It has a nice view of the water and right next door to Sam’s chowder house . It’s somewhat dated. The continental breakfast was pretty good.

Let me just say that the listing here on Expedia undersold the Beach View Room!!! Not only did it have a refrigerator- which is at least twice the size of a typical Dorm size, it had a microwave, cook top, bar size sink, plates, cups, silverware, additional 55” TV over a wood burning fireplace, nightlight, and bathroom ventilation fan. The last may seem trivial but it isn’t. The furnishings are superior. Everything was comfortable to sit on. The seating area would easily accommodate 4-5 adults. The ocean view was spectacular whether seating inside or out. The direct beach access was awesome. I didn’t use the pool or hot tub but they were nice and clean. The room was clean and there is ample space for a long stay if you want to unpack from a closet with hangers, a dresser next to the bed and multiple drawers in the bathroom. The double vanity bathroom sink was nice for a his and hers experience! The bed was comfortable so my back says thanks. While there is no AC, the room came with a nice pedestal fan that my wife used to whole time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is filling.

Nice and quiet hotel. Has limited parking. Near the ocean and park. Big bathroom and room for ADA. Patio too small and no view in our room, just parking lot. Get the one with ocean view. Room was expensive. At least there’s continental breakfast.

Significant amount of road noise. Door wouldn't lock and had to get staff to help. This was caught only because we checked the door. Room had no bathtub. Microwave's clock was extremely bright. Room didn't overlook the ocean as pics implied.

Overall it’s great, although building needs updating, the furniture mattress are old. But I come for the view and great restaurant next door.

The only criticism I have is the tv's are terrible. An update is needed, a little Netflix goes a long way. Besides that, the hotel is excellent

I was very pleased with being on the second fllor. I waa initially looking at the first fllor. Now I know the best way to go is to start an ortho third floor. The bed was comfortable. The shower stream was perfect. I loved the mirror with the light in the bathroom. Having a fridge and microwave is a must for me because we always have leftover food. The view from the balcony was amazing. I could see the cove and the ocean. They plush robes put us right at home. They provided complimentary water in the lobby and had a beer abd wine hour. The complimentary continental breakfast was nice. The ham & cheese croissant was tasty. We enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice and organic apple juice. No need to spend over $1K to stay at thr Ritz just to say I stayed there. We definitely will be returning to make many memories. Of yes and parking was complimentary too. The only upgrade I woukd make is put an ice machine on each floor or put it on the 2nd floor. Having to walk clear across the floor downstairs was my only meh but it not a big dislike.

The suites are quite small — there’s really no space to properly open two suitcases, which makes the stay less comfortable. On the positive side, I really appreciated that the room included proper dishes and cutlery (not plastic or paper), which is a nice and thoughtful touch. The fireplace was also a highlight and made the room feel cozy. However, the bathroom was a major disappointment. The bathtub stopper (the open/close mechanism) didn’t work properly — it wouldn’t fully open or close. After using the bath, the water drained extremely slowly and took about an hour to go down. On top of that, the faucet kept running all night, which was very annoying. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. I liked that there were many organic options, and the yogurt from a local farm was especially good. The croissants were also unexpectedly delicious. Overall, the hotel is decent, but definitely has maintenance issues that need attention.

The Beach House Hotel was a wonderful stay. The view was the BEST part and worth every penny we paid. The fact we could walk to Sam's Chowder House was also nice. The room was clean and the staff was accommodating and patient with our many questions. We will return again for our next mini staycation!

The ocean view rooms were beautiful and my daughter slept on the pull of couch and was very comfortable. The real wood fireplace was a nice touch and they delivered a wood kindling bag to light every day. The terrace was beautiful with an almost 180 view of the ocean. Wild life was fun to watch, we saw blue Herron, seals, sea lions, lions, bunnies ect. We walked and got chowder next door which was a nice busy seafood place. There are a pair of black birds that dive bomb you when you enter the hotel. We think there was a nest near by, so be careful! Overall a great experience and only 35 min from SFO.

This property exceeded my expectations from the moment we walked in the door. A lovely manager greeted us, and even though we arrived early, she allowed us to check in before check-in time. She made sure to credit the amazing housekeeping staff for our ability to check in early because they do such an excellent job. Our room was stunning! A fireplace a view of the ocean a very smart layout of the room to accommodate our family of four. We made our way down to the hot tub and pool after grabbing some concessions at the front desk… They had a great selection of snacks and drinks… We had been on a major hiking trip so soaking our bones in the hot tub was just the thing we needed! We ate dinner next-door at Sam’s chowder house and slept like babies in the very comfortable beds. We were excited to wake up and have the continental breakfast served downstairs which is included in the room rate. We were blown away with the quality and selection of the breakfast items… Beautiful, handmade, pastries, high-quality yogurt, and fruit, any type of toast, bread, bagel that you could dream of two kinds of juice and coffee… We sat at a table with another lovely family and enjoyed our conversation. The only downside to this trip was that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you so much beach house! Everything

We had a great one night stay at the Beach House during our kids spring break. From the moment we arrived, Victoria at the front desk made us feel like family. The hotel went above and beyond for us. Kids loved the heated pool, spa, and location. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast featured fesh croissants and pastries. Overall, we really enjoyed our quick stay.

Went here for a romantic getaway and it delivered! We had an ocean view room and slept with the door open to the patio all night. We could see the views right from the bed! A wonderful way to wake up in the morning. Refreshed! We got to sleep listening to the animals and the ocean waves. It was phenomenal! We used the fireplace one night as well and loved it! They have social hour with a couple free drinks right out on the courtyard facing the ocean during sunset and that was lovely too! Beds were comfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent. And there was a kitchenette if you like to have your own food in the room. There was always a parking spot even though the area was always busy. The only complaint, no free water bottles (flavored water in the lobby though). Plus, the rooms could use an updating. Looks a little dated but enjoyed it nevertheless. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Fantastic and beautiful setting.

The breakfast for Sunday was great, had ham/Swiss croissant. However, could have had a few more selections, like bacon, or waffles. Monday, breakfast not as much selections as the weekend.

Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The continental breakfast was unexpected and substantial. There was easy and plenty of parking. The room was very comfy and the views were amazing. 10/10 would recommend!

Beach front Bathroom was a little dated.

Location. The room with fireplace was outstanding. The balcony and view were wonderful. The bathroom not so much. Very ordinary. Nothing special. Not as nice as other places we’ve stayed where the rooms weren’t so special. The complimentary breakfast was very mediocre. The worst we’ve ever experienced. Amazingly bad considering it was a $400 a night establishment. We have had far better breakfasts at Holiday Inn where the rooms are less than half the price.

The one thing I would recommend to change is the fish picture that hangs near the bed. It IA not something that’s an appealing to wake up to. And to have enough coffee and tea supplies stocked so the guest doesn’t have to ask for some.

It's all very good. The breakfast has many organic, locally grown items. The room is spacious and nice. Except that the previous client must not have turned off the alarm clock. It started ringing us all up way too early. We told the hotel when we checked out. They were apologetic and said they will inform their staff and make sure this won't happen again.

I’ve stayed here 5 times and love it. It’s a wonderful hotel in an excellent location. There are great amenities- wonderful breakfast spread, heated pool/hot tub, beach access, proximity to restaurants, very walkable. Our most recent stay was very comfortable, but a couple things seemed worn in our room. One of the patio chairs was broken and one of the lights in the bathroom was broken, so you had to shower/potty in the dark, which wasn’t ideal. We will return because it’s a great spot.

Also -- the Reception staff went 'above and beyond the call of duty' to help me with an unusual need. I needed car transportation to another part of HMB, and they arranged for a driver to pick me up, do the errand I needed to do and drive me back to the hotel at a very reasonable cost. Also -- the breakfast on our next day morning was far and away the best 'breakfast offered' we'd ever had: VERY fresh and delicious pastries and bagels from nearby bakeries. A surprising and excellent treat!

Across our room was continuous work of transferring/removing sand from ocean and vice versa. Very noisy. Good worth for money, affordable, quiet at night and clean. Hopefully the noise at day time is temporary.

The beach house is a beautiful hotel right next to Half Moon Bay beach. Generally, we had a good experience. We had to upgrade because our original room was facing the freeway and had a wall in front of the window. After the upgrade, however, it was fabulous.

Annual tradition to stay at the Beach House on our way to Monterey Car Week. Views are amazing. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff was pleasant and helpful with all our questions. A good restaurant was literally next door. The free continental breakfast featured pastries from some of the top local bakeries and good fresh fruit.

Great ocean view, liked the stove top, refrigerator , microwave even though we did not have the opportunity to use them. The only negative, for me is the bed was a little bit soft, could use a replacement. Breakfast was very good.

The heater worked surprisingly efficient and quiet which really helped me to stay warm over the night.

Stunning view!

There is not much to not like about this hotel. We had a ocean front balcony room with a super comfy bed and a comfy sleeper sofa (although we couldn't pull the sofa bed out for some reason and the bedding smelled slightly musty so we slept on top of the very deep sofa). The view is gorgeous, including the precious bunnies below. The big drawback was the small child staying in the suite above us who stomped around until 1am above the bedroom and woke up early to boot. Also a wee bit annoying was that the wine hour from 6 to 7 ended early and we missed it, but that was a small thing. Overall, the attention to detail, the updated amenities (the hallway smelled gorgeous which was an unexpected treat for a seaside hotel where they are often musty) and the kind staff who granted us a later checkout due to the ruckus above us make this hotel well worth the splurge.

Walkable to some restaurants, the beach & bike/walking path. Great continental breakfast. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We stayed in Half Moon Bay for the ease of getting to SFO at the end of our trip. It was honestly the absolute best part of the whole trip. The view of the bay was so amazing.

The area around has lots of wildlife to see birds, seals and bunnies! The ocean water was not safe to swim in due to high bacteria levels. There are great restaurants and shopping nearby. Nice walking trails and destination.

Exactly what you need

This was my first time staying at this property and it was great. They were able to accommodate me coming a bit earlier than check in, and the front desk was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and the fireplace and balcony was a great touch at night. I would definitely come back and stay again, and hopefully for longer next time!

I love this hotel. It is beautiful with views of the water, well maintained, comfortable and a great location to the walking trail along the ocean. Is a great value! The only issue I have was with the travel insurance offered by Travelocity. They quoted one price, but after I booked it, they charged me double the prices quoted. I call the insurance company number but after waiting for 20 minutes gave up. I RECOMEND: DONT USE THE TRAVEL INSURANCE OFFERED ON THE TRAVELOCITY SITE!

Breakfast was amazing, even though it was a Continental breakfast, it was pretty good every single morning with organic juices and fresh fruits.

This hotel was the perfect spot for a calm getaway. We loved walking the paved path near the beach behind the hotel. Close to restaurants and not too far from downtown area. Will definitely stay there again.

Took an overnight trip to the coast to relax and this was an awesome place to do it. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. I stayed in the Ocean View suite and it was perfect! Glass of wine on the patio overlooking the water in the evening and coffee in the morning enjoying the cool weather. I would recommend two nights to get the full effect. Was able to walk over to Sam's Chowder House for apps and drinks and safely walk back.

Our only suggestion for improvement is the complementary breakfast. Thu good, the yogert choices are high in sugar. Having cottage cheese or no sugar greek yogurt with some meats and cheese would be a plus. Regardless, we'll be back.

Absolutely beautiful beach with walking trail.

My partner and I, love our stay here at the Beach House. Our ocean view was breathtaking. We got to watch the sun go down, then we walk on the trail down to Sam’s restaurant, it’s just next door to the hotel. Our bed was so comfortable, we love our room, and enjoyed the morning breakfast. It was an amazing experience for both of us. We are definitely coming back to stay longer soon

Was clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff were all very nice and helpful. Our room was very welcoming and accommodating. The location is great, the pool was warm even though it was only in the 50 degree temperatures. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic and included fancy pastries in addition to the basics. We loved it! We would definitely stay here again!

Good hotel all around

A young lady without even welcoming asked me for my Id and my credit card and without even asking me nothing she is trying to charg my card $1.119,00 after 2 time my card got declined BCS I do have a max security amount that you can be charge in one transaction...she tells me my card got declined!!! I disappointedly look at her and I explained to her FIRST of all I have already payed the amount for 1 night(I have reserved the room through a third party) Second of all I said to her you should have checked on your computer my reservation to figure out if I should have paid and how many night I should be charged of... I couldn't believe my eye...when she kept trying to make me paid $1,119.00...I never ever had experience something so embarrassing!
