Me encanta el Chelsea por todo, quizá lo único que esta vez no fue lindo es que tuvieron un evento con la marca Prada y había demasiada gente en el lobby, en los elevadores, en la calle, a lobby largo de 5 días

Hotel Chelsea is a wonderful place to stay in the Chelsea neighborhood with a rich history. William gave us a private tour of the property with great stories about it's past, including his personal experiences. We had a minor issue with the hot water which was promptly fixed. A fun, somewhat funky place and we will definitely be back.

The Hotel Chelsea a gem! Our room was so incredibly cozy. We stayed in a Petite Suite and were absolutely blown away by the decor, the floorplan layout, the balcony doors, the water pressure (best ever), and, of course, the service and hospitality from staff was fantastic too. We enjoyed massages at the spa and dinner & drinks at the Cafe Chelsea, Lobby Bar, Teruko (first time eating sushi!) and via room service. I recommend the Hotel Chelsea if you’re wanting to immerse yourself in true New York culture. Absolutely wonderful on all accounts!

It's not cheap, but what do you expect if you want somewhere as good as this? The staff were ultra polite and helpful, even got me onto a front balcony for a Dee Dee Ramone shot. My room was beautifully furnished and decorated, very sympathetic to the building. The artwork on the walls meant I hardly used the lift,it was a joy to walk past it. Go to the in house restaurant, the speciality lobster and steak is a treat.

Although I loved the hotel and it is a step back in time which is one of the reasons I had waited for a long time to go there. My Main complaint was I booked a Premier room for a special weekend in New York. On the website It looks like it comes with a balcony and when you get there if you haven’t called and reserved a specific balcony room, you pay the same amount of money but get a room that is not nearly as nice. Felt a lot like a baiting switch. I would not recommend getting the Premier room if you’re not sure you’re getting one.

Eat at least once at the hotel. But reserve a table. Go for it. In town that night and don’t want to start searching the city for something to do, get tickets to Gotham Comedy club next door, don’t need a coat to use to get there! Then 10 steps back to the Hotel. Very easy.

I totally enjoyed the stay, the parking garage arrangements were well done. The staff was super helpful, the restaurants we visited and room service were great. I loved the art throughout the hotel, the mix of stories about famous celebrities as well as ghost stories really made the place feel special. A lot of nice touches in design. The technology was good too, wifi, tvs capable of connecting to one's phone, it was all good. I hope to return and would highly recommend for a fun time exploring NYC's mid to lower Manhattan.

I stayed in the Grand Suite Chelsea, a corner suite on the ninth floor. The room itself is exceptional. Flooded with natural light, beautifully designed, and generous in scale. That said, the bedroom within the suite is noticeably tight compared to the living areas. It works, but it is something to be aware of. The in-room experience is where the property really distinguishes itself. The minibar is fully stocked, with non alcoholic beverages and snacks offered on a complimentary basis, while alcoholic options are available for purchase. It is a thoughtful and genuinely appreciated touch. And candidly, the rooms here surpass those at Chateau Marmont in every respect. As I have said before, Chateau Marmont is overdue for a refresh. I spent time in the spa as well. It is pleasant and well executed, though not what I would classify as true luxury. Still, a lovely experience. The gym, located in its own space on the top floor, is beautifully done and feels like a hidden asset of the hotel. The lobby bar sets the tone for the evenings. It is a great space for drinks and atmosphere. Service, however, was uneven. While the staff is attentive, it

Overall the hotel is a really interesting space, not generic luxury at all. The hotel bars, cafes, and restaurants are all really lively and feel great to spend time in. They have a real neighborhood feel. This is a 5 star hotel on a 2 star street. It's a wide street that's pretty noisy and ugly. Not much they can do about it though. To be clear, the location is fantastic for accessibility to other parts of Manhattan, but the block is unpleasant.

I went up during the snow Mageddon in February 2026 and stayed for a couple of nights in New York City, it is perfectly situated and as a solo traveler, I felt very safe. Charming old converted apartment building with rich history. Very quaint, but quirky if you don’t know what you’re getting into. The lobby is actually off putting, it almost looked like a low end 1 star hotel. When you get to the front desk, you start to see the charm. Good restaurants in the building. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Our room was tiny, but I think that was just what was available on short notice during the holiday season. The gym was also tiny, but it was also charming. In the converted attic with views of the neighborhood.

Cons: This is for the Petite Chelsea room. The room is small, but expected size for NY. It got no light because the only window was facing other buildings. The lighting in the room is very dim, which is part of the hotel vibe. But when combined with no natural light, it’s very dark and depressing in the room. Would not stay in one of these rooms due to that. Did walk by a bigger street facing room that had the door open and that seemed better. Room seemed clean, but it was hard to see anything close up due to the dimness to really tell. Shower was ok, couldn’t get very hot water the first day, was fine on my second day. Had shampoo with a metal cap that needed to be removed, but bathroom is so dark even with the lights on i couldn’t figure out how to open it. lol tl;dr - nice property if you like the old new york vibe, nice staff, depressing and dark room

The vibe, scenery and bars at the hotel are great. The gym/spa are small but very nice. - There was a tenant living in the room across the hall (older lady) that would cook every day/afternoon and open the door to the hallway so her appartment could clear out, the whole hallway and our room would smell of her cooking which wasn't great. - as we checked in into our paid 'upgraded/king bed/high floor' room it smelled like an ashtray. We requested another room as it was not pleasant. - They moved us to a room in the 1st floor, super noisy, impossible to rest and sleep as all the noise from the busy 23rd street and cleaning crews, trashcans, etc. - don't get a balcony room unless you smoke, it's totally useless.

The following morning, I walked past the front desk where two guest service agents were present. Neither of them acknowledged me with a greeting. The only person who wished me “good morning” was the doorman as I exited and re-entered the property. Later that day, when I returned and stood near the elevator, the same two guest service agents again did not acknowledge me. When I placed my bag in storage upon my return, the guest service agent initially attempted to find a doorman to assist, but when none was available, she personally handled the task. I appreciated her effort, but I believe it highlights an inconsistency in the level of service the hotel strives to provide.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms, staff, dining options & ambiance of the public spaces were fabulous. The hotel, which is loaded with a fascinating history, is like an art gallery. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it in a hotel format before. The rooms themselves are also unique and full of character. It felt as though you were in your own apartment. There was nothing generic about this experience. The hotel is also made up of rooms that are available for guests of the hotel, combined with rooms that are occupied by permanent residents who you are quite likely to encounter during your stay. Many of them are very interesting & accomplished people. This added another unique twist to the experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The history behind the hotel is so cool. William, the bellhop was so knowledgeable. I wish there was a formal tour as part of the check in service and that William had a whole staff under him to help lift up the historical aspect of the hotel. I could have spent much more time talking and wish I didn't feel like I was interrupting him from doing his job. Its so important to preserve the history of New York and all the art, music and poetry that happened in this hotel. Above expectations in every possible way. I was absolutely blown away by all, and I mean all aspects of this amazing vernerated establishment. From start to finish of my husband's and I's 7-night stay, in celebration of our anniversary, in a Chelsea Suite in July 2025, left me saying 'Wow, I am truly sad to be leaving such a wonderful place, but I am so excited at the prospect of returning!' Service from the doormen, front desk, and housekeeping was top-notch - with attention to detail that sets it apart from other five-star hotels that we've stayed at in North America. So many of the amenities were lux and much appreciated - complimentary wine and handwritten note in acknowledgement of our anniversary, turndown water and treats, wide range of toiletries, lush bathrobes and branded slippers, wonderfully soft bedding/linens/towels, and all the provisions necessary for using the dishwasher, washing machine, and cooking in the gas-range kitchen equipped with high-end cookware, utensils dishware, and full-size fridge/freezer. The furniture and all the finishing in the suite were so luxurious with a feel of timelessness, and the view of the city skyline including One World Trade was spectacular at any time of day. The surrounding area was super convenient for groceries and eating-out to fit a variety of budgets and tastes, as well as easy access to several subway and bus lines, and a major transit hub, NY Penn station. Like I said, above expectations! Can't wait to return soon.

We dined in the cafe every morning and the food was wonderful but service was spotty. All three mornings our service began well and slowly tapered off until at the end we had to search for someone to give us our final bill. We visited the lobby bar several times and service was very good most of the time. One evening, after seeing a show we went to the lobby bar for drinks and some food. After being seated, our server proceeded to take care of everyone around us and completely ignore us. Twice I had to find someone else to help with things like napkins, water…basics. The room was lovely and quite comfortable, but the pillows are not. My neck was so unhappy by the end of the stay that I bought a vacuum bag set so I’ll never have to travel without my own pillow again! In spite of these few negatives, we had a lovely time and would absolutely return here.

I’ve always wanted to stay here; and rounded out my honeymoon with an overnight at the Chelsea! The service was STELLAR, we were given an upgrade for the occasion, a handwritten card, and a little gift from the hotel. In addition- my husband left his bag in a taxi (not an uber) which seemed like a needle in a haystack to try to track down. The front desk crew gave us swift assistance and tips and we were able to track down the driver (and backpack)! The room was CHOICE, wonderful attention to detail, super lush and comfortable, and the bath was heavenly. I would stay here all the time if I could afford it! This was a 50th birthday gift for me & it far exceeded my wildest dreams. The designers not only nailed the aesthetic, they honored its personality down to the very last details. I have never stayed anywhere where every single employee from the front desk, to the housekeepers, the servers & one of my new favorite humans, Sadie, the hostess at El Quijote LOVED their job & were visibly & palpably honored to be there. It was a joy to experience. My other new favorite human, however is one of your doormen, William Benton who is much more a hotel ambassador, docent & I would even say greatest value add within the Chelsea. One of the very reasons I booked my stay was b/c I'd been made aware of his tours and it was not only the highlight of my stay, but the highlight of my week long trip in the Big Apple. William's knowledge of and passion for the Chelsea was breathtaking. There was no question I had he couldn't answer, no stones left unturned. As someone who's studied this hotel from afar for years, I was mind blown at all I DIDN'T know but gleaned. Because of William, we were able to see every floor roof to lobby & become acquainted with the soul of this space. There is no better person imaginable to guide that tour & as someone who intends to return year after year & refer numerous friends as well, my great hope would be that the Chelsea makes keeping William & this sacred tour a priority. Publicizing the tour a bit would be a huge draw to future guests & locals alike.

Excellent service, very cool, artsy, luxury vibe but with a little grit. We stayed in a suite which had incredible amenities and space, like. luxury apartment. But, the sofa was dingy and a little gross, and we had to pay extra for a cot because it was not a sofa bed. The kitchen and bath had phenomenal fixtures and appliances. The balcony was a wonderful surprise. It was a little noisy outside at times, but it’s new york so nothing unexpected. Service was super friendly. Parking was a little far away and required arguing with the attendant to get the deal the hotel coupon indicated. This is a 5-star review in many ways, but with a few nits that travelers may want to be aware of that took it down to 4 stars for my review.

The Hotel Chelsea is fantastic. The renovations have brought an icon of art and creativity to everyone. The staff are excellent and attentive and the restaurant and cafe are worth a few visits. Highly recommended.

Hotel has a storied past and it’s lovely it’s come back to life under such great renovation. The lobby is vibey and warm, the rooms incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished with luxuriously comfy beds, the bars and restaurants cozy and stylish. The bathrooms are pretty cool but way too damn dark. Forget seeing your m-up. Lamps, ceiling fixtures and fabrics all great, some sweet attn to detail. Art super questionable if not downright ugly. Now here’s my honest rundown: the place is upscale, poshly done and very hip. The lobby and central stairwell are dark and a little claustrophobic and the area around the hotel not very picturesque. So if you’re super hip and must be with the painfully hip people of Chelsea you’ll love this hotel - the nicest of the hip joints in the hood and with truly crazy fantastic beds and wonderful staff. If however like me you like luxurious interiors, bright lobby and upscale neighborhood head to Park Lane or at least Midtown. After 3 days at the Chelsea I was desperate to get out and catch my breath somewhere more fab.

The Hotel Chelsea was fantastic. Cool old building with lots of history. Rooms keep the charm of a historic hotel, but upgraded and updated to provide the comfortable conveniences a luxury hotel should offer. Our room was incredibly quiet. You would never know you were in NYC. We'll be back.

Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s stunning and has been renovated sensitively, preserving many of the original features. Plus it’s steeped in so much cultural history! Nearly cried when I had to leave!

We loved the hotel. We were having trouble with the toilet. So we let them know. 2 hours later we returned to our room with no water and a toilet laying on the ground. It was supposed to be a staycation for my daughter. We ended up just spending the day at her house so we could use water and take showers. They did credit me $50 on a $500 room and changed rooms for me when I got back that night, but I was by myself and left early in the morning. Was kind of disappointed I spent that kind of money and really didn't get to enjoy it with my daughter.
