    I first want to say the location is good ,not the perfect to stay at with other hotels around this hotel. When I first saw it before I got out of my car was that it is a old building and the hotel is on a side road off the road.So we went in the feont staff was not a happy person. Got room keys and went up to our room . The one elverator was broken on the other side if hotel . Its out dated hotel. The room was clean and the pool area was great but the pictures they put on there sites are not what you are getting . The restaurant they have is ok. The food is ok . Very disappointing and will never stay there again. We had a group of people also and they said the same thing .

    Enjoyed the stay and staff was amazing. However, the water on the floor in the hall from the elevator was so deep that I got my pant legs wet. Also, I don’t think the hall on the 4th floor had been swept in weeks.

    The hotel itself is quite old, but the rooms have been updated. The restaurant and bar is only open a couple hours a day, and not the hours that are posted even on their own QR code link in the room. A lot of the rooms face the indoor pool, which means you can smell chlorine in your room and any kind of noise at the pool, i.e. kids running and playing sounds as if it’s right in your room. In my case, I was trying to go to sleep by 9 o’clock, so I could get up and out by four or five in the morning, and of course that’s when a family decided to take their young kids to the pool yelling and screaming… They were having a good time, but I was not. The staff were less than helpful, when I called the place a room service order during the hours at the restaurant and room are supposed to be open. They told me the restaurant was not open for another hour, and I mentioned that I was surprised because I just used their QR code link and it said the restaurant was open and they just said “well it’s not” and then they hung up. Breakfast was not included in the price, which is a surprise… There’s literally a very similar hotel in the parking lot beside it. That does include breakfast for less than what I paid to stay here. That hotel looked just as nice as this one, I should’ve stayed there.

    Upon arrival I asked for a handicapped accessible room. No problem with that request. Room was nice and walk in shower was great. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again. Parking was also a plus.

    Coffee ended early and just wasn't aware of the timing when it was there from and til. My first room looked at a closet and had a chlorine smell. I think guests need to know that in advance and definitely a lower price if you choose to stay in that room.

    Around 10pm children run in front at my room and Knock on my door. Not only one time ! I'm call at front desk and the said change for other room For this around 10.45pm I'm so close call at 911 because the child not stop the knock my door and running.     This hotel is clean, the staff is lovely and the beds are comfortable. Oddly, many of the rooms do not have windows to the outside, but rather windows to the indoor pool. As a result the rooms do smell a bit of chlorine. The rooms are also well designed and decorated but very dark!

    Our room appeared clean however- the lights were so dim , we couldn’t see ! There were 2 bedside lamps, ( very dim) and one dim light in the foyer. Bathroom was a little better , but the lighted makeup mirror was dim and apparently installed by a short person as I had to stoop to use it. We did have a sliding glass door , but the only thing we could see was a hallway , so no light there either.

    The spacious rooms were well laid out, indoor pool area was very clean. Layout of the rooms and lobby were well accessible for someone in a wheelchair/crutches. Plenty of parking. Front Desk staff was very friendly and visible. The hotel was easily accessible from the interstate. The location included a restaurant/bar area that provided a nice place to eat, either in house orders or takeaway. There was only 1 lamp in the room which made the space very dark and overall uncomfortable. No other lighting except from the bathroom and opening the curtains did not help as the parking lot lighting was dim.

    Comments on our room: lighting was not good with only three lamps. The bathroom is poorly designed. The commode is parked next to the shower door with only one foot of clearance width to squeeze through to enter the shower while there was 3 feet of empty space on the other side of the commode. The door into the shower/commode room opened directly in front of the commode with only 1/4” clearance. No towel racks anywhere so towels had to be hung on the glass shower divider.

    We stayed here for one night during our James Madison tour, and I would not recommend this hotel. Our room had a huge gap under the door, the shower tile was cracked, and the floor was nasty, there was no coffee in the hotel lobby during our stay, etc. There are many other hotels in the area to choose from. We picked this one for the Hilton honor points.

    The beds were comfortable and the staff were super nice and welcoming. The location was great because you are literally close to ALOT of stores and restaurants. I would recommend this area to others. Although we didnt have any issues, the pool was very disappointing. If looked dirty and not maintained well after it was used. We did not go into the pool.

    It said heated pool... It definitely was not! It was clean but if you looked harder you could see it wasn't deep cleaned in a long time. Breakfast is NOT complimentary and $15 for the same type of breakfast you'd get a different hotel for free is ridiculous.

    The lobby looked and smelled great. However, Room 409 smelled and seemed to have dust mites. This was the dirtiest room that I have ever stayed in. The entry way had to be mopped on the first day; and there was alot of dirt or dust mites in the room. I itched every night. I venture to say that this is not a 4-star hotel!!!!

    We were warmly welcomed to the Harrisonburg, Virginia Doubletree hotel. The hotel staff was very gracious.The hotel and our room were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the hotel looks a little worn, not quite the Doubletree standard. I am used to. Even as a Hilton honors member, we were put in a hotel that did not have a window facing the outdoors and natural sunlight. The window opened onto a dark hallway, so the room was quite dark. The room also had a strong smell of chlorine coming from the pool below near the lobby. Loved the warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival!

    This time the first room I was given had a door lock that didn’t work. They did give me another room at my request but I’m starting to wonder what is happening with Hilton properties. I recently stayed at a Hilton property near Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania and also had a very disappointing experience. I always considered Hilton to be the ultimate hotel chain but my resent experience is making me question that.

    We booked a King Bed. They told us the overbooked King rooms and stuffed us with two Queens (the extra doesn't help us, and the smaller bed was a pain). The alternative was to kick bricks. The hotel itself is old and showing its age. I will place Double Tree at the bottom of the priority list moving forward. Terrible experience.

    When I arrived I was told that they didn’t have a reservation for me. When I originally booked this hotel, I entered the wrong date. I called Expedia this morning and spoke with a representative who was excellent and had my reservation changed. Thank goodness he emailed me a confirmation of the change that was approved by the hotel but never implemented. When I showed them the confirmation, they were able to pull it up and get me into a room. So here’s my rating: five stars for Expedia for coming through for me and three stars for the hotel for dropping the ball.

    Staff was nice but waitress in dining room did not show us where the buffet was, we kinda had to stumble around to find it. There were no spoons on the buffet for oatmeal and it took a while to catch her attention even though we were the only people in the dining room. We were not aware the opposing team for the football game was staying in the hotel and they had the pool facility occupied. There was some mold around the bottom lip of the shower. The hotel was very dark in the rooms especially the bathroom which made it difficult to get ready in the morning. The staff did offer to let us check in early which was very nice. For the price we expected better, and we were not given any recognition for being Hilton Honors program members.

    We booked this hotel for college drop off at James Madison University and is very convenient as it’s only 10 minutes or less away from campus and off campus housing. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

    I have family in Harrisonburg so it is a multi stay destination for me over the past few years and we have stayed at various of the hotels in the area but this is definitely our favorite. A lot of amenities for the money.

    The hotel is in dire need of a refresh. Rooms are very dark and not enough lighting. It is an extremely clean hotel but not appointed like I am used to for a Hilton.

    Went to front desk about no hot water . They said someone was coming to fix it . They never came. When i went back to inquire was told they were not coming because of the weekend and they never offered to kove me to another room .

    I was completely unimpressed by the hotel as a whole. It felt like an upscale motel ugh! it was dark and dingy looking. Go to the Hyatt Place across the street, you'll pay about $50 more but totally worth it. I have stayed there before and it is excellent!!!! if you want a hilton go to the Tru By Hilton. Steer clear if this one.

    Well for the lightning alone in this room,I would NEVER stay again, I mean 1 little very dim light in bathroom my husband couldnt even see to do his hair and rest of the room dark and gloomy ,sorry i couldnt give a better review..

    The air conditioner made a high pitched constant sound. We switched rooms & the second room air conditioner did the same thing at a different awful loud pitch. I couldn’t relax or sleep due to the noise. I regretted picking this hotel the entire night. The bathroom wasn’t clean and the complementary hair conditioner was empty. It just wasn’t a great experience like the Hilton usually is. Staff was friendly tho.

    The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was helpful and prompt, and the courtyard area inside is interesting. I know this is just a corporate policy, but I really wish there were an option for free breakfast, or that breakfast was cheaper. It was $15 per adult, which was just too much for wanting to grab a bite before heading out.

    I paid extra with no free breakfast to stay at a hotel with a restaurant n bar. I get there after driving all day looking forward to a drink n a meal to find out the restaurant n bar are closed that day. It was a friday at 5 pm!. The clerk was not the friendliest. When i checked out the clerk in the morning was accetional. She apologized for not having bar n restaurant openned the night before n comp me breakfast

    Had maid service everyday. Which , seems to lacking at other hotels The breakfast buffet is price at 17 dollar . Which was ok. But, I wasn't impressed with Maggie the hostess abd waitress. She ensured that she went every table checking on other people, but me. She walked passed me twice to do so. But, that was fine. I skipped breakfast the other days of my stay. Check out was simple and easy. Other then the restaurant deal. I enjoyed the stay .

    The front desk service in the evening was exceptional, the young man is an asset to your organization. My overall stay was less than stellar. I had no hot water or a majority of my trip, bed was really uncomfortable and overall feel of the hotel just wasn't up to a double tree standard.

    I checked in, and the room was next to a noisy saw work zone. Refused and got on the top floor, which was much better except for the view of a construction facility, but it was not a big deal. Service was good in fixing issue. I checked out the pool and it looks it touches a lot of rooms and gave off a gross vibe, not double-tree vibes. My thoughts are if you book here you would want to keep your curtains closed all the time and hope not to hear noises. Warm cookies were nice, bed and Room seemed clean but not the double tree vibes. Extra charge for breakfast is ridiculous and missing hot tub a minus. Clean and safe vibes yes but I expect more from double tree.

    The pool heater was out of order. It also has a sign saying thru didn't know when it would be repaired which tells me it's been broken fire since time. Traveling with a 10 year old we booked this room only for the pool. I'll not stay in another double tree.

    I stayed for 1 night. The hotel is in a great location, close to shopping, restaurants and gas station. Room is not old, modern touches and clean. The pool area is very nice and enjoyable on winter as well! Very good experience.

    Booked a stayed at this hotel & unfortunately tried to switch my stay by 1 week and lost my money. I always loved staying at Doubletrees by Hilton but I will never will stay at one again plus I will tell anyone who wants to know about them to never to stay there. I would have ordered room service there because I’m disabled and couldn’t have gone out.

    Check in was a nightmare. After checking in online and picking my room 24 hours earlier, the hotel revoked my check in and blamed it on my booking through a third party which is a total lie because I've done it before without issue. There were MANY unhappy people at check in, which was supposed to be 4pm, but most rooms weren't ready. When we could no longer wait for our room, we agreed to take any room we could get and were given a subpar room in the worst possible location. The lobby was full of unhappy people waiting for their room. There was a football team staying at the hotel and the hotel clearly bumped the rest of us for them. Didn't sleep for 2 nights because of nonstop door slamming all night every night. Worst experience at a hotel ever.
