Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its central location and friendly staff, but expressing concerns about the slow elevators, small rooms, and the presence of homeless people around the property. The cleanliness of the rooms is generally praised, but some guests have encountered issues with the air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The breakfast service is also a point of contention, with some guests enjoying it while others find it lacking.

Close to 2 subway stations. Centrally located. A lot of food options nearby The area is very busy and not pleasant in all day/night hours. A lot of noise even late at night. The elevators are very busy, which requires a long wait evet timd you want yo go up or down.

The pictures make the room look spacious, but keep in mind this is New York. The rooms are pretty small and we had to ask the staff multiple times to provide clean blankets as ours were stained and for towels as there were three of us in the room and only enough towels were provided for two people. Once they cleaned the room they didn’t leave any towels for us so we had to go get some.

The hotel provides good quality of bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. The hotel is well located, very clean but the only thing that I didn’t like was having carpet in the bedroom and its looks very old whatever the room is extremely clean the carpet makes it look very old. Carpet on floor, looks old and dirty.

I was in room 1001. The room was very small, but it met my needs. It was impeccably clean. Everything was nice I didn't like all of the characters and their "hustles" hanging around the front door. I did not feel safe entering the hotel.

I like like the hotel. Staff was very nice. However the front of the hotel has benches that seemed to attract a lot of unruly loiterers. They have security guards outside for this reason it appears. Also. Be sure to get a lower floor as there are only 2 elevators and upper floors wait awhile for elevators.

The bathroom had a convenient shower stall with a grab bar and good water pressure. The bathroom vanity had plenty of room for toiletries. The hotel lobby is a problem. When I first entered the lobby, I thought the hotel would be a disaster. I had booked a room at the last minute when my flight was canceled late that night. But I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the room.
- 4/5
I would have given 5 stars except house keeping walked in on me at 1045am (15 min before check out) so I was naked. Otherwise this is an amazing property for the price and I recommend it wholeheartedly
- 1/5
The hotel receptionist service was terrible. I requested the staff her to call a yellow cab for the Laguadia airport, but she called instead a private van. The van driver charged me $103 way too much than usual fare although the staff told me the fare is flat $64. I am not talking about money, I am very upset about the way they deceived me. She did not call a yellow cab as I requested. The private van driver charged me too much fare. I often go to new york city and already know the usual taxi fare to the airport. The $103 is a ridiculous fare amount. I and my family and my friends aren't going to stay in Holiday Inn in the future.

Check in and out was super easy!
- 4/5
I was disappointed with the elevator speed and availability, even at more non-peak times. We’d have to wait upwards of 20 minutes to get on and get a ride down to the lobby from our floor; not at all conducive for those with mobility issues or anyone staying on maybe floor 10 and above. Also, housekeeping schedules were extremely inconsistent and seemingly forgetful with duties. We had to call the front desk daily to get towels, have the trash emptied, etc. as items were either missed or forgotten all together when they made their rounds.
- 4/5
Although the rooms were functional and pleasant, the front of the hotel is a public park where non-guests can hang out, play music, smoke (which they are not supposed to do), giving the entrance a very seedy appearance. Fortunately there is always a security guard standing by. There are only 2 elevators for 30 plus floors and it "dings" at every floor. Also, our room's air conditioning was very loud.
- 4/5
Liked the location, staff, breakfast and clean Small room, bad elevator - too full, had always to wait a lot for it. Too many people outside on the front.

The entrance to the hotel could be cleaned up. There were a lot of people loitering there and it could be intimidating to some guests, especially older ones.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The beds are a little short though, my son's feet hung off the bed. The location is great, it's near several places to eat, the subway, and just a short walk to Time Square and to see a Broadway play. There were benches and places to sit right in front of the hotel and there were always people sitting out there that were not guests of the hotel and were a little sketchy but there was always a security guard standing out there so I didn't feel unsafe. I would stay here again.

The staff is exceptional. I found them professional, attentive, accommodating, efficient and proficient. This extends to the security staff and dining workers. I have no issue with the people who work there and the service they provide. The "curb appeal" is terrible. The homeless and vagrant population leading into the door entrance is very unappealing. They argued, slept and sprawled on the benches, smoked dope (legal in NY), and made for a very unsightly presence. Other hotels a few blocks down don't seem to have this problem. It needs to be rectified.

The place is an absolute joke for what I had to pay for it. Ice machines didn’t work. I had to go up and down floors looking for one that did there’s only two elevators that serviced the place and it has like 30 floors. Would never stay here again.
- 5/5
It was within walking distance of everything in Times Square. Was a 1 min walk from our parking garage. The elevators can be slow, especially with the amount of guests

We arrived at Holiday inn New York Manhattan on April 27th and checked out on April 30th. Our room number was 3404. Me and my granddaughter we departure it she went back to Detroit and I went back to Florida after a few days later she realized that she had a lot of spots all over her body so as Monday she had to wait and make a doctor appointment to see what was going on with her body. After making her doctor appointment Monday the doctor told her that she had bed bugs. We reached out to Holiday inn but they never did answer their phone and we read the reviews of Holiday inn yes it have been bed bugs in that hotel.

Just more elevators but otherwise really really phenomenal location and staff!

Exactly what you need for a trip to NY close to port authority station for ease of getting everywhere you need and just across from Berlina cafe and pizza 👌 really worth a try the food is really good 👍

- 5/5
Staff was very helpful, welcoming and the bag drop facility wirh early check in and late checkout was all very well appreciated and useful.
- 5/5
Spacious regularly cleaned rooms. Nice buffet breakfast
- 4/5
I like the place for my first time visiting New York. Although everything I was expecting to be in the hotel room was not there. I would have wanted a microwave inside the room so people like myself can warm or heat up the food. Other then that it was nice and it had everything else I wanted.
- 4/5
The only problem was having to ask for towels a few times
- 1/5
Some of the staff were very rude & I still didn’t receive my deposit fee back I stayed at a hotel 2 days later & received my payment already but not from this hotel
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities included - coffee machine, iron, ironing board etc. We didn't try the buffet breakfast but it looked really nice and fresh. We did eat several times in Latitude, the restaurant there and the food was really good, the staff were great too. It's a good location within easy walking distance of a subway and they'll let you store your luggage before check in and after check out if you need to. There can be a bit of a wait for the elevator at certain times of day but that didn't bother us too much. All in all we had a great stay and would return if visiting NYC again.
- 3/5
Bed didn’t feel like a king sized bed
- 5/5
Great stay overall — comfortable, good location, everything smooth. Only thing missing? More coffee, please 🙂☕️
- 5/5
The location is fantastic and everything is in reach.
- 4/5
Close to every thing No breakfast
- 4/5
The shower floor has no skid resistant mat or sticky items. No bags in the trash cans. Could not get the room warmer after walking all day in the cold and rain. Lobby was always over crowded and suitcases every where. Elevator was always crowded no matter when we took it. Being charged so much extra for breakfast is not good. The food wasn't HOT either. Very lukewarm if even that. We didn't use the cleaning, but asked for clean towels. She was very caring and gave us fresh towels. The handicap shower bar inside the shower, the covering was broken off. Silver metal round circle part. Needed more hooks for wet towels to dry.
- 3/5
Tight space but it’s NY so I guess that’s what you get. Great location. Clean, just overall average. No major complaints but no shining compliments.
- 5/5
Only two elevators so it’s a line to get in but not bad
- 5/5
The property and room was very clean . Wes rates for 1 night . Good place for and very reasonable price.
- 4/5
Location in New York City. How crowded the elevators were
- 5/5
The beds were super comfortable room was mainly cleaned but you could see stains on some of the surfaces but after a quick wipe it was all good. Great accommodations for luggage after check out.
- 2/5
No breakfast, barely a lobby with no bathroom, vending machine in the lobby did not work. Checked out around 11, tagged our luggage to be left while we walked the city before heading home and for some reason they left half my luggage in the lobby for hours, and the other half was put in a storage closet, so it was temporarily lost. Customer service was terrible.
- 4/5
Place is in a convenient area but not the safest place but it is bot the hotel's fault. Its really noisey and hard to get good night sleep.

Great location. Staff was nice.
- 3/5
The location of the hotel is awesome. The room smaller than expected. The ice machine wasn't working and the coffee machine had to be replaced. I thought breakfast was included but it was not which is better because I saw what they were offering and it wasn't great. There are plenty of choices outside and nearby. I recommend the hotel for its location but otjer than that I would say I saw much better service.
- 3/5
Don’t like the public park out front of the hotel, smells like urine and poop!… bums hang outside smoking drugs and cigarettes…. Staff was very nice though!!! Not much they can do but the optics are very intimidating and hostile…. Rooms were very tight and small. I would not recommend our family of three only for a single person with a one night minimum…..

This location is in the heart of the tourist spots in Manhattan. But somehow made my wife and I feel above the hustle and bustle and really kept us happy our entire time in New York.
- 5/5
Great location - next to subway, easy check in. Lobby is spacious, front desk staff is friendly and easy going. Room was clean, linens were fresh and clean. If your focus is on in-room entertainment, the options are a little slim. The television is small and there is no access to any streaming services, nontheless it was adequate for my stay. Overall, I would recommend and will definitely be returning.
- 5/5
Staff extremely helpful friendly. Room was clean. Would stay again
- 5/5
Only 2 things i would point out is the beds are small. At 5'6 my feet hung over the bottom of the double bed. And at the 23rd floor i would just say if you are sensitive to noises while sleeping try to book a room not road/street side because you will hear the city from high up.
- 5/5
Rocky and the rest of the staff made our week. We went to celebrate my niece’s birthday and he surprised us by decorating our room. Everyone was friendly and the hotel was close to everything.
- 4/5
The room had some minor plumbing issues that I repeatedly informed the front desk about, but they remained unresolved throughout my five-day stay. However, the room was thoroughly cleaned each day. I wasn’t told there was breakfast included in the room rate?
- 4/5
Nice comfortable room.
- 5/5
The hotel was just amazing. The room was clean and well maintained throughout my stay. The staff was accommodating and the meals at the restaurant was well worth it all. Perfect location with lots of places to eat and tour around.
- 2/5
2 elevators for the hotel. If you are on a mid or lower floor, by the time the elevator gets to you it will be full. We were here during Christmas and the had 2 people at the front desk but generally only 1 person was assisting with check-in. So another long wait. If you stay here, just expect to wait for things.
- 5/5
The hotel was warm and welcoming. The place was clean only a bit small.
- 4/5
.
- 3/5
They tried to charge me $24 for breakfast so I didn't eat at the hotel. I found a garage to park in that was close to the hotel.
- 4/5
Two elevators are not enough. Allowing any person in front of the hotel feels risky to the guests.
- 5/5
Great location, lots of everything nearby.
- 5/5

- 5/5
The hotel was very centrally located. The rooms while small, were nice and well maintained.
- 5/5
Very clean, great staff
- 5/5
Everything was clean and smooth.
- 3/5
Room was as expected - small but clean. Bag check was excellent. Only complaint was the elevators. Inadequate for the number of guests the hotel hold. You need to allow 15-20 minutes to take the elevators each time. We were on the 25th floor and we often had to wait for multiple lifts to pass before squeezing into one. They are extremely slow and if you were on a lower level you would be waiting even longer. So either request a lower floor and use the stairs, or request a level higher than 25th!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
No real issues.. Would prefer a kettle rather than coffee maker as it would be easier to make tea and coffee.
- 1/5
Did not even make it to the hotel due to flight cancellations 3 days prior. Need to get refunds since we did not even get to use what we pay for.
- 5/5
No problems. Room was clean. Beds very comfortable.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful
- 3/5
The hotel itself was fine. Very small rooms but that's ok. 2 small elevators for 36 floors with 8 rooms per floor. Waited 45 minutes for an elevator one day and decided to just walk down the stairs. It was really nice they provided water upon request. Since we walked a lot, that was nice at the end of the day. Restaurant is absolutely horrible. Already left them a negative review on their google page. Not worth the breakfast. Don't recommend getting it if you stay here. Go out. But stay here is you plan to be out all day. Bed is cozy and room stays cool if that is important to you. It was to us. Thank you Holiday Inn.

Rooms were great, location is perfect for walking. Only complaint was the elevators are tiny so when everyone is checking out, it takes a long time to get on one.

- 5/5

- 4/5

- 5/5
The room was modern, and the in-house restaurant was great
- 4/5
Not the hotel's fault, but loud nighttime construction work made it hard to sleep. The toilet also made a strange screeching sound. Staff was friendly, and helpful. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was really good as far as free hotel breakfasts go.
- 4/5
Room was clean and quiet. Did not use amenities. Check in/out was easy. Only negative was the person who asked for a tip for looking for my luggage. At first he did not seem convinced that my luggage was stored in the luggage room , but after someone else who worked there asked me what time I stored my luggage, the first person resumed looking for my luggage.
- 5/5

- 4/5
The only two issues were plugs not working and our card had to re programmed at least once a day. Everything else was great
- 5/5
Great location a little bit sketchy however outside with good police presence closer to Penn Station in New York Knicks not exposed to Times Square great view of Empire State building from most rooms
- 5/5
Staff has to use sand elevators in this very busy hotel, which can clog the lobby/ elevators. Other than that was great
- 5/5
Near a ton of restaurants, attractions, and the hotel has a bar and restaurant right inside.
- 5/5
Great food around with perfect location to Times Square!
- 5/5
There were plenty of shops within walking distance and the breakfast voucher for the Tic Tok Diner's food was excellent; as well as, the food choices. It was in 1 block walking distance from the hotel.
- 5/5
Out stay at your hotel was a pleasant one. Your staff and accomodations met our expectations. The room was just as it was advertised. The cleanliness and up to date amenities met our approval as well. We will keep your hotel as one of our top choices for future visits to the city. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Great location. The hotel had everything you need.
- 4/5
Great location hotel had everything you need staff really polite very helpful ! Only downside was the cannabis shop across the road seemed to entice people to sit at the seating area smoking weed ! Other than that we thought it was great value on a budget!
- 4/5
Very accessible to the city!
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
Downside was that open front seating area attracted homeless. Main door didn't work entire week and elevators were a huge bottleneck and delay. Housekeeping staff made this much worse by propping elevator doors open continuously. They also knocked on door to do housekeeping early in the day when a "Do Not Disturb" sign was out. Net-net functional with no real sense of customer care. Oh well, it's a Holiday Inn at a good price. What should one expect?
- 5/5

Room itself was clean with a brilliant view.Unfortunately the size was not suitable for a family of four to feel comfortable. There were only 2 of us myself husband and 14 year old son both of whom are over 6ft not enough space. interconnecting rooms would have been perfect but none to offer. The bathroom clean but felt like it was actually part of the bedroom with its sliding door and not so discreet blurred glass you could still see everything. Air con / heating dreadful noisey we complained but nothing was done we turned it off in the end. Overall location perfect room far to small to be advertised to sleep 4 as a family room. Breakfast was awful cold every morning especially eggs. Toaster was quick and done the job. Lovely staff at breakfast. We didnt stay in the room for long as we were exploring from noon till late so managed.
- 2/5
The breakfast food was quite poor. There are only two elevators, which are insufficient in the morning. You have to wait a long time to use them. The Wi-Fi was down for two full days. On our last day, someone knocked on our door around 8 a.m. to ask what time we planned to check out, which I found very annoying. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room! Great Staff! Good toiletries...TV was great. Shower was great
- 1/5
The aroma of the room, carpet etc… was horrendous. This place has the 80’s vibes for those gritty tourists
- 5/5
Our rooms were spotless. We also eat at the restaurant and everything we ordered was excellent. I am definitely staying there again.
- 5/5
Staff at front desk were very helpful (though they need two people there at night - having one on the desk meant it took a while to get seen despite the staff member being excellent and efficient). Close to Penn Station. Excellent value.
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff.
- 5/5
i had a nice experience

- 5/5
Great stay at holiday inn. The fact that all the staff were so nice stood out! Thank you!
- 4/5
Room clean and spacious for NYC addition of fridge and coffee machine big plus, only downside slow elevators and lack of storage space, excellent central location
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
The location was Perfect!! The gym was useful... They had a place to store my luggage after check out while waiting on my scheduled grayhound bus which was leaving from Port Authority only 4 min walk away The 24 hour 7-11 store right next door was great for late night snacks I really enjoyed my stay :) I will definitely stay again..
- 5/5
The room was nice and warm, loved the shower and friendly staff. I do have a negative about the breakfast being an additional charge but every hotel is different
- 5/5
All of the above…great location, reasonable price, welcoming/very nice staff, fast elevator, nice/clean room, comfortable bed…exceeded my expectations!
- 3/5
Room was good for what we paid for.
- 4/5
Overall good
- 5/5
the room was very clean and the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and great staff!
- 5/5
The room was clean and housekeeping came every day. The front desk staff was very helpful and the luggage room was very convenient. There were three of us and we had plenty of space.
- 1/5
The room was not that bad but they didnt give the security deppsit back.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Recommend it.

Room was very clean and restroom was also clean. Every staff I met was nice. Location is best.
- 5/5
Simple and effective
- 5/5
Muy cómodo y un buen servicio espero ir pronto
- 3/5
The room was well maintained and we had a good night sleep. Our experience and problem was with the elevators during checkout. One of the elevators was out of service and we had to go down the flight of stairs from the 16th floor with our suitcases because the elevators were not stopping in our floor.
- 5/5
Location was great, room was spotless, staff were super helpful and friendly would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Room was nice, view was nice.

The room was perfect! The dove soap was the best addition. So grateful for that! The staff
- 5/5
Room was clean every day, the staff was excellent
- 5/5
Clean room they didn’t tell me anything about breakfast
- 5/5
Wish I knew his name! Even the security there gives you a great treatment
- 5/5
Lovely, comfortable hotel in good condition. I really appreciated my request for late check out being accommodated!
- 4/5
great area, clean and excellent service. But there are only 2 elevators for the entire hotel and take a lot of time to use the elevator
- 5/5
Clean room, near a lot of great sites
- 5/5
Great location. The staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
The staff was rude. They opened my door at 9 am for housekeeping after I said I was good. They knocked once and then after no answer they decided to opened it when I was on my underwear. The following morning there was no hot water so I couldn’t shower. And I hurt my arm with a tiny metal thing they have on the bathroom door to hold your towels. Definitely not going back there.
- 5/5
Very clean. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet each morning. Food was good. Staff was welcoming.
- 5/5
Muy céntrico, limpio y cómodo. La vista fenomenal

- 1/5
Elevator takes forever and the breakfast was bad
- 2/5

- 5/5
Staff was really nice and I like the seating area outside
- 3/5
We liked staying there
- 5/5
Great hotel - nice size room and easy to get to subway. Lots of great restaurants and close to our shows!
- 4/5
Location was good close to tourist attractions, public transports. Staff on the last two days were attentive and friendly. Room was smaller than expected no space for luggages or to move around.
- 3/5
It was little to hard to find it. The front desk service was they were accommodating for a late check out. The room was nice and toasty when we enter. The bed slept well. The only problem i had was the water was ice cold so it was hard to shower. But great location
- 4/5
Room was clean

- 4/5
Clean room, staff was friendly
- 4/5
The room was clean
- 5/5
Hotel has a good location on 1 block from times sq plenty of bars and restaurants around lobby is a bit small and has a few vagrants who hang around at night but they do not bother guests staff are friendly and welcoming breakfast is adequate, bar is vey good and clean happy prices very cheap , rooms aren’t the biggest but are clean and modern , bathroom decent size with all the commodities you require overall wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay at this hotel again but everything always depends on price and considering we paid £630 for 5 nights b & b including flights it was a steal and that was for a twin double room
- 4/5
Okay property. Room incredibly small (especially for the price). Was on the 5th floor and heard the traffic all night.
- 1/5
Room was not ready until after 5. Bathroom was dirty, only 1 elevator worked causing a line everytime. Held funds on cc for 6 days and counting still waiiting on that to be removed. +. Still waiting for acredit they said they would provide. The restaurant staff was very nice and super friendly.
- 5/5
Room was clean, great for last minute stay after walking around the city for hours and not wanting to drive home!
- 4/5
Great staff. Great room. Super clean. Noisy. Slow elevators.
- 4/5
The location is ideal for walking to most of the attractions. 10/15 minutes for most. Also PENN station is less than 10min for arriving or travelling further.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful 5 stars
- 3/5
Cons- small lobby, long wait for elevator
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 2/5
Now the bad - There is absolutely NO lobby…. Only two elevators and had to wait several minutes each way. The lobby was so small people waiting for the elevators would stand outside…. There is a big column in the middle with about 4 seats and that’s it. Nowhere to sit or hang out when waiting or just to get out of the room for a minute. They had more vending machines when you walk in then seats…. They need to have a bigger LOBBY for the hotel guests…
- 4/5
Clean room
- 3/5
The room was clean and well maintained and the bathroom was clean but not very organized, also the staff was not very welcoming
- 5/5
El personal es muy amable, las facilidades limpias, cuartos cómodos, buena localización.
- 5/5
It was a nice stay, the hotel was very clean and personnel very attentive. We also enjoy as it was close to the train station and commutes were not bad at all.
- 3/5
Negatives- waited 25 minutes for the elevator, hotel staff and corporate staff were rude with some exceptions which made it not as welcoming, would most likely book with a different hotel next time
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean rooms, fantastic maid service- but a Huge caveat. There are only two elevators and it takes at least 10-minutes to wait for elevators- elevators are very crowded. Steps away from major sightseeing. Room is tiny - but all in all decent value for the price
- 3/5
Breakfast N/a Check in easy
- 4/5
Clean room but we paid for a room with a view of the city and we don’t feel we got that.
- 3/5
2 elevators only for a huge building
- 5/5
The staff were good and the room is clean
- 5/5
La habitación, impecable y personal amable

- 4/5
Friendly staff and clean rooms!
- 5/5
Excelent service and a comfy room. Great place to stay.
- 4/5
From someone who typically stays in luxury hotels, I was pleasantly surprised by this Holiday Inn. The location is great if you are doing the tourist spots like Time Square and Rockefeller Center, there is a parking garage around the corner that gives a discounted rate with validation and there is security 24 hours. The staff was great, the beds and pillows were comfortable. The showers were nice and everything was clean. The only downside we experienced was taking the elevators at busy times. We were on the 3rd floor so one morning when I was going to lobby with my bags, I had to wait for 6 elevators coming from top floors to be able to get the lobby as the were all packed. That only happened once though. Solid stay for that part of the city at that price point.
- 4/5
Staff
- 3/5
Staff was very, very rude. Checked our bags while we went out for the day and our luggage got lost and the lady was so hateful didn’t wanna help us. Didn’t even wanna look for our bags got mad because we asked her why she didn’t keep our luggage together. Rolled her eyes at us the whole time very short and hateful.
- 3/5
I requested an early check in and was told on the phone the room would be ready when I arrived. It wasn't, but was told it would in the next 1/2 hour. Over an hour later, I went in to check in and it still wasn't ready. The front desk clerk took so long looking for an available room, I received a $115 parking ticket.
- 5/5
yes
- 5/5
Yes the room was always clean. So much so when i reached home had to adjust to cleaning for myself
- 3/5
Dated but clean. Very expensive night for amenities! Staff could be more friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The room was small, but very clean and renovated; friendly staff. Location is amazing.
- 3/5
Room was okay. Very small, beds are very short. I’m 5’5 and my feet hung off. Toilet needs replaced.
- 5/5
Nice beautiful
- 5/5
Nice property. They definitely need a sign for the entrance. Its very easy to miss. The front desk staff were PHENOMENAL. I had an issue with my card and Sharee was super patient, helpful and friendly. Efficient too. Rocky was a GEM and very very nice. Im from NYC AND a Hospitality Director, so they made me proud and happy with their service. It was a quick stay for me but a great one.
- 4/5
All good
- 5/5
Fabulous location and staff
- 5/5
Very convenient last minute stay. Room was nice!
- 2/5
I think I stayed on the 4th floor. Sound was AWFUL. Constant slamming of a hallway door at all hours. Couldn't sleep as a result. Then the A/C (or heat) in the room kept kicking on, and it was so, so loud. I wanted to cry by the morning. I got so little sleep during my stay.
- 2/5
Our room does not have wifi. The staff said they were resetting the modem and never work. Staff did not did anything else to help. They offered me to go downstairs to connect. It was impossible as u was traveling with my young kids. I was not able to work as they was no connection.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Curtains need to be replaced. Little interaction with staff so can comment on that.
- 2/5
Very small room. No water pressure.
- 3/5
The room and staff were nice. I don’t think the beds were really king size. They seemed king width but more like a full in length.
- 5/5
Super location !!!! In the center of New York entertainment !!! Great room, clean , comfortable king size bed! And check in fast and very kind concierge !!! 100% recommended !! Thank you
- 4/5
Location.Very close to everything.
- 5/5
It was great! Great hospitality and clean rooms!!
- 5/5
Excellent service from checking in to checking out. The front staff was friendly, courteous and professional. They assisted me with securing reliable transportation to the airport on my departure day. The cleaning staff was very attentive and prompt with any needs our room had. The hotel was clean, safe and located in the heart of many local NY attractions. I'd happily stay here again. Thank you!
- 1/5
Date was incorrect, the staff couldn’t accommodate the room or price. Room was tiny for four people and had to pay double for one night. I couldn’t contact you guys. Was a pain
- 2/5
The rooms was not very clean.
- 2/5
The area was noisy, room was not clean, and stated laundry facilities are non-existent. Complained upon arrival but was effectively laughed at. Upon (early) check-out (without any refund), Sheree was excellent, however by then it was sadly too late.
- 3/5
Staff was very courteous. King size bed seemed wide enough but short. TV remote did not work well, and there appeared to be spots from prior spillage around the coffee area. Loved the location of the hotel near Penn Station.
- 5/5
Room was clean. The location was prefect (a few blocks front times square and madison square garden). Staff was friendly. Didn't eat at the bar but did have happy hour drinks which were good.
- 5/5
Clean room restaurant inside excellent
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Highly recommend. Everything was clean. Rooms were nice and loved how they provided shampoo/conditioner/body soap. Used the coffee machine in room. Nice having security guard on duty at all times and locked elevator. Felt safe. Highly recommend this location. Perfect to time square and multiple subway entrances. Right next to Port Authority subway station that connects you to all the lines. Perfect location to food. Perfect to all site seeing spots. Definitely staying here again.
- 5/5
I have stayed at this hotel before and chose it again without hesitation. The rooms and bathrooms are very smart and beds are so comfortable. All staff are very helpful and it is very handy for walking to all areas of midtown. It is also not far even with suitcases from Penn station which is easy to get to via train from the airport. I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again if I’m lucky enough to visit New York in the future
- 4/5
Good location, clean rooms and polite staff.
- 3/5
Decent hotel, rooms are small
- 5/5
Customer service was fantastic here! Room was clean and they were very accommodating
- 5/5
Staff were great. Great area. Hotel was clean and nice.
- 5/5
Great location and very nice room! Did not have the breakfast, since it was full charge and there are so many more options in the city. There is some loitering outside in the front patio of the bldg, but there was a cop outside to keep an eye on things. We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
clean room, easy check in/out, good amenities
- 4/5
Clean room and very good location.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The room was spotless and clean.
- 5/5
Room was a bit small (expected in NYC) but very clean and modern. Staff was professional and helpful. I was accommodated with late check out which was great! I would definitely recommend!
- 3/5
Check out is at 11am and there is NO space available to work on a laptop or take an online meeting any where in this hotel.
- 5/5
Perfect hotel in a great location. Breakfast also was good.
- 4/5
Not sure if it was the elevator or the water pipes but loud knocking noise off and on all through the night. Phone in room did not work. Stay either on upper floor (so you can get elevator) or 2nd floor (do you can take the stairs). 2 elevators for 36 floors and staff. Security out front was great. Staff very nice.
- 4/5
The staff We’re amazing and immediately responsive to our needs!
- 5/5
Clean room, staffs are friendly. Good place for long stay.
- 3/5
Need elevator
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Great place to stay for a last-minute work trip. Front desk was great, and upgraded me to a room with views of the Empire State. Would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
Extremely helpful there are people outside homeless people whatever they do hang out out there the hotel itself. The room were very very small than that I would not stay there it is not for a family vacation and just know things there are very very very expensive like 7-Eleven and they wanted four dollars for a single simply lemonade the restaurants are also very expensive chicken tenders for $18. You got four tenders and it was in this wasn’t inside the breakfast outside in the hotel everything was so extremely expensive
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 5/5
My last night in NYC was saved thanks to HI at Times Square! My husband had us booked all week in a Super 8 in the Bronx. We really wanted to stay near Times Square so this was ideal! We felt safe and they held our luggage until 5pm the day we flew out which was incredible!
- 4/5

- 4/5
Didn't eat at the restaurant
- 5/5
Amazing loved it
- 4/5
My wife and I were treated well by staff, especially Rocky at the front desk and Jr from security. However, both my wife and I had some type of allergic reaction to something in your room, 1907. It was probably something in the carpet or the bed sheets. My wife had a few bumps on her face and I had bumps on my knee, feeling itchy. Excellent staff, just may want to address the cause of irritation in the room. Thank you.
- 5/5
Great location with great food options and attractions in walking distance. Super clean. The area in front is a « public space » for some reason and at times people are loitering in front, smoking, etc. There is always a security guard in the public space so that is very reassuring. Don’t let the public space deter you from this gem!
- 4/5
Rooms were clean, great location.
- 3/5
Very close to the subway and very convenient around the city. The room is clean but there’s no hot water in the bathroom. Staff asked for security deposit and said that it’ll be refunded upon checking out but 5 weeks later there’s still no refund. Very bad.
- 3/5
The carpet has some smell. The elevators are not enough for the size of the hotel, specially at check out time when we had to wait for several minutes to get into one due to lack of space.
- 4/5
The onsite restaurant was pretty good as well. The lobby is tiny and kind of shabby looking. The biggest issue is that the lobby is set way back from Broadway with what might be a nice sitting area outside if there was any control of it. As it is, it ends up being a public gathering area making entering and exiting the hotel unpleasant at times. We had to leave at 1:00 am for a delayed flight and stepped out into a group of 10-15 arguing youths screaming obscenities at one another and seemingly on the verge of breaking into an all-out brawl. If the hotel were to expand the lobby out to the street it would greatly improve the entire experience and remove the gathering space that attracted the loud, obnoxious group of youths.
- 4/5
Internet was great. Food wonderful and the lady that cleaned out room was fantastic. She did a great job.
- 5/5
Also have dinner at hotel restaurant. We really recomend it.
- 2/5
Front desk was rude
- 3/5
Rooms found dirty but booked because of location.
- 3/5
Breakfast was disappointing however we slept well bed was comfortable bathroom was tiny
- 3/5
Rooms were tiny but clean. Hotel is close to a lot of things too. Got assaulted outside the hotel with flailing rocks by bystanders because security wasn’t paying attention or actively on duty. Definitely needs some work.
- 4/5
Only two elevators for a very large hotel, so allow for extra time. All other aspects were perfectly functuonal.
- 5/5
clean and conveniently located
- 4/5
The only negatives are small: the elevator is slow, there’s always a group hanging around outside the lobby (but there was a security guard 24/7). I expected my room view to be the Empire State Building (as the property advertised). My room view was the inner closed in “courtyard” area of old buildings.
- 4/5
The room was very small and the beds were very small. Other than that, the staff, location, and security were very good.
- 4/5
Clean rooms and plenty of restaurants near by! I also loved how close it was to time square
- 4/5
The room was clean, team members were knowledgeable and quick. Many shops very near. Parking right around the corner.
- 5/5
Very nice location
- 2/5
I will not be coming back here
- 4/5
Staff was excellent. Location was great, a lot of shopping, restaurants walking distance. Biggest issue at this stay was the waiting on the elevator. There are only (2) that service entire hotel. Other than that, it was great.
- 1/5
Very ghetto property and was dirty in many areas
- 5/5
I love New York. This trip was special. Their king size bed seems a bit small, but it was comfy.
- 3/5
Near by time square
- 2/5
They shouldn’t even be in business.
- 5/5
i was nice
- 4/5
Staff was awesome
- 4/5
Good!
- 2/5
nothing
- 4/5
Great
- 4/5
I arrived late at night but it was easy to find and the hotel was acommodating.
- 5/5
Absolutely the BEST LOCATION!!!
- 3/5
The ac wasn’t working when I was there
- 2/5
The respect customer before payment after payment nothing
- 4/5
Positives:- the room was very clean, bed very comfortable, room made up and cleaned daily, room was on 20th floor and very quiet. Breakfast was predictable but did the job- scrambled eggs, turkey sausages, bacon, bread/toast, porridge, hot drinks and orange juice. Location is great, walking distance to Broadway, empire state and many more popular sites. 7/11 shop right next door. Negatives:- Decor is getting a little tired in the rooms however it was very clean. No water dispenser in lobby. We brought refillable bottles and used the water dispenser in the gym which is on the lower level but the lobby would have been more convenient. There can be a long wait for lifts in the morning so allow time. Overall would recommend and would stay again if visiting NYC. Comfortable clean room, good location for exploring the sites.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 5/5
Overall good experience
- 4/5
The room is small but manageable. The lobby’s so crowded coz its too small. Elevator takes forever. You cant hang out in the lobby coz outside the hotel theres some people who is not a guest who just sitting there. We seen one who's doing drug. But I guess they are harmless because of the security from hotel. Other than that its good for the price.
- 5/5
Cost clean
- 5/5
Everything was amazing except all the men that sit in the front of the hotel smoking not just tobacco. At times there was more than 10 of them
- 5/5
Good location
- 3/5
That said, there are drawbacks. The rooms are very small, and with only two elevators serving 36 floors, the wait times can be frustrating – often it’s quicker to take the stairs. The biggest concern, however, is at the front of the hotel. Groups of local people frequently gather outside, sitting on the hotel’s chairs (and even bringing their own). While the security staff do their best, this creates an uncomfortable environment for guests entering and leaving the property. The fact that constant security presence is required highlights the issue. Until the hotel addresses this problem, I would not recommend staying here, which is a real shame given the positives.
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
This hotel is fine if you know going in what you’re getting into. It is near Times Square and very near Port Authority. PA is very convenient to get to airports, but like many major bus stations if it’s not located in great neighborhood. The rooms are very small, but the only really bad thing about this hotel is there are two elevators which are massively over subscribed during rush-hours which are about 12 hours a day.
- 5/5
Good for solo or couple
- 5/5
Came up for a quick visit but was looking for a reasonable priced hotel near the bus stop and central location. This hotel was perfect. Room was great. Small quite comfortable and really clean and modern. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly and kind. Security guards were very friendly. I’d definitely stay here again
- 5/5
This place was iverall a very convenient location for attracactions and the subway. The rooms were very nice and clean.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was great to be able to leave my baggage after my stay ended to explore times square before leaving the city.
- 3/5
Door lock didn’t work, maintenance guy it’s normal. It’s not. Water pressure was bad.
- 5/5
The staff were very nice.
- 2/5
Queen beds were too small , me and my son are 6feet and we have queen beds at home as well , but in this hotel my legs were 4 inches out
- 3/5
Good accommodation, the personal very professional and nice...Homeless People in The surroundings smoking marihuana an drunk sleeping in the common hotel areas
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
It's easily accessible and it's at the city centre. Using the elevator during checkout was a herculean task. It took me 45 minutes to get to get on the elevator during checkout. Also, the breakfast offered at the hotel was disappointing.
- 3/5
The bathroom was falling apart, and the sheets were not that clean
- 5/5
easy access and close to everything
- 5/5
Everything was great just wish there was another elevator
- 5/5
Hustle and bustle of tourist area, hidden gem property
- 3/5
Liked that there was security but sucked that there needed to be security. The outside area gets flooded. The very long wait for the elevators!!!!!
- 5/5
The only thing we did not like was the homeless outside the hotel, it made us feel unsafe and very bad influence. They are all in the influence of sustance abuse and in some instances you can not get easily to the entrance to the hotel because they are the obstacle.
- 5/5
Muy recomendable
- 4/5
We loved the hotel, it was in the heart of NYC, could easily walk to the West and East side. Hot breakfast was very good. Staff very open and friendly.
- 1/5
I would never stay there again. Disgusting bed bugs. Drug addicts out front 24/7. Unsafe feeling for children and adults. The bugs were all over in the bed had to switch rooms 3 times. Would recommend staying outside the City. Time Square to be exact is not good.
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
Appreciate the security; felt safe during our visit. Called maintenance the first night as dead bolt didn't work. Someone did come up to look at it and said he'd be back the next day to fix. Never fixed during our stay plus the toilet seat was broken. Housekeeping did a good job but forgot the shower mat two days. Thanks for making us feel safe.
- 1/5
First, the area felt sketchy, and the hotel itself had poor security—no proper front desk monitoring, broken locks on side doors, and questionable individuals lingering around the property. My room had a malfunctioning deadbolt, and when I reported it, the staff brushed it off as "no big deal." To make matters worse, I overheard other guests complaining about theft in their rooms. When I asked management about security protocols, they were dismissive and unhelpful. I didn’t feel safe staying there, so I packed up and left within hours of checking in. Wasting money on a hotel I couldn’t even stay in was frustrating, but my safety comes first. Avoid this place if you value security and peace of mind. **Zero stars – would not recommend to anyone.**
- 5/5
This hotel has 37 floors but only 2 small elevators which are always packed. Luckily our room was on the 5th floor so going up we were able to get on the elevator. Coming down was a different story. The room was very small but we were only there to sleep so it was basically ok. The bartender in the bar, Mehdi, was top notch and very friendly. We enjoyed talking to him.
- 4/5
The stay was good. I dislike that people sitting around out front.
- 5/5
The property is on 8th Ave. between 38th & 39th. If you are looking for a convenient location, this could be your stay. It's four blocks from Penn Station and three from Port Authority, so it's easy access from any of the modes of transportation without needing to hop on the subway or in a cab. For dining in a pinch, the area has a lot of great quicky options, if you're not looking to go far from the hotel. Otherwise, you're in NYC so explore the dining options. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the room was smallish, but it works. When leaving the hotel, plan on some extra time since there are only two small elevators and it could take a while to get one with room for you and your party (Don't leave around check out time, it took me twenty minutes to find room for me and my backpack). The only real warning is about the street noise. New York is the "City that Never Sleeps" and while businesses will close, the traffic and local outdoor residents don't necessarily do so at hours you wish they would, even if you're staying on the 22nd floor. You might find quieter locations, but you will definitely lose the convenience that I first mentioned.

First it was hard to find no sign second there was people selling drugs outside in front of the doors a lot of people looked scared going up to the door. It was clean inside the hotel but as for service the maids should know how many people that are actually in the room there was 4 people but only put 2 towels even when we left for the day they only put 2 new towels no wash clothes

I love staying at Hoilday inn. We stayed there during our NY visit in Christmas and now during the summer. We really enjoy that it’s walking distance to timesquare.

Amazing experience. Close to all shops and right in time square.

The staff are great! the room is clean. The location is good except the outside of the property is terrible. A lot of homeless people smoking marijana

Place is conveniently located, but lot of people sitting right outside the hotel makes it a little uncomfortable in the night.

Parking is something to think about.

The staff were very nice and helpfull .

For your own safety, please don't stay here. The group that lingers outside requires a security guard inside and outside the hotel. The parking they encourage is not open 24/7 and my husband almost got mugged. Our window could not shut fully. The attached restaurant staff acts inconvenienced and will ignore you. Choose another hotel.

Room was really smal!. Could not get up and walk from between as it was so close to the Air conditioner. Have to wait for at least 10 minutes to get to where you want to go in the elevator. Only positive was it was close to Times Square.

Great staff. Friendly and efficient. Did their best to fix an AC that was not cooling sufficiently. Even with a bit of a homeless situation outside the entrance, we never felt unsafe because of the security presence provided by the hotel.

Clean and convenient.

What I liked was the hotel personnel, the restaurant and the convenience, how walkable it was to everything. What I did like so much was the people hanging outside of the hotel; otherwise it was great.

Appreciate the early check-in and locker storage facilities.

Check in & check out were fast and efficient

My only concern was the hang out in front of the hotel, people passed out, being rowdy getting high. As soon as you come out in the morning it starts.

The room was nice and quiet. I asked for a blanket and they brought me a duvet cover and the inside of the duvet, not inside. I did not eat there so I cannot share how the food was. My room was high enough and away from the street, so i didnt hear the sirens ir people.

Outside patio entrance , homeless hang out and sleeping

Overall good placecto stay
- 2/5
so many people hang around the entrance, rolling blunts, loud music, cursing, smoking weed. we were welcomed with the smoke. we didn't feel safe entering or exiting. Hotel should clear the entrance.
- 3/5
Location was close to everything just a lot of people loitering around the hotel. Also A/C was only at 50%? they said half was cool half was heat but room was hot.

Thank you for your hospitality! Everything is great, except. If breakfast was free, as it is written in the description of the hotel services, it would be a nice moment. Breakfast in this hotel is paid.

Conveniently located just off Broadway. That being said, they forced me to pay for the room again as there was an issue with earlier payment being in question. It was resolved, but not for about 2 weeks. The room was small and cramped and difficult to get around in. They checked bags for free. The outside courtyard gathers a collection of interesting individuals throughout the day and evening. I would pay more, honestly, and stay in something that offers a little more legroom and doesn't feel so cramped.

Room was as expected though very cramped and difficult to move around. Also would not recommend this place for families as the entrance is very dirty and not friendly.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and rooaccommodations. Great location for events we were attending and walkable to sightseeing
- 4/5
Really enjoyed my stay but because there’s public seating right outside the hotel, there’s a lot of riff raff that hangs out and makes you a bit uncomfortable as you enter and exit the hotel. Other than that, I really enjoyed the stay

The energy saving procedure of keeping the room key in an outlet to turn on the electricity was confusing at first, but a good idea. The room was quiet and comfortable. The elevators were too full and slow.
