Holiday Inn Express Lake Park by IHG

This was the worst hotel, DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I travel quite a bit and have stayed in all types of hotel/motels/cabins/resorts, this was the worst one by far. I don’t need fancy, but I do expect something clean and expect to breathe in clean air. The odor in the room was immediately noticeable and nauseating. The air in the room made you feel sticky, it was disgusting. We asked for another room, they were nice enough to offer us a room directly across from where we were. We went in there before moving our belongings and it smelled the exact same. It seemed like the odor was melted into the carpet. I then looked in the bathroom of our original room and the bath tub was also disgusting. We left and did not stay there. I have never left a hotel because it wasn’t suitable to stay there until this one!! And this was after we had been driving 11 hours with 2 kids and carried our belongs to the room. We just wanted to relax and rest. So you can imagine how bad the odor was. We couldn’t even tough it out for a night. I am disappointed that Hotels.com even had them listed.

Room was nice but had an overpowering smell of cleaning product that gave us headaches. Felt like we were staying in a room that had been covered in bleach (spots could be seen on the wall, mini fridge and trash can liner). We arrived very late and were so tired, we just dealt with it. There was limited parking, so it was suggested we park at the Pizza Hut nearby, but it was a bit of a walk, so we found a spot along the curb outside the hotel. Otherwise the hotel was okay and breakfast was decent.

It was great! Staff were all nice and it was everything I’d hope for in a hotel.

I gave it 1 star because we stopped driving early to watch the Stanley Cup hockey game on ABC. It turns out that they don’t carry basic cable at the hotel. I have never been to a hotel that doesn’t have basic cable. We wasted our time and money on this hotel. Hotel staff seemed to care less about the problem when I talked to them.

The hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was good and offered a variety of options. The pool was dirty during our stay, and the TV had a limited channel selection.

My 7 year old and I were in our swim gear and grabbing a quick breakfast before going out to the pool when this lady grabs my son by his shoulders, and pushes him away from my side, all the way into another room without saying anything to me. I quickly followed and told her that is my son. I found out that it was the employee running breakfast because she started yelling at me about how she was just fined $500 because of people not wearing shoes in the breakfast room. I explained that I didn't even realize that he didn't have shoes on and if I had been told at check in or if there was a sign posted that I would have made sure that he did. She continued to yell at us to the point that my son didn't even want to go swimming because "the mean lady will see him"(the breakfast room has a wall of windows looking into the pool). I told the front desk immediately, and was told that she "might have overstepped" but is usually one of the best employees. We skipped swimming and went back up to our room to change out into regular clothes when I saw the biggest cockroach that I've ever seen crawling on my wash rag from the night before in the shower. I took a picture and showed the front desk lady, as we checked out and was told that they haven't had that problem since the remodel. Very weird place. Just happy that I didn't see the cockroach until the morning, or we wouldn't have been able to sleep. Suprised that I never recieved any communication from the hotel after the issues.

The address of the hotel says downtown but it’s about a ten minute drive. The hotel, especially on the floor my room was on had a strong , bad smell. The room never got cold and the location of the hotel was not in the best area

Staff were very friendly breakfast choices were super quiet environment good pricing loved the shower-only negative- found a roach crawling in the bed prior to leaving desk staff very understanding and supportive.

We didn’t end up staying. There was a large wad of toilet paper in the toilet when we entered the bathroom not sure what was inside that these bathroom faucet was dirty. Hadn’t been cleaned. Noticed the lobby the tile floor had something spilled showing multiple spots on the floor as I got into the elevator the metal walls look like they hadn’t been wiped in months. We didn’t stay. Our reservation was canceled at the hotel we stayed at another IHG property in Valdosta. there was also a funny smell in the lobby area and in the hotel room.

Holiday Inn Express apparently has a contract with DISh. However, dish is not providing an entire group of channels (for instance CBS) although I realize that is not a Holiday Inn problem. I do believe they should tell DISH solve you issues with Gray or move on to another service

Rooms are nice and modern. Housekeeping staff is excellent and friendly, especially the housekeeping manager. Good location with fast food and gas, right off I-75. The housekeeping manager came out to the parking lot to give me the receipt that the desk clerk said was not possible to print. The night staff was excellent when checking in. Terribly rude front desk staff during the morning. Wouldn’t give me a printed folio because I booked through a Booking.com even though I paid at the hotel. Front desk girlr wouldn't even look up from her personal cell phone when I said good morning when coming back from breakfast. She claimed my IHG rewards number wasn’t in the reservation when it was, and didn’t apologize when she realized it was her mistake. The best thing about the HH was the breakfast. Food was good. Breakfast lady was nice & kept it clean. First impression when we walked in was very unfriendly. No hello & could barely hear her mumbling. Then checking out, I reported our toilet was broken when we walked in. We just dealt with it. Kept the back lid off & fixed the chain at every use. No real apology about that - just took the room number. We stayed there going to Florida & then driving home. But sorry that’s our last time. I know it’s hard to find good employees. Too bad.

It all started when I waited for the front desk clerk to wait on me! She was in the back room FaceTiming someone and proceeded to FaceTime while trying to wait on me! It seemed like I was disrupting her and she really didn’t have time to check me in!

The bed was good and our room seemed clean We pulled up to hotel. There were few cars and a car with open doors and people and children hanging out by the front door. We walked in. No one was at the front desk. After a minute or two the girl who was hanging around outside in front of the hotel came in. She did not greet us. She just asked if we were trying to check in. We said yes. She then told us no rooms were ready and don’t come back til 3:00. There were large garbage bags in the main and second floor everywhere. The lobby had a large garbage bin in the middle with the ceiling open and ladders sitting out

Staff was amazing friendly, helpful...so nice. Pool looked clean but didn't use that or fitness center. Breakfast was delicious prepared by them. Exit was not a crowded exit which made it much better to go out to restaurants. Will use again.

I initially had a problem with my room; the blinds did not close all the way. The woman at the front desk took care of it and got me a new room. She was very friendly and accommodating, and the room was very nice, clean, and well decorated.

Our room was very clean and the air quality was great. I can tell right away when I walk into a hotel room if it has been maintained, and this room was VERY clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. We would for sure stay here again.

Check in was easy- the lady was busy but handled it very well. She was very personable! The room was clean, as was the entire hotel. The shower was a little hard to find where hot started without scorching yourself, a very fine line but we figured it out. Breakfast was ok, the usual fair in a hotel. But the kitchen staff was very helpful and I love the coffee machines!

Brand new remodel hotel. We could still smell the new carpet and paint. Easy check in. Breakfast was good. Debbie was very nice and had the breakfast area well stocked and clean. She offered to filled out our ice cooler if we needed it-which we need. Due to the ice dispenser on our floor weren’t working. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Definitely a good place to stay close to the I75 highway and restaurants!

Our room was clean and so was the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Breakfast was included with the stay. The staff that work the morning shift were so kind and friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was that the hot water wasn’t hot. It was warm. Overall, I would stay here again if I were in the area. It’s a few miles from Wild Adventures which is a huge benefit.

You booked my family to a motel that was closed for renovations. After a 13 hour drive we arrive to find the motel was closed. A staff person

There was NO stay because when we arrived at the hotel, there was a note on the front entrance stating: CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are requesting a refund of the $176.35 that was paid at the time of the booking on August 14, 2024.

We showed up to the hotel at 9pm after hours of driving, only to find the hotel was CLOSED. Why couldn't they (or Expedia) notify customers - with reservations - that the place isn't even open?

We traveled 4 hours and when we pulled up the parking lot was empty and a note on door said sorry we are closed.

The property/ hotel was hit hard by the hurricane. I understand that, but what I did not understand. Is why I was never told that they were closed because of the damage. Tell I made the 5 hour trip there and then I found out the they were closed.

They closed and didn’t notify us. We drive up (2 hour drive) and when we got there we were told they won’t reopen until sometime in November. We got there around 6:30 pm. They said we were notified but we hadn’t neither by them or Orbitz of the cancellation. When they found out we had made our reservation through Orbitz, we were told @Oh yeah, we’ve had a few people come to check in today that were through Expedia that we real we hadn’t canceled.” Then I looked at my email and saw they notified me at 5:27 pm the day of the reservation. Check in is anytime after 3pm . We were on the road with small children and had no room when we got there. This is not acceptable. No one who booked through Expedia had been notified. Most hotels in the area were sold out but we did find one because we needed somewhere for the children to rest so we spent $100 more than we had planned. We won’t book here again.

This stay was simply to get a refuge from the tropical storm/hurricane Debby. Staff was great. Room was as we requested since my husband is on oxygen and can't walk far. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was exceptional. My only complaint was the blinds wouldn't open. Manager said the part was ordered to fix it. This will be my go to place from now on

The noise level in the hotel makes it seem like they forgot the soundproofing. Heard loud music, loud stomping footsteps, voices past 10pm and before 7am.

I like Holiday Inn hotels. This one was ok. Great breakfast options and it varies daily. I little crowded during our stay and people stayed in the pool so we didn’t get to use that amenity. Was quiet for the most part during our stay. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 7. That’s because some families are just not mindful of the volume of their conversations moving up and down the hall. But that’s not the hotel’s fault. Overall I’d give the entire experience a 7. It stays crowded here…. Family vacation crowded. It’s my 2nd time staying here and it was the same way the first time. So if it’s just you… or you and a spouse, find somewhere quieter and a little less crowded. Especially if you want to enjoy your breakfast and/or the pool. Other than that, rooms were clean, everything worked, and once your in your room you’ll be fine.

We had a great stay here. The room was very clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good! Marina was the young lady in the breakfast area in the morning keeping things going! She worked very hard to make everything just right and was very kind to everyone.

Mexican place down the road was great. Right off the interstate and was very clean. Only issue we had was a toilet that didn’t flush right but we were only there for a night and it flushed enough that we could get by without calling the front desk.

Room was not clean. Toenail and piece of orange on air conditioner. Carpet badly stained. Bed linens wrinkled so I was concerned they hadn’t been changed with all the other issues. Dusty window surfaces and smudges on counters. Breakfast was cold and dried out. Lots of traffic noise and thin walls. I asked for room change and room was better but hotel needs overhaul in staff, renovation, and regular deep cleaning. I would have left if I could. I will not stay there again and I will seek reviews from multiple sources next time. Holiday Inn has fallen really low.

I like the hotel, it just seems as if, the details are forgotten. Such as drink rings on the night stands, spots on the bathroom mirror, candy wrappers in the elevator. Makes you wonder how clean things are?

It was fine except our room needed a lot of help. The kings were broken and light shined in window all night.Bugs in a Dow seal. Soap for shower was about to fall off wall. The room needs some help I was a service excellent advisor for a hospitals d felt this needed addressed.The hotel other wise was very nice. They were full and didn’t have another room for us. Everything about the hotel was great. It was just unfortunate there were a group of men that came in around 12:30 AM and kept going in and out of their room and slamming their doors and talking very loudly with each other for a few hours. Not the hotels fault by any means but just made for a long night.

The check in was very easy. The room was very clean and the property was convenient to eating.

Please note, I do understand that since COVID a lot of policies have changed in hotels. However, you could have still cleaned the rest of my room and bathroom while still providing fresh towels and sheets. This is the first bad experience I’ve had at this holiday inn and we’ve stayed here several times before.

Close to expressway. Easy on and off. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is better than most.

The entry/exit to property was a bit challenging

For only being an average to above average hotel, they should have offered a free Bird breakfast, like every other average, or above average hotel. Was very disappointed in that it seems to be a hotel that needs to be renovated soon, but it was clean and comfortable.

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially in the breakfast room! Our king size room had a comfy chaise longe as well as space to put two open suitcases. We slept well and were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and those cinnamon rolls can't be beat!

The breakfast had several options and was pretty good overall. The lady at the front desk was really nice and pleasant. We would stay there again.

No TV signal in room toilet flushing issue

Television didn’t have any service the whole two nights stay

This staff was very friendly!! The young lady in charge of breakfast was super sweet!! The only negative I have is that the TV’s were not working and they had dehumidifiers running in the hallways. We would still stay here again despite those cons bc the staff went above and beyond for their guests <3
