Bathrooms need updating..

Bed was comfortable and clean bedding owners were nice give you nice cold water when you get checked in A bit outdated and could be a bit cleaner tv had like something was squirted on the screen and bit hair on floor towel was dirty needs to be washed. Rug need shampooed

comfortable bed the shower wasn't good, it was small and the shower curtain kept sticking to you and you had to constantly push it back.not enough electrical outlets.

Motel manager tried very hard to be helpful. Not easy to understand his english however. The room was tiny! Tiny bathroom, no amenities. very spare, lousy TV.

Washroom are not clean below average not worth for the money.

I liked the staffs, they were friendly and easy to talk to. The area was quiet, clean and organized. The room was comfy. room and shower were a bit small.

The service was really very nice and helpful!

We had a medical appointment at a nearby clinic. We were done early, so we arrived at the hotel early. They accommodated us with a big smile. Offered us bottles of cold water and even chocolates. The motel is run by the owners and they are really welcoming and cooperative. Salute to their hospitality

Greeted by very nice friendly pleasant man at check in and offered us something to drink or snacks also took us to our room and showed us everything we needed to know and offered us anything we needed help with just let him know would definitely recommend to anyone and looking forward to coming back soon Easy to get in and out of play swings for kids if you have with you and can park at room

The room was tidy, the bed and bedsheets clean, spacious and comfortable. Wifi and air conditioning working. The facility has seen better days - especially the bathroom was quite worn but still tidy and functional.

Location was great for me, the owners were friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. The room was tired but that reflects on the price so that suited me well. It was great being able to park right outside the room which made access really good. Would have been nice to be able to make a hot drink in the room. One of the other guests next door was smoking a lot of cannabis some days it was really strong smell of it in my room. But that is no reflection on the owners or the motel.

The motel is located on Lundy’s Lane and the bus stop is right on front. It’s easier to hop on and hop off a bus rather than paying hefty parking fees on attractions. It’s advisable to buy a day pass of these buses that would save you a lot of weight arrived late night and still front desk welcomed with a smile. They are always ready to help. We were also given free water bottles.

I was offered 2 water bottles, staff was very kind towel was dirty, shower was clogged, room was hot (no fan/ac) and when I opened window, someone was smoking weed, wifi did not work at all

Exceptional

It is hard to explain but my feelings were better than what you would expect for the size of the room and the equipment. The room is quite cozy in its way. I arrived very late after midnight due to a problem on a way but the host was still very kind and waited for me. It is quite place outside city centre which is easily accessible by car or bus. No breakfast is provided unfortunately and I also did not fine any possibility to have breakfast in the neighbourhood. Shower is very simple and water was quite cold. The room is small and does not include lot of equipment.

Rate, parking, bed, fridge and microwave. Helpful staff. Little space for shower.

Clean, quiet, and very nice owner. The bed was to soft. The light outside was on all night and kept me awake.

Not much to like about the room, although the place was clean and quiet Clean sheets smelt fresh l put over my head so i don't breathe in the mouldy room About everything substandard. No hot shower even when not many people staying there. Smelly room, like mouldy bread, very small room, way way overpriced and definitely the score in my opinion is questionable

Horrible experience

Very nice owner and good service. Our room was decent, not perfectly clean or the most updated but for the price I was happy. We stayed during the winter time and there was full control over the heat but the bathroom was cold and the shower wasn’t consistent with temperature.

Staff very nice. Air conditioner a little noisy and rather dusty. Had all the amenities I was looking for (a comfortable bed and some clean water). I’m not happy about the price I paid (i.e not the greatest value) but other lodging in the area on this website was 3 or 4 times as expensive so maybe I should have booked weeks in advance.

The Carpet was fixed with ducked tapes. I have pictures to prove this. I paid 197.00 for a night only to learn the normal rate is 59.00 dollars. Complete disappointment. Will never use Expedia again.

We just needed a place to stop overnight, so this motel was Ok - bed sheets were clean and shower worked. I wouldn’t stay here though if I were visiting the area. It’s quite run down.

Very clean and quiet, rooms are very small yet have a large flat TV, newer AC, good Cable channel selection, fridge and microwave.

Overall, it was good for the price paid. Bathroom door had lock missing. Other guests were smoking while sitting out, and we hate the smoke smell. Other than these, it was good.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and look forward to returning in the near future

This place is horrible...do not trust the reviews! This is the worst hotel I ever stayed at

i had to wait like 20 mins for check in. no one was there,the number linked wirh expedia isnt even rhe number. i had to call a number that was on the door. the owner wasnt even on site.if you are running a hotel or motel you should be available. theroom was clean only down fall is that it had a bad smell of cigarettes.

Used the app to book and used the pay at the hotel feature, it was $95.00. They decided to cancel our reservation without a call or e mail to notify us. Our friends booked the same kind of room less than a day later and were charged $295! When we got to the hotel they said we had pay a walk in fee of $150.00. So our friends became upset because the walk in fee was significantly lower than what they paid. We did NOT end up staying there we went down the street to the Blue Moon Inn and OMG service was incredible! He was nice and understanding and even offered us his umbrella (it was raining) so we could go to the outdoor concert we had planned. Would NEVER recommend the Star inn, just awful. When asked to explain why they cancelled our reservation she just said that’s what we had to do in case you didn’t come.

Very pleased with the staff, clean room, had no problems checking in and the motel was quiet, couldn't hear the neighbors. Will stay there again 😀

I chose this motel based on reviews and they did not disappoint. I have only good things to say. The owners were very nice. The only thing was the last day of my stay, the wifi was off. I would choose this motel the next time I go there.

Its a good hotel for budget conscious people. Wifi is really really fast. Shower space is little tight. I didn’t find an outlet in bathroom for hair dryer so I had to use one in the room next to the bed. Staff is friendly.

The hotel had quick and friendly service. The room was clean and had good wifi. It was adequate for our needs with a good price.

On the flip side, lady at courtesy desk very nice and welcoming. Bed comfortable enough. Wifi the fastest I experienced during a week staying at different hotels. Motel should be at an $80.00 price point, not $150.00/night.

Owner offered cold bottles of water perfect for the hot day. Has a small convenience store in lobby it was perfect.Owner comes around and offers fresh coffee to guest. Has a stove for cooking and baking on the premises.

It may be cheap but what ca you expect for £29.00? It’s clean with ample hot water. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Basically, it’s s bit of a walk from the town, however for a few nights as I’m on a road trip around the NE of the USA and Niagara Falls I can’t complain. Tell you the truth i booked a second night and paid cash the next day. I might even say a third night. I promise you no bugs and no dramas just cheap clean accommodation.

It's a clean comfortable room that doesn't have a lot of wasted space. Wifi and TV both performed well. Could have used a bit more water pressure in the shower however.

We booked and paid for our room through Expedia. Upon check-in, the clerk tried to collect the room fee again. The clerk claimed they never received the money from Expedia. I immediately called Expedia's support line. The Expedia agent then contacted the hotel clerk. The clerk finally agreed to book us into the room and agreed 'Not to charge us for the room.' After this bit of nonsense the Hotel clerk tried to tell us the problem was because this was their first time dealing with Expedia. However, I was able to find reviews for this hotel on Expedia's site. Reviews which dated back as far as May 2015. I have no way of knowing if this was an honest mistake or a case of the hotel trying to scam us by collecting the room fee, twice. I do know that I have never experienced any problem with an Expedia-booked hotel/flight/rental, prior to this. And if I hadn't already paid Expedia, I would have left to find another hotel. Would not recommend and will never stay here again.

Early check in was granted which made things a lot easier. Will stay again.

Nice room and clean and fair price

Great value for the low price. Refrig was so quiet, we didn't know it was on. Shower was nice and strong. Generous towels. Quiet restful sleep on excellent mattress, crisp sheets, big pillows.

Very inexpensive but if all you're looking to do is arrive, sleep and leave and your wallets skinny, this is the place. TV was good lots of channels, wifi worked fine. No concerns about staying again.

Clean.. comforable. Small.. but that's ok. Fridge worked. Room heated easliy. Would stay again. But..... get secure key deposit. ... that mail box key thing...not a good idea !

Stayed here for very good rate, but as always you get what you pay for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small but comfortable. Wi-Fi didn't work inside the room at all, you had to sit outside to get a weak signal. Motel was very quiet the night I stayed there--no noise. Bathroom didn't have a toilet paper dispenser (roll sat on top of toilet) or any shelving or dish in the stand-up shower (which meant you had to hold soap and shampoo in your hand or set it on the floor). Location is miles from the Falls. However, I would consider staying here again for the high value (low rate) vs paying 2X-4X to be near the Falls.

Room was ok but the bathroom was not clean. The room was not worth for the price they quoted.

Nice family run motel. Very friendly. The property itself is a little old and run down, but overall it was fine. It had a pool, but it was closed. It hasn't been open for a while I think. Price was maybe a lttle high, but it is Niagara Falls on the Canada Day weekend.

Enjoyed our stay. For the price we paid it's a nice affordable option right near the falls. No bells and whistles. Comfortable bed. small but cozy room and washroom. Great place for a budget near the falls or place to lay your head if your passing threw. Very friendly staff and management. No problem for a late checkout. We would definitely stay again.

There was confusion about the hotel name. There is another hotel with almost the same name, we went to the wrong one when we first arrived. I almost doubted if the hotel was any good when I first stepped in I smelled strong alcohol at the reception desk. I thought someone must be drinking quite alot before we arrived. It did not give us good feeling about the hotel at first. The property needs some upgrades especially to the bathroom, lots of patching work done but it was kept clean though not visually pleasing. The bed was comfortable. The a/c power cable was pretty intimidating. Suitable for adults only not for family with small children. The toilet bowl is low. Overall the room was pretty clean and dry. I understand that the hotel management is looking into upgrading the rooms. That's good news. It was full when we were there this past family day Sat/Sun. It is very conveniently located just away from the Niagara Falls crowd. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It is for budget stayers only, no frills so do not expect much.

Wanted a cheap relaxing mini vaca and found this Inn met all my requirements.

My girlfriend was worried after reading some reviews but the place was fine. The owners were very nice and helpful. It was affordable and close enough to get to the falls quickly. Not in pristine condition but a place to sleep.

The staff at A-1 Star Inn was so friendly and helpful! The room was clean, cozy, quiet, and in a great location--close to the Niagara hub, but far enough away to avoid the crazy traffic. If you're traveling on a budget, definitely give this place a shot!

Many people gave this place bad reviews, but to be honest it wasn't really that bad. Clean and comfortable. For the price it was a great stay. Close to the bus stop which is an easy way to reach all major spots. Pool was closed that was the only negative.

The structure was run down and the room was very small. People were very nice and things were clean and comfortable enough. The pool was not in use (empty).

Staff was great and very helpful. The room was small for 5, but very clean and perfect for the price. Beds were comfy, WiFi worked great, the water was hot and the AC cold. I'm hoping they open the outdoor pool soon. It looked like they were refinishing it when we stayed. Would happily stay again.

The room was smaller than i expected bht it was ok. New management just took over. Older motel but ok for the money.
