Reviews

- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Clean rooms and good location
- Noise from other rooms and construction
- Uncomfortable beds and small rooms
- 3/5
Some mild/small stains on the pillow cases, no fitted sheet on the bed and when we called the front desk person just gave us a sheet rather than putting on themselves. Otherwise everything was fine
- 5/5
Great, comfy room, good breakfast. Will come back for sure.
- 2/5
The lobby and hallways were not what I expected from a Marriott. The hotel must have been converted from a lower class hotel. The description also said there was a sofabed in the room but it was only a chair. The bathroom had old fixtures.

I have stayed at TownePlace for years and this time it was awful. The staff was so rude, which one was the General Manager and checking out was the accountant. The motel has gone down hill so much since this last group bought. Its nastier, rude, the breakfast has less choice, but priced higher. This used to be a very nice, reasonable place to stay. It needs new management. Management

Dishes in room and the couch Almost got charged twice for room due to the lady in front office not knowing it was booked through a 3rd party and breakfast wasn’t the best but it was still good !!

Convenient. Worked very well.

Kitchen was fully equipped. The staff is wonderful as well as the food. Felt very safe there

Great room and great breakfast
- 5/5
It was OUTSTANDING! The best place I have stayed at in a long time. 5 Stars on everything! I wish all my choices ended up like this place!
- 5/5
First, I have to highlight the amazing staff. Leah at the front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming, making check-in smooth and stress-free. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect during my stay. In the mornings, Zoe did a fantastic job preparing breakfast — everything was fresh, well-organized, and a great way to start the day. The location of this hotel couldn’t be better. It’s just minutes from Downtown, right off I-40, and close to all the major shopping stores, which made it really convenient for both work and leisure. Overall, the combination of excellent service, convenient location, and comfortable accommodations made this stay outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

Abundance of parking.
- 5/5
Breakfast staff were friendly, and responsive. Very clean. Room was comfortable and great for working with a desk big enough for my monitor and a nice desk chair. Made working from location convenient
- 5/5
Nice safe hotel with plenty of dining options. Will stay again
- 5/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, especially the lady who oversees the breakfast. Hotel itself was nice and area surrounding was as well. Will definitely be back.
- 4/5
We stayed here for a week and would recommend it The staff at the desk- Eric, Tara and Aaron were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and we liked the layout, especially for a weeklong stay.
- 5/5
Very nice stay
- 2/5
After waiting 45 minutes in lobby, our room wasn’t available. We had to go to another hotel for the night, and go back the next morning to get our room
- 3/5
It was very noisy. The traffic from the highway kept me up, the people in the next story woke me up and the guy with the boom box outside at the grill was disturbingly loud. The breakfasts were very good and the server was very pleasant. The back corner where all of the smokers hung out could be better lite. I was concerned parking there.
- 5/5
Room was as advertised and had all of the amenities needed. Everything was clean and comfortable. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
This property is very well kept, staff is amazing and nice
- 4/5
2 bed suite was spacious, clean, and well appointed
- 4/5
The staff here was amazing. I had some glitches with my room and the staff did everything they could to help fix the problem. I would stay here again because of the staff, but the hotel itself lacked a star for cleanliness in all areas including hallways. Trash was in hallways the whole time and not picked up, etc, which is why I only gave it 4 stars
- 4/5
Friendly service and clean
- 4/5
Liked neat & cleanliness of rooms
- 5/5
It’s not a luxurious place, but it’s clean and pleasant. Room was small, but efficient and cozy. Kitchen worked well. Breakfast helped start the day. I recommend it.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Hotel was nice, we use marriott a lot so our expectations for their standards are usually kind of high. Clean, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was ok and the pool was empty/out of service with no notice beforehand. If i would have had my younger daughter this would have been a huge problem. Overall good place to stay.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Very basic services. Desk clerk was very stressed and had trouble checking us in because of the payment through hotels.com but she finally figured it out!
- 5/5
Nice comftable rooms. Easy check-[in. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Convenient location, nice building, good service at the front desk, nice pool. I can't complain about anything. Well done guys!
- 1/5
It was very bad, initially they gave a room and floor above had construction going on and they didn’t give me any heads up. I called them to change rooms they said the hotel was fully booked and few hours later gave me another room which was next to the parking with loud sounds of the traffic could’nt rest all night, don’t ever book this hotel
- 5/5
My stay was fine, room clean, excellent breakfast but all of the staff were great. Pleasant and accommodating and very professional. One of the best staff members I’ve seen in a long time. From front desk to housekeeping
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful, good location, room was great, would gladly stay there again
- 4/5
only bummer is that none of their rooms have a king size bed, also, for the price to be called a suite, was a little on the small size for us
- 5/5
This Was our second time staying. It was perfect.
- 4/5
As a Marriott brand they do have high standards for appearance and cleanliness. Everything was pretty clean. I did find some hair in the bathtub and a big clump of hair in a clean folded bath towel. That is definitely one of my pet peeves when staying at hotels, finding hair in the bathroom, sheets or towels; just a little bit more time, double checking or even caring about your job or work assignment would go a long way. I understand you can’t catch everything but to find a big clump of hair in a clean folded bath towel was a bit disgusting, I don’t understand how you can’t quickly look over both sides of a bath towel when folding to prevent something like that from occurring. The only other problem was the noise level coming from other rooms, above (stomping around) and next to you (high tv volume)…having the fan on from the heater/ac does alleviate most of it. Overall the hotel property and condition of the inside of the hotel seemed really well kept and in good order. The hotel is in a great neighborhood, safe, plenty of shopping areas and food restaurants. The staff seemed really pleasant; the breakfast bar attendants were very friendly and pleasant to interact with. They did a good job at keeping food readily available even when it was busy. The bed wasn’t that comfortable, just a flat mattress. The workout room wasn’t that clean, equipment was dirty and there was no cleaning supplies present. The kitchenette area makes it convenient when on a long stay too.
- 1/5
The bed was absolutely horrendous!!! Way too hard!! The room was much smaller than I expected. The “queen “ bed was smaller than I anticipated.
- 4/5
Everything was fast easy and the staff super polite
- 4/5
Seems a little outdated
- 3/5
Bed and covering wasn't comfortable. No wash cloths and towels poor condition. Breakfast bar just ok. Condition of hotel was just ok. I will not return to this hotel.
- 4/5
The property had suffered a flood loss shortly before our stay which is the downscore for property condition BUT they were working dilligently to get it repaired and did not cause an inconvenience to our stay or access to amenities. Would stay again.
- 3/5
Fire alarm and evacuation at 1 am was not pleasant. False alarm. I was told they did not have the room I had reserved available. But the room the found looked the same and was an excellent ground floor location.
- 5/5
Great location. Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service
- 3/5
The most average hotel of average hotels. It was fine. Check in was fine after a miscommunication with the staff. The room was fine but pretty uncomfortable. Breakfast is supposed to be ready at 7:00 but at 7:20 there was only a plate of bagels. She said the breakfast guy didn’t come in. Likely wouldn’t spend the money to stay here again. It’s no better than any basic hotel.
- 5/5
Very nice. Hope to come and visit again soon!
- 5/5
The staff were very welcoming. The room was great. The breakfast was typical, nothing special.
- 5/5
The service was great! Only wish the beds were more comfortable.
- 5/5
Breakfast was very good but the room is very small. Staff was friendly and responsive
- 5/5
Theplace was clean and comfortable, and the dtaff was friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the vehicle noise from the interstate.
- 5/5
Greatest customer service and awesome staff
- 1/5
Hotel allows pets and our room smelt like dogs, pillows were so bad we went out to buy some. No place to sit outside, no grill to cook out. Bed mattress must be 40 years old, the whole place ran down really bad. Tear it down and start over
- 3/5
Our floor mat towel for the bathroom had footprint shoe marks all over it. And a wet washcloth had been left in the shower from the last guest or cleaning. Odd. At breakfast the guy was working hard, no dis on him, but just couldn't keep up with demand for the food.
- 5/5
Up to date, clean, well maintained.
- 5/5
Very limited parking
- 4/5
The pool was a little dirty. The room smelled musty but the bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
It was great perfect for whole family we had 6 which came with 2 bedrooms a full kitchen and sofa pullout bed
- 5/5
Room was clean and very comfortable! Highly recommended!
- 4/5
Later that night when we returned we noticed there were no sheets on the pullout bed. Needed to wait for a while at the front desk for sheets and pillows. They did not have any clean blankets available so they provided two thin extra sheets for the night. The stairwell smelled a bit like smoke, and the elevators were a little smelly. I am being very picky on this review, but the overall stay was really just fine.
- 5/5
The Room was very spacious and clean. The property is centrally located to lots of very good dining and convenient shopping options... two restaurants on the same street that are excellent are Parkside Grill and Abridged Beer Company.
- 5/5
Marco at front desk was very friendly and helped us find a great restaurant!
- 4/5
Our room was very dirty... for our taste. Staff cleaned it quickly and kindly. Obvious that previous guests were destructive with ripped and dirty sofa, sad.
- 5/5
It was safe and friendly
- 2/5
Kitchen appliances were dirty and front desk person was not cooperative, gave us a dirty room and ehen asked to change it was changed with a big deal kinda face
- 5/5
Nice place to stay on our road trip from Toronto to Orlando. Clean safe with friendly staff.
- 4/5
👍
- 3/5
The bathroom curtains were not cleaned. The dishwasher was not cleaned and vessel’s were not cleaned. The mattress was not up to the expectations.
- 2/5
The room itself was not comfortable; the bed was as hard as the floor, and the couch felt like a torture device. The desk chair was the only place to sit, but it was not a relax-and-enjoy-TV chair. You need at least one recliner.
- 5/5
The hotel was in a good location. Close to a variety of restaurants. Clean room with all the amenities. Staff very friendly. I wish there were side walks for pedestrians to walk to the local restaurants. Overall pleased.
- 4/5
It was good!
- 1/5
I had a terrible stay. I first had to change rooms because the TV didn't work. Then, I didn't get any sleep because of the people above me. They sounded like they were jumping around and even jumping off the bed, but there was no rhythm to it. I think it was an unsupervised kids room and they were jumping off the walls. I even heard yelling (as if parents were trying to discipline their kids). Even through sleep noise playing (heavy rain and waterfall sounds), you could clearly hear the banging, stomping, and occasional yelling. I went to call the front desk, but the phone in my room didn't work. So I called via my cell phone. Whatever TownePlace did it didn't work because the noise continued. And it continued until the upstairs people checked out of the hotel. I asked the front desk how long the people upstairs were staying and they knew exactly why I was asking. Yet, it only resolved once the people checked out. It took me a couple of days to recover from lack of sleep once I got back home.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, great local dining options close by. The room was clean, and had a great workspace.
- 5/5
Friendly efficient staff
- 4/5
My room looked nothing like this picture. It was smaller and there was no room for a couch. It did have a work desk that converted to a dining table for two, had a dishwasher, built-in two burner stove and refrigerator. The finishes in the room were attractive and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my four day stay.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable but not like the picture. It was small and crowded with bulky furniture that got in the way. The kitchen area was nice with a refrigerator/freezer and good microwave. The breakfast was good and had reasonable choice. The area outside was dirty was trash scattered around and the grassy areas were minefields of dog-poop. A trash-can and bags were provided for poop but had been is a head-on collision with a vehicle so was unworkable. This is not strictly the fault of the hotel, it just seems that many pet-owners are very inconsiderate and selfish.
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable. Convenient to restaurants and interstate. Employees were pleasant.
- 5/5
The property is not in the congested hotel/dining area of Cedar Bluff/North Peters Rd. in West Knoxville, but is nearby and has easy access (2 minutes drive) to all the dining options that are in that location. Necessity shopping is within 3-5 minute drive. Refueling for travel is easy for Costco users, only 4 minutes away. Access to Interstate 40 is great.
- 5/5
Only down side to anything was the strong smell of weed as we walked down the hall to our room
- 4/5
Place was good overall. The a/c in the room did not maintain temps very well. The Bed was firmer than I would like.
- 5/5
My room was clean and as expected. The furnishings were typical for an extended stay. The biggest problem I had was one my second day I walked it and the roo. Smelled like a dispensary. Management was very apologetic and even throught me air fresheners but unfortunately the smell lingered the next 3 days. The breakfast was hit or miss. All of the staff was polite and friendly.
- 5/5
Wonderful place & staff! Definitely would stay here again!
- 4/5
The room we had was old looking for an the carpet was damp the bed was too soft no support my husband was in pain on waking in the morning that is unusual for him the temperature in the room was too warm for me to sleep comfortably The bathtub looked dirty and old Not going to stay their on our next visit to Knoxville.
- 2/5
Very popular with pet owners which made the hallways smelly. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool was dirty with broken umbrellas and chairs. Breakfast was dismal, not a lot of options. Will pay extra next time to stay somewhere nice
- 4/5
Great place and price. However, I wish it was a little cleaner.
- 3/5
Should have installed security camera outside this property to deter burglary, and bathroom should have installed exhaust fan a plus!
- 5/5
Loved the room set up, was private and comfy
- 1/5
Checked in late in the evening
- 5/5
Because of recent foot surgery, I booked what I thought was a room with a sofa in it based on the picture and description on Hotels.com. However, when I arrived, the hotel had me booked in a Queen Suite with a chair, not a sofa. The problem is with Hotels.com's labeling when they sent the request. I did notice when I booked the room that both rooms on their website had the same name, but one pictured a sofa and the other pictured a chair. If you care about a sofa vs a chair in the room I would suggest that you double check with the hotel itself once you have the room booked since Hotels.com doesn't send the correct room labels. The hotel itself was clean and otherwise comfortable. They did let me borrow a chair from the lobby that made it so that I could elevate my foot as I needed, but they were fully booked and couldn't get me the room that I thought I had booked.
- 5/5
We had a great experience! The staff was so incredibly helpful and kind and very accommodating. Would 100% recommend and will be back!
- 4/5
Keys did not work the first time. Had to walk from farend to the office and back again as we had the fartherst room from the office. Otherwise everything was good. Rooms were clean and quite.
- 5/5
It was great! Clean, well maintained and great customer service!
- 5/5
The property was nice and well kept. The staff were all kind and helpful. The room was spacious, very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable with nice, thick pillows. I will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I am visiting Knoxville!
- 3/5
Bed was extremely uncomfortable and too soft. Pillows were too hard and cheapo.
