Great location and helpful staff.

It was decent, especially for the location & the price but from the beginning, no one was even in the office to check us in. I had to call the emergency line to locate someone & then the person who finally came to the window looked like they just rolled out of bed & werent very friendly. The room is outdated & could’ve been a lot cleaner. They don’t even provide hand soap. The air conditioning unit kinda sucked so the room got warm often & given the fact that it’s right on the highway, it’s very loud at night so keep that in mind if you’re a light sleeper or have small kids. Wouldn’t recommend.

The room was relatively clean. There were some large stains on the carpet. Everything seemed a little dusty. You can hear all the cars and motorcycles, driving down PCH.So, it makes it a little hard to sleep at night.

Very dated property, no amenities, not even a vending machine to purchase water. Rooms are in desperate need of updating, blankets worn and dirty looking. The location and view is great.

The view of the beach was great from the deck and parking was provided under the hotel free of charge. Very close to coffee in the morning and many food options.

The beach view is unobstructed from the shared deck, which is very accommodating with tables and chairs. The parking was easy and safe and everything is walking distance..it’s perfect for that.

Positives: great water pressure, great location, clean sheets. Negatives: the bathroom door was off its top hinges so had to be slammed both open and closed, which was so loud. It was also a bit grimy, something I’m not used to in other 2-star stays (lamps caked in dust, doors were dirty, lots of rust everywhere, floors felt dirty. They left the e end of a toilet paper roll with no refills, but no staff onsite other than the daytime. In the end, we felt like we overpaid compared to other hotels nearby. Disappointed is an understatement.

Room was cute and worked for our night stay. Beautiful view of the beach from the deck. Patio furniture could use a good cleaning. Did not have a top sheet on either bed, which was strange. And the parking is very tight. It’s in a very walkable location.

Our family was so happy with our stay at Huntington Surf Inn. I called going for an early check-in and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and air conditioning worked well. This small hotel is right across the street from the beach, maybe a five minute walk to the water and less than 10 minutes to walk to the pier, shops, and restaurants. We are already planning a summer trip and plan to stay at this hotel again.

LOCATION Could use an update and deep clean. Accommodating with late check out and good enough for a beach stay !

It's an old-school motel with lots of character and charm. Its big advantage is the proximity to the beach. It's literally across the street -- and also walking distance to the downtown district of shops and restaurants.

You can see the ocean from the balcony and what made this place great was the young man running it the room was just fine but his enthusiasm about the area in her recommendations made the stay excellent

Room was very clean, spacious, well stocked! The onsite manager gets 5 stars for all he did to make sure our stay was perfect! I highly recommend staying here! The beach, stores, restaurants, and bars are all easily walkable with no worries about undesirables!

It’s essentially a basic hotel, but in an incredible location. We loved sitting on the little deck across from the water and walking on the sand every day. It’s very chill, no frills, but the shower is hot and parking is free. Bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to freeway noise, and enjoy that beautiful beach and the walk to food and drinks and the pier.

Location was great, loved the view of ocean. Rooms were on 2nd floor and no Elevator. We were fine but would have been good to know.

I’ve stayed at Huntington Surf Inn several times. I love the location, free parking, large rooms, and direct access to the beach. Yes it’s an older place, BUT it’s perfect for me. The manager, Jonathan, is wonderful as well. He remembers my name and ensures my stay is perfect. I’ll be back soon!

I grew up on 14th Street so I know the area well. This place is awesome. Jonathan hooked me up. The best place to stay in Huntington. Hands down.

Very convenient location across the street from beach.

This is a motel but within walking distance to beach and shopping and food. Cute room and it was clean. The guy at front office was so friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and he had ice for us when we needed it. Free parking. There’s a spot for each room so that was a big plus. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze but my SUV fit just fine. I would definitely stay here again!

I chose this place because it had a great rating and my options were limited (last-minute trip decision). I am somewhat scratching my head how it was rated so highly. All this negative stuff said (typed), the room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, it’s in a great location, and the dude working there was nice. If the A/C unit is fixed and coffee is available, I’m bumping it up to a 4 of 5 star rating…assuming the nightly rate is commensurate with the accommodation.

I enjoyed our room. I feel good. Nonice.machine but theirnis a 24hr 7 eleven like 10 feet away. I love their cute and comfortable patio that they offer. Its very tranquil and just right for my energy. Will book and be back soon!

Perfect spot for family vacation! Easy beach access, food right down the street, quiet and clean and everyone was helpful and nice!

We enjoyed how close this motel is to the beach and downtown! The beds were a little uncomfortable but overall fine. We stayed in room 3 which is right across a wonderful little patio area to watch the beach life. Would definitely come back!

It’s at most, 10 minutes to walk to the pier and main shopping strip. Good vibe. Bring ear plugs. It’s not fancy, but it’s good if you’re just looking for a place to crash and location.

Check in process was easy and we arrived where there was actual parking. I think there are 6 spots total and the rest is street/alley parking. I love the location but the room did creep me out. It was very dirty but the bed was good. Lots of people partying around us, loud neighbors. I wouldn’t stay again but it wasn’t the worst place I stayed. For the money, I would find a better place.

i stayed in the “KISS” rockstar room. i loved the space of the room, large bathroom, the amount of towels available, lighting with charger outlets and the overall layout. the a/c unit took a while to crank up & shoot out a dust smell. i ended up checking out a day early due to the dust from the unit. the desk clerk took notes and i’m sure the a/c filter will be cleaned soon. unfortunately, someone smoked pot in their room, which traveled to my room. yuck. it was challenging to find the front office of the hotel. i had to call to figure out where to go. i suggest painted arrows or signage to fix issue. no worries not a big deal. the front office is a room that has a sliding glass window. it felt old school & modern at the same time. the location of the hotel is steps away from the beach & pier. i’d you need beach towels and chairs, the hotel has them for you. please stay here it’s a gem and you’ll enjoy the location a lot!!

Quiet little Inn with everything just one block over. Ocean views. Clean. Beautiful sundeck. Staff is great. King bed rooms are the better rooms, renovated. The 2 queens room are clean but need upgrading.

What sets this hotel differently from a motel 6 is the quirky paint murals on the walls in the room. It also has upgraded towels. The bed was ok and the room was clean however it had an unpleasant smell.

The staff were friendly and courteous - going the extra mile to keep us in the same room for an impromptu second night. Beach toys were available to borrow. I was able to park at the location for free while exploring the area before check-in and also received a text letting me know when the room was available, which was earlier than the listed check-in time. Appreciated all of these little things when evacuating our home due to the Los Angeles fires.

Great location! Walked everywhere. Coffee in the morning and a nice shared roof top patio with ocean view. Was perfect for our small family for 2 nights.

I could have stayed at any of the more modern hotels but that’s not what I wanted for this trip. Each room at this facility is unique and totally surf oriented. The patio area overlooks the ocean and pier. It’s prime realty. Convienient walking to ocean, shops, eateries. PCH is a great road to travel to other beaches. Manager is exceptional and the room spacious and clean. Will definitely stay here again.

It was small and quaint. The guy who ran it was very nice. We could tell he lived the place and wanted everyone’s stay to be a good one. There are less than 20 rooms total and each room has its own beach theme which we thought was super cute! It’s right across the street from the beach and has a cute community deck with seating to enjoy the view. We go the last room available which was right in front of the check in office. That was a little awkward as our window was only a few feet away so we could clearly hear each other talking and if we opened our window we could see the manager. But we spent most of our time outdoors so it wasn’t too bad.

There was a hole in the wall and the air conditioner didn’t work very well. However, the staff was friendly and the location was awesome. The bathroom was also very nice. The view from the patio was fantastic.

If you're looking for a reasonable hotel literally 5 minutes from the beach, this is the one. The staff is so friendly and nice. Our room gave off surfer vibes with cool decor of surfers and the Huntington Beach pier. We were right near the street so you could see the waves from our room. Other than the occasional reving of a car engine, sound wasn't really an issue (Huntington Beach is a pretty chill neighborhood), we left the windows open all night and still slept well. Will definitely be back with my surf board!

This was a wonderful stay. The front desk was amazing from check-in to check-out. We had a view of the beach from our room and the balcony was amazing for lunch and coffee everyday.

This was a great spot with amazing access to the beach. It is an older property that needs some updating which is the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 stars but it was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Unfortunately, you can hear everything. Every conversation, car passing, people walking by, other guests….

The room and bathroom lighting were substandard. Bathroom towel set was rust stained. Shower door was off the track. Their deck was nice as it had a view of the beach/ocean. In addition, it's across the street from Huntington Beach. The Surf Inn is retro 1950s.

Very close to the beach, Huntington pier, pubs, restaurants and shops. Great location for exploring Huntington beach! Its next to the main road, so you can hear some noise from the main street - we didnt mind, but just to mention. Parking is under the appartments and when you can drive and park, its absolutely ok :).

Its a no-frills well-located for walking to the pier, shopping, bars, and restaurants kind of place. It had some cute touches in terms of surfer style and staff was helpful. It was quiet and clean and safe so if you dont want to spend alot at the bigger hotels nearby, this is your place! Cute little rooftop area to lounge and watch sunset.

Loved the location and the unique feel of the rooms. Had a great weekend and looking to go back soon.
