Well maintained clean property. Very basic amenities. Enjoyable stay

Room was clean and small but comfortable enough for one. air conditioning worked well. good access to subway. the breakfast provided was a disappointment. No fresh fruit or refrigerated items such as yogurt were provided as they typically are at other similar locations.

Clean linens & room. Helpful staff. I was surprised at the variety/options included in the free breakfast - it was great! Minor issues with maintenance - our toilet clogged and we notified the desk. 11 hours later, after arriving back to the room, it still wasn't fixed or checked, but staff was responsive and quickly delivered a key to us for one of the neighboring rooms so we could use that toilet. Which, actually was kind of nice to have the privacy as there were three of us in our room! Area with chairs/tables for smoking outdoors. We didn't use the parking but the on-site spots would be a major bonus if we had had a car. Surprisingly quiet area with walkable access to great food and subway access. Gravesend pizza delivers to the hotel and it's excellent! Also, great value!!!

Hotel was ok but in the room some of the floor was missing (wood floor) - found used contacts on the floor as well near the bed. The window was nice minus a slash in the screen which deferred me from using to avoid having bugs come in. The free complimentary breakfast was certainly lacking. Also wish they had provided complimentary water.

Room gave me and my partner a lot of allergies, I don’t think it was cleaned very well. We also saw a bug on the bathroom floor. No outlets next to bed. Otherwise, the room was okay, shower was really good.

This is a basic hotel but very clean. Breakfast is provided which is nice. Staff are helpful. Was there for a work meeting and totally appropriate for the task and the area.

Room was dirty with mold in the shower, breakfast wasn’t just bad - it was somehow actually sad and depressing, staff were disengaged at best, and there is nooooo space to even walk around the bed in the room. On the positive side, location is convenient! We ended up leaving a day early even though they made it clear we would still be charged. It was just too gross.

Good for its location, super clean modern room, the only real complaint was how noisy it was. You'd hear anyone leaving or coming to their room. Also had a bit of trouble working the thermostat, but beyond that it was good.

The really appreciated the free parking when available. The rooms were clean and it was a great location to take the subway to Time Square I told the check in clerk that I wanted my room cleaned everyday and the young lady the next morning was hesitant to have someone to clean the room after 11 am.

The L Hotel was clean and well maintained. Our rooms were very comfortable. We did find a parking spot amongst the limited space available. There was some on street space. Breakfast was good but minimal, no fruit. There was a very helpful attendant. Close to Industrial City.

Breakfast was sad, the only hot breakfast to score was a do it yourself waffle machine. Cups for coffee were way too small! 4-6oz. And the choices were absolutely bare minimal. They could do better.

Great place to stay in Brooklyn. The staff were really nice, and the room was comfy. Close to the subway and a whole lotta local bodegas and resturants. Check out industry city nearby, gravesend pizza, or Big Johns. Would stay here again 😎

The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and is not too far away from Manhattan. The staff was friendly. There's plenty of places to eat around the area.

Everything was clean when I arrived, with an exception from the floors (general dust). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was okay, so I skipped it most days, only had it twice. Bagel, white bread, muffins, cereal, coffee, water, juice, and waffles. I preferred to eat out instead. Overall, I will be returning.

The service desk attendant was very nice and helpful. We ran into problems immediately unfortunately. The room we were given hadn't been cleaned and had a mess from a previous guest. The new room we received was better cleaned. However, the lamp shade was broken, the coffee maker was really dusty, and the wall paper was peeling in large sections. The photos taken of this place must have been from when they first opened because it does not look like that anymore. I feel like we were catfished. The two good things I can say about the hotel are that there weren't any bugs and it was in a good location. We will not be back to this hotel though.

The accommodation was decent for the price. The only complain we had was one of the bath towels has someone’s hair on it. Maybe it was not cleaned thoroughly. But over all it was nice experience.

There was no room cleaning. We had problems with the room key several times. I expected more from the breakfast, at least hot food.

The hotel was okay overall for a quick stay, but definitely needed some maintenance. There were holes in the walls and wallpaper peeling up in a few areas, which made it feel a little run down. Breakfast was very basic with limited options. The location was convenient and near a shopping center which was nice.

Breakfast was bland, no variety. Microwave didn’t work, had to change rooms three times due to strong cleaning solution odor that made us ill, what looked like blood stains on the back of the drapes, nightstand drawer wouldn’t close, vending machine took only change but front desk didn’t have any quarters, and still waiting for refund for a room I canceled within an hour of booking. Will not stay there again.

Parking lot behind the hotel is small. First come first serve basis. The breakfast is only bagels, muffins, cereal and fruit juice. There is a waffle maker if you want to make your own waffle. The rooms are small. My room did not have a working tv. I was told there was an issue with the tv provider. The hotel is in a mixed use space that is primarily industrial. Kind of spooky at night.

The L is a solid value within walking distance to a few decent restaurants. Room was clean and in order. Bathroom feature a good shower. Reported loose wallpaper on one wall, desk guy said he would report. Breakfast not special. Walk a couple blocks if you want a complete menu.

Mold in shower, lamp with no knob to turn on, shower head full of crud, bloodstain (?) on sheet-- it was awful. Nice employees, but the room we had was one of the worst ever. Reviews are either fake, or we got the 1 terrible room. Fronr desk was apologetic, had no idea, gave us late check out. Better than nothing at all i guess.

Small room. No outlets for phone. I used the bathroom outlet. Pulled the mattress away from the wall to look for one. The headboard behind the mattress was dirty with no accessible outlet.Front desk at check in was pleasant.

Def a diamond in the rough. The neighborhood sucks, aside from industry city down the block. There is parking in front and behind. Building is newish and the rooms are clean and pretty modern, albeit small, as expected. Bed was firm and comfy. Breakfast is included although we didn’t partake. Will def stay again when in the area.

You smell marjauana in the elevator . The room has no closet , no iron or iron board , we gave to ask them to come and take the trash out . No toothpaste or toothbrush

The room did not give an option for heat. The room only had a cool and fan option. The breakfast provided was unexpected. There was only cereal and an unsanitary waffle station. The like was served in giant 2 gallon containers at room temperature. No ice or refrigerator was given for beverages or milk that was supposed to be served cold

Staff is pretty unfriendly. Make sure you show up at check-in time and not even a minute before or they will try and charge you their early check-in fee. Unfortunately I saw a few parties being hassled about it. Other than that, no complaints. Hotel is clean enough and close to subways so it does the job.

The breakfast was a nice idea but they didnt have any protein options. Its all bread! Their parking is LIMITED. I luckly found a spot, but expedia does not market it like that. It said "parking included" but there is no warning that it is not guaranteed. If you check in on the weekend you should have a back up plan for your car and research other parking areas just in case. And if you have a big vehicle you will have issues navigating the tight space where the parking is located behind the hotel. The staff was nice, no complaints. The walls are thin so expect to hear your neighbors if the botel is busy. The proximity to the subway was good. Overall i would probably stay again as long as: 1. i brought a protein for breakfast or was willing to eat out. 2. Had a back up parking plan 3. Didnt check in on a weekend when super busy.

In my first room, the air-conditioning was perfect however, in the second room, I had problems with my thermostat and it would not allow me to cut on the air. The staff allowed me to switch rooms due to availability.

There is no control over the parking spaces; we had to leave the vehicle under the bridge on the next street. Very poor “continental” breakfast — it consists only of carbohydrates: muffins, cereal, bread with jam or cream cheese, waffles (which you have to cook yourself), coffee, milk, and apple juice.

The room was clean and had what we needed, even though it was a small, no-frills space. The price was great! It suited our needs perfectly and we also really appreciated the free continental breakfast. The area has good food and shopping options nearby, especially at Industry City, and lots of green space nearby at Greenwood Cemetary and also Sunset Park (the actual park, not neighborhood) if you're willing to walk about 10-ish blocks.

The room we were given was on “C” floor right next to the breakfast room. It was very noisy and we could hear people coming and going all night. The bed’s mattress was pretty old and hard. Overall the staff were friendly and the location was close to our friend’s house but otherwise I felt the cost of the room was overpriced for what it was.

Price is the point. Not a ton of amenities but very affordable and was perfect for a place to stay the night. Breakfast wasn't terrible but wasn't much more than waffles, cereal, muffin. Rooms are tight but fine if you're not planning to live in them. Came into town for a concert and was perfect for us. Thanks!

The price I paid may have been reasonable, but it was nothing to sneeze at. I expected better. It felt like a cheap Airbnb. I read one review that was positive, so I thought it would be better without really looking into it more. I expected something more modern, and clean! I only booked it because it was in Brooklyn, and I had business in the area. It's not bad if you keep your expectations low, but not something I'd personally book again. It's like one of those places people book just to hookup.

The walls were a little thin (and my basement floor room came with a scenic view out the window of the rear parking lot), but otherwise it was a clean, comfortable, accommodating stay of acceptable quality and I am completely satisfied. Staff were nice, too; The receptionist helped clear up my booking error over the phone before my arrival.

Our room was a bit small but clean and the staff very courteous and helpful! The breakfast bar was nice and they allowed us stored our luggage after checkout so we could explore the City more before our flight. The hotel is located just a few blocks from the 36th St. subway stop, a great pizza spot and convenience stores. If you're looking for an affordable nice place to stay in NYC, L Hotel is a great choice!

Breakfast is very basic: one or two cereals, white toast, waffles, and watered-down juice that doesn’t taste like apple or cranberry. No protein, no eggs, no real options if you're expecting something substantial. The upside, the staff. They’re genuinely kind, responsive, and helpful. There are a few food spots within a 3 to 5 minute walk, a couple of them open late; maybe even 24 hours. you'd have to confirm. Just keep in mind this is a commercial area, so there’s nothing to do nearby. The subway is close, cheap and easy to access. If you just need an affordable place to sleep outside the city, don’t care about amenities, want a very simple continental breakfast, and value professional service over aesthetics, then I’d recommend it. Otherwise, you may want to look elsewhere.

Stains all over wallpaper in room. Random screws sticking out of furniture. Curtain stick was on the floor broken. Claimed to have a view of the statue of liberty so paid more for city view. Could not see it.

The neighborhood is my favorite part. We love the pizza from Gravesend, We LOVE LOVE the halal chicken from the Finest Deli. We love bagels from sunset bagels. Stay here. You won’t regret it.

Furniture is old, wallpaper is peeling and fixed with tape, breakfast is boring and all starch, guests can be super noisy as walls are thin. Not sure where staff was during the noise. Not enough parking spots.

The staff was great! The stay would have been fine if it was only one night, but 4 nights on that bed requires a chiropractor visit. No frills, very basic room, but the water pressure and heat was great. Good, safe neighborhood. We did breakfast the first day and it wasn’t worth the trip downstairs for the rest of our visit.

The photos of this hotel must have been old as this hotel is not in the condition I thought it was from the photos online. It’s not dirty but very unkempt, worn old floor mats and rugs, stained curtains, peeling wallpaper, etc. They put me in a basement room with windows that didn’t lock and could have easily been opened from the outside which is extremely dangerous.

Hotel was clean, awesome staff!

The room was small but nice for one person for a short stay. Could use some detailed cleaning but nothing that made me not want to spend the night or anything. Staff was great. Would stay again.

Staff was nice but the room was pretty lackluster and dated. The room felt much smaller than what was shown on the pictures. Breakfast was ok

The room wasn't really clean. There were small hairs on many surfaces and in the shower. There was a hair in the refrigerator. The freezer leaked all over anything in the refrigerator. Hand towels would be nice. Outlets on both sides of the bed would be helpful. There was stuff from former guests under the bed. More hangers, a kind of wardrobe space, and or drawers for unpacking.

Great hotel, clean, modern and good location.

A great value for the price, nothing fancy, but a good place to lay your head (speaking of, the pillows were phenomenal). Downside, the walls were a little scuffy, my heat didn't work and there's very minimal parking (6 spaces for the entire hotel to share)

The room was excellent

The room was in a bit of disrepair. Wallpaper peeling, lamp unstable and molding missing in bathroom. TV remote did not always work either.

We didn't receive our booked king size bed. They had already booked it. Instead all they had was a double. The "breakfast" if you could call it that, was not good

The lack of shower is inexcusable - it was clear that the staff knew it was an issue.

Nice hotel

Hotel room down in basement, quite tatty, but clean. On a positive note there were plenty of vending machines so we were able to get something to eat. Chose this hotel for position near to cruise terminal. Did not feel safe enough to go out at night to look for restaurant

Room clean and comfortable, free breakfast very limited (maybe add some fruit) but welcome and proximity to metro at 36th St a big plus for sightseeing and visiting museums

Clean the place up.

We checked into this hotel and left within 30 minutes after booking a room at a different hotel. We took photos of the condition of the room which was dirty, had bugs and wallpaper peeling off the wall. The furniture was so old and peeling. The bed frame felt like it was going to fall apart. We could hear the conversations being held in the room next door - it was so loud. The photos on the Expedia site do NOT represent the actual hotel rooms. As someone who travels several times a year, this was the worst hotel I’ve ever been inside.

The overall condition was very good. Very impressive overall 👏.

We stayed here because it was close to the cruise port. That was our mistake. Next time we’ll stay in a better hotel and pay more for transportation.

Excellent service and ease of transport!

Check in was easy. Room was small, but was clean and good for our overnight stay. Room has no closet, iron or ironing board. Parking onsite is available but its minimum. Definitely a first come first serve situation. Cant comment on the breakfast we didn't try it. Overall good experience. No real complaints.

We loved the location for the event we were attending at Industry City. Walkable area and the Citi bikes were a convenient way to get around. The room served its purpose and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Lots of reviews mention the lack of items included in the free breakfast but we never even made it down in time. So many other better local options in the area.

Great little place in an unlikely neighborhood. I was in Sunset Park to see a family member at the nearby hospital. Loved free parking, friendly desk guy, comfortable clean room and good bed. Would def stay again if in the area.

Great location in Brooklyn . Clean , front desk was great . Had breakfast . Bodega close by . The subway just a 5 min walk . Would recommend and stay once in NY.

Room was basic but very clean. But it was in a partial basement and across from the breakfast room, so a bit loud in the AM.

I have family that lives at 34th Street. The L Hotel is the most convenient to the family. Property is clean. Can a little loud in the hall ways but not late at night. Reasonable price and nice stay.

Clean room

Stayed in the area for a concert happening at Barclays Center. Very close to 36th st station, which was an express train stop. A no big fills hotels. Basic rooms which were fine for a quick trip to NYC. Decently sized bathroom. Plenty of little cafes and restaurants in walking distance from the hotel, along with the Industry City complex right there.

I enjoyed my stay. Friendly staff, clean room. Helped me with finding parking.

No frills, but clean and did the trick. Fairly close to the subway. I had 1 night in NY and this worked out great. some new paint, wallpaper and curtains would up the game substantially. Would recommend for a short stay.

Great hotel

The room walls are paper thin at this hotel. We could hear what the room next to us was watching, saying etc. Also the bathroom was not very clean, hair in the shower and stains on the ceiling.

Parking was a little hard since I had a Tahoe. But overall, it was good for the price.

I would stay there again but don't expect anything fancy and the location while good if need to be close by isn't really good for anything else unless you want to see Greenwood Cemetary

All gluten non healthy breakfast. No yogert or fruit. Only toast, bagel, waffle.

It definitely was a good experience as last time. I feel the detergent in the sheets might effected us a bit but over all it’s been a good stay

After an issue with A/C the first night, the staff was courteous and accomodating in getting things sorted out. I extended my stay for 2 more nights.

The hotel was very clean, had a good continental breakfast, and nice room. There are many restaurants, deli’s, corner stores. The hotel is 5 minutes from the Subway by walking. At first we thought the area looked a bit scary at night, however it was actually very safe.

The only plus is free parking but very limited.

This place looks nothing like the photos. I would never come here again. They have parking but it’s very limited. The place is very run down and out dated. I do not recommend

It was perfect for 1 night. The room air conditioning was great! The bathroom was super clean and the walk in shower was spacious. The bed was comfortable and the parking was very easy. You can see your car from the window in the room. Staff were very nice, clear, and straight to the point. The front desk has clear signs about parking, breakfast, etc. I enjoyed my stay!

Hotel close to downtown Brooklyn with clean rooms and free breakfast. Only issue was limited parking.

Wallpaper was coming off in some areas, and the TV was difficult to work. The bed and pillows were hard as a rock. The ice machine only had ice one out of the three times we tried. Is it the most luxurious hotel? No, but for the price you really can’t beat it.

The staff was very friendly very cooperative everything was smooth the place was clean and everything was in its place the one thing I didn't like was the ice machine it took a very long to make new ice and when it did make the new ice it was only a few pieces it's very inconvenient no one wants to spend a majority of their stay ice sitting otherwise than that everything was good I definitely would recommend and try this hotel again just would make sure I brought my cooler with my ice bag already in it.

Clean and efficient hotel. For NYC the room was spacious. It's also easy to get to the metro.

Did not start off good, check in time was 3pm and I called a day before asking if I could check in earlier and they said okay. Once I got there and tried checking in they said no and told me to comeback at 3..

Friendly staff and adequate breakfast

The neighborhood around the hotel was a little sketchy. Restaurants were close by and within walking distance, however, there was concern over our safety, when out and about.

If I had anything to complain about, it would be parking can be pretty tight. Although we never personally had an issue finding a spot, I can see how it would be difficult if it was busier or on a weekend. But 10/10. Would stay again

It was an overnight pre cruise stay. It needs a LOT of maintenance and upkeep, it the location was good, the host was nice, the ‘breakfast’ is… well… go to Big John’s around the corner instead. For the price, it served its purpose

Great room for the price

We were looking for a quiet, clean place to sleep after spending each day out on the town with family in Brooklyn. This place was great, even accommodating several requests from us (early check in, extra pillows). It's basic, not fancy, but we felt welcome, safe, and comfortable. Will use this hotel on our next trip.

The location was close to the subway. Good little pizza place right down the road. Staff was attentive.

This hotel did the job for a solo stay in Brooklyn. Easy access to subway, sunset park and Chinatown within walking distance. Cleanliness was mediocre, the floor next the door was very dusty. The room had a piece of wood with nail in it when I went in. Overall looked old. Probably would stay here again if only choice, otherwise look for something else at this price point.

Rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is basic. Parking is horrendous and limited. Staff were present but not friendly! In all it was doable!
