great location and great hotel. room floor could have been cleaner and front desk is usually a bit more helpful. everyone has an off day and i would stay again in a heartbeat!

Very good mid-level hotel with excellent pricing for NYC. Staff is extremely helpful and amenities are just right for our needs. Thank you!

Everything was great! Friendly and accommodating staff, cool decor, and spacious room.

The location was perfect! 10 minutes to the metro, a corner grocery and cafe a block away. The view of the city from our balcony was AMAZING! The bartender at the hotel restaurant was lackluster. He was rude, refused to make the drink I asked for because it was too difficult. He claimed at first that the liquor required he didn’t have enough of. When I pointed out that it was enough for just the one cocktail I asked for he then claimed another guest was already drinking something with it and he didn’t want to run out of it in case she wanted another drink. When I finally settled for a ranch water he mixed it very poorly with very little tequila. He also made backhanded racist comments about his staff and their understanding his snooty British English. Definitely not a great experience!

Beautiful hotel in a quiet location! We had an apartment style room, and it was a great layout for a long weekend in Brooklyn. The breakfast was lovely and yummy. I will definitely stay here again to visit family in Greenpoint. The place was spotless, beds were comfortable, and housekeeping was exceptional.

very much like an apartment…we had a loft room with a terrace. The upstairs air conditioner emitted a lot of soot that accumulated on the top of the dresser and on the floor. The room could use a little paint refresh..…but was very clean. Comfy bed and sofa bed…very nice bed linens. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We didn’t have breakfast there, but enjoyed coffee in our room…The Lincoln Market is close by so we enjoyed picking up yogurt and fruit..to put in the refrigerator. It truly was like our own city apartment for the week….a very enjoyable stay! …

I haven’t been to this place in like 10 years and I came back and I just brought back so many good memories and I had such an awesome time. The staff was impeccable and even with the whole wedding party just managed everybody so well the cleaning staff everybody if I was better at remembering names, I asked everyone their names and I can’t remember the people in the front the door people the cleaning staff everybody we can helpful

Nice property Clean room. Just know that on the weekends there are usually weddings on property which can be very loud. The desk was nice enough to put us on a different floor than the wedding guests but the music from the venue was very loud very late. Also, room cleaning is very late if at all even with the clean room please sign out. I much prefer the sister property, Franklin House.
- 5/5
Everything about my stay was perfection. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable - best pillows ever. The city view and balcony really helped to make the room a little more than a typical hotel room. Very well situated, easy access to the train or ferry, plenty of small shops and restaurants within a few blocks. Highly recommend it.
- 3/5
Rooms were a little outdated
- 5/5
Great hotel in greenpoint. A bit of a walk to the train, but it’s right next to a great pinball arcade. I would stay at the Box Hotel again
- 5/5
The Box House is consistently excellent. Location is great, employees are incredible and the property is fun and incredibly clean.
- 5/5
great price great stay
- 5/5
This hotel is fantastic. I lived in NYC for over two decades and now need a place to stay periodically when I visit. This will be my go-to spot to book. The block is lovely with lots of beautiful flowers and landscaping, the property is well-maintained, the vibe is relaxed and the rooms are comfortable. Also, I love their sister restaurant Madre and you get a discount there if you can remember to show them your card! Looking forward to my next visit.
- 3/5
There were ants in the room ( on the couch) which were crawling on me. However, they did move us and since I order the room from hotel.com the only available offered was a late check out. I guess it was alright. A discount or a discount on a future room would have been nice. The place was recommended by my cousin that lives in Brooklyn. If I would have booked from their site I would have gotten a discount or free night.
- 5/5
I did not eat or drink there but staff was great, room was clean
- 5/5
Artsy, fun vibe, close to subway
- 3/5
The front desk employee (Ray) was very nice and helpful. Although the room and bathroom were cleaned, we had ants in the kitchen counter, sink, and the last day in the bathroom floor. Also the guests from across our room were very noisy and had their door open with a bunch of people inside at different times of the day.
- 5/5
Very pleasant public spaces, very comfortable rooms, excellent bar in the Brooklyn Lantern, and excellent hotel staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel conveniently located in Greenpoint. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
- 4/5
Parking far. Maids service requested but not even vacuum room. No water in lobby. Rest perfect. Roof top not soundproof but I could easily bounce off the bed. Too cold on roof top.
- 5/5
Nice quirky hotel
- 5/5
Our room had a full kitchen and huge outdoor terrace. Street parking was easy, spots readily available. Great restaurants walking distance.
- 2/5
It was not that the rooms were not available. It's just that the hotel management didn't allow. With an additional charge (1/3 of nightly charge) , I got the early check-in for my parents.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Great location, great staff, and amazing room. Fabulous experience.
- 5/5
great morning breakfast
- 5/5
We appreciated the comfortable bed in our room and beautiful city view. The restaurant/bar in the lobby offered coffee in the morning, and breakfast for a fee, which we didn’t have. Coffee was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Me and my guest were given complementary breakfast passes for my birthday, which was a really nice gesture. However, when me and my guest went to see what the breakfast was the worker there singled me and my African American guest out about entry when another guest of another race just walked right in without questions. We just left without getting anything because of the lady's response I was not able to get her name.
- 3/5
Easy check in and very helpful and nice staff. I also appreciate their noise policy to help ensure everyone can get some rest. I have stayed in this hotel over the years and have seen it deteriorate, unfortunately. The price is fair for what you get: A nice, clean room and bathroom in a labyrinthian hotel that hasn't been updated in years. During my stay I had only hot water in the sink and shower, which was interesting. I think they're doing their best, but I would expect more for how hip Greenpoint has become.
- 3/5
Room smelled of cleaning agents. Bed was not at all firm. Housekeeping forgot to leave toilet paper and didn’t refill shower gel.
- 5/5
Parking was tough. Bartender was awesome.

- 5/5
the rooms beautiful and staff are so nice.

The Box House is a long-time favorite of ours.
- 2/5
Coffee was cold and pastries just ok
- 3/5
-location -size of suite -air conditioning was great during unexpected April heat wave Cons: -elevator does not go to each set of rooms, some are only accessible by stairs (and staff did not offer to help with luggage even though we arrived after 9pm with 2 sleeping kids) -laundry room was out of service -rooftop is not accessible for guests, only private events -water pressure in the shower wasn’t great
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and helpful. breakfast buffet was great.
- 5/5
All good
- 2/5
Wanted to love this place but it was a fairly horrible experience. Super loud (wedding upstairs until 11am, cleanup w banging and crazy vibration until ~midnight, front desk staff diffident upon multiple complaints, no offer to switch rooms), old (audible) spring mattress, uncomfortably large, lumpy pillows, outdated decor in rooms (lobby cute as advertised), cheap styrofoam coffee cups in room, etc etc. I stay in lots of hotels and this place would just barely be worth it at 1/2 of what they charge. Hard pass, unfortunately :/
- 5/5
I had a very enjoyable stay here! The front desk staff was welcoming and efficient, the lobby area was lovely, my room was clean and charming, and the area felt very safe. The location was perfect for visiting my daughter who lives in Greenpoint, and there are restaurants and a market close by. However, there is no quick or easy way to get into Manhattan from here.
- 3/5
Not a bad hotel, but none of the streaming apps on the TV work. I called the front desk to troubleshoot and they said yeah the streaming apps are there but don't work and they just expect guests to bring their own fire stick or something to access their own streaming services. This is unacceptable.
- 5/5
Well kept and very clean facilities. Friendly staff

Great hotel, excellent breakfast, nice gym :)

- 5/5
The property was so beautiful, the staff aaa so welcoming
- 3/5
Being right next to the freight elevator exit was a nightmare because people were in and out of it all night and would let the heavy door slam. It was SO LOUD
- 4/5
The room was medium-sized, clean, had a fridge, tv and a balcony. In the cold weather, the room was appropriately heated, and the temperature was able to be personally operated. Staff were helpful and polite the entire time. The breakfast was a standard American breakfast and a great value for money. The location was close to subway links and in a great area for independent bars, Pilates classes, and low-cost restaurants. Overall, it was a great stay and would only go back if I wanted to be outside of the main city for a different vibe.
- 1/5
No, breakfast should’ve came included
- 3/5
Nice place but the floors must be really thin and you could hear people moving what sounded like chairs screeching across a wood floor every night at like 2:30am. Oh and this isn’t their fault but fyi make sure you aren’t anywhere close to a fire hydrant when you park because I know I was more than 3 feet from the one I parked next to because I was cognizant of it but had a $145 parking ticket on my car when I got back to it. Not sure how you dispute it…maybe bring a tape measure with you and take pictures and attach them to the violation they send in the mail. Definitely hard to dispute it when you are from Ohio and just there for a couple of days to enjoy the Christmas season. I still love NY and I guess I felt like a real New Yorker and probably sounded a bit like when I got my present from the wonderful parking police. They sure didn’t have to take any pictures showing my car within 3 feet but I guess Merry Christmas New York.🎅

The hotel is peaceful & beautiful, and I am grateful I got to stay and enjoy the hospitality! Thank you for making this stay such an enjoyable experience.

It’s a nice looking hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room is clean and well appointed
- 5/5
The hotel is very fun and quirky. We had a very large suite that was plenty of space for my husband, myself, and our teenage son. The weather was cold when we visited but the two balconies would be lovely in warmer weather. It was very easy to walk to the subway and commute to Manhattan. Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Fun, quirky hotel on a rapidly gentrifying part of Brooklyn. Very clean and safe.
- 5/5
The room was absolutely spotless.
- 5/5
Phenomenal Hotel nice spacious rooms
- 5/5
The attention to detail made this a truly special night that my partner will never forget. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our Valentine’s Day legendary.
- 5/5
We stayed for one night but we would definitely stay again. The room was clean and it gave a nostalgic and antique aesthetic vibe which we appreciated , from the lobby to the room. Check in and check out was a quick process.
- 5/5
We stayed at the box hotel and most of our family met there to gather between wake services Ray at the front desk went above and beyond in making us comfortable and accommodated our every request with professionalism and respect. Thank you
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay and would definitely do it again.
- 5/5
I loved the funky vibe, the room was cute with a great view, check in and check out were smooth and the staff was friendly! They were even kind enough to hold my bags so I could explore NYC before I left! Amazing!
- 5/5
Very accessible and cozy. The room was clean and spacious. The view was amazing.
- 4/5
Front desk staff courteous and friendly. Workout room clean and spacious. Sauna available. BIg rooms for NYC.
- 4/5
Staff was great and helpful. The beds/sheets were so uncomfortable. Felt like sleeping on paper. That was really the only downside. Gym is small but all I needed was a treadmill during my time there. I would come back and bring my own sheets!
- 5/5
Love the spaciousness and uniqueness and comfort of eachbroom
- 5/5
I love this hotel. I stay here whenever I am in NYC. Comfortable, clean, great staff, and quirky decor makes my stay lovely every time.
- 5/5
Great place to stay very clean
- 5/5
The front desk was courteous, the rooms were comfortable.
- 5/5
Comfy bed, clean rooms and friendly staff
- 5/5
Everything and i mean everything was amazing about this hotel every single staff member is super sweet and friendly, rooms are spotless and big and prefect, prices are great if you bundle. There is plenty to walk to around if not train right down the road the only thing that was bad was the parking ill never ever take a car again no where to park at all.
- 5/5
We are torn about this review. Partly because we cannot do printed justice to how well you run the place and partly because we don’t want anyone else to know how well run it is so that we keep availability all to ourselves whenever we need you. Hmmm. What to do what to do….
- 3/5
The staff at 3 PM was a highlight. Everyone was professional. My issue mainly was the room and the fact that this hotel did not show adequate photos of the room prior to my day the room itself was clean. There were a few damages that could easily been fixed some spackling work.
- 5/5
Always a treat to stay here and the view of the city was spectacular this time and the staff as good as ever!!
- 5/5
Super friendly staff at the desk.
- 5/5
Beautiful lobby and wonderful breakfast buffet.
- 4/5
The location was great for our needs. I’m glad I brought my headphones and sleep mask but usually travel with those items anyway. It was a bit noisy but it’s the City so was expected. We were a little disappointed the restaurant was never open while we were there, unless you pre-ordered the breakfast, but there were excellent options nearby. Le Fanfare was excellent and for breakfast Bakeri is a must. Comfy, seating, great coffee, food and service.

The staff was OUTSTANDING..shout out to jimmy& ray for going above and beyond..close to everything and very very clean..great gym & beautiful rooms
- 5/5
The beautiful decor stood out, our room was clean when we arrived and cleaning service was extremely respectful with of our privacy. Their coffee is delicious, I didn't feel the need to go out for a latte. The gym and sauna were clean and accessible, we enjoyed every day we stayed.
- 5/5
Super kind staff and a beautifully appointed, very large living space for hanging out with family. Beds were super cozy too!
- 5/5
The room is nice and large, especially by NYC standards, with a good sized fridge if you want to store food. The bathroom has a shower and bath, and plenty of counter and shelf space to keep your toiletries. There's also a nice wide ledge in the shower to keep shampoo and other shower products if you're the sort to bring your own, which I am. The staff was very friendly, and the lobby is large with plenty of comfortable places to sit and wait if you need to. Short walk to plenty of restaurants, and a handy supermarket one block away. It's a short trip by public transit to Manhattan (10 minute walk to the train and then 2 trains).
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly staff

Our friend group had a great stay at The Box House Hotel. The deluxe suite with two bedrooms provided lots of space for us to spend time together, with comfortable seating and a well appointed kitchen area. The 2 bedrooms, one king bed, one queen, were nice with comfortable beds. We were cautious about the spiral staircase to get down to the bathroom, especially at night. We enjoyed the restaurant, had great breakfasts, and a good time in the bar one evening. Staff were all first rate, and rooms were in good condition and clean.
- 5/5
Spacious and clean room with a lot of amenities, would 100% recommend staying here
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel! So clean and comfortable. Great ambiance and very close to Manhattan. I credible value for money with rooms that have full kitchens, lovely hardwoods and even a terrace! Very safe as well. The neighborhood around the hotel is totally quiet and peaceful. I parked my car several blocks away and walked back to the hotel with a female friend at 10 at night with zero fear. Access to Manhattan is an easy walk and short train ride. Will be coming back!!
- 5/5
The staff are always so courteous and make us feel welcomed. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff was awesome, even with our late arrival they took care of us quickly and were kind. The room was nice and had everything we needed.
- 4/5
Clean; road noise; noisy heater; I’ve stayed at The Box House many times and this experience was atypical
- 5/5
We were offered an upgrade at a very reasonable price to a suite. It was absolutely amazing. Comfortable quiet. The staff was very engaging and super friendly. Love the place.
- 5/5
This is the fourth time we have stayed here, but the first time we chose a one bedroom suite. Very spacious, with the usual fun Box Hotel decor. We could easily stay here a month! Love this hotel.

This place is adorable! Loved coming back each of the 4 nights we stayed and walking through the stunning lobby. Plus, beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. So conveniently located - a leisurely walk to subway (to get anywhere and everywhere). Loved our room - all the comforts of home. Highly recommended!!

- 5/5
Room was gorgeous, staff super kind. Wished I was staying longer! Unique and charming :)
- 5/5
Outstanding room and service!!!!!
- 5/5
I LOVED. The spacious suite was funky without being skanky; in fact it smelled very pleasantly of restored old building. (Can't say the same for the over-fragranced lobby.) When I mentioned the fairly loud Pulaski Bridge noise from my original room, which faced it, they moved me to an interior suite....Which was virtually silent, an astounding thing in the city! The splitter was noisy, but with the temp set at 62°at night it never turned on. The bed, probably a new tempur-pedic, was excellent. I loved having a bathtub! There is an excellent market a block away for all breakfast supplies, so I didn't need the Box's. NB: I was there on a Monday and Tuesday night, with nothing happening on the upper floors and a low number of guests. I can see that noise might be a problem on weekends.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and nice room
- 5/5
Room was super clean and staff very helpful.
- 4/5
Front desk staff were attentive and the lone waiter handling the breakfast crowd was so gentle - first thing in the morning he was refreshing to deal with. Overall the room was clean but the cleaner was not good at arranging the towels (nor the bed) Not at all. Every day I returned to a quite disheveled looking arrangement. Surprising as every day I took the time to leave it orderly. Also found trash on my floor which wasn’t from me. But despite that I loved the look and feel of The Box Hotel. It’s more convenient to mass transit that I thought, and I’ll definitely go there again. I found the atmosphere, warm and inviting and in no way pretentious. One dissapointment - the cab outside no longer does curtesy shuttle for the guests in that snazzy yellow cab outside the hotel.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, courteous staff, always enjoy our stay

- 5/5
Service was great from start to finish.

Amenities advertised including rooftop bar and restaurant and main floor bar were closed or deserted.there was nothing provided for the added resort fee.
- 5/5
Excellent room + very good staff + bery good bar and restaurant
- 4/5
The layout of my room was weird. The bedroom was up in the loft but the bathroom was downstairs. So you have to go all the way downstairs to get to the bathroom. Otherwise, the interior design of the hotel was beautiful. Staff were friendly. And the location was convenient.
- 5/5
My wife and I had an amazing stay. Clean room, great staff, and the vintage decor gives the whole place a fun time-warp vibe. My wife also took a website-worthy shot of the entrance with the vintage taxi out front. I almost don’t want to recommend it so it’s not booked next time, but 10/10. We’ll be back!
- 3/5
If I return for another stay, I will request a room on a higher floor and/or further away from the lobby. My room was not far from the lobby area from which there was a lot of noise until 1AM. And my first floor location had light streaming in from outside with no option to cover. These experiences impacted the quality of my time in my room, including sleep.
- 5/5
Location and overall property is an interesting well done boutique conversion. Room size super generous with kitchenette although outdated.
- 5/5
Clean room, good amenities, very kind staff
- 5/5
The room was like a stylish apartment, had two bottles of water in the fridge, sofa bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly. Housekeeping was friendly too. Someone was always there to open the entry door for you. Would have loved to have a few snacks and drinks in the room (would have been happy to pay!)
- 4/5
It seemed like housekeeping was understaffed because our room was not cleaned a couple days during our stay. Not really a big deal because we keep things pretty tidy, but should be mentioned. Finally, there were weddings both Saturday and Sunday evenings and you could hear the bass from the DJ until around 10PM. We stay at The Box House occasionally, and this was the first time I've had to give less than glowing feedback. The 3 issues I mentioned would not be enough to prevent us from staying there again.
- 5/5
Staff were great and helpful! Hotel decor is really cool. Clean room.
- 4/5
Downside room was not ready at three for check-in heating and air conditioning. System was so loud. It woke up multiple times at night as well as the overhead fan.
- 5/5
Excellent neighborhood and spacious rooms.
- 5/5
Beautiful room that felt much cozier than a nondescript room at a chain hotel. The breakfast buffet had delicious eggs. Nice gym for a quick workout.
- 5/5
Everything about The Box Hotel made for a pleasant weekend experience. The location was relatively convenient for the various things we wanted to do over the course of our stay. The lobby area of the property was quite attractive, and our room was very comfortable - not large, but very clean and crisp. The staff member who took my call advising that we might not arrive until the latter part of the evening was understanding and assured me that our timing would not be an issue. The desk personnel, both at check-in and check-out, were pleasant and courteous and answered whatever questions we had easily. We enjoyed our stay.

Location, room, staff
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 2/5
The hotel was fine and in a good location. The glaring problem was the service. On the first day, they gave us a room that was already occupied. When we went down to the desk to get it corrected, the guy at the front desk seemed confused and then bizarrely ran away. We asked to speak to a manager and were told that she would be in touch. The next day, when we asked to speak to the manager again, the woman at the front desk berated us for being rude and difficult (we were neither—we just wanted to speak to the manager). During our entire 4-night stay, we were never allowed to speak to the manager. A couple of smaller things: on day 3, they took all our towels and left us with none. On day 4, they failed to service our room despite having the "please service" sign on the door. These aren't major issues, but for the price we were paying I would expect better. The worst offense was the treatment by front desk staff and the refusal to let us talk to the manager.
- 4/5
Thin TP. Staff did not re stock coffee. When you open the freezer door ice cubes fall on the ground. 600+ per night...
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and the staff was great.
- 4/5
Good stay overall
- 5/5
Very cute room with a nice lobby. Easy check in and check out process ( was able to get a 90 min late check out no problem) Great shower and very nice view from our room
- 5/5
Some vegetables, other than baked potatoes, and fruits such as bananas and/or apples for breakfast would be greatly appreciated.
- 5/5
It was nice, surprised that there was a kitchenette in the room and dual televisions.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel, everything was great except the mattress. If they changed that, I’d stay there every single visit.
- 3/5
It's a good location
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 5/5
Awesome location for a NY wedding.
- 5/5
The rooms are nicely furnished with a more modern home feel than a sterile hotel. A very hip vibe and the staff had that same energy too. The room was very clean and had great views. The area is a little removed from hustle and bustle, but getting around was pretty easy.
- 5/5
The room was not only so unique, comfortable & clean, but simply gorgeous as well! We had one of the rooms with no elevator access (worth it!) so it’s a little hike with luggage, but the woman at the front desk, I wish I could remember her name, was such an angel in helping me get all of our bags upstairs. My sisters and I stayed here for a quick overnight so we didn’t get to explore much, but we loved what we saw and experienced in that short time! This hotel has such a special charm about it, and for a great price might I say! A true hidden gem!

Eventually they confirmed around 11pm the hotel was overbooked and did nothing to accommodate either of us.
- 3/5
Room was an apartment with no windows, which as not disclosed at booking. Average hotel for the money.
- 5/5
It’s my go to each time I’m in NYC. Love how creative and unique it is!
- 1/5
There was a cockroach in our room, it was disgusting.
- 5/5
The perfect Greenpoint hotel! Just artistic enough, just luxurious enough, and centrally located. Couldn’t ask for more!
- 5/5
Hotel sits near the G Train on a few streets exits, lots of free parking, lots of Deli & Coffee shops, shopping is near by a quick uber, sits next to a bridge that is walkable to food and train. I enjoyed my stay and the staff was amazing.
- 5/5
Great style. Nice rooms. Very clean.
- 3/5
Staff was not very friendly at front desk. Coffee at breakfast was cold and felt old.
- 5/5
very attentive and helpful front desk
- 5/5
We loved it so much and will be back for sure!

From our arrival until our checkout both the quality and hospitality were sorely lacking, except for Dennise who was truly exceptional.. When we arrived on Monday we were curtly told that no rooms would be ready until 3. after I saw a number of people check in I was informed that our kind of room was not ready?! At that point there was no indication of any problem. When we returned that evening, after 45 minutes with no explanation, we were told that our kind of room was not available and were presented with 2 choices. There was a vague indication of working out a fee shift, but no apologies of any sort were offered. The room we received was clearly a last ditch or not to be used unless room. Our room in August was filled with pictures and objects. This room had one picture, a plant stand without a plant, and magazines from 3 years' ago, In addition, there was no soap, not enough towels, no ice bucket, and a shower that did not fully operate. In the morning we asked repeatedly to speak with the manager repeatedly and never heard from her

Cozy spot. Cool vibe. Great location. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
When we arrived at check-in time, the lobby was full of people waiting for their rooms to be ready. We were told a 20 min wait and when we came back over an hour later, we were told it would be another 10 min or so. We waited another 30 min and barely got into our room before we had to meet our family for an event. It was chaotic and unprofessional and no apologies were given. It was a poor start to our trip. The hotel has ambiance and character and our stay was uneventful after check-in, but it was a very unpleasant start to our trip.

Beautiful room
- 4/5
The room was very comfortable and cozy, the bathroom spacious and the decor was very sweet. The only thing was anything happening in the hallway was very audible (like clearly) in the room. It was ok because we were already awake but for a quiet hotel it seemed strange there were not more things in place to make the hallway to bed quieter. Otherwise the rooms were quiet during main quiet hours and very comfortable ! It was also walking distance to delicious restaurants and the lobby was very unique and special.

I have stayed at the Box House now a few times and it is always nice! I prefer to be a little off the beaten path but remaining walkable and close by to a lot activities, so its perfect!
- 5/5
Had a great stay here and would return the next time we’re back in Brooklyn. We got an unexpected room upgrade after they accommodated us for an early arrival. Really appreciated their hospitality & highly recommend.
- 5/5
Very nice people. Good vibes
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location!
- 2/5
It smelled and had very random decor. It felt unclean.
- 5/5
Rooms are big for NYC standards. Eclectic rooms fitting the boutique vibe, small balcony with a bistro set and updated bathrooms. We would stay again. We got to the property about 11 am and was informed check in is at 2.30pm. They said they had rooms but early check fee is $80 or they could store our bags and we could come back after 2.30. Not used to paying for early check in, but somewhat typical NYC. Front staff was efficient. 2 bottles of water and a big refrigerator were in the room. It would have been nice if they replaced the water bottles for our 2nd night stay. Overall would recommend to friends and family.
- 3/5
If you want a place with superficial ambiance that seems charming when you arrive yet otherwise uncomfortable this is your place. Beds are upstairs from your room and uncomfortable. You hear everyone walking/talking in halls. Amenities are second rate.
- 5/5
This hotel was so convenient to our family members via walking over the Pulanski Bridge. The room was awesome. The breakfast was awesome. The front desk was awesome. Thank you so much. We’ll be back!
- 5/5
I love staying at the Box House when in town.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Nice place and rooms, spacious and private patios
- 5/5
Well arranged boutique hotel. Nicely renovated old hotel. Preserved some of the history of times past. Hallways rather warm. But room temperature can be adjusted accordingly. Tucked away in a quiet part of Brooklyn but still accessible to main areas by a short cab ride.
- 5/5
Loved everything about the hotel
- 5/5
Classy
- 5/5
The rooms are beautiful and so well designed beautiful proceeds and the food at the bar is great
- 5/5
Great stay. Awesome hotel. Would stay again.
- 5/5
The hotel had heaps of character! I absolutely adored the room that I stayed in. You could very walk to the subway and be in Manhattan within a few minutes! I had forgotten to pack soap and shampoo, but it was no matter - the shampoo and amenities at The Box House were wonderful to use. If you are having an overnight, or an extended stay in NYC. Keep The Box House on your radar!
- 5/5
Great location for us but off the beaten path which is good in the city and still convenient to restaurants, etc.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The only complaint was room service forgot to give us new towels when cleaning our room. A simple call to the front desk took care of that small issue.
- 5/5
I would return and recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. I enjoyed the bar downstairs and the bartender was friendly and I enjoyed his conversation.
- 5/5
love, the bed it was great, and the shower was awesome.
- 4/5
The bed was very comfortable, the room was nice, my only complaint was their was no elevator and we stay on the 3rd floor
- 5/5
Hotel with unique vibe. While a little out of the way for some people (but not for me as my daughter lives nearby), this is now my new favourite hotel in NYC.
- 5/5
very comfortable bed slept through out the evening!
- 5/5
Large space, comfy , great neighborhood
- 5/5
Wonderful stay at the Box House Hotel where we were also having our daughter’s wedding. The staff was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. It was a very satisfying experience
- 5/5
The whole experience was fantastic. I wish i had more time to explore the area.
- 5/5
Hotel is beautiful and very nice decor they did well with decorating the lobby and it gives a wonderful old sloop feel
- 5/5
The people at the front desk are always great to me
- 5/5
I love the decor and the rooms were clean. The service was good too. It was a great stay overall!!
- 5/5
It’s a great property however a bit of a walk to restaurants and activities.
- 5/5
Staff has been great. The patio is a bid worn as is the furniture. Would have been nice to have some hand cream and shower cap in the bathroom.
- 5/5
This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel because I have relatives in the area. I love the quirky decor, spacious rooms, and amenities like a water boiler and coffee maker in the room, and the bathrooms are well-equipped and new. It's also super easy to park in this neighborhood. The only thing I don't like about this hotel is that, depending on who is staffing the front desk, if you arrive early, they will try to charge you $75 to check in early, which happened to us on 4th of July when we arrived at 1 pm and were told that, if we wanted to check in then and NOT at 3 pm, we would have to pay the surcharge. That seems like a pretty silly rule since clearly the room was already cleaned and it was only a couple of hours early, especially since we're repeat customers. It was off putting enough that I might consider going to another hotel, since I've never had another place do that. Having said that, everything else about the hotel is great.
- 4/5
We stayed in The Box House Hotel when we were attending our sons wedding at a venue just up the block. We did not like the original 2 bedroom room that we had booked, but the staff were wonderful and worked with us to find a good alternative that we were very happy with..We went during an intense heat wave and the AC worked very well (although it was very noisy!). We didn't like the rug in the living area - it was slippery and a bit dirty, and the toilet clogged while we were there. However, the staff was wonderful and quickly dealt with it. If we had reason to be in Greenpoint Brooklyn in the future we would definitely stay at The Box House Hotel again.

Good
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Artsy, clean, safe, and spacious room. I’ve stayed here 3 times. Love it.
- 3/5
Customer service less than experienced at other hotels. Incorrect information provided at check-in regarding parking. No information provided on restaurant hours. Room found unlocked at arrival.
- 5/5
Hip hotel and people so nice!
- 5/5
We loved our stay! The hotel was really fun, decorated very stylishly, and the room was very comfortable. It was quiet, which isn’t always a given! Loved it, will stay again!
- 5/5
The decor was amazing!!!
- 4/5
Wonderful staff. Breakfast buffet was ok but the same everyday and short of choices. Room A/C was noisy. Room was really a studio apartment, probably in a former life. Great neighborhood.
- 5/5
We stayed in one of the suites which was perfect for 3 of us. The apartment was large and we had a lovely terrace deck. The hotel itself was great, the bartender at the tavern was wonderful and we even found on-street parking quite easily. The pullout sofa bed was really not comfortable but I used the sofa cushions for extra padding and it worked. There was a wedding with a live band both Saturday and Sunday nights which was quite noisy, but stopped around 11. Overall, we would stay here again.
- 5/5
Very unique hotel
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming, room was very nice, hotel had a great vibe. A little pricey but it's NY!
- 5/5
We were visiting our daughter in Brooklyn/Greenpont area. Great place to stay us. They gave us an upgrade and the room was amazing. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
I would stay again. Staff awesome.

Retro modern hotel in most northern part of Greenpoint. Property is well maintained. Staff is friendly. Rooms are comfortable. Neighborhood has many dining options and is 15 minute walk to subways.

- 5/5
Fantastic experience!
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Staff was friendly and room was clean.

Gorgeous property

I enjoyed my stay at The Box Hotel. The team was nice and responsive. I will say there were a few maintenance issues; the toilet would not flush( but the team was very helpful in correcting the issue), the gym did not have sanitary whips or towels for the equipment, the ice machine on my floor was broken, there was no ice bucket in my room. But those few points aside I loved the esthetic and the rooms were nice and large. I look forward to going back and staying at the box hotel.
- 5/5
The view of the Manhattan skyline was amazing!!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and quiet. The bed and linens were comfortable. Bathroom was nicely done with marble. Extra shelving was a nice touch for toiletries. Room was equipped with a nice size minifridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, as well as a wine bottle opener.
- 5/5
Stayed in a terrace suite. Had everything we needed for dining in and tons of space. The terrace was large and relatively private. Our only complaints were the couch being too low and the bed being too firm, but both were still totally doable. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Easy check in/check out, great space for a group. Was anxious about staying in Brooklyn but this was very stress free. Would stay here again.
- 2/5
Was unavailable at check in time. Once an hour late and now an hour and 20 minutes. Yet to check in even 45 minutes early you will be charged $75 plus taxes. Reason for delayed check in was they had late checkouts. No empathy or this time no offer for a drink or

Nice, quiet and accessible. Good breakfast options nearby. Convenient grocery store nearby as well.

The Boxhouse Hotel is in a renovated factory or warehouse building. The interior design has a lot of character and is very Brooklyn. With tons of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants around it’s in a great location and as a former neighborhood resident I can say the area is very safe. I recommend getting breakfast included; it’s fantastic.
- 5/5
Beautiful and cozy and clean! I felt very safe here and welcome. It’s got amazing decor as well.
- 5/5
Beautiful place, big room, good breakfast, cool Brooklyn design vibe. About 15 min walk to the 7.

Stay was ok giving its in the middle of the slums.(surrounded by abandoned cars and buildings) Metro was a walkable distance as well. However as we checked out we were accused of smoking on the property. That's a reason to say something immediately not charge my card and tell me upon check. My husband left out and smoked in our car at night or out front during the day, where they have cameras and 24 hr Staff present. They refused to walk back in the room with me just going off a smell that can be in clothes and the word of a housekeeper. If you are not ok with smoking why have a smoking section right in front of the hotel. My family and I booked the only 2 bdr loft they have. We are well traveled and know what is expected of us as guests. Very disappointing end to spring break
- 5/5
We were visiting from Indy and chose this hotel to be near our son's apartment. We were very happy with our stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated. There was good coffee in the room. Rooms were cleaned and resupplied daily. The shower was great. And we had nice view of the NY skyline.
- 5/5
Great access to good restaurants and the pedestrian path into Queens. My only comment would be the sticky tables in the restaurant I tried 3 different tables and they were all sticky to the touch
- 5/5
Excellent rooms and staff. Great bar, too.
- 5/5
Very cool hotel!!
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times before and I can say always very clean.
- 4/5
We loved having the extra space in this Brooklyn hotel. The room we chose was a suite with a large balcony. The hotel also had a nice bar and a comfortable lobby seating area to hang out and chat. The front desk staff was incredible. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
This Hotel was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was very nice and easy to speak to. The only thing I did not like was that it was tough to find parking. Other than that, the hotel was amazing!
- 4/5
On the edge of some walkable areas of Brooklyn.
- 5/5
This is a gem of a hotel close to main roads and transportation in Brooklyn. Very quirky, fun decor and bar. Friendly staff.
