- Convenient and peaceful location

- Poor cleanliness in rooms and bathrooms

Room was clean on a convenient basis and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The valet staff was also excellent.

Great location!!!! Great stuff!! Roma are clean
- 2/5
This was a horrible experience for us and I booked it for a large party. We had gnats in the shower, the pool was dirty, the bar was always closed and one day the pool was closed for maintenance. They didn’t offer any information or offer to accommodate us in any way. It wasn’t till I asked if they had a sister hotel that we can use for the pool that they offered more information. Not everyone would know to ask that. They should willingly give this information. I will not be returning.
- 5/5
The hotel was great. But early check in was $85 after being told $50!! Then the restaurant and bar was never open the four days we were there. Overall our stay was great.
- 3/5
Very average, pool bar ran out of liquor! The restaurant was terrible. The pool looked dirty and water was murky
- 5/5
It was a great experience! Our curtains were a little stained but other than that it was all clean! Very nice staff, especially Armando at the poolside bar! 10/10 would definitely come back!
- 3/5
It was okay but it wasn’t with the money. Half the time we were there the pool was out of commission. There was no sink space either.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and very good service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was very nice and beautiful
- 2/5
The staff were not very helpful nor were they friendly. When you approach the staff, it seemed as though you are bothering them. They are not informative and you have to pry information out of them. The valet service that they use, were not professional, and even offered a cheaper valet price if I chose not to go with the hotel valet price. That came off as very sketchy. Side note, I found a huge scratch on my car when I parked it in the self parking lot. There is no Bellman service, so prepare to take all your things to your room.

I booked two rooms, one room was correct pool view with balcony the other was wrong. But I just went with it. My room was dirty. The blinds would not close So i could not get dressed in the room area. Later after check out I received several fess. One for smoking in the room. I was told they have a sensor or something that detects smoke including vapes. I explained I do not smoke. When I looked in to the issue. I use shower steamers with scented oils. and in closed areas with no ventilation it can mimic a vape. I emailed back proving it was not smoke it was my shower steamer. I was told that it would take 5-7 days for them to look in to the issue the fee was 500.00 but I was charged 570 AND THEN ANOTHER 233 THEN ANOTHER 83.00 run run
- 3/5
The staff at The Gates Hotel were friendly, welcoming, and did their best to help throughout my stay. Unfortunately, I was disappointed that several amenities advertised by the hotel were not actually available or accessible during my visit. While the customer service was good, the overall experience fell short of expectations because of the missing amenities. I hope the hotel improves communication about what is and isn’t available so guests can plan accordingly.

We enjoyed a weeks stay at the Gates Hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful throughout. The rooms were cleaned every day and we had use of the Honu facilities on Gates Beach. I’d recommend the hotel to anyone and we would definitely stay there again.

We did not have a great experience at this hotel. We were charged for a towel card that we never used and when we have called a number of times, we still haven’t received our invoice nor working with anyone who is customer service oriented. We will not book here again as it is not worth the price nor headache.
- 2/5
Did research on this hotel was under the impression it was under hilton/double tree-now they are under new management. Its horrible now we are still waiting on our security deposit to be returned, the bartender doesnt know how to make any cocktails, the food is okay but up in the air because service is not promised on a day to day basis. There are also all these events posted to be happening at the hotel but it the hotel seems to be dying. I asked where the hot tub was and reception literally said did I ask anyone near the sign I saw lol. I also want to add that a lot of my belongings went missing at the hotel please use the safe provided in the room.

Location THIS HOTEL STEALS MONEY. They charged me a $1.140 FEE for "smoking" in the room. 1- I don't smoke. 2- No body came to visit me, in case they would say it was someone else. 3- I think they provided false documents to my credit company.

The location was really good. Had a nice pool, nice bar. Our room was OK. The hotel smelled really good. I was gonna ask room service what they used to clean the hotel. The chairs, and umbrellas that were set up at the beach we’re fantastic and the guys working out there were top-notch. Parking was $55 a night so we parked at a parking lot down the street for $17. The view out our room window was another building about 5 feet away so all you saw was a big wall.

Carlos all very very helpful those guys were great! promote them!!!
- 3/5
I do want to start by saying Carlos at check-in was very helpful—he was able to get us an early check-in, which we really appreciated after traveling. However, once we got into the room, it felt very different from the lobby. The lobby is updated and gives a great first impression, but the rooms felt pretty rundown and very basic in comparison. I also noticed that the hotel seemed understaffed. I called to request extra hangers and a bottle opener, and it took about an hour and a half. I actually had to call back to follow up and make sure someone was still coming. Cleanliness was another issue. Around the beds, especially on the black base, there was a noticeable layer of dust that looked like it hadn’t been wiped in a long time. The nightstands also didn’t appear to be properly cleaned. In the bathroom area, the fridge had a thick layer of dust on it, which was pretty off-putting. The shower curtain had holes and visible stains, which made it feel even less maintained. At the pool, I noticed the edges of the tiling had a thick film, like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while. I did see staff in the morning scooping debris out, but overall the cleanliness didn’t feel up to par. Overall, it was an alright stay, but I would only consider staying here again if I was on a very tight budget. For the price, I think there are cleaner and more updated hotel options in miami

The location was amazing. It has a cute lobby that smelled so good. Beds were comfortable and furnishings were well situated. There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker in the room. Different activities were planned during the week and list was posted in the elevator (we didn't partake). The bathroom didn't have a lock, not a big deal but would have preferred a lock. Our shades were torn at the edges and which was a bit detracting from the vibe of the room.

The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, with all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was especially cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Every area of the hotel was well-maintained and reflected a high standard of cleanliness. The location was perfect—convenient and close to everything I needed. I also really appreciated the little touches, like quick service, friendly staff always ready to help, and a smooth check-in and check-out process. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a 5-star experience.
- 5/5
The staff at this hotel made the place great. Adonis and Mike at the pool bar! Christie at the front desk! The valets are great too. Rooms are very clean! Pool is great. The only bad thing is it said they have room service and they don't. But i would definitely stay again!

Not clear room
- 4/5
The hotel overall was well maintained. It’s located in a quiet area The hotel is a reasonable walk to local attractions such as the Bass Museum, Lincoln Road Mall, and the ballet. The beach access is a block away. The pool was a little small and sometimes crowded.
- 5/5
Great location, gorgeous rooms
- 1/5
Great location. But no family style restaurants in the area. The restaurant attached to the hotel was staffed by individual who didn’t speak English and didn’t know how to cook, was out of items on the menu. Room was old, small and looked like it was from the 70’s.
- 5/5
It was ok. I can’t stand the fact that you need a room key to get on the elevator and to use the bathroom. I know it’s for safety but a major inconvience
- 0.5/5
I am still waiting for the refund of my security deposit more than 45 days after check-out. Despite multiple follow-ups through Booking.com, email, and direct contact, I have not received any clear update, deadline, or resolution. Communication has been generic and unhelpful, with my case being repeatedly “forwarded” without any real action taken. I strongly advise future guests to be cautious regarding security deposit handling.
- 2/5
It smelled throughout the hotel and in the room. The hotel room door lock would jam everytime I tried to get out the room which is a safety issue. Balcony door from the room need to to have an additional lock

Location Booked a king bed/terrace room for 4 nights. We arrived after 10pm on the first night, as soon as we entered the room I noticed we did not have a terrace but instead a balcony with 2 chairs. The terrace room, as per the pictures, should include 2 lounge chairs with covers, towels, umbrella and table. We called the front desk to report the issue and were told someone would call us back soon. After waiting 20 minutes in the wrong room, we decided to go back down to the lobby with our luggage and told that the room I booked was not available. It's now close to 11pm and we were exhausted. The front desk clearly knew they gave us a room that was not a terrace room and didn't tell us when giving us the keys. We were offered a free breakfast voucher which we didn't use as we had other plans, and told that someone would call us the next morning with an update. We went back to the room disappointed as we paid extra for a terrace. The next day no one called so we went back to the lobby to be told that the room with the terrace would not be available until day 3 due to an error with the reservation department. On day 3 we moved to the correct room, however the terrace was a disappointment, no umbrella, table, towels or lounge chair covers, just 2 basic /rusty lounge chairs. Currently disputing the extra price I paid for a terrace room.
- 2.5/5
Lobby area and sitting area very nice Arrived early after getting off ship. Room not ready (no issue), but they did hold luggage. We were able to get into room an hour early. We booked room on booking.com (2 Queen Pool View-paid extra for the “view”) ~ our pool view and theirs differ - I imagine being able to look out room window and SEE the pool- not look out the window through trees to see a small glimpse of the pool. First night laying in bed and a bug flew into the bed - found out it was some type of beetle (it was disgusting). Called the front desk to let them know what happened (got an “I’m sorry” and was offered a clean set of sheets. They were brought to the room, handed to me and the individual left. The elevators are AWFUL. Take FOREVER to get to you to go down from your floor (I was on 5th) Ordered pizza for delivery to room. Not notified by delivery service they could not deliver to room PRIOR to delivery (I had to call to find out where my pizza was “delivered”). Was told front desk - delivery courier told they aren’t allowed up to floor. Front desk didn’t even call to say “we have your pizza” I forgot to get a day pic from our window but through the painted wall and trees is the pool (night pic), second pic is the bug that was in our room Hotel overrated for price
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful. We went during spring break so it was definitely busy and they were very accommodating. Room was nice, but we waited a very long time and never got a text for checking in early. Hotel staff was absolutely amazing! Can’t complain about anything there. The view was amazing and the location was absolutely stellar! The Check and Desk can be difficult to find you have to walk quite a ways from the front area and the valet can be difficult to get in and out of. But other than that, they are wonderful. Can’t complain about the price or the location at all! In the staff again was amazing.

Very outdated, overpriced and little to no upkeep. The shower flooded all over the floor, no toiletries and the beds are very uncomfortable. I would never stay here again.
- 4/5
Liked pool Great location Pool bar not open days we were there Drinks very very expensive - for this hotel No shelves in bathroom No trash by toilet No one could tell if hot tub was cleaned Limited staff front desk
- 3/5
Les chambres sont plus petites qu’elles ont l’air sur les photos mais elles sont confortables . Pour un court séjour , le rapport qualité prix est bon.
- 1/5
The amenities, room and pool area were not as they advertised. The room was so small, the sliding door to the bathroom was coming off of the hinges and the shower smelled of mildew & dirt. The terrace area that I paid more money for because of the view advertised, looked like a larger cell with a pool chair. It was advertised that there would be continental breakfast & that was a lie as well. The pool area had dirty and stained chair coverings, it was absolutely disgusting & looked nothing like the pictures. I thought that I was paying for this fantastic view but instead I got a view of dirty water & houses that look like they were falling apart. To put the cherry on top, the guy that checked me in charged me double for the deposit by accident. The hotel was definitely not worth the money.
- 4/5
Vibes are nice and the rooms are clean, however the staff is disconnected and unwelcoming
- 1/5
la pileta es pequena y sin servicios Very expensive and poor service; valet parking is outrageously expensive at $57 USD, compared to $20 USD 100 meters away. The pool is small and has no amenities.

- 3/5
For the price, not worth it.
- 2/5
Never will stay again.

Hot Tub was cold , never turned on . Very small , maybe a 4 seater on the side of the building . Did not feel unkept at all. No microwave in room . Staff were very nice . Don’t count on an early check i
- 3/5
The gym had the basic aerobic machines and some weight training equipment. The problem was the 30-45 minute wait times needed to check in and touse valet services.
- 4/5
However, everything turned around thanks to Michael at the front desk. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating—he quickly assisted us in switching rooms and even allowed me to view a few options to make sure we were comfortable. We ended up in a second-floor room with a balcony overlooking the street and pool area, which was a much better fit for us. We were originally scheduled to stay from March 13–16, but due to severe weather and flight cancellations, we had to extend our stay through March 18. Throughout the entire time, Michael consistently went above and beyond to help us, making a stressful situation much easier to deal with. Overall, despite the rough start, we ended up having a nice stay. Thank you, Michael, for your outstanding service

- 4/5
Wonderful staff at the reception and several efforts to check in on my stay. I was interested in extending and decided to stay somewhere else because the front desk was too busy. Condition of the property is in need of an update. Comfortable and quiet room with king bed and terrace.

Several issues during our stay. AC in the room, water pressure in the shower, hot tub out of order the entire 8 day stay.

The floor/carpet were filthy! You had to wear shoes your feet would be literally black. The room smelt like urine and the bathroom door did not shut properly. Also, the door to the room was broken and had a makeshift fix.

Overall, stay was good - staff were curteous. We did need to request a room change and the manager obliged in a timely fashion. Room was well-appointed, clean. Washcloths were not replaced by housekeeping though. Pool was clean. Being on canal was pretty. Location a plus - walking distance to everything! Nice beach area, with chairs & umbrellas included
- 3/5
The hotel was fine and the room was clean, but there was very bare bones with no amenities. The towels were old and not soft. The staff was very nice and the location is phenomenal.
- 5/5
Excellent all around!
- 5/5
Great room, everything was perfect. Highly recommend.
- 2/5
The check-in process wasn’t ideal. Experienced multiple issues during stay include plumbing issues, shower not draining and room vent leaking. The hotel also wasn’t as depicted online. I wasn’t aware that I was paying to stay at a motel. Very disappointing experience.
- 5/5
The customer service was excellent. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast food in the restaurant was good, although they were short staffed there. The pool is right outside and the beach is an easy 2-block walk. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas at their beach spot. The fitness center center was good enough (Rack of dumbbells and cardio equipment)
- 5/5
Rooms was nice, location incredible
- 3/5
beach was close but the weather was not good which is not the fault of the hotel but when this happens they should have a back up plan with local offerings for guests to consider. It was an oversite on my behalf (read right to the end of the booking information), because Total does not mean total and the holding charge taken on arrival is substantial for some facilities, of which only a portion is refunded. A credit to the Gates was the lady that checked us out was helpful which was nice to have.
- 4/5
Clean room and nice staff.
- 5/5
Amazing stay, everyone was very happy :)
- 3/5
I sent a big review about my stay here - after a noisy first night, blots on the TVs in both rooms I stayed in, badly modified rooms to try and make it look “cooler” and a badly maintained and ill-equipped gym, I felt the place should not be charging a resort fee for its standards not being up to scratch. I will look elsewhere next time for sure. The staff were nice and they sell the place based on the lobby and location over anything else I reckon.

Room was very clean. Reception staff went over and beyond to accommodate our stay. Location was ideal with great access to the beach and the tram/bus service. This hotel met our needs as a stop over between cruise and flight home.

Very expensive for no reason, valet parking $55 a night that is ridiculous, Customer Service, horrendous and rude.
- 5/5
Great location. Nice room overall
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff very polite. I highly recommend more valet staff as front area of the hotel was constantly overwhelmed with cars and only one valet running across the street to drop off and pickup the cars.

It’s an okay hotel. The rooms are good. Pool area is okay. Nothing extraordinary. Not sure it’s worth the price.
- 3/5
Room was in good condition. They have a fixed setting on the AC so don’t be a cold bodied person, you’re gonna catch hypothermia. Other than that it was decent. Friendly staff
- 4/5

Black mold spores in my room and you take resort fees off? There should have been a full refund on the room!… black mold is deadly!!!!!

The only way I would change this one star is if I sees efund back on ONE of my 3 room stay there Honestly if I don’t see any. Change I will make sure that I go on social media and show truely how bad this hotel is and call the health department on them

Housekeeping came into my room without my permission while I was out on an excursion. My Victoria’s Secret hoodie went missing. I’ve been going back and forth with the hotel concierge about someone stealing my jacket from my room. Initially they stated that it may have gotten mixed up in the linen that they removed from my hotel room. However, my jacket was on the back of the chair in the room when I left for the day. The hotel insisted that I misplaced it. I traveled from NJ where it was 50 degrees. So the jacket stayed in my room the entire time. And that is where it went missing from. The front desk operator argued with me stating they investigated and came up with nothing. A staff member, more than likely housekeeping, removed my jacket from the room. The hotel has done nothing to rectify the situation. No reimbursement (the jacket was $60), no comp room, no nothing !

I was in from Kansas City and the Chiefs were playing their last game of the season, and quite possibly Travis Kelce’s last game. I asked the front desk where I might find a bar in the area that may play it for me, and they sent me to the pool bar. The bartender was wonderful and found it for me. It was such a wonderful experience! Thank you!

The rooms were just ok and the property was SUPER loud when I was there. It was heard to sleep. There was noise in the hallway and party outside that went really late and loud.
- 5/5
Our experience was lovely. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great room, friendly staff and very affordable!

Room needed maintenance man twice

Great staff
- 5/5
Great room, location, pool, and staff. Layla is an excellent employee!
- 4/5
The hotel location is excellent the beach amenities are great
- 4/5
Stay was generally very good, we paid extra to be on a higher floor, only $30 for the whole stay. The view from room 727 was great. The only issues were the bar not always open when it should have been and as any food had to be ordered at the bar this meant no food either. Also, be aware of a €41 per night charge to be paid on arrival to cover services like coffee in the rooms, house keeping and beach towel service, we stayed 11 nights, so over $400 on top of the room.
- 3/5
Outdoor spaces were lovely. The indoor lobby area was comfortable, the rooms however, need updating and were just ok. For the money I’ve stayed in far better. Lots of walkable shopping and restaurants nearby. The beach is walkable too. Overall, wasn’t overly impressed.
- 2/5
Terrible customer service.. bad experience from the start
- 3/5
Staff was nice and checking was easy
- 5/5
The friendly staff, the well-maintained swimming pool, and the easy access to the ocean were all perfect.
- 2/5
The hotel was pricey with extra charges, and was quite dated/run down. Cleanliness was an issue as was maintenance. Poor quality, service, and value.
- 1/5
Additional fees that I was not informed about when booking and charged a $555 smoking fee even though no one smoked in be room and the hotel is refusing to refund.
- 4/5
Absolutely the best staff, they have the performance of the Ritz Carlton staff- impressive! Fun activities every night (eg painting while sipping wine 😁). Brought robes and room heater on request.Comfortable rooms one block from the beach. Fantastic digital and painted art. Only minor issues were safe out of battery and noisy neighbors one night.
- 5/5
We only spend one day at the hotel but it was a great place to stay. The location is great. It is within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops. And it is directly across the street from the beach. It has a pool and on site restaurant. The staff was great; very pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again.
- 1/5
No heat in both of our rooms - had to bring us heaters and blankets - still not warm enough - slept in jeans and sweatshirts and paid a large amount on new years eve
- 3/5
No, the terrace door did not lock from the inside of room. FELT uncomfortable. When TV turned off, it was an issue to get back on. Back of bathroom room door seemed to have been chewed and did not present a positive visual opinion of my stay. WOULD think twice about booking again but the grounds were spectacular and the digitized artwork were amazing. THANK YOU
- 3/5
However, calling this a 4-star hotel is a stretch. Linens, towels, and essentials felt basic, not luxurious. The pool area needs major renovation—worn plaster, broken loungers, and old towels don't match a 4-star standard. The fitness center was also disappointing, with missing weights and machines needing service. The biggest issue was the non-stop noise: slamming doors, dropped items, and general chaos, even in the "newer" building. While staff found us a better room, the noise persisted, making relaxation impossible. The rooms themselves felt dark and slightly dated, lacking the luxury finishes expected. This property needs significant upgrades to justify its rating. Again all staff was great, they checked on us multiple times and were wonderful throughout our stay. Exceptional people!

Location, clean rooms, bikes
- 4/5
There was no hot tub and breakfast was not available which was a very big inconvenience as we had to go out for breakfast.
- 5/5
Was absolutely a delightful place to stay. Room was excellent, great location and staff was awesome. I would highly recommend The Gates Hotel south Beach.
- 3/5
Probably wouldn’t stay there again.
- 4/5
Nice place would stay again
- 5/5
I really loved this hotel! It’s in the perfect location, 2 minutes walk to a beautiful beach and the staff are 10/10! The only complaint was the cleanliness of the room, they would clean it and it’d still be dirty - Also when I arrived there was hair all in the shower lol but other than that is was awesome!
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
First time staying here, great quality for reasonable price, friendly, clean and quaint!
- 2/5
Unfortunately, we leave town today. However, none of the "resort" access was made available for us. We went to the beach and was sent on a wild goose chase to find the loungers/towel service. We even called hotel for assistance. We were then misguided, walking up and down the beach, until we discovered there was no “Honu tent”. Upon our return, we were told they probably weren't out there due to the wind. We woke up for breakfast at 8a. No breakfast food available. Last night there, we called about on site dining because all of the restaurants appeared to be closed. We were told one was open. When we asked where we could find the menu we were told online. I went online, no menu. Called back and was told that they couldn't help because the restaurant nor front desk was answering their calls. I shared that it’d be greatly appreciated if the “resort fee” would be waived since we were unable to utilize “resort amenities”. Although, we were guided and encouraged to use them without any staff verifying their availability. I was only credited Back one night. Grateful for that but not enough due to never being able to use resort amenities. Hotel is also very outdated in the area of rooms.
- 5/5
Everything seemed fine. Really only went to the beach.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Friendly workers
- 5/5
Our room overlooked the pool which seemed a good idea but we hadn’t reckoned on the children who continued their ‘swim’ and foul language shouting and screaming until midnight - so you might want to think twice about room location. Bed and sleep quality was fine and bathroom with walk in shower also good. We enjoyed our stay with a couple of minor quibbles - lobby bar was open but no cocktails available due to “the changeover from Hilton”and the outside pool bar was closed during our 3 day stay. I’m sure we’ll be back
- 5/5

Good sized rooms, amazing location,
- 1/5
Room had no hot water, AC wasn’t working and TV was burnt. Flight was delayed and rude Manager wanted to charge me for late checkout even after all issues with room.
- 5/5
Very beautiful property the aroma as soon as you walk in it’s very nice . I had a balcony room it was beautiful as well overlooking the pool. Only thing is the bar is usually close, but other than that it’s nice!
- 3/5
Microwave in rooms will be highly appreciated. There was no orientation about a microwave being available on another floor for use. That will be something to tell your guests to make them aware.
- 5/5
Beautiful view, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Had a very pleasant stay at this lovely hotel, staff ,location and room were very nice, definitely will return soon.
- 3/5
IT SHOULD BE 3.75. CLOSE TO 4. Bathroom could use an upgrade. Better lighting. Space. Also, sink has stains which I was unsure were permanent or just dirty. Staff was very good.
- 1/5
Hi, I need help with an urgent refund request for a hotel I booked through Hotels.com. It involves a confirmed bed bug incident that affected two guests. Can you escalate this immediately?
- 4/5
The staff were wonderful, especially Carlos at the front desk. Great location.
- 3/5
It was just ok. Bathroom shower smelt like mold and there was a rave going on outside our room u
- 5/5
Very accommodating staff!! Great place! I’ve stayed in numerous hotels in South Beach, during Art Basel and other times, I’ll definitely stay again, can only recommend it.
- 5/5
Really nicely sized rooms, cool decor, and super well-located! Great staff, too!
- 5/5
Great hotel people and location.
- 3/5
I was quite disappointed with our room. The furniture was deplorable.
- 1/5
Horrible experience. Rude staff. Dirty. Towels smelled like gasoline. Had to pay resort fee with pouring rain! Inconvenient. Would never recommend. If I could give a negative star I would!
- 3/5
Staff were ok not overly welcoming. Room was comfortable and spacious.
- 5/5
I loved everything about Gates Hotel. The staff was amazing and the hitel was closer to everything.
- 5/5
Didn't use the pools or hot tubs
- 2/5
Pool bar open during day , in the evening no bar open - couldn’t get any drinks from the bar in the evening - no atmosphere at all in this hotel. Electricity went out for four hours one evening .. wouldn’t return as not a cheaper hotel either , expected much more . The best thing about this hotel was the staff - all the staff we encountered were very nice.
- 1/5
A faulty coffee machine that was leaking water. The room setup did not match my booking: only two glasses were provided for four adult guests. On the morning of 22 November, I requested a glass of hot water after I checked out to take my medicine, but the hotel refused to provide it. Staff behaviour was not good at all. When I raised all these points at the front desk/reception, the staff did not bother to even discuss and refused straightaway. These are very basic guest needs, and the refusal to help shows a lack of hospitality and safety standards. I attempted to resolve the matter through Expedia, but the property manager has repeatedly refused any compensation or refund. I am therefore requesting Hilton Corporate to intervene and provide an appropriate resolution. I am looking for a 100% refund of my booking amount. I look forward to a prompt response.

They made sure they clean their rooms everyday and they did a very thorough jo. The staff was always pleasant and very helpful with any questions or any concerns

Whoever was rating this an 8.4 must have standards of a Motel 5. Don’t let the photos fool you. The photos looked beautiful but don’t be fooled, one of the dirtiest rooms I’ve ever stayed in, looks like a haunted hospital with dim but sterile lighting. Also non stop drilling and sawing upstairs in the early morning when trying to sleep that we weren’t notified of prior to staying or I would’ve said no thanks to begin with! Don’t try to save a buck by staying here, you’d appreciate spending a few more dollars for a nicer hotel in the Brickell area.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious room. Pool attendant was very attentive. Good location for exploring Miami
- 5/5
Beautiful vibe…loved the ambience. A must repeat!
- 2/5
Very disappointed in out stay. The restaurant was closed, there was however a pub with a very limited menu. Many items listed were not available. The air conditioning was very difficult to get under control so that we were not freezing. We eventually just turned it off. There were supposed to be robes provided, and they were not. We did call for them but they only brought one. The phone in the room would only work on speaker. The pool area was nice and the female attendant very personable and helpful, however, there were only 2 working umbrellas in the entire area and not a lot of shade. The direct sunlight was brutal. They did have cabanas to the tune of $125.00 to rent. I will say that when I went to management with this issue they did give us a cabana free of charge for the day, which was the right thing to do. The beach area is a bit of a walk so don't think its right across the street. The activities that they offered seemed to never happen or were late . Movie was offered on Thursday night...when asked what would be playing to multiple people no answers could be provided. In summary it was an ok place. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Would not go back.

Sadly I did not have time to eat at the restaurant that seemed always empty. The beach is easily accessible from a quick 2-5 minute walk. Highly recommend taking the 5 mile round trip down the path to south pointe pier. Unfortunately as I checked out they said they I owed $12 for taking an “item” from there area even though that was completely false as I had bought all my hydration at CVS. I requested they check cameras at the timestamp they said I took it and call my provide an screenshot from said camera they did not and still charged me. Again this is absolutely criminal to do such a thing when the cameras do not show me ever taking anything from there so beware completely ruined my stay with this scammy method. Please let it be noted to check certain hotels areas around as while walking around certain good hotels were next to late night clubs and xxx like stores which are advertised as family friendly hotels. This hotel was good but others were not.
- 5/5
This was a great hotel it was a block away from the beach I loved the art work inside also convenient to walk the strip
- 3/5
What i hated myself and partner were locked on our balcony for 3 hours until maintenance could come with a key because the balcony door lock was broken we had to call the police and that made thongs happen. I won't be staying their again

Overall great stay.

I love how I can walk to the beach and have access to the chairs from the hotel. It’s so clean inside. Walgreens 24/7 so I get whatever I need. Avis car rental is next door. Also, the amenities it has each night.
- 3/5
Okay stay
- 4/5
Location was great especially for parking if you have a rental. Beaches are close and oceans drive be isn’t too far to just walk.
- 3/5
Small pool not enough beach chairs

A bit far from beach and shopping, but walkable.

I like the location, close to the beach .

- 5/5
At check in, we came across Shawn, and he was very professional, courteous and friendly. Good customer service 👍. Thanks for alway asking to help in anyway possible.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our short stay, the only thing I would say is that the site states that they give you a free bottle of water with the other amenities and access to the bikes and Beach which we did get except for the bottle of water.

Room had a leak in the ceiling sink faucet installed by a blind man no exhaust fan probably black mold staff great. ⭐️⭐️***

20-25 min drive from the airport lincol rd Collins and ocean dr(dining, shopping, bars ) 15-25 min walk beach some restaurants Walgreens 5-10min walk clean property very cute lobby with pool table breakfast food is great hotel provides entertainment like beer pong movie sip and paint nights outside are had pool hit yup and bar on smaller side but very nice rooms are simple but clean for the price you pay it is very very good
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, the air conditioning and scent all over the lobby was very pleasing. We had an awesome time at the pool and the food was great.
- 2/5
The bedrooms were extremely cold - thermostat did not work. I also found dried blood on my blanket upon my arrival. Rooms are pretty small and the washroom is tiny.
- 2/5
I did not like that after calling and asking for good room i was told to call expedia. (Which I did and requested a high floor facing the city). When i arrived i was given a low floor andfacing the ba k of the building on a low floor. I even mentioned that i stayed there several times when they were affiliated to Hilton. My wife had to beg for a better room while they mocked her. This is how you treat a loyal repeat customer? I don't think i will be going back. (BTW - I stay in hotels very frequently (Ambassador level with Marriott) and i chose to stay with them because pf such a great stay previously. The new boutique hotel needs an education on treating repeat loyal customers the best.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing constantly checking up to make sure our stay was A+ rooms were very clean & spacious and props to the valet parking staff they were amazing, respectful and very attentive and on point, thank you and I will definitely recommend and plan on staying at this facility on my next visit.
- 5/5
Love this place
- 5/5
I love the location and how close it is to the beach. All staff were very accommodating and when we checked out we had an evening flight so they let us leave our bags at the hotel while we hung around the city. It’s also very family friendly. Brought my family from Norway here and they liked it. The pool is decently sized and quiet.
- 3/5
The property is good however when we first walked into the room, the sink wasn’t working and the room also has an interesting smell to it. However they were very nice about fixing the issues and the pool is very nice and it’s a very convenient location.
- 5/5
Overall Great experience

I had the most horrible experience with this hotel They had to move me 3 times. First the shower had to be replaced,2nd room no air!3rd got lock out on the balcony for 30 minutes before someone came to rescue me I had to threaten them with calling the authorities. WORST HOTEL! DONT STAY HERE

When we got to the hotel it was nice, check in went great with Eloisa, tons of activities for guests. We got to the room and got locked outside in the balcony. turns out the battery needed to be changed. They sent an engineer moments later. It began making a buzzing noise in every 20 seconds. We took a video and had asked him to switch rooms but weren’t able to so they sent someone to try and fix it again. at this point, we are leaving for dinner. It was pretty late so we were hoping to get it fixed at that moment to not have to do it later and it wasn’t making the noise when the tech went up so he had to give him a call if it happened again, but we knew we’d be returning late so it wasn’t a great solution. We ended up having them take the battery out around 2 AM just to solve the issue for the time being. This was just inconvenient and disappointing as we. were there for one night to relax. We didn’t eat there and only had some drinks on the property which were nice.

House keeper forgot to leave tiles & washcloths on second day and she left the balcony door open. Room near the pool was a little noisy in the morning when you are not an early riser.

I will definitely be back :)
- 4/5
I recently stayed at The Gates Hotel for two nights and found it to be a convenient choice, especially since we had friends staying just across the street. Although we didn’t spend much time at the hotel itself, it suited our needs perfectly for a short stay. The room was comfortable, and we had a good night’s sleep both nights.
- 5/5
It was really clean and nice hotel, kind employees
- 3/5
No microwave in the room and the refrigerator is in the bathrooms that alone is a turn off.
- 5/5
Loved the property. Near of the beach, restaurants, very clean and friendly staff.
- 5/5
I truly appreciated the service throughout the hotel—staff were consistently kind and attentive. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Its location was also excellent, with restaurants, supermarkets, and a pharmacy all within close walking distance.
- 5/5
Great staff and stay. Wanted for nothing! Perfect access to everything SB has to offer.

Clean, Nice & quiet. Far away from the hustle & bustle but just a quick walk away from the action.

Great location, good room rate, blinds could be updated, they are frayed and don’t close easily. All in all a good experience
- 5/5
loved everything about this beautiful property . From the beautiful aesthetics, art, very great customer service and how they text to check on you . Staff was so helpful and showed us where some places close by to eat and or shop at . loved how relaxing it was and clean. 10/10 I love the activities provided especially some free ones ☺️I will definitely be returning again whenever I am in miami .

Best hotel we have ever been to while on vacation absolutely great experience!!! The beds were so cozy, the room was very spacious, the balcony view was amazing, the pool area was absolutely gorgeou, the staff was very friendly and helpful and cateredto every need, we even received the first hour free on the E bike which was so much fun i highly recommend trying the bike and they have great bike lanes on the strip!!! We will definitely be staying here every time we come to Miami!!!

Cabanas over priced. But pool staff was amazing! Tv in room was mounted crooked (306).
- 5/5
Everything was great we had 8th floor balcony which the views from the balcony were amazing!!! The pool area was absolutely beautiful and the front desk was most helpful and kind and very attentive and we will back on Friday so we are definitely looking forward to staying again!!! Plus it's really close to the beach with great amenities!!! 5 star all the way!!!

the ambiance of the hotel is pleasant. the room I was issued was filthy with dirt and hair in the shower food on the floor and gum stuck to the rug i filed a complaint with the hotel and still haven’t heard from a manager was told i couldn’t be issued a refund because the room is booked from expedia
- 2/5
First off, they are no longer Doubletree Hilton. They have made drastic changes to the menu to the service to the activities. The staff that were in the restaurant they weren't friendly. They weren't attentive orders were constantly wrong mean to children did not want to get ice or get napkins almost killed my sister with an allergy Were not responsive at all.
- 4/5
Short walk to the beach. Beach chairs and towels are provided - included in the resort fee. Restaurant has good food. Overall a good hotel and can be very affordable on certain weeks. Never a cool place to hang out. Glad they were not blasting rap music this time. Staff was very polite.

Great location, safe, clean and quiet

Walking distance to beach. Gym and pool a plus. Allowed early check-in.

We Checked out today and our stay at The Gates Hotel was beyond dissatisfied with our experience. What was meant to be a relaxing and enjoyable trip has turned into a frustrating ordeal. We originally booked our room over 2.5 months ago — specifically choosing a terrace room with a pool view so we could enjoy some outdoor privacy and unwind after a concert. Upon arrival, we were told there was an issue with our original room and that we had been “upgraded” to a suite. Unfortunately, the so-called upgrade turned out to be a room with a full view of air conditioning units — hardly an improvement. We ended up having to repack all our belongings and wait around until 2 PM the next day to finally receive the type of room we originally booked — despite the 11 AM check-out policy. Once we did get the new room, we found that the TV was broken, and the terrace was nothing like the photos advertised online. Instead of a comfortable, well-furnished space, there were just two lounge chairs — no table, no umbrella, and no atmosphere. Overall, this has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing stay. The handling of the situation, from the so-called “upgrade” to the lack of transparency about what we were actually getting, has left a very poor impression. We would not stay here again, and unfortunately, we DO NOT recommend this hotel based on our experience.

We were offered a free upgrade to a room with the balcony, for a 2 night stay was perfect. Next to the beach and had a small pool area and bar.
- 5/5
Great service
- 2/5
Not that clean
- 4/5
I definitely appreciate that we were able to hang out in the lounge undisturbed for hours. It was great. I didn’t like that there was no real privacy for the bathroom. The maintenance guy had to come into our room and the first thing he saw was my sister’s panties because the closest is wide open and there’s no door separating the room from the bathroom. I also didn’t like that there’s a separate charge for parking. I feel like I paid for my stay twice between the valet parking and the resort fee!
- 5/5
I love it was only mins away from the beach. The art they had on display was very beautiful
