I have stayed here about 9 times.. I love this place. Now it has been renovated which makes it even better. Great Pool areas, Gym is awesome and new, tennis courts are great. The Steak house Restaurant is World Class!! The near by shops/restaurants within walking distance make this hotel and hidden gem in an amazing area. Will continue to stay when I visit Miami. Excellent in all facets!!!

The room was nice and clean , the bed was comfortable but not good enough for 2 people it should be queen, the breakfast was excellent and the staff gives a real good attention and good attitude

Wanted to go out Friday night but hotel was without water for extended period. Safe in room was not secure and had to be replaced. Staff was not knowledgeable with suggestions for things around the area

Room was wet and damp and smelled like a wet dog? The rooms are in dire need of updating! Been going there for 20 years mainly out of convenience and instead if getting better when it was Shulas Hotel its getting worse! Such a shame because its a beautiful property!

Multiple stays at the Miami Lakes Hotel and I'll keep going back. Nice property and the attached restaurant is always a good choice. Also, the breakfast place on the front corner gets you off to a good start if you want something quick.

We did not use any extra hotel services or make additional purchases during our stay. This situation caused unnecessary stress and wasted our time trying to resolve billing errors. Be very careful and monitor your credit card transactions closely if you stay here.

We like the upscale and classy atmosphere. We will stay here again.

Breakfast was very good and hotel grounds are nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem we encountered was the room would fill with condensation and feel sticky if the air conditioning wasn’t set to arctic wind setting. Might of just been our room that had this problem. We did have a problem with the TV but after calling reception someone came out quickly and sorted it late at night which is good.

I reserved 2 doubled bed for 4 but when we checked in they gave us a king bed without notifying us before our arrival. The amenities are outdated and the beds are hard.

Great hotel all-around. Would stay again. Great breakfast. Fridge in room, able to request microwave. Comfy beds and pillows. Super hot water. Good location, right next to a CVS and Costco. Only downside — The shower hardware is terrible and needs updated! Hard to find a good temp and water just trickles on you.

Great facility, lobby and common areas are very resort-like, rooms are older but well maintained and clean! Parking is a bit confusing because the building is so large. Breakfast was a typical hotel buffet, nice spread with a variety of fresh cut fruit. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Very nice hotel at a very reasonable rate. Plentiful parking. Lots of amenities including a full gym and nice pool. Rooms very clean. Farther away from the beach and Aventura than we anticipated due to heavy traffic on the highways. Nice shopping mall not too away.

I booked the junior suite and got something less for the same price. the staff told me a mistake was made and the room was still occupied. The bathroom was not clean particularly the shower. the wallpaper was peeling the water pressure was weak. The air conditioner was set similar to walk in freezer. complimentary breakfast was lukewarm at best. I hope anyone who stays here has a better experience.

The check-in crew was unsure about our reservation, but it was eventually cleared up.

The area of this hotel felt safe and especially at night for my sister and I. If any women, is looking for a safe area to stay while in Miami, Miami Lakes should be at the top of your list. Definitely going to stay at this hotel next time I’m in Miami.

I always love the complimentary breakfast! The room is always clean! This stay the elevator closest to me did go out of service however was quickly fixed before my stay ended! Overall I do love this place! The Staff were amazing! Shoutout to Maria she was so nice to me!

We like this hotel, because these is no carpet. Miami is so humid, that carpet is a liability. Also people travel with pets. .... some people are very sensitive.

The room could've been cleaner with better bed lining when I arrived however they addressed my concerns.

The property is located near tons of place to eat, pharmacy, supermarket and near interstate. Nice Coby setting, pool is not huge but decent.. rooms are a little out dated, no microwaves in rooms unless requested. Didn’t try breakfast but was included.. shower was not great at all, barely got water to come out but sinks are so strong they wet your clothing lol. Balcony and patios are decent sized depending on your room.

I was waiting in line to check in and the gentleman at the counter. I will not call his name act like I was not there and proceeded to help someone else 😡 I also sent an Amazon package before my arrival that was just setting there I was told by two different staff that I had nothing there, until finally a different staff member was kind enough to help me, and located my envelope that was there but they were just too lazy to look 👀

My favorite part was seeing that beautiful pond everytime I walked through the lobby

The room was so damp and moist, that our phones were full of moisture we couldn't charge them and i slipped in the bathroom and twisted my back. And there were no microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. The staff were kind and considerate

They were fantastic about letting us check in early, however, we had to call maintenence in the first 30 min due to the tub not draining. Then my 2yr old grandson found a random pill on the floor and we had to call poison control to find out what it was. The staff was very responsive in coming to the room to clean again and they even changed out all of the bedding just to make sure there wasn't anything else. I think they could've avoided the hassle of they had just thoroughly cleaned the room to begin with.

Clean, only stayed one night before our cruise. Staff was helpful and polite would stay again in the future.

You get what you pay for I guess… the location was good for our plans but it was confusing finding the rooms. The building are not even labeled, Also the beds are not queen, they are double and not confortable for two people to sleep. The ice machine was not working and I requested late check out which was a mission to get someone in the phone. They deactivated my card and o was locked out of my room . I asked the cleaning lady to let me in to get my stuffs and she said no. I had to leave and walk to the front where I waited for a while to get helped. I will not stay here again.

Room was clean, shower head wasn’t great. Breakfast was awesome, the pool area and gardens are very nice and attractive. The shopping center across the street is a nice touch. Definitely try the Acai Express! Would definitely stay here again!

Yes, everything was very well prepared. Just had some minor issues with the fridge not being cold, but it was warm and didn't keep our water cool. It would have been nice to have a working fridge. Other than that, the room was very clean, and there were plenty of towels

The room was very clean, and they turned the ac on to cool it before we even entered. That was very appreciated as it was 90 outside. The ac in the hallways seemed to be off when we arrived so it was a bit muggy in the hallways, but not bad. The pool looked great, but we didn't have time to test the waters unfortunately. The breakfast was good, we'll laid out. We caught the tail end, right before it closed. Was still able to get all choices of food though. When we come back for another family function we will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful and very well organized. The cleaning staff are very friendly, as are the receptionists. I will definitely return.

The MLRestaurant breakfast was better than any other hotel on the road, but dinner was good, but service was horrible, understaff, and actually bad service.

I love the hotel's location. There are so many quality food and drink options within walking distance. The area is also very quiet. The gym is right across the street and it's fantastic. The staff is very helpful and the hotel is well maintained. I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived a little early with my parents, who are both elderly (80+). We were made to wait until the acceptable check-in time of 4:00. It kind of ruined the whole trip.

The staff was great they let us get an early check-in, the room was very clean, the breakfast was so good, the staff was very attentive and the area was very clean the lady that was at the register was very nice! The grounds by the pool are very well kept and beautiful.

Hotel well located, if you need to be in Miami Lakes, immediate adjacent to boutiques, restaurants and bars. Supermarket on walking distance. Amenities are sufficient and clean. Large property with plenty of parking space. The rooms itself are below the standard of the rest of the property, as they haven't seen a renovation or update in many years. Bathrooms are basic from the 90's. The condition of the rooms is unfortunate as it gives the hotel more a motel feel. Breakfast is served in the internal restaurant, which is typical with eggs, potatoes and a daily rotations of some kind of processed sausage. In addition, options for toast, waffles and fruit. It could benefit from better pastry quality, actual yogurt, more spread options and/or cold cuts. In it's current condition I would not recommend this for a business traveler. Once the rooms are improved, the local businesses have a go-to address as there is not much in the wider area for them to stay.

Great location right on Main Streeet and close to expressway and lots of shopping. Hotel was well appointed and clean.

Breakfast was great. Good protein options. They switch the meat up, so sausage one day, bacon another, kielbasa another, Scrambled eggs both days we were there. Potatoes switched too. Along with pancakes, French toast, etc Cheryl the greeting hostess was a wonderful way to start and end breakfast!

Nice setting but average accommodations and food.

The facilities themselves are good, but unfortunately they seem to be poorly maintained. The rooms have a noticeable humidity issue, and the air conditioning units are not very effective at controlling it. In our case, the bathroom and bathtub drainage did not work properly which made the stay less comfortable. Breakfast was another disappointment. It was not very well presented, and it was removed before the stated time of 9:30 Reservation issues, i booked and pay for a specific type of room, but upon arrival wasn’t available, and they try to assign you a lower-category room without clear accountability or proper resolution. These are issues that management should definitely address, as the property has good potential but needs better attention to detail and service consistency.

This is great hotel in the perfect location in Miami Lakes. You can walk to so many different restaurants, salons, the movie theatre, etc. Twice I used the gym partnership between the hotel and the Miami Lakes Athletic Club. I took advantage of the free breakfast every morning. Staff is friendly. Hotel somewhat dated but not bad.

Beautiful and clean the food is so good I come here once even 3 times a year and it’s always a great stay. Clean and family friendly I highly recommend coming here always.

This our home away from home. We come often to visit family. The room is always clean, housekeeping is great and the room is super comfortable. The breakfast that’s included is also great! My only concern is remembering to request a room that is in the middle of the property. I found this time around since we were right by the vending/ice machine and elevator it was extremely noisy. All in all a great place to stay.

At 6 a.m., my husband woke to use the bathroom and the toilet overflowed. So, we had to change rooms after getting very little rest. Three hours later, my in laws (staying in another room) called to say their toilet also overflowed. Clearly this an old property that needs extensive plumbing repairs. They offered good breakfast options, but EVERYTHING was ice cold. The staff tried to be helpful, but there is no consolation for the level of inconvenience and dysfunction we experienced here. I tried to print documents in the business center before check out. No ink in the printer. Yet another inconvenience. We could not check out fast enough. We will not be back.

The property is lovely and the pool is nice however not heated and very cold. The bed is very comfortable and the room was quiet and had handy access to the garden area. We enjoyed the breakfast in the beautiful restaurant. The food and variety was excellent. We stopped in at the bar but were disappointed that there was no non alcohol beer available . We would book here again if attending another event at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami Lakes hotel was a great stay. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were spacious. The bathroom sink is small but worked. We asked for a microwave and it was delivered promptly to our room, no fee. The pool was clean and the restaurant served very delicious food. The breakfast was plentiful ( waffles, pancakes, French toast, sausages, eggs, potatoes, assorted muffins, bagels, cereal, juices, coffee, etc). The staff were exceptional and informed. My family and I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

A super classy place to stay! Reminded us of hotels in the past that were just “elegant”! Staff was super friendly and restaurant was very good…ate there 3nights at least! Walkable safe neighborhood, beautiful pool area and courtyard.

Front desk staff were helpful. The hotel itself was nice and clean. Good complimentary breakfast. The area is great and walkable if you don’t want to travel to have a nice dinner. My only complaint is that rooms are really out of date. They need a remodel including the TVs etc.

where do I begin. They were very few lights in the room. The Internet was extremely poor. The shower curtain wouldn’t stay closed because the shower rod was broken. The curtain to the room wouldn’t open more than a third so it was quite the dark hole. The shower was a trickle of water. The facility was just generally very old and kind of rundown.

I already let the hotel know about the lack of customer service while checking in. I've had better greetings at lower budget hotels. We stayed in a suite that had enough room, but was outdated. Don't stay in room 1202. Tou can hear EVERYTHING in the hallways.

Arrived to the hotel late last night after flying internationally. Had booked a room with two beds as we wanted a good nights sleep before our cruise. On check in, we were told we had two beds. I also received an email directly from the hotel saying we had two beds. When we got to our room, it was a single bed. We tried to call the front desk (but couldn’t bc the phone wouldn’t work) and then went down to let them know and see if we could be moved. We were told that it was too bad because we booked on a third party site and there was nothing they could do except offer us a rollaway. Not even a small credit or anything. Said we could “upgrade” at 7 percent of the upgrade cost if we wanted another bed. Called the reservation line and the man was so rude and did not even hear me out. The supervisor (Johnathan) refused to come out and made the poor guy behind the desk deal with it. We ended up canceling our reservation and got a room elsewhere. Don’t trust this scamming hotel unless you book directly through their site, and even then, just know their customer service is horrendous. They could have made a killing at their bar and restaurant if we would of stayed as we had a party of 10 coming to join for dinner and drinks. Now they lost that and the entire room fare because they didn’t want to budge at all to help us.

Room was fair. Absolutely no towels. Went to service desk and they said housekeeping would bring some. Never did. Went back to service desk and instead of going and getting a few and handing to me, once again said housekeeping would bring. Never did. I searched all floors and halls for a service cart and took a couple towels. Drink machine dispensed orange drink when pushed coke. Other machine dispensed expired coke product. Sheets were put on backwards where tags were under your chin when you sleep. The desk person was super friendly however. I would likely choose another hotel over this one on my next visit

I stayed one night (as usual) and this is my hotel to go between work, meetings and things to do.

The whole hotel is outdated needs to be renovated and i’m seriously disapointed from hotels.com because i wanted an early check out my and the hotel staff told me that they will only deducte the 1 night stay and the rest 3 nights will be refunded but because i reserved by a third party they wanted hotel.com approval which i chated with an agent and she couldn’t help me so i was stucked in a hotel that i didn’t like i’m just windering if you cannot help a Gold tier member that i am who could you help soooo disapointed never again gonna reserve by you guys

House cleaning staff was terrific very polite, The room I stayed in needed renovations. I took a cold to Luke warm shower at night and also the next day. Fitness center was like a membership like facility.

Everything was better than expected

I really loved the hotel and staff, they were all so nice and accommodating. However, the wifi was extremely poor. As a person travelling to an another country, wifi is extremely important to stay connected to family and friends back home and also to work online in the privacy of your room. Being told the only way to have a good reception is to be in or closer to the lobby was definitely not great as the only solution offered. The rating is strictly due to lack of proper wifi connection.

Stayed here post cruise for 2 nights as flights were cancelled due to weather at home. Hotel is near a lot of little restaurants in a nice area. Pretty courtyard area .Rooms definitely need updated but they have a sign saying they were doing that. I can understand being old but dirty isn’t acceptable. The drain in our bathtub had mold and hair stuck in it. Bedding was dingy and gross looking.Bathroom door wouldn’t close hardly and paint peeling off of it. Ac was either freezing or sweating us. Pool area nice but pool needed cleaned and no pool towels. Staff were nice and we were able whey in our room early. I think it just needs a little TLC.

The check in was quick but not sure why they needed to take my credit card.

Maybe give us a map. We walked past many exterior doors before we found our room. I have no idea how to find where we parked our car.

The staff was very friendly, and the room was spacious and very clean. We appreciated that it had a lot of mirrors for getting ready, and a nice balcony overlooking the courtyard. And the restaurant in the hotel had delicious food at a reasonable price. In the morning, there's even a cafe with pastries and good coffee. We already plan on staying here again the next time we are in town for the symphony!

The room was not the cleanest. The floors were sticky since it was laminate wood and not carpet. Pool was not heated. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel the waiter was kind but struggled to split up the bill, it became quite the mess. Front desk staff was kind. It was okay for one night but wouldn’t stay here for multiple.

The hotel was fantastic! It was super clean and convenient to the Hard Rock Stadium. The shuttle service was also nice to the stadium too for a fee. The area around the hotel was nice and we were able to walk to dinner and lunch. The staff was nice and we would stay here again.

The Good: The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were incredibly soft. The staff was also a highlight, they were friendly and helpful, despite appearing quite overwhelmed by the crowds from various ballroom events. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the restaurants and shops on Main Street, and parking was easy and plentiful. The Bad: The hotel is extremely dated. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment, I found visible mildew, and the shower looked like a DIY project by a "crafty handyman." The handle was unlike anything I’ve seen in a professional hotel, and the shower head and tub felt like they hadn’t been updated since the 80s. The Food: Breakfast was good with plenty of options and seating, but the buffet layout is awkward, making it feel very hectic when the hotel is full. Overall: Having stayed in several hotels across different countries this month, this was unfortunately the lowest quality of them all. It has a "motel" feel at a premium price point. I wouldn’t stay here again.

When we came back, we were shocked to learn that one of the rooms had been given to someone else. Even more concerning, the check-in paperwork for the room under my name showed initials and a signature that were clearly not mine, which strongly suggests that no ID was checked before handing over the room. This was not just inconvenient—it was unprofessional and alarming, especially from a security standpoint. Giving a room reserved under my name to another guest without proper ID verification is unacceptable. This experience caused unnecessary stress and completely disrupted our family trip. I would not recommend this hotel based on how poorly this situation was handled.

My stay at Miami Lakes was good. Nice hotel and beautiful garden. Nicely decorated for Christmas. Staff was polite and friendly. Rooms are clean daily and that is appreciated in. The place is RUN DOWN! DIRTY and NOT SAFE! I reserved a suite with a balcony. Do not waste your money. I called the front desk twice to have the bathroom cleaned bc when I got there the bathroom still had toothpaste stains on the faucet and mirror and the old roll of toilet paper from whoever was in the room before. The shower head was DISGUSTING!!!! Was full of mold and crust and I requested it to be changed out bc it was so nasty. The person they sent up just mopped the floor with bleach and made the entire room smell of bleach for hours! The table in the room was dirty and chipped the ice bucket had food spilled and dust on it. The ac unit was missing the whole bottom panel exposing all the wires. The phone in the room didn’t work and was not even attached to the wall!! It was just a huge disaster. I was there for business and was working 20 hrs a day and was too exhausted to continue to explain my situation to every person that I spoke with. I should really get a refund for the unsanitary conditions. I had to clean the sink and scrub the shower head with my own wipes just to take a shower at the end of the night. The sheets also smelled of pure bleach but I’ve said enough. Never again will they get my money and they shouldn’t get anyone else’s for that matter. The surrounding area is beautiful it’s a shame that this place is in a great location. I have pictures of everything and I will be leaving reviews on every site with pictures.

Staff was friendly and hotel is clean. I will say that there is a humidity problem in the rooms though. If you don’t keep the room freezing, the room starts sweating and condensation builds up, especially on the floors. It felt so gross walking through the constantly wet floors. I had to put towels under my feet. The blankets have a wet feeling to them as well. I asked the front desk if this was normal and they said it was and the only way to stop it was to keep the room below 59 degrees (too cold for me!) There were puddles on the floor! The bathroom has no fans so when you shower, it makes it worse. Fine for a night- as long as you don’t need your hair to cooperate - but I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay. I was there in November so I cannot imagine how bad it must be in the summer. (Also- I live in Florida and this is not normal, despite having high humidity outside).

We heard music till late. This morning when my husband walked from the bed to the bathroom he slipped and fell hurting his right leg. I called the front desk and informed them about the wetness and the fall. Told the front desk to send their maintenance people When we were leaving we saw several signs on the outside halls indicating “be careful wet floor”. Emerson also noticed when we returned the keys to the front desk several signs indicating “be careful wet floor”. Apparently this hotel has a big problem with humidity removal by their air conditioning units

they make you pay an additional $131. the guy at the front said the hold is for $100 which expedia tells you that you won’t have to pay anything else at the property. so i went from $165 to somehow $296 which is insane! bathroom and fixtures show old wear and tear. and they have attached ac units so be prepared for that smell of old ac filter. i’m just staying on night so $300 a night in a run down old hotel is diabolical and they are misleading. next time double check to call so you won’t be surprised like me. do better expedia and miami lake hotel!

The staff was not very friendly nor welcoming. We went for the MNF game with the Jets and they had no idea about the shuttle or any information. When we told them what the shuttle people told us, they insisted we were wrong. We weren't. It would help if they had an English speaking person at the front desk along with the others.

1- Very weak water pressure in the shower. This was very annoying. 2- No waste basket in the bedroom, only the one in the bathroom. 3- Clean towels are placed almost on the floor. There is like a very low wooden platform under the sink, but it's so low that it's practically on the floor and you can't help to touch them with your feet while brushing your teeth or washing your face.

The hotel has well trained workers that seem like they love what they do and applies wonderful service. I just want to point out the two workers that assisted me that day and they are Danilo and Anderson. These two individuals made my stay a happy one. You guys, continue to be great and continue giving the hotel a great look.

Right on Main Street

I didn't like that my room was right in front of the door that led to the pool so unfortunately I heard all the in and out and because of the crack at the bottom of the door I could hear everyone's conversation.

The area around the hotel is nice but our room was sticky from humidity, felt wet, blankets were wet when we first got there and there was mold in the bathroom ceiling.

Ask for a map of the property so you can locate your room easily...hotel is largre and wraps around a huge courtyard... Loved this hotel! We decided to always stay here when we are in town!

It's always a good feeling to stay with you, I'm happy to come back when I need to stay for a night or two for work.

The hotel was very nice and smells good walking through the lobby. But i dont know if there is a section for discounted rooms because when i got to the room. There was toothpaste on a light switch in the bathroom. Hair in the bathtub and red trash on the bathroom floor. Upon getting in the bed i noticed that there were pink and purple marks on the pillow case. So i had to request new pillows. Needless to say i checked all the pillows but didn't check the rest of the bed. Until the day i was checking oit and noticed yellow stains on the sheets closer to the foot of the bed. But how the beds are tucked when made up it is not noticeable. I felt disgusted when i saw this. Knowing i slept in the bed 2 nights like that just made my skin crawl. But other than that. The hotel is nice. In a nice area. Has plenty of security. Although there was a heavy set girl that sat in the back of the hotel leaning up against a security car on her phone for long periods of time doing absolutely nothing. I mean i get it. As a security guard there is not much to do. But it just wasn't a good look. Maybe if she would've sat in the car and not made it so noticeable it wouldn't have been a big issue. The poil was very nice and warm. The bar had very good drinks. And all the staff was very nice. The rooms was even nice. But the housekeeping aspect of the hotels needs more work. And the security guards need some work too. Oh yeah the 80 year old security guard that was in the lobby was very sweet.

Stayed here days leading up to my wedding and it was the best decision! The hotel smells so good as soon as you walk in and super clean. Our room was very specious perfect for my bridal party to get makeup and hair. The property is generally in good condition but appears to require some updates. It is evident that the paint and decor have not been refreshed since the days of Shula's hotel. The front staff did not seem knowledgeable when asked questions and accidentally charged our deposit twice. Additionally, guests should be cautious about room placement, as those near housekeeping may experience disturbances from doors slamming throughout the morning, which can disrupt sleep due to the staff's frequent comings and goings.
