Reviews
The hotel receives generally positive reviews for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, some guests express dissatisfaction with the restaurant's limited hours and quality of food, as well as the lack of breakfast included in the stay. Additionally, a few guests mention issues with the pool and hot tub, as well as the need for updates in the rooms.

Pool was cold....inside and outside.
- 1/5
On the positive side, the swimming pool was clean and enjoyable, and the on-site restaurant was good with a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the check-in process was extremely frustrating. We booked through Expedia with a deposit already paid for one night and the remaining balance due at arrival. Despite providing our invoice, we were charged for the full stay again at check-in. Staff advised us to pay in full and dispute it with Expedia afterward. Expedia then advised the hotel must resolve the issue, leaving us stuck in the middle with no resolution. In addition, our room key cards stopped working twice during our stay. We were careful not to place them near phones or magnetic sources, and even after receiving new cards and walking directly to the room, they still failed, requiring repeated trips to the front desk. Most disappointing was the lack of assistance from front desk staff and Manager on Duty working the evenings of June 12 and June 13, who showed little interest in helping resolve these issues. We are requesting that a general manager or someone in charge contact us directly regarding the billing error and our overall experience.

Excellent place to stay for short time. Thank you team for very nice service.
- 3/5
Hotel is okay but not great.
- 3/5
I went for my husband birthday we looking for outdoor pool hotel . I call them before do the reservation to ask if the pool is on service that they said yes and when I get there they have the pool close . I make a reservation only because they have outdoor pool and I can’t enyou it .
- 2/5
Rooms haven't been deep cleaned in a long time. The caulk is full of mildew and poorly installed. Paint is chipping. Heavily disappointed in the hotel. Staff was very unfriendly and short.
- 5/5
parking good, great staff, clean room
- 4/5
Clean comfortable place to stay. Close to everything.
- 4/5
Stayed in the RIT hotel for just one night. The location Henrietta was very convenient, next to Rochester. The two double beds room was pretty big and well equipped. Good mattresses. The AC was a bit noisy, the coffee machine with cartridges made a good coffee..We would come back.
- 3.5/5
No breakfast or coffee
- 4/5
Great place to stay the night after a 2 hour drive plus 3 flights. Easy drive from Rochester airport. Quiet as there was no conference.
- 4.5/5
The breakfast was good (not just the usual "continental breakfast"). We had pancakes for breakfast (they were big, and wonderful). They had a nice sized seating area, and the staff there were very warm and friendly. Can't think of anything that I didn't like
- 4/5
Very spacious and clean. The staff was exceptional. The curtains don’t block out all of the light but a towel helped close the gaps.
- 3.5/5
Outside the room smells cannabis everywhere. The one lady work at front desk so rude.
- 4/5
Paint in bathroom was peeling
- 4/5
Staff were friendly. No free breakfast, but we knew that when we booked. The rooms and public areas were clean.
- 3/5
It was ok
- 5/5
There was ample parking, the room was clean, and staff was nice. There is an onsite restaurant, Petals, which is fine for meals, but it would have been nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast included with our room.
- 4/5
No free breakfast.
- 4/5
Shuttle to Airport was helpful.
- 3.5/5
Clean, quiet and close to RIT
- 4/5
Bar closed too early on the weekend
- 2/5
The accommodations were ok; but other occupants were very loud outside the room and the walls are thin; room next door tv was very clearly heard and we could even hear the occupants’ coughing
- 4.5/5
Easy check-in. Room was clean, halls were quiet. Rooms were very basic but got the job done.
- 4/5
The property is very nice but very large and confusing as to how to find the registration desk after finding the only parking at the opposite end outside. The staff is nice. There are no “extras” such as water, treats, or complimentary continental breakfast. The toiletries provided are minimal, opting for a single container of “conditioning shampoo” rather than shampoo and conditioner separately and not a bottle of lotion anywhere.
- 5/5
Better lighting & room was a little warm
- 5/5
Comfortable like home None
- 4/5
Very convenient location
- 4/5
Parking was convenient and plentiful. Staff were kind and helpful, but signage is poor for elevators from the lobby.
- 5/5
On site parking , room clean , staff courteous and professional
- 2/5
Parking ok
- 2/5
Beds not very comfortable
- 3/5
The air conditioning unit was ridiculously loud and I could not get it to turn off but it was late night so I just did nothing.
- 5/5
Perfect location
- 5/5
Will stay again soon
- 2.5/5
Location to RIT campus Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Mattress was old and stained on the sides that were showing. Poor water pressure.
- 4/5
Clean and close to the University
- 2.5/5
Adequate room. Drab and depressing, serving as a residence for local students. I felt sorry for them having to live there. The restaurant is also serving as a dining hall for the students, and again, compared to the university where I work, they are getting very poor quality accommodations.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
On site bar. Restaurant with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- 4.5/5
Location is great, coffee was hot, staff always friendly and overall great stay
- 5/5
Wish the bar had been was open, but it was probably better that it wasn't.
- 5/5
N/A The water pressure on the shower.
- 3/5
The room and hotel were clean and the bed comfortable. It's outdated and the bedside plugs did not work which was annoyance trying to charge devices.
- 2/5
Bed was comfy The alarm went off at 2:30am and everyone had to evacuate and wait for the fire department. The staff did not address the situation while it was happening and did not explain anything after it was over. They just told everyone they could go back to their rooms. I guess this has happened on more than one occasion. Also, We were not greeted with a smile at check in and it almost seemed like they were annoyed.
- 0.5/5
Very rude, desrespectfu, racist l front desk employee
- 3/5
I read that many of the rooms had been updated. Ours was not. It wasn’t horrible but the bathroom needed repairs in the shower and the room was definitely outdated.
- 4/5
Not a luxury stay, but excellent value.
- 3/5
Sandy at the front desk was so rude. Like why? Ellison and Val at the front desk were so kind. The sauna should be marked unusable until updated and repaired. There are literally several nails that stick out that someone could get hurt on. The Petals restaurant isn’t a restraint, it’s a gross cafeteria. Bathroom fan was constantly on but the room was clean.
- 5/5
Coureous staff
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, and inviting. We had had a trying day, and staff made us feel better. Restaurant had good food and reasonable prices. Room was so quiet for sleeping. One of my favorite places to stay.

Everything is good to me
- 5/5
clean rooms staff was friendly
- 5/5
Great breakfast selection
- 5/5
Clean room
- 1/5
I paid extra for "executive room". It was cold, bleak and had a "blanket" with thickness of a shirt. When i requested an actual blanket, i got two more shirt type blanksrts
- 5/5
Staff and clean room
- 3/5
The bed was was too hard and uncomfortable.
- 3/5
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The water pressure was low though.
- 5/5
smooth
- 4/5
Worth it for the price
- 5/5
This hotel is reliably clean and pleasant. Room was comfortable and staff was very welcoming.
- 5/5
Really clean nice customer service
- 5/5
The staff was excellent and very helpful. The room was clean and well taken care of. Only downside for me is that the walls/doors seem to be very thin so you can hear a lot of what’s going on in the hallway and the neighboring room.
- 4/5
Clean room. Friendly helpful staff.
- 3/5
Decent size and updated room. Definitely bring your own pillows if you can. Pillows were very uncomfortable.
- 2/5
I requested a shuttle not realizing that they don’t serve on weekends, staff wrote my name down on the reservation book and wake up to said time for pick up to be told there is none. The hallways have a musty smell which was not pleasant. Door was hard to open and had key issues each day and had to request new ones each time. There is a bright light that shines through the whole door frame and peek hole from the hallway into the room which caused some sleep difficulties.
- 5/5
Portion was huge, wasted half my meal! Didn't know there was a bar, but probably would not have gone anyway!
- 5/5
Nice
- 1/5
Do not stay here!
- 4/5
Everything was great n the food was awesome
- 4/5
Great staff
- 1/5
Our bathroom stunk of cigarettes the entire time we were there.
- 2/5
The hotel rooms need to be updated
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. I’ve stayed there a couple of times now and it has been a win each time.
- 5/5
The room is clean and I will choose it next time.
- 5/5
Very comfortable room. Chloe at front desk was very helpful. Close to airport. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Alarmo
- 5/5
Very clean& open. Sorry to find out no complementary breakfast though.
- 4/5
Nice to stay in a hotel/dorm near the RIT campus. The front desk staff were professional and the entry area is clean and open. The room is basic and has all necessary material for a short stay. It is a dorm. Sometimes the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night (this happened the 2nd time I stayed here). I asked the students who also needed to exit the building during the fire alarm and they said there was another one the week before. I felt terrible for the guests in wheelchairs. The firefighters came in laughing and the front desk people didn't evacuate, so it probably was a KNOWN thing that it wasn't serious. Making people in wheelchairs evacuate - not cool. It would be very nice if they had coffee in the lobby for guests. It wouldn't cost them much, but it would be very nice.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean, staff was courteous, plenty of parking available.
- 4/5
We stayed a few nights. No major concerns. The dressers in the rooms are a little beat up. Hotel is also a student dormitory.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Excellent hotel
- 5/5
The hotel was great! The only thing that was problematic was that the fire alarm was on 2 of 3 nights we were there.
- 4/5
Old rooms, not updated, students around made a lot of noise, even during night. And the pot smell…
- 4/5
The hotel room was clean, quite and very pleasant.
- 4/5
First time staring at the Inn. It was a great stay. Even though part of the Inn was used by RIT students you would not even notice. The main halls are kept clean and the pool has a lifeguard on duty.
- 3/5
Paper thin pillows, room was in decent condition. Loud noises all through the night, smell of weed all throughout the inn, slamming doors in the morning to wake you just in case your alarm wasnt enough.
- 2/5
Upon checking into our room we found the AC was not working, it was 78 degrees in the room. We contacted the front desk and were denied a room change. After waiting several hours a repair man fixed our AC only for it to break again in the middle of the night. We were offered a room change at 11pm the next night but declined as we were checking out in the morning. On top of the broken AC the fan in the bathroom ran constantly making excessive noises and there was disgusting brown stains on the mattress. Also my car was struck by another guest in the parking lot leaving a large dent in the door and scraping off paint. I will never ever stay at the hotel again. Front desk attendant for the morning check out was extremely rude and was rolling her eyes for no apparent reason, just an overall awful experience.
- 5/5
Everything is perfect 👍
- 4/5
The bar tender was also lovely and I enjoyed a nice glass of wine in the evening. Breakfast was also good...my only criticism was that they gave me too much food 😀 My room was a bit outdated, but spacious and clean. All and all, I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
We were very pleased with our stay. Everything we needed was provided, friendly check-in, room service, pool, ice machine close by, clean updated room, plenty of towels upon request, able to check out in seconds. Good price, excellent location near major highway into Rochester, allowing us a quick rest stop before our final destination.
- 4/5
Also there was a fire alarm at 1 AM (just like my RIT days!) and there was no communication about what happened.
- 3/5
It’s fine for a bed and shower. Staff is not very supportive. They “did not have” extra pillows and had to go get extra towels vs having them delivered.
- 4/5
Clean and quiet property with an updated look. No free breakfast, but overall a pleasant stay. I would likely stay there again.
- 4/5
Nice place to stay. Some rooms have been updated but some rooms still need an update. Staff are friendly and nice.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable room.
- 5/5
Just needed for an overnight. Advertised shuttle but times not available
- 2/5
The hotel is out of date. The room was horrible, the sink overflowed. It’s an old out dated hotel. Don’t recommend.
- 4/5
great location - easy access to highway and to Rochester
- 4/5
morning.😀
- 5/5
Everything
- 4/5
RIT Inn and Conference Center has swimming pool, and spa that were very clean. The carpets were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Air conditioners made lots of noise but aren’t needed all year. Bathroom vent fans run constantly. Bathrooms were clean with good supplies. Good breakfasts.
- 4/5
We only stopped here overnight, the hotel was satisfactory but the elevators were a bit scary and one was broken. It is an older hotel and could use a bit updating, The soap holder fell off the bathtube.
- 5/5
Very nice especially for the price
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and great service. Very clean and the pool and hot tub was great!
- 5/5
Our overall stay was memorable and enjoyable. I had my first ever adult drink in their bar.
- 4/5
Enjoyed are stay. Grandkids loved the pools. The only negative was there was no safe in the room for valuables while out of room.
- 2/5
Front desk staff was friendly, lots of options for relaxing….wasnt the worst experience but definitely would not recommend
- 3/5
Some of the Staff coulb be more friendly and professional. It took to long to provide rooms. When we arrived the cleaning staff was almost blocking the hallway , making it very hard to moved thru with luggage. Also, the air conditioner should be fully control by guests, it looks like it only worked in auto mode. When we arrived at the end of the day..the room was warm. In our large group..some rooms were dirty, including smelly carpets and dirty linens and some mini refrigerators had feezers some didn't and some of the furniture were wear off.In our opinion ...for what they charge, rooms need to be remodel. Also Some other guest were permited to smoke right at the entrance, which it was very inconvenient for the ones that don't smoke or suffer from alergies. For our 3 nights staying, the location of the hotel for our group was perfect..since it was only 5 minutes away from our destination. A complementary breakfast wolub be awesome too! Is a nice hotel that only needs TLC.
- 2/5
Restaurant food was a combo of bar food and school lunch. Elevator was not working all week. Smell of weed all over - I hope they charge people for smoking in the rooms. Our room had a leaky faucet that was very frustrating at night and also the A/C would not go under 70 degrees.
- 1/5
Won’t go. Back, bad hotwl
- 5/5
Very nice hotel room
- 3/5
Modern looking entryway but rooms need to be updated
- 3/5
Decent hotel but the air condition did not work at all. It was 78 the entire night. Not what you want with 2 young kids
- 3/5
This site is in need of upgrades. Some entrances do not have ramps for suitcases. Electrical outlets loose and sketchy
- 3/5
Staff not friendly,,far from r.i.t,and restaurants. Ok stay but not 1st choice
- 3/5
The facility and property are acceptable and convenient. We were disappointed that the hotel staff was not helpful in recovering my sons favorite stuffed animal that was definitely left behind in the room we stayed in. Make sure you double check your room before you check out because if you leave something behind it’s probably gone.
- 3/5
The bathrooms could use some upgrades ie,faucets, tub fixtures
- 4/5
Big place!
- 3/5
Didn’t like loud air conditioning system which made it difficult to hear TV where the volume was limited to hear over AC system.
- 4/5
Service was friendly and our room was very clean. However, I needed to drop a star due to the very loud A/C unit that made it very difficult to sleep. Also, no free breakfast. We had breakfast at the sit-down restaurant (Petals) for the price, it was just so-so.
- 2/5
Very limited food on property
- 2/5
Firstly, the carpet inside our room smelled. Secondly, the electronic keys to our room stopped working on two different occasions and had to be re-coded. Additionally, rooms are not automatically cleaned. You have to ask at the front desk before 12 o’clock and even though we did the front desk forgot to tell the cleaning staff. You get what you pay for.
- 4/5
Stayed with kids. Outdoor pool was nice also enjoyed indoor pool and hottub.. clean room. Breakfast was additional $ at restaurant in lobby
- 5/5
That bed was so comfortable
- 3/5
The front desk staff wasn't knowledgeable about restaurant availability or local restaurants. We tried the "restaurant " and it was basically a cafeteria. Yhe staff took 30 minutes to get a beer. Everyone was very nice, just untrained. The am front desk person was not great.
- 4/5
Overall place is clean and decent. Area is ok and appears safe, restaurant closes early, so I can’t tell much about. Pricing is grate in compare to other places
- 1/5
Very rude staff
- 5/5
Nice location, quiet, comfortable room.
- 2/5
Disappointed by this stay. Had several problems, no remote in room waited for an hour and then had to go to the desk and wait, keys stopped working and had to walk around the building and wait to get them fixed. Asked for extra pillows 3 times. Never got them. Pool was closed during a heat wave all day (opened @3pm) despite their being 2 pools! So disappointed by this experience.
- 4/5
Comfortable bed, quiet at night, vg ac
- 4/5
Room had some visible aging but was clean and comfortable.
- 1/5
- 3/5
Our room was not clean, the bathroom trash can was full and there was poo in the toilet. On the television, none of the channels were what they said they were and the guide was not accessible. It’s a beautiful space maybe we just caught a bad visit
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
Had a two room booking claimed I only had one
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Very clean quiet and friendly
- 4/5
Well maintained building, very nice Lobby. Basic room with fridge and microwave. Bed was comfy but squeaky. 5 stars for the pillows. Not 5 star review because room had slight old carpet smell and bathroom equipment was well worn.. For the money though well worth a one night stay.
- 4/5
Over all decent rooms. Lifeguard on duty which was awkward and limited the pool hours. Very kind staff
- 4/5
Generally, we enjoyed our stay. Room was clean if somewhat plain. No safe. Bathroom needed updating but was functional. Restaurant on premises had excellent breakfasts but was not included in price. Indoor pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. Hotel staff were ok. Parking was tight on the weekend but fine weekdays. We would use again as long as the price was decent. Just don't expect the Hilton.
- 4/5
The RIT Inn is a reliable choice for the south Rochester area, particularly if you’re visiting the RIT campus or driving to Buffalo. The immediate area is pretty nondescript and nothing is exactly walkable, but there is close access to freeways. The rooms have everything you need, including fridge, microwave and coffee maker, though the decor is definitely a bit worn around the edges.Front desk staff weren’t exactly welcoming, but restaurant staff were delightful and happy to go the extra mile.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
Was only staying for 1 night as we were passing through. Lobby was nice and modern, checkin was ok. Upon getting to our room, noticed right away it was very dated, nothing like the pictures portrayed. Bathroom was clean, tub and shower was the nicest feature of the whole room. The beds were comfortable. Noticed that the sheer curtains were shredded, seriously?? I had to put a credit card with a $25 hold for any damages. I did go back down to lobby to let them know about the curtains. Also some of the wallpaper was starting to peel. The hallway had a musty smell and was worried our room would smell the same way, but it didn’t, it smelled faintly of chlorine. Shower pressure was ok, water was hot and plentiful. Sometimes i think when going through hotels.com you get a second rate room.
- 5/5
Clean
- 2/5
I’m glad it was only for one night. Restaurant (room service) was subpar. The curtains didn’t close all the way, so it was light in the room when we went to sleep and when we woke up in the morning. We specifically booked this hotel because of the pools and they were closed during our stay because there was no lifeguard on duty. We won’t be staying here again.
- 4/5
Good. I wish they would have emptied the trash cans and brought new towels at least.
- 4/5
There was no complimentary breakfast. The restaurant served good breakfast options. Reception staff could do better in being courteous rather then being curt
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and first rate!
- 5/5
There’s nothing worse, in my view, that a room that isn’t clean! I stayed her twice in the same week. I’ll definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 3/5
The good. I slept well. The waitress at Petals was great. The fitness center was ok. And good location. It seemed clean. I’d probably go again if it was the cheapest option.
- 2/5
I stayed two nights. For my daughters wedding at a venue nearby. Both nights I had to make several trips to front desk because my key wouldn’t work. It was frustrating because I needed to get not only to the rehearsal the first night and had been helping my daughter with her stuff. But the night of the wedding I was exhausted and waiting for a knee replacement surgery which is coming up shortly and having to mess around with the key issue was ridiculous.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet facility, friendly stuff . but the furniture need update, pretty aged
- 5/5
Nice area
- 5/5
Clean and quiet, a little dated but that’s fine. Very convenient location too.
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Visited for Graduation celebration rooms were cleaned but needs to be modernized seriously poor water pressure in the bathrooms bath towels were great needs new blankets and bed spreads
- 4/5
Breakfast was fine - cooked on demand in the restaurant. It was for a fee. Definitely better than the traditional self-help breakfast buffet.
- 3/5
If it wasn’t for low room availability at graduation, I wouldn't have stayed here.
- 4/5
The RIT Inn and Conference Center was a comfortable clean place to stay. It’s on the older side, the elevators felt a little sketchy. But the beds are comfortable and everything was clean and in working order.
- 4/5
The only negative was the non-existent water pressure on the 4th floor. But - we booked our next hotel stay in Rochester at The RIT Inn & Conference Center. Other hotels have had dirty bathrooms & unfriendly staff. We can take longer showers, but cleanliness & staff attitude matter.
- 4/5
No issues, great customer service
- 4/5
Price was excellent, close to RIT. Property is old, but well maintained. Most staff members had a scowl on their face seem disinterested. A couple of them were nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and we liked the clean wood floors.
- 4/5
old magnetic key system constantly getting demagnetized add electric car chargers pls
- 2/5
The key card didn’t want to work, even if hold away from phone. Tv- small like 32 in, placed so low, that Almost impossible to watch while you in bed. During the 3 nights stay- the environmental service didn’t stop by to empty garbage, restock coffe or change towels. Disappointing
- 5/5
Updated, bright and super clean property! This is our go to place when in Rochester.
- 4/5
Stopped here late at night for some sleep while on way to Niagara Falls so I can’t comment on use of any of the facilities. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Room bureau and desk were a little dated but still in good shape. Wasnt 5star room but was decent and clean and reasonably priced for quick sleep during travel. Convenient to highway.
- 4/5
Very nice property - great on-site dining choices - very nice staff
- 3/5
They was very nice and we was able to check in early 👍
- 2/5
Found a pizza crust behind the bedside table.
- 2/5
My room barely had WiFi working.. it cut out and was out of range half of the time. The tv in room is old and small. The AC that was on warm stopped heating after half an hour until you reset it.. so you slept in the cold. But the worst part: when I complained to front desk about the problem with the AC in the morning they were like “ya we know about that problem already” …and your doing nothing about it???
- 5/5
An odd glitch - the drapes were barely big enough to cover the window. I had to constantly adjust them to keep them closed just a couple additional inches width would have made them easier to keep closed.
- 4/5
Rooms were spacious and connecting to the room with our granddaughter, making our stay very convenient. Our room was at least semi-accessible (though we didn't ask for that), with great grab bars in the bathroom, but a shower/tub combination so one had to be able to step over and into a shower.
