Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its proximity to JFK airport and comfortable beds, but expressing concerns about cleanliness, particularly in the bathrooms, and the presence of insects in some rooms. The staff's helpfulness is praised by some guests, while others find them unfriendly or unprofessional.
- Close to JFK airport
- Comfortable beds
- Cleanliness issues, particularly in bathrooms

Not only was the water from the shower head going in ever direction because it was so gross from lack of cleaning, but there were 2 cockroaches found in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, but since the bathroom was not clean I would have to question the cleanliness of the beds. I'm just glad this was a one night layover or I would have sought another place to sleep! I can't say too much for the staff as we only spoke with the front desk girl who was nice enough. Seriously, I'm not sure why this hotel has not be condemned. I have never stayed anywhere where there were bugs! Lesson learned, don't stay, even for one night, at another Best Western!
- 3.5/5
I liked the fact that it was close to the airport and that they had their own shuttle. The room I had was too small. The bed occupied 80% or more of the room.

Disappointing

The property was in shape. The room was cleaing over all it look

The lovely Staff Member that checked me in, went over and above the call of duty! She quickly observed (read) her Guest and after I was in the room, she brought me two Ice cold waters. PLEASE, THANK HER FOR ME. I almost cried at this kind gesture. The room was spotless. The towels and linens were high quality, soft and fluffy. Easy and efficient Shuttle to JFK . The driver was friendly. I told him that I noticed he took extra care easing our ride with all the construction bumps. Most drivers would not really care, and would just barrell down the road. :) PLEASE Acknowledge him. Thank you Great Guest Services! Nothing! Oh.... maybe sell the little bottles of wine at the desk! Ha ha ha
- 5/5
Booked for closeness to the airport and airport shuttle. Just used for a layover between flights. Comfortable bed and helpful staff. For an actual stay it would be hard to get to other areas in NY. For an airport layover it’s perfect.

Would have liked two chairs instead of only one in room. Did not receive wake-up call as requested for 3:45 a.m.
- 3/5
It's a room. Nothing more. Nothing less. Definitely not worth what I paid for. If it's a bed, a bathroom, a desk and a tv you want...then this is your place. Not a lot of food options to choose from either. Like I said, it's a room.

My drivers license was misplaced approximately 40 minutes,I had to wait for two/three van loads of customers to check in. A customer came downstairs got on his hands and knees found it under the front desk. Then there was a BUG on my outersheet.I have pics

The sensors light kept us a wake every time you moved. No extra pillows when were needed. We knew that is Covid-19. But the hotel could put breakfast with a cover plates and one staff handed out the plates.
- 4/5
Inside is nicely decorated, the room was as shown online, the bed and sheets were comfy. The pillows were way to big. The shower was sparkling clean. It’s a fine stop if you just need to wait for your next flight but not a place to stay for vaca Tt ion in my opinion
- 5/5
Clean rooms and updated forniture
- 5/5
so far nothing
- 5/5
Good location next to airport . So we wouldn’t have to get up as early if we drove ourselves. Service was good.
- 5/5
Easy and kind
- 3/5
Room was clean. Hotel small. No parking unless pay. Service desk not friendly
- 5/5
Our flight was cancelled at 10pm and Delta told us to just sleep in the airport. I called this hotel and asked if they had a shuttle and a room available and they were so wonderful and helpful! We booked the room and a shuttle picked us up from the airport. Our room was so clean and comfy! The next morning they dropped us off at our terminal. They really helped us out that night! Very happy with our stay! It was pricier than some other places. However we did book last minute so I’m sure that was a factor!
- 3/5
Straightforward. Have stayed in Best Western before so picked this over the others Slightly pricey. Booking.com says card given won’t be used but it was charged straightaway. Hotel then charged $100 damage deposit - to the same card - before I checked in. Never seen a hotel do this before - makes you worried about what kind of guests they are used to. Checked out hours ago and still not got refund processed, so not as quick to do this as they are to take it off you.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4/5
All the charges, that was not mentioned online. Then it was a roach in my room.
- 1/5
Didn't know this was also a homeless shelter. The smell of Marijuana was overwhelming
- 5/5
Convinient location near the JFK Airport, confortable bed and the hotel was very clean. The only bad thing was the water preassure on the shower.
- 2/5
A foul smell in the corridor and room
- 5/5
What a great hotel. Definitely no frills but very clean, comfortable and friendly!! Very close to the airport and convenient hotel shuttle service.
- 2/5
Bathroom door handle was dirty and dusty. Even bathroom door was sticky with fingerprints.. in corona times! Full breakfast cancelled even though in the price. Replacement breakfast bag was worthless, coffee in ‘lobby’ disgusting, coffee in room tasteless. Return shuttle 1xhour. Very good bed!
- 1/5
No wash clothes in the room and was giving only one set for 2 people and the cable went out in the room in the middle of the night no one never came to fix it and they didn't change the room so i didn't have no tv the whole time so i left in the morning the Manager said she was taking off the parking and she never did as well i will like a refund please and thank you
- 1/5
I found out after I got settled in, And almost ran over by a woman in a walker, Who did not even say excuse me and kept going that a part of the hotel was being used as a shelter. I had to pay for my own cab service at the airport when I was told that the shuttle runs 24 hours every hour on the half hour. Not very transparent and I felt unsafe
- 1/5
Fairly clean, air worked well, smells stale, no services, breakfast in a bag, overpriced room, expensive extra parking fee which was undisclosed until you get there. Parking spaces were tiny for SUV
- 1/5
They canceled my reservation without telling me. When I went there they were telling me my reservation canceled and they are booked out.
- 3/5
i didnt like how i asked about parking my vehicle and was charged an extra 25 dollars for one night.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, very helpful staff who helped make a bad situation better.
- 5/5
Airport shuttle and grab n go breakfast
- 5/5
Very Clean
- 3/5
Generally underwhelming
- 1/5
We were not told that we would have to pay $39 to park our car until we got to the hotel. They took an extra hundred dollars from my account when we checked in and held it to be sure that we didn’t smoke in our room. That was insulting and ridiculous and no way to treat a client.
- 5/5
clean
- 1/5
My visit to this place was a disaster. I think the hotel is a homeless shelter. It was very unsafe considering there were drug addicts hanging out in front the property. We had to pay $26 for parking however there is absolutely no other parking around. When I asked the desk agent how was it fair that I have to pay for parking and I’m a guest at their facility and there’s no other parking, she said there’s usually parking about two blocks over. I said you see the neighborhood I don’t think I would be safe walking two blocks over or even if my car would still be there when I return she shrugged her shoulders. 0/10 very ghetto would never return.
- 1/5
Absolutely horrible. Flight got cancelled without any assistance later on. No accomodation, foodoucher, nothing was offered or provided. Never flying with Qatar airways again.
- 3/5
Main lights in the room were on a motion sensor.
- 4/5
Bad area. Lots of noise.
- 1/5
the atmosphere
- 5/5
I was laid over the night from Newark to JFK. Hotel was comfortable and clean.
- 2/5
They do have onsite parking, but they charge you 26 dollars additionally to park on site.
- 5/5
Very clean. but you need better dinner
- 2/5
Not welcoming for direction to the room actually is only use the stairs more faster. Noisy in front the room parking for shuttle buses can hear into bed room. The only friendly is the shuttle bus driver is humble and helpful.
- 4/5
Nice hotel! Very small rooms!
- 5/5
Excellent place to vacation for family.. kids loved it. We will definitely be back God willing.
- 4/5
Man at reception desk was very helpful in getting us back to hotel after we took Uber to a restaurant and couldn’t find a way back
- 2/5
It is not a clean hotel, showers and toilets are not cleaned well and beds are not the best. Although is conveniently close to JFK I would look for a better option for that price.
- 1/5
Customer service was horrible, rudest front desk staff I’ve ever met. Beds were terrible and it’s in a really loud neighborhood.
- 2/5
Staff was very rude $100 deposit required other guests were loud noisy objectional scetchy some were drinking possibly on drugs Building nice room nice way to expensive for having to put up with shady clients guests Housing authority is Apparently paying to put them in Hotel I overheard one guest talking about it and another talking about something on her blanket that wasn't there the night before like a imaginary slime Personally I won't stay there again and have to pay double by paying for a room and a required deposit $$$ Deposit is a "Hidden" fee if I had known I would have stayed elsewhere
- 3/5
Close to the airport, facility veey outdated. Overall its good only for a night or two if on business or traveling.
- 4/5
It was great overall the room service was great. Didn’t like the fact the Jacuzzi didn’t work for us during our stay. My gf said she never had problems in her experience with jacuzzi rooms.
- 3/5
Bed was comfortable but Property seemed old. No where to eat.
- 5/5
Place was clean staff was great . Only down side parking is 26 dollars daily
- 3/5
Nothing
- 5/5
No
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
It’s was a nice stay
- 2/5
Looked like theur were homeless people or drug use. People would walk by tge lobby very intoxicated. I really didnt feel safe
- 2/5
Staff was friendly and eventually helped. I hate to sound like a Karen but after 20 hours of flying and only a few hours to sleep between flights (12 hour layover), you just want to sleep! Bed also kind of had a dip in it to on the side people sleep on so that mattress has probably seen better days. Not a terrible hotel but I had a bad experience that the staff eventually helped with.
- 2/5
Terrible
- 2/5
When I got to the hotel it was late. My pillow case and sheets had stains on them. I call the front desk and the girl got me a new set.when I got back to the room and looked at the new set it had way more stains than the set on the bed. The staff need to pay attention to the guest issue and make sure their not add to the problem. The room had a funny smell so I had to go out and buy a candle. Don’t think Ill be staying at this property in the future.
- 5/5
very nice
- 2/5
Would not recommend this hotel. Close to airport, but very small room. Can't even fit suitcases anywhere unless you block the door. Entry light switch would only stay on for about 20 seconds and then auto shut off. Bathroom sensor light stayed on all night - couldn't get it to stay off. Thin doors - heard noise from hallway and other rooms. Freeway noise. Hallways are tight and too many small doorways. No breakfast currently because of covid.
- 4/5
It’s really convenient if you stay for very short time(lay over flight), very clean, super comfortable bed, clean bathroom! But it’s located in kind of industrial area and poor neighborhood, don’t recommend to walk around, but I did
- 5/5
very good
- 2/5
The room was very clean. The pictures on the site are very misleading. No breakfast, no lobby, attached to warehouses. I read a review that commented on the smell of weed, and thought that would have been a one time thing for that person's stay. Not so. The smell of weed permeated the hallways, and despite being in a smoke free room in what we thought was a smoke free hotel, cigarette smoke was prevalent as well.
- 4/5
Good Hotel
- 2/5
Towels old and thin. Nothing was working, not the coffee machine nor the lamp. Looked nothing like the photos. The room, small and cramped, felt unsafe.
- 5/5
My stay at Best Westernn was amazing services for such a low price. I would definitely will come again in the near future.
- 4/5
We had to pay for parking. It was clean and it was perfect. The parking fee was bit bit much
- 1/5
The hotel is awful. This is very disappointing as they show photos of a nice and calm place
- 3/5
Have to pay $27.00 for parking. Not expected self parking means you have to pay 💰
- 1/5
Be careful of hidden fees, this hotel charges you $26.94/night for parking! I would understand a parking fee if the hotel is in the middle of Times Square, but not in the middle of nowhere around JFK. They do not charge for the shuttle but they charge you for parking. Also, lack of towels and bathroom supplies. No breakfast due to covid (understandable) but no discount/compensation for that either. Staff at the front was also rude.
- 1/5
I liked proximity to the airport. However, the hallway smelled like marijuana. The service was poor, I requested to have someone help me bring my luggage down but they didn’t have nobody. There weren’t enough luggage carts so I had to wait for a while for other customers to return them. Overall, I will never stay here again.
- 4/5
Ample space to park but you get charged? That’s some bulls**t. Or you can park off the property but why would you risk that. Our room smelled like urine and when we brought up to the front desk, the guy that cleans rooms had an attitude. The front desk girl and guy were kind enough to offer another room and it was clean and smelled great! Close to the airport so that’s a plus for anyone here for work or visiting.
- 5/5
I enjoyed the time I spent over there. Everything was fine. I do wish to come back and will also recommend this hotel to everyone
- 1/5
The carpet was filthy, stains and gum or candy stuck on it. The continental breakfast was not provided and no compensation was made, the price remained the same. Majority of staff working the desk was rude and unprofessional. There was one professional one on the night we checked in.
- 5/5
Every thing we're fine. I enjoyed the stay and I wish to come back
- 3/5
Hotel is ok however, this young man (Jamal) I think was his name (Indian descendant) behind the counter customer service attitude should be checked. He was rude over the phone with another customer while I was waiting to be checked in and his attitude was no different when it was my turn to get help because I simply asked him why it wasn’t mentioned on line anywhere that parking wasn’t free for this establishment? His answer was paid, be towed or go find another hotel. Not good at all.
- 4/5
It was very clean and the room was nice, with nice soaps and shampoo, but not having a mini fridge or microwave in the room made the food options expensive as we had to order in food multiple times. The staff was friendly and got a shuttle directly to our terminal. The driver was really nice! He even waited just for me to say goodbye to my husband and take me back to the hotel!
- 4/5
Overall the stay was good to me. I will come back, nice staff.
- 4/5
Good location but not any surrounding amenities. Very small lobby, no breakfast. Good location for one night if you need to be close to the Airport.
- 3/5
2.) I was told that shuttle from the airport comes every 20 min - it took 55 min in a freezing temperature. Apparently, they were saving money and using Holliday Inn's Shuttle and their Shuttle was just parked. Do not count on transportation. Room was clean, but hallways look bad and they also play music in a hallways all the time.
- 3/5
room was clean, but drafty... had to turn the heat way up to stay warm, shuttle drivers were nice and friendly. Overall an okay stay...
- 4/5
Very comfortable accommodations. Our room was conveniently situated. Service was polite and helpful.
- 4/5
nice hotel, rooms are small. they have a motion activated light system with glaring overhead lights so if u get up in the dark, it comes on and lights up the whole room, not exactly restful for your bed partner! Front desk said they could supply a cover for the motion activation feature upon demand.
- 3/5
hotel seems run down
- 5/5
Good customer service from staff on duty.pleasant and receptive
- 4/5
My first time here half this home is for homeless people the other half for eating guest.
- 4/5
Cool
- 3/5
near airport. takes inly 10 minutes from the hotel
- 1/5
The pictures are very misleading. The hotel is in a very run down area and I didn't feel safe to leave my room. The room is extremely small.
- 1/5
not nice to stay at Depressing It's better to stay somewhere in the city or Brooklyn My flight was rescheduled 24 hours later so I took that Hotel It was the nearest
- 1/5
Too bad, because I liked to stay at Best Western. When I complained about stains on bedding, a person brought me bedding, most of which also had stains. He said to change it myself and said that it's ok that it has stains, because it had been brought from laundry. The website said that breakfast is included. They didn't have a breakfast. I had to order it with extra pay and room delivery. It was one of the reasons why I chose it. They said that it's a covid time and they don't have it. When I asked why they didn't remove it from their amenities, they didn't have an answer. Other hotels with that option have breakfast to go, this Best Western didn't. I asked when the shuttle goes to airport. A person at reception said every half an hour, like 10, 10:30 etc. The check out is 12, so I checked out 5 min before 12 and asked when is the next shuttle? The driver said there is no shuttle at 12. I asked where I can wait till the next one: is there any cafe or something nearby? He said he doesn't know and doesn't care, and I can wait wherever I want. He drove me at airport at 12:05pm or so, but it made me feel bad about the experience. The room cost was $113, the dinner is about $30, they charged $162.89 where did other charges came from? Very bad experience. I would recommend don't stay here. They ruined my opinion about Best Western chain.
- 5/5
Good clean facility, pleasant staff. Parking should be included.
- 3/5
al lot of homeless hanging around I did notbfell comfortable just waling a blockdown for a cup of coffee
- 5/5
“Best” Best Western I’ve ever stayed in.
- 3/5
Hotel is ok but in a soso area. Receptionist could have been more friendly. Other staff was nice
- 4/5
Easy airport access and free shuttle service.,......
- 1/5
Full of dust, chicken pieces everywhere, box springs look like get it from garbage. Light systems very bad, very congested, no room service, nearby no restaurant or stores so we forced to buy from the hotels highly expensive items. Many more
- 4/5
It was fine. Has issues with the shuttle from the airport the day off check in- front seat staff gave me wrong info and the hairdryer wasn’t working. Otherwise was good value and accommodation for the money.
- 2/5
Apart from all that, the room was clean and the bathroom toiletries and complimentary coffee were good. Shuttle system is great with cordial drivers.
- 4/5
It was clean and well kept.
- 1/5
Small room-the room was 20x20 I measured it, just enough space for two people comfortably. Although the room was small-the room was the only place I felt safe with the lock locked and the extra latch on. Walls- the walls are super thin and you can hear everything going on in the hallways. I heard someone on the phone in the hallway using every curse word in the book. Smoking-I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke and smelled smoke coming into my room, I called the front desk and complained, the front desk person said she’ll come check the hallway, she called back and said no one was smoking inside so it maybe coming in from the outside through the ac 🙁🙄. People outside-since we are on the subject of smoking and outside, there are literally groups of 10 people or more hanging outside on the corners of the hotel, playing cards, smoking, drinking, with lawn chairs and folding tables. So ghetto!!!! They had a bbq grill outside for Labor Day! I saw at least 5 Prostitutes working and taking Johns into the hotel. The parking lot is in the back of the hotel and people were back there as well, so if you come back to the hotel by yourself late at night just be aware of your surroundings (scary) Homeless-I later found out that the city of NY has contracted out hotel rooms for homeless people that were in shelters to slow the spread of COVID. So while you pay $100 per night, homeless people are also sharing the same hotel 😳.
- 3/5
I stayed for a week and I would use the shuttle service to get to work in the morning. One particular driver consistently had an issue and attitude because I wanted to be dropped off to the Departures area of my airline (even though he had no issue dropping other passengers at their departure area according to their requested airline). The 3rd time that he was my assigned driver I asked him to please drop me to departures like everyone else and he argued with me. This was honestly my only issue besides not having a refrigerator in the room. All the other drivers were wonderful!
- 4/5
The location of the property is excellent. But horrible and unfriendly front desk staff.
- 2/5
Would never stay there again, there was no refrigerator , but the reservation advertised one.Atmosphere of the hotel was like a homeless shelter, ppl sitting outside with lawn chairs.
