The property was nice, the pool was great. Breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. I would stay here again. The only drawback was the traffic going down the street. Some of it could be heard from the room. I know this is not the fault of the property, but it was a bit annoying at times.

The location is close to the pier for a convenient budget option, the rooms themselves were updated enough to not feel like a cheap motel. There was an issue with water leaking, our sink flooded the entire bathroom and into the bedroom. We had to move rooms twice.

Its a basic room no view because its in between buildings. I found mold in 2 different places in bathroom. The TV 's audio was fixed, so you couldn't hear it unless you stood next to it. The mirror wardrobe sliding door's track was rusted out and looked horrible. If your just looking for a bed its expensive for what you get

The Best Western at Surf City was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast had many options. The staff was extremely helpful as well.

Staff was so friendly, and hospitality was great all around. The room was clean and spacious. No complaints about bed comfort. AC worked great. Breakfast was pretty good, lots of tables to eat including a cute outdoor patio. Staff was nice enough to bring my waffle to me when it was ready! I love how the landscape was kept up and the pool looked clean. It’s a short 6 min drive from the beach!

Nicely updated, very clean, no frills accommodations. Very comfortable. Easy (free) parking. Staff very helpful. Standard help-yourself simple breakfast in dedicated space off the lobby---extra nice to have outdoor seating for that. I was there for a week and at check-in I was given a 3rd floor room for more "quiet." Very thoughtful. And, yes, there is an elevator.

Great older property but newly renovated. Staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful. We were welcomed with water and snacks for the kids when we checked in. The breakfast had every thing we needed and the waffles were yummy! The rooms were spacious, clean, and very inviting. The shampoo, container, body soap, and lotion was the best I’ve ever had at hotel! I look forward to staying with them again soon!

Felt safe parking and leaving my vehicle. Food and Walgreens within walking distance. Staff very noisy, back and forth constantly early morning. If you’re a late sleeper ask for a higher floor. Breakfast was very convenient

Stayed 3 nights. Really clean and an amazing, friendly, helpful staff. Good location (great would be on the water).. With a 3 day rental bike from Fresch E-bikes, we were able to go everywhere.

One night stay for a wrestling tournament. Overall clean, close too restaurants, breakfast in a bag to go since their lobby area is being remodel. Staff was nice and attentive. I asked for double beds one bed was full and second was a queen. I thought that was interesting but it worked for 3 people.

I have a quiet room in the back of the hotel and it was perfect. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

The room was clean, large, and had two sitting chairs which came in handy. The floor is a tile throughout. The room has a microwave and refrigerator, which came in very handy. I would have preferred some carpet around the bed area, it helps to keep things quieter if one person is sleeping. Unfortunately, the lobby was under construction so the there really was NO included breakfast.

The elevator and room smelled musty and moldy, and there was condensation on the window on the inside. The water in the shower took forever to get hot and once it was hot it only stayed hot for about five minutes so we ended up having to go to relatives house to take showers. The sink in the bathroom had low water pressure. when we complained about it, they sent a maintenance person up who just said the water got hot, but dismissed us when we told him that it didn’t say hot and we weren’t able to take a shower. As for the low water pressure in the sink, he told us that there was one water tank for the entire hotel… Really? We decided not to stay the entire time and when we went to the front desk to tell them, we were checking out early and we wanted to refund for the last night. They told us they couldn’t do that because we had prepaid. They dismissed us and told us they couldn’t help us. I highly suggest that no one stays here.

We spilled water as soon as we walked into the room so I grabbed a towel to wipe it up and the floor was filthy. There was a clean spot on the floor where I wiped the water and the rest of the floor was brown. Needs regular mopping.

Breakfast was a disappointment. Although it was advertised as “included,” it turned out to be a very basic cold breakfast; just apple juice, water, a muffin, banana, and yogurt. I understand they were likely renovating the lobby or dining area, but the temporary setup could have been better. Overall, I gave them 4 stars because the room itself was nice, the location was good, and the staff seemed friendly; but there’s room for improvement, especially with the breakfast and bed freshness.

In the room. T bathtub/shower drain was clogged and the front desk guy gave me the toilet plunger and said I needed to unclog it myself instead of having someone on staff do it. The TV turned on but none of the channels worked. Neither person at the front desk staff seemed to care about any of this too much.

Lobby customer service is above & beyond

The property is under construction so the “lobby” is in a room. Our room wasn’t available for early check in even though I had called ahead twice, as told by the concierge, to ensure an early check in. Restroom access was also in a room that was filled with supplies and was not very clean. The room itself was decent but the towels were dirty.

We had a great stay! Everybody that worked there from the registration office to the cleaning crew were so nice and the hotel is managed well. We received a nice take out breakfast because of the construction, but that was fine for us. We will definitely be back!

Currently remodeling office area. Only thing that was really annoying was the motion detection lights in hall and bathroom. Whenever you got up at night, the lights turned on disturbing everyone else trying to sleep.

The stay was excellent and the staff allowed me to check in early. The only problem was the noise and constant thumping from kids in the above room.

I booked two rooms for a family vacation, the second room for my son and daughter in law had roaches. It took over 24 hours to talk to the GM and no one on property was empowered to make a decisions, working in the hotel industry this is unacceptable. My room did not have roaches, they did move my son and comped 2 nights for the inconvenience however now they were on the 3rd floor and we were on the first. We like to be next to each other so we can play cards after the kids go to sleep being 2 floors apart we were unable to do that, so it took away part of our fun as a family. In addition I didnt get my "goodnight hugs" from the grands due to 2 floors apart. Other than that it was good but feel compensation should have been offered for my room as we missed major memories for our vacation.

The room was recently remodeled and clean. The bathroom needs some attention but everything worked as needed.

At check in the receptionist looked at me and with a thick Oriental accent said: "Are you checking in or what?" No CS training. I chose this hotel because of breakfast and it was a brown bag.The room lacks electrical plugs. The existing ones are not working. I believe the culture of the immigrants who work there don't know courtesy to let guests pass and say excuse me on hallways and elevator doors.

Even though they are renovating their lobby it was quiet and not disruptive for our stay. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Liked that there were tables, chairs, and umbrellas on the patio by the pool, and there were lifts for both the pool and hot tub. Great property!

The fire alarm went off at 2AM and no one knew how to turn it off. Then it went off again at 8am. Staff was not friendly when checking in and the beds were 2 twin pushed together and I kept falling in the whole! I am not ever going to stay there again! Horrible experience.

They were having construction so that was a bit of an issue. They had some issues the alarms went off in the early morning from wiring issues in the elevator, making is a sleepless night. They do not have emergency lights in the rooms for the alarms.

Not a bad place, but coffee maker was broken and hand wash container broke in the bathroom. Bed was clean, but doors in the bathroom could use a cleaning.

Even though it was under construction during our stay - the grounds were clean and safe and the staff was working hard everyday to help all their guests stay satisfied.

Really nice room, loved that there was no carpet because of all the sand from the beach. Pool was nice and open late. They’re undergoing construction so no breakfast besides a grab and go, and their lobby is under construction. Very nice location from the beach. The only problem was we used our credit card only at this hotel the whole time we were on a trip, and got a fraud notification shortly after checking into the hotel that someone tried to charge $99.99 dollars to a gaming site, when we called the hotel to let them know, the manager was very defensive and didn’t want to know, and said we were accusing her staff of using the credit card numbers, when we were just trying to make her aware that this was the only place we used the card so it had to be through their system. We thought the manager would find this information useful and could look more into it, but she was extremely unhelpful and unsympathetic. Really disappointing because the hotel was a great stay. Loved the shampoo and conditioner and even purchased it on amazon after using here. Just be wary of credit card fraud at this property. :(

You can definitely see this motel is trying to update the quality of service, room and exterior conditions. It's under the remodeling, so the noise from the construction is too loud in the early morning. They shouldn't start working before 8am.

Modern rooms and very clean. Disappointed that the lobby was unavailable due to construction during our stay. The staff did their best by providing a ‘to go’ breakfast each day from a small office, and there was coffee available.

The Management is very kind and accommodating. The property is very clean, as is the pool/spa area. For the most part it was quiet all night.

The lobby is under construction, however i didnt hear any construction noise during my stay. So you dont need to worry about noise issues. They have a temporary lobby in one of the rooms next to the lobby. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stay here pretty consistently, as my sons play baseball at the HB Sports complex. Like 11 minutes away. Always nice to be close. Each time, rooms are clean, beds are comfy. Only thing wish they had, more outlets to plug in phones or iPads. They only have like two in the room, and others are used by their lights, fridge and TV. We will be back, over and over again. It’s close to the beach too, Mama’s on 39th is the place for breakfast.

The front desk could not have been nicer. Room is beautiful and comfortable. I wish that the fan/light combo was separate in the bathroom.
