I do wish someone would open the restaurant where Olympia was. That was THE BEST pre-cruise place to party.

We stayed here the night before our cruise. It is a nice hotel with nice rooms. They have cruise parking that we paid 15 dollars a day for. Seemed reasonable. They also had complimentary shuttle to and back to the pier that we sailed from.

If you stay there do not expect the shuttle be on time anywhere from one hour to one and a half hour late…They desk tell you the wrong place to stand to meet the bus very poor instructions..the hotel was nice but won’t return

You cannot beat the location of this hotel! Right on the Strand close to tons of shopping, restaurants and activities. Would stay here every time if we could. It is higher priced, but worth every penny!

This is a great place to stay if you don’t want to be on the beach. Just a block or so off the strand, walking to bars and restaurants is very easy.

I wasn't told it would cost me extra for parking. I booked 2 rooms and they charged me $20 each day for parking. A little ridiculous considering I already paid for the rooms. This was not mentioned on expedias listing either.

Harbor House is our go to hotel in Galveston when we cruise. The staff are wonderful. They treat us like family. They are very clean with comfortable furniture. They are within walking distance of all the cruise piers and restaurants. They have free morning breakfast. They have great parking and have cruise parking available also.

It is close to the strip. Restaurants very near by. Walking distance to Carnival cruise lines. Dolphin boat ride. Parking on premises.

Breakfast was poor compared to other same or lower category places. Not hot breakfast items. No staff readily available to make coffee. Coffee pots empty except for decaf and flavored coffee. Disappointing.

Our only complaint is the man working the front desk. He seemed to be frustrated with our group. There were only 6 of us and we are all accustomed to travel so our expectations were not demanding or unreasonable. We had never stayed with this hotel before so of course we were not familiar with their extended stay policies. I suggest getting someone who enjoys and appreciates serving others. We highly recommend Katie’s restaurant! Great service and great food! The fish are caught daily. It is an easy walk across the parking lot. The views were excellent!

Room was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable. AC had no problem cooling the room. Bathroom was nice and water was hot. Breakfast had plenty of options to choose from including a lot of coffee choices. Parking was right next to the hotel and was safe and secure for your vehicle. Hotel is located right next to a couple of really nice restaurant choices that you can walk to in under three minutes.

Perfect location to stay overnight prior to our cruise. Room was spacious and clean overlooking the port. We could see our cruise ship docked in the morning and was short walk to terminal. Also close to Galveston Strand for shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again if we ever cruised out of Port of Galveston.

Highly recommended!! From arriving early, allowing us to leave our suitcases at the front desk, to paying a small fee to check-into our room a bit early, Beatrice was so friendly and attentive. They even let us check out a little later, as we were awaiting our boarding time for our cruise. The room was perfect, spacious and the beds/bedding was so comfy! I’m picky and this hotel was top notch for cleanliness and comfort! Cannot beat the location!

Loved that it was right on the water and a quick walk to coffee shops, seafood restaurants just outside the hotel door. Walk around the pier see the pelican and watch the sunset. If you’re going on a cruise and are able the cruise port is within walking distance. Maybe 3-4blocks for MSC. Great location if you don’t want uber everywhere. I would stay here again.

We were only there one night, as we were leaving on a cruise the next day. Hotel was very clean. The The desk person was very friendly and greeting. He also gave us directions to the port which made it much easier. We will absolutely be staying here again in the future.

Staff great. Good, easy breakfast. I mentioned to staff that I always feel safe there and the friendly lady at check out said "port police don't play!". I had never thought about that but I think she is correct! Safe place.

Upon check in the staff on duty was talking fast and mumbling and it was a little hard to understand him. The room was VERY spacious and very nicely appointed. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was useless because they did not have utensils to eat any of the food, so we ate dry cereal out of the box and yogurt using the foil from the cover of the container. They never brought it out at all. The breakfast area is small. The location of the hotel was great, but the road out front was under construction at the time making access a bit tricky, obviously that is not the fault of the hotel.

There wasn’t a gym as indicated when I searched for a booked the property. The continental breakfast was very minimal. The staff was not welcoming when we arrived. The room was clean and the beds comfortable and it was close to restaurants and site seeing.

Lovely hotel on the harbor side of the island near the Strand. Much quieter than the beach, and between my 2 favorite restaurants! Easy to walk places and I enjoyed just sitting on the benches and watching the ships go by. Very comfortable room and pristine!

The best features of this hotel are the large size rooms, proximity to things to do, places to eat and the cruise terminals.

If you are cruising out of galveston, this is where you want to be. The room was huge, comfortable, and check in was a breeze. The location is beautiful and very geared towards walking around downtown to keep yourself busy the night before your cruise. They do offer limited items for breakfast in the morning, but if you want more than a bagel or cereal, you are in walking distance of other options. Checkout was also very easy, and their location makes it a quick 5 minute walk to terminal 25 to cruise from.

Best hotel to stay at for a cruise. No amenities, so not good for more than a short stay. Cute rooms, comfy beds & beautiful marina view (if they give you the right room). I paid $60 more for marina view & had a view of the parking lot. Called the front desk & the guy told me that room was indeed a marina view. He wasn't nice about it, either. I didn't feel like being a Karen, so I let it go. Breakfast biscuits were good. Shuttle to cruise was great but was not there @ 8:45 am as directed on our return, so we walked back to the hotel.

Our stay unfortunately did not meet expectations for the price. The check-in experience was disappointing, the room cleanliness could have been better, and the noise levels made it difficult to rest. While the location was convenient and close to the cruise terminal, we would likely choose to stay elsewhere next time.

Right there on the ocean. Nice, clean, quiet, comfortable rooms, contemporary shower. Close to the downtown area. Walkable to many attractions and the all the cruises terminals within 10-15 minutes. For people with a lot of luggage they have transfers to all cruise terminals.

This is one of the best kept secrets in Galveston!! Only a block off the Strand and between two great restaurants.....Willy G's and Katty's. The room was spacious, reasonably priced, and the staff was great!!

Dee is at the front desk during the day, all I can say is that she is amazing ! The room was nice and had all we needed. This is a perfect place to stay if boarding the Carnival Cruise line the next day, just about a 5-8 minute walk. If you stay there are a few restaurants that are maybe a minute walk, plus you can park your car their for a very resonable price. All said we have booked our next stay there as well.

Dee is amazing!! You have a superstar that truly cares for each and every guest! She is genuine and very thoughtful, which comes naturally for her!! I left my medicine in the refrigerator when I checked out and I didn’t realize it. She knew I was getting on a ship to leave on a cruise. Dee contacted me and she was able to coordinate/ bring it to me as I was already on the ship. Dee is so hospitality oriented! As a retired Hotel Security Director/ Guest Service in the industry you are very fortunate to have her!! I sure do hope you will recognize her for the outstanding job she does for your company!!! Dee is one of a kind!!

The rooms were overbooked and we were transferred to another hotel on which we had to pay extra for. We were further away from were we wantes to be. It was just an inconvenience. The gentleman at the desk was rude.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was not exactly friendly, but did their jobs well. We booked for cruise parking thinking we could walk to port. It's possible to do so, but not easily - due to construction going on at port and streets leading to it. Shuttle to the port was easy to catch, well timed and quick. Return trip wasn't as easy - 3 pick-up times and a possible trip of 45 min. before getting to the car. They advised we send one person to walk to the car and pick the rest of us up, which is what we did. Most of this isn't the fault of the hotel - it's due to the construction.

Out of their control but it is different to sleep when ships are blowing their horns constantly in the mornings due to fog. Also need a secured luggage area. Stop charging for parking for the nights we have a reservation.

The location of the hotel is perfect for restaurants and shopping. We always get a room with a bay view we always see dolphins and boat watch. The bed are so comfortable and the rooms are large. The breakfast is simple pancakes, cereal,fruit and bagels but included and we enjoy it with the free local paper. We stay here everytime we come to town and walk to happy hour and Willie G's next door for wonderful seafood.highly recommend this hotel.

The room was very clean and extremely spacious with a beautiful view of the harbor. What I did not like is when we showed up.We knew we were early, and we planned to walk around, but the gal at the front desk seemed oblivious to helping us. It took three trips back to the front desk for her to get me into the restroom, which required a key. Likewise, when it was time to leave, she just told us me in the street, waiting for our cruise bus. Since there was no one else waiting, it was very random.And we weren't even sure we were in the right part of the street. The person who worked in the evening, he was wonderful.He was very helpful and you could tell.He enjoyed his job. The breakfast room is a very sketchy situation, with four tables and a number of large families.The food was not good.So plan on going out to breakfast.

The hotel is perfectly located for the Port, UTMB or The Strand area of Galveston. The rooms were spacious and spotless. I really liked that the showers are glass rather than having a shower curtain. The staff is amazing! I dealt with Travis, Beatrice and Dee. Dee was a Godsend! She took care of me when my schedule changed. She had a very open line of communication. I had packages sent there that were taken care of and upon checkout I forgot a toiletry bag that they retrieved and held for me for a week until I was off of the ship. Dee even called me while we were at sea to check on things and let me know my belongs were secured. I HIGHLY recommend Harbor House!

The room was great! The size, the bed and the size of shower. I'm not sure what the other rooms are like but I will recommend room 311 to anyone that stays there. The desk clerk was not always available but we were able to make due on our own. Will definitely return!

Room was great and the view of the harbor amazing! We loved watching the boats and dolphins. Dee provided excellent customer service. Only complaint was that the walls are thin and it's incredibly noisy. We will definitely be back!

Room was a bit run down,coffee pot was not working. I would not stay here again overpriced for the condition of the room. Not much to do in the area only restraunts and bars.

Traveling to the Disney Cruise the staff was amazing even allowed us to check in earlier. The breakfast was great especially right before heading home. It was also very close to dining and shops, including walking distance. Loved it because if you’d like, they also have shuttle service to the port.

They’ve kind of let the room deteriorate a little. TV was going out, furnishings showing signs of wear. Breakfast and vending options should be a lot better when charging 300+ a night for some rooms.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms with easy access to the Strand and restaurants. The outside deck was closed with no furniture which is shown in the advertisements. Had booked in hopes we would be able to kick back and relax while observing the activities in the ship channel.

Great location however it was not the cleanest. The fan did not work in our room and there was not many outlets. Very overpriced for the room conditions but very convenient being so close to the cruise port. I probably won’t stay here again because for this price I could stay at the Tremont.

Dee was really friendly and helpful. I found the room very dark and feel there should be more ceiling lighting.

The air conditioner quit working, the coffee maker in the room didn’t work and the elevator quit working. Electrical issues. I called the front desk twice and no one answered. I reported to front desk, Beatrice, and she refunded the parking but couldn’t refund to hotels.com nor Expedia. I’d like a refund. Your customer service number nor email customer.service email is working.

This is a lovely place to stay close to the harbor. If taking a cruise you can walk or shuttle to the port. It is walking distance to The Strand and many restaurants.

It was great . If you stay here just walk down to the water and watch the dolphins play and swim

Great place to stay if you’re going on a cruise out of Galveston TX

Got into room with myself, husband, and our older daughter and 11yo son. Room had a frosted glass wall between room and bathroom that you could see shadows and outlines as we were in the bathroom. It definitely wasn't meant to share with others if you don't want them seeing you dress. Heads up!

We decided to leave our vehicle in their parking lot #2 during our cruise and hotel clerk said she would charge our room the cost of parking. She charged us $129. When we returned from cruise, the gate wouldn’t open so we had to call the company and they said they were never paid. We had to pay twice for the parking. Hotel is running a shady business for sure.

Great, clean, comfortable place. It had lots of neat character and a nice parking lot. Alot of amazing restaurants within walking distance. Just a block from the strand, so very convenient. The hotel also has a nice sitting area that borders a sidewalk that leads over to Katies seafood. On the other side, just across a beautiful courtyard area. Is Willie Gs steakhouse. Overall...we loved our little gettaway, and will definitely be back to stay again.

The only bad thing is that they charge $20 for early check in. I did not check in early. Otherwise place is close to The Stand (historic center of Galveston), check in was easy and the room is large and clean.

I booked this for my stepdad for convenience to the cruise ship. He said it was perfect and was easy to get to the cruise ship on the day of departure.

This hotel is adorable and so clean! Ms. Dee check this in when we arrived. Harbor House is very lucky to have Miss Dee working for them. She is pleasant, friendly, and you can tell she likes her job. She is so fun to talk to. She gave us a lot of information for dinner where to walk around just to enjoy the day. We just enjoyed visiting with her we will stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. Easy to get in and out of the building. Big clean room. Only negative is the sink stopped draining and we told the staff twice and it was never fixed. Other than that we would stay there again.

Wish there was a lower mirror/makeup spot outside of bathroom too.

The room and property were nice overall. For the price point, I’ve stayed at hotels that offered a bit more, but this one was very convenient since I was leaving on a cruise. My biggest concern is the design choice of the frosted glass window between the bathroom and the room. While it looks stylish during the day, it’s not practical at night—turning on the bathroom light ends up illuminating the entire room, which can be disruptive to others in the room.

This little place is lovely! Sandwiched between some very good seafood restaurants, walking distance to the Carnival Cruise Lines terminal and a Starbucks! Also shuttle will take you to Royal Caribbean’s cruise terminal which is a little further down the channel but still very close! Friendly staff, lovely room!

This will be our second time staying here and it’s been great all the way through check in and stay. Very convenient to some of the best dining around, long term parking available at a reasonable rate and close enough to walk to the cruise terminal.

The TV was messed up, color was off and unable to fix. The outside lights were bright and shining into the rooms, since you only have a roller shade (no curtains). Couch & furniture worn, dining chairs were cheap plastic. Very nice location, could really be a great place if they invested into the decor more. The location is awesome!

We loved our stay here! The location is perfect just a short walk to shops, restaurants, bars, and plenty of entertainment. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially Dee, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Our room was spotless, smelled fresh, had an amazing view, and the AC worked perfectly (a big plus!). The price was great for everything you get. We’ll definitely be back!

Very unique hotel. Waterfront on the Harbor. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops in the historic area of Galveston. Long term parking for cruise passengers and free shuttle to cruise terminal.

HarborHouse is our go to place to stay anytime we go to Galveston. the hotel and staff are exceptional. The location of Willie g’s and other restaurants there is one of our favorite reasons to stay there.

Love staying at Harbor House.

This is definitely the place to stay at when in Galveston. I have stayed at other places and have always been disappointed. Most places are bait and switch, the lobby and front desk look great but the rooms and other facility areas are run down. The Harbor House is top notch from entrance to the showers you can’t beat it, and the staff are wonderful always pleasant and will to help.

The evening check in clerk was the best. He was very friendly & helpful.

Need to check out noisy AC….. other than that a great stay.

Someone checked into my hotel I called prior to my 2hr drive to make sure they had my reservation now they won’t refund my money n i wasn’t driving 2hrs to get my money either ill either dispute it or file charges on this hotel for allowing someone to check into my room n the front desk lady was extremely rude barely wanted to help. If you’re going to have an attitude do not work for customer service and do not work at night. The property is nice just wish for better out come

Use caution when checking in, they charged me for the room again after i booked and paid in full on expedia. It took longer to get the refund than it did to take our bags to drop off at the port.

This was a great hotel. We stayed one night pre-cruise. Te arranged shuttle to the pier was wonderful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast provided was wonderful.

This was our 3rd time staying at the harbor house. The location is excellent. Property is maintained very clean. Rooms are large, with views from every room. Highly recommended.

Our one night stay at the Harbor House was peaceful and quiet. Great sunset out over the harbor, and the bed and cold AC made for some great sleeping. We dined at Katie's next door, but there are lots of good options close by.

Close to everything and peaceful. If you’re hitting the strand or coming in early for a cruise it’s a great place to stay. Staff were all great and can’t beat being beside so many good places to eat and grab drinks.

Nothing wrong with the property and you pay for the convenience of location. We had a neighbor who had a personal concert going on all night so the walls are pretty thin

Only stayed one night but overall this is a very nice hotel. Our room was bigger than expected and the bathroom was great size. It was nice being able to walk outside to see the sunset and be within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.

Everything was great except the Air Conditioner in our room rattled all the time, and it was loud. It was way too hot to turn it off, so we stuffed our ears with tissue and made do. However, the hotel was very nice otherwise and conveniently located near everything.

Lovely hotel in the historic district. Check in was excellent. Dee was very welcoming and helpful.

I should say, the cost for this location is comparable to the rest of the island, but with much better amenities and more conveniences. That said, shop prices for this location on their private and 3rd party sites before booking; and the hotel will NOT match 3rd party prices.

Our stay was perfect along with the GREAT customer service provided by the sweetest staff member at the front desk, Dee! She makes the guest feel like family, 10/10 stay! :)
