Cheap stay.

we all hear about the little hidden gems in each community, and I'm telling everyone now that this is the place for Myrtle Beach as far as hotels. And it's extremely inexpensive and actually pretty well maintained, and the owners take pride in the place and are showing it because they're having it renovated our highly encourage anyone. They want say budget-friendly place to stay. That is clean to look no further.

The guy who checked us in was absolutely the sweetest! And his little sidekick (dog) made it even sweeter. They were very kind to us and the room was clean, comfy and wonderful. Just what we needed for one night! 😊 would definitely suggest to anyone staying for a short period of time. Honestly you can’t beat it for the price.

The staff was very helpful. The beds were clean, the pool was clean, and it was fairly quiet, that's about where it stopped. Great for a last minute one night trip and fairly priced. Not sure I would go back or stay there for multiple nights.

Nice location. Relatively clean rooms. The only thing was that the shower curtain was covered in black mold. Disgusting.

The minuses- I had an issue with the hot tub that was hot, but the jets weren't working properly. The water flow in my shower was too light. I couldn't get the TV to turn on.

Didn't stay. Checked in while my wife toured the property. She told me she didn't feel safe staying there. Ate the $400+ for 2 nights.

The hotel room was disgusting. The bedsheets on one bed were not cleaned, and there were stains on the sheets and loose hair from prior guests.

The only problem was the water pressure I was on the third floor and the water pressure was not good. That is the only bad thing I have to say about it.

The pictures listed online looked nothing like what we saw in person. The property was dirty and not properly cleaned. The bed sheets had stains and marks on them, the shower curtain had mold on both sides, the shower curtain had other stains on it, the mirror had stains on it as well, the walls were dirty and had some dried brown substance on them, the window curtain had a slit, the open closets had mold on them, and the AC barely works. The staff was helpful and had a good attitude; nevertheless, the room was dirty. And if one room looks like this, it isn’t too far-fetched that the rest of the rooms are dirty as well. The were multiple police sirens, loud arguing outside, and gunshots, and minimal parking. The only good thing about this business is the proximity to the beach and the front desk receptionist, everything else is not worth it. Especially if traveling with kids.

Great beach view and beach access. Pool area has a place to rinse off sand as well. Though there isnt a private balcony area, they provide chairs so you can sit outside of your room and look at the beach.

Outdated hotel, dirty, small rooms. Only good thing is that the hotel has balcony around all rooms and a nice beach view. It has a pool and jacuzzi. Long walk distance to boardwalk and other entertainment areas. Very limited parking spaces.

It was a good place to stay close to the beach

They do not clean the rooms after each use. The man at the front desk put me in a room that the shower had dirt grime built up, sand on the floor like it had not been swept, and there was long black hair stuck on the wall of the shower wall. The dirt and sand was all over the room also. It felt very dirty!! The sink was gross!! They kept the used shampoo and soap in the shower from the person before. We stayed ONLY because he said he was sold out, no other hotels had availability, and i needed some sleep before hitting the road the next morning. While driving, i got a message from the man at the front desk telling me they were charging me for a cleaning fee of cleaning hair in the bathroom and a small drop of juice from my child on the blanket, that would have came out very easily in the wash. I told him that is not fair to charge me for issues that were there prior to us coming other than a small spot on a blanket that needed to be washed anyways. I never heard back, they do not care!! DO NOT UTILIZE THIS HOTEL!!!!

Place was clean, affordable, and near the airport. The staff were ver accommodating with our late check in.

Well I booked a room on the beach. Then after I paid I found out my room was across the street in a rundown piece of dump. It was completely falsifying from what I seen in the ad. There was half of the hotel on the beach the other half is the rundown dump across the street that I got stuck in. Didn't even stay .We checked right back out and left ,,very rude man at the desk refuse to give us our money back and we were only there 10 minutes. Very disappointed!! Be careful of there scams .

The place is small compared to the other hotels around. Great beach access, shopping and restaurants very close.

Location at the beach is the only good thing. The rest did not meet our expectations as reflected on the website. Says Resort but this is a motel. They put pretty pictures of the parts of the motel that have been refurbished but the rest appears to be a work in progress so don't go by the positive comments or the pictures online. Check the room before you check in and pay and leave. Make reservation through Expedia and not the property itself.

The room was not very clean and floors were sticky. There is a coffee pot in the room with nothing to make coffee with, not even coffee filters. There isn’t a phone in the room to call the front desk. We stayed four days, and housekeeping NEVER came to our room, to make up the room, take trash, or provide clean towels. When we asked for towels and housekeeping to attend to the room, we were told that there is an additional $25 fee, per day, for them to service the room? What? There is not an ice machine or any vending machines in the property. The front desk charges $3.15 for a 7 pound bag of ice, that WE had to go across the street to get from a motels locked ice box and then return the key to the front desk! We killed 2 roaches in the room during our stay. The batteries were dead in the tv remote. The jets did not work in the jacuzzi, it was hot water though. There is not an elevator on the property. We were given a 3rd floor room and my husband is disabled (2 hip replacements) but had to climb the stairs to the room. There is not enough parking for 1 car per room! People Double parked, blocking other patrons! They charged $50 to our room, “ incidental “ because there was “sand” in the bathroom shower and on the used towels….ummm…well this is a BEACH FRONT hotel! The staff were very rude as was the front desk clerk! There were 6-8 cats roaming around and climbing on vehicles. Cans of cat food and fly covered bowl of cat food on walkway!

The motel is right on the beach for easy access. Private parking. Our room came with a kitchen, so we could have cooked any meal if we wanted. We did pay for an ocean view room, but our view ended up being the stairs to go up to the top levels. We tried to discuss some discount/reimbursement but were unsuccessful but not a big deal as we still enjoyed our room. Rooms are not very sound proof so we heard lots of yelling and slamming doors, but it did not inconvenience us much. We will definitely be coming back!

It was convenient and laid back

My stay was okay. The room was a bit small, and one part of the hotel was directly on the beach. The other portion was across the street. Needless to say, I was housed in the portion across the street.

I paid $50 extra for an Oceanview room, and was given a room right next to the office, nowhere close to Oceanview. Then my $50 security deposit was kept due to "dirty towels." No one was in the office to ask for help for anything, and wifi password did not work. Stray cats everywhere with messy food for them left all over the sidewalk outside the room, and trash cans overflowing with trash. I was rudely texted that my security deposit would be kept, and when I asked about my room not being oceanview I was ignored. Horrible service and room and will never return. Scam Motel!

We were suppose to stay there, got attitude from the owners about checking in early after the owner told me we would get our code 30 min prior to the conversation. the owners daughter said i had attitude and was refunding my money and told us to leave. on top of that the place smelled like alot of people were smoking weed! Then the owner proceeded to call me and my husband trouble makers!!!! LOL! hilarious. So our stay didnt happen and thank god for that. We went to a much better higher upscale hotel and were way more comfortable!!!!

Good price, great location

Room was clean, bathroom was very nice … loved the LED light mirror and shower! Had a very spacious fridge and they had dishes in there for you to use. Beds were cozy, pool was heated and clean. Overall very nice room… parking was difficult sometimes especially if u got in late … but it is summer time so that’s to be expected

Nice place aesthetically pleasing

Our room was clean and the a.c froze us out. The pillows are not your typical big fluffy pillows. They were small and kinda lumpy. The mattress were in zippered cases which is an extra reassurance for nasty critters. There was a coffee maker available, but no coffee. There was a cook top and cookware available as well as a small assortment of dishes. The bathroom was updated, but lacking water pressure. Very animal friendly! Check in isnt until 2pm which made it a little rough since our plane came in at 9am. The pool and hot tub were nice. Really enjoyed the aspect of lounge chairs in a grassy area between the beach and pool. They also had 2 grills and corn hole boards availble for use. The decor in the room was lacking, but better than being over the top. Overall for a small motel they're doing a pretty good job. The biggest complaint i have is that there are no private balconies. Gotta sit with your neighbors, but hey they had a cute little yorkie puppy so it made it worth it.

When getting to the room once able yo check in the room was clean. There is no elevator and only one stair case for where our room was which I wasn’t to eh about incase of an emergency. But it is what it is for what I paid. We had dinner delivered for the night and decided to watch some tv. The tv was having issues so had to use my cell phone to call the front desk. The Roku box was having some sort of issue and had to get a new one. Started to work and the lady left after that but still couldn’t get it to work after a hour of getting something. I decided to try and see if my hotspot/phone would help. Problem solved. Luckily I had hotspot available to make my 2girls happy. When first turning on the shower the first water is brown but clears up in a little. No private balcony. Overall maybe for a one night deal but other than that no.

Upon arrival we were greeted and checked in by the owners daughter Keesna. She was extremely friendly and accommodating. The beds were super comfortabe and the room was clean and comfortable for 4 adults . The family that owns this hotel helps feed all the local stray cats in the area , which I think is very kind and sweet . We will be sending some cat food via Amazon to them to help in their quest to help these cats .

This was a great place to stay. Convenient, clean, easy to get to, and centrally located for what I needed as a home base.

The owner was so welcoming, personable, helpful and I would come back and stay anytime. He is still doing renovations and I can't wait to see the results.

Very friendly staff. Didn’t like however that I was asked to leave the pool because it closed at 10, but by 11, the pool was filled with folks who were allowed to stay. Other than that, I enjoyed it.

It was on the beach, and perfect for a fall break. There weren't a lot of tourist so the beach wasnt crowded. The pool was nice and the hot tub. Parking looked tight if you have an suv or truck but for a car it was perfect. The rooms are recently renovated but some furnishings are outdated. But with 2 small kids it was clean and safe. Owner was nice upon check in. No complaints!

Great little place

It's a bed near the beach. That's about all I can tell you. The AC could not keep the humidity in the room down. Towels, once wet, never dried out. The bed was comfortable though.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. I liked that we got the ocean view rooms (2) and that it was a short drive to almost everything. What I didn't like is that the building needed repairs most likely due to age of building. Also, the rooms were very 'wet' despite having air conditioning in each room. I found a sandwich in the microwave that was left from previous people. There was not enough parking for guests right at the hotel and we needed to use the annex parking across the street which made it hard on check out day. I also did not get back my $50 deposit on each room I had booked that I was told I would get back when I checked in. I most likely will not book here again.

Extremely fast to repair our AC upon arrival! Very polite and helpful. An older property and has obvious needed updates and maintenance but it was clean and great location. Parking can be a challenge.

This is by far the nastiest, dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed in. It was so bad , I checked out 3 hrs. after I checked in. Everything at this place was very run down.

This family owned business was fantastic. Checking in with Dillip was like checking into your mom‘s house. He and his daughter were extremely kind. My wife and I really appreciated our stay here. Thank you.

Very close to beach, so you can walk-in, but you'll feel sand on the room floors since no carpet.. Parking is difficult and sometimes need to park on the opposite side

Very family oriented-I was alone but met quite a few people at the pool who have been coming here for years. Everyone was very friendly!!

The property has great location as far as being on the ocean. But the hotel does not have an elevator it's 3 stories. There is no ice machine on site even though they had ice buckets in the rooms. They provide a coffee maker in the room but do not provide coffee. None of these we were prepared for so we spent a lot of the first day running to get things we needed. The walking of stairs is a major inconvenience when it doesn't tell you there is no elevator. The pool was a decent size but they were struggling with chemicals in the pool and hot tub and dhec was there doing an inspection and found high chlorine levels. The staff was friendly but a lot of needs are required to make this a good hotel and want people to come back to.

the pricing was very good for a beach front location with beach access. front desk guy was super nice and personable, made me feel comfortable staying here for the night. the bathrooms are so nice and the roku tv was a great addition, i would love to stay here again in the future

You can tell the property has been renovated but it still shows signs of being an older property. The front desk owner was very polite and the property is very pet friendly. The only complaint was that the room was not ready upon arrival and when inspecting the room there were a couple of hairs left in the bathroom and a wet washcloth hanging over the shower that was missed by the cleaning crew. Other than that, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly and it suited our needs.

The young lady at the desk was wonderful and so helpful. The location is just great with ocean views and many restaurants to walk to. The only negative is the building is older and could use a bit of updating but it was immaculately clean and when I asked for towels they came immediately. I will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our short stay at Mystic Sea and would go back. The owners are good people and for a budget friendly hotel in Myrtle Beach the place is well cared for.

Said o could get into the the room early once it was clean. Had to wait until my actual check in time which was ok. Problem was girl at the counter was not too concerned with getting me into my room because she was on the phone at front desk and afterwards checked her own personal phone. Lots of folks drinking outside and making tons of noise. No elevator, 3 flights of stairs with people sitting in my way a lot of my one night stay. Won’t ever go back there for sure! Awful experience and dirty! Toilet had a real bad smell because it was not secure to the floor I think is why. I can’t say enough bad about it really My bad for going cheap I guess…. Lol!

Only complaint is the floors were dirty & linens and a chair were stained and the water smelled TERRIBLE at first use.

I contacted expedia via their virtual agent and cancelled. if I am charged for the last two nights I will seek a third party's assistance to get refund. expedia should check out the hotels they make reservations for.

Nice for the money

The property location is very good and right on the beach. The view from the room is pretty good. However, the rooms' cleanliness and condition could be a lot better. There is a lot of scope for renovation. The AC was too noisy and outdated.

I was satisfied with everything. The only thing that threw me a red flag was the fact that we had a coffee maker without any coffee.

Wrong room, no ocean view, not a king size bed, almost zero lighting except for a plug in lamp that had to be unplugged to plug n the coffee pot, water pressure in shower was a drip, no soap or shampoo provided, our daughter who lives in Myrtle beach came as we were checking in and the front desk accused us of trying to have a 3rd person in the room! A total of maybe 200 square feet, no room to do anything but lay on the bed, the mattress was worn out and sunk to the middle, no elevator so hauling luggage to the 3rd floor!! The worst part is Hotels.com did nothing about it and the hotel refused to refund our money, so we were stuck, the first night upon check in I requested a supervisor from hotels . Com to call me back, 2 days later I had to call again, again no results!! Never have received a call back from Hotels.com, so apparently customer service no longer exists. I am trying hard not to really say what I think!! Worst experience ever with the booking company and hotel!!

Pleasantly surprised, room was clean, A/C was cold, pool was clean, great beachfront location, fairly quiet (non-holiday stay), stores in walkable distance, full-size coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave, not too big so not overcrowded, great friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again...price was right for the location!

This was a pretty nice hotel for the money it was not the nicest hotel nor was it the worst hotel i ever stayed in. Staff was very nice. Pool and hot tub were clean and worked.beds and pillows need some updating though

The oceanfront location is great, with plenty of activities and reataurants nearby. This is an older motel with recent limited interior renovations. The bathroom (Room 222) was nicely upgraded and there were no issues with cleanliness or hot water. The room itself is "tired" but functional, with good heat/ac. The bed was fair, the pillows cheap, the linens and towels thin. For the price however, it is exactly what was expected. The motel is very pet friendly, so if you are allergjc or sensitive to minor pet odor, beware. All in all, not a bad value for the money - just remember that you get what you pay for.

It would have been nice to know that the pool was not filled and the cats all around the property need to go . Between the urine all over the parking lot and the smell of feces in the back of the motel - it was just unsanitary.

Our stay was great/ the hotel was great, the owner she was amazing. Very kind and made sure we had everything. The rooms are renovated to beautiful room. The bathroom was awesome, the beds were nice clean and comfy, It was very clean. They did an amazing job with the rooms, and the new light fixtures. Bathroom, tiles and Murrow vanity. I will be coming back again.

We had a neighbor whose door banged about 8 times Thursday night, 6 times on FRIDAY NIGHT, 8 TIMES ON Saturday night. The room was clean, the front desk and the maintenance person were friendly. The Mattress needed to be replaced.

We enjoyed a weekend stay during the off season. They’ve been undergoing renovations and I believe they’re still in the process. Our room was clean, great location, and parking was available. Great budget option.

We were robbed by this hotel and owner, for checking the rooms and beds for bed bugs which they had in every room they gave us... When we finally found one without the bed bugs, we stay... Upon checking out we were told they keep our deposit because we pulled the other two rooms sheets back to look and they called the police cause we wanted our deposit back... Totally nasty, local drugs user stay there .. pools were inhabitantle... A millions stray cats... Literally

Older resort but the current owners are working to make improvements. Room had newer floors and a remodeled bathroom. Bed was comfortable. They do have oceanfront view rooms although I did not have one. Beach is steps away.

Having said that....there was a door that joined to the room behind it that only had a deadbolt keeping it from being usable. As a solo traveler, that was a little unnerving. The lights outside the room were so bright that it was difficult to sleep because they also kept the room pretty bright. All in all......the room served it's purpose, but I would definitely ask for a different room if I decide to stay again.

Very helpful with check-in on thanksgiving. Made arrangements prior and it was super smooth. Very clean and updated rooms.

Homeless people even put their bedding and food beside the door and horrible room smell.

I have found my MB hotel. Family owned, not a corporate chain. Great rates. Spacious rooms w comfy beds, pillows, and linens. Updated bathroom, very clean. Oceanfront/poolfront rooms available. Large flat screen smart TV. Full size fridge and microwave. Full sized dresser with lots of counter space. Luxury toiletries. Soft towels. Easy parking. Across from Mystic Sea general store and next to Scoobys Grill and Ben and Jerrys. Walking distance to restaurants including a breakfast/lunch place. Amazing staff: friendly and helpful. Easy check in and out. There is not an elevator but the owner carried my bags and would not accept a tip. 3 stories. Coffee makers in some rooms. Shower only which I prefer. On the way past the outdoor pool and hot tub to the water there is a grassy area with a bbq grill. Plenty of chaise lounges and chairs. Past that is beach access. I've stayed in more than 15 hotels in North MB, South MB, Surfside, and Murrells Inlet, including condo rentals and airbnbs along w traditional hotels. I will never stay anywhere else.

We had not been in years. The hotel had some improvements but wasn’t done very well. Palmetto bug on floor as soon as I walked in room. Sewer nets all in the bathrooms. Shower water was never HOT. You get what you pay for. Never again!

The room has been remodeled and is very nice. Smart TV, tub has been converted to a large shower, and new flooring. The shrimp boat landed on the beach from the hirricane so lots of interesting people to talk with. I will definitely come back. You can't beat the price and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Its clear they are remodeling the rooms and the upgrades are awesome! Real tile remod bathroom with touch screen defrost mirrors. The room was basi but had a full fridge in it and was comfy and cozy. Staff was friendly and very accomodating. We will be back!

Rooms were great and very clean. Outside could use some sprucing up but pool area was good. No hair dryers in the room which was surprising and no ice machine available. You could get ice from the front desk but it was a bag full and you were charged $2.

The people who own this property are very nice, but the floors were disgusting, there was dog and cat poop all in front of the rooms, especially on the bottom floor, the ac unit was almost to the ceiling, and it blew right into the ceiling causing condensation and mold smell that was awful. 2 lights in our room didn't work, the nice lady at the front did replace them but we did not enjoy this stay. the ac was the worst part. bathrooms were nice though

Room was clean. I booked my room online and they had me on the 2nd floor, I am disabled and the staff kindly moved me to a ground floor room.

Reasonable rates friendly service

Seemed very up to date, very clean, didn't even feel like i was walking into a hotel room! ALso love the lit up mirror in the bathroom, and big fridge! Owners were lovely !

I like how this hotel has a small walk to the beach and I like the view of the beach and the balcony. I don’t like how the hotel smells bad and it has no good odor to the room and the staff were very nice and the WiFi was just weak and slow that’s what I don’t like about the hotel. It was a good experience that I ever had and I’ll never stay at this hotel ever again. The key was the hardest part and I didn’t like the way it was and that was the difficult part of the hotel area.

This is probably one of the oldest hotels in town and definitely not worth staying at. Long-term residents don't know how to keep quiet and just all around poor condition

Walter is always a pleasure to see when we stay there. We have been staying there fir 16 years. This year they upgraded everything and it was even a better stay then usually. Will always stay here when we go to Myrtle.

The staff was very friendly and I love the upgrades to the room. The rooms could use more amenities like an iron and ironing board, coffee pot and coffee. I like the fact that the room had a stove top and dishes but there wasn't any cookware I could use to cook food with which made having a stovetop kind of useless. But overall my stay was good and it wasn't bad for the price. I had a great weekend! I give it a 7 out of 10.
