Love that the pool and breakfast

We had a wonderful time, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Nice pool area with comfortable chairs under shaded areas. Very good breakfast, not just waffles and cereal but eyes, bacon, potatoes plus waffles and more. Had a happy hour every day from 5 till 7 with adult beverages regular drinks and appetizers. I would highly recommend this place. We will definitely go back.

Kendra was super friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the free breakfasts and HH were awesome, and there’s even a place to park our boat! Can’t beat it for the price!

The overall property was nice, and the room was good. There were a few hairs and bits of sand left in the bathroom, but other than that it was very clean. Our keys deactivated a day early, but the staff was helpful in getting that taken care of. This place felt very safe and is a good choice for your Port A vacation.

Probably best location on the Island. Close to shops, restaurants, and beach. Room was fairly clean but could use a little bit more love.

The outside of the property is not very aesthetic, but don’t let that fool you! The amenities are well taken care of and the rooms are very nice. The staff is so nice and helpful anytime we needed anything they were all so accommodating. Breakfast was very good not many options but they had the classic waffles, bacon , potatoes and cereal etc. The hotel is very central to everything although the island is not very big I found we didn’t have more than a 7 min drive to anything. I would definitely stay here again, you can’t beat the price, hospitality, free breakfast and pool that stays open late!

Room is clean, Bed is comfy, Quiet location, Average Breakfast and Staff were nice. However, room is very humidity and floor was wet all the time. Beside of that, we had a good time.

For the money this is a great place to stay, inexpensive, decent breakfast, nice cold air conditioning, clean rooms.

Easy check in with $100 hold on cc. Pool chairs were broken. Room was clean and sufficient. Bed was ok but creaked with every movement. The beach was about a 3 minute drive up the road. Lots of shopping nearby.

The beds were comfortable, room spacious. I've stayed here before and will stay again in the future. Grocery store and some restaurants and stores are within walking distance from the hotel. Standard hotel continental breakfast.

The first day we checked in the front desk lady had an attitude when I asked a question about the golf carts. She didn't tell us anything about the property what time pool closed, opened, anything just our room number where it was located. Other than that everyone else we encountered was very nice. We got a golf cart rental from the motel and it was having issues they gave us another one no issue, the day we went to check out the replacement golf cart didnt want to go in gear so the manager of the property came over helped us and we got it all straightened out. He helped us move it into a parking spot so it was out of the way. Checkout and Breakfast desk people were very nice and friendly. Despite the first lady we will stay again.

The floor, cabinets, mirrors, and wooden headboards were all dripping with condensation possibly because the maid left the AC at 61F. All bedding was damp. We left the door open for awhile hoping it would evaporate, it never did. The next morning I asked a guest in another room if his was the same, he said no. I asked reception and they said "that's Port Aransas" and offered no solution or even an apology. Ironically, the office/breakfast area was cold but had no condensation.

The breakfast was very good with a variety of warm options, as well as cold items. The king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice, clean, and large. The only problem is rust on the towel rack, but this close to the water, it's just going to be a constant battle. They were very accommodating to our travel plans.

My number one place to stay when I'm visiting Port A! Super convenient and love that you can rent golf carts from them with a discount! But the staff is truly amazing and I appreciate everyone from front dest, breakfast and housekeeping. Thank you for another great stay.

Clean room, working water. Hotel was good and check in went well. The only thing that didn’t live up to the hype was the pool. It wasn’t as clean as I would have liked but I still got in. Overall enjoyed our stay and we would go back.

The room cleanliness was outstanding. The rooms are sound proof even having small children next to us couldn't hear anything. Great breakfast. A little of everything. Fresh cooked eggs, sausage & potatoes. Coffee, various juices and you can make your own waffles. Parking area was well lit and felt very safe. Improvements needed: shower pressure low & coffee maker in room .

Pleasant check in process and room was clean. Expected the hotel to be fairly quiet for a Sunday night. Hotel did not enforce turning down loud music after 10pm and walls are thin enough to hear your neighbors tv all night. Price per night reflects pay what you get for a cheap rate. Don’t plan on returning

Was definitely expecting more of this place based on previous reviews making it seem very upscale. It was very average of beachside crash pad, but nothing luxurious at all. Only real positive was the proximity to live music and a couple food spots.

Our room keys didnt work on two occasions, replaced once No lights on at the pool when dark Crazy people living in the next room. I called twice and confirmed twice , before arrival, to request a 1st floor room. We had ebikes with us. Upon arrival , we were assigned a 2nd floor room( no elevator) . After double checking , they found thst request. Oceans Edge is not near the edge of the ocean.

We stayed in room 129. Our overall stay was not bad. However, there were things like the mattresses were not comfortable, the coffee at breakfast was not great and the wallpaper in the shower area is bubbling/peeling. And you do not get a discount on their golfcarts if you book your stay with them.

Some of the maintenance people looked a little sketchy, one got a beer at 8:30 one morning from the lobby cooler and went out front with a couple of others working there, made it look like homeless people hanging out. Sadly, this place has gone down in the last year.

I did leave after two nights instead of my planned three, but that was more about my own situation and not the hotel’s fault. The main issue for me was noise from the parking lot that continued past 11pm, along with fairly thin walls, so outside sounds carried more than I expected. Overall, I appreciated the friendly service and quality of the room, and with a box fan or earplugs, this would be a very comfortable place to stay.

We originally booked for 2 nights and decided to stay for a full week, the room was clean and in good repair, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and happy hour was a plus on weekdays.

My husband and I were able to spend a beautiful weekend together. It was like a second honeymoon!

Property is well kept and staff is very friendly, breakfast was better than most and varied day to day. There is even a happy hour.

The room was very clean, and the location was excellent. They have filtered water in the lobby and an ice machine. The staff is friendly. The down side is the outside lights shine in, the curtain does not block it out, so pack eye covers, other than I would stay again.

It wasn't the amenities or quality of the room that was impressive, it was the experience. The staff including housekeeping were very friendly but not intrusive. The room was clean; nothing fancy. Good for the price. The location and people are awesome. I met some really cool people and was within walking distance of everything I needed. Really cool bars, nice restaurant, and shopping area. It was a very chill vibe. Don't stay here if you want a fancy room to hang out in; stay here because you want to meet cool people and have a good time.

Oceans Edge was in a GREAT location, right next to the beach and gift shops and island restaurants. The rooms were very clean and the pool was great too! Overall a great place to stay during your beach trip!!

Our room was clean & had a good amount of space. I would prefer softer pillows than the flat ones they had, but it was fine. Our room could use a little handyman help with the towel rack & toilet paper holder being very loose on the wall. But it's still a good place to stay.

Property and staff were great! Good customer service and responsive! Only complaint I would have was there was no TV channels on the TV with room provided! The property staff blamed it on Internet service. I could pull up my own accounts (example: NetFlex) but no access to local channels, Fox, ESPN, TNN, or the like) provided by the hotel on their TV in the room.

The 2nd room had a live roach crawling across the floor. I didnt contact the desk the second time as it was 10p when we returned to the room after being out all day. The area was unusually busy and I knew there wasnt gonna be anything the manager was able to do. The desk clerk on the first night tried to find us another room at a different hotel, but due to it being busy was not able to. They stated that we could check out and get a refund but would basically be S.O.L. as there were no rooms. That part isnt against the hotel but they didnt even offer a partial refund due to the roaches being in the bed.

The property was very convenient to everything. Reasonably priced! The first 2 days were good. Our air conditioner quit working on the third day and they came to try to fix it, with no luck. They were going to move us to another room. We asked for a refund for one day and they said they don’t give refunds. If I was going to have to pack up, might as well leave. So we left a day early, with no refund. The girl that works there was nice but the man that worked on our AC was kind of rude. I guess if we didn’t have the AC issue and a rude encounter I would have gave it closer to a 4 star review.

This place is very misrepresented with the pictures. Mold in bathroom and furniture old and coming apart.

Great place to stay. Clean and located just off the main road which was very convenient. The staff was extremely helpful, nice and courteous. Only problem is we had a neighbor that could not control their pet. Barking all evening and early morning.

Motel has 2 large outdoor sitting areas that would be great for large groups. Is on the main road but not overly noisy.

This has been our 5th year being at Ocean Edge. The property was kept up and easy to use. Only issue was the dog next door. Barking most the night until someone went in to put a stop to it.

The hotel was easy to find and convenient to the rest of Port Aransas. It was clean and organized, however the pool could have used a filter cleaning at least and there was some dog bombs laying around that could have picked up. The breakfast was on point and varied each day of our stay.

Upgrade room amenities would be great. Phone sis not work. The toilet did not flush well.

In all honesty, I only have one complaint. The room that I was in looks absolutely nothing like what you see online. The room I was in looked like something 1982 Motel 6. Everything was very dated and old. I booked through a third party, and paid seven hundred dollars for the weekend, because it was a last minute booking so I could spend a weekend with my best friend suffering with cancer. It did the job. But nothing more. I really wished it would have looked like it does online. Total bait and switch. I'd leave pictures, but all I have is a video.

The front desk employee offered another room and we checked the room and it the beds were made and clean. Other than that hiccup in our stay the rooms were clean, breakfast was offered, and since it was during the week the hotel had a happy with 2 free drinks. Overall I would stay at this hotel.

The front desk staff was so friendly & informative, so I thank yall, the room was decently clean but a lot of flies dead & alive & basic things need replacing like the dirty shower curtain & tiny shower towels, but unfortunately it is still a cheap motel with sketchy characters as neighbor residents especially at night, we felt uncomfortable with our young son. Especially at the pool, just inappropriate for a family environment. We won’t be back but if you need a cheap place to stay yeah sure go for it!

Absurdly overpriced for what you get. Beds were comfortable enough. But the towel racks etc. looked like they had come out of the walls a few times and kept getting cemented back in. They didn't finish the paint job so you could see how run down it was.

Upon arrival I was charged with a $100 deposit after I had already paid in full for the room ! Then upon arrival I was charged another $60 for my dog . Which wasn’t said in the website ! It’s an updated Ex Red Roof Inn motel. It’s better than most budget friendly accommodations in the area. Being so close to the beach you have to expect weird smells, sticky doors, fixtures worn or broken and the occasional bug that runs across the floor when you’re on the can. For me I accepted it and had a nice comfortable stay. The staff were super nice, beds are very comfortable, Air Conditioning is amazing. Yes we all have some gripes about noise and slamming doors and loud tv’s and conversations that travels through walls but but but let me tell you, the complimentary hot breakfast and evening happy hour on the house, all of those complaints are non existent. I will be staying here again 100%

I was surprised how quiet it was, considering it was on a busy road. The room was large, and bed comfortable. The only advice I’d give is bring your own pillows as they were pretty hard. Hubby and I usually rotate between 2 other hotels when we visit Port A, this one will be added to the repertoire depending on who has the best price.

It was a good stay, the staff are really good. Little thing need work, like one ice machine worked one didn’t. Hotel had two guest washers and dryers . One of the dryers was broke down , both lent filters were missing.

The facility is overall "tired." Many marks on the walls in the rooms. The chairs were scuffed and chipped. The pool needed to be checked to run the net through it during the day to keep it clear of bird feathers, etc.

Great stay! Needed a last minute reservation and booked this place. Wasn’t sure what to expect but we were pleasantly pleased. Rooms are ok, but if you want to get sleep at nights , this is not the place for you. There is garbage scattered outside in the parking lot, which is literally outside of your room. There was a straggle to find a DO NOT DISTURB tag for our room.

The staff was very friendly, the location was perfect, breakfast was yummy, we were allowed to check-in early, & it was pet-friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.
