Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its historic charm, friendly staff, and convenient location. However, some guests have complained about the small and outdated bathrooms, lack of coffee-making facilities in the rooms, and noise from both inside and outside the hotel.
- Historic charm and decor
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small and outdated bathrooms
- Lack of coffee-making facilities in the rooms

This is an old hotel, the facilities are tired and dated. It does however have charm and it’s different to chain hotels, so that’s all good. No AC was disappointing.
- 4/5
The hotel is a little old, but it's clean; the staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was closed (SAD), and the bar looks great.
- 5/5
I stayed here several times it’s generally clean. The staff is always nice.
- 5/5
Very cool historic hotel 1.8 miles from the Fonda Theatre. The rooms were cute tho no coffee in room. Have to buy it next door. Great bar/restaurant with nice happy hour and great wines and short rib tacos. It was open late too!
- 5/5
What a gem! The attached parking was really helpful, and a great location. Go ahead and book it.

Good area Nothing

Bottle Water provided with fridge Carpark to rear if needed Would stay again in the future

The location was great. Loved the decor and photos of old Hollywood. Enjoyed the Edmond for happy hour. Small bathrooms, and elevator, but also realize that's how it was in historic past.

Central location, friendly staff
- 4/5
Staff was amazing! Always ready to help. Unique place to stay.. could see the Hollywood sign from our room

- 4.5/5
Functional, value for money, plenty good enough. Noisy people playing loud music in next door room and nobody on reception to deal with it. Not entirely hotels fault. They did kindly offer to refund part of the cost.

The Historic Hollywood Hotel was by far my most favorite hotel on our trip! We arrived at the hotel during shift change but the staff still greeted us immediately and asked if we would mind waiting until they finished the shift change. We, of course, did not mind at all. While checking in we asked if we could possibly have a room where we could see the Hollywood sign from and though they could not guarantee it they gave us a room that we would have a good chance. The hotel is decorated with so many pictures of actors and actresses as well as pictures of Hollywood’s history! So many pictures, not enough time! I have to say that one of my favorite things about this hotel is the elevator! It is so small it only holds 3 people! I stood in the middle of it, put my arms out to the side and could literally reach both walls! I’m only 5’3 so that’s saying something. When it came time for us to leave we mentioned that we had never seen the Hollywood sign before except on tv. The lady at the front desk, please forgive me I don’t remember her name, told up where we could go to see it better and be close enough to get some good pictures and selfies. She also gave us a suggestion for a route to our next destination that would take longer but if we weren’t in a hurry would be worth the drive. She was right! We had a beautiful drive along the coast up to San Jose! When we plan our next trip to the Hollywood area we will definitely stay at this hotel again! We highly recommend it! 100% happy!
- 3.5/5
History and location, away from the craziness of Hollywood Facilities limited, no jug to boil water. Not great for travelling with infants
- 5/5
You have to pay a bit extra for parking in their lot, but it is easy to find and use, as it is directly behind the hotel. It is well-lit and feels fairly safe. The staff is pleasant. That elevator is the smallest that I have ever been in, kind of charming really, and it works just fine. The location is excellent overall. Make sure you treat yourself to a chorizo breakfast burrito from Tamales Veracruz right across the street from the hotel. That was the best breakfast burrito that I have ever had! I would have preferred a coffee maker and a microwave in the room, but honestly, it was so comfy in there that I forgave that immediately. There is a communal microwave available downstairs at the back of the hotel, next to where you get ice for the rooms.
- 5/5
It was so close from west Hollywood and everything was so centrical. The staff was so friendly and nice! Everything was so comfortable too. Honestly everything was perfect!
- 3/5
(2) Receptionist Betty said Stains on carpet were due to cleaning fluid, would change in the coming weeks. (3) Two of the four pillows on my bed had pillowcases that felt like recycled plastic. (4) no charger plug outlets by bed. (5) Room stuffy, needed air.
- 5/5
Great locaton and well maintained!
- 5/5
Loved the history of the location. Rooms were great and staff was amazing. Would recommend it to everyone.
- 5/5
Overall experience was fantastic, this was a great find for sure! We got a room that you can actually see the Hollywood sign through the window, that was epic. The surrounding area was perfect for me, the restaurants were on point... there is a "Fonda Antioquena" restaurant with Colombian food right across the street, as well as the Veracruz Tamal restaurant on the other side with authentic, delicious Mexican food. Loved the staff, super friendly. It would be nice if the cafe place they promote for breakfast gave a discount to the people who stays at the hotel. It is very expensive. But the hotel experience overall, there was nothing to dislike.
- 4/5
Fun hotel, almost like a motel but great location.
- 5/5
Well done for an old historic Hotel!
- 5/5
Historic property with a wonderful attached bar/restaurant. Efficient and clean room reflective of the age. Not spacious but a step back in time that is worth the stay.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Good location & great staff.
- 5/5
Hollywood hotel meets basic hotel needs with a ton of history, personality beyond your basic vacation hotel. Unique and interesting while still comfortable and courteous.
- 4/5
I liked the location close to sights we were interested in. We could see the Hollywood sign from our room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a good sized refrigerator. Missed having a coffee pot in my room or in lobby. Had a little street noise at night. The hotel did not look like the cool old-fashioned hotel from the outside that is advertised on the website.
- 5/5
Location was perfect to go to the Greek Everything was fine
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Great place lovely bar
- 5/5
It was a nice, clean room and a convenient walk to my son’s house. Also, bakery downstairs was excellent! Since it was an older hotel, the elevator is small but not a problem
- 5/5
We really liked the old and historic feel of the place. It was old, yet it had most modern amenities. The restaurant/bar is located on the premises with a lovely courtyard in the back, near the parking. The housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning our room each day.
- 5/5
excellent customer service, stay was seamless
- 4/5
Awesome stay!
- 4.5/5
Large clean room with comfortable bed. Great location. Good restaurant downstairs and a lovely coffee shop/bakery just steps away.
- 2/5
Location was close to my daughter’s place. but there were a few things that are not very good. I couldn’t make tea or coffee in my room. Big problem for me. but there were a few things that are not very good. I couldn’t make tea or coffee in my room. Big problem for me. I tried to change my dates to less dates there so I could go to another hotel and they said it wasn’t possible as no refund. I had a king room and I found it small. The pictures on the website of course seemed larger. I came back to the hotel in the evenings to always loud music and talking from the bar outside my window.
- 4.5/5
Love the staff vintage feel and location! The elevator but it was an adventure .. accidentlu called for help case mt bag hit it !
- 5/5
Friendly staff Hotel had a restaurant and coffee shop close by and was within walking distance to Hollywood sites
- 5/5
Amazing space and room- I would def stay there again.
- 2/5
Smell of drains throughout. Toilet flush very poor. Maintenance also very poor. Clearly the toilets are an issue as in the bathroom instead of a toilet brush, there is a plunger. None of the staff cared. Beds were comfy and the coffee shop on the corner was excellent. Otherwise nothing going for it at all
- 5/5
Beautiful building, so well cared for. It was ideal for my work trip. Pricing is wonderful without compromising a clean quiet room. I had all that I needed, including a mini fridge. I was located right where I needed to be. I plan to stay there again. The staff was lovely and accommodating.
- 5/5
Good service
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful, but having to go outside to use a microwave was a little disheartening. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again, and have recommended it to a few people. They will be booking for an October stay 😊.
- 5/5
The only issue is that is twenty to thirty minutes walk to any metro station for the subway, but a bus stop is right outside the hotel to take you to downtown or La Brea, very easily. There's a bodega, Italian restaurant, and Mexican food stand nearby, as well as a cafe on the corner! Within walking distance of Paramount Studios, Hollywood Forever Cemetery and Sunset Boulevard!
- 5/5
Very clean and the restaurant was really good. We stayed the night before I had surgery close by and it was perfect.
- 3/5
It was okay.
- 1/5
Bad air quality in the room, I couldn’t stay there. The cleaning chemicals smelled terrible and I got brain fog immediately. I checked in and checked out immediately, I was told I get a refund. I called, nothing. No refund, no response. What a joke.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean feels like you’re back in time my love staying there
- 4/5
Clean
- 3/5
Old style , pillows were very uncomfortable . Shower door was not aligned so I couldn’t shut the door
- 4/5
Close to all the main attractions.
- 4/5
We stay here regularly. The clerk at the front seemed to police the 3 pm check in too much. That led to a log jam at 3 pm which could easily have been averted by letting folks in starting ten minutes early. We really like the bar and breakfast nook tied to the restaurant. Pricing is reasonable for this area.
- 4/5
It’s a good value because it’s inexpensive.
- 5/5
Very clean room, staff was helpful and kind, and amazing location. Will stay again
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
The rooms are a bit dated but that's acceptable considering the hotel is 99 years old but it more than makes up with the fantastic cocktail and restaurant lounge and lovely beer garden, a special thanks to Jules who looked after us in the cocktail bar every night, she is so sweet and so attentive.
- 4/5
Nice stay, we had good time in LA. The building is old, but everything runs good.
- 4/5
Amazing experience, great localization.
- 5/5
I didn’t know you offered breakfast. We went next door to the coffee shop
- 5/5
Very conveniently placed - staff helpful - nice little bar attached with a pleasant happy hour - Mexican eatery and Italian restaurant across the street ( recommended by staff ) were great - walking distance to BIG bus stop - $20 Uber to universal studios - staff stored our bags until we were ready to leave for Disneyland - meet all our need’s & expectations !
- 4/5
Great Hotel! Plan on staying there again in the future.
- 5/5
We loved the location, the surrounding restaurants and the ease of parking.
- 3/5
If you like baths, bring a stopper and be responsible. The towels are scratchy - think exfoliating - so you may want to bring a soft one. The hangers are locked in the closet so you have to gingerly place the clothes you want to hang on the hangers in situ. All that being said, the staff is warm and welcoming and willing to help.
- 5/5
Okay
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable. Central location
- 4/5
We stayed with friends two nights. Location within walking distance of Paramount Studios and restaurants. Great bar/restaurant in the hotel. The staff was helpful. $18 per night to.park. not bad. I paid $45 at Holiday Inn at LAX. I would stay here again.
- 3/5
We were 'greeted' at 2.50pm by a horrible lady at check in who didn't even say hello and basically growled at us to let us know that check in is not available until after 3pm. We heard her being unnecessarily rude to the couple in front of us in line too. What a horrible lady! Such a shame, because we later encountered two different friendly and helpful male staff. The rooms are old but in good condition, no breakfast available at the restaurant and not much around within walking distance except one average cafe. The location in Hollywood is quiet far to walk to most attractions. Also as we were about to check out, we had packed our bags and about to walk out, when the housekeeping lady knocked on the door at 11:01 (check out was 11:00) to tell us that we need to check out. Unbelievable... 1 minute over?!? Do better.
- 5/5
and exterior. I like that they have gated parking. Nice restaurant and coffee shop adjacent to the hotel. I love the movie star photos throughout and will stay there again.
- 5/5
Nice clean place, clearly older but comfortable and staff was friendly. I asked for a quiet room and they gave me a very quiet room. Space in the room is small so I wouldn't plan on hanging out there much, but great for getting where I needed to go and having a comfortable place to sleep.
- 1/5
Receptionist was the worse I ever met
- 4/5
Loved the daily complimentary bottles of water. The water pressure was very poor, but the bathroom had good lighting and the bed was comfortable. The desk and chair came in handy for work. I chose the hotel for its old-school vibe and proximity to my daughter’s apartment.
- 1/5
I show up about 30 minutes after check-in time opens up and I'm told by the front desk person very bluntly that my reservation has been cancelled. He tells me there was an issue when they ran my card so they cancelled my reservation completely. I ask when they would've done that since it was a pay at property reservation and he says they emailed me but the emails, in his exact words, "usually end up in your spam folder, so that's why you didn't see it". I am boiling inside and in SHOCK. Who in the world has ever checked their email on a travel day, let alone the SPAM FOLDER. He told me there was nothing that could be done and while I was trying to figure it out still he started talking to a coworker in th middle of me speaking, so I walked out. When I check my email box there is a singular email sent before 7 am telling me to call the hotel to confirm my info before noon. That's it. My card worked everywhere else just fine. There are better hotels with more amenities that are just as cheap and won't cancel on you.
- 5/5
I didn't have breakfast
- 5/5
Good place to stay. Around transportation. Staff is nice and helpful.
- 4/5
Room was v spacious and comfortable. I personally hate soap instead of shower gel in a hotel but everything else was great. Staff were lovely.
- 5/5
What a surprising find! I have stayed in the area dozens of times and never knew what a gem this place was!
- 5/5
Staff was super helpful and accommodating. Restaurant next door (Edmon) was great for dinner, and coffee shop next door had great coffee and quiche.
- 5/5
Glenn was great check in was easy I’ve stayed here before and the location is very close to where I need to go next door has a great coffee & pastry shop
- 5/5
Was an affordable, clean, and safe choice for a trip planned on a short turn around. Loved the design of the hotel and the location—was close to everything I wanted to do! Portable heater provided in room did the trick and I enjoyed the daily housekeeping with free water bottles given. Would stay here again on a future trip.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel great atmosphere
- 5/5
Very reasonably priced hotel for LA, great location provided you have your own car to see the sights. Staff were very friendly and helpful
- 1/5
The hotel is very old with a strange smell. Water temperature is very unstable.
- 5/5
Great historic hotel. Ask for a room with a view of the Hollywood sign (if it’s available). The restaurant has amazing drinks and a reasonably priced happy hour menu.
- 5/5
Room was clean and the staff friendly. Really nice restaurant.
- 3/5
I like the hotel except one issue. My wife was not impressed because of strange smell comes from the old carpet. Needs deep cleaning.
- 4/5
The Historic Hollywood Hotel is a well-kept older hotel at the end of Melrose - about 2 miles from Melrose shopping. The amenities include shampoo/conditioner/soap and lotion. You have a fridge and hair dryer but no microwave or coffee maker. The cable is spotty - we were able to use it but it was in and out every evening. The restaurant/bar located on the premise is 21 years or older. We weren’t able to eat there because I was traveling with my 16 year old. There is a wonderful bakery on the corner with delicious coffee and treats - that’s a must-do. Everyone was very kind and helpful.
- 3/5
However, there were a few downsides. There were no power outlets conveniently located next to the bed, which made charging devices a bit inconvenient. While the room looked clean at first glance, some areas—especially lower sections in the bathroom—could have used more thorough cleaning. Also, don’t try to check in prior to 3pm—you will be refused, and no offer of baggage storage or drop-off was offered. That said, it served its purpose for a solo trip, and I didn’t have any major issues during my stay. A decent option if you’re looking for something simple and functional.
- 5/5
I loved this hotel! Very close to Larchmont Village, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Silver Lake and Los Feliz. The Sweet Corner Bakery is wonderful. Loved the Art Deco bar inside the hotel. It was just a great experience.
- 5/5
Very good hoyel
- 4/5
The room was clean and the front desk employee was very nice.
- 4/5
Lots of history
- 4/5
I would stay there again.
- 4/5
Charming historic hotel. Ice only on the ground level. Nice breakfast option around the corner. Convenient to Paramount studios and the LA. City bus system. Bathroom was a bit small.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, great location, quiet and clean.
- 5/5
Muy limpio, bien ubicado y muy atentos
- 5/5
Betty and the entire staff are amazing! It was my second time here. Betty was working in an arm brace and leg cast, and she deserves the best! I will be back to stay here. Its become my go-to place in Hollywood
- 5/5
Breakfast is offered at the corner of the street. I did not eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar. The hotel is well-located. You must pay for parking.
- 3/5
Smallest elevator ever. Smallest bathroom ever. Weird smells. The staff were all nice and we enjoyed Edmon Bar.
- 4/5
Nice bar.
- 4/5
i did not use it
- 5/5
Love the history and decor. Having the speakeasy vibe bar and the cute (delicious) coffee cafe/bakery all so close was a bonus! Helpful, friendly staff and great location. We hope to visit again some time!! Thank you!
- 4/5
Very small elevator but fast. Not deluxe but good value compared with many other hotels in the area.
- 5/5
The room was clean, staff excellent. The highlight was the restaurant, The Edmond. Great happy hour drinks and food. The Bakery on the corner was good as well. Parking was nice behind the hotel but can be full at times.
- 5/5
It was a very clean room and hotel
- 5/5
A beautiful staple in Hollywood for those who care for the city & its history, it’s walking distance to amazing coffee & pastries, tamales & BBQ, and a sacred landmark for generations of cinema & community, Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Clean, spacious room (especially for Los Angeles). Cafe nearby is good. I would stay there again.
- 1/5
hotel really does not care about customer satisfaction. complaining gets you nothing. Hotel manager nowhere to be found. Beds are extremely uncomfortable, blankets covered with dried up sperm, pillows wrapped in plastic. No full time maintenance person. Faulty smoked alarms go on all night long. Noise from Melrose is unbearable, no outlets to charge phone and laptops, no phone in a room. If i have to guess hotel has contract with LA to provide shelter for homeless. Dont be fooled by reviews. Lots of Europeans stay there, they have lower standards
- 3/5
As you would imagine “historic”means old and run down. The bathroom was extremely small, the pillows too full, the bed too soft, and the front desk staff not terribly friendly. The Edmon restaurant however we found delicious and had a decent happy hour.
- 5/5
It’s is an old hotel with a lot of character and history (and I mean that in a great way). Short drive to all Hollywood sites and you can walk to Paramoubt Studios. Amenities are a bit sparse (no pool/gym/etc), but has a cool restaurant attached and a nice pastry shop next door.
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and all the history that it holds.. Just was bummed that the restaurant didn’t serve breakfast. Overall had a great time, we will go back
- 4/5
They offered NO coffee (!) except in this nice coffee/pastry shop next door but they don't open till 7. EXCELLENT Mexican restaurant across the street from the coffee/pastry shop. also italian restaurant nearby. Location was nice. close to Paramount and only a 15-20 min drive to Griffith Park and Beverly Hills. Things that were meh: The hot and cold water on the bathtub/shower were reversed and i wasted a lot of water trying to figure that out. Otherwise the shower was fine. The mattress was comfortable but on the soft side and the right side dipped a lot when i sat on it (and i am a slight 120# woman!). The guy that checked us in was civil but not all that helpful but the woman who checked us out was nice. there's only one very small elevator so prepare to wait or carry your luggage up and down stairs.
- 4/5
Warning!!!! They don’t receive packages, by hotel policy.
- 5/5
Nice historic place to stay!
- 5/5
Nice room with a view to the Hollywood sign
- 3/5
Small room, limited storage, no coffee making facilities. good pub/restaurant on-site. Helpful car valet attendant
- 3/5
There was no breakfast, no coffee or tea and boiling machine in the roomm, very very tiny room that 2 people can't walk the sane time, one must be sitted but there is no sofa
- 4/5
Comfortable bed, walking distance to studio tours. Was disappointed that there was no coffee to be found, no pot in the room, no hot water for tea. The gentleman who checked me in was friendly but no one else was. Overall a decent room for the location and price, just wish there was a coffee pot in the room, or at least i the lobby and a microwave in the room.
- 5/5
Clean room, very friendly, professional and polite staff! Air conditioning was on point. Neighbourhood felt safe. Hotel was in great condition. 10/10 would stay here again on my next visit to LA!!!
- 4/5
Quick one night stay
- 5/5
The room was clean and perfect Sweet corner coffee & pastries next door to hotel was great the best coffee and I had the pistachio croissant yummy the staff is friendly and nice I will definitely stay here again next time have dinner & drinks downstairs Great location
- 5/5
There was no breakfast included, but there were nearby places to get a good breakfast. The room was very nice, the ambiance of the hotel was very charming. The front desk staff were very informative and helpful and answered all of my questions about the surrounding area and locations of a grocery store & a less expensive gas station. I wasn't thrilled to have to pay $18/night for my parking spot, but it appears that's how it is in the whole LA area.
- 5/5
Parking is $18/night. It is worth it, as parking is hard to find on the street. It is in a great location on the eastern edge of Hollywood.
- 3/5
an old, a bit rundown hotel in a busy city section. bathroom was small. air condition was good. overall was ok and expected. Called in advance to confirm the room has a safe deposit box so that I would bring my laptop. Well, the box is too small for my 12-in thin laptop. I had to carry the laptop on excursions.
- 5/5
Second time of staying here. Great location. Great room for the price. Convenient parking and just $18/night with easy access. Coolest bar in the area with great food. Helpful and happy staff. Can’t fault the place.
- 5/5
Totally worth what you pay. It's an old hotel, but it's clean, safe, comfortable, and affordable. The only downside is that the bar down the building can be a little noisy/loud if your window faces that way.
- 5/5
Everything was clean and the staff was amazing and overall I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Great location and vibe. AC is a unit on the window and a bit loud. Great historical building
- 4/5
The food and drinks from the restaurant were excellent
- 2/5
AC Temp was 79 when we entered and only cooled down to 76. The room never got cool enough and the operation was so loud that I could not sleep. Terrible experience.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff kept everything very well stocked, check in was a breeze, and the restaurant on site has amazing food.
- 4/5
Can be noisy for some if your room is facing Melrose
- 4/5
A phone, coffee machine and microwave in rooms is kind of status quo in hotels.
- 5/5
This is one of the very few hotels I’ve stayed at that actually had a comfy mattress. I had no problems sleeping in this one. This was important to me since we were going to so many theme parks and walking extensively every day. The staff are all so friendly—especially Miguel in the lot! Rooms are fairly large with lots of windows and an AC. There’s a closet with space for a small suitcase and a safe. Housekeeping came everyday, made the bed and replenished toiletries. The location is amazing. LA is very spread out and this was right in the middle of everything. Disneyland is one hour south, Universal is 20 minutes North, Six Flags one hour north, Santa Monica Pier 30-40 minutes West and of course Hollywood and Sunset are super close. There’s lot of restaurants and cafes nearby (10 minute drive). While this location was extremely convenient, a car is a MUST in LA. When we come back to LA for a more relaxing beach trip, this will absolutely be the hotel we book at.
- 1/5
Not nice
- 3/5
a great place to stay but in room coffee options and a microwave would’ve made it a 5
- 5/5
Convenient location to access many LA neighborhoods. Very helpful staff. Excellent rates. Convenient parking lot for about $18/day. Room was basic but comfortable. Nice view of the Hollywood sign and hills. Good cafe and restaurant in the hotel.
- 5/5
Very cute Hotel. Easy parking restaurant bar Café Staff is excellent.
- 4/5
Older but nicely kept up. Appreciated the clean room and friendly staff. Location was convenient for our stay.
- 5/5
Clean room. Wonderful staff. Easy parking.
- 5/5
Nice clean quiet room Nice clean quiet room
- 5/5
Great location and history
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing experience
- 5/5
The reception staff were courteous and informative. When I arrived it was too early to check in but I was able to leave my car onsite while I went out to lunch. The rooms were clean and comfortable though the sheets could use a refresh. The Edmon lobby bar/restaurant had a great happy hour and tasty appetizers. This hotel has a quaint atmosphere and is centrally located.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel, great employees, clean hotel.
- 5/5
Lovely vintage charm and very well-kept for a historic hotel. Check-in was easy, and not needing a credit card hold for incidentals was a nice surprise. Being attached to the beautiful Edmon Bar made the stay even more enjoyable.
- 3/5
It’s fine. To be honest it’s a room and not much more, but it is centrally located. The bathroom is small. The sink without a vanity top is a downside. The bed was comfy. The room wasn’t the best maintained, but it was fine enough. The staff were friendly but they don’t have anything to offer except the key card. I almost left but stayed for the lower price and the central location.
- 5/5
Everything about this hotel was awesome
- 4/5
Front desk staff (late night) were amazing. So welcoming and cheerful.
- 4/5
Very clean room. Good service and friendly staff
- 5/5
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
- 3/5
The rooms should have coffee makers. Most hotels offer them. There is also no microwave in the room. Just a shared use one outside. Staff was nice, location is great
- 4/5
You need to know that the word “Historic” in the name is real. It is 100 years old but in very good shape. The elevator is two person, but worked every time, and we never had to wait. The rooms and bathroom are small but efficient. There are limited electrical outlets, but we made it work. The price is reasonable and you are 4 blocks from Paramount Studios, and right on the road that will take you to the Walk of Fame, museums and much more.
- 4/5
Staff was very nice, clean room, beautiful building.
- 3/5
Staff was not courteous, very rude. Worst encounter ive ever had with front desk
- 5/5
Amazing location and comfy room. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Parking cheap and ready access
- 5/5
Great place to stay, very unique hotel. All the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful. Definitely recommend this place
- 5/5
Very nice.
- 3/5
Apart from my toilet being blocked and not flushing on the first night, and the receptionist questioning why I’m upset about it, the rest of the stay was ok, basic hotel and room, cleaners did a good job keeping it clean and tidy. Understandable cheap for what you get.
- 5/5
The Eaton was fabulous for dinner and drinks
- 4/5
Room was fine, bed was a little too hard but other than that I had a good stay👍
- 5/5
We have stayed serval times for appointment at Cedars Room had everything we needed ( except microwave- one available downstairs) The Eaton(attached to hotel) was a great place to have dinner and drinks. Great relaxed vibe looks like a speakeasy art deco
- 5/5
Muy buen ubicación, la habitación muy cómoda
- 5/5
Absolutely.Fantastic hotel , a beautiful restaurant attached to it
- 4/5
Room was very clean and location was perfect for visiting my daughter who lives near Hollywood. We took a long walk to the Larchmont neighborhood nearby and had bruch - so fun! Really nice man at the front desk came and helped me get the TV to work. Would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
The history is very interesting. The backside patio was large and appointed nicely. The only issue we had was that one of the windows in the room wouldn't crank completely shut, which made it very difficult to sleep due to the street noise.
- 4/5
The place is nice enough. Rooms are small. Bathroom is tiny. Water pressure okay but not great. The bar in the hotel is fabulous, but don't let them give you a room above it. It is VERY loud until 1 AM. Parking costs $18 extra.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Clean, well kept rooms.
- 4/5
Always like staying there
- 5/5
Room was very sufficient. Location was very good
- 5/5
Clean, good location, nice spot to stay.
- 5/5
Room was well maintained, spotless. Safe parking, wifi, restaurants. Linens were very nice. Quiet and comfortable. Everything a hotel should be! Helpful staff, too
- 5/5
Friendly staff important. unique old hotel
- 5/5
Spotless room, simple but old school Hollywood feel
- 5/5
Quick check-in, but you must wait until the 3pm. Near the Pantages theatre which was the reason for our visit.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Had a great stay here. Location (south side of Hollywood) was excellent to the places we wanted to go. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet and nicely sized. Onsite parking was most convenient and at a great price (per 24 hrs). Hotel staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. My only critique is that the bathroom was rather tight and could have stood to be larger, but overall this classic and historic hotel is a terrific find and an outstanding value for the price (and the Edmon restaurant is excellent). Would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
No breakfast but our stay was good. I like the old
- 2/5
Staff - the lady that works during the week was AMAZING! Very welcoming and accommodating. The other staff, not so much. The room was okay - the bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom had plumbing issues. The hallways were EXTREMELY noisy - makes it difficult to try to relax during the day and the evening. The food and staff at the Edmon, the restaurant downstairs of the hotel was great! Had to leave 2 days early due to emergency and was charged for the 2 nights that I did not stay there. Overall, most likely will not recommend or when I come back to LA, I'll stay somewhere else.
- 5/5
The room was as expected, and we had a view of the Hollywood sign!
- 5/5
This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, the location excellent, and the staff very attentive and polite.
- 3/5
Staff was nice and the onsite restaurant, as well as the nearby Italian restaurant were very good. There is also a great little coffee shop next door with good coffee and breakfast options. The room was adequate, the bathroom was tiny and no counter space at all. Basic needs were fulfilled.
- 5/5
Great location, room maintenance was perfect, and the desk staff was always courteous and helpful. To be honest, i spent most of my time in Los Angeles away from my room, but it made for a reliable, convenient home base when I needed it.
- 5/5
Area not so great, but rooms ok. Bathroom is small.
- 5/5
We look forward to staying again when we visit Los Angeles in the future—the Clare family.
- 4/5
Front desk people were really helpful; Rooms, albeit small and a bit dated, were very comfortable and good for the price. My only request would have been the availability of water heaters either in the room or from room service upon request.
- 4/5
Clean , good location
- 4/5
Good value hotel with easy street parking plus a paid parking lot. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. The neighborhood felt safe to us. It’s a bit outdated but it was a good price.
- 5/5
Best place I’ve stayed at in LA. I had a lot of things to do in town, so this hotel was conveniently located super close to everything. The staff are all so sweet and hardworking, and if there ever was a problem, they’d help. Comfortable place too. Love the coffee/bakery shop downstairs and the bar. The old Hollywood vibes are perfect.
- 5/5
The bed was comfortable, we had a nice view of the patio area, the building itself is amazing. We loved the portraits around the hallways!
- 5/5
Great value. Great room (small bathroom). Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Great attached restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Will definitely stay again. Also $18 parking was a bonus.
- 4/5
Room was clean and cozy. Evenings were quiet and there were nearby restaurants.
- 5/5
Very clean room and bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff. Close to everything
- 5/5
I highly recommend this place. Everything you need.
- 5/5
Great little boutique style hotel! Staff are wonderful, the location is very convenient and so is onsite parking. Room was clean and we'll maintained. The art deco lobby and cocktail lounge/restaurant especially wonderful.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and nice staff
- 5/5
This is a return trip to HHH. I m always happy with the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. Its just an excellent experience. I’ll definitely be back next time i’m in LA,
- 4/5
Old school vibe
- 4/5
I was glad for the on-site parking. Staff was welcoming. The shower head in our room was really low, lowest I’ve been ever experienced. I’m 5’10” and had to get creative to wash my hair. Other than that, was a fine one night stay.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was very informative and friendly
- 2/5
The location is sketchy. The elevator tiny and sketchy. Bedroom has a odor and bathroom barely fits 1
- 5/5
Clean room, openable windows, good sturdy fixtures in bathroom with good shower. Pleasant staff and wonderful photos of old Hollywood everywhere.
- 5/5
Fantastic value for money located on Melrose Avenue. Parking was just $18/night which is exceptional for the location. Room was spacious and spotless. Bathroom was compact but clean and useable. On site bar was wonderful and the food delicious and a great atmosphere. Attached coffee shop was also perfect. Staff all friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
- 3/5
Hotel was decent. Staff was friendly. I expected to have a “ double king “ room. On arrival I was made aware they do not have “ double king beds” they only have queen doubles. And they were sold out so one of my kids slept in the floor
- 4/5
Great value for the price. Convenient parking and great onsite bar/restaurant.
- 4/5
The room was decent, no bugs, mostly clean. Lobby did smell a bit funky, but no big deal as the room smelled fine. It was also quiet with gated parking.
- 5/5
There is no breakfast
- 5/5
Very clean room! Smaller than expected but the vintage charm was there so we didn’t mind. Staff was so kind, they even left a space heater for us in case it got too cold.
- 4/5
Outlet wouldn’t hold in the plug, bath drain drains so can’t take a bath no coffee pots in room saying due to Covid but have stayed in other hotels around area and they have them. Bed was very comfortable
- 5/5
Hotel with lots of character. Friendly staff, good location, easy parking, comfortable bed. Location is a little noisy but ear plugs worked well.
- 4/5
Clean and quaint. Convenient to attractions and sights
- 3/5
Ok condition
- 5/5
Clean, good location, loved the lobby and restaurant. Nice staff. Easy parking.
- 3/5
Okay kind
- 4/5
Would stay here again.
- 2/5
Room is old but fine. Have been waiting
- 3/5
The bed mattress was saggy and uncomfortable. There are no coffee machines anywhere in the hotel! There is only one microwave that's basically in the backyard!
- 3/5
let's just say when i entered my room, the window was open and they had a window air unit. The lobby smelled like a mix between aftershave and an old casino's carpet cleaner. It made me nauseous. I was also hoping for an early check-in but they said it would cost $75. I asked for them to hold my bags and they could only hold one. I'm glad i only needed to stay for 1 night.
- 5/5
Love the staff - always friendly and accommodating! The rooms are nice too
- 3/5
Hotel was clean but absolutely no amenities at all. Parking extra
- 5/5
The stay was very clean and the staff were very nice! Parking was behind the building which had a gate, and was very safe. The shower was hard to work and it was either super hot or super cold, but the whole bathroom was super clean. Definitely would stay again since it was very close to a lot of stuff to do LA
- 5/5
Great Bar and clean hotel!
- 5/5
clean room!
- 1/5
They told me at the desk that they were fully booked. I didn’t get a room. I need a refund in full.
- 4/5
Breakfast was at the Coffee bar by the hotel. The hotel bar and restaurant was very good. It would have been nice to have a chair in addition to the desk chair to sit down. Also, the closet was not suitable for hanging a dress. There was a shelf in the middle.
- 5/5
Grate location, clean and spacious rooms and a great bar the Edmons
- 5/5
Everything was nice—sheets, towels. It is just an old hotel. But I liked the ambiance. Nice people at the front desk. Very easy to catch an Uber or Lyft.
- 3/5
There is an overwhelming smell of methane coming from the pipes in the rooms.
- 4/5
Location is excellent here, i was able to explore most of tourist spot from this hotel, Hollywood, Griffith Observatory, K town, DTLA and even to beaches. And as you might notice that, most of hotels they charge heck of parking fee overnight, but it’s affordable here only for $18 for a night. Facility? This is an old hotel so it s not quite great but it’s good with that range of price. So overall, i think this is a good choice of traveling in LA area. Oh, the guy at the parking lot is real friendly. He’s awesome.
- 5/5
Incredible!
- 4/5
Clean rooms nice good stay
- 5/5
Really a pleasure to find a vintage property that is in excellent condition and with helpful, pleasant staff. Already looking forward to my next stay.
- 4/5
This is my second time staying at the hotel for my business trip. The king size bed is super comfortable. The water temperature was inconsistent and the shower got really hot to the point were it almost burned me. The toilet made this annoying sound all night. Besides that everything else was okay
- 3/5
Staff was good, rooms were mediocre. It is a very old property w/almost no amenities e.g. AC was limited functionality, not central heat, etc. Hotels review said 9 out 10 which is very misleading. Neighborhood is not ideal either and I would categorize as Hollywood more than Larchmont. I would rate as 7 out of 10.
- 1/5
The room was extremely noisy. The hotel is at a busy intersection and the windows don't mask the street traffic.
- 5/5
What a nice place to stay. The bar Edmon had fantastic food and drinks. We will be back for sure
- 5/5
Clean, quite, staff friendly
- 5/5
I love this Hotel! Very clean, nice staff and just a beautiful 1920s hotel. Loved the decor and all the photos of old Hollywood stars. We loved the restaurant/bar as well, very classy.
- 5/5
Great customer service! My stay was nice and I liked the view of the Hollywood landmark from my window.
- 4/5
nice clean facility... great location... great price..
- 5/5
Spotless rooms, comfortable bed, rooms were very quiet, friendly staff!
- 3/5
The room was ok, a bit antiquated with no central ac or heating. The staff was good overall, except the hotel advertised free self parking and it costs $18 per night to park there.
- 5/5
Betty
- 5/5
The staff is great, polite and courteous. The room smells clean, housekeeping staff come daily, the bed is comfortable and I hardly hear outside sounds.
- 5/5
The hotel inspired us to appreciate nostalgia. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Simple but Great for the price
- 3/5
Property was cute, rooms were small, staff not very friendly.
- 5/5
Great hotel and location. We could see the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory from our room. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Parking was in a secure lot. Would stay again and recommend if visiting Los Angeles
- 5/5
We had a view of the Hollywood sign from our room. Hallways lined with large B&W posters of Movie Stars. Smallest elevator I've ever been in. The restaurant/bar is beautiful Art Deco from the 1920s. Food and drinks were excellent with nice happy hour dishes. The waiter was great.
- 5/5
Room was clean staff was nice and polite.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
We had a good experience. We met Micheal at the front end and he was such an interesting person to talk to. The rooms were small but just the right size and price for what we were looking for. We were there for just one night.
- 5/5
Proximity to family members living in Larchmont Village was excellent Very clean hotel. Great restaurant and bar. The nostalgia factor is huge;
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
Very nice staff. Very near in good resto and tourist spot in town. Im coming back for sure
- 4/5
Good size room, with aircon, heater and fridge. Lift is quaint.
- 5/5
Staff was great, hotel very cute and clean. Inside bar was quaint and breakfast spot on the corner was a bonus.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, a bit outdated carpet but wonderful art recalling Hollywood's golden age. Helpful staff that knows what they're doing.
- 4/5
The hotel itself could definitely use renovations the windows need to be repaired. The street side is noisy. Which the staff did warn me about.
- 5/5
Well maintained and clean. I love a vintage hotel.
- 3/5
Honestly it smelled and felt old, not historic. They should've restored not rennovated.
- 5/5
was breakfast included?
- 4/5
Nice SeaTac and location but to say it's 9 of 10 is not fair. It is a nice low budget hotel.
- 4/5
Very clean, helpful staff and comfy bed. My only slight negative would be the wifi not being good in the room. Apart from that it was great!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
I absolutely LOVED my stay here in LA. The location is top notch and so close to all the landmarks. Betty at the front desk was the absolute best. Extremely friendly and helpful with all my questions. The restaurant on property is great and the cafe on the corner is adorable and great as well. Loved the old time Hollywood charm of this hotel and will definitely be back.
- 5/5
10/10 all around! I booked this hotel for my wife’s 50th birthday (she loves old Hollywood and we were doing the paramount studio tour, so I figured this would be the perfect spot—it was!!!). From the moment we drove onto the property, we were impressed; the valet attendant was so friendly and helpful. Then we walked inside and the fragrance they have in the hotel mixed with the music was so elegant and welcoming. We were greeted with a beautiful smile from the manager, Betty. She really went above and beyond to elevate our experience. She gave us a beautiful corner room (top floor) where we could see the Hollywood sign AND the Griffith Observatory. The room was very clean and spacious. It was updated enough to feel refreshed but still kept the “old-timey”, step into the past feel. We will definitely be returning AND recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a Hollywood hotel)!
- 5/5
Clean room, amazing staff, and it was good location for me and the reason I was in town. I attended a concert and it was only a mile from the venue so very convenient and Lyft ride was only $13. Special Thank you to hotel staff Michael!
- 4/5
Clean room. Great staff.

- 5/5
We had a great time at the Hollywood Historic Hotel. Room was spotless, staff were great, and the location made exploring Hollywood much more manageable. We hope to come back again!
- 5/5
Conveniently located hotel.
- 5/5
The staff are always great. I love character of this hotel.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 2/5
Stayed here before and although
- 4/5
Staff were friendly & welcoming. Room was nice & clean. Historic building so older decor/furniture. But, quiet & clean. One downfall was having to pay for parking even though you were a guest.
- 4/5
The bar w
- 5/5
Beautiful. We love this place!
- 5/5
the room was clean, the bar was great!

- 5/5
Buena ubicación, muy cerca de todo, muy buena opción si quieres un lugar no muy caro solo para pasar la noche y aprovechar todo el día explorando California.
- 5/5
It’s nice. Bed was comfy and firm, Had a decent size fridge and free bottled water. And fairly good layout for the rooms. I do wish they had better access for the power plug ins. If you have afew tech toys. I liked the restaurant bar attached to hotel. I would stay again. Tiny elevator & luggage is one or two bags storage
- 5/5
Old building, clean and quiet
- 1/5
The rooms smelled terrible and were very dirty. The entire hotel smelled like sewage. I booked this hotel only because it had a high rating, but it turned out to be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I once stayed at a $30 hotel in Arizona that was three times better than this one.
- 4/5
Parking is around back & $18 a day. The hotel parking is shared with the restaurant parking so it can be a little tricky to find a spot late at night but we managed to snag one. The rooms are small but extremely clean. You can see the Hollywood sign from the window of the rooms Very small, old school 3 person elevator and nice old Hollywood charm. The area is very busy and loud (no fault of the hotel) just something to note. Car horns, loud crowds on the street all night ( I stayed on Halloween night though) I really enjoyed my stay here. The beds are super comfortable and the bar/ restaurant seemed so fun! Will definitely check it out next time I stay. Highly recommend for simple, no frills place to stay. *Something of note is there are no microwaves in the room, just a mini fridge*
- 5/5
The room had old Hollywood charm, was very clean, and the A/C unit in the window was actually ideal for keeping the room cool and blocking out traffic noise outside. Being right down the street from Paramount Studios, it was fun to walk down there and take some photos. Close drive to Universal Studios, which is why were staying there. Lobby is beautifully detailed and elegant, hearkening back to classic Hollywood. The little bakery/cafe right next door was perfect to grab a simple breakfast before heading to Universal Studios. Each floor is decorated with historic pictures of classic Hollywood actors/actresses and different areas of LA at various times in the past. The only advice I would share is for the bathroom in the room; being a historic building, there was no fan in there so we went and bought some Febreeze spray to have on hand for when the restroom was in use for a lengthy period of time, if you catch my drift. There is only a shower, as well, so no bathtub for those who like to soak. Overall, I would definitely stay here again! The staff was very professional and accommodating. We didn't try the restaurant downstairs, as we had other plans, but it always seemed busy. I really like this hotel! Parking is $18 a night, and they make sure there are spaces reserved for hotel guests in the gated lot even when the bakery and restaurant are busy.
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice and was conveniently located for our needs. It’s close to Griffith, walk of fame and the Hollywood sign (which we could see from our room window, 224) The restaurant was nice and stayed open late. Parking was also nice. It was a really enjoyable stay.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious, very cool old-school vibes, lovely staff. Bus stop out the front door. Awesome bar and coffee shop in the building. Great place to anchor myself for a week in LA.
- 4/5
The staff was very kind and help to accommodate my needs. The hotel is minimally furnished but comfortable and convenient. The building is very historic, and I enjoyed looking at all the old Hollywood photos on the wall. The best part of it is their overnight parking - can't beat it! I will stay again!
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Great coffee shop, and Restaurant next door.
- 5/5
Great stay. Nice clean room. Great location and price. I just wished they had a coffee machine in the room although the Corner Coffee shop next door was a sweet treat.
- 4/5
clean, staff is very nice, quite old room though – could definitely use a refresh.
- 5/5
The check in was a very smooth and easy process. The room was quite clean, and I absolutely love the aesthetics.
- 5/5
We loved everything about our stay here. The front desk staff, particularly Betti, were incredibly helpful, generous and kind. Betti helped us extend our stay a night and really made our trip that much better. We’ll definitely be coming back to the Hollywood Historic next time we’re in Los Angeles.
- 2/5
For starters the bathroom was not fully cleaned as there was trash behind the toilet and when i tried to shower HOT /cold was fluctuating and was not plesant.
- 5/5
I left my jacket and asked about lost&found. The staff was really kind and got fast answer which I really liked!
- 5/5
Loved my room and enjoyed my stay. Thank you
- 5/5
Quick and easy check in.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The room was great. Clean, and comfy. We had a good stay.
- 5/5
clean room very helpful staff and a beautiful place to stay!
- 5/5
Extreme value for money! The hotel is very well located. The staff is super friendly. The room with a spotless carpet and a comfortable bed. The ac is a little bit noisy and the windows overlook the street but those are the only drawbacks I found.
- 4/5
First time trying this type of older hotel. Charming, some food options nearby, close drive to Hollywood etc. Our room smelled perfumed and our daughter's room ...well someone was puffing in a nearby room, we should have asked to move her. The bar was closed the day we were there.
- 5/5
The room was nice, clean a little small but had a great time.
- 5/5
The room was shabby but clean and our bed was incredibly comfortable. It was also an easy ride to everywhere but the airport. The coffee shop next door was reasonable and lovely. The attached bar was full of locals who were friendly and engaging and the bartender made a perfect old fashion. I cant think of a better deal for what we paid.
- 5/5
Check in was quick and easy. Staff friendly and helpful. The room I booked was spacious and clean.
- 3/5
The hotel needs to catch up, it has no tea/coffee facilities in the room, there was no room service and also no phone in the room which means having to go down to reception to ask questions. Overall it is a nice hotel with a nice abeyance, the room was clean and tidy with a large bed that was comfortable and I found the staff were friendly
- 5/5
Bed was comfterable and friendly staff specific the one that made our checking in.
- 5/5
And this stay was just as good as my first in 2023. The staff are very helpful and polite I had an issue with my room card during my stay and they sorted it straight away. I had a deluxe room with a king size bed which was very comfortable. The room comes complete with a fridge which is very useful for cold drinks or food. The room was very clean and was cleaned every single day of my 7 day stay. Two bottles of complimentary water were provided every day also a nice touch. The hotel is well situated for the tourist sites like Hollywood Boulevard which is a short drive away. Paramount Studios is a short walking distance away and others like Universal Studios are about 20 to 30 minutes away depending on the LA traffic. I had no issues getting about using Uber and others. The Hotel it's self is full of period charm having been built in the golden age of Hollywood and it adds to the experience but don't expect all the things you get in a modern hotel. The clue is in the name Hollywood Historic Hotel you do get good air conditioning in the room and the Wi-fi worked fine for me. If I do travel to Hollywood again in the future I will stay at the hotel a third time no doubt about it.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel comfortable bed about a mile from Hollywood Blvd great location front desk lady is a sweetheart 10 out of 10
- 5/5
Good location, clean room
- 5/5
Lovely cool hotel with a vintage feel. Friendly helpful staff. Convenient location and nice bar.
- 4/5
The parking was on sitr but very tight. Its tough to maneuver and you need the attendant to guild you into the spots which are shared by the restaurant. The bar/restaurant was great and the staff were wonderful. Rooms were small and not the most accessible for outlets.
- 5/5
No Breakfast
- 5/5
Great affordable hotel at the Hollywood area.
- 5/5
The workers where very nice and the coffee store was beautiful and good option to get breakfast from there.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent
- 4/5
There wasn’t a breakfast option at the hotel.
- 4/5
It was a very comfortable stay and The Edmon was excellent!
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly. Everyone we talked to was super nice and accommodating. The late check in was nice and everything was not bad for the price. Got a good nights rest.
- 4/5
The wifi was sporadic and not reliable but the place is well kept and rooms comfortable in a safe area. Nice local Mexican restaurant on the same side of the street at which we ate twice in two days for convenience. Otherwise a 15 minute walk to more activity and businesses. Paramount studio is about a 10-12 minute walk down the same street. Local bus stop on both sides of the street within 2 minute walk. You would need transportation to the Hollywood boulevard as it is about 30+ minute walk. We would stay again.
- 5/5
We didn’t eat at restaurant due to my daughter was 20 and it be required 21+ . Something that needs changed for convenience of guests . Other than that we loved it and will return
- 1/5
Old amenities , very small
- 5/5
Great place for a couple. The location was close to all major attractions in the area, the parking lot was safe and easily accessible, and the on site restaurant was delicious with a really well priced happy hour! The Sweet Corner coffee shop on the same block was also convenient, with great prices and selection. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the area!
- 5/5
Nice historic hotel close to Hollywood attractions
- 5/5
The hotel does have a bar area that serves food and drink with an outside area. The rooms were a good size with fridge and storage space. Very clean with fresh linen and towels.
- 5/5
This property is great for the price! If you like historic buildings this place is great! Close to all the Hollywood/LA attractions. There is a great restaurant attached to the hotel and a cute bakery right next door for coffee and breakfast. The staff was absolutely wonderful!!! We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Room was clean and cozy. Front desk lady was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Very nice, always like staying there
- 4/5
I chose this place because I thought it would be an easy drive to Universal studios, and it had cheap-ish parking compared to other hotels. Overall, it was fine. The restaurant and bar were excellent, but overall my feelings are neutral. I would stay here again if I had to.
- 5/5
Staff was kind and efficient. Love the decor of the inside. Surprisingly larger than it looks from the outside. Very reasonable priced.
- 3/5
No basic coffee available. Had to leave hotel each morning just to get coffee.
- 5/5
This hotel was very nice. It has the charm of an old style hotel, but it is very clean and comfortable. The room was very roomy and welcoming. I would really recommend this hotel
- 5/5
It was an impact to see a black carpet in the room and old-style decoration but it is part of being a Historical Hotel
- 5/5
Our stay was perfect. Great staff and lots of things to do in the area..Will be going back for another adventure.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Reasonable parking price for the area.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and great food/drinks at the bar
- 5/5
Staff were very helpful and we really loved the bar on the property. Food was excellent.
- 5/5
nice staff and the place has personality
- 5/5
Excellent check- in.
- 2/5
A specific bad smell, the air conditioning is too weak, the bathroom is small, there are no cups for drinks and no coffee on the property, but it is clean and quiet - this is a big advantage of this place, but the prices are too high for these conditions. We were a bit disappointed. Good coffee and croissants are on the corner of the street near the hotel. There is only one gas station and a liquor store near the hotel. We didn't see any people walking around, but when we checked, the area is safe.
- 5/5
Great hotel! I love staying here
- 4/5
The Service and facilities are Ok.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff & amazing coffee & cake shop right next door
- 5/5
Good comfortable affordable close to attractions
- 5/5
Love the history of hotel and photos, great bar/restaurant and bakery at corner. Friendly staff. Clean rooms!!
- 5/5
Great hotel. Highly recommend it. I've stayed here several times and have a great restaurant inside the hotel which makes it very convenient.
- 4/5
Cool, older hotel. Building is gorgeous. Valet and the dude at the front desk were super nice. I suggest ceiling fans or something. The air was very still in the hotel, especially in the room. Made it feel kind of musty.
- 1/5
Hotel was extremely old dirty, and the entire room smelled like bleach
- 4/5
Bar and dining great, service great
- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised with my stay.
- 3/5
No kettle or anything in the room to make a drink etc, bit dated and quite expensive for what it was.
- 5/5
elegant old school charm; excellent cocktail lounge with popular happy hour.
- 5/5
Awesome stay! A beautiful classic hotel. The rooms were small yet comfortable and quiet. I plan to stay here every time the am in town.
- 5/5
Room was very clean / bed was big, Air Con was good. I wish the shower pressure was slightly better and did fluctuate between hot and very hot without touching the taps. But overall a good stay with helpful staff.
- 5/5
Classic
- 5/5
Everything exceeded my expectations.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the stay. LOVED the Edmon bar and restaurant. It was just a really great place and the bar staff were outstanding. Most of the staff at the hotel were ok as well except the front desk person when we checked-in and he wasn't so bad just not friendly. Overall I recommend.

Cute, clean hotel with friendly staff. The location is a short walk down the street from Paramount studios. Bonus-the Corner Cafe that is located next door is the perfect spot to sit for your morning coffee and pastry!

The hotel isn’t necessarily reflective of the immediate neighborhood. The room was spacious, but had a window unit air conditioner. The entire third floor was very warm 24/7, but it was also the end of August and a hot in general. When I got into the room, the air conditioner was off and the window was open. It took a while for the room to cool down, but once it did I just kept the air running until we checked out. The bed was comfortable, and they were different pillow options for firm or soft. The bathroom, however, was pretty small. Shower itself was clean and large enough, but the sink area was tiny with no counter space, though there were a couple of small shelves mounted above the sink. The bathroom had no ventilation either, so it got steamy and stayed hot for a while after each person showered. Other reviews noted road noise, but I didn’t notice anything, but that could be because I was on the third floor. Parking was no problem in the lot attached to the hotel, and arriving late at night there was an attendant on duty making sure that everybody who parked had a pass. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay, and it was relatively inexpensive, so I would probably stay again. The attached restaurant/bar in the lobby was also nice, but did seem to get really crowded and loud each night. It seems like a lot of locals were hanging out there.

Parking and front desk staff were nice and assisted me with all I needed. The room I stayed in was pretty nice and clean. I'd come again.
- 4/5
it was nice but there was an odd smell the entire time we were there and parking was a bit difficult. Staff was really kind and helpful!

This is a hidden gem in Hollywood. Close to Paramount Studios and lots of restaurants. The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant as well. The staff was very kind and there any time needed. Plan to stay here again in the future.

Clean, comfy and historic

Such a great stay! The hotel was clean, had a fantastic dinner place attached and a very convenient breakfast place next door with good coffee. Overall had a fantastic stay!

Some staff on front desk need to improve customer service. Everything else ia great.

Clean and comfortable stay in an old classic hotel.

Sicuramente sarà economico ma a questo punto meglio spendere qualcosa in più. Questa è stata la quarta volta a Los Angeles e siamo sicuri che in questa struttura non torneremo per una quinta volta in città. Great place to stay

i loved staying here, the front desk staff were so lovely and available 24/7 for any questions i had about getting around or recommendations for things to do for my first time in Los Angeles. it's super central so it was a breeze to get anywhere either on transit, Ubers or even just wandering. the rooms were clean and the perfect size, A/C was wonderful and the little fridge in the room for all my goodies was SO convenient. would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends visiting LA! 💛💛

It is a historic hotel, beautiful and rooms are comfortable. Plugs for electronics are not plentiful or easily accessible, that is just a minor inconvenience. Staff friendly and helpful. Sweet shop for coffee and a breakfast sandwich was perfect the onsite restaurant and bar was excellent. Parking staff made sure there were spots available. Restaurant seems to be a favorite with the locals

Had a good stay. The Sweet Corner and The Edmon were a nice compliment. Would stay there again.

Clean.

The staff was wonderful. Loved their Beautiful bar and bar food. I LOVE old building's. It is LA, so kinda sketchy. But not too bad around the hotel 😉

Nice, historic property on Melrose Avenue. Close to a lot of things. The room was fine: clean with a firm, large bed. Bathroom was a bit tiny, but clean. Hallways were clean. Bakery on northwest corner of the building had very good sweets and coffee. Did not have time to try the restaurant, but the menu looked very good and lots of patrons.

Location. Good
- 4/5
Well maintained property- staff is excellent and super helpful. Parking is very convenient for $18 per day.
- 5/5
Good location off the beaten path for a night to stay. Didn’t plan on doing anything in that immediate area so was looking for clean affordable and safe and this checked all the boxes. I would stay here again without hesitation.

A quaint boutique hotel. Friendly staff and great service. Loved the outdoor seating area for breakfast. Our room faced the back, overlooking the outdoor seating which was also part of the restaurant/bar which played outdoor music til late. It was ok for the weekend, but not so great when we had to get up early for our flight on Tuesday. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Beautiful classic hotel. Nice restaurant, great staff, good location.

Great hotel and wonderful location. It was quiet and the bed was comfy. The only issue was that the internet did not work in our room.

great

Cute historic building, small but cozy room. Surprisingly quiet, especially for the location. The mattress was a little sagging and lumpy, but not terribly uncomfortable. Excellent water pressure in the shower. The parking lot is small and tight spaces. Would definitely stay here again.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL!!! The front desk clerks, Johann and Robert are excellent and kind. Robert took his time to go to the corner sweet shop to break a bill so I could tip the housekeeping staff. Speaking of housekeeping, there is not one speck of dirt or dust in these rooms, not even on the top of the headboard which is a spot often overlooked and a pet peeve of mine. This is my go to hotel for any visit to LA. I highly recommend it.

Very beautiful property! Pool and amenities are wonderful.

Good place to stay but would be nice if they have something to serve for breakfast.

Central location! Centrally located to most attractions. Parking not outrageous by LA standards. Staff wonderful, rooms clean. Area around hotel is a bit run down, but is fine. Great base camp. We had issues with the WiFi the whole time which actually cost me. I know the hotel is historic but it could use renovating. Our bathroom was tiny. Would recommend for anyone who just wants a good clean place in a central location.

The exterior of the hotel is well presented, and certainly has a chic traditional feeling to it. Parking was limited, but we managed to get a space on both occasions that we entered and exited the parking lot, with the help of a valet attendant. Tricky on the second night due to a large function at the property, but they managed to squeeze us in. Parking was reasonably priced given the location, at $16 per night. The hotel lobby was well presented, although the receptionist weren't the most friendly or inviting. I can live with that, as I don't spend much time in the lobby, and they weren't directly rude as such. Our room however, was a let down. The room was a long room, on the road side. Fairly noisy, but we still managed to sleep after our flight. It was dated, but we half expected that. It was clean enough, although the carpets could do with a good scrub. Bed and bedding were fine, again, nothing to shout home about. The room felt rather dim in terms of lighting. One thing I couldn't stand was the smell of cannabis. The room stunk of it! Even around the lobby smelled of cannabis, but our room was particulary bad for the two nights we stayed there. The bathroom also smelled of a combination of cannabis and chemicals or sorts. Even the Aircon couldn't help with the smell. Overall I wouldn't rush to stay here again.

Beautiful Historical Hotel. Loved the elevators. The restaurant was outstanding and the historic decor in the restaurant and Hotel was SUPERIOR. Will definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant to family and friends. Never received a Welcone basket/gift.
- 4/5
Quaint little room with a bathroom. Felt like I was staying at my parents though. Not bad for the price.
- 5/5
It exceeded my expectations. They were very efficient and it was convenient with parking and all. I arrived in the evening and there was a lot of energy around the hotel restaurant and bar area. It looked fun.

Very cool hotel. Front desk is very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
restaurant was good - I liked the vibe
- 5/5
Has a really small elevator but it was a good place to stay.
- 4/5
The surrounding area is just - meh. Nothing to see really. Not unsafe, just, meh. But, for us was convenient, the right price (especially since all we really did there was sleep) and clean.
- 5/5
It is LA so the surrounding area is sketchy.
- 5/5
Great value, love the historical look, clean space.
- 5/5
The rooms are inline or larger than modern hotels. Very interesting property with its long LA history. The manager was very friendly and all the staff we encountered were the same. Very comfortable. And excellent value to be in Hollywood. Will stay there again and will have to try the bar & grill.
- 5/5
This was in fact a little hidden gem. The hotel itself had a vintage type vibe ... Which I liked. The room was beautifully basic. Nice shower nice bed fridge , ... And a GIANT closet.
- 4/5
I like that it was historic. The bar and outside patio were nice. The parking is a little difficult.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, comfortable, and close to everything!!

Front desk manager was very nice and accommodating for us- she got us in early, saved us the parking fees and allowed us a late check out……def better than a bigger chain hotel
- 5/5
Older property but well maintained. Room with King bed was spacious and clean. Window AC unit was fine. Small elevator but only 3 floors so no issues with that. Excellent attached restaurant with every day happy hour 4-7. Easy walk to Paramount Studios. Rear parking lot is a bit tight but no problems. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to say

This was truly a hidden gem. I needed a quick staycation for the weekend before I moved into my new place and found this. It was so inexpensive. I was worried, but after looking at the reviews and the pictures and the price point of the restaurant and café, there was no way that it could be that bad……. And it wasn’t the property was beautifully remodeled staff was so kind and accommodating. Everyone I talked to was friendly and well-versed in service. From the front desk to Housekeeping to the restaurant, every person I have a person encountered was incredibly accommodating. I would definitely do a staycation again. Additionally will be enjoying that restaurant again. It was unbelievably fantastic. Not one thing that I ordered, would I not rave about. Extremely grateful for this weekend and the amazing service.

Cozy cute room! Perfect for solo travelers or a couple escape. Friendly staff and the bed and room was clean!

Hotel has so much potential with its Hollywood theme but it was horrific. Had to check out early. Room smelled bad. Stains on carpet and curtains. No coffee making facilities. Only one bedside table. No convenient plug or USBC sockets. Tiny bathroom. Everything dated.
- 5/5
It was a treat to stay here for two nights. Great staff! The restaurant and bar is a work of art! Recommended!

Love the cafe next door and like the view from the window of the Hollywood sign

Such a cool hotel. Very old Hollywood with a fabulous bar with amazing food. Comfortable bed and very clean. Would like either coffee in the room or in the lobby.
