Very few amenities in the hotel. No bar, restaurant or breakfast. Not sure I would stay again, despite the great location.

1) Location was excellent/ accessible. Near restaurants and groceries. 2) Excellent staff 3) fridge and microwave on room 4) drinking water accessible on 1st floor Areas for improvement: 1) could not figure out how to program clock 2) need soap dispenser and wipes for kitchen sink 3) ice only accessible on lobby 4) moldy smell inside bathroom (forgot to mention to housekeeping) 5) electric outlets need to be more accessible (they were almost at floor level) 6) bigger main elevator

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The Bellboy FERNANDO was extremely rude and obnoxious. Not sure if he was having a bad day or something but the way he spoke to me and handled our interation was very rude and off putting. After travelling for hours and finally reaching your destination the last thing you need is a condescending rude encounter. A huge disappointment and frankly a discrace to the team and the hotel. I reported his behavior to the front desk manager Michael who said someone would be in touch with me to address it. I stayed there for 4 nights and it wasn't ever addressed. For that reason I would never stay at the hotel again and will tell everyone I know to avoid going there.

We’ve stayed here twice because you can’t beat the price and location. If driving in to the city it’s easy to navigate. The staff is very helpful and professional, especially the valet staff. The room is clean and beds are comfy. The deluxe room has a nice shower. Both times we stayed only one working elevator so I’d request a room close to the lobby so you can take the stairs if needed. Of note, there are some permanent residents on a few floors and we had a lingering smell of cats in the hallway one evening - but nothing in our room. Heard the random meows of a cat here and there overnight. Overall, it’s a nice hotel in NYC for the price with a helpful staff and clean rooms.
- 4/5
I had a good experience here. The staff was lovely, and I'd stay here again. Just note that I wouldn't call a microwave, sink, and a mini fridge a kitchenette. There were no mugs, plates, silverware, or a coffee maker. I did ask for an electric kettle, and that was provided. Just a heads up if you need to cook your own food for health reasons, like me, that would be very difficult.

it was great for the price u get what u pay for. great location walked 18 miles a day

The location and staff. The hotel has limited amenities and looks like it needs some TLC.

The staff was very accommodating, when we had an issue with the room next door having really loud noises coming from it they immediately moved us and were quick to action. I appreciate the care they took to assist us.

I enjoyed my stay at this venerable old hotel. Only a few blocks from Times Square, it provided a quiet respite after traversing the city. Rooms were clean and spacious enough to be comfortable. I was worried about the elevators, but all four functioned well, although when we left, one was taken out for maintenance, I think.
- 5/5
Clean, well temperature controlled. Staff was very helpful, even offered to hold onto half of our party’s bags since they arrived prior to the person to booked the room. I always pack ear plugs for hotel stays and personally did not hear anything except the occasional elevator ding from inside our room. Elevator wait is a bit long, but they’re actively working on the other one to make it faster. I will definitely be returning for future visits!
- 3/5
best location! the room is pretty big for NYC. The Hotel is old and needs a massive upgrade/ facelift. The elevator didn't work from time to time which caused a long wait or using the stairs which is ok if one is staying in the lower floors... the price didn't match the room appearance and I wasn't told during booking that the hotel is going or rather planning to upgrade the facility. Usually there is a coffee/tea machine provided in rooms as such - not in this case.
- 3.5/5
Good experience overall, clean, cheap and very good location The taxi driver called by the doorman was obviously a friend and arrived much later than planned which stressed us because of our flight (also faulty car "visit your dealer" and check engine light, made calls while driving, loud music on...)
- 4/5
Great location. Wonderful staff. Elevators from hell! Get them fixed!!!!

This is my second time staying at this hotel. It is lovely and very close to times square. Love the convenience of the hotel.
- 4/5
The location of The Belvedere is perfect for our needs. The bed was actually the most comfortable of the several rental locations of our recent two week vacations. I wish there were more wall outlets in the room, but this is an older, well-maintained hotel and a good value for the money.

I liked the hotel. Location and cleanliness were very good. The only complain is that they had turned off heating and the room was really cold at night. I talked to the front desk and she said they shut off heating at this time of the year. I only had an AC unit at the window that had no heating setting, they oparate the heating themselves. It was the end of May and temperature was in the 50s at night, so the room got very cold. The first night I called to ask for a blanket since there was only the sheet and a thin bed cover. They never brought the blanket. I asked for it the next morning to make sure I would have it the 2nd night. This time they brought it. Except for this situation, I think it is a good hotel. I'd stay there again, but I would clarify the heating situation and make sure there is a blanket around.

Great location - walking distance to Broadway, Hell's Kitchen, Cental Park, Rockefeller Center, and subway stations. Love the historic nature of the building, and room had a great view. That bring said, the room was what you might expect for an older hotel as there was wear and tear of blinds, cabinets, doors. No in room coffee pot. The biggest disappointment was the bed being uncomfortable, the pillows SO flat, and there were only sheets and a very thin blanket (no bedspread or comforter). Overall, it was an okay stay for the price and location.

- 5/5
The hotel is older, but they have kept it up very well and it felt newer. We were in room 1506. It had a small microwave, refrigerator, and wet bar area. The bathroom was small, but well equipped. The shower had hot water and great water pressure. There was plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash gel. There was a large closet with an ironing board, hair dryer, and iron along with plenty of hanging space and shelves. The room safe was a nice touch. Plus, there was a large dresser, a nice desk, and sitting area. Two windows with the view of the neighborhood. The bed was firm, but comfortable and so were the pillows. There were plenty of outlets for cords/chargers/CPAP machines. The gym looked well appointed, there was an Ice machine, drinking fountain to refill bottles that we used a lot, a vending machine, and printer next to the main elevators. They also had coffee/tea/hot chocolate with a couple breakfast bars in the morning. We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to stay and wanting to see the sights.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very welcoming. The room was very comfortable and big. We enjoyed our stay and we enjoyed the location as well.
- 5/5
Very convenient to Broadway and Times Square. Larger rooms than average NYC hotel room. I stayed there many times.
- 5/5
Very good hotel for the price! Worth it :)

The Belvedere Hotel is located in a perfect spot for those who want to visit Times Square and Broadway, while also being in a more quiet neighborhood, just 1-2 blocks away from the madding crowd. You are within very reasonable walking distance of good restaurants, bagel shops, drug stores, bars, and Broadway theaters. The hotel staff will tell you about discount parking that is only 0.3 miles away and very safe. The hotel has authentic Art Deco design and gives guests a sense of stepping back in time. It is a well maintained property and the staff is very responsive to minor issues in the rooms. You have to be patient with the elevators because they are somewhat small and you have to wait a few minutes during busy times. But if you are observant and creative you can find at least 4 elevators adjacent to the lobby. The stairways, which are clean and safe, offer a good alternative for those who are fit. The staff is very personable, professional, and friendly. The rooms are attractive, the beds are very cozy, and the bathrooms have a nice updated shower. The only issue we experienced during our stay in 1 of our rooms was that use of the hair blower tripped a circuit breaker and we lost partial power in some of the circuits of one room. But a call to the front desk resulted in resolution within 5 minutes or less, which was very impressive. We have stayed at the Belvedere several times and will definitely return the next time we are in NYC.
- 5/5
My partner and I stayed here for one night while in the city to see two Broadway shows. We arrived a little earlier than check in time and there was no problem getting into our room. We also had no issue storing our luggage on the second day after check out while we stayed to see the second show. It was so clean and the room was more spacious than many other city hotels we’ve stayed at. And the price was right on point. The location was perfect…easily walkable to theaters and restaurants while being removed enough from the bustle of Times Square to not be disturbed by any of those noises. We’ve stayed at so many places in NYC, and we’ve decided this one is our favorite so far and we will definitely be using it for our many future returns!
- 3.5/5
The location is great. It is not too noisy inside manhattan area. I walked around without using any taxis. There is no breakfast, even the coffee is limited until 10 am. I think coffee should be provided until afternoon.

This is my third time staying here. It is a great location. The gym is small, there isn’t a breakfast option, sometimes the front desk staff is helpful, sometimes not. The doorman and concierge always are. The rooms are small, not compact. There is a closet with shelves and drawers, more than some NYC hotels in the same price range. The red couch in the foyer is divine.
- 4/5
Good location for many NYC sites. Rooms are dated, carpets in poor condition. Front desk staff was helpful.

This is an older hotel, but it’s spotless and everything in the room worked. The staff here is wonderful in looking after our luggage and valet parking our car. You can’t beat the location in the middle of the theatre district. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Staff was kind, very willing to help and work with you
- 3/5
This is located pretty centrally, easy to get to Times Square and theaters. Lots of places to eat nearby. Close to bus stops. The property itself is a little worn. Bathroom was small, the shower pressure was nonexistent, and hard to control temperature of the water. There is a kitchenette with a good fridge, but no utensils or cups/plates. Its workable however not sire the cost was worth it but NYC is expensive so you are likely paying for location than amenities

The front desk person was not very welcoming and kind of understaffed. Shower shower spray and shower were working together we couldn’t switch from shower to spray. The tub water were going very slowly. They didn’t check and inspect the room. We checked in late and too tired to call for house maintenance. The door man and other staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a 2-1/2 star hotel. Definitely not going back
- 5/5
We have stayed at the Belvedere Hotel for years. The staff is very professional and welcoming. We appreciate the room renovations that have been going on. The location is very convenient to public transportation, Times Square, Broadway Theatres, and excellent restaurants , etc. And yet it is quiet on this section of W 48th St.
- 4.5/5
Friendly doormen and staff. Excellent location for Broadway shows. Good coffee, meager breakfast Elevators slow
- 3/5
The location!! One elevator was being serviced so we had to take the service elevators and they were slow and crowded. Our last day we waited over 10 minutes on the 11th floor and neither elevator ever stopped on our floor. We had to carry our bags down the stairs. We were never told about the drinking water refill area on bottom floor - found out by chance from another guest on the last day. It would have been helpful to know!

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Finally, the location was perfect for our needs. We found great restaurants and bars nearby, and it was a quick walk to various theaters. The elevators were a little slow, especially with one not working. It's an older hotel, so it's understandable that they needed to do some maintenance and updating.

It takes several hours to go down Elevators are slow not worth it for the price they take from you
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and efficient. They also decided to upgrade our reservation for free and let us know upon arrival. We got a very comfy and large room on the tenth floor. It was very clean and the beds were excellent. The room didn't have any facilities for making a cup of tea or coffee. After 2 days my wife just approched the staff at the front desk and asked for a kettle which they immediatley supplied, but with no glasses, tea spoons, coffee or tea bags. We managed by ourselves and it was ok, but really this was the only "bad" experience. Quite surprising really, as this is the first hotel ever that we have been to which didn't have the option to make coffee and tea in the room.
- 1/5
The description of amenities is wrong. They had advertised social hour on their website which we found out upon arrival they had discontinued 6 years ago. The morning coffee is of poor quality and limited and has no value. The elevators do not work. You have to wait a long time to go up and down. A lot of time wasted waiting. The building is old. The outdated wall AC unit makes a lot of noise and did not work properly. It is definitely very inaccurate description on your website.
- 3/5
The main problem with this hotel is the lack of blackout curtains in the rooms. Expect your room to be filled with sunlight in the morning. If you are the kind of person who likes a dark room in the morning, you should pick a different hotel.
- 5/5
Staff very helpful
- 4/5
Wi-Fi is exceptional, breakfast is not. There is no coffee machine in the room. The building is starting to show its age, but is conveniently located for business travelers. I will probably book again.
- 4/5
Lovely staff and very helpful. Located in a nice clean area and close to Times Square. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed (besides a broken iron but they gave us a new one!). Loved the vibes of the hotel as well and very decent price. Worth the stay and would come again!

The location is great. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The pillows and the bed in the room were uncomfy. I think more pillows being an option in the room would be a great add-on, or thicker feelings.
- 4.5/5
The Belvedere Hotel is in a perfect location for going to a Broadway show. Everything is so close, theatres, restaurants and excitement! The only drawback was the elevators! One was broken, but they let us use the freight elevators, so it worked out!
- 3.5/5
Location was great. Room was very basic. No coffee maker no ice machines.
- 5/5
Room was amply big and well stacked for all your needs.
- 3.5/5
We liked that it was off the beaten path a bit and yet close to the theater district. I lov e to walk in NY, and other areas are not far, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's, Columbus Circle and Central Park. No complaints here.
- 4/5
Elevators were a problem. Too few, too slow. Gym was much too basic, not of reasonable level/equipment for a proper workout.
- 4.5/5
Many international guests, many languages spoken in elevator- I’m American from Iowa, but I enjoy meeting and talking with people from other places
- 4/5
I love this hotel. The staff is friebdly, it's clean and the location is great. My only complaint is the elevators are exceptionally slow.
- 4/5
Only issue: parking. We drove from mid-Michigan but could not make the last 1/4 mile to the hotel because of road closures. Certainly not the fault of the hotel, but something they certainly should have been aware of. One would think that the valet or doorman would notice no traffic going past the hotel. I mention this only because I called the front desk as we were approaching NYC - no mention of the closure. We spent over an hour in Manhattan evening traffic trying to get to the hotel. When I called asking for help I informed them of the closure and they did direct us to off site parking, about 8 blocks away. They also upgraded our room. So, once we finally got there everything was great and we will stay there on our next trip to NYC.
- 5/5
Love love this hotel!!! Excellent location and had everything we needed! Highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
- 5/5
Its location was so convenient. Nice size room. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. Slept so well. Great shower pressure and toiletries. Enjoyed my stay very much.
- 5/5
For midtown Manhattan the rooms are really quite big! Very friendly staff that was helpful in accomodating my request for a room away from the elevator. Definitely will go back. I really have no complaints. For the price this is an amazing value. I will definitely stay again.

We’ve stayed at The Belvedere Hotel several times, and have always enjoyed our visits. Stepping into the Belvedere is like stepping back in time, but the hotel has kept the rooms and amenities updated and current. The hotel’s prime location is also a plus! Although it sits on a quiet street, it’s still very convenient to many famous NYC sites!
- 4.5/5
the location was good. they gave me a free upgrade to the deluxe penthouse suite.
- 4/5
Location, location, location. This property was walking distance to everything. The amenities included fridge and microwave. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star review was elevator service. It was extremely slow!
- 4/5
Big rooms and close to Times Square It was a bit noisy one night. But it is NYC
- 4.5/5
Location was what we were looking for and the rooms are big! The microwave and the fridge were very helpfull since we stayed 5 nights. Kitchen supplies would have been great but cleaning was done everyday so it was still ok. It’s a bit old but still in good conditions. The elevators you need to be aware since they are 3 but you need to wait quite some time.

Coffee and snacks for breakfast, only wish they went to 11am. Nothing, everything was great.
- 5/5
Convenient location close to everything. Clean and all amenities available. Has a small fridge and microwave and sink. The room is quite large for Manhattan
- 5/5
We were going to see "The View." I dont know what's more exciting - staying at the belvedere or seeing Oprah on the View. The Belvedere is my go to NY hotel. Good rates, good service, however.....if i get there at 2PM.....please let me in my room.
- 5/5
No fans in the bathroom....but we still love the Belv....that's what we call it - "the belv." OMG - that elevator moves at at Glacial pace....you know how i love that.
- 5/5
Only problem is that one of the main elevators is being fixed so it sometimes means waiting longer than usual for an elevator.
- 5/5
- 3/5
this would be a greathotel except when we were there the elevators were disfunctional. We were on the 11th floor. one elevator was just closed. The second elevator worked, but the call button didnt, so you had to get lucky that it would stop for you. There were two service levators thatworked, mostlybut took forever to get to the floor and half the time were completelypacked when it did. Several times, we just hoofed it down the stairs, but our day plans definitely tried to limit anything that involved the elevators. everything else was great and would have given it a much higher score if this wasnt the case, Staff seemed oblivious that there was a problem…no explanations, not apologies…
- 5/5
Great location. Amazing staff. Rooms were ok but the hotel was 100 years old so was good for its age. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room for NYC. Loved that there was a microwave and fridge in the room. The concierge was very helpful also. The street noise can’t be missed so be prepared…we were on the 17th top floor and it was still SO loud, but that’s common in NYC. Good location and would stay again.
- 5/5
Doormen were particularly friendly and helpful for navigating transportation.

Nothing at all. Dear Hotel Management, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at your property. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below even the most basic expectations of cleanliness, service, and overall accommodation quality. Upon arrival, it was immediately evident that the room had not been properly maintained. The carpet was visibly dirty, and the sink in the room was cracked—conditions that are unacceptable for any hotel, regardless of rating. Additionally, only one elevator was operational during our stay, creating unnecessary inconvenience. Equally concerning was the complete lack of hospitality support. At no point was assistance offered with our luggage, which is a standard courtesy expected in a professionally managed establishment. Due to these multiple issues, the accommodations were so substandard that we made the decision to leave the following morning and relocate to another hotel. The only reason we did not depart the same evening was due to the exhaustion from our flight. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend your hotel to family, friends, or colleagues. Regrettably, I would rate this stay as a negative zero. I trust that you will take this feedback seriously and address these concerns to prevent future guests from having a similar experience. Sincerely, Dr. Charles Anderson

Everything None
- 3.5/5
Location, near Times Square, Madame Tussauds, 5th ave.... Elevators too slow.
- 2/5
Staff at the reception were extremely rude and unprofessional, no heat options in their outdated AC unit. Too much money for such an old hotel.
- 4/5
Nice historic good location
- 5/5
Staff was outstanding!! Wonderful customer service!
- 5/5
Great location, the rooms were a great size, and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!!
- 2/5
location was fantastic elevators were down, hotel was filled so wait times exceeded 30 minutes for an elevator.
- 5/5
Suits my needs perfectly. Love the location, the staff is friendly and super knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. Love The Belvedere.
- 3/5
Gym equipment was decrepid. Probably illegal noise threshold on the treadmill - it was so old and janky. Nice and clean through hotel and bedrooms I really liked the communal tea/ coffee and granola bar station offered every morning. Great location for broadway shows. Only reason to stay there really. Theatres are 5-9 minutes walk from your bedroom.
- 5/5
Nice location. Clean and modern rooms, but with the authentic historical feel. Great value for money.
- 5/5
Tip: Use the elevators at the end of the hallway during the busy times. And leave your housekeeper a well deserved tip.
- 4/5
Clean room. When we were there they only had one elevator working, but besides that everything was great. Great location.
- 4.5/5
Expensive to valet vehicles
- 4/5
Estaba limpio, es aceptable en general
- 3/5
I double booked by mistake and the mgmt saw it in the system and refused to help me
- 3.5/5
Unclean room, thin blankets, worn appearance
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Amazing service!
- 2/5
Paid for a Room with two King beds. Got room with two full beds (which was a different and lower price on the platform where I booked). The hotel informed me that they did not have King beds at all - but would not help with a discount for what I paid too much (for a room that did not even exist). Further the elevator capacity was horrific and we waited, and waited for elevators where we were all had to squeeze in.
- 5/5
Lovely updated historic hotel in great theatre location. It was a busy week and the elevators were very slow with one out of order.
- 3/5
The location was good and staff were nice The main elevator was being worked on and was very slow. We were offered to use service elevator and got trapped in one when we’re weren’t instructed to use a key card to make it operate unlike the main elevators until someone called for its use to it opened. My kids were traumatized and we took the stairs the rest of the time up and down from the 6th floor. Thank god we weren’t further up!
- 5/5
Staff was extremely friendly from beginning to end of stay.
- 3/5
So here’s the thing. I was very clean but it felt dirty bc it was just SO dated. To the point I looked for bedbugs (there were none) and the bathroom sink and shower were eh but good water pressure and temperature. The wall unit was making the loud noise off and on which kept waking me up…didn’t try to get it fixed or move rooms though. It wouldn’t pay more than $225/night to stay there. Loved the location for just going to the theatre
- 5/5
The location is ideal, 5 minutes from Times Square, 1 minute to all the food you can want on 9th Avenue, and a few blocks to several subway lines. We were upgraded to a king deluxe and it was spacious!!! Clean rooms and public spaces. Decent gym on the premises. 1 of the 2 main elevators has been undergoing repairs since January. Wait times could be long during busy times. Request a lower floor and use the stairs. Other than that, I totally recommend The Belvedere!!!!
- 4.5/5
The people working were absolutely amazing. We were able to check in early, and they even upgraded our room! The elevator was a bit wonky but it worked!
- 2.5/5
Rooms and furnishings were outdated
- 3/5
Bathroom to small and noisy outside
- 4/5
Great location convenient to the Theater District
- 4/5
I had a wonderful experience at The Belvedere. Everything about the hotel was fantastic—the staff provided excellent service, the rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the entire place was spotless. The only downside was the long wait times for the elevators, which could be a bit frustrating. However, the high quality of the accommodations and the attentive service more than made up for it. I would definitely stay here again!
- 3.5/5
Elevators - 10 minutes wait just to get to the room. No breakfast options in the hotel, and the Brazilian restaurant featured in photos required a long walk around the block
- 4.5/5
Excellent value. We stayed at the Belvedere for 9 nights and were very pleased with how clean and large the rooms were. Also you can't beat the location, near the theatres and surrounded by good restaurants. We had 2 meals at Eccolo which were great and reasonably priced. We will come back to the Belvedere in the future. The elevator is slower than molasses and the "coffee" is not great.
- 3/5
The staff was pleasant. The room and halfway had a musty smell like the carpet needed to be cleaned. The room was really bland with no decor features for the price you pay. Also, You cannot control the room temperature due to not having a thermostat. Not worth the price you pay.
- 2/5
The bathroom is in need of a new tub rusty and old.The mattress was terrible old and lumpy
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here a few times. It’s always very clean and so easily accessible to the subway, Times Square and other tourist locations. The proximity to Hell’s Kitchen and the broadway theaters offers so many choices. Highly recommend !
- 5/5
a Bautiful hotel 2 blocks from time square, the room was a good size not that crazy small NYC style bed only room. Center to NYC on 48th street Priced right!!
- 5/5
Loved everything. Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Otherwise, our stay was comfortable.
- 3/5
The best thing about this hotel is the convenient location and good price. It’s clean and the room was a decent size for manhattan. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There I was a kitchenette with a fridge in the room which was great. The elevators are under construction and we spent a lot of time waiting to go up or down. The interior is tired and needs an update, especially the carpet and hallways. The room bathroom was updated and pretty nice, and the shower was hot and the toiletries were great. The beds were comfortable and clean. Everything just looked a little tired.
- 4/5
Location, location, location. Great neighborhood for coffee, quick meals. Close to train station, subway, museums, theater. It's a little run down. Nothing dirty, but not quite shiny.
- 4/5
Our 8th floor standard double queen room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the lower Manhattan skyline. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. Def can't beat the price in this location! Only minor dislikes. Older building...more electrical outlets would have been nice and the decor is a little dated. Smallish bathroom might be an issue for larger guests...toilet very close to wall and under towel rack.
- 3/5
Hotel is overall ok with great location. Rooms need a little tlc but otherwise good. Only negative is the soundproofing of doors. If you are unlucky enough to get a room with a connecting door, you can hear everything happening in the other room. Not helpful if you need to sleep.
- 5/5
The room was so much bigger than I was expecting - turns out the building used to be apartments. I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in NYC!
- 5/5
The desk staff and concierge went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They were a great help.
- 0.5/5
Nothing Everything
- 2.5/5
Very out dated. Elevator was broken and the working elevator was slow
- 4/5
The Belvedere boasts a prime location, conveniently situated near the 50th subway station. Within a mere 15-minute walk, you’ll find yourself in Times Square, Broadway theaters, and Rockefeller Plaza. This prime location offers easy access to various destinations, and the Hell’s Kitchen area is brimming with dining options. Despite its age and outdated facilities, the hotel maintains a clean and well-kept appearance throughout. While the vintage vibe may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I personally find it endearing.
- 4/5
The stay was pretty good, and the staff were nice. They would always greet us when entering and wish us a good day when exiting. The one thing I did not like was that there was no lighting in the middle of the room. Otherwise everything else was good.
- 5/5
Excellent service. Very attentive to guests.
- 4.5/5
The room was quite nice and quiet. It was not the newest but everything worked our nicely. Location was amazing and staff was super helpful. They accommodate an early check-in! One of the elevators was not working, which created minor delays, but nothing too bad that was not handled.
- 3/5
The location is great A very old building in serious need of maintenance. Elevators are not working properly, people have to wait sometimes 30 minutes to access or exit their rooms. Air-conditioning/heating very noisy.
- 4/5
Overall great- More pillows and a heavier blanket would have been great
- 5/5
nice clean room
- 5/5
Great staff, very friendly, the room was excellent, elevators were being modernized, therefore the wait time for an elevator was a lil longer than normal I assume. Still a great place to stay.
- 4/5
The price was great considering the location that it is in. Walking distance to most of the attractions that you would want to see in NYC. The staff was nice and friendly. One of the elevators was out of service so that was a little frustrating as it took a very long time waiting for an elevator.
- 4/5
Very nice rooms, elevators need servicing. Excellent door man, very helpful and kind
- 4/5
The beds weren’t really that comfortable, they had a sort of rough texture that was uncomfortable when laying down especially the covers, and the entire room isn’t as nice and clean as displayed in the pictures which understandably isn’t really a big issue for me but it feels like false advertisement for the image they are trying to convey. I genuinely think I would have had a better nights sleep at a cheap motel in the middle of nowhere. Given the fact that it’s New York I can understand why the prices are what they are, and the fact I only stayed for one night. I wasn’t planning on staying in New York for long so the inconveniences I had with my stay weren’t really as big an issue, but I will say that most of the employees are top notch besides the ones with the “i hate my job” look on their faces.
- 5/5
One of the elevators was out of order which made for a very big inconvenience.
- 5/5
The staff and hotel are fantastic. Perfect location and a hundred year old hotel restored to greatness. Quiet street but everything you need super accessible. Old fashioned professional service at its finest. Thank you Jerry and all the professionals for everything.
- 3/5
No hotel parking
- 2/5
Toilet water ran constantly; room temp went from hot to cold and back no matter how we set thermostat. The top sheet on the bed was so thin you couldn't even use for a dust rag! The person checking us in was rude. We asked why we weren't given a lower floor as requested and her replied "you have 2 beds in your room" When we walked in the room my 1st statement was that the brochure and online picture must be 20 yrs old!! The restaurant was overpriced, very noisy, and not as described. Very disappointed with the whole experience. Oh, and a 17-floor hotel with 1 small ice machine in the lobby!!!
- 4/5
Loved the hotel, great location away from times square but walkable to times square, walked to theaters and central park, tons of restaurants close by. The elevator had issues but they were remodeling them I believe. Some of the staff were not so friendly but that is okay. Coffee machine available in the mornings and granola bars.
- 5/5
It was a nice clean property
- 5/5
This was a great location to stay after our Broadway show. The room was really spacious with a comfortable bed. Its close to a ton of restaurants and shops.
- 5/5
The Belvedere is my favorite place to stay when I come to NYC.
- 5/5
There’s no coffee in the room.
- 5/5
Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, hotel is centrally located.
- 5/5
Clean room the lady that checked me in went above and beyond
- 3/5
This is a lovely hotel. It’s not the newest thing on the block, but it’s functional, I’m
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, several rooms and guest, but still quiet. Amazing location!
- 4/5
Great location in Manhattan for Times Square and the theater District as well as excellent transportation connections to multiple subway lines. Often a good deal depending on the time of year.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay
- 3/5
Elevator issues
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
Only thing I didn’t like was that the coffee area wasn’t available throughout the day, just in the morning maybe by 10am. Overall I think this is a good option even though it’s a bit outdated.
- 5/5
Well kept property and friendly staff.
- 3/5
Upon arrival the staff at the door and front desk were not welcoming at all. Not even once they said welcome or can I help you. We had an issue with my reservation due to my last name and my license not matching. Front desk staff was trying to help but manager Kenner He was rude and condescending. So another staff ended up helping us to resolve the issue. We also had an issue with the valet parking because we paid for valet service at 6 pm upon arrival and our vehicle was still outside when we returned around 11 pm. Not sure when they finally took the vehicle away but we took pictures of the car in the street. When we checked out we addressed that issue with a female manager and she told us that she was going to call the parking garage to prorate the valet. She instructed us to call her when we were ready to pick up our car. When we call front desk told us that the female manager was not available and they transferred us to Keener He and he told us the prorated amount was $80 when in fact that wasn’t true. When we questioned him about the $80 he said:” $80 is what you pay no matter what.” Having dealt with him the day before we decided that we would not go back through another experience with him. Other than that the hotel is great but we won’t be staying here again due to the lack of professionalism/ customer service.
- 5/5
Very cool place; loved the proximity to Times Square and the staff was super friendly.
- 4/5
Didnt drive took public transportation. Room was decent. Staff and doorman were great. The elevator was the biggest negative with one of the front ones being down, however the side elevators worked well.
- 1/5
Toilet was broke in room for 2 days. Sinkbwas broken also 1 day. Shower had no hot water 2 days. Room smelled like cat pee. Elevators takeb5-15min ea time you need 1. On checkout day it took 30 min. There didnt seem to be much concern about the condition of tje property from staff.
- 5/5
Loved our stay, staff was incredibly friendly
- 5/5
Room was clean and well maintained. Staff helpful. Great Location for everything!!!! Would stay again.
- 3/5
Location great online description needs to be updated; not the same
- 3/5
Clean but really thin walls and windows
- 5/5
Great location in NYC. Close to Time Square and lots of restaurants!
- 4/5
Had a nice stay at the Belvedere this weekend. The room, facilities, and staff were all fine and much appreciated. The best aspect of the hotel is a great location to both the theater district and to Hell's Kitchen. Would recommend.
- 3/5
Basic hotel room. Clean, but very basic for the price.
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff was awesome. Valet parking was nice and easy. Only wish there were coffee pots in room or coffee served in lobby for longer hours.
- 5/5
The room had so much space and the water pressure on the shower was so perfect. A comfy bed and strong ac unit on the window that kept us cool throughout the night. Everything so close by and time square it just about a 10-15 minute walk. Amazing.
- 3/5
I’ve been going to this hotel for years. First time I feel so disappointed. The lift situation is ridiculous now. While never great , you now need 45 minutes in the morning to get down to fetch your coffee and get back to your room. Service lifts are just as slow and you are on the lift with laundry bins and staff most of the time. The bed was not touched the entire time and I had a superior room. Just the basic bathroom necessities were done. The bed linens were so thin that I asked for a blanket. The blanket was just as threadbare. The staff this time was somewhat defensive. Not a happy 4 day stay this time at the Belvedere, which is a change for me.
- 5/5
Great hotel, location, and service
- 2/5
I recently visited New York with my husband and daughter for her birthday. The hotel was clean but the hostess when I arrived was Not very pleasant. There was some prejudices experienced and left a bad taste in my mouth. A $225 holding fee was placed. The cahrge is supposed to be returned to my card minus $68.48 for a facility fee. We stayed 3 nights housekeeping never cleaned our room even when asked. She said she needed to ask her manager. For what? We couldn't even get extra towels. The doorsmen had good hospitality. I will say the location is superb right next to Times Square and plenty of restaurants.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Clean. Awesome staff. Good price.
- 5/5
I was in NYC for work, so I didn’t do much shopping, but the Belvedere is the perfect location in my opinion.
- 5/5
Comfy bed, excellent location, and elevator waits were very reasonable. Stayed here 8 or 9 times, love it! The male front desk staff could be a bit more friendly, but it’s a great hotel overall.
- 3/5
The room itself was just okay. It felt pretty outdated and could definitely use some modernization. The beds were somewhat comfortable, but nothing particularly special. Unfortunately, the biggest issue, and the reason I can’t rate this place any higher, is that all three of us woke up covered in bedbug bites. And I mean covered. Each of us had roughly 15–20 bites. That experience really put a damper on the stay. If the hotel addressed that issue and updated the rooms, it could easily be a much better experience because the location truly is hard to beat.
- 5/5
We loved staying in the hotel
- 4/5
The Belvedere was a good value for the price. Great location in short walking distance to Times Square and Broadway shows, but just far enough that the street isn’t busy with tourists and noise.
- 3/5
An elevator were down making it hard to get to and from room. Lobby did not feel super safe. Ppl in and out frequently.
- 3/5
There was a hair on the bed when I first pulled back the bed sheets. No temperature control, it was overly warm in the room. When I used the shower, it went back-and-forth between cold and very warm without me, touching me faucet. All in all, not a good experience. The front desk staff was very friendly..
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Clean grear location
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
All of it
- 5/5
No
- 3/5
The construction on elevators made it a 5-10 minute wait to go downstairs to access any amenities. Location is only 5-8 minutes from most transport so very convenient.
- 2/5
Room need update.
- 5/5
Great location, staff was delightful, room & facilities were clean. There is an ice machine and water refilling station on ground floor.
- 5/5
Let me start by saying the staff was phenomenal! Absolutely the best of the best! The hotel is older, but very well maintained! It is conveniently located to the theater district and downtown! So much is within walking distance! Really the only downside is that there’s no coffee maker in the room.
- 4/5
Fine location and clean room; the toilet didn’t flush great and there was no tea or coffee in the room; but overall I’d stay again. Staff were attentive and responsive
- 5/5
Great place and great location! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Check in staff very friendly, they offer complimentary small sodas and bags of chips until they're gone. However, I didn't think I would stay here again. Despite rooms being available, they were were going to charge a $75 early check in fee, so my young daughter and I had to go find somewhere to hang out for 45 more minutes to avoid it. The hotel is heading away from Times Square/Broadway towards Hell's Kitchen and didn't feel incredibly safe to walk to. The lights in the elevator were flickering and reminded us of the Tower of Terror. The room itself was worn and aged, with chipped future and a lumpy bed with only 2 pillows, but clean. The bathroom was incredibly small and aged, but also clean. The desk staff gave us a room on the top floor with what I'd consider the best view possible of the courtyard for the theater we were going to see a show at, so that was nice. Overall, property is just ok- worked for the night, but not the best.
- 5/5
All great. Excellent location and great room. Thx
- 2/5
Additionally, your website states the the pricing includes all taxes and fees yet we were charged almost $23 in taxes and fees upon checkout. The garage was also located 3 blocks away making it more difficult to walk the city streets with our luggage upon arrival and departure. Overall We were very disappointed with almost every aspect of this stay and unless some form of reimbursement is tendered, we do not intend to ever stay there again nor use your website for our lodging needs.
- 4/5
Location and most staff
- 5/5
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating as soon as we arrived! They answered all our questions, rooms were very clean and tidy every night.
- 5/5
Everything about my stay was easy
- 5/5
I love the Belvedere. Quiet, great location, and clean rooms. Sure it’s not like the newer hotels with bells and whistles- but who needs that when you’re in the heart of it all.
- 5/5
The staff is outstanding! We needed to extend our stay due to weather delays and they were more than accommodating. We LOVE The Belvedere!
- 5/5
Great stay, great room, great staff!!!
- 5/5
This hotel is in an excellent location and the staff are exceptionally helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. I’ve stayed here before and I will definitely return for a third visit.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean & easy check in! Would recommend to a friend!
- 5/5
The room was clean close to everything I needed. Extremely helpful for getting to the pier for my cruise.
- 4/5
No big complaints! Would recommend! Clean room, working heater. Some light bulbs were out, electrical plugs loose, the problems I accept in the price range. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great for times square and Broadway! Close to central park too!
- 5/5
The room was very clean, staff was all extremely friendly. The elevators were tinyyyy but it seemed like they were doing something about that because one of them was closed for renovations. We had a great stay here!
- 4/5
We love the location, the size of the rooms, the fridge and microwave in the room. They still haven’t fixed the one main guest elevator since our last stay. Waiting for an elevator that isn’t already full is a nuisance - especially if you’re trying to get somewhere on time!
- 5/5
Always a good experience, one time only issue is needed the A/c on some of the coldest days , ya it was interesting.
- 5/5
Easy check in and check out process! Being that it's in midtown NYC there was some street noise, so if you're sensitive to that, pack a white noise machine!
- 5/5
Only issue is you can’t control the heat- and I was very hot.
- 5/5
Everything was nice
- 3/5
Need to improve amenit
- 5/5
Clean room, spacious for New York, I liked the included mini fridge and the air conditioning.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Everything
- 4/5
Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was helpful and friendly. One of the elevators was being renovated at the time, and the heating system was noisy but otherwise the room was fine.
- 4/5
The room was clean and spacious, especially for New York City. We will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Room was ok. Paper thin walls. Could hear absolutely everyone, inside and outside, and we were on the 9th floor. Dont expect to sleep if youre a light sleeper. Will be staying somewhere else when we visit again. We've stayed in times square and didnt have the noise issue.
- 4/5
Location is great, room is comfortable
- 4/5
Great location. Comfortable but smallish room. No restaurant or legit breakfast. Great price for January theatre visit. Courteous and helpful staff. Hotel is tired and could use a do over but Terriffic Value which is what we wanted.
- 4/5
The hotel is built in 1926. It is aged but has an old-world charm. It is spacious and clean. The microwave and the little fridge is a bonus. My room has a fantastic view. The staff are ok. Except Janet, who’s is very helpful!
- 4/5
Room was smallish. The discounted parking was a great deal but a bit far from the hotel in the snow.
- 4/5
Big, nice room with a great view!
- 1/5
The heat didn’t work…we found hair in the bed sheets…it was a terrible experience…I would never stay here ever again…and I want my money back
- 5/5
No complaints. It was a spacious and comfortable room, perfectly located with a nice city view from the large windows. The staff were very friendly. We will return.
- 4/5
Staff helpful and friendly. Great location.
- 4/5
The room was good, the staff were very nice.
- 5/5
Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a nice view and the staff was really nice and helpful. Thank you!
- 5/5
Great location to broadway shows and shopping. Our room was next to service elevator which was noisy which is why lowered the comfort rating. Plus, The pillows and blankets need an upgraded.
- 5/5
Great staff, amenities, and clean room
- 4/5
Small room but considering the location this is pretty good.
- 2/5
They charged a very significant fee that was not in the original cost.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 11:00am before check-in and we were offered to have our room then for an additional $75.00. There wasn't a need as we would only be storing our bags and returning in the evening. Our room was nice, room 307. The refrigerator either wasn't working or was on a low setting(no way to make it colder). I put water bottles in it at night and in the morning, they had barely changed temperature. Had 2 double beds, only 2 pillows for each bed but we were able to find an extra in the closet. The bath towels are small, plastic cups and an old phone. Couldn't figure out to call the front desk so I just dialed the hotel on my phone. I asked about assistance getting a taxi in the morning for an early train. They advised me that the bell desk staff is gone from 11:00pm-7:00pm. I get it, it's off the main roads and they probably don't need a bellman on 24 hours. I called for an Uber instead. I would think about staying there again if I was coming into town for a Broadway show again. Liked how close it was to restaurants, Times Square and the theatres.
- 2/5
The ac didn’t work. No outlets by the bed - so only place to charge your phone is across the room. Lamps don’t have usb chargers on them either. Only two pillows for a king bed with two guest. Extra pillows asked for were hard as a rock.
- 5/5
Great hotel with friendly, helpful staff.
- 3/5
The room was ok, but it really smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking hotel. An elevator was broken so it took a long long time to get to the room. It wasn't worth the price.
- 4/5
Staff were wonderful!! Hotel and room was clean!
- 5/5
Nice size room. Great staff!
- 4/5
Not only has one elevator been broken for the last year, but the main elevator kept showing Floor 6 lit up all day long. Never knew where you were arriving. Always on 6. There are small service elevators at the ends of the hallway, but not reliable either.
- 4/5
Room was great. Clean and roomy for NYC at reasonable rate. The elevator was very slow and one was out of order. Morning coffee bar was not great but free.
- 2/5
Hotel needs renovation Bathroom is not safe supplies are stuck coming out It was rated higher stars than what they deservef
- 5/5
Thanks
- 5/5
Friendly service, calm.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff, very clean hotel. I couldn’t ask for more!
- 5/5
Very clean room. We were delighted that they allowed us early access to the room - really helped out with our stay.
- 4/5
Great location and room was good size for NYC rooms. No controls in room for temperature which led to some temperature issues. But friendly staff. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was pleasant and helpful hailing a taxi, very informative
- 4/5
Room was okay. Staff was excellent. Only one elevator working so long waiting.
- 5/5
Met our needs and very convenient
- 5/5
Polite staff
- 4/5
Location, cleanliness, value
- 5/5
The Bell man was amazingly friendly and helpful! Hotel was clean and staff so friendly!
- 3/5
The room was clean. We had to call for towels every day. They did not clean the room. We had to ask for it to be cleaned. I went down and asked for a box of tissues, and they said I was going to have to go to the store. When talking to housekeeping they told me they are on site 24 hrs. and they could have just brought me a box. The front desk was not very friendly. They didn't have anyone to give you any information or help you with directions. They could get you a taxi and that was it. They didn't have any breakfast just coffee and tea till 10:00 am. The restaurant was a steakhouse. Nothing lite on the menu. But I will give it 4 stars for location. Which is why I picked this hotel.
- 4/5
We never went to the bar and we didn’t have a mini bar in the room. Nice size refrigerator and microwave tho, and nice work desk.
- 4/5
We booked using Expedia. The overall experience was very good except for additional charges imposed by the hotel at our arrival for the use of facilities like gym and complementary coffee in the morning.
- 4/5
The doorman, on desk personnel, White staff in restaurant and bartender for excellent
- 5/5
The room was in good condition, the staff was friendly and helpful, plus the location is perfect! The building itself is beautiful architecture and feels “New York”.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and location is great!
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 4/5
Staff was great. One issue was that the soap and shampoo were empty in the shower
- 4/5
With a broken elevator and a room on the 17th floor I spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME waiting for an elevator with space!! Missed not having a bar and a restaurant with room service
- 1/5
Room and hotel in general was not nice - TV in room didn't work either. Most of the staff was pleasant but there was one lady at the front desk that went out of her way to be rude.
- 3/5
Too expensive compared to rhe service we receive. Location is convenient n staffs r helpful. But its an old structure. They dont provide basic amenities like coffeemaker n stuff in the room. Area is very dirty.
- 3/5
Room condition ok apart from constant banging loud through the night which kept us all awake every night. Spoke worh rwceotion about it who didnt seem to interested
- 4/5
Everything was great, friendly staff, clean rooms, good room service. But the elevators were an issue with constantly not working.
- 1/5
I tired to add on late check out (paid) but was told I have to call the front desk before 7am OTD to see if it’s available. The room was recently renovated and very clean. However, our two bed “Superior” was stocked with only two towels, one robe, and only sheets no blankets for two adults and kids. Are we supposed to share? The windows are old, very drafty, and let all the noise in. The location was great. I appreciated the old NYC charm of the building. I asked housekeeping for extra towels and blankets. They were the only plus of the hotel! Perks to them! They restocked the extra towels when refreshing our room, and worked around us and our day.
- 4/5
Clean room; great location
- 2/5
Hotel needs major updates and improvements throughout, good location though.
- 5/5
Clean room excellent staff excellent will recomend to put some glases and coffee
- 4/5
Staff was fantastic and the location is absolute fire. We did get stuck in the main elevator for a few minutes on our first day, so we stuck to the service elevators after that — though those could have a bit of a wait. The room itself was spacious, but the fridge didn’t get quite cold enough and the TV was definitely the smallest I’ve seen in a hotel in at least a decade. Still, overall, we’d absolutely stay here again. It’s steps away from great restaurants and all the theatres — close enough to Times Square for convenience, but far enough that you’re not overwhelmed by the chaos.
- 5/5
All in all excellent value, very friendly staff
- 1/5
- Staff are quite rude, unhelpful, and money-hungry. - Gym was very hard to find and can barely be called a gym. Includes a few 5 lb weights—great for toddlers! - Elevators are small, slow, and take minimum of 10 minutes. They also don’t fit your luggage. Taking the stairs is faster, even with suitcases. If you have a family, plan on splitting up because there’s never enough room for more than one person. - Beds and pillows are awful, rock-hard. Not to be picky, but the decor is motel-level. - The non-ADA rooms do not have in-room heating or AC. Layering blankets and bulky space heaters are the solution to snowy nights. This was not advertised. - Doors are thin, walls are thinner. We could hear the elevator all night. - We received a different room than what we booked, and then somehow got moved into an even worse room. - Ran out of tissues and soap. - For some reason, the peephole in our door was loose enough that any passerby could peer through our door and into our room. - Upon checkout you are charged with a “resort fee.” Not sure what this covers… maybe the complimentary luxury hot water and hot coco packets? Or maybe the stair usage fee? Pros: - The elevator takes so long, you can make lots of friends while waiting. - You’re never alone! The thin walls make it easy to overhear interesting conversations. I hope Becky finds her wallet after that long night out! - Free food in the fridge from the previous tenants.
- 5/5
This was a great hotel to stay in for your NYC trip. The staff was great and the location in proximity to Times Square is awesome yet just enough out of the way to be a little bit quiet. This was our first NYC trip and we were glad to be close to everything touristy yet close to the subway so we could explore the city. It’s not a major brand, but don’t let that scare you. It was very well ran.
- 3/5
Location was great! Close to everything.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 1/5
Checked out this morning—this was my second time staying here. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment compared to my stay seven years ago. The air conditioner was frozen over, leaving the room unbearably hot. One of the main elevators was out of service, and getting up or down took at least 15 minutes each time. On top of that, the hotel had an unpleasant smell. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations and was a letdown compared to my previous experience.
- 5/5
Clean room and great location
- 4/5
Comfortable, nice staff, clean, great location and loved the eagle sentinels outside our room.
- 5/5
Room was cleaned thoroughly every day and extra towels were provided upon request. Service people were always present and willing to help in any way. The doormen were exceptionally nice and helpful. Can’t wait to come back again.
- 4/5
Good location. Rooms were comfortable
- 5/5
This hotel is in a great location. The rooms are good sizes for NY hotel rooms. The only complaint was an elevator was out so the waits were long. Would definitely return and recommend.
- 4/5
Beds were not very comfortable. The area is very noisy from 5am
- 5/5
Rooms were a great size and clean. Came with a fridge and microwave Great room view Elevators were a little slow. But we did not mind. Christmas season and it’s busy Hotel was in a great location and convenient This will be a hotel that I will keep in my list ti stay for the next visits
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. Rooms nice size
- 5/5
Great location! Friendly staff, nice size rooms
- 5/5
Room was a bit dated but comfortable. Very convenient location easy walk to the subway and attractions. Elevators are another story very slow and dated. There is no breakfast included just tea and coffee with some bars in the morning. Overall for Manhattan good value for the money!!. Shout out to the staff who work very efficiently. My only suggestion is to renovate the rooms and elevators.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a fantastic location and the rooms are a very good size for a mid-town hotel. It was good value for the money - however the hotel is in major need of a few updates. The beds are old and the bedding itself was lacking. The comforter was so thin it felt like you were sleeping under a towel. The in room TV was also dated (not that anyone is going to New York to watch TV). It has so much potential to be an old charming boutique hotel with a few updates. We didn’t even realize the hotel had a bar/restaurant until our last night there as it is not visible from the lobby!
- 4/5
Staff is great. Loved the restaurant on site. Would have preferred coffee machine in the room as 7:00 am coffee in lobby was not early enough for me during my stay. I had to leave hotel to go to Starbucks.
- 2/5
Room is bad
- 5/5
The rooms were spacious, very clean and great view of the city. Great lo
- 5/5
The room has a nice space / the hotel is in a perfect location
- 3/5
Great location. Many pros and cons
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
We arrived at 12:30 to check our bags, told to come back at 4 because room wasnt ready. Ok. No problem. Bathroom was dirty and dusty. No soap, no shower curtain. Floors throughout had bot been cleaned. Tv didnt work. Decorative bedding was disgusting. Hairs of previous people everywhere. When getting fresh towels it took an hour.
- 5/5
Clean room, easy in and out
- 5/5
Perfect location for midtown. Has all your basic necessities.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and the bathroom was clean and modern. Our room was adjacent to the service elevator so it was a bit noisy up until midnight but I’m sure you would find that with most hotels. One of the front desk staff was a bit too serious. The hotel location was perfect and we would stay here again!
- 5/5
Spacious room, very clean, great overall.
- 4/5
Clean rooms and nice overall decor. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Rooms are small and cozy…….car valet parking is good service…….all major attractions like Times Square, rock feller, edge, radio city….with kids, rooms are not that comfortable…
- 4/5
Staff is EXCELLENT! All of them! Rooms are clean and location for broadway and Times Square is great! Only negative and it is super annoying is the elevator situation. Would love to stay here again, but won’t until they fix this issue.
- 5/5
Okay
- 5/5
Staff was great! Vincent and Lisa, at the front desk both went above and beyond during our stay
- 3/5
Elevators were horrible. Room was clean but bathroom door didn’t lock. Location is good.
- 4/5
Great location and easy check in/check out. Comlementary coffee, tea and hot chocolate in lobby in am. Elevator were quirky and sometimes one or two not working, but that wasn't a big issue for us
- 1/5
front desk service
- 4/5
Not enough pillows or towels
- 3/5
The only disappointment was the toilet didnt flush and the elevators barely worked which caused long wait times. There the staff was friendly and felt safe, we would stay again.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
Front desk people were very rude but the door guys and cleaning people extremely nice
- 1/5
When we got to the room it was freezing. We couldn’t feel any heat at all. We went the first weekend of December so it was very cold outside. We called the front desk and 2 different guys came. The second one rudely told us the heat was working. Even tho we couldn’t feel any. They brought us a space heater. We called for extra blankets 3 times before they brought them to us. The next day our phone wouldn’t work. Other than that the hotel is in a convenient location.
- 3/5
The room was in good condition but very outdated for the absurd price.
- 5/5
great again
- 3/5
- 3/5
Check in was chaotic. The room was very average. Bedding was awful. Service was subpar. I would not come back.
- 5/5
A very spacious room by NY standards. Clean, good amenities and friendly staff. Great location!
- 2/5
Reported the issue to the Front Desk each morning, requesting a spraying or something to correct. Each day was told housekeeping would address and each night upon return there were at least 2 found. No option to move rooms, no contact from upper management, nothing. Elevators were also an issue and with a disabled guest there were times that the elevators were full for 20+ minutes when trying to get a ride down. Location was wonderful to theaters which was the main reason for the pick of the hotel. Honestly just disappointed in the lack of attention when guests report issues.
- 4/5
Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The furniture in our room was showing some wear, which we felt most in the mattress and pillows. However, we slept very well. We had excellent service from the staff and we couldn't have asked for a better location.
- 5/5
The room wasn’t spotless, but it was honestly cleaner than expected for a holiday season weekend trip just off Times Square. The staff was helpful and friendly through our visit and the room had all needed amenities
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Rooms very nice - clean and modern. Great and quick hot water pressure even on 14th floor. One of the two main elevators not working, but there is two others, but none very quick. Housekeeping was great and quick on our requests, as was maintenance for the non-functioning remote. Friendly front desk staff. Small fyi that they do not have umbrellas to loan on rainy days (not sure if hotels do that or just shown in Hollywood movies)
- 5/5
I love it
- 5/5
We were able to check in early around 1pm, room was clean and staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Our room had no thermostat to control the temp and because it is so old, the cold air seeped through the windows. The bathroom was very small and pretty nasty. The bath tub was stained with mold. The service was great and whenever we asked for something, they were more than accommodating. The workers were super friendly!
- 4/5
The hotel was fine. A little dated, but clean and staff were friendly. We had everything we needed and location was the perk. The hotel stored our luggage prior to check in and after check out which was very helpful.
- 5/5
The room was in prestine order. I cant say very clean because that would be an understatement. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were knowledgeable when i did have a question, as well as to make some recommendations. The location of the hotel was perfect. It is very close to everything. I would definitely recommend the Belvedere.
- 4/5
Great location
- 4/5
The hotel is very good all around and the staff great. Problem is with Hotels.com!!
- 3/5
They add on a facility fee but there are no facilities
- 5/5
Bar not stocked. Room was clean and well stocked.
- 4/5
The lobby was always very busy and it took a decent amount of time to check in and out. We also spent a lot of time waiting for the elevators. The staff was friendly though and the hotel was fine enough. The area is also very convenient.
- 1/5
Poor customer service
- 5/5
Room was spotless and staff very nice
- 3/5
The room had no thermostat and room was too hot. The elevators were incredibly slow. We waited almost 15 minutes for an elevator in the morning and all three elevators were running. I will not stay here again.
- 3/5
Also the room smelled very moldy/musty for some reason and the shower drain was clogged. On our last day it rained and the bottom floor was blocked off with tape due to a water leak and flooding. It was a very convenient location, but was expecting more at this price point.
- 1/5
Gross people are noisy and too
- 3/5
Biggest complaint the noise factor at night from the neighborhood. Second, the poor quality of the mirrors in the bathroom for make-up purposes.
- 2/5
The property itself is outdated but the rooms are clean ( at least my room was). The staff was nice and I appreciated the front desk agent granting me the 12pm checkout. I just wish there were more amenities available especially since they charge a destination fee (like all hotels nowadays but other properties have credits you can use towards snacks or some incentive attached to the extra charge). If you need anything (beverages or a snack) there’s a deli down the block. But I would have loved the convenience of a vending machine at least.
- 4/5
Spacious room with clean essentials. Pleasant staff and safe to walk in the surrounding area. Will stay again!
- 5/5
Clean room and staff was very friendly and knowledgeable
- 3/5
The elevators are ridiculously slow. No coffee maker in room. You have to go downstairs to wait in line for the mediocre coffee in the morning.
- 4/5
The room was updated (better than the last time I stayed). I appreciated the early check-in and luggage storage. Tea and coffee in the lobby is a nice amenity. The elevators are slow. You can't beat the location.
- 2/5
The room was freezing and there wasn’t a way to turn the heat up. Neither the front desk or the person they sent up had a clue. They also said they were going to follow up but that did not happen.
- 5/5
Clean room, very nice staff, great location, valet parking and parking garage.
- 4/5
Clean Room, Good Location, Quiet Location wright near time Square. The elevators are so slow there.. but otherwise I'm happy staying there!
- 5/5
Everything was perfect i enjoyed my stay
- 3/5
Valet was a disaster. Despite giving 90min notice (which is asked for), after over 2 hrs car still didn’t arrive. 4 members of our party walked to the place where cars were kept, many blocks away with luggage. Didn’t make our reservation due to this delay. And had the nerve to say charge for valet was $92 which I will challenge if it is not been refunded!
- 3/5
Elevator situation was an issue. People were waiting up to 30 minutes for an elevator. There were clanging noises randomly through the night. There are few amenities. The location is very close to Times Square
- 1/5
Very dirty hotel terrible customer service never coming back here
- 5/5
Very friendly staff very accommodating
- 4/5
Room was clean.
- 2/5
We've stayed in this hotel a few times in the past and enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill. Our room had a horribly stained carpet in several spots. The room had a sink and a wine fridge, but no coffee maker, the wine fridge was not operating, and no water bottles. I called down for water and toothpaste, and I was told there was water and toothpaste available downstairs; it was not something delivered to the room. When I got downstairs, I learned the water was in a dispenser, a detail not specified, and I did not bring a container down with me. In addition to the $800 per night, we were charged another "hotel fee" of $40 that I was not made aware of in advance. Furthermore, parking was several blocks away, and the charge to have it parked for the duration of the visit was an extra charge per day.
- 1/5
Elevator was down the entire stay! From the 10th floor. The carpet in my room was so dirty & old like it’s still original. One bed had a huge cream stain. The free coffee & chewy bars were breakfast items for a $700+ stay. I’ll never come here or ever recommend this hotel. No one helps or even at the front door at 27° It took me over 40 min to get downstairs due to elevator issues I missed 2 Ubers.
- 4/5
The room was clean and pleasant. Staff was very attentive. Unfortunately, one of the two lobby elevators was out of service for repairs, causing terrible delays. The stay was still very good overall, and the location is wonderful.
- 1/5
Dirty hotel, pillows smelled (all of them) and hard flat as pancakes. No real blanket only thin cotton between two low quality sheets. Price outrageous. Gone downhill since last stay a few years ago. Check-in staff was rude - not a hello or welcome. Don’t stay here.
- 3/5
Elevators were very slow and not consistently working. The hotel is in a Great location!! Near every thing. The room was a bit cold because the air conditioner was open to outside air. The beds were decent. Not enough pillows or bedding. Valet staff was excellent! Front desk staff excellent. TV repair person was excellent.
- 4/5
Overall room was clean and staff generally friendly. One of the Elevators was out of service.
- 4/5
The room was spotless.
- 5/5
Perfect stay
- 4/5
Rooms were clean. Elevators were sloooow .. very slow. Location good. No frills here .. would be nice to have a decent cup of coffee in the morning.
- 5/5
Staff
- 4/5
Room was clean. Great staff. The only issue was with the elevator.
- 4/5
Lovely people, good location, safe.
- 3/5
What could be improved: The rooms are in dire need of updating. The furnishings are dated and the bed linens are shabby. The bathroom is un-necessarily cramped with out-dated (and soiled) fixtures, minimal shelf/hook consideration and odd, built in soap dispensers that didn’t all work. The two in-room raised thresholds are something of a tripping hazard. WiFi on the upper floors was spotty and the morning coffee/tea in the lobby was sub-par. I didn’t see anyone at the front desk greet a single guest in the four days we stayed.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Was able to check in a little early which was a big help.
- 4/5
Good location, room was clean, but it gotten a bit noisy in the building in the morning.
- 4/5
Very good hotel that was close to Times Square area.
- 3/5
Very uncomfortable beds. Lumpy and hard
- 4/5
Accessibility
- 5/5
Very nice!
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
We stay here everytime we come to NY! Close to everything and has a certain charm about it.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff was courteous. The main elevators were under repair for nearly all my stay. That left only the small staff elevators. There were long lines to get a chance to go to our rooms. I would have walked, but my room was on the 16th floor
- 4/5
Friendly staff and good location!
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff was very friendly and accommodating
- 4/5
I like the Belvedere. Its location is great for a Broadway theater going weekend. The rooms are surprisingly large for a NY tourist hotel. The bathrooms are nice - great shower. My only complaint is that one of the central elevators was under “modernization” and it took forever to get an elevator. Even with the two service elevators available to guests - they were busy and slow, too.
- 4/5
The room was well presented. The stay, the staff, and the facilities are fine. The elevator situation is my only criticism. Great location, and ease of experience in total.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was friendly and I was allowed to leave my luggage there after check-out for the day while walking around the City.
- 5/5
Fantastic!
- 5/5
Room was dated but clean. Staff was very good!
- 5/5
Very clean & great helpful staff
- 4/5
Clean, quiet, & a wonderful view of the city from our room!
- 4/5
Clean room, good location
- 4/5
The location cannot be beat. Fantastic location, clean rooms and friendly staff. Our room was older but good enough. Downside - they never refilled our handwash the entire time and the elevators were very very slow. Overall we had a great stay
