Red Roof Inn Plus Galveston - Beachfront

This hotel was fine for a one-night stop before our cruise. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The property itself seemed run down. We had stains on our sheets and everything just seemed slightly less than clean. But we would stay again for one night before a cruise because it was well priced for that purpose.

Budget option to stay the night before a cruise. Not my fave in regard to cleanliness but it did the trick. You get what you pay for I guess.

Terrific stay! The employee in the front office was extremely helpful. I was allowed to leave my suitcase with him since I got in extremely early. We also were allowed to use the pool before checking and given towels. Check in and out was very smooth and easy. I would definitely stay here again.

We had some people in the room next to us that had non stop barking dogs on the first night but the staff handled it and was good from there. Bed was comfy housekeeping does a great job, those guys are great.

This is a nicely renovated old hotel. The only reason it did not receive 5 stars from me is because there was a spot of something on the bathroom cabinet which wiped off. It makes me wonder if they cleaned any of the cabinet. Otherwise, everything in my room was excellent.

They were noisy neighbors talking, laughing, drinking. My family and I couldn't sleep. You heard everything.

The room was clean, and the air conditioner worked well. It’s farther from the beach than it looks. It was a convenient place to stay the night before leaving on a cruise.

I love the location, the employees, and the cleanliness. The mattresses were incredibly uncomfortable.

It was just what we needed. It is a motel not a hotel and a little old but the rooms were clean, the staff was excellent, and it was close to cruise port (a $20 uber ride) We got in late and the front desk was manned the whole time. We also parked our car there for the week while we cruised. It was only $5/day and there was plenty of parking up front in a lit parking lot with cameras.

Only stayed one night . Only left the room to walk around the corner to have dinner . Came back everything seemed fine . But the next day checked out early to get on our cruise, the luggage was delivered to my room starting to unpack and my bag looked like someone went through it and further inspection. I noticed my bag that I carried my money in. I’ve been opened, and all of my money was gone.. I looked in all my bags and couldn’t find it . I was finally at a port that I could call headquarters left a complaint and was told they would reach back out to me in 7 business day .

The breakfasts were wonderful, the front desk clerk was outstanding! We really enjoyed the location of the hotel, within walking distance to the beach. Local really approachable. Walking across 4-lanes to get to the beach.

Starting with a bug crawling on the wall, hair in both beds, sticky floor, dirty floor, had to wear shoes out of the shower. Dirty shower. Small towels, dirty shower rug. It was just so gross

The room was big and had an ocean view. Could not open bathroom door all the way. It would hit the toilet. It was a good location. It close to a lot of restaurants, I like to eat at when I go to Galveston. I would stay here again. The only negative was the staff was not very friendly.

It's within walking distance to the pier (30 mins) and close to a number of bars and restaurants. Recommended.

Convenient location to the beach Pool was clean The door had a large gap underneath letting all of the outdoor lights into the room. The air conditioning was loud and a child upstairs was constantly jumping on the floor making for a very disruptive night of sleep. Had to specifically ask for the room to be cleaned or it would would stay dirty.

At a quick glance, the room did not seem like it was dirty. Once we settled in, we noticed little gnats flying around the room. Then we noticed stains on the walls, crumbs on the floor and the musty scent became harder to ignore. We were glad it was just a one night stay. Despite the fact that the room did not meet our expectations for general cleanliness, we managed to rest well. The gentleman manning the front desk the next morning was welcoming and accommodating.

Nice location and great price

Don’t stay here. It’s unsafe and they allow people strung out on drugs to scream, cuss, throw stuff and scare other guests. They won’t handle the situation and put their other guests in danger. We had to leave because we could not risk what this person might have done and we could not have even slept if we stayed because she was screaming and throwing things for so long. They refused to give us a refund when we were only checked in for 2 hours. Worker said he’d call the police and the person cussed him out. He just went back to his office and did nothing about the situation.

Everything was well for the one night stay. Room was clean and the front desk was friendly. We had some kids running around at 2 in the morning, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. I would stay there again.

The room had a very bad smell when we entered. Floors are very dirty & walls, restrooms had pee stains on it. The pillow cases had yellow stains on it . One of the towels that I grabbed to used felt moist like it was used . I look at it and it had makeup stains all over it .

The only thing between you and the beach is a line of small buildings and a street. It is a fantastic location! Giado's famous seafood restaurant is less then a block away. The staff was so curtious and very helpful with any extra needs!

Property claims to beachfront but it is not. You cannot see the beach or even the seawall from the property, there are townhomes in front of the most property which are actually beachfront. You have to walk around those townhomes to get to the street that you then cross to get to the beach. Room was “ready” but there were no towels & we were given 2 towel sets for a room that sleeps 4. Inside of rooms are decent; outside is very outdated and needs renovation. Staff were very helpful. Probably wouldn’t stay here again unless it was just for one night again. Costs of stay does not equate to the service provided.

If you are looking for luxury you wouldn’t be looking at Red Roof Inn. It was an acceptable hotel at a cheap price a few yards off Seawall Blvd. That was what I wanted and what I got. No complaints. The surprising thing is the quality of the service. Everyone there exceeds every expectation of what a budget hotel should provide. This was our second stay and I will continual I win the lottery.

The check-in was easy. The hotel room was nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The manager was super nice. I will stay again here when I come this way.

Did not use parking. Room had no towels. Water pressure in shower bad. It was like living inside a box. No view of any beachswe are tucked away in the corner on the first level. Looking at a car out my window. Air conditioning filters, we're filthy, and they smelled when you turned it on. Sorry but that's the review. We'll not stay here again.

We chose this property in Jan 2026 b/c we found it to top notch overall however this stay we found a room less than stellar...the microwave and fridge were not cleaned for our stay the door blocker was inoperable and we had no wash clothes, hand towels, or bath towels.

This appears to be an old property that has been mostly completely remodeled. New fixtures, furniture, paint, and floors. I really liked the lighting in the room, many lights throughout the room and spacious. The floor, on the other hand, was uneven. I felt lips and dips in the flooring. I saw other reviews referencing the same thing. Overall, an average renovated room

The only reason we stayed here was because it was close to the port for our cruise. The door to our room was already ajar when we arrived. The shower had hairs on the wall and on the floor. The bed sheets looked ok but I did see some stains.

If there was any possible way to give them 100 stars I would!!!!!!! this is the greatest hotel i have stayed in. After a 8 hour drive from OKC they were welcoming (And to Onie the front desk employee , You are awesome and cant wait to visit and stay there again . Thank you and your staff for a great spring break for me, my wife and kids!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guests are shady and we were awoken by a Domestic Violence situation, ending with two individuals getting arrested at 9am! If you have small children, do NOT stay here. The front desk person was on the phone and speaking a different language the entire time. All he asked for was my ID and told me my room number. Nothing else: poor customer service and poor customers but it was a cheap price. Guess you get what you pay for.

Not bad for the price but not the best either. There were blood stains on our sheets whenever we first arrived and the floor seemed to have not been swept properly. There were also some blood stains on the towels and the tub didn’t drain properly. But overall not terrible for the price.

We flew in very very VERY early took hour plus uber to hotel knowing they were sold out the night before more then likely not going to get room earlier then the check in. I think he was the owner, did get us in a bit earlier then check in, was very nice of him. Rooms are clean and basic just what we needed. Leaving the next day for cruise super close.

The overall condition on the room could be better. The floors sagged and dipped on some spots especially near the TV and the shower. There was a little mold in the shower and the fridge needed a good cleaning. The room was just ok do $70/night. Wouldn’t pay more than 70 a night for this minimal quality

The room was in good condition with the exception of the bathroom door. They need to work on the hinges so it doesn't sag and drag on the floor. We were very happy with the room otherwise.

The room was clean. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows. There was no guide for the TV either in paper form or on one of the channels. The channels were very slow to react and you have to go through each one to see which channel you are on. Please put in paper Channel guides in your room! One other issue is the barking dogs. It appears that people are breaking the rules by leaving their dogs unattended in their rooms.

There were roaches in the room. The toilet took forever to fill up in the tank so you had to wait a while to flush after the last flush. The hair dryer didn’t work.

The service was amazing. We needed extra towels and a blanket and they hooked us up!!!! Very friendly. Would stay again for sure.

Clean room - got here very early from our flight and they hurried to get us in a room which was very appreciated. Beds were comfortable for the most part - room was spacious. A bit out dated but price was worth it. Close to cruise port

While the staff were polite in person, they failed to respond to calls from Expedia during the reservation change, which further added to the frustration. Overall, the property is overpriced and does not deliver the quality or value that guests are paying for.

The photos are very deceiving and the actual hotel didn’t look anything like the photos. The whole place seemed dirty and run-down, including our room. The front desk attendant was kind. We only needed to stay for a short period of time but wouldn’t stay here again.

The shower did not fully engage. There is no drain plug in the sink. The floor was so sandy you couldn't walk on it barefoot. The room had a peculiar smell between a cleaning fluid and mildew. The desk was friendly and the bed was comfortable and clean.

Very clean, room was welcoming, counters racks all furniture looked new and professionally taken care of, no cracks in the paint or screws left on the wall with nothing attached to them like other hotels I've stayed in. But I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars because the stairway behind the office is very dark to the second floor. There was no light in the evening for the stairs and it was just as dark about mid-morning. I was there in the winter time so Daylight's not as bright as other times in the year, but was as dark as night on that stairwell.

Nothing like the description on Expedia. Dirt and debris blowing underneath the door, mini blinds trashed, wrinkled looking bedding and no working smoke detectors. Stay away! Don’t waste your money. I just left and walked across to a Residence Inn. More money but clean and safe.

We stayed in room 301 and looking out the window you could see the water pretty good. there are apartments to the left and right but pretty good view. Worth it!!

The AC had a leak but it stayed cool the entire time. There's no beach view but the location is a few minutes walk to the beach seawall. I usually stay in hotels and not inns. But I would stay here again.

The blind in the room was broken and the room was dirty. Accidentally left our phone charger in the room before the cruise. Called them when we returned to see if I could retrieve it. I didn’t get even tell the manager my name and he told me nothing was turned in, he couldn’t get my room number, he couldn’t check to see if it was in the room because the rooms were full. He wasn’t going to help me. No concern on his part at all. Don’t stay here.

This a nice place to stay before you go on a cruise they also offer parking for $5 per day which is very cheap. They are very nice and the place was cleaned. We walked to the beach and slept well.

On the positive side, check in was quick and easy, and the staff was polite. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the rest of the room other than the bathroom was clean. I appreciated the reasonable price, and the fact that my dog was allowed and I was not charged a lot for having her like most hotels do these days.

Nice enough place, room looked much nicer inside than the exterior did. Bed was fine, good shower head. Our only complaint was that there was no luggage rack or surface to put our suitcase, and trying to unpack with it on the floor was difficult.

This hotel is immaculately clean (smells fresh upon entry to your room) safe, has a well lit parking lot at night (with property manager walking the area occasionally) walkable (only one street back from the seawall with partial oceans views from some rooms and areas, pet friendly (for free) and has a crystal clean pool. What more could you ask for on a budget hotel ?

The Desk Agent was awesome. "Omi" Helpful. The price was fit. Spent a little more than I wanted, yet No complaints.

Get ready to have the smallest, thinner bathroom towels you have ever seen. Had my license plate stolen at their crowded parking lot, right next to their front office! You get what you pay for and compromise until you feel just like another one of the pets allowed.

The reviews from this website were terrible. Will never go through this website to book a room ever again. The room wasn't bad, it had a big crack under the door, the tub was not cleaned. The ladies did bring us towels and offered to clean room, but we swept our room since we had cats with us.

Hotel is not really beach front at all. It is NOT on the sea wall as I expected. But fine for a one night stay.

Please tell them not to over use freshener spray. It was almost choking. Had to leave the door open for 5 minutes even though it was 90 degree outside.

Room and bed was ok. Room was disappointing. Paid upgrade for ocean view room. The ocean view was the small window next to the bathroom. The bathroom was in very poor condition. There was mold and dark ambient dirt throughout the bathroom. Wall(s) had visible mold probably due to poor ventilation. The floor tile was not glued down and the grout was broken and missing in places. There were sharp pieces of flooring. We had to put towels down to avoid stepping on it. Common areas had trash. Stairs had rusty edges sticking up.

It was an ok room for the price. Toilet didn’t want to flush, ac was barely working and very noisy. Asked housekeeping for more towels and got yelled at and told no. Won’t stay here again. Close to the beach though.

The staff is so great and friendly! This was our second time staying here and this hotel will definitely remain our go to! They allowed our dog to stay with us without an outrageous fee and the area is walkable to all kinds of dining and the beach. I highly recommend it!

Amazing room and concierge

Nice and very clean rooms.

There was no cold or cool water. It was straight hot. Plus there was no complimentary breakfast. We also went to ask for a extra towel because there was only 3 and we had 4 people. He told us we had to bring our dirty ones in to get new. One more thing was, they didn't let us know they would be power washing the walk ways on each floor. So while we were unloading the car, we came back down to get more out of the car and it was covered in sand.

Dogs were everywhere like it was a hotel for dogs. Elevator smelled like dogs.

I had pulled a sail rail dune buggy down to play on the beach, However, but it broke on the trip down. Manager let me park there with out issues. No one missed with it. Well lit parking lot.

Majority of the rooms were filled with water due to a/c issues we had to switch rooms due to this. The check our time is not as listed so we were forced to leave early as well. Staff is not friendly and uncaring. Spend your money some where else

We booked a stay on short notice, we picked this location due to the reviews about cleanliness. It was clean, service was excellent and we were within walking distance to the Seawall.

Room was good, bed was comfortable, only downfall was elevator was nasty and felt like it was going to get hung up! No breakfast but ihop is 1 mile away and was so good! And not directly across from the beach.

One night stay. The bathroom is dated. Lighting is very dim. Bed and A/C were good. The TV was unworkable, no guide. The staff was friendly at check-in. Parking was easy and the location right across the boardwalk is the main highlight if you are there to go to the beach.

The room was unclean and hardly no furniture in it for a king size room, hairs were found in the towels and in the tube, hardly any parking for hotel guest due to other people parking and walking to the beach and restaurants at night, rude staff me members,the room was not what I wanted for what I paid for it.

Great beachfront location at an affordable price. Room was very clean with ice cold AC. Loved having an ocean-facing room!

Overall, great budget hotel! The service was great; staff members were kind, helpful, and welcoming. The beds were comfortable, which made for a super restful night, and the room was reasonably clean, though a few areas could have used a little extra attention. The shower pressure wasn’t the best, but it worked well enough..just took a little longer to get the conditioner out of my hair. Great location with a peek-a-boo view of the beach. For the price and location, it was a solid choice!

It was a clean hotel and the staff was very friendly. Only downside was that the room was not ready when we checked in and the refrigerator didn’t keep items cold. They brought another refrigerator but it had the same problem. Finally they brought one that worked good. Overall a nice stay, just a few minor inconveniences..

The towels were very old , the bed so is not comfortable.

Great room , bed was a little firm. Otherwise It was wonderful.

I would call this hotel a clean and Improved version of a motel 6. While it is kept clean and is remodeled, there are better options for the price, It was very close to everything, which was a good perk about it. The layout of the building and quality does remind me of a motel 6, which isn’t bad but never the best. The desk is open 24/7 making it easy to ask questions whenever. Stayed one night and I would rate it a 9 overall. No problems or complaints.
