The room was filthy and smelled bad. Paint is peeling from the walls, no hangers, dirty floors, dirty ac, dirty sink. The sheets and comforter were stained. If there had been availability anywhere else I would have left. First night got very little sleep due to bad smell. Second night I sprayed the room with air freshener/disinfectant to help mitigate the smell. Took photos and shared with front desk. The entire hotel is run down and needs major repairs and renovation

Disgusting in every way. Property not maintained inside or outside. I had pre-paid so I was stuck. Room had an overwhelming stench of wet dog and cigarettes, mold, mildew etc. The room did not seem to have been cleaned other than the sheets. The floor had dirt and filth on it. It obviously had not been mopped for a long time. The nice young man at the desk tried to resolve with some fabreeze to no avail. I went to Walmart and bought some deodorizing spray and Clorox wipes and cleaned the room myself including the bathroom sink and toilet. No towel rack or hooks in the bathroom. The desk and desk chair were wobbly, the chair was broken and at a extreme forward tilt so unusable. The door looked like it had been kicked in at some point. There was a huge gap all the way around the door. Low life people come and go from the parking lot all day, this looks like a welfare hotel with a drug trade going on. If you need to do this for financial reasons be warned!!! Bring your own sheets and blankets, sleep on top of the covers, bring some bleach wipes. Disinfect every door knob, light switches, the TV remote the sink, the toilet, the shower etc. This place has been in serious decline for many years. I reported to the health department. Tear this place down and start over.

I used to really like RedRoof. This is now a whole different chain. The only good thing was that they allow dogs. I prepaid our room, so I could not cancel our reservation. My list of complaints is endless, including mildew in the bathroom, tub that didn't drain, no trash can, a refrigerator that was a freezer and ruined our food... The bed was comfortable, that's where it ends. Sorry, but I would never recommend this motel!

The place needed a thorough cleaning. The bedspread and comforter had various stains all over them. Floor was sticky and the rug was gross. No soap or shampoo in bath and when filled they still didn't work. No soap at all in sink area. And the pillows were as flat as pancakes. Won't be staying here again.

The place is in desperate need of a renovation and deep cleaning. Bathroom sink only hot water no cold. Tub rusted. Stains on the ceiling and on the bathroom door. Baseboards missing or falling off. TV didn’t work. Bed spread was stained. Locked out of room daily and they gave me new keys without verifying that I was the guest. Avoid this place.

WHOEVER CLEANS THE PREMISES needs to be educated in how to clean the room. I cleaned the tub and bathroom before I would use it, it is still stained, a lot of grime came off but it is sanitized as well as the floor and flat surfaces. (A while back I started bringing my own cleaning supplies.) The rinsed towel tells the tale. I DO NOT USE THE BEDDING, any hotels, at least they use a mattress pad, the sheets are either stained or not clean. (I bring my own pillows and sheet to wrap up in and use my large towel underneath.) I gave it a 1 because at least this time the room does not reek of tobacco & pot. Some people are pigs & you can't help that, but the parking lot & ice/laundry room are deplorable. They aren't alone, I do not think AFFORDABLE LODGING AND CLEANLINESS CAN’T BE USED IN THE SAME SENTENCE, no matter the hotel brand. If I could find a safe parking lot to sleep in my car with my cat, I would, and save the money. .The front office texted & asked how my stay was going, It was 4 o’clock in the morning a & there had been a group of RUDE PEOPLE TALKING VERY LOUDLY &smoking just outside the room on and off since 1:30. i have driven for 10+ hours and have 8 more to go tomorrow, and will have only a few hours sleep because of the rude people. and i believe no action from the front desk, yep I called. I HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF ACCESS TO THE HIGHWAY AND THE McDONALDS. Time fir a change.

This was possibly the worst hotel I have ever experienced in my lifetime and I have traveled the world. The place was just nasty, and the pictures online were very deceptive because this hotel looked like something out of a horror movie. There were bullet holes in the walls, a huge rust spot in the floor of the bathtub that looked like if you stepped on it you would get poisoned. The shower curtain was filthy, and the TV was about to fall off the wall. The front door wouldn't close all the way and the bathroom door wouldn't close and lock. This place was terrible, and for the price definitely not worth it. Honestly I would have done better sleeping in a car. This place should be removed from Expedia because they are going to ruin your reputation. I have pictures.

This place is a pit. First room had dried toothpaste spit all around the edges of the sink, very clear stains on both comforters, hair on the pillow (!), dust and grime in all around the room and bathroom edges and (worst of all) smelled like 2000yr old cigars. Oh, and a chirping smoke detector. Asked for a room change and they thankfully accommodated immediately but new room again smelled like old cigarettes but, as my son mentioned, also weed. Room was somehow even filthier than the last with a dried white crust of some sort, like some food, all over the carpets and a toilet and bathtub so stained my son thought there was a #2 still in the toilet and thought the shower would make him dirtier than not taking a shower. I assured him it was only an old tub and he took a shower but no shampoo or soap. And no phone in the room to ask for them. Checked for bedbugs and found none thankfully but in so doing discovered that the sheets were almost certainly not recently laundered. Slept mostly clothed and had a hard time getting the room stench out of our noses the rest of the day. This is hotel that has long ago given up. Seriously thought about sleeping in the car.

I traveled by car in from Dayton Ohio. All I needed was a place to sleep and put my stuff while in N.Y. Red Roof Inn did that just fine. I'm a busker and I'm used to sleeping in my car overnight...so...having access to a full restroom facility, bed, tv, fridge, microwave...was adequate for me. I require very little. Warm..restroom and shower...secure place for my belongings was all met by Red Roof Inn. If you desire "The Hilton Experience" every time you sleep somewhere other than your house? You will despise RRI. But if you're a person like me who just needs adequate amenities for existence away from the house? You're good. Thanks Red Roof Inn. If I'm in that area of NY again? I'll come back. Peace. Buskman The Buskman Report The TRUTH Will Prevail! Find me on: rumble

Room was filthy & had bed bugs we could not even stay with our child hotel manager didn’t have the decency to give us a call back about our refund or even apologize us about the the tremendous inconvenience they have caused would not recommend this hotel to an animal. However Ms. Shonda was very sweet and compassionate she was the only good thing about the hotel unfortunately she couldn’t do much to help us but her kindness made up for our long drive out of town. Even though we had to leave & pay more money to stay at another hotel we are thankful that there was someone at the hotel who cared. The hotel owner & management team should be ashamed of their self for allowing place to become such a dump. They will not ever have to worry about getting business from us ever. Will also be reaching out to the health department.

A week before this, I stayed in a Red Roof Inn at Herkimer about 2 1/2 hours away and what a difference. In Herkimer they offered breakfast each morning, they had an ice machine that worked great, an operating laundromat and a small gym. The room I got was big and really nice, very clean and smelled good. Upon my arrival at the Henrietta location I asked about these amenities and they had none of these things except for an ice machine that didn’t work more than half of the time staying there. I had to change my room twice. The first room wreaked of cigarettes and dogs as the people next door were living there with their dogs and smoked cigarettes all throughout the night. When asking to change my room the desk attendant gave me a room that was even smaller than the room I reserved which was a deluxe room with a king bed. I had to go back and change my room again. The rooms are fairly clean. They don’t look like the pictures online. I picked this Red Roof Inn, because it was fairly priced and when looking at the pictures I thought what a good deal. But when you get a room here for the price you pay, once you get there you’ll understand why. My second room was on the second floor and they never cleared the top steps of snow. That’s an accident waiting to happen. I wouldn’t stay here again unless I have to.

The first room they checked me in to had a broken bathtub with a huge X shaped crack, that was so bad it bubbled out and you could push it back and forth. Also there was a creepy man that came from behind the counter while the clerk was checking us in, and after he heard my room number he went outside and sat on the bench. He then watched me and my daughter walk to our room. It was very unsettling. After finding the tub broken, I went back to the front desk and asked for a new room. I also asked about the man who was watching us and he said he didn't work there, but that he was just there to do cleaning. I asked if that man had access (keys) to the rooms and the clerk said he did not. He checked us in to another room. That room did not have a broken tub, but several of the lights didn't work, almost all of the outlets did not have covers or the covers were broken, there was a hole in the wall, the tub faucet dripped non stop, the tub was dirty, there was dog hair and melted candle wax in the bathroom, on the back of the toilet and the floor, the door lock was not secure and very loose. I was only staying there one night, and so I did not go back to the front desk again and express any frustrations. I just sucked it up. I would definitely not recommend this Red Roof Inn to anyone in the future.

First the tv remotes were a mess, had to have 2 remotes to work the TV, but only one was there, a brand new employee brought up a pile of remotes didin't have a clue, nice kid but, we figured it out our selves after he left. ....We had to ask for wash clothes and towels they had left two towels and 1 hand towel...nothing else. then we turned on the sink and the water leaked everywhere every time you turned on the faucet, we had to use one of the few towels to put on the floor with all the water... the sheets seemed new & were comfy. the pillows were so small and FLAT i had to roll the towels up to get a little thickness to the pillows, the rug was dirty between the 2 beds, the bathroom looked like it had spots of crap & or blood on the walls. i didnt expect much for the price but this was so bad...

Untrained staff took forever to check us in. Room smelled of air freshener covering up smoke smell even though facility claims to be 100% smoke free, shower curtain had mold/mildew on the bottom as if it wasn't washed/changed from previous guest, sink did not drain well, no bath matt, hair dryer was oily/gooey, something gooey on the floor, we had to call them 2 different times to get the tv to work (2 separate problems), and one of the night stands had no electricity anywhere near it so no place to plug in chargers. Plus the outdoor stairwell was dirty and cluttered with old shopping carts and laundry carts that looked like they were saved from the dumpster.

The second room smelled better, but the floor was sticky, the door lock was hanging by one screw, and the molding was cracked. The bedside lamp had a broken lightbulb with glass still around it. The sheets looked clean, but the overall condition was concerning. In our first room, the bathroom light didn’t even work. While moving rooms, we met another guest who was switching because their room smelled strongly of marijuana. Later that night, even though the parking lot was well lit, we did not feel safe. A man was standing in a nearby field watching the lot and was still there when we left. Several people were hanging around outside or going in and out of rooms and cars, giving the property a party-like feel. My husband and I didn’t feel comfortable staying and decided to drive home in the middle of the night, cutting our weekend short. We prepaid through Expedia and are very disappointed, as the online reviews did not reflect the true condition or safety of this hotel.

We arrived after midnight and needed to depart early in the AM so once we assessed the problems with the room, we just didn’t want to go deal with the night watchman to complain and change rooms. The room smelled like smoke. The lights above the bed and in the bathroom did not work. We had to use our phone flashlights to use the bathroom. There was a spotlight shining brightly into our window, so we had to close the blinds. The people in the next room were loudly arguing at 4am. There were lots of scratches on the inside of the bathroom door and other parts of the room looked well used/in poor condition.

This property is disgusting. We arrived on a Saturday evening. Room looked ok at first. TV did not work. Manager had to come and connect it to WiFi. No phones in the room. Had to use cell phone or walk to the office to contact the front desk. Mirrors were dirty, floor was filthy. When I showered I saw BLACK water going down the drain that came from the bottom of my feet because I was walking barefoot in the room. Sunday we were out all day and returned late in the evening to find that there had been no maid service. Beds were not made, there were no fresh, clean towels provided and the trash had not been emptied. The AC unit did not work properly. It cooled the room but did not remove the humidity. It felt clammy in the room. Like sleeping in a cave. Upon checkout, i was told I was good to go. No inquiries into how was my stay, and no thank you for my business. Red Roof Inns should be ashamed that it lends its name to this property, and Expedia should be embarrassed that it even lists this property as a lodginig option. If i could rate this as a negative 3 I would. To call this property a dump is an insult to dumps. Expedia really should consider removing this from the list of lodging options. It inspires no confidence in using this service.

We learned on check in that it was an "independently run" red roof so I assume that is to blame for the difference between other RRI's I have stayed in in the past. If we were staying for any longer than one night, I would have asked for a refund and found somewhere else to stay. but for one night, the beds were decently comfortable and we only needed a place to sleep during our pitstop.

In the second room we could change the channels but couldn’t hear it because the volume adjustment didn’t work. Told we had to use the one set of towels provided for showers the WHOLE week we were there. Yuck!!! No cleaning service the whole week. We were able to make do with the toilet but despite trying to get the TV fixed/working we were not able to. We figured it wasn't worth saying anything and having to swap rooms again. Housekeeping also did not stop by our room the entire trip we were there, however, with how our trip started, we expected this to be the case.

I wish I had read the reviews before coming. The experience was awful. It all started with an unattended lobby with locked doors, as I was checking in. There was no sign that said someone was coming back. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get into my room. About 5-10 minutes later, someone came and I learned that every person had to be buzzed into the space before entering. It concerned me that security was set up that way. The parking lot had large signs about not being responsible for parked cars. Was I in a bad neighborhood, I wondered? As I got into my room, I noticed the bedding had smoke burns and holes on it. One of the pillows had yellow stains that were see through the pillow case, which also had stains. There were only 3 pillows for the King-sized bed when there were supposed to be 4. 2 of the pillows were extremely flat. The tub had yellow stains throughout. The room and bathroom doors were painted horribly. The AC vent had burnt marks. The light switch area over the bed had smudges around it. The TV didn't work at all (said no signal). I did ask the front desk person for an extra pillow and was told they didn't have anymore. I also asked her about the TV and she said she'd come take a look, but never came. Needless to say, I will never come back to this dirty and skeevy hotel.
