The hotel is really nice and the rooms are so clean. The location is amazing. Tri-Met was easy to take every where for public transportation. There are great bars, restaurants, and arcades close by. They have a nice happy hour with free beers & delicious coffee, tea, iced tea & water. Powell’s book store is close by. Cozy, comfy hotel with nice classy style. Loved it

The staff were extremely accommodating and made sure we had a great stay. We were not in town long but found the free beverages in the lobby to be helpful when we arrived and when we departed. I wish we had more time to use some of the more fun perks like the arcade or renting a Polaroid camera to capture our analog adventures around town. Next time!

It is a beautiful hotel and very well maintained. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. We checked in late, but the valet was still available. It cost $60 to valet park overnight, but there is also a public parking garage across the street. The neighborhood around the hotel seems clean enough and I never felt unsafe. I would definitely stay herr again.

Staff and room were excellent. Location can’t be beat. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms immaculate. The Daily Amenity charge ($29) is not included in the total price in the Hotels app. The amenities included are not in any way worth an up charge. Also, app said breakfast was included, but it wasn’t. However, lots of good places to have breakfast in the area.

So cute! I saw some reviews complaining about the size of the rooms, and yes, they are small, but we dont need a lot of room so it was perfect for us. The rooms were clean and cozy, the area is walkable with lots of restaurants and bars nearby, and a parking garage directly across the street. They even had a happy hour going on for a couple hours the evening we stayed.

My overnight stay at Hotel Lucia was okay...not horrible, not great. The room was small but fine for my one night stay. I was disappointed that I could hear conversations from the hallway and noise from the nearby rooms. I heard the neighbors door slam shut each time they entered and exited their room along with each toilet flush! The shower lacked water pressure. Perhaps I am more accustomed to modern features like soft closing doors and well insulated rooms of other hotels. I didn't realize that breakfast was offered until after I departed and was asked to rate it. On the plus side, the front facing staff were friendly, the room was clean with a comfortable bed.

Our check in process was great, staff was amazing and friendly, and we loved walking into the complimentary happy hour. Fun pinball amenity. Great location downtown. Clean and nice room, however the bathroom was microscopic. It was hard to use the sink, we know it's urban setting but the bathroom was the size of a small closet. The morning staff seemed irritable and made the process of filling up our water bottles complicated and she seems annoyed by us. It was fine for a quick night before flying out but I could not see staying mutiple nights with a family here.

Great location in Downtown Portland. Friendly staff, nice facilities and clean. Parking available in garage right across the street, as well as street parking just outside the hotel. Cozy lobby and happy hour daily with a free beer! Room was a bit “compact”, not a lot of floor space, and the bathroom was also a little small. But OK overall for a few nights.

Overall if you’re looking for a “place to stay” it’s useful. For the price point and it being a 4-star hotel it didn’t live up to the hype. Amenities aren’t worth the cost that are tacked onto the room. Arcades and a “happy hour” from 5-6 that only serves beer and wine doesn’t scream 4-star accommodations. Plus if you’re driving an EV you have to pay $60 per night for parking to use it. But can easily park across the street for half the price and use the charging stations there. Pay close attention to what’s being displayed in the descriptions. The rooms are another “catfish” for this hotel. They aren’t nearly as big as they seem online and ours had bad clogging in the tub the whole time. Overall it was disappointing for a birthday and anniversary surprise.

The lady who checked me in was unwelcoming to both me and my guests at the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. The amenities were not explained to us at all. Not one person in our party was even remotely impressed with this hotel. This place is just a fancy exterior for appearances in my opinion. Rooms and bathrooms were also la luster. They were clean, sure but they were tiny. The bathrooms look like a public restroom and the toilet is ridiculously loud. We spoke with the man who Checked us out. After my guest complained about the woman the day before, and he ensured we would not be charged for the waters in the room. We were definitely charged for the waters after we left. Very unimpressed.

Happy hour had complimentary rootbeer, and of course pinball. Most importantly, While checking out I had a mishap, and had to go to the hospital and the night crew went above and beyond to help me. Not to go into details, but I greatly greatly appreciate the care and concern of the staff. When something like this happens, it really demonstrates how excellent staff are I cannot express my gratitude enough. Looking forward to my next adventure at the Hotel Lucia, without the misadventure.

Terribly cramped room with even smaller beds. The bathroom was basically a closet except a closet can actually fit things unlike this scam of a room. Don’t even bother paying for the “breakfast”. Zero options. It tasted so stale that it was probably reused everyday. Getting something from a nearby cafe is much better option. The parking was super overpriced too. The only good thing about this place was the furnishing but even those were dusty. There’s a reason there’s basically no people here, so only stay here if you want to stay for a night with no sleep. Anything more will make your wallet cry like mine did. No amount of kind staff could make up for this tragedy.

The room was pretty small, they charge a resort fee & it’s definitely not a resort. The door man sat there, looked at us & said have a great day without ever moving - let alone opening the door when our hands were full. It’s an ok place in a declining area. It’s not bad. But just ok.

I forgot how great Hotel Lucia is! Centrally located, grand old building with inviting public spaces. The rooms are mefium sized but nicely furnished in a retro style reminiscent of the 1940s. Best of all is the friendly professional staff who go out of their way to ensure your visit is the best. Bonus - rooms are competitively priced as compared to comparable properties in the neighborhood.

Room was clean, staff were very friendly, lobby was very nice. But I was not impressed with the room. We were in a room that faced another building, no natural light. The room photos are certainly working overtime and maybe it's because there was no natural light. The bathroom looked like something from a hospital. The shower head might have been the worst I've experienced in a hotel - no spray, just a straight shot, and not high enough.

A few downsides: there’s no in-hotel restaurant. So, if you get in later like I did, you won’t have a place to grab dinner and drinks. Same goes for breakfast (though the 5a coffee service was appreciated and there’s LOADS of nearby restaurants to get breakfast — I recommend St. Honore Bakery if you like the glutinous!). I’d also like a bit higher end toiletries as well given the price of the room.

Our stay at Hotel Lucia was ideally located within walking distance of so much of what Portland has to offer - North, South, East or West! Even though we are locals, having a base so that we could explore on foot helped us discover some new things that we usually drive right past via car. We stayed in the top floor one bedroom Gallery Suite for two nights. It had all the amenities you could ask for (except for streaming enabled TVs, but we had our own devices), views on both the courtyard and city view sides, and it was incredibly spacious. Comfortable beds, very courteous staff, and some free play pinball machines onsite make this eclectic and charming boutique hotel a winner in our books. The valet staff get a special shout out from us - we came and went frequently, and they never failed to greet us cheerfully and hold doors open for us before we could do it ourselves - so appreciated as we had packages to manage. No onsite restaurants, but absolutely surrounded by options - you won't miss them. Door Dash is super fast if you just must stay in to sit by the fireplace and admire the view. Purple umbrellas in the lobby for those wet outings. If you are on the fence, just do it!

Truly my worst hotel experience. I've stayed here before and Hotel Max in Seattle (sister hotel) many times over the past 15 years. They've gone down in quality over the past 5 years. This time, the thermostat was broken (over 80 F / 26 C). And rather than offering to comp the room (no other rooms were available), they offered to give me the resort fee back. This was after they sent 3 maintenance people to the room. Finally, I had to insist to the front desk this wasn't acceptable but after spending 4 hours trying to deal with this, I was exhausted and had to book a new hotel. I came back the next day because I didn't get a refund and the guy that helped me told me that he'd need to contact the accountant. The people the next day didn't know how to operate the computer system either. I'm not even sure if I got my refund yet because I didn't book directly through them.

The room was just ok. The temperature was incredibly cold and the little floor heater, no matter how high it was turned up, couldn’t shake it. The carpet was not to be walked on barefoot and the bathroom had no fan. However, the bed was really nice and the comforter kept us warm — and the pillows were big and plump and cozy. Bathroom amenities were nice and our city view was good. And the blackout curtains were stylish and very effective. Overall, a great stay.

This place is false advertising. We used to live in Portland and I was excited to treat my husband to a night in the city for his birthday. Thought we’d have an exterior room but arrived to get this tiny dark interior room on the corner. Rooms are super small and on the older side. We tried to request a different room but was told everyone had checked in and the hotel was sold out. Yet people arrived at midnight and got an exterior room. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The air ventilation was super loud but this made it nice to drown out sounds. And I liked that the radio when we arrived was playing my favorite genre of music. But that’s all I really liked about this hotel.

But the room was quite a bit smaller than I expected, the amenities (that I was charged an extra $40 a night for when I checked in) were mostly not available to me because of timing, and the photos on the website of folks drinking cocktails in the lobby were misleading at best given that the hotel doesn’t make cocktails or have any place to grab a drink nearby really.

This hotel was comfortable, stylish, peaceful and clean. The room we stayed in was small, but that was ok for us. The neighborhood is downtown in a major city, so walking to and from other places was sometimes a little bit stressful due to the behavior of some of the local unhoused people: erratic behavior, urinating in public, etc. This was in no way the hotel, but something to be aware of. Parking was $28 for 24 hours with no in/out privileges.

Terrible way to run a hotel.... I RESERVED a junior sweet over a month in advance. When I arrive for check in the receptionist informed me they didn't have a junior sweet available... I did not have an option to upgrade my room and she said I have a tiny room for you with a queen sized bed but $ would be taken off the bill and if I didn't want it she would "be more than happy to cancel your stay" as far as I'm concerned that is unacceptable a reservation is a reservation for a reason you can't just give someone's room away I drove 10 hours just to be disappointed by a mediocre room at best ... And the bathroom was very poor no fan... Clogged sink ...tiny toilet... Not restocked. Im disappointed in this place I would never stay here again and I hope you figure out what a reservation is that way others don't pay good money to be let down I know I was.

Hotel Lucia had a great design and vibe. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The arcade down stairs was a nice touch but very small with only 3 games. The room overall was nice. The pillows were fluffy and stayed that way! They had the bed made in a very weird way. They had a flat sheet on the mattress instead of a fitted sheet. And there was not a top sheet to use. The bathroom wasn't very updated compared to the luxury vibe of the room. The views out the room we stayed in were non existent. You basically had a view of other buildings windows. There were a handful of homeless folks outside the hotel. This hotel is very close to the food truck eatery.

Downtown can have some very unpleasant but unavoidable smells (especially in summertime) so I really appreciated the nice fragrance they have going throughout the lobby and halls. This is a lovely old hotel, but the aging HVAC system in our room was so loud that it kept us awake. Too bad, because otherwise I would give it an excellent rating.

Love the property, I've stayed there a couple times before. My only problem with this visit, was checking out I told the front desk lady that I drank one of the in room $7,00 bottles of water and to deduct it from my $20.00 VIP credit. She said ok I'll apply the remaining credit to your bill, which she didn't. As I was walking out I tried to grab a coffee from the lobby, there were no coffee cups. I went back up to the front desk, to let her know they were out of cups, and asked can you get one, She went to the back, thinking that she is get more cups for the coffee bar when she comes back to the front desk she talked to two coworkers then went back behind the front desk, and didn't even acknowledge or tell me that she couldn't find or have more cups. She just left me hanging there, frustrated, I just walked out.

Hotel is a bit shabby and not as nice as the pictures. Staff was nice but seemed inexperienced. Rooms look like they have been minimally and cheaply upgraded from 2 star skid row kind of hotel, and it maintains that vibe. The restaurant was closed for repairs while I stayed there. I wanted a bar and restaurant, which is why i booked and paid for a “4 star” hotel, which this was most definitely not. Homeless people all over downtown, but that’s not the hotels fault. Free pinball lounge was a plus but did not compensate for the above.

This place is a vibe! They had low key jazz on the radio when we came in, a Nespresso machine ready to go, pinball machines to play, the gym has a good range of equipment. It was a great stay!

The hotel itself is charming with a fun lobby and amenities. However the rooms smell slightly of stale smoke and the walls are paper thin. We heard every word our neighbors said which made for a not-so-great night's sleep. The bathrooms are tiny.

Hotel Lucia was very disappointing. It started with a mixup at check-in, the hotel claimed to not have my reservation despite having sent a confirmation email an hour or so before check-in. After getting that resolved, I was disappointed to find that the rooms were not as well kept as the photos online depict. There was also a guest smoking on our floor.

I wouldn’t stay here again. Their coffee service in the morning was empty by 9a when I walked down. Water was no longer available in the lobby. No one to help replenish either. The hotel was “ok”, but the bathroom was micro sized. You can see in pics the bathroom door hits the bed and the desk. It can’t be left open and move about the room. It also had a laughably small micro sink, which meant simply shaving poured water everywhere. There are plenty of great downtown Portland hotels. Pick another one.

A beautiful sparkling gem of a hotel, with some flaws. Parking is just across the street in the public lot which is very secure with a locking mechanical gate accessible only by scanning a parking receipt. I am pretty sure this is where the hotel does their valet service which is $55 a day but just parking there yourself and walking literally across the street was half the price. Our room was very pretty but the beds weren’t especially comfortable and the bathroom is very small. The shower curtain was attached or broken in a way that caused the shower to leak onto the toilet and the floor, and housekeeping had not refilled our body wash upon our late night arrival, so it looked completely empty. Luckily there was enough left in the bottle pump for us to get by. Dog and kid friendly, free coffee bar, free pinball arcade, had we had more time there we would have really loved just hanging out. We toured Lewis and Clark college and that was supposed to get us a discount at the hotel but the night concierge didn’t know anything about it and the morning concierge wasn’t all that friendly so I didn’t feel comfortable asking. Despite all the little flaws we overall enjoyed it and would stay again.

I absolutely loved this place. It’s over a hundred years old but doesn’t feel old. It was in a great location that allowed me to walk pretty much anywhere I wanted. The art in the lobby and framed photos through the hotel were a really nice touch. I loved the amenities here, especially the free pinball machines and nightly craft beer hour! All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. This was my first time visiting Portland and I can’t wait to get back and will definitely stay at Hotel Lucia again.

Basically a fine place. I share a few details about my stay. I had a small room with a small refrigerator and safe. It would be a challenge to share. Water for $7.00 a bottle in the room and no housekeeping. You can ask for clean towels at the desk. Be sure to read the detailed information. There was a daily fee (activity?) of $29.00 per day for a few hours of coffee in the morning, beer for a few hours in the evening and some games/puzzles on the main floor. My room looked out at another building where I could see open work space with PCs and desks. If I were there on a weekday, I would have had to keep my curtains closed during the day. I was told that if I wanted a room in the front of the hotel I should specify so.

Check in reception - person was not very helpful. Very late room availability compared to other hotels 4 pm instead of 3 pm. The hotel did have nice vibe, unique art/photos. Overall based on cost of the room, staff at desk seemed not to really care. The surrounding area is unfortunately not in the best neighborhood. (Homeless, sketchy people. I know not the hotel's fault more Portland in general. The Valet was super helpful and talkative.

Great quick stay at the Hotel Lucia. My son loved the free pinball machines and I loved the coffee and location. I wish the valet took just a tiny bit less time - it seemed parking was quite far so there was sometimes a wait, but it worked out.

Great location, great service, complimentary happy hours beer, walkable to many nearby shops and restaurants. My room didn’t seem to be vacuumed well before I checked in as there were white debris on the carpet. That made me worry about the cleanliness of my bed as the bed sheet was wrinkled. Other than this, everything else was great!

A lovely little boutique hotel with clean rooms. The gym was convenient and the lobby and afternoon happy hour were great. Pros - pretty lobby, friendly and helpful staff, in-room Nespresso machines, comfortable beds, exercise room with nice machines including Peloton bikes, pinball machines Cons - rooms are appointed okay but not great, craft beer happy hour is misleading in my opinion (one amber ale, one alcoholic seltzer, one N/A option), coffee is weak, and in-room TV was cable-only

One thing that made me sad was the pizza shop connected to the lobby is gone (we loved the food and convenience on our last trip) and a new food vendor is currently under construction (June 2025). I also forgot how much I didn't like the bathrooms in the hotel room itself. They work perfectly fine and the shower has solid water pressure but it just doesn't have a very practical set up. There's just one hook on the back of the door and it has the hotel's hair dryer hanging from it. There's nowhere to put your things down. The toilet paper was behind us when using the toilet despite there being an empty wall in front of it. Inside the shower were 2 bottles of shower gel and one bottle of hair conditioner....odd! Next to the sink was a lotion pump which was initially mistaken by both of us as soap. Meanwhile the soap was a tiny bar. I just think the bathroom set up could use a re-think and teh round, glass and metal sink is not a fan favorite. I'd stay here again and I'd recommend them in general, but just know it's an overall 4 and not a 5.
