Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

The staff that serve as hostesses at the restaurant Mara were extremely rude. They provided incorrect information regarding the reservation that we tried to make at 8:00am which resulted in us not being able to dine. Not worth the money for poor service. I will never return!

I’d love to say a positive thing about this hotel however from the check in to the hotel room to the checkout it was awful. Specifically, the worst part, though was the fact that there was no way to even enjoy the patio because there was a bee hive, the size of a fist with bees swarming all the way around and when I told the front desk they said they will tell the house manager, and that was it no offer to change rooms. There was no I’m sorry, no offer to do anything and I said that we were leaving a day early they just said there’s nothing we can do because it’s already 11 and we can’t clean the room overall would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I have videos of the bees which I showed the front desk and they didn’t even watch it. I’ll gladly attach here.

Check-in was easy and quick. Staff were available to help with any issues whether it be magic band connections or just figuring out what to eat. Pool was always clean and plenty of towels on hand. Had a Savannah room and could see animals all day and even bedded down for the night from our balcony. Even have flamingo pool next to the pool with staff to answer any and all questions about any of the animals!! Close to the parks with free shuttle service to all 4 of them. Only downside of Disney is that they don’t offer any discount on merchandise at hotel or parks for military. Had a wonderful time!!! Great hotel!!

Animal Kingdom hotel and park were expensive but well worth it.

I, personally, think the price is too high…but, I’m not rich, so it affects me, financially. This room was a gift, otherwise, I would have never stayed due to the pricing.

The girl who checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful! She was from Owego, NY which is right where I live. I noticed her name badge instantly. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and quiet at night during my stay. I enjoying viewing the beautiful animals. Thank you!

When you walk in, you have entered Africa. You feel like you are in another world. True Disney style! A wonderful, magical time! Can't wait to return.

There is no microwave in the room

The hallways sometimes looked like they needed to be vacuumed but other than that everything was clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Pool was good for children with the zero entry. The chairs placed around were weird with having to go through specific gates as the path did not fully wind around it. Pillows were outdated and the mattress made you feel like you were sleeping with the fishes on concrete.

We had an amazing stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The property is absolutely beautiful, and seeing the animals roaming the savanna right outside our room was an unforgettable experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make us feel welcome—we can’t wait to return.

Breakfast was disappointing and very expensive. We did not have a reservation and the place was empty. Plenty of tables were available as we watched people being sat down and skipping us. When we sat down it was at a table that no one was sitting before us. So it was available the whole time.

Staff not interested in guest wellbeing - no one at the hotel with any empowerment - we left a day early and won’t be going back

We booked a night at the Lodge last minute due to a travel change (bad weather) and could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out. The property is gorgeous and very well-kept. The staff is so friendly and skilled. We were able to check in early and given a room upgrade at our request. Our room was well-appointed and very clean. The on-property amenities (restaurants, shops, etc.) were truly wonderful. We cannot wait to return.

Staff really seemed miserable. The mara restaurant staff hated their jobs and everyone else. No room service is a major bummer. Paper plates for a resorts?? Yikes.

Only reason I gave it. A three star rating is because the towels are not soft and very rough and toilet paper is single ply like most cheaper hotels. Other than that, it was a beautiful room with a beautiful view of the Savannah.

Wonderful stay!

Pool was cold. Valet did not tell me there was a fee to valet park. Just accepted my keys and let me know how to ask for my car when I needed it again. I found out the next day it was $42 a day. It would have been nice to know before I said yes as I was left under the impression it was complimentary/tip service. They said they would bring our luggage up, but it took over an hour and I had to call twice to ask where it was. I would have brought it myself if I knew it would take that long. Views, cleanliness, food, friendliness, and activities where all great. Was running behind on checkout and the front desk was very understanding and accommodating.

First time staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and we loved it! Everything was wonderful, clean and beautiful! Can’t wait to come back!

We got there really late and didn't get to enjoy much that night because of airline issues, however upon checking out our room- there was white antelope grazing outside our balcony. It was so neat we didn't care about the late night. The next morning we slept in until 9 because we were exhausted, but as soon as my daughter awoke and said there was giraffe outside we were all up and on the balcony. It was one of the neatest places we have stayed- all throught the USA.

Absolutely love Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House. Amazing customer service and the resort is one of our favorites at WDW. We were pixie dusted with an upgrade from resort view to savannah and are currently sitting on our balcony watching giraffes, zebras, antelope, and wild boar.

This was my first time staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have stayed at other Deluxe hotels (Yacht Club, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Grand Floridian) and this was by far the best hotel for theming and attention to detail. It may not be as convenient as other hotels (only bus transportation) but it is worth the stay!

The hotel was great & food was delicious. Loved the animals outside our room patio. The only drawbacks were very cheap toilet paper, towels at pool were extremely small and it would have been nice to have some water bottles on our room as a welcome… even if you charged for them. So e of us travel far and get in late and the store on site is closed and super thirsty.

****Please note that because of the animal's proximity to the Disney fireworks this resort is 15- 20 minutes by Disney bus to MK, Epcot, Disney Springs etc. so prepare accordingly.

I went to have appetizers in the bar and was concerned about cross contamination. The server made arrangements for the allergy chef to come and talk w/me on food prep and was super knowledgeable and understanding. Got a great meal and had no allergy issues. Appreciate their going above and beyond for me.

We had a Savannah view room and it was beautiful. Great experience for the kids and adults to see animals out of the balcony!

The only positive experience we had was with Guest Services when we checked in after that it was horrible. At the gift shop there was no "Hi or thank you" after our purchase it was more like buy and get out type of attitude. In the morning for breakfast the samething no "Good morning or thank you" or acknowledgement that you are there very bad customer service. Then on one of the days we didn't leave the room until later in the afternoon and someone from the hotel came knocking on our door to do a wellness check but she came three times before actually coming in to do a check and by then we were all leaving to go to park. She proceeded to walk through our room but didn't clean it or send someone to come clean it so not sure what the point was of her coming in and just walking through the room. Room wasn't a mess but the one small garbage that was in the room could have been emptied. Hotel is beautiful and aside from the first person who checked us in the other employees we came across need to be trained on customer service or find a different job not customer service based.

Awesome property. We got to stay near the lobby which is definitely a plus. Savanna view rooms are worth every penny in my opinion. Shuttles to all four parks are frequent and direct (no midway stop). We felt like we should but even bother renting a car staying here. Definitely would come back again.

Do not pay club level for this resort, the selections are terrible and the rooms are 15 minute walk from the lounge.

We just got back from a six night stay - amazing!! The resort has all the amenities you need, and waking up to animals right outside your room was a once in a lifetime experience we won't soon forget. Staff was all helpful, clean grounds and we loved the pool!

Beautiful resort with premium beds and bedding and friendly staff. Great pool area and convenient shuttle to the WDW parks. Our room overlooked the Savannah and the zebras were so close we could here them ripping grass when they were grazing.

Such a great place to stay. The beds were so comfy and everything so clean. We saw zebras, giraffes, ostriches, zebras and other animals outside our hotel balcony. My only is is, I wish they had elevators in more than one place. We had to walk sooo far to get to them. Besides that, it was awesome

The property and rooms are great. Housekeeping did a great job with cleaning rooms every other day. Worked out fine. Loved the dining and pool. Transportation was fairly seamless.

Once the pool bar closed due to lightning there was no place to get a drink until 4:00. Need a bar/lounge that opens earlier. We were on vacation and wanted to relax!!

Our room was never cleaned. We had to ask for clean towels twice. Never got the room we requested.

Enjoyed the campfire and roasting marshmallows with the kids. Food not good. Few healthy or vegetarian options for adults and none for kids. Disapponting. Best food was in victoria falls bar.

It was clean and had a friendly staff

The lodge in itself is quite unique and exotic. It is very evident that a lot of effort was put into the concept and design of the it. The rooms were clean, along with the bathroom and shower. Although there were three restaurants within the lodge, the food options was quite sufficient and the breakfast buffet at Boma was delicious! Shuttle bus transportation to and from the hotel to the main parks was very convenient and frequent. Overall, I highly recommend this lodge!

The check in took 3 hours…they booked us in wrong rooms.. our keys didn’t work…Magic bands didn’t work for 2 days. The lobby was underwhelming for Disney….we know the Animals are the big deal but we got there late evening. Rooms very tiny. Beds very hard and uncomfortable. No bed options for young children…they brought bed rails to keep our 2 yr old from falling off bed-but they were broken. I’ve never seen a mini frig that small…several things we bought spoiled. Very limited food options. We did see a lot of animals and the pool was good. We won’t stay here again💔

Great staff and lodge.

You heard everything the noise in the next rooms upstairs they only clean the rooms every other day so the five days I was there our room didn’t get clean! No clean towels !no spa

They treated us very different (worse) than if we booked direct with them. We felt very discriminated against for being loyal to Expedia. We will definitely re-think our decision to book through Expedia based on this treatment. It was a very disappointing trip to say the least.

My only disappointment was I was not a connoisseur of African and Indian Cuisine although they had American offerings I tended to go off property for dinner. Also, you need to make reservations well in advance of your stay if you want to eat there. The savanna views were great and we spent a lot of time watching the animals. Great place to explore something different.

Very nice property, staff very friendly and polite, problem with Disney transportation from Magical Kingdom took way to long for pickup back to hotel had to wait approximately 45 min, more buses to the other hotels but not to Animal Kingdon Lodge.

The lobby of the hotel is impressive. The hotel was pretty booked so the pool was pretty crowded. Most chairs were taken inside the pool area, however thete were several open chairs oitside the pool area if you just eanted to lay out. The wirst was the air condition, it did not get very cool, tge service people came and turned the ac down to 65 degrees but I dont think it came close to that. Made sleeping a bit uncomfortable.

In addition, the bag concierge was ignoring the phones when I called about bringing our bags up, and I went down to find the attendant sitting there on her phone and had to just carry my bags up myself (even more frustrating after tipping the concierge when I dropped our bags off). We also didn't get a crib in the room as requested, and had to wait until almost 9:00 for the crib, and ended up just putting the baby to sleep in our bed. While the property was very nice, calling it an 'Animal Kingdom Lodge' was a stretch. We didn't see a single animal the entire time we were there. The lodge does have a great ambiance and the African inspired buffet was delicious. The pool area was nice and the Maya Cafe was perfect for a quick meal. The Disney Shuttle busses and early access are the real reasons to stay in the Disney Hotels, but I didn't feel this hotel was worth the money.

Beautiful property. Very poor service. Poorly run hotel. Staff were indifferent to slightly confrontational on average. Numerous incidents in our six day stay. Examples. We rented two rooms and woman at the front desk refused to give me a key to the second room since they assign individuals to each room and I was only named on the first room even though I clearly had paid for both and was on the overall reservation. Front desk refused to help my wife locate our sons’ lost shoes by even telling us where lost and found bins were instead saying we’d have to walk around the property to find them. They only cleaned our rooms every other day supposedly for eco reasons including refusing to take out the trash despite them not even using trash bags - clearly a cost cutting move and nothing to do with being eco friendly. They wouldn’t clean the room but instead left us a note asking us to clean a portion of it so they could access it for maintenance during our stay - they should have just waited another day for us to check out and done it on their time rather than on ours. This was the worst service I’ve seen from any hotel in a long time and this one at a luxury priced establishment. We won’t be back!

The resort itself is beautiful. The amenities need some help. Not enough restaurants and not enough food and coffee options for parents.

I have to add that the sheets had DRIED BLOOD on them when we walked in the room. We were tired so we didn't call anyone the first night; hoping that the staff would see the next day when our room was serviced. They didn't service our room while we were out visiting the parks during our entire stay there. Please make note there are AWESOME staff there also: Sanaa - Donna, AJ, Lauren, WOW, WOW WOW...GREAT People. Food here was also GREAT. Dining is everywhere else seemed cafeteria-ish but VERY pricey. Beautiful property, very clean.

Resort was true Disney quality but the added beauty of seeing the animals around every bend and from my own balcony, made it a unique experience of a lifetime.

We paid a lot of money for this hotel room and the air conditioner broke down and they said they replaced it and ot still didnt work. We talked to the front desk four times about the broken air and the lack of cleaning staff and towels and they were not very helpful. It was a sure disappointment and Disney looks like they have lost some of their magic. You might want to wait to go to Disney until their service changes. I know we wont be going back for a long time.

The worst hotel experience in my life. They didnt make the room in 3 days because its their policy… we couldn’t eat breakfast, lunch or dinner in any restaurants of the hotel because everything was overbooked. The check inn was 1.5 hours long. The worst… $550 a night its not worth the bad moments nor the service. Run fast from this hotel.

Beautiful to have the animals there which I do know is the main attraction. But expected more for a 4star Disney resort. Staff was ok accommodations ok. Boma restaurant (dinner & breakfast) ok. I’m blessed to have had the opportunity for our family to experience this but more than likely will not return.

el viernes Febrero 11/2022 cuando llegue al hotel, el security en el gate no me dejo entrar porque dijo no me encontraba registrada en el hotel ,despues de llamar en varias ocasiones a Expedia y al hotel me dejaron pasar alrededor de las 11.00pm,perdi todo un dia ,el cual tuve que pagarle al hotel como si me hubiese pasado alli todas esa horas,solo dormi esa noche,cuando logre entrar tampoco me encontraban ellos dicen fue culpa de Expedia ,resumen fue Horrible Experiencia

They did not provide room service during our stay. When we called late afternoon upon returning from the park, they only provided clean towels. They left them in a bag.

We stayed at the ‘jamba house’. We had a savannah view, the room was clean. The food options on this site were minimal there’s a buffet restaurant and pool side pickup restaurant. You HAVE to make reservations for the buffet through the Disney app. We tried making one with the hostess and they couldn't do it. Space is extremely limited. We weren’t told this. One morning we weren’t able to get a reservation for breakfast and had to use the pool side restaurant. That menu is limited. All the breakfast meats contained pork. The pool was closed because of cold weather and the giraffes weren’t let out because of that also. That was disappointing.

The restaurants are great (although one of them - Jiko - was closed for our visit), the rooms are well appointed and service is excellent. As several reviews of this hotel point out, its only downside is its remoteness from the parks (animal kingdom excepted) but the bus service is frequent. Its takes about 20 mins to get to Magic Kingdom but we never had to wait more than 10 mins for any bus. Almost certainly we will be back!
