Reviews
The hotel has received mixed reviews, with guests praising the cleanliness, location, and friendly staff, but also expressing disappointment with false fire alarms, parking fees, and limited breakfast options. Some guests have reported issues with the pool, elevator, and room readiness upon check-in.
- Clean and spacious rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- False fire alarms causing disruption
- Parking fees are high and not clearly communicated

Great staff and was clean
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Parking fees too high.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing, breakfast, location, staff, cleanliness etc!!!!!
- 5/5
My family and I stayed in a room with a view of the water, which was great! Our room was very clean! The bathroom was a little outdated, but it was clean. The room was so spacious! The staff were so friendly too!! My only complaint would be the pillows. They were very uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything was great!
- 5/5
I was frustrated about the high parking cost: $100 is not what I was expecting.
- 5/5
The staff was nice and friendly the room was nice and clean the breakfast was very good. My family enjoy the stay

- 4/5
I like the options between nonpork and pork for breakfast. Makes everyone feel included. The second day the breakfast was all pork options and we could not eat
- 3/5
Overall, our stay was satisfactory, and we appreciated how friendly and helpful the staff was. Unfortunately, the bathroom in our room had a very strong mold smell. The odor was so noticeable that we needed to keep the bathroom door closed and the windows open throughout our stay just to make the room tolerable for sleeping.
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
Room had a smell to it. Furniture looks well used. Not the cleanest feeling walking in. Carpets coming apart. Staff was nice. We felt the only good thing about staying was the breakfast. Not what I was expecting for the price. Probably would not stay here again
- 5/5
Complimentary breakfast was good. Location was nice especially if you like to go fishing on the shore. Room was spacious.

- 5/5
Amazing hotel. Perfect for those going on a cruise. Great breakfast. Nice staff. Beautiful rooms. Only complaint was the fan/heat/AC was noisy in our room.
- 3/5
I was disappointed as the website was a bit misleading as far as “two restaurants: They have a buffet in the lobby for am breakfast, and the other was a walk in area with snacks.
- 4/5
Good Stay, great breakfast, parking fees were a bit high, but overall very good stay.
- 5/5
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a great and welcoming front desk staff. The hotel was in a great location with wonderful views. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The morning breakfast had great options and was very convenient for our family. We would definitely be staying here again.

The staff is so welcoming and amazing at this hotel. Great for families
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and hotel was clean and centrally located. Great view of the Queen Mary!
- 5/5
Always clean and nice The property was fine the only problem was we had a hard time sleeping because our AC was very loud the whole night kicking off and on and constantly rattling. Also out would be nice of the pool was heated as well. Each time we’ve stayed here it’s too cold to get in.

Basic but sufficient. Breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast - fake eggs, waffles, bagels. Washer and dryer were nice to have although they should have been complimentary. $3.50 just to run a washing machine is excessive. No reasonably priced food options within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable I will stay again if needed we had everything we needed
- 5/5
The staff was amazing

The staff was amazing
- 4/5
The employees were excellent, but this hotel appears to be struggling in this economy. Linen for the foldout couch had seen better days, and we were asked to make up the bed ourselves. Like many hotels now, fewer people are handling more responsibilities. But they were very friendly and I would be willing to stay there again.
- 5/5
Very nice beds
- 4/5
Free breakfast
- 5/5
Staff was amazing the frint desk ladie at night with glasses is hands down the best. Made us feel very welcome and helped us without hesitation
- 5/5
The breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and staff was excellent. There is a parking cost of $42 per night that people need to be aware.

Breakfast had many options. Hotel location close to cruise port. Pillows worn and lumpy. Bed hard and uncomfortable. Free shuttle service not available to cruise port or airport. Have to Uber or taxi to locations if no rental car.

Best Hotel Ive stayed at so far. Breakfast was great, the views from my room 817 were awesome, room was super clean and stayed cool all 4 days and nights. my stay was worth every penny.
- 5/5
Loved there was a full kitchen in the room and a wonderful free breakfast
- 5/5
There is no place to eat!
- 4/5
Staff was great, especially Jocelyn.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and the room was beautiful.
- 5/5
Rooms and staff were great but was bummed on the limited amenities, not even an onsite restaurant. Also quite far from local options
- 5/5
The staff were amazing! They anticipated our needs and were so helpful and kind!
- 3/5
Location is not wallking distance to shoreline drive and the area feels unsafe.
- 5/5
Great hotel. The room is spacious and well appointed, staff is great and the breakfast was very nice.
- 3/5
The property was okay, well maintained. Needs modern updates. Would be great if the pool was heated.
- 4/5
Everything was great except for the bed. Way too soft. Very uncomfortable and not good for your back.
- 5/5
Everyone at this location was nice. Beautiful scenery’s and if you like to walk or have a pet this hotel is for you. Big long walk way by the river bank. Location was very clean and rooms are huge! I will comeback again here
- 5/5
Absolutely enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect for what we had planned for the day. It’s right down the street from the Queen Mary and the drive to downtown is very easy. The walk to downtown is longer than 15 minutes which was the only disappointment but other than that we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Ashley and all the staff went above and beyond
- 5/5
The staff was helpful, friendly and kind.
- 5/5
Clean staff was friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay. Rooms and property are very nice and view is amazing. I would have liked to have Keurig coffee machine in the room.
- 3/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly, room was clean, BUT, the room needed an overhaul, the wood furniture was definitely in need of replacing. Other than that, for the price point it was worth it for a one night stay.
- 3/5
Website says 24 hour coffee and that’s a big NOT AT ALL Advertise restaurant on property when booking and there was none, only the free breakfast times
- 4/5
Yes, pet friendly and clean room,

The front desk clerk Joanne was amazing. She provided the best customer service I’ve ever received at any hotel.

Wonderful location near cruise port. Walk along path all the way to Queen Mary or cruise! I did it in a wheelchair so you can easily! great people at front desk. So helpful and kind. Everyone was dedicated to top notch customer service. Good hot breakfast with attentive staff. Pool was a bit too cold, but hot tub was nice Highly recommend! OLDFOLKTRAVEL Li and Ed

Yes!!!! Very clean.
- 5/5
Beautiful. Enjoyed watching the sunrise over The queen mary straight from Our big hotel windows. Great breakfast as well with kosher breakfast options such as OU bagels, cream cheese spreads, cereal, milk, juice, Coffee, and make your own waffles. Great mini vacay for anyone living in LA.
- 5/5
Our room is very clean and so was the pool area. The staff was very accommodating.
- 5/5
Good sized rooms, great free breakfast and outstanding view of Long Beach, Queen Mary and cruise ship port.
- 5/5
Fast friendly service
- 5/5
Clean room …felt safe…accommodating staff… great breakfast
- 5/5
The room was spacious and well supplied. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I was very impressed with the breakfast. Excellent variety with healthy choices.
- 5/5
Wish I was staying longer than a night. The room was clean and spacious with a clean kitchenette, stocked everything you would need to cook a homecooked meal. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. The linens smelled so nice too. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, and happy to help! Breakfast was really yummy too!
- 5/5
Toilet had urine in it but everything else was clean
- 5/5
The breakfast was great! Lots of options, including vegetarian ones, and the food was tasty. The room was very clean. The staff was helpful.
- 4/5
I had a great stay at the Residence Inn Downtown Long Beach, highlighted by exceptional service. The gentleman at check-in was seamless, and the security guard went above and beyond by helping me with my luggage. I loved the room’s kitchenette and large desk, and the ease of parking was a huge bonus. However, be aware that the bathroom door design is quite annoying, and the hotel lacks room service and basic vanity items like Q-tips or shower caps. Great for service and location, just bring your own toiletries!
- 5/5
Beautiful location and walking distance to many restaurants and entertainment.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Perect
- 5/5
Room was perfect
- 4/5
Our room was clean and the staff was very helpful and cheerful. The venue itself wasn’t anything outstanding, but the inclusion of a pool and hot tub was nice. The hot tub jets unfortunately were not operational. The included breakfast left a little bit to be desired, but not unexpected for a venue in this category. The location was excellent.
- 5/5
Lobby was well furnished, and the service was good . Very clean room Good job guys
- 1/5
First they charging $38.00dls.every night.then if you come back late night at the hotel you can't not find a parking lot.

- 3/5
They charge for parking $38 for weekdays and $100 on weekends. Which was RIDICULOUS. Stayed 3 days and was charged an extra $400 on top of the $1400 room. Rip off. Stayed for an event at the queen marry and for its location to it but should’ve rented an airbnb for the amount they charge for 3 days
- 5/5
Extremely friendly staff with very clean room
- 5/5
Love the whole experience
- 5/5
Last minute reservation. They accommodated me quickly and efficiently.
- 5/5
Great breakfast
- 3/5
Coffee maker was broken otherwise everything good
- 5/5
Nothing short of fantastic. The folks at the front desk were nicer than I could ever expected. Greeted me right away. Offered me water and checked me in early with no drama. They could not have done better! Super clean facility. Super clean, well maintained rooms.
- 5/5

2 kinds of sausage with eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, and cereal for breakfast. Staff was very nice and helpful.
- 4/5
The view from the bridge is nice
- 5/5
Staff were really friendly, the room was very clean and organized. The only thing that took me by surprise was having to pay parking per day, and it is a small parking lot.
- 5/5
Great rom. Clean and spacious.

- 5/5
Very clean and organized room & the receptionists were very nice
- 4/5
They really need to provide a shuttle to and from the cruise port about 1.1 miles away. Maid did not remove an empty Cheetos bag left under the sink by prior guest. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I won't stay here again without a shuttle.
- 5/5
Very convenient
- 5/5
Staff is vey friendly and available any time. I always enjoy my stay here in Long Beach
- 3/5
The breakfast was very limit and the food was not warm
- 5/5
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was good, but needs more choices. The hotel does NOT have a shuttle to the airport or the cruise terminal. $38/night for parking is excessive considering the room rates.
- 5/5
I love how the rooms are individual rooms, so you have your own privacy, amazing hotel, I will be back
- 5/5
Nice stay again.
- 5/5
Very nice and didn’t realize it had a full kitchen . Added bonus
- 5/5
I really like the comfortable feel here and the staff is great!!! They are pleasant and helpful.
- 4/5
Trip was previously planned, didn't have time to experience the pool, but did view. Breakfast had too many carbohydrate food items that people with health special diets shouldn't eat. Being a diabetic, your choices for my diet was, oatmeal, with most available toppings could be eaten, scrambled eggs, some of the fresh fruit. All 6 of my grand children loved the breakfast choices.
- 5/5
Beautiful views
- 5/5
We honestly loved everything about this property. Very convenient to walk to the queen mary and so close to everything. The room was clean and very comfortable to relax in. Over all experience was amazing.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
I really like this hotel, the service was friendly, the hotel was quiet and a good location near the Queen Mary and right on the water. The free breakfast was also great!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
There is an easy walking path over the bridge right to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and a free bus, Passport, that takes you to and from downtown. The complimentary breakfast was very fresh.
- 4/5
Factoring in another 40 bucks a night, I could have stayed in a nicer hotel.
- 5/5
We booked a one-night stay before embarking on our cruise. We took a Lyft from LAX. It dropped us right at the front door. Check-in was smooth and the front desk employee was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well-appointed, and had a beautiful view. We ordered delicious pasta from Big E pizza based on an employee's recommendation. The breakfast had great variety and was good. Check-out was smooth. They were able to break some larger bills for me at the front desk for tipping on the cruise ship. We took the walking path rather than using a ride share. It is mostly a beautiful paved sidewalk along the water and others were doing the same. There are some parking lots to cross. It was doable. Realistic expectations: the sofa bed is a sofa bed. It's not anything to rave about, but works for one night. There is not a lot of shopping on this side of the bridge or restaurants that deliver nearby if you have no vehicle. You can have food delivered for a fee. I would book Residence Inn again if we do another Long Beach cruise.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Love LBC and love this hotel
- 4/5
Ourdoor mall convenience wirh food trucks. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is amazing 👏
- 5/5
Very nice and comfy!!
- 2/5
The view wasn’t what’s pictured. When we got to our room the entire floor smelled like rotten fish. We requested to be on a different floor because of the smell. They gave us another room but with zero view. The hot tub had a homeless lady bathing herself in it. I know there are homeless and there’s nothing they can do about that but downgrading our room and having a homeless lady join us in the hot tub wasn’t a highlight. The breakfast was good and parking was easy.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, clean and quiet, beautiful view from the room. Walkable to the Queen Mary and cruise ports.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was extraordinary and the spirit of the staff was welcoming. The breakfast was amazing. The only negative thing I could express is the cost of parking should be included in the price of the stay. That is just me of my pet peeves. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Bring your money, the surrounding restaurants were pricey.
- 5/5
Awesome plce to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
We like the breakfast buffet a lot. Employees are wonderful.
- 5/5
The property was located at a great spot for my vacation needs. The staff was friendly.
- 5/5
The ladies up at the front were an absilute joy. Very courteous and very professional. They were exceptional. Best customer service Ive had in a long time.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice and welcoming. If I needed anything, the staff was right there and willing to help! The hotel should consider adding shuttle service to Shoreline Village and Queen Mary, but that did not detract
- 5/5
After getting off Cruise, we came in at 10 AM just to drop off our luggage and they were able to check us in and give us our room amazing
- 1/5
Fully booked/no available room, but I made my reservation a month or two before August 15, 2025. We are two elderly grandmas in a family trip, and this hotel ruined it! Never ever again for this hotel! We felt we were age discriminated by this hotel because our kids and our grandkids got a room, but we did not! Never trust this hotel!
- 3/5
Pet friendly hotel means they have pet guests in all the floors. My guest next door was a chipper all night and when other guest walked by the door. The views, area, pool and complimentary breakfast were great.
- 5/5
The hotel and ground were clean and in great condition. Our room was spotless and the amenities were plentiful. The staff were all very nice and friendly. Plenty of parking though the price was a bit steep. Queen Mary is walking distance. Overall we would stay again.
- 1/5
We had protesters outside our building, because, they said ICE were staying there. It was noisy into the early morning. I did not get alot of sleep. I feel I should be compensated or given a room credit . I have a video and I wish I could attach it.
- 4/5
Hot breakfast Pleasant and courteous staff.
- 4/5
The food was fantastic and the furnishings/room was pretty good. However, there was no room service in between the days
- 5/5
Well maintained. Very clean.
- 2/5
Hotel is in a pretty desolate area next to boat docks. There are many transient people in the area so be extra careful when leaving the hotel grounds. Parking at night is horrible! Parking spots only fit a small compact car. They have overflow parking that is pretty far and dark so don’t go alone. A car was stolen right out of the parking lot when we were there! So we returned to police activity and crying guests. They lock the doors to the hotel at 10pm, and I see why but hire security don’t make guests feel like prisoners! We couldn’t get in when we came because of this and the guy at the counter acted like he didn’t even want to open the doors. So the guests began banging on the doors and he reluctantly opened the doors stating they lock at 10pm. How GHETTO! Boat docks get pretty rowdy so if your room faces the docks be prepared for loud noise ALL NIGHT! Helicopter, people fighting, water police on their bull horns, sirens, you name it…ALL NIGHT! Inside rooms are smaller than normal and pretty worn for what I thought was a newer hotel. Peeling in the shower, sink stopped up, and scuffing on the walls and doors. Gym equipment was pretty good but there was a leak in the ceiling so a bucket was set up to catch water. Pool is nice although I didn’t get in. Breakfast was pretty basic nothing special except they had a “tip cup” I’ve never seen before. I will never stay here again.
- 5/5
Nice views of downtown from the hotel and friendly staff
- 1/5
The hotel is right next the the boats loading docks and people were parting all night long. Muaic blaring until about 5 am. If you are wanting to get no sleep this is the place to stay.for $350 a night I expected better
- 1/5
I reserved a one bedroom with a pull out bed in the living room to accommodate 3 people. Once i arrived they told me my room was given to public housing and i would need to stay in a studio. They then have another excuse that the room was under construction. It was a take it or leave it situation. Since we were out of town we had to take it. Completely ruined our trip and i have no confidence in this hotel or your company anymore.
- 5/5
All good.
- 3/5
Overall it was an okay experience. We noticed that there were ants in the bathtub and bathroom sink. Im sure there needs to be more pest control in the hotel. The mattress was too hard on my back. Also the shower curtain seriously needed to be replaced as it was gross with red mold.
- 4/5
The breakfast was outstanding and had such a variety of items to choose from. The rooms are looking a little run down but our views were the best. We did have a few ants in our bathroom, kitchen and bedroom side table.
- 5/5
Property was very respectful. Front desk was super nice.
- 5/5
The hotel had a beautiful view and a clean room. The staff was friendly and helpful, making my stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Stayed to attend warped tour, we walked to the venue (15-20min) and felt so secure in the area - lovely atmosphere & very friendly staff upon arrival.
- 5/5
All of the staff members were extremely friendly, even to saying hello while passing by. As far as hotel breakfasts go, this has been by far the most efficient and delicious we have had, with lots of options available for those who have allergies. The rooms were well stocked if you’re needing to stay for more than a weekend, and plenty of room for two. It was also only a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Long Beach, which saves on travel fare. So worth it!
- 5/5
Load and unload their boats. Very comfortable and felt safe and staff was always amazing. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable and would definitely stay again. We recommend this spot !
- 5/5
The rooms are beautifully done and clean, service is amazing, the snack area is charged to your room which is incredibly convenient and staff was incredibly nice! Would come back again
- 5/5
The staff in front desk was very nice and helpful we got there very early and we where help to get in room to relax very thankful next I’m staying there again
- 5/5
The complete staff is awesome helpful and politely friendly. Food up to par and efficient. Always enjoy staying here.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the stay and it was in a great location.
- 5/5
I
- 5/5
Hotel and breakfast were very good, personal at desk were friendly, helpful and helpful knowledgeable! My only concern is the hotel changed the price of overnight parking from $35 to $ 100 because of events in the area. For a $100 a night I could afford a wash and wax job plus valai service
- 5/5
great place
- 2/5
Stayed here for one night on a Saturday night and I don’t know if this happens often or not but there is a parking lot and public boat ramp literally right next to the hotel, late into the night until about 1 am there were a lot of cars ( completely packed) hanging out, revving their engines, playing music crazy loud and even setting off fireworks. We did not sleep well at all and although the hotel itself was very nice I would never chance this happening again and would not stay here again. Without that problem the location to downtown and the carnival terminal were great. It’s really too bad.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, fun to walk to the Queen Mary and into downtown unless there is a festival going on and the sidewalks are blocked. We booked this hotel for the purpose of being walkable so that was unexpected.
- 4/5
The door is hard to open/close. Bathroom door is also having this issue
- 5/5
Close to shopping and port. Downside is that they charge for parking.
- 5/5
Extraordinary customer service! Beautiful outdoor pool area. Wonderful room with a full kitchen. Very clean, also.
- 1/5
Our car was stolen out of the “secured” parking lot. The staff was not helpful when we brought it their attention. Very disappointing.
- 4/5
Very good for a one night stay before our cruise. We had a 2 bedroom which was great for our family of 5. Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices. But there is nothing else around within walking distance for food. So plan to Uber or DoorDash.
- 5/5
Great!
- 4/5
Great stay.
- 4/5
Rooms were spacious and clean. It is difficult to get to by car, forget about walking anywhere. Breakfast was boring.
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my stay. The staff was so helpfull, and property was clean and well maintained.
- 5/5
Great location! Friendly staff, and super comfortable rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Long Beach, CA.
- 5/5
Great location Spacious and clean room Great breakfast
- 3/5
The pool was not as nice as the photos. We were not able to enjoy it as there was a huge party in the hot tub for hours (3pm-closing). Drinking hard alcohol in glass bottles, eating in the hot tub, loud music and as you can imagine, they were very loud as well. It made my three teenage daughters uncomfortable and we had to leave the pool. We thought we would try to come back after we ate dinner, but sadly they were still there. The hotel doesn’t not clean/refresh the rooms daily. Which I find frustrating, as hotel fees go up in price, parking fees ect… you now get less customer service. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s very difficult to get ice, there isn’t an ice machine and I had to wait awhile for the front desk to get it or be sent to ask the kitchen ect… I ran out of hot water one day. The dishwasher leaked all over the room when I ran it. I asked for pool towels as there were none by the pool, and I was told there were none clean. I then asked for a room towel and was told they aren’t supposed give them out for the pool.
- 4/5
The property is close to the cruise terminal and easy to get to. I was quite surprised that due to their proximity, they don't have a shuttle to/from the terminal. Overall it was a good experience.
- 5/5
All around I would say our trip was awesome! The front desk staff were amazing and always helpful. However the $38 dollars a night for parking is a bit outrageous in my opinion. The guys who go out at 10pm to tell guests the pool is closed could be more polite they were very rude about it. We had already started getting out no need for the rudeness. But other than that everything was great.
- 5/5
Breakfast was good Every room has a view of the water - corner rooms are the best for views Parking is expensive at $38 a night Otherwise, I would recommend

Overall the property is nice, clean and seams to be maintained in good condition but parking is scarce hard to find or to far no other available access.

we were able to get an early check-in and the staff were friendly and helpful the entire day. Our room was clean and spacious and well equipped with dishes, coffee and icemaker. Beautiful water views and you can cross the bridge on the potassium pathway with easy access to the convention center, shopping and restaurants.

A little.off the beaten path. Nice staff and building. Have to pau for parking and the lot is not very big. We parked in overflow, which was not worth the $$.

Hotel staff were accommodating and pleasant. You need transportation and parking fees are high.
