Poorly appointed and poorly laid out lobby, boring bar. The espresso maker was broken, and had been broken for a while according to the staff. And the milk for the coffee could not be warmed for unintelligible reasons.Seems that Management is not very good at making this into a good experience.

From the moment you pull up to the valet until you leave, everything is handled with ease, and the staff are genuinely engaged and friendly. They help you immediately with your luggage, and as they see you to your room, there is a warmth that feels natural and unforced, as though you have been invited into someone’s home. They offer a very generous gift card to use at the hotel, which sets the tone from the start. When you walk into the room, the first thing you notice is the size. The rooms are unbelievably large for Los Angeles, and they are filled with light from large sliding glass doors that open to a small balcony, offering a wide, open view of the harbor. Wood floors instead of wall-to-wall carpet make it feel especially clean, and everything is modern, well-designed, and easy to use. There are no scuff marks, no damage, nothing overlooked. You have all the amenities, a proper desk setup, charging stations, a coffee machine, and large, spotless bathrooms that are in perfect condition. I can stay anywhere in Los Angeles, but I choose to stay here because they make you feel at home and welcome. Nothing.

The location was great for walking around the marina and to restaurants. The lobby and patio were inviting. But what made the visit unique was the very friendly staff. They really seemed to WANT to please us and make our stay special.

The quality is consistently good, the rooms are nice and comfortable, and the view is fantastic, but they've outsourced the valet service to a private company, and the daily fee of 78 USD is excessive. If you don't use the valet service, they won't let you into the hotel's car park either; they tell you to go to the public car park by the beach, which is unacceptable.

Great check in experience - my Ambassador status with Marriott was not only recognized but benefits were offered as well. Friendly staff. Good location walking distance to Venice Beach.
- 3/5
I was given a room for a person who isdisabled. The bed was close to the floor, horrible room. It was obvious that I was not disabled. I tried to call down to get the room changed and the went straight to an 800 number. Finally, got the valet staff to call the ftont desk. Never answeed the phone. Had to drag my luggage downstairs to get a room change. No apologies were issued. Staff is lazy. Valent staff was great. Also, the hotel does not sit right on the pier or beach, pictures very deceiving. Beach area a good 2 miles.
- 5/5
Rooms are clean

Not exactly a beach—it’s a marina. Room service ok but there should be more food options—it feels meager for a large chain hotel, and it should be 24 hours! Staff friendly. Excellent housekeeping service and staff.

It’s my new but solid favorite hotel in LA. From the greeting at the door Saul, Cesar, and Adrian look after you - not just the car or baggage - they are the ambassadors of good will… That stood out as my “experience” started out rough. I was driving to the hotel and was surprised to see the 400PM check in. So I hoped to see if I could check in at the typical 300PM time. I got connected to Blanca and that was a descent into hell. I told her my name but also let her know that Booking.com frequently put my reservation under my name but added my middle initial to the beginning of my last name. She was very quick to tell me I didn’t have a reservation over and over. So while I’m on the highway driving around LA I’m having to find my reservation and repeatedly giving it to her. She’s adamant I don’t have a reservation and very dismissive… she wasn’t going to help me but insisting the reservation must start with a number 9… even though it didn’t. It wasn’t like hitting my head on a brick wall…. It was like having someone grab your head and bang it over and over against a wall. She’s not moving off the place of telling me that I don’t have a reservation so I asked her to connect me with a manager. She puts me on hold. Twenty minutes later I hang up and redial. I have to go through the AI prompting system and then talk with Ryan and he’s an angel. He’s going to make it all good ( and yes the rest reservation was under my name but with my middle initial added on at the beginnig) and that’s where it all turned around. Ryan was charming, listened well, corrected that I did have a reservation and was wonderful. That’s when it all turned around. Adrianna at check-in was so welcoming and quickly got me my room and my bags came up to the room deposit them being very busy! Blanca

The location just next to the ocean was great. Moreover, the property itself is nice generally-speaking. One thing that bothered me is that basically nothing could be delivered to my room. For example, with laundry I had to deliver it and pick it up at the front desk. Honestly-speaking, I don't stay at nicer hotels to pick up my own clothes and drop them off at the front desk. The fact that the manager couldn't find a work around for this type of issue is somewhat mindboggling to me.
- 5/5
Great front desk staff
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Hair dryer not strong.
- 5/5
I have stayed here 8 times now on each vacation to LA. I love this hotel and everyone who works there is awesome. Fabian and Christian at the sinder bar are very cool. Caesar and Saul in valet are excellent. Jason the manager is very kind as well. Can't say enough about this place. The location is amazing. Rooms are great. I love it and will absolutely be staying here again
- 3.5/5
They kept it clean. Good breakfast 1. AC was not good. It felt like our room could never cool down. Always hot and made for uncomfortable nights. 2. No pool rules. Me and my husband went into pool area just for kids to be running back and forth from pool to jacuzzi splashing everyone, yelling. Not to mention the employee brining food out to the jacuzzi area to talk with someone who seemed like a friend or boyfriend that shouldn’t have been there. The entire experience was very strange and would be happy to go into it further over the phone
- 3.5/5
No parking, some staff were hard to talk to.

Great hotel and area

Easy walk to beach. Quick drive to shopping. Nice amenities like free paddleboard and bike rentals.
- 5/5
The hotel staff were very professional and the area around the hotel offered a variety of food choices.
- 5/5
Loved location
- 5/5
Great location to Mother beach across the street...take advantage of the paddleboarding (this was complimentary but you need to get the coupon code from the front desk and reserve online). Venice beach is a bit farther to walk, but very doable or rent a bike from the hotel, dont forget to ask for your beach pack, it said it comes with waters and a snack (ours didnt have any snack) there was chapstick and sun block. The hotel has beach mats you can checkout, very handy. There are several restaurants to choose from. We found a great breakfast place around the block with pressed juices and also for a quick inexpensive breakfast there is a bagel spot next door.
- 5/5
Great location on the bay. Nice pool and spa area. Large rooms. We had access to the M Club as part of our room, which provided a breakfast buffet daily and appetizers 5 nights a week.

Nice location near the marina. Short walk to Venice Beach. Great pool area. Several restaurants in the area.
- 5/5
Clean, good staff, amazing marina view
- 3/5
Basic hotel; tiny shower. Charges a resort fee but partially can be used on restaurant or local attractions. I do not think it can be considered a “resort” and therefore feel the charge is unnecessary.
- 1/5
The smell of the bathroom was so strong we could smell it while in bed. The feeling was of a not so clean room though bedsheets where fresh
- 5/5
The property was very clean and well kept! The atmosphere at sinder was cozy. Would definitely recommend staying here in the future The cost of valet was a little pricey $57 dollar a night
- 5/5
Clean and the pool/ hot tub were clean and a nice amenity

- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with an amazing cleaning crew. Loved the proximity to Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier. Will absolutely stay here again.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice & helpful. As with any hotel, the parking process is not good. I find it interesting that the hotel industry does not address this issue. To negatively effect a customer's experience over a simple thing like parking is silly. To charge a customer an additional $50 a night to "store" their car is ridiculous. A simple way to differentiate within your industry, would be to make the parking process simple & safe.
- 5/5
Beautiful and comfortable hotel
- 1/5
The swimming pool and Jacuzzi is broken. We can’t use those facilities.
- 5/5
Ok
- 4/5
They charge a 30 dollar a day " resort fee" so be prepared
- 5/5
Wonderful!
- 5/5
Great property but if your room has a marina view the street below can be a little loud.
- 1/5
Secondly, this hotel also has a $30 daily resort charge that has to be used on property for food or beverage. We checked in late Friday and had missed dinner / bar and was told that it had to be used that night. So we lost out and just had to pay the fee. The other days at breakfast the food was not good and our orders had to be sent back bc they were not correct or were burned. Additionally, there was only one server on hand so everything is slow. Finally, ironically they never cleaned our room the first two days even though we didn’t have a do not disturb sign out and apparently on the final day when they did finally clean the room they stole my purse. Overall, this was a horrible experience and I would not stay there again.
- 1/5
Also, they have this $30 daily resort fee requiring you to spend that each day on food or drinks. We checked in late Friday evening and had missed dinner / were told that we would just have to eat that day’s fee as it has to spent that day. We found out later from another family member that we could have used it for breakfast and was given bad information and forced to eat the fee/. Also, when we did eat breakfast the other days the food is terrible (order was wrong multiple times, we had to send back one meal for being undercooked and another one was burnt) and a huge waste of money. Also there is only one server at breakfast so everything is very slow (she was lovely and trying her best), but when you basically mandate that everyone has to eat at the hotel you need to staff for it. Finally they did not clean our room the first two days, not sure why. We did not have the do not disturb on the door. Anyways, when they did clean our room the last day that is when my bag got stolen.
- 3/5
Lack of free wifi is ridiculous
- 5/5
Wonderful experience
- 2/5
Marriot is overall do not deserve any star ratings, rest rooms are small and not convenient for family use
- 5/5
EXCELLENT STAY ALL THE WAY AROUND. ZERO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!
- 4/5
Outside of the hotel there is nothing local to walk to. You can walk to a sand part by the beach if you go one block up and over, and there is a sidewalk along where all the boats are parked. That was the only thing we could find that was semi safe at night. They have so many hidden charges at this location too so make sure you questions everything. The breakfast seemed like it was already prepared and plated did not seem fresh or warm. Was not bad but did not come off the griddle that is for sure.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel.
- 4/5
I liked that the location was conveniently close to all my planned activities. I was also pleased to enjoy the comfort I'm used to experiencing during a Marriott stay.
- 3/5
It was a nice stay, however it was our 10 year anniversary and wanted my wife to sleep in a little more and maybe have an extra hour to check out. Meaning checking out at 12pm instead of 11am. I called front desk and asked if that was possible and they said no because they were fully booked and needed us to check out by 11am. I thought it was BS because the following day was a Monday.
- 5/5
Excellent property and staff.
- 3/5
Hotel is just unnecessarily over priced on everything. Food. Drink. Tips.
- 5/5
Great property and location!
- 5/5
It was wonderful
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, convenient location to Marina Del Rey and Venice Beach. Room was comfortable and clean. Fast and easy Valet parking. The Breakfast was very good, I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.
- 5/5
Great location across the street from the water. We enjoyed the M level access to breakfast and appetizers. All staff were friendly from the valets to the bartender. We would stay here again.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. Every staff member was very gracious and helpful from the front staff and concierge to the bar and restaurant staff. Highly recommended your lovely facility and will definitely visit again!

- 5/5
All the staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. I was there to move my daughter back to LMU and this hotel was very adequately priced, great location, could walk to a few restaurants- nice courtyard to sit in for early morning coffee. Rooms were clean and spacious- and great view of pacific from city view side. Would definitely stay here again when visiting my daughter at college.

I enjoyed the the food at the restaurant and easy walk Venice Beach. And convenient to shopping and restaurants
- 5/5
Our flight was cancelled due to the crowdstrike debacle so we looked for an hour for a nice property not far from the airport and with places to walk nearby. This is a great property. The staff is super friendly, the room was spacious and clean, bathroom seemed newly remodeled. My wife, kids and I used the pool and hot tub. We also spent a few hours in the beach across the street, the hotel gave us some beach toys and a blanket plus free paddle boarding. There is plenty of food nearby, a nice market behind it and it’s an easy walk to Venice.
- 4/5
Outdated but good
- 5/5
We were very happy with our stay. We were there for five days. The cleanliness and the supply of towels was extraordinary. The room was clean all the time. It was a 15-minute walk from the beach. Thank you very much and I recommend it.
- 5/5
Lovely location across from a beach and boat docks. Upscale hotel. Rooms were well laid out, beds comfy. Spacious lobby incorporating restaurant. Food was good but expensive.
- 5/5
Good option for Venice area
- 5/5
Beautiful family hotel I loved it pool and hot tub where amazing
- 5/5
The lobby was nice and the ice cold water with lemon. Hits the spot when you have been traveling all day.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed the amenities, cleanliness, and modern feel of the hotel. The staff were all kind and helpful.
- 2/5
The room was overpriced. Room service was tacky, delivered in a paper bag with plastic utensils. The property doesn’t have much outdoor space. Valet parking is overpriced. The housekeeping staff cleaned the room thoroughly, much better than at most places I’ve stayed. Overall it just wasn’t worth the money.
- 4/5
Interior structure and the view.
- 5/5
My stay here is always amazing.
- 5/5
Beautiful views. Great service.
- 5/5
Right across the harbor; beautiful sunset
- 2/5
Our stay was not good. Our room was dirty. The drawers were dirty, there was food on the floor, a dirty hand print on the ceiling, a used water bottle by the coffee station and the bathroom was not clean. When we asked the hotel to come and clean the room, two hours later someone came and dropped off towels and water. I would not recommend staying there.
- 1/5
Went for a beach weekend getaway, Beach was closed due to sewage spill. Did not get to enjoy part of the package that I got through hotels.com. was told by Marriott management that I would receive a 50% refund, still have not received any refund.
- 4/5
My room on the 9th floor as loud, the music from somewhere was going on until after midnight
- 5/5
Have stayed here at various times over the past since 90's. Renovated rooms...great bar and food quality surprisingly good at the lobby restaurant and bar. Outstandingly service all around, bartenders very friendly and great at their jobs. In fact, all the workers seem to go the extra mile, front desk, valet parking, bar and restaurant and house keeping. Im going to keep on coming!
- 3/5
No hot water for 2 nights. Otherwise stay was pleasant and property was pretty
