The motel was within walking distance to the pier and other attractions and overlooked the beach although you had to cross the street to access it. We will definitely stay there again!
- 4/5
Parking was a little tight but overall a good place to stay overnight. It was clean but a little rundown.
- 5/5
Nice, friendly staff- Clean room, nice pool and hot tub area with delicious food to order you can enjoy by the pool. Steps away from the beach.
- 1/5
Not as pictures advertised. Very run down conditions with room being very damp smelling and not clean. Ammenities in poor condition . Eating area only outdoors
- 4/5
Great location. Economical stay. Friendly staff. Not upscale but very nice.
- 4/5
The property was oceanfront and nice ovrrall
- 3/5
My kids absolutely loved the pool. The rooms were definitely dated, but clean. The garden had a giant chess game with many missing and broken pieces. Breakfast was not self serve, and the staff there didn’t seem very happy to be there. If you go in with expectations of it not being fancy, you will be fine. The pictures online are somewhat misleading and make the property look a lot nicer than it actually is. The location was great, and was right along the beach.
- 4/5
Great location lots of things to do and many places to eat at.
- 4/5
Room needs to be updated ( wallpaper coming off the wall). Pool is nice breakfast was good. Restaurants real close and they're excellent restaurants (Gaido's seafood restaurant and Nick's restaurant)
- 3/5
Perfecta para pasar unas vacaciones.
- 5/5
Breakfast menu not good
- 3/5
The breaks fast the same thing every single days. the building is old . Isn’t the same at the picture when I make the reservation??. I don’t thing it going back.
- 4/5
Staff were super friendly
- 5/5
Breakfast ladies were great and food good.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
Great!
- 5/5
It was nice and so close to water.
- 1/5
First time that we stayed at Gaido’s! Rooms looked like seaside cottages. Enjoyed our overnight before going on cruise. Thank you!
- 3/5
The room itself was clean and cheery. The outside by the pool, and where you have breakfast, was very tired. Needs a good cleaning. Very easy to get to Royal Caribbean drop off with an Uber ride.
- 5/5
Great place to stay across from the ocean.
- 5/5
Older property. Comfortable bed. Walkable to restaurants. Nice pool. Great views of the gulf.
- 5/5
We loved staying at Guidos this past weekend! Everyone was so nice. We had a beautiful view of the beach and loved the swimming pool too! We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Clean room. Good breakfast. Easy parking. Nice restaurant next door.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean, definitely older but we had no issues. The breakfast was delicious! The walk to the beach was perfect! We would stay here again! Loved the parking options too!!
- 5/5
Awesome!! Will stay again
- 3/5
Pool was very nice. Our room was definitely in need of some upgrades. Staff was very nice and friendly and the continental breakfast was much better than some of the other hotels we’ve stayed at that were much more expensive. Overall it was a pretty good place to spend the night.
- 4/5
Pool was very nice. Mary the bartender was very busy but took care of everyone with a great attitude. Too many kids in hot tub jumping and swimming around like it was a pool.
- 5/5
Winter but the pool looks very inviting if summer
- 1/5
The AC did not work all day and night long and the door kept getting stuck to open I had to pull and push it was a whole ordeal to open that door I don’t think I will ever stay ever again
- 4/5
All of the above I will stay again and I will tell family and friends
- 5/5
Great location and nice hot tub
- 5/5
Check in was quick and easy and the room was immaculate. I loved the decor and even if the accommodations seemed dated, it was part of the charm. The breakfast was served by friendly, great cooks (don't miss the biscuits and real eggs!) I can see how vacationers would enjoy the property and the two attached restaurants are so convenient for dinner. The best part was the safe and free parking during my cruise.
- 2/5
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a room facing the ocean on the second floor. There was barely enough room to move down the walkway with our luggage because of the outdoor chairs taking up so much space. Ice machine was a very long way away and I didn’t see it until we were leaving. The room was very dusty and had mold growing on the wall above the ac. The door had large spaces around it and you heard road noise all night long. I would never stay there if I had known about any of these things. Again, the staff were all really nice and treated us like family.
- 5/5
Great palce for extended aniversy weekend.
- 5/5
All the above, with a great breakfast,
- 2/5
The hotel is old and very run down. The carpet was horrible. We were there for a week and never had any maid service. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
- 5/5
clean spacious room
- 4/5
The stay was like a step back in time. My husband loved being able to back up to our room to load and unload. The breakfast was good with many options. Our room decor was older but clean. We enjoyed the hot tub, ocean views and being able to access the restaurant!
- 5/5
Me and my husband had a wonderful time. The staff was very polite the pool was very clean as well as the room. Will definitely be coming back.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great breakfast and amazing staff. Our room was a little outdated but it was clean.
- 5/5
Loved it, everyone was nice was able to check in early. Room smelled great.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay - the hotel is older, but was nice and clean. Beds comfortable. Love the location - with Nick's right there and the Pleasure Pier not too far down. Easy walk across the street to the beach. The free breakfast is nice and all the employees were super kind. Our water pressure was fine and water nice and hot after a chilly day in February.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, kept up well, and we had a great view of the ocean.
- 5/5
Our first time staying here and it won’t be the last! From checking in to checkout it was great. Do not let it being older stop you from staying! It was super clean and very homey feeling! Restaurants, bar and staff are amazing!!
- 3/5
The beds are old and bouncy but hard when you lay on them. The tv is tiny and something was wrong with it because the color was off. The shower would fill up with water and drip if you didn’t use massive force to shut it off. The very last thing is the carpet is DISTUsTING! It was sticky and almost black. Paid extra for a beach view but couldn’t see anything out of the window because of the super duty truck parked in front.
- 3/5
2nd time staying. Everything was wonderful then. 2/11/26
- 4/5
Room was clean, cute and comfortable
- 5/5
This was an exceptional location. I wish we had more time to take in daytime activities however the breakfast on the courtyard was a delightful experience!! I cannot wait to book again!!
- 4/5
clean room, courteous staff
- 3/5
Place was adquate, beach access was great, breakfast room under construction so probably will be better. It is an older Inn. Would highly recommend staying on the second floor with beach view ! Pool area welcoming. Pleasure pier is walkable.
- 3/5
The rooms had no hair dryers and sink barely drained. Rooms were clean but look dirty because they need updating.
- 5/5
Everything was great... we stay at Guido's quite often.
- 4/5
The room was clean but very worn and dated. The location and view were excellent and my husband enjoyed the free breakfast. Parking was also free and convenient.
- 5/5
clean room, excellent breakfast
- 3/5
room was good, parking for cruise was very limited.
- 3/5
The bathroom was pretty bad. Dust caked on the fan and mildew on the vent. Spoke to staff but nothing was done
- 5/5
I reserved the room with a private balcony and it was perfect. Homie beach vibes and the PERFECT spot to watch the sunrise. Enjoyed a nice glass of wine and watching the waves roll in. Can’t wait to book this room again.
- 3/5
Spike up prices on weekend which is understandable but overall good right by the beach, breakfast people need a raise!!
- 5/5
Always a wonderful stay! They still allow you to park while cruising for no charge and restaurant is fantastic.
- 5/5
Comfortable bed great heater and super shower
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the Beach view room on the second floor. Breakfast was hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and the lady there is awesome! She makes the start of the day bright and fun! All the people we talked to were super nice. The room had retro looking frig and microwave, was a good size with even a small table and two chairs and the bed was comfy. Location can't be beat as it's right on the Seawall. And we parked close to our room. It's not a luxury hotel but it's got everything we needed, great people and clean, and we stay here often. I would highly recommend staying here.
- 3/5
Waaaay overpriced for what you get. Seems like the place hasn't been updated since the late 1980s. But the beds were pretty comfortable.
- 5/5
Cute retro decor, free cruise parking
- 4/5
Maybe random… But I really wish that upgrade their 2 foot chess pieces in their yard… he tried really hard to make it work, but they definitely need a whole new set
- 2/5
The room was made to look nice, but there were live bugs in the tub, dead bugs on the shelve above the bed, and the door had a big gap letting sun and wind in. The carpet was dirty and under the microwave there was food and liquid under it. Even though there was stricken noise ordnance that was supposed to be in place it was loud at all hours. We slept in the car!
- 2/5
Hotel is very dated, shower pressure non existent (shower pretymuch unuseable. Room was clean, bed comfortable, nice linens. Nick's Restaurant was excellent.
- 1/5
Room was neglected. Nothing was the same as the photos. Doors don’t shut properly so you can hear highway.
- 5/5
Loved our room is an understatement! So quaint, cozy beachside hotel. Absolutely beautiful rooms. Would stay again. Great breakfast, friendly with amazing views.
- 3/5
This place is in need of a renovation. I don't think anything has been done to this property since it opened. When I came and got my room key I opened up the door and they haven't even cleaned the room pizza boxes on the floor unmade beds. I didn't even want to stay there after that
- 5/5
The outdoor pool was clean and adorable. It was too cold for us to get in, but we still loved it! There’s also a great setup in the back for kids, including life-size chess and a green space to play soccer. Breakfast each morning was phenomenal, and the staff were amazing, so kind and welcoming throughout our stay. 10/10 experience. We will absolutely be back and will be recommending this place to everyone!
- 4/5
Nice breakfast Beautiful view of beach
- 1/5
This particular hotel had a horrible smell starting right at the front desk, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The parking area was under construction, and the pool was dirty and ridiculously small, nothing close to what was advertised. This is definitely the last time I will use Expedia to book hotels or flights. From now on, I prefer to book directly through the hotels’ official websites. Do not be misled by misleading photos and descriptions
- 4/5
There was blood on a pillow case and the toilet kept running water
- 5/5
Clean, convenient and very accommodating.
- 5/5
Courteous staff, fantastic pool, rooms old but clean. Great breakfast, free parking.
- 4/5
Great location, clean room & extremely nice employees
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my stay at the Seaside Inn! I loved the view of the pool and the extra privacy of my room and balcony. My only concern was the palm trees that blocked sunrise. I know to get a room further down next time. Thank you for helping to make my NYE perfect.
- 5/5
Room was clean, lot to choose from at the hot breakfast. Hotel was easy to get to and in a great location overlooking the beach.
- 5/5
What great staff and a retro feel!! Love this place
- 5/5
It was such a cute place. The room was clean and comfortable. The ladies that served breakfast were so sweet.
- 3/5
Room was ok , needs some better cleaning and remodeling. Overall the building is old. Breakfast was also ok . I was missing some fresh fruit and Joghurt. The breakfast room also seemed a bit dirty (floor, corners and counters) we loved the restaurant and pool area. And overall it was a nice stay.
- 5/5
Loved it we go here every year for new years!!!
- 5/5
Entire property was very clean and kept. Staff was spot on service and breakfast was great. Definitely recommend
- 5/5
Was nice clan very good service
- 5/5
Homey
- 5/5
Easy check in, friendly staff and room was very nice
- 4/5
It was such a nice property. It’s right next to a restaurant and bar. The closeness to the beach and the pool availability. But there is definitely a safety issue with the electrical appliances. The lights kept flickering and the A/C shut off on its own and the main switch had to be utilized to turn it back on. Don’t expect to get a desk attendant to help you without waiting an hour or so for entrance onto the property. They don’t answer the phones and they aren’t at the desk when you do find a way in. The morning breakfast ladies give you the feel and southern comfort of being welcomed home and making sure you don’t leave hungry. Even considering what they have to work with concerning the food. It was a nice getaway. We’ll have to come back for another experience because I believe this place has great potential. Its location plus the games out side and surroundings, the gated pool and jacuzzi, which we weren’t able to use. Gotta come back for that experience.
- 5/5
Erin, the staff member who checked me in was most stellar in addition to all the other staff members I had met, all very kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Great Hotel
- 5/5
Great pool and hot tub. Rooms are cute. A little expensive on the weekends but during the week it is great.
- 1/5
This hotel was terrible. It was old, nasty, and shady. We had to ask for a new room because how disgusting the first room they gave us. The breakfast was also disgusting. If you can afford to pay more to stay somewhere else, i would highly recommend it.
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
Wasn't what I expected. The grounds are exciting, like a little island. The staff is about as courteous as one can get and very efficient whatever needs to be done. Great place to stay
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great pool and hot tub. Breakfast staff was friendly and kind.
- 1/5
We spent a pretty penny to NOT have ocean views and got stuck in an OLD, stinky, dirty, seriously-outdated, might-as-well-be-homeless room. SORELY disappointed. But Galveston was nice. :) Go SEE Galveston--just DON'T STAY HERE.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was quaint and very clean. Pools are amazing, beautiful ocean view, and attached restaurants, Rick's and Gaido's were outstanding. Breakfast was great, too. Don't waste your money on large, chain hotels, this place is relaxing and appears to be staffed by very friendly, kind locals.
- 4/5
Yes
- 4/5
The location was perfect for our needs. The bed was comfortable. The staff was great. The property could use a little freshening up, but that is to be expected of a location so close to the beach.
- 5/5
This was my second stay I absolutely love it
- 5/5
Great as always!!!
- 5/5
The staff were all very friendly! Especially the ladies serving the free and delicious breakfast! Nice room with retro looking mini fridge and microwave. Very convenient to great restaurants and of course easy access to the beach. Nearby is a handicap accessible jetty, which people fish off of.
- 5/5
The room had the 1950's look fridge & micro, really cool! I really liked the large available trash cans outside. Some hotels are cheap and have no trash cans. They expect you to step over peoples KFC boxes!' Very nice hotel, my favorite in Galveston. Thank you!
- 3/5
It was just ok. The site is just old. The view is good, but not a lot of viable amenities during this time of year. Breakfast was slightly odd.
- 5/5
We love staying here, great pool
- 3/5
Motel is very old. You could see outside around the door even when the door was closed. Very low water pressure in shower. Staff was kind and very friendly.
- 4/5
convenient location. next to Nick’s and Guido’s restaurants.
- 4/5
This is true Galveston at its finest. It's a historic family owned property. I loved the experience. Staff is awesome.
- 1/5
Very dirty. Everything on the property was dirty. People staying here were very questionable. My husband was incredibly unhappy with me for choosing this place to stay. I recommend staying anywhere but here. I tried to support local businesses but next time I will spend the money for a better stay elsewhere.
- 5/5
Yes and the front desk woman was awesome
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rafael Piña and Ms. Erin were especially attentive to us and did everything they could to make our stay truly special.
- 5/5
This hotel was the best I’ve stayed at. Best part of the stay was the breakfast! How relaxing it is to wake up and go eat some good breakfast. And the pool was really clean and nice and they have vending machines if you need a snack and bowling area for the kids to play and the rooms were clean and how nice it was to take a bath in the perfect hot water they had in the rooms. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great hot breakfast, would stay again!
- 2/5
The room wasn't neglected, just outdated and the staff was helpful.
- 5/5
The location of the hotel is directly across the road from the beach. Hotel is of older age, but the room was decorated with character and was comfortable. Enjoyed the chairs outside on the balcony. The free breakfast offered the next morning made this place a true gem to stay at. The ladies in the breakfast room were welcoming and the choice of breakfast foods were amazing. I hope those ladies are there the next time we visit. They are the true charm of the hotel.
- 5/5
Extremely happy. Fantastic rate and above great down home small town feel. Beyond impressed and thanks :)
- 5/5
nice quick getaway
- 3/5
It’s ok an older building nothing against staff or service they did their job fine but I believe as I said tooooo old property facilities
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, and the location was perfect. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere and easy check-in. Overall, a pleasant stay.
- 4/5
Staff excellent room very clean
- 4/5
Staff was ok. Great location. More of a Motel than a Hotel. Rooms were clean though worn. Breakfast was Reasonable though not great. Limited choices. No fruits or waffles. Coffee cups were very small. Bring your own cups. Outside seating only. Luckily it was great weather for us.
- 5/5
Room was close to spotless. They had not emptied the trash and there were used cups on still in the room from the previous tenants.
- 3/5
the rooms could use some ❤️ love! staff was great.
- 5/5
The staff are so friendly especially the staff from breakfast the nicest people
- 5/5
The room was very clean. The staff was amazing as always. Love the breakfast very delicious. The best part is they served you instead of multiple people fixing their own breakfast .
- 4/5
Staff, and price
- 3/5
Staff was nice, but the room had shower that filled more of the bath than what came out of the shower head. The breakfast was delicious. The room definitely needs a remodel in the bathroom and cabinets were dirt but over all decent for the price.
- 5/5
Na
- 5/5
However the outside is showing its age and is needing some repairs. But they are not so bad that it would keep me from going back
- 5/5
Rooms are 60's style but clean and comfortable with great view
- 4/5
Staff was very nice and breakfast was amazing. We liked it that you just aren't smoke free but pet free. It is getting hard to find a hotel where pets haven't been on the beds!! Thank you so much!!
- 4/5
Nice staff and pool area
- 4/5
The room was very clean and decorsted so cute. Bathroom was small but clean. Pool area is very nice at night. Didnt get tonswim though, due to lightning. Breakfast was great. Both ladies were very helpful amd friendly.
- 4/5
The room was fine but the bathroom needed to be scrubbed. Bathtub, walls, floor. Bad leak from soap dispenser caused slippery bathtub, so I had to put a towel down so not to slip in tub. I'm 71, so it matters. The lady at the front desk needed a more customer service attitude. The ladies in the breakfast room were #1 best experience I had. I loved them!!
- 3/5
In room as well. Other than that we had a good stay
- 5/5
Price, location on the seawall and the cruise parking option is AWESOME!
- 5/5
His service was above and beyond what was expected!!
- 5/5
Excellent location on the Seawall. Friendly staff, comfortable clean room and an outstanding breakfast daily.
- 5/5
This is an old hotel, but it is very clean. It is so quite. Could not hear anyone above us or out in the hallway outside. Very nice stay. This will be my go-to hotel when in Galveston. Beautiful pool and nice bar at the pool. Food was great!
- 5/5
Its a perfect spot for an overnight. Love it there. Clean, cold ACed rooms, super friendly, cool ladies working breakfast making it homey. Great variety. Only wish it had a cappuchino machine. I always stay here.
- 5/5
Clean room quiet
- 5/5
I always enjoy Gaidos!
- 5/5
Staff was friendly.
- 4/5
was in a connecting room which is LOUD. We could hear the people in the next room simply talking. The property is run down but it is economical. Breakfast sub par but the kitchen staff were FANTASTIC!
- 4/5
The bed was comfortable and we loved having good dining options as well as being so close to the beach. The room was quite dirty. The carpet was damp and needed cleaned as I had to wipe my feet off before getting into bed. The vents and ceilings were covered with lint. The chairs in the room were uncomfortable. Our room shared a hallway with the room next to us and the guests were very noisy, playing loud music in the hall off and on up to 3 am.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. Service was friendly and the place was clean. The breakfast did not taste very good but the ladies serving it were very nice and helpful. I am already booked to stay again for my next cruise!
- 5/5
The room was adorable. The pool and hot tub area was so cute. Bar attached to property you can order food/drinks by the pool. The parking was free and easy. The continental breakfast was amazing. Staff was really nice. Walking distance to Many restaurants and bars. Across the street from the water and there is a huge walking path along the beach. Would definitely go back. Great deal for a great experience!!
- 5/5
Very cute hotel, check in staff not the most outgoing and didn’t provide bracelets needed for pool use however the hotel charm and cleanliness made up for it. Will definitely stay there again.
- 3/5
Get what you pay for. EXCELLENT LOCATION if you book 2nd floor beach view! Funky little place, great bed & shower. Can cruise park if you stay night before (no shuttle).
- 4/5
Gaido's Seaside Inn was an older property owned and operated by a family throughout the years. It has kept many of the older look but has been kept up with maintenance. I liked the look of our room. It was roomy and the air conditioner worked well for us. The beds were comfortable enough. I liked that it was quiet. The pool was cold but very clean and the seating around it was comfortable. We did not use the hot tub though. There are 2 restaurants on the property and I noticed in the stairwell to our room often had a strong fried everything smell. It never came inside our room though. The kitchen servers were so polite and friendly. I did not choose to get the eggs or sausage. I tried the pancakes and they were ok. The coffee was good and there was milk available to add to my coffee. There was creamer as well. The cereal variety was limited but tasted ok. The closeness to the beach was a real benefit. The parking was free and was protected behind a gate that was locked at night but had a code given to guests if you were out late. I think Gaido's is a reasonably priced place to stay in Galveston that is clean, quiet, and near the beach.
- 4/5
It was well kelp for older hotel. Beautiful court to set and eat breakfast or just enjoy the outside. Breakfast was good but same thing the following morning.. they are not pet friendly but i know not all animals are as good as mine as far as potty trained.
- 5/5
Love how rooms are decorated!!! Beds were comfortable! Love looking at the beach from our room! And Nicks was great♥️♥️♥️
- 4/5
Great location and always looks like a great time. The property could definitely benefit from a remodel.
- 5/5
Hot tub and pool are amazing.
- 4/5
Didn’t use it
- 4/5
My room was in the older section, and yes it showed some age, but it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It overlooked the parking lot, but was for the most part very quiet. There was a area you could walk over to and sit and watch the beach area.
- 4/5
The view from our room was incredible. Conveniently located near the beach. The breakfast was excellent!
- 4/5
Good view of the sunrise from the observation deck
- 5/5
The grounds needed attention Too many birds but we really enjoyed and loved the place and yes we will return on our next visit to Galveston Thanks and God bless
- 3/5
The security was very tude
- 4/5
Room was comfortable (air conditioning worked GREAT) and the restaurant options were great. We would stay there again if we found good prices like we did this week. Our only suggestion would be that the observation area could use some sprucing up. There is a beautiful view but the few plastic chairs sitting up there were a bit underwhelming.
- 4/5
Housekeeping should be more attentive to detail like cleaning under the beds, dusting the lights over the beds, cleaning the hair out of the bathtubs. I found all of that during my stay. Front desk staff was nice. I loved the ladies that ran the breakfast room. Very sweet and made sure you got enough food. Overall, very nice stay and I would definitely recommend.
- 4/5
Our room was clean. We had a room with a view of the Gulf from the our window. The door had a gap about the size of a pencil.
- 5/5
Nice
- 2/5
Door hinges were half way off door. Door did not line up with frame causing outside air to come in. Constant running and squeaking toilet. Bed was extremely hard and offered no support. “Quiet time” hours were not reinforced. People starting hollering at each other from across the parking lot at 5am.
- 5/5
Staff was real nice and helpful.
- 3/5
Not much to choose from when it comes to drink selection.
- 2/5
The receptionist was not friendly. The hotel was dated, but I thought that would be okay if clean. We found a live Roach in our hotel room both days. The pool was cloudy and dirty looking. The pool chairs had bugs in them that ate me up. The good thing about the place was breakfast ladies were nice and the food was good.
- 4/5
great area, good value for the price. Older resort, perfect for being near the beach, pool is beautiful and has a pool bar right there. breakfast provided was ok but could use an upgrade.
- 3/5
Room was clean. Staff was nice. Breakfast was cold.
- 5/5
Fantastic
- 3/5
They ran everyone out at 9:00 with the local police not impressed with the whole hotel the ladies at breakfast were warm and welcoming and So was all the staff but the hotel needs a huge upgrade Robin Smith Sinton Texas 78387 [email protected]
- 5/5
Surprised didn’t expect to find an oasis!
- 2/5
Great view. Pool was nice. Bar was nice. Restaurant was nice. Super scatchy area. Hotel is not that nice otherwise. Breakfast was worse than what people were saying- go out for breakfast if you can.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
Great place across from beach. Unfortunately, the bathroom was dirty, mold behind door and on ceiling. The carpet was dirty around edges. The bed smelled on one side like curdled milk. Very unpleasant.
- 3/5
The beach view was incredible! The pool was terrific with the outside bar! The room didn’t cool so well and had an odor- but the beds were comfortable. The TV glitched a lot.
- 5/5
Got to enjoy beach and pool
- 5/5
Everything is great except for the chair in the room. It was hard. I much prefer a computer type chair that's comfortable and leans back.
- 2/5
This is an OLD motel that has not been well maintained. The bathroom was horrible. The beds were comfortable and it’s a great location. It just needs a massive renovation. The other issue was the ice machine. It wasn’t functioning but it was so nasty and rusted out that I wouldn’t have used any ice from it anyway. I could have put up with all of those things if it was cheaper but it’s 40% to 50% more expensive than cleaner, more modern hotels and motels in the vicinity.
- 1/5
Reservation for a king bed in a quiet room. Provided a noise 2 beds room. Disappointed 😞

I'm not a very picky Traveler. So my experience maybe different than yours.
- 3/5
Room however not so much. Can only talk about the room we stayed in, 119. Bathroom ceiling fan was missing, just two large holes. The caulking around the bathroom floor had sand and dirt stuck to it, no toilet lid. No clothes hangers. Lamp outlet had a short in it, you touch the cord and the lamp would short out. We also did not go bare foot in the room.

We love coming to Galveston and especially staying at Gaido's every time!! We have the best time and we love the breakfast and the hot tub too!! We also love that it's right next to the beach!! My son's favorite parts are the pool, the hot tub, and the beach!!
- 5/5
Very clean room and so cute. The pool was great. I loved being right by the ocean.

This place is so retro and cute! The room was clean and comfy. We enjoyed the pool and the bar in the pool area. Lots of restaurants in walking distance.
- 1/5
The room was dirty nothing look loke in the advertised pictures we left a day early and we didnt got refund of the day we didnt stayed it took us loke 30 minutes to get in the property to check in cause there was nobody at the front desk to let us in
- 5/5
Beach view, the pool is incredible, the outdoor bar and the rooms are so amazing. I love the retro feel....great staff...had an amazing time! Definitely coming back!
- 5/5
I enjoyed the pool area and bar.
- 5/5
The stay was great!
- 3/5
The location is great for the Seawall. The facilities are dated and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The staff was great and the restaurant Gaido’s was amazing!!
- 4/5
Staff was super nice, very accommodating! Breakfast was great had lots of variety and was good! Right across from the beach and the pool area has a nice bar. We really enjoyed our stay!
- 4/5
My toddler and I got away for the week and the pool was very pretty, but seemed more like a place where people stay to get sloppy and party. Cigarette butts around the pool and people smoking while in the pool.
- 1/5
this place is felty dirty the rooms looks like they havent been clean for months really months, bathtub cloged please do yourself a favor keep away from this place on your trip to galveston
- 4/5
The Manager of Nicks Cafe is one of the best manager I have ever met, She under stands the true meaning of customer service. Oh by the way you have to try the burger you love it.
- 5/5
There is nothing quite as wonderful as stepping out of your hotel room and seeing the Gulf of Mexico right across the street. Even the rooms in the back of the property are a one minute walk to the beach. The hotel is old but well taken care of and decorated with a relaxed "beachy" vibe. It is not an elegant hotel which means the room rates are very reasonable, and the attached Gaido's restaurant is one of the best in Texas. A great place for a Galveston get away or an inexpensive option for a stay at UT Medical Branch.
- 5/5
Cute little hotel with all the beachy feels. Little outdated but the decorations, close to beach, bar, and pool made up for that. Even has a cute upstairs overviewing area for beach. Id stay again . You cant eat breakfast where its served but its a great choice of food to take back to your room
- 4/5
Great and cheap place if you want to be next to the ocean. Definitely needs an updates on there room and to clean the ice machine but over all a great experience.
- 2/5
The property was nothing like the pictures posted on expedia. The room was nothing like the pictures posted on expefia either. I actually would like ask for a refund. I would never stay there if I know the room was in such poor condition. It's a terrible case of false advertising or bate and switch. Please issue a refund ASAP.
- 4/5
Ocean view and people get to communicate more to their neighbors.
- 5/5
Ice machine area looked like something from a horror movie, made you wonder if the ice was safe to consume. Smoke detector dangling from a wire in the room. All that aside it was a good stay
- 4/5
Great location, walking distance to the pier. Beach access across the street, two minute walk. Motel is run down and old. Furniture is nice but that’s about it. Towels were poor and thin. Pool is big and has a great view of the beach including a Jacuzzi. Has a nice outdoor bar and restaurant. Food at the restaurant was delicious. They have live music Friday evenings during the summer. Bed was not comfortable. They only provide a thin sheet as your comforter. Expensive for the quality of the motel, but you can’t beat the location or the pool compared to other hotels in the area. Free breakfast buffet was absolutely disgusting I would not consider that a breakfast. Plenty of parking available. Overall, I would stay here again only for the location, Pool and Bar. Booked a double queen with pool and ocean front view.
- 2/5
The one thing was the staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is strongly in need of removing carpets and remodeling rooms. The weather stripping on the door was gone and allowed small insects to come inside. The outside sitting area in front of my window smelled so badly of cigarettes and smoking that I had to cover my nose with my towel as I walked by. Also a police officer was on site telling visitors that the pool was closed and to leave the area which seemed very suspicious. I use to enjoy coming here, but will now never return unless a lot of changes are made.
- 1/5
Restroom are dirty no exhaust fan. Bath tab faucet are tight leaks every time. No good break fast. Don’t match online price. Room smell nasty. Worst In same price I can get in double tree. Same spot.
- 5/5
Great accommodations, excellent staff. Can’t wait to return.
- 5/5
The only issue I had was the pool closing at 10

Fenced parking a plus. Overall enjoy staying here this is our 3rd stay!
- 5/5
Gaido’s is a cute little beach hotel with friendly service! They provide an excellent location, pool, free breakfast and parking. The room is simple but comfortable. For the price and location you can't beat it! Will stay again!
- 5/5
Pool area was nice, did not like the stairs and I should have paid more attention as this is not a smoke free property.
- 5/5
The room wasn't cleaned very well, the AC needs servicing, and the queen-size bed is really a full-size bed. However, the pool is a very nice touch for the kids. It has a restaurant, so you don't have to worry about getting out. The observation deck was closed, so that sucked. Breakfast food was so good. The kitchen was full of grannies who knew how to cook.
- 5/5
Great
- 2/5
Very dirty and old rooms. There was a big roach in the bathroom too.
- 1/5
Will not come back here , or recommend this place .
- 3/5
It is right on the boardwalk but very old and run down!
- 4/5
Enjoyed the location, across the street from beach, food nearby, pool for family. Very convenient with a friendly staff. Rooms are cute with cottage feel. Some stuff was a little dated but over all good location. Really enjoyed how the crosswalk was nearby. If you get a upstairs room you can see your family across on the beach.
- 5/5
our stay was good! Service at the adjacent bar was subpar and water pressure was “ok”, but the room was cold and the bed was very comfortable!
- 5/5

It was so tastefully decorated with beach decor that made the ambiance even more coastal feeling. I wish the Observation Deck would’ve been opened! A beach view is what I really wanted. Love the gorgeous pool area! Breakfast ladies were the kindest ladies on the planet!!!

About an hour after check-in, while my wife and I were in bed, maintenance opened our door trying to let other guests into our room. The front desk admitted it was a mistake, but it was a serious invasion of privacy and dignity. Their response was unprofessional and showed no real understanding of how upsetting this was. Later, when we returned from the beach, our keys didn’t work. We called the front desk again, only to be met with rudeness and blame from the staff. Instead of an apology, we were told “we’re allowed to make mistakes.” At that point, we decided to check out early. In hospitality, customer service should be exceptional — a warm greeting, attentive service, and accountability when something goes wrong. None of that was present here. The management should be ashamed of such poor training and disregard for guests. I strongly caution anyone considering staying here: you deserve better. There are other hotels in Galveston at the same price that will treat you with respect and provide a much better experience.
- 5/5
Will stay here again
- 5/5
Better breakfast
- 5/5
Nice clean rooms on the Seawall with one of the best pool and jacuzzi areas I’ve seen. Very convenient and affordable
- 3/5
No passing room on balcony. Card did not work in certain areas. Loved the location and view.
- 4/5
Check-in was easy enough, once we figured out where to go. The beds were comfortable, pool area is super nice (there was even a live band there one night! Love the location, directly across/walkable from the beach. The only real issue was that we picked this hotel partially for the Observation Deck, but it had apparently been damaged and was closed 😔
- 5/5
Great ocean view and pool was nice for the kids
- 5/5
Perfect spot for a girls’ weekend with my two granddaughters! The pool was a win for both my 4-year-old little fish and my 2-year-old who’s still learning. Bonus points for poolside service so we could grab food and drinks from the restaurant without leaving our spot! Nicks and Gaidos were literally right next door, and the beach was just across the street with chairs and umbrellas ready to rent. Couldn’t have asked for a better setup!
- 4/5
Always stay here when I can . Convince for me . Always have to ask for towels. But like staying there.
- 5/5
We Love Our Stays at Gaidos & we Always stay there every time we come to Galveston!! When we Finally got there after 11p Our Favorite Young Lady was there to check us in. Can’t Remember her name but she was there last year when we came down. She is Amazing & Always Makes us Feel Welcome. Thanks for Everything!! The Crawford’s
- 4/5
Really Friendly stuff . Older building . It was ok . Only thing what I didn’t like is you have to go get towels alone . But pool was great and great getaway
- 1/5
If I could give this place a 0 I would, front lady rude and as soon as we went in our room we were greeted with ROACHES I could not stay we left pls pay those extra 100 for another place plus there was no parking space
- 5/5
Missed the observation deck was closed. Love room 235
- 2/5
Building needs mantainance new paint new fridges
- 3/5
Unless this is a bucket list place to stay, I’d look for something worth the price. It’s NOT here!
- 5/5
The food options were good you had breakfast every morning and the rooms were very homey I will be back
- 1/5
The website/photos mot accurate at all. Room door didnt even close properly. Old and ugly room. Toilet wss awful. This property needs update and in need of a lot of maintenance. Would not recommend!
- 4/5
Just my go to motel for galveston...not to expensive and attached to resturant
- 5/5
Walkable to oceon beach and a lot of other fun family activities❤️
- 2/5
The only things that made the stay great were the amenities (pool, spa, & breakfast) along with the great people that work at the redfish/pool area, plus the nice lady that was cleaning the breakfast area. The pool and spa were awesome, along with the convenient bar/food right by the spa. Furthermore, what made the experience bad was the cleanliness and the rude front desk lady who was also serving the hot foods in the mornings (egg, sausage, & biscuits). The night we got there, we went to check in and that older lady was not welcoming at all. She had a very bad attitude and unwelcoming demeanor along with her tone of voice like she didn’t want to be there. She also gave us the wrong room and we almost opened the door on a sleeping family but thankfully we knocked because we had a feeling and he opened the door all confused. We had to walk back and forth to get a new card for the correct room. The next morning that same lady was serving the hot foods and she seemed irritated because I didn’t know how it worked and griped at me to give her my plate. As far as the cleanliness, the main issue was that there were roaches all in the room— crawling in the restroom and over the dresser. It was so gross, plus the refrigerator was dirty and the towels had hair on them.
- 2/5
Liked it, but we did not like the breakfast
- 5/5
The best overall! Beds very cozy & comfortable. Buffet breakfast, the great pool, bar, restaurant and especially the staff 10/10
- 4/5
I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Pool was very nice
- 4/5
The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The pool and bar area was really nice but alot of unwatached kids in the area. Some things in room are outdated but overall a good stay and one of our favorite so far in Galveston. Would stay here again.
- 2/5
the poor is dirty!! the water foggy… the breakfast were terrible!! i book at last minute, the price is not worth the place!!
- 3/5
Its dilapidated and falling apart. You basically get what you paid for. The layout is great but other other guests seemed a bit sketch and the bathroom was awful with a dripping shower and unclean grout.
- 2/5
You can see the vision with the nostalgic decor. Staff was nice and welcoming. However, there was not much water pressure in the shower, both beds had dirty sheets, pubic hairs and yellow stains. Towels were also not clean. You can see in the room where there were areas of deterioration. The breakfast tasted terrible.
- 3/5
We were put in the same room last year that had a smell problem and was damp. This year it didnt smell and wasn't damp, however we did find some black mold/mildew in the doorway between rooms. Otherwise was a decent room with clean towels. The liquid soap is a bit too close to water in consistency but wasn't a deal killer. Shower pressure okay. The door was somewhat difficult to get open and closed, and didnt seal the outside sounds completely. Staff were all very friendly and helpful where needed. All I needed was new towels. Price for weekday stays seems unfair though, but the proximity to the beach is nice with the views, plus a hottub. It also helps that the other guests were quite friendly.
- 4/5
Very quiet, didn't hear any noise at night. Pool was very nice. Had the worst frozen margarita at the bar... Yuk! All sugar and no tequila. I would stay here again.
- 3/5
The property isn't fancy but it's good for the price. The rooms are small but efficient. The breakfast is good, just watch for the ants around the cereal containers.
- 2/5
Definitely not what it seems like. Feels more like a ghetto apartment complex. Not worth the money.
- 2/5
Its way overpriced. Hotel is old and needs renovation in a bad way. Beds are like sleeping on a rock wore out hard mattress. Staff was nice and breakfast ladies were awesome. I would just say do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. There are several newer hotels for same if not lower prices. I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Hard to figure out where to go to check in park etc. rooms are old and need updated bathroom was dirty
- 2/5
Pictures are very misleading. The pool area is ok. The room is tiny, old and filthy. The thick layer of dust in the light fixtures, the dirty bathroom floor, small refrigerator was old and rusty. The only clean room if you ask, including changing towels. Parking is awful. Would not stay there again.
