    Driving up, great presentation. Handicap parking in the back of the building. They charge $10 for parking. Hotel was spacious, right by the freeway. Room had plenty of space as well. No breakfast included but you can buy some simple grab and go food. The only thing negative is that the hall way on the fourth floor smelled like vomit so I would try to hold my breath.

    The Hotel is charming within the room. It made me feel beautiful. The only thing it lacks are microwaves in bedroom is it down fall. Its in a very great location. And in my opinion the best in the area. Lake Forest. Laguna Hills.

    Cannot recommend this hotel. Extra fees, lack of help from employees, room was not very well designed, the bathtub drain was rusty and there was no place to hang wet towels. So many little things that detracted from the experience.

    Cramped room even for two people Animal friendly so smelled like it. Rusty bathroom and clogged shower drain caused flooding daily. Surprise $10 per night parking fee. Just not worth it. No complimentary breakfast. Good location though. Well stay at newer hotels in the area next time.

    Our room was clean and comfortable, and overall we had a pleasant stay. The only minor issue we noticed was that the bottom of the bathtub looked a bit dirty, although it didn’t cause any problems during our visit. The air conditioning worked well, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, this was a great option for a weekend getaway, and we would consider staying here again.

    I stayed here based on some reviews and pictures. I would not rate this a three star hotel. Please stay elsewhere if you can as it felt more like a motel. Even the ceiling is still the old popcorn style. The room had a musty smell. The bathroom felt dirty. I saw some mold in the shower corners and hair on the bathroom floor. They even have a hidden $10 parking fee which I got waived. This parking is barely listed on the hotel page and not shown in your checkout.

    Amy experience was fair. First hotel I have stayed, in a very long time, that didn’t have a mini- fridge, the carpet was very dirty, and no wash cloths by the shower. I think in advance people should be aware of all your hidden charges. I won’t recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

    Great stay, in a convenient location for a lot of different city amenities. I was concerned about the dinghy carpet but the day we checked out there was a carpet cleaning company cleaning the carpets. Family friendly, clean pool and lounge area.

    Seemed like an overall nice location and met my needs. Just a quick sports trip for onw night. Staff was slow with requests. Was outside at the pool with lots of other guests and it took multiple requests to get towels. Just seems maybe under staffed.

    The location was great once you found the place. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and big enough. There was a pull out bed, which we did not expect, so that was nice. 100% NOT AN EXTENDED STAY HOTEL! Not for families. They nickle and dime you for EVERYTHING! Charge for parking, no breakfast included, charge for late check out. When buying from them there is not only a regular tax but then a "tourist" tax. When you buy breakfast from them, it was so expensive for microwavable items we could have purchased for a fraction of the price. If you have a family buy your breakfast and heat it in the microwave. We did it once and then decided to just buy microwave sandwiches and meals for the rest of the trip. So for 1 breakfast for a family of 4 (2 microwaved sandwiches, 3 cups of coffee and oatmeal), along with 2 nights of parking and a late check out was an extra 145.00 with all their extras taxes and fees. That was unexpected and will choose another location in the future.

    I had a horrible experience during memorial day weekend at Sonesta Select in Laguna Hills. It seems there was some chemical/gas leak that happened in OC that weekend, so when I arrived at 3:30PM on Friday for check-in, I was denied a room on time when check-in was for 4PM. When I walked in, someone who appeared to be the manager already looked in distress and had an angry face and didn't bother to greet me. The other person was assisting a couple and that already seemed to take a long time. I couldn't quite understand why my check-in was delayed considering I booked this way in advance, but they claimed that due to evacuation status for those affected by the chemical leak, they had customers in at 2AM and were granted a late check-out time.. This apparently pushed my check-in time and I was told they would call me when a room was available. Since I booked through Expedia, they apparently didn't have my phone #. The lady asked for my phone # and I waited 4 hours only to receive no call. I showed up by 8PM to find out the lady got my phone # wrong... I was finally granted a room.. This experience sucked, and yes, I did call their hotel early and no one picked up the phone.

    Didn’t get a chance to enjoy the property, there was so many issues with check in we had to wait about an hour in the lobby before we could check in cops were called and it was total chaos, we decided to check out a day early but they oiled not accommodate any chances I was truly disappointed.

The gentleman at the breakfast bar was great; he was friendly and knew how to make fantastic cappuccino and lattes. The property was dirty. They had very minimal cleaning staff. Our room had pizza sauce on the carpet and it looked like someone wiped their mouth on the comforter. We asked for it to be cleaned but they just dropped sheets off at our door. I should not be expected to make a bed at a hotel! We had to wake twice for a new comforter and for the carpet to be cleaned. We also asked for fresh towels and the employee told me there were no clean towels on the premises because they were light on staff. This was Memorial Day weekend, why were they light on staff? The carpets throughout the hotel were also really dingy. I never went barefoot in my hotel room either.

    Nice Views, and Balcony. Prices not bad. UNSAFE FACILITY! I was INJURED because the Motion Sensor Light switch is located OUTSIDE the Bathroom. Once you close the door, the Light turns off and it becomes PITCH BLACK while you're either on the Pot ?, or in Shower. I SLIPPED, FELL, AND HIT MY HEAD ON THE TILE FLOOR SO HARD, I WAS BLEEDING IN 2 PLACES! When I informed the Front Desk, they acted like I didn't even exist!! I could take Legal action if I wanted to, but I mainly want them to fix the design flaw, so nobody else gets hurt!!     Looks appealing in photos but the reality is, it’s not. It’s right off the freeway with loud noise. The rooms are so tiny. I had “deluxe room with balcony” and it was smaller than any room I’ve stayed. You layout your suitcase and then you have no room to walk. The tv sits adjacent to the bed. There is so much furniture in the room you stub your toe. The bathroom has no fan. The sink has minimal lighting and no counter space. There was a lady smoking literal crack in the parking lot.

    This is more of a two star hotel. Parking fees are hidden and really just a way to take money! Park at your own risk, no security anywhere! Weekday front desk staff was short and almost rude. Weekend staff were so kind and helpful! Really understaffed! Maid wouldn't even take towels sent us to front desk for everything! Location was good, no real amenities. Room was clean. Probably wouldn't stay here again!

    Absolutely horrible in every aspect. Place smells so bad walking through the hallways I mean it’s as if ppl are living out of their rooms cooking full meals. I mean you gotta do what you gotta do but it’s bad. They try to cover up the smell but you just can’t. They won’t even let you kick it outside in the back at night I mean there is just nothing here. There was trash that was just left outside of the rooms doors and I mean it was there for hours just ridiculous! This is a place if you are just low on cash and can grind it out this is just a place to lay your head for a night. There’s homeless and random ppl outside in front of the hotel. You can only control what you can control but just not a vacate spot it’s a place to try to just go to sleep for cheap and move on. The bathroom also smelled like sewage I can go in but hopefully this helps ppl out there.

    This was by far one of the most disgusting and unacceptable hotel experiences I have ever had, and I will NEVER stay at another Sonesta ES Suites Laguna Hills Irvine Spectrum again.The worst part was what we found while checking the room before leaving. I was traveling with my mother and my two daughters. My mom thought one of my daughters had left behind a bottle of hair product under the bed. Instead, she reached under there and grabbed an OPENED and USED bottle of lubricant left by a previous guest. Absolutely revolting. No family should ever experience something that disgusting. God only knows where it had been before my mother unknowingly touched it with her bare hands. It made us physically sick.The problems started the moment we arrived after an exhausting 8-hour drive. The front desk employee barely acknowledged us and seemed far more interested in loudly socializing with other employees than helping guests. When we finally got to our room, the key wasn’t even programmed correctly, forcing us to go back downstairs.The room smelled like sewage or as if someone had just used the bathroom moments before we walked in. The toilet paper rolls were already half used, making it obvious the room had not been properly cleaned or sanitized. We also requested towels and were completely ignored.We travel often, and this was easily the filthiest and most unprofessional hotel experience we’ve ever had. I will absolutely never return and will make sure to warn others not to stay here

    There was no chain on the door, the outlets next to the bed didn’t work, the bathroom was old and felt kind of gross. It was supposed to be a pool view room and it faced a parking lot. I checked out after 1 night and didn’t get a refund. Do not recommend

    I absolutely hated my time here. The staff was incredibly rude, the manager lady would keep asking when I am checking out every few hours when I saw her. At some point it was rude and intentional as if she’s asking me to get out. She also immediately clowned me in front of a male guest the minute I tried to check in. The property had so many noise issues. The elevator kept beeping. The road had down kind of issue so when cars drove if the freeway it’s so loud. I had to buy earplugs. The fire alarm battery is dying in the room so it would flash alll night. It said when I booked breakfast was included and when I got here it was not. I needed to leave the hotel, I could not stand being here. Also the thermostat temperature does not change the room temperature. There was also 4 cop cars on the property investigating something. I do not recommend staying here. The staff was horrible

    The carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time, as there were obvious spill stains on the carpet running the entire floor. Additionally, when I went to my car, there was a broken beer bottle on the ground surrounding my car. It's then that I recalled seeing the security guard sitting behind the counter chatting up the front desk clerk when I checked in the night before. As I had booked for the entire week, I cancelled the rest of my trip through Expedia and booked elsewhere. They still penalized me one extra night for cancelling. Disappointed in both the hotel and Expedia.

    Do not get the breakfast. Was over price for what you get. It grab and go and definitely not worth what they charge. Instead order uber eats. Staff was just ok. Parking is $10 per day for public style parking, nothing special, no security which is what i would expect it to cover. Our room had a balcony... if that is what you call it. It was like 1 ft by 6 ft. I was expecting something we could sit and enjoy a meal on. Our bed was super soft... too soft if you ask me(we both woke up with back aches). We had these little bugs flying all around our room and could not figure out why. We did not mention it to staff because we knew the hotel was full and probably nothing could be done

    The hotel itself was alright. Nothing to write home about. The halls were filthy, and it smelled really musty throughout the building. My room smelled like 5 day old smelly body odor that they tried to cover up with a cheap body spray. When I opened the wardrobe, it got even worse. There was some staining on one my pillow cases, and the pillows were flat as heck. For the price, I think you can find better.

    Other than the paying for parking which I didn’t know about booking through Hotel.com the stay was great. We also didn't know about an early check in fee as well. It was waived but not use to hotels doing this. Usually you can check in and just wait for your room to be done. Everything else was great. Quiet near the freeway and near Irvine Spectrum and lots of places to grab food. Great stay overall

    The hotel needs a cleaning. The halls are dirty and aren't clean. The trash container in the laundry room is filthy. Hasn't been cleaned in months. The gray exterior is black. I brought the top to the front desk and they acknowledged that it was filthy. They thanked me for bringing it to their attention. They wiped it off and put it back in laundry room. Wiping off doesn't do it. Need to be power washed. The lane lines on the apron of the entrance are faded so bad that you can hardly read them. The garbage cans on the outside of the building are jammed so much that they can't take any more so it ends on the ground. The one near the smoking area was not emptied for several days. Parking lot and landscaped areas are covered with litter. The stairs are scuffed and haven't been washed in months. Hotel guests throw their used towels into the hallway and they sit their for hours. Why would anyone want to reserve a room in this property.

    This was a nice hotel. The rooms were very clean, although the hallways were a bit worn with stains on the carpet. I wanted to get a wake up call and dialed the front desk, but was put on hold. No one ever picked up the phone, so after 15 minutes I hung up and called back. No one ever picked up. That was frustrating. A microwave would be a nice addition to the amenities. There was a group having a party that was very noisy late into the night-hard to sleep. But over all, it was a nice place.

    There are drains on the floor of the bathroom! No tub, dirty, rust everywhere. Plus the carpet on the way to the room had streaks of garbage being dragged through it. They also charge for parking even when it says parking in the description. Staff was just there and rendered no help.

    The first room I was in had cockroaches in it. Then the staff was extremely rude and not at all helpful and trying to make things right they sent me to a different room which again I had a problem in considering the shower, didn’t work. I asked to be called for the room and was told there’s nothing they could do oh not to mention the room that they sent me to for the second room was not only a downgrade for my original room, but smaller and again the broken shower.

    Staff is wonderful! Beds are comfortable and it's quiet. However there's hallways stains on carpets that were there last year. The elevator had a sticky spill that wasn't cleaned with our 2 day stay. The hotel is quite outdated, but its a great rate to have a place to sleep. The lobby is loaded with outlets so you can work which is awesome. Just wish they would clean their carpets and offer free coffee in the lobby.

    Had several issues in both rooms the showers were clogged. Backed up water in both showers both rooms. The 1st room had an awkward situation to it. Staff, Acted promptly to address the room needs. But on arrival back to room they never cleaned the tub or found the issue of the clogged tubes. Friendly service just wish i didnt need to switch rooms so late in the day. The did charge me for early check in fee when i only was inconvenienced by it. Amenities, were great no issue there. LA do away with the parking fees already.

    They charged my account 90$ with out asking me first. I already paid the stay and incidental. I received a letter under my door stating that they were doing a system update and that they were taking money out of peoples accounts. Sorry for the inconvenience.     We left the property as soon as we seen our room. The hallway was filthy and smelled very bad. Our room had a filthy floor, like it was not vacuumed and there was urine stains on the toilet. The room smelled like urine and feces. I let the front desk attend know we were leaving due to being mislead on the Expeda website. The property was not a 3 star, it was not even a 2 star. She said they would refund our payment as long as you contacted them and ok'd it.

    Firstly, the staff was outstanding. However, the hotel room had several cleanliness issues. The tub spout had a leak at all times, there were dirty corners of the bathroom floor and janky maintenance on the tub. There was stain on the couch that looked bad and a some other areas of the room that had been neglected for dusting and proper cleaning. With all that said, the bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the use of the pool.

    Upon arrival, we were given only one breakfast ticket per adult, which covered just one drink, one muffin, and one piece of fruit. This was extremely minimal, honestly worse than a public school breakfast. The hotel was aware that we were traveling with two children, yet no food tickets or options were offered for them. At the very least, accommodations for children should have been considered. Another major issue was the strong smell of dog urine in the carpet, which became especially noticeable at night. On the first night, the room smelled heavily of disinfectant, but it was clear that this was only masking the underlying odor rather than resolving it. The front desk staff was polite but not particularly helpful. When my husband requested that the trash bags in our room be changed, he was simply handed trash bags and towels at the front desk instead of having housekeeping assist us. At that point, it genuinely felt like if we had mentioned the bathroom was dirty, we would have been handed soap and a sponge to clean it ourselves. Overall, while the staff was not rude, the lack of service, cleanliness issues, and poor consideration for families made this stay very underwhelming. We expected a much higher standard, especially during a busy holiday season.

    This was generally acceptable property with one exception. Far right newspaper Epoch Times in the lobby. I don’t know if all Sonesta Select properties support far right conspiracies like QAnon but we were offended to see that information in the lobby. We understand that everyone is entitled to their beliefs but don’t think you should be recruiting hotel guests. We will never stay at a Sonesta Select property again.

    Everybody. There very kind understanding and diligent in effort. They are hard working as deal with times and are consistent in life issues that are difficult in society. Truth is they do. Everyday. Late night to early morning. Maybe perhaps the hotel is a beach side upper echelon magnificent hotel. They do a lot hard work with fire and police as guard we all probably take for granted in the facility. We don't acknowledge that and if yer person as me.     The property was cheap for the week we were there. The reviews on Expedia are so much better than the actual google reviews..... While I never felt unsafe- it was a bit dirty the hotel. The elevator reaked of Dog, and the bathrooms and just rooms in general are so outdated. No continental breakfast. The pay to park for 10 dollars a day makes absolutely no sense. I wish they would advertise it better prior to booking (if they did, I missed it and that can be on me). The staff however was excellent.

    The “manager” and the “supervisor” have lost their minds because they do not appreciate their job and they hate their job. So they lash out on customers who are wealthier than them as they pretend that they are wealthy by parking Nehal’s Mercedes that has dents on the parking entrance where it created traffic and Nehal wanted to punch customer’s face as she wore her “Rolex” watch that she purchased from New York Manhattan’s knock off store on the street. The supervisor refused to print out receipts with descriptions and illegally charged customer’s debit card knowing parking wasn’t needed. Then she threw the paper at the customer and shouted “Next time I will throw it into your face!” She shopped online while the microwave had hairs and it was dirty. Who would want to eat food after coming out of that dirty microwave? Then the plumbing sucks and the hallway on the level 4 smelled like weed. When customers’ want hot water from the bar, they direct the customers to get hot water from the gym and that machine has mold. I thought California had smart and professional people, especially in Orange County. But that vision and reputation is long gone and I see why people got out of Orange County. I guess they act how they vote for things. I simply asked about $20 and what it was for. It’s just a $20 but I refused to give free money to those employees. Then as the Manager screamed at me for asking for the $20 but today they wanted to pay $20 in cash.

    Dirty room. Hotel smelled like piss and cigarettes. Huge gap at the bottom of every hotel door. You can hear everything going on in every room when walking through the hallways. I had to cover my sons ears each time. Low staffing, the person working the front desk had to run back and forth to the cafe during breakfast. Parking was fine but you had to walk in the street to get to the front door, almost got hit twice by cars going around a blind corner. Location is right next to the freeway. You can hear constant road traffic. Bathtub filled up past ankle height during showering. Only one elevator worked and was constantly being used by room service to move carts and materials. Dirty, noisy, smelly, understaffed. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

    I had stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago when I lived in the area and was excited to visit it again. I was disappointed to see how much the property had fallen. The highway noise is horrible. I had to ask to transfer rooms and even being at the back of the building you could still hear motorcycles from the freeway. The breakfast we paid for was premade, packaged muffins, fruit cups, yogurt, and juice or coffee. They never seem to have any eggs or anything substantial as an option. Except the friend I was traveling with got a breakfast sandwich our last morning because they didn’t have anything else to offer him. The walls are thin, so if somebody has an animal or a child, you hear it. Some coyotes walked through the property at 2 o’clock in the morning and started screaming and woke me up. I’m just really disappointed at the cost of this trip versus the level of satisfaction, I felt with my stay. :/ Wouldn’t recommend it again and probably won’t be back.

    Breakfast was like a Starbucks and few places to sit down and eat, so not really functionable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and nice, but lacked a safety box which is very important to include in the room. Well located to lots of restaurants and places to visit.

    We have stayed here multiple times because of the great location. The pool and spa are a real draw.. The only negative is that only 1 of 2 elevators works. Therefore it takes a long time in and out; especially at check out. Love the small sofa, convenient fridge & microwave. The room layout meets all of our needs.

    The room is very clean and seems in new condition. The staff was very accommodating. The restaurant is no longer however the coffee bar was nice. The outdoor seating/pool area is nice. There are no USB ports in the rooms. The gym is in sad shape- 5 non matching dumbbells. The location is right off the freeway so it is noisy but it is a short walk to eating places. The price was affordable.

    Staffing was very nice and accommodating, check in was a breeze. There was a parking fee. Convenient, accessible 24hr store in the lobby. Rooms were clean, but when you first walked into the room, it had an awkward smell, almost like stale smoke smell. The office chair that was in the room had a weird white (fuzzy) on the back of the chair, we did not sit on it. But overall it was a good/affordable stay.

    A little outdated but was well kept and very clean. Also convenient to the freeway and shipping/gas which was great. The only issues I had were the noise levels and paying to park. This place allows dogs and we had one across from us that would bark often. There's also road noise but that doesn't bother me as much. Overall a good stay for the price with some very minor inconveniences.

    Dirty. The shower was clogged- hair backflowed into the tub. Our first room had stains on the sheets, they did switch out the room quickly. The coffee is a little expensive and watery. We didn’t pay much maybe 120$ a night but it felt like a motel…also a homeless man was staying in one of the rooms with a bike outside the door with tons of bags- gave us an uneasy feeling

    Room was fairly clean wish the light switches were cleaner. Hall carpets are a mess. Pool was clean but there were only 3 towels. Only 1 of the 2 elevators worked and my balcony screen came off the first time i opened it. Room was quiet for being right next to the freeway. All the staff were very, very nice and helpful. It was fine for what i needed which was a just a place to sleep but i wouldn't stay there for a vacation.

    This property is not clean. There were palm branches laying on the ground near the entrance that could have easily been picked up if anyone cared how this hotel looks when a customer arrives. Everything was dirty; the windows, the elevator, the carpets in the hallways and inside the rooms. The screen door was broken. The sliding window needs service. We booked this room to avoid a long drive home after a party. We ended up checking out, not using the room, and making the long drive home because this place is icky.

    “Balcony” rooms are useless b/c of the freeway noise. Did not feel safe either—as there was a scalable tree right next to the balcony. Phone in room was unplugged and did not work in any case. Felt that there could have been a listening device in it as it rattled. Lighting in room was very dim.

    My next issue (again, at no fault of the staff) deals with the pool area being closed. One of the reasons we picked this location was because they had a hot tub. My wife and I like to enjoy relaxing in a jacuzzi or hot tub whenever we travel. But when we got there, we were notified that the pool area was closed. It would be nice if there was a way to see which amenities were not available at the time of booking. The last issue is that they don't provide complimentary breakfast like most hotels have standard. Overall, our stay was alright. The people who worked there were great. Hopefully they can address some of these issues. When they do, I'm sure this place will also be great.

    Staff changed me more than they were supposed to. I called to find out what the charge was and the lady who answered was rude when I told her the first person who I spoke with when arriving said there was a fee for pet which my dog is a service animal and had her collar. On top of that the ADA doesn’t require she carry a vest or any type of identification but she did have one. And on the website it states service animal are excluded form the $75 fee which I was still charged on top of not getting my $50 deposit back. I have filed a dispute because I shouldn’t be over charged when nothing was damaged and having a service dog isn’t something I should be charged for.

    Nice room and easy to find + parking. Staff was kind. Only issue is we were not told ahead of our holiday weekend(Labor day) that pool was closed and included breakfast was disappointing. Would stay again just avoid paying extra for breakfast and hope that all amenities are available or at least be told ahead of time if not.

    The property felt like it had been neglected. The wipes were empty, as were teh towels in the gym. The gym mats were really dirty. They delivered pillow cases without pillow cases. Several outlets in the room were loose and flimsy, and hence did not charge. The frig was barley cold. Oh and the pool was closed. Also right IN FRONT on the freeway.

    We arrived at 2 to see if the room was available and it wasn’t. Not a big deal checking is at 4. We arrived back at 4:15-4:30. Room was not ready and we were told that they had upgraded us to a suite. However room was not ready but will be ready momentarily. We checked again at 5 still not ready. Still not ready at 5:30 We told then we have an event to go to and they just smiled. We had been in our clothes since the morning and driven from Las Vegas with stops on the way. We had to go to our event in the clothes we were in all day. Rather embarrassing. I had actually paid to get a high floor as they texted me asking if would like to upgrade to a high floor???? I say yes. High floor was great. Got to see the car park and the free way. What a coup. The morning lady at the reception was the same lady that was making breakfast for everyone so everything was so slow. The bath had rust around the faucets and dirt in the bottom of it. Was not a pleasant stay at all. Would not recommend any one stay there.

    One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Disgusting and dirty throughout. Dog feces all over the walkways and grass leading into both entryways. We were there for four days and it was never cleaned up. The room/carpets, and desk top were dirty and the bathroom shower curtain smelled terrible. So bad we cancelled our final night stay. Final bill included taxes and parking fees and did not match the quoted rate on Hotels.com. Terrible experience all around. Either Hotels.com or Sonesta is lying about the fees.

    The staff were absolutely fantastic however the hotel is in need of renovating such as replacing of old carpets, furniture has staining and the bathroom tubs, at least ours had a great deal of rust. This does not go for all Sonesta hotels, because the one I stayed in Orlando was very nice and updated, however surprisingly the Laguna Sonesta Select is very run down. Again staff was excellent!

    I have never stayed at a hotel this dirty. From the moment I walked in, I was appalled. The hallways had heavily stained carpets, smelled like dog pee, and visible trash — it looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed or cleaned in years. The condition of our room was no better. The carpet was filthy, with visible food crumbs, pieces of what looked like beef jerky, and even dog food. It was clear it hadn’t been vacuumed before our arrival. The bathroom smelled awful, especially at night, and the tub had rust spots and grime. Completely unacceptable. Most of the staff seemed unapproachable and generally unhappy to be there. The only bright spot was Nehat, the Front Desk Supervisor. She was kind, professional, and actually seemed to care about guests — a rare glimmer of hope in an otherwise miserable experience. I truly wish I could share pictures so people could see just how bad it was. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    The hotel DO NOT make the bed or even change the bed if you request it. There was a large party staying at the hotel and they were partying in the pool and hot tub, drinking and eating in the pool. They had wedged the gate open also. We felt that we could not enjoy the amenities at all. We told the staff on the front desk yet they did nothing at all, so we just stayed in our room.

    I did not have a fabulous time here as there was an insect flying around that bit me on the face and my face blew up and I looked awful and well as feeling itchy. My husband get bitten as well the following evening. We did manage to change room. The room we paid for should have had a sofa bed in it, but it never did. The hotel DO NOT make the bed or even change the bed if you request it. They do not come to your room unless you request new towels or toilet roll. They answer the phone no problem but they don’t actually do anything.

    Front staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable and strong AC. Lack of room service unless you asked was challenging for us since we were in and out due to an athletic competition. The facet to the tub leaked and the fan didn’t work. Found that having to pay for parking was unnecessary as many other hotels nearby didn’t require it. That cost our family an additional $50. Next time we will stay closer to the aquatic center with free parking and free breakfast.

    The whole property smelled like bug spray, specially in the lobby the smell was overwhelming. The carpet in the hallways were stained and musty, in one area smell like dog urine. The rooms are extremely cramped, the "sofa bed" is closer to a love seat and the upholstery looked stained and grimy. We could not even stay the night, had to find another hotel. Avoid this place.

    I stayed at Sonesta Select Laguna Hills on July 5, 2025. Around 1 AM, I woke up to bugs crawling all over the bed. I was shocked and disgusted. I took photos and videos and told the front desk right away. They moved me to a different room and asked me to fill out a form. I waited over a week and finally heard back. They said their pest control found “no insects.” No report was shown to me. They gave me a $50 gift card and waived the night, but that doesn’t change what happened. This was a really upsetting experience. The way they handled it made it worse. I would not stay here again.

    This is a party hotel. The hall carpets are filthy because they allow crowds of people to hang out in the halls and party. We had an early flight the next day and couldn’t sleep because there was a party going on in the room nextdoor, sounded like there were 50 people yelling, jumping off beds, breaking things etc..We called the front desk and the girl laughed and said she would call them. They didn’t stop so we called her back and she answered and hung up three times on us. Finally, she answered. I told her that they are not stopping. She said she would call them again. I said they can’t hear a phone call, so she said she would send up security as she was giggling about the situation. Not sure if she called security because they were loud for about another hour. Terrible experience. Very unprofessional and unacceptable the way the employee handled the situation.

    Read the reviews ... Every negative review came true! The fact that they are using a Laguna Hills/Irvine Spectrum Address is a joke. You would be better off in a tent on the side of the freeway. This place is dirty with dog hair caked all over the walls, beds, carpet & walls. Do not stay here!!! One review stated you cannot hear the Freeway ... nope! You can definitely hear the freeway. Booked this for a sporting event nearby ... Big Mistake!

    Hotel has a urine-like smell. Assuming because they allow pets. Rooms are okay. They don't offer room service unless you stay longer than 7 days. It would be nice for them to offer it when requested. We wanted new sheets but they wouldn't give us any. Luckily they do give fresh towels upon request. We were there for a baseball tournament with 8 year olds. So needed to keep them entertained. We were kicked out of the pool area because we needed to give others a chance to be in the pool. No one ever came down to try and get in the pool. And it did not state anywhere that there was a time limit to be there. We then wanted to have dinner in the lobby, and were told we needed to go up to our rooms because we had too many people in the lobby. Hardly anyone at the front desk to help. The staff kept disappearing to the back for long periods of time.

    The staff is great, they are really helpful and I worked with my concerns. I booked a balcony and just had a window that didnt open to a patio (that I guess was considered a balcony). They were able to move me to a bigger room that was more accomodating. The showers had good water pressure, beds were comfy, pool with towels provided a plus. Common areas were kept up. Fire pit is great for large parties to hangout.1 washer and 1 dryer. Location is great close to freeway and stores. Breakfast for a fee. I would still stay here again. Areas for improvement. There is no microwave in the rooms only one in the lobby which was a little dirty, Kind of inconvenient. I wish they had bigger trash cans in the rooms, throw away 2 or 3-16oz bottles and your trash is full :/ again not a huge deal but it is annoying. They did come and get the trash if requested so that was good.also gave us extra room towels when requested. One thing that I also thought needed to change was the carpet on the first floor. It was definately needing some love, it looked pretty dingy. They do allow dogs, so it smelled of wet dog in certain parts of the hall. The gym also needs some love. They dont have cameras in the gym so im guessing thats how they are missing weights, they had 1 set of 45lbs and one 40lb and a 5lbs set. a full rack, With only those weights! a little disappointing because the gym area is nice. more cushioned gym mats would be nic. The ones in there were paper thin. Also no towels in the gym.

    The mini fridge is tiny, tiny and there is no microwave in the rooms, but there is one available in the lobby. There is no free breakfast, which is becoming an industry standard lately. There are 'grab and go' food options, but for a price. Also, $10 a day for parking, which is silly since there's plenty of parking and it's not like a downtown area where parking is hard to come by. Pool and common areas are nice and clean. Overall, good deal. We will stay here again.

    The carpet in the room was so dirty it made our feet black. The tub did not drain while showering, so nothing like 3”of dirty water on your feet. Gross! We were supposed to stay 3 nights but checked out after 1 night. Told the desk the day we checked it wasn’t go to work out for us. The lady was very kind and said to contact Expedia and it would be no problem.

    This was the second time we’ve had plumbing-related issues at this hotel. It’s a great price and location but not worth it. Last time we stayed here we came back to the bathroom carpet being flooded. Couldn’t find a leak anywhere so they offered to let us switch rooms. This time the sink wouldn’t drain and filled with black water. I don’t think the conditions here are sanitary. We won’t be staying again.

    Although the parking was convenient and easy, there was a $10 per night charge. The room and bed were comfortable, clean and spacious. The only comment is the carpet in the common area (lobby and hallways) needs to be replaces, overdue. My wife and I had a very nice stay and will definitely return in the future.

    Our room had a strong sewage smell and seemed to be coming from the bathroom tub or toilet that would not go away. Hotel front desk staff said they could not get us into another room because they were booked and only offered to spray the room with air freshener, which I already did, and this was not helpful as the smell was so strong. We ended up having to sleep with this smell throughout our stay and it was a terrible experience.

    Akmleays great just housekeeping doesn’t clean daily only upon check out but you can request “some” housekeeping services. Usually room is cleaner but this fine bathroom was not thorough. Lots of hair everywhere like they had quick wiped.     Like the place it was clean friendly staff. It is in a little need of upgrading in some places our room was clean and comfortable but the shower had a lot of rust stains the cabinet where the fridge goes was very worn discolored it looked rough.when it was time for bed and pulled out the sofa bed there was nooo bedding at all no fitted sheet no sheet no blanket no extra pillow, we had to ask front desk and they did bring some sheets.

    I was not expecting to have to pay $10 to park on the property, I think that’s just tacky. I also wasn’t real happy about having to leave a $75 deposit that God only knows when it will be returned to me and I absolutely hate it when I intentionally pay for a room that is not handicapped and the Sonesta ended up giving me the handicapped room. I was also blown away in not such a good way by the fact that none of the rooms have microwaves in them. You have to go downstairs and use the one common microwave for everybody. However, the beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very nice for the price.

    The hotel is as seen in the photos, the staff very well, the room was in order, I didn't like the hidden charges, I chose the hotel for the price but they charged everything... parking $50, how am I going to get to the hotel if it's not by car! And the parking lot is not closed or covered... it is accessed from everywhere, breakfast not included, no complimentary coffee....     I have paid for my son to stay here at least ten times during the past months. Until this stay, he was treated with respect. This time, the clerk refused to take his identification, as he has not been able to renew his driver's license. I do not understand why this is suddenly a new issue for them???     The area where the hotel is located is pretty great since it’s not too far from the local areas. But we didn’t get basic rooms touchups, got a late notice about paid parking and on the add it said free breakfast. When it was time to check in I did receive an email saying the parking overtime was an additional 10 dollars per night. I didnt mind it should have been advertised. Same things with breakfast, yes it was free but how is it we only got two tickets per day for a room with three people in it? Plus the way the manager (we assume it was her) had an attitude every morning about it was a bit off putting. I understand if they were understaffed in the morning but if you offer a service at least act a bit kinder towards everyone and not just selected guest. Other than that other staff were very nice and friendly and greeted us every morning. I wouldn’t say we would stay here again but for the price and the area it was efficient.

    Super easy check-in process. The property was clean and very easy to get to. Loved the private parking and only $10/night parking fee which is much cheaper than other hotels. The rooms have a smart TV, which is a huge plus!! More expensive hotels don't even have smart TVs which limits your viewing options while you're in the room. Really enjoyed our stay here.

    Was there 2 nights for business so really only there to sleep. There was a definite stench in the room. Noticed when we entered but had a full work schedule with trade show, dinner meetings. We had to leave right after checking in then arrived back late... too tired to do anything. Opened slider to air out while getting ready for bed. Up early rushing to work, same thing next day... Aired out while we were at dinner and it was our last night. Just kept shoes on and kept belongings away from the smelly part of carpet which we were able to hone in on. If we weren't so busy with work and exhausted we would have asked to move rooms. Just literally too tired and just wanted to sleep. Whoever cleaned the room would have noticed the stench and should not have offered this room up until it was removed. Aside from that, the room was clean except for some carpet stains. Location was convenient to freeway. Our room faced the highway. Very loud with siders open but once closed it was fine. There are 2 layers of sliding doors

    room had a very odd smell... smelly in some areas, I think it was concentrated in an area of the carpet as when I closed and lifted up my suitcase. My husband and I could smell it even more from the floor.... we were there for work and weren't in the room more than just to sleep. We aired the room out and left the slider open while we went to dinner. We were going to ask to switch rooms after the first night but so tired to pack everything up. Then we rushed out for work the next morning, was back late and rushed off to a business dinner. too tired when we returned and it was our last night. Whoever cleaned the room should have figured out what the stench was. We walked around with our shoes like slippers as it came from the carpet.
