Reviews
Guests generally love the unique experience of staying in these tiny homes, appreciating the attention to detail, cleanliness, and comfortable beds. The location is highly praised for its safety, walkability, and proximity to restaurants and bars. However, some guests find the houses too small, and a few have issues with parking, WiFi, and the lack of certain amenities like microwaves and TVs.
- Unique and fun experience
- Great location with walkable restaurants and bars
- Houses can be too small for some

Very clean and cutely themed. Beds were comfy and area relatively quiet. Slept great.

Loved the secure area around Tiny Digs, as well as the chairs, hammocks, games, and fire pits to enjoy outside. The size of the accommodation was spot on and it was super clean. The location was very walkable, too. We had a great Italian dinner, coffee, and ice cream. The window unit air conditioner was about 3 feet away from my head while sleeping and it was noisy when it turned on.

There is so much within walking distance. It was very quiet, safe and convenient. There isn’t a actual door on the toilet in our house we stayed in but that’s a small thing in comparison to how cool the little house was

The Merlot is right on Glisan and was super noisy. Apologies for the crassness, but I can pee warmer than the shower. I was shaking with cold for quite a while afterward, and it wasn't from running out of hot water. It just never got hot.

Cute. Cute. Cute. Nice location. The mattress was incredible! The Merlot is right on Glisan and was super noisy. Apologies for the crassness, but I can pee warmer than the shower. I was shaking with cold for quite a while afterward, and it wasn't from running out of hot water. It just never got hot.

Free street parking was super easy. We chose the location for its proximity to a local wine shop because we were in town for an event there. The neighborhood is cute and walkable with plenty of restaurant options. We were in the Merlot House, which has a spacious deck that we enjoyed in the evening. Whoever decorated our Tiny Digs obviously put a lot of thought and care into every detail.

Original, each tiny home is different. The location was great. Easy walk through a pretty old neighborhood to great food. The customer service was great - allowed early check in and was always available. Only thing would be the parking. Street parking only but we found a space each time.

I loved the coziness of the tiny home! It felt very clean and tidy. The amenities in the tiny home were really cool. The Location of this hotel is amazing - right in the Kern district which has amazing food and drink options. The home I stayed in was right on a fairly busy street so it was loud at night. Sound of cars from the street and physical rumbles of trucks woke me up at night numerous times. I would highly recommend that the tiny digs invest in some white noise machines to help manage the racket.

This was our second time staying here and I recommend it to everyone!

Nice place. Great location. The size of the units were a bit of a challenge, but then again I knew they were Tiny. I’d stay here again, just not for very long
- 5/5
Great neighborhood for walking and dining.
- 5/5
Clean and well kept property. Would definitely stay here again!

Parking is a priority that was not met. Street parking was almost impossible. But the location was great for walking to several restaurants. Being less than 30 minutes to the airport was a nice perk too.
- 5/5
We stayed in the "Modern" tiny house. It was cute. The bed was very comfy. The property is fun.The neighborhood is lovely. I wish the water pressure in the shower was stronger, but that is my only complaint. Everything else was great.

Adorable Tiny Digs! We thought we’d give it a try. Cute tiny trailers built and decorated into tiny themed rooms. Just a different “little” experience for a one night stay near the Hawthorne neighborhood in Portland. Lots of cute little PROs and not too many CONs. PROs; Our tiny digs (Merlot) was clean, cute, very comfortable. You’re in a locked, fully fenced, secure lot in case you’re worried about that. Tons of great restaurants around in walking distance. We ran into the grounds/house keeper Summer, she was very pleasant. Nice shared area for guests to sit by fire pits, eat, relax, socialize while the hustle and bustle of city on other side of fence goes by. Checkin and self entry with codes was very easy. CONs; It doesn’t have onsite parking so you will need to drive narrow neighborhood streets looking for a spot. You are on a main road that’s well traveled, so depending on which tiny house you pick, expect road noise. We got tons of vibration and car noise, especially in the early morning but we’re not light sleepers, so not a huge issue. If you’re claustrophobic, some room’s sleeping arrangements might not be for you. Overall no complaints with our accommodations. The fun, tiny, well appointed rooms are all different. We utilized all outside area for guests and enjoyed our one night stay.

This place is a gem. I will stay here from now on!
- 5/5
This place is very unqie and very cute wish there’s a tv in the room but all in all - it’s all good.
- 5/5
Pretty cool experience. Friendly
- 5/5
A most unique experience, and also one of the best! Staff were friendly and accommodating allowing me to leave my luggage for an entire day while I was taking the Oregon Bar Exam. I couldn’t have found a better place to stay and chill during a very stressful few days!
- 5/5
This was so fun an unique. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. The staff were so sweet and cabin was nice to stay in. Had an issue with the door code that was quickly resolved. Thank you for such a wonderful experience 💖
- 5/5
You do have to park your car on the street.
- 5/5
The community is right around the corner from NE 28th Ave, which has A TON of really awesome restaurants. The unit had a little tiny binder with all the details of the surrounding areas. Location was also great! Downtown Portland is definitely sketchy but the area where Tiny Digs is located is awesome - safe to walk around at night and people are respectful of the night hours. As noted in the hotel details, plenty of overnight parking, although one morning we woke to a sealed bag of dog poo on our car, maybe we upset someone by parking in their area, who knows? Overall, I'd definitely stay again at Tiny Digs and have been recommending everyone else to do so as well! Thanks for setting up a great home away from home!
- 5/5
Was a fabulious location for seeing Portland. Highly recomend and will stay there again. Was a great adventure for two 74 year old folks. We will pick a different unit on our next trip for the experience. Was really cool.
- 5/5
Loved this experience! What a great place to stay. So very unique. Great location! The property setup with the courtyard in the middle and a secured gate surrounding it was awesome. Parking was a breeze on the street right outside the hotel gate. Convenience store right next door was wonderful. The owners obviously put so much thought and love into this little "community" of tiny homes. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness that was put into this property is very apparent. The Beach Tiny decor was impeccable, and the layout was so fascinating. We only stayed one night but would love to go back. The location was great with so many dining options close by. Highly recommend this once in a lifetiime experience.
- 5/5
I love this place!!! We've been there several times. We want to stay in each tiny house. Molly, the manager is wonderful. She referred us to a dinner place that was great, and walking distance. We live the location. Parking is easy. Close to a plaid pantry, easy snacks too.
- 5/5
I was skeptical but the cabins are very nice and comfortable. And Tiny! But it's in the name. I loved the self service aspect, we actually didn't interact with anyone on the ground. Good location in a neighborhood in Portland.
- 5/5
The Finlandia home was such a cute, cozy little place! Beds were very comfortable, the unit was super clean. A minor glitch with the door lock was easily fixed with without delay by management. There are lots of restaurants and coffee places within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
The tiny house we stayed at was the log cabin tiny house and it was clean, comfy & cozy. I loved the area. The walking distance from the restaurants & bars was the "cherry on top". It felt safe & I loved the details in the tiny house that made it such a special stay. We will be visting again.
- 5/5
We loved it! Unique and fun!
- 1/5
Horrible. Yucky. The pictures are a LIE. Dangerous area and very unkempt room. For the price I paid I was astounded at the motel 6 vibe.
- 5/5
I have brought my twins for a 3 night stay for each of the last 3 years. At the end of very visit, they pick out the house where they want to stay the next year, and we talk about it all year. This is mostly a destination for childless couples, but everyone is always very sweet to the kids, and they enjoy the outdoor amenities. We use Tiny Digs as our hub for lots of Portland-area activities, and it’s a great location for getting to things all over the city. We have stayed in the Boho Wagon, Log Cabin and (this year) the Cottage. We’ve enjoyed every tiny house more than the house the year before.
- 5/5
Adorable, great location, very comfortable, friendly staff, excellent amenities, would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Great and easy stay!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We were in the Bamboo house and though small its very strategically laid out to maximize its tiny footprint.
- 3/5
It was difficult to call staff. The phone number message was confusing. The onsite signage was totally lacking. (Expedia has my wrong email and so I didn't get the sign-in email, arrived at entrance gate with no instructions) The asphalt yard felt bare. Get some landscaping! The aircon machine was poorly installed and rattled like crazy when the compressor ran. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
Had a charming stay in the Merlot house, which has a lovely private (behind lattice and grape vines) front porch and sunny side deck. There is no TV' in this tiny house (although internet was good), so bring a book or a deck of cards for "analog" entertainment. Do bring food and beverages of your choice as only coffee and some tea bags are provided during your stay.
- 2/5
The poor rating is based mainly on having zero WiFi in Arthur. I reported the issue as soon as I arrived. The staff was good about getting back to me quickly but could not resolve the issue. I told them that I really needed WiFi because my phone service there was very limited. I notified them that if it wasn’t working the following morning I would need to move elsewhere and I requested a refund for the second night. The staff person confirmed with me that I was vacating and said I would hear back from them in 2 days. After 4 days with no response, I contacted them again, requesting the refund for the day I was not there. The following day I was notified they would not refund any money. I’m not one to take the time to write negative reviews, but I own a short-term rental and know I would have handled it differently.
- 5/5
Love this little tiny home stay. All the options were super cute and we will definitely stay again. The outdoor shared space was awesome and we enjoyed sitting around the gas fire at night. Very walkable to cute restaurants and the neighborhood was pretty quiet. We could even hear crickets!!! The only feedback I would give is be careful when you open the door and walk in. I missed the step and almost fell because I was so excited to see the space. We stayed in the Beach House. The other thing I would mention about the Beach House is that the larger bed is up a ladder so if you have to get up during the night, probably not the best home to rent. Other than those two things, it was awesome and such a unique experience. The staff was very responsive and I was able to easily get back my pillow I accidentally left. Highly recommend!!!
- 5/5
Tiny digs was a eautiful collection of trailer tiny homes each with a different theme that made we sant to stay in all of them. They all seemed beautifully decorated and kept to their respective theme. I stayed at the Modern home, as I booked the place quite late, only a few hours before we got to portland. which was very pretty, but I would say probably
- 5/5
If you want a completely unique, relaxing stay in the heart of one of the coolest neighborhoods in Portland, you NEED to stay here! The tiny houses are adorable and full of everything you need, and you can walk to so many cool stores and delicious restaurants!
- 4/5
Tiny Digs is a unique and quirky place to stay. This was my second time being there. This review is less than stellar because the house i stayed in (beach) had a poorly planned entrance with a step down after opening the door, and a small cotton mat on the floor below. I stepped in, immediately fell due to the unexpected step down, my foot landed on the mat which slipped out from under me landing me on my butt; my backpack saved my neck/head from injury. Texted immediately and was told "so sorry" which did not seem an adequate response to a guest injury caused by the hotel's lack of safely planning.
- 4/5
Reminded me of a Hobbit shire.
- 5/5
Very cute. Very clean. Super fun.
- 5/5
So much fun! Usually coming back to your hotel room after a day full of activities is a drag, but coming home to a tiny house felt more like coming home.
- 5/5
Great location with a lot of restaurants. House was very clean. Cool concept!
- 4/5
Fun and lovely home/room. We did have to watch ourselves getting into the loft bed, but there was fun in the challenge. Loved the creativity of the property and the general neighborhood feel. A winner for us!
- 5/5
A great little find! Cozy and cute. Easy to find, park and get in and out. I stayed in the Beach house and the bed was so comfortable. Sleeping in a loft isn’t for everyone as it’s a bit awkward to get up and down the (sturdy) ladder. But as long as you know that’s the set up, it’s great! I’ll stay again for sure, and explore a different Tiny Home!
- 5/5
Cute concept!
- 5/5
Tiny Digs was a wonderful place to stay! It was perfect for the night I was staying in Portland for work travel. The house was very clean and lovely, and the area felt very safe. I had a great time!
- 5/5
A real unique place. Really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Comfortable beds and bedding. Good basic amenities. Remember they are small, and cozy. Great for couples. Lots of good restaurantes and things to do walking distance from the Tiny houses. Nice common area, for all guests to enjoy. We will be coming back, we want to stay in all of them.
- 5/5
It’s cozy and has everything
- 5/5
All the arrival instructions were clear with outer gate code and door code to the unit. Street parking was plentiful since the homes don't have their own parking. The only thing I would warn about is if one had physical limitations, as the bed was very high and would be hard to get into if that were the case, however this wasn't an issue for me. A great place for something different and I highly recommend it!
- 5/5
* first experience at tiny home was dope!!
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay at Tiny Digs. It was an interesting experience.
- 5/5
This property was eclectic and we'll kept. I enjoyed the silence. The room was very much decorated as was seen in the photos. There was heater on when I arrived in the room and it thawed me out. I love how there was a small binder for help with the property, faqs, and also suggestions on activities nearby. There was also a tiny book on Portland which was rather pleasant and gave me a summary. The experience was rich and I felt incredibly safe on my solo trip. I would highly recommend this stunning place to anyone I love because I know they will feel pampered here.
- 5/5
The place was located in a safe and clean neighborhood, close to restaurants and other amenities such as stores, parks, and the like. It was also easily reachable from the airport and various freeways. Moreover, there was a sense of community for the tiny houses with games outside, a hammock, firepits, etc. The owners were also very proactive in following up and in my case in providing extra blankets when I requested them. As for the drawbacks, the unit was not properly designed and thus uncomfortable. The floor is not well insulated and makes the place very cold (better bring thick slippers!). The sink and counters are insanely high (close to 4 feet) which makes washing the face or teeth challenging, and cooking on the provided hot plate nearly impossible unless you are over 6 feet tall. And then, if you are that tall, the tiny house would feel very claustrophobic and you will hit the head on the upper floor whenever you wake up. They should reconsider the design, or at the very least include a microwave at a reasonable height, and real plates that are more than 2 inches square for people to eat inside.
- 5/5
A must do
- 5/5
So cozy and warm! Will stay again
- 4/5
Wonderful and fun property. Unfortunately the tiny houses are cozy, but for elderly sisters or even an elderly couple, the Merlot house requires that one person crawl down to the end of the bed if they need to use the bathroom. Needs another shelf or two and maybe that the heat were adjustable. But I loved the property and the bed was so comfortable that as a solo traveler I would definitely do this again. Thank you
- 5/5
Definitely a different experience. The owners were on site doing some construction, and they were great to talk to.
- 4/5
My only complaint is that the street parking in Portland is very tight, and while it was available I was nervous when we had a car filled with business materials. There was no issues, and the interior of the tiny home was relaxing after long work days. Nice soft sheets and a larger bathroom area than I was expecting.
- 5/5
Property is very nice, loved the outdoor area. Detail inside the tiny house was spot on, down to the plates in the kitchenette.
- 5/5
Fun and comfortable option. Short walk to corner store, restaurants, grocery. Easy to park and check in. Common area is really nice for take out or to relax. We loved it (Modern Tiny House was very cool). Would definitely go back - try another tiny house
- 4/5
Mostly great! Manager was curt upon our arrival after we had had a super long day. I think we startled her bc we thought we’d remember the gate code while unloading & struggled to get back in. However, after we proved we were supposed to be there a smile or welcome or something would have been better than scowling & walking off. The Modern digs were cute & clean & the bed was comfy. No door on the bathroom so decide how intimate you wanna be with your partner. :-)
- 5/5
I absolutely loved staying here! Such a unique stay and experience. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
What a wonderful place to stay in the middle of so many restaurants, bars and movie theaters!
- 5/5
Cute houses!! Well thought out and very clean accommodations in the cutest tiny house ever! Love the theme and the use of space is a great puzzle. The common areas have games and a fire pit and looks so fun. Only complaint is the offsite parking which we have found every time but is nerve-racking to think we might lose our spot.
- 5/5
Such a cool hotel experience!
- 5/5
This is a quintessentially cool Portland place to stay! Ideally, suited for one person or couple but really great location and fun vibe.
- 4/5
It was great - I would come back!
- 4/5
None the less the caretakers are excellent and owners are welcoming and friendly.
- 5/5
We didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time in our tiny house but It
- 5/5
I like that it has it's own little neighborhood of tiny houses and I would definitely invite some friends to have a hangout there. There's also a bunch of places to eat walking distant. On the first day we walked and got Voodoo donuts! Also if you just want to take a stroll and grab a coffee or a night a drink. Would for sure come back here again!
- 5/5
Was a wonderful place and amazing experience my cabin was lovely and Cousy
- 3/5
I thought “the cabin” was cute. The “couch”was very uncomfortable though because it was just a foam mattress folded to pad the back against the wall. The dining room chairs were squeaky and the table was wobbly. The pictures on the wall by the bed fell during the night because they kept getting bumped. The real problems came when the sugar ants came out all over the kitchen counter on the second day because we had an open box of cereal on the counter. I called the phone number and got a response of “just use soapy water to clean up and it’s like camping in the spring. I can refund you what groceries you lost.” I will not be returning. You would think if I’m going to pay $211 per night it would be more “hotel” than “camping” it is after all tiny digs hotel. I haven’t seen any refund following my email or phone call.
- 4/5
It was very convenient as our son lives in the same neighborhood. Gleisan was a great street to be on. Their were many places to eat and shops to look in. The tiny digs was fun. The design was great to pick a style to stay in. We chose the cabin. It was fun with many campy things in it. It will be fun to choose another one for the next time.
- 4/5
We really enjoyed getting to experience staying in an adorable tiny house! I would definitely come back and check out one of the other houses. It was clean and comfortable and contactless check in and out was easy. A few things to note are that you'll need to request extra linens if you'd like to use the extra bed in the sitting area and that's not clear when using an external app. I would also recommend an eye mask or something if you stay in the cottage as the lights outside are bright and stay on through the night. Overall though, we were happy with the experience!
- 5/5
lovely property! highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Portland area with walking distance to just about everything
- 5/5
There was nobody onsite once the cleaning person was gone, but she was extremely helpful before she left. Out unit had details carefully thought out to make it as cozy and inviting as it could be - loved it.
- 3/5
If they could improve on the furniture it could be a great and eclectic place, but I would not recommend it for anyone who isn’t a college kid who can crash on some random dude’s futon and be able to sleep.
- 5/5
It’s all so cute and every house is different from one another
- 5/5
What a cute little village of tiny houses! There is no contract entry and individual ventilation systems. Perfect!
- 5/5
Late at night when I realized the induction warmer wasn't working and I might not be able to brew a cup of tea, I texted their number just in case someone was up. I got a response in less than 2 minutes and had a replacement burner in my room in less than 10. All the amenities you need are there. The queen bed in the loft was VERY comfortable.
- 5/5
A small little piece of heaven. A great option for getting the vibe of the city. Fire pit to sit around and enjoy. The cute tiny homes all with different themes. Clean, comfortable and very charming. It's own little "world" tucked in a corner of the city. Great restaurants close by for take out. Easy to keep "social distance" Owners were amazing and friendly! A MUST to visit again!
- 5/5
Looking for a staycation for my boyfriends 40th and this was a great little adventure. We stayed in the Arthur, and it was very cozy (in a good way!) We walked to Pambiche for a wonderful dinner and to Seven Virtues for great coffee and bagel sandwiches. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Thank you for a tiny lovely stay!

Unable to unlock door. Had to crawl under house to find a key. Heat didn’t work. Had to use space heater. When talking to lady about this she was rude. Liked the court yard

Cute tiny houses in the middle of Portland! Who would have thought. Fun
- 5/5
Great little place! The tiny houses are so beautifully designed. So much talent went into every detail. Very cozy. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone with a back or joint problem. My boyfriend is 6’4” so it was a little difficult for him to navigate around. But the experience was one I wouldn’t miss. Am recommending it to all my friends.

With covid still active we were skeptical about cleanliness but this place was really looking clean, neat and tidy and disinfected well. Overall my family had great experience and we will definitely return to stay at another tiny house.
- 5/5
Each tiny dig was designed very well. The fire pit and hammocks fabulous! Easy walk to more then enough variety of eating places and fun little shops. Staff was very helpful. Cannot wait to go back very soon!!
- 4/5
Great spot during COVID. Individual entrances, outdoor spaces, walkable for takeout meals and coffee. Home is REALLY small and my wife and I would probably have enjoyed this more in our younger years when climbing up a flight of stairs and crawling into a bed was easier.
- 5/5
I've stayed at Tine Digs several times, always trying out a new tiny home. Always a fun stay. Close to stores and restaurants and easy street parking.
- 3/5
Owner came to our door and was not wearing a mask
- 5/5
Very cute set of tiny homes. Folks that run it on site and very friendly. Would love to stay here again when I come back to Portland.
- 3/5
It’s a nice idea but the execution is a little underwhelming. The room was really tiny. I’ve been in many tiny homes and this was definitely the smallest. There were two of us and only one could sit comfortably. The other day on the stairs up to the lofted bed, which is in a space you can barely sit up in. The room was very hot, the air conditioner was very loud, and it didn’t really cool the upper area. The room was very clean and other than the air conditioner it was very quiet. Overall I would not stay here again. It had a good heart but the value did not meet the cost.
- 5/5

What a cute & clever concept. I stayed in the cottage which was lovely. Completely touch less check-in & out. Lovely secure courtyard w/ fire pit, hammocks, corn hole, & Jenga. I sat out on my porch every morning with my tea. very quiet neighborhood, w/ lots of walkable options. Would definitely recommend
- 4/5
Awesome, clean, and in one of the best neighborhoods in Portland. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended staying there!
- 5/5
Amazing place - exceptional operators - remarkable!
- 5/5
I loved my stay in the Cottage. The hotel is located in a great area with easy access to great food. The space was clean and provided all that I required.
- 5/5
10/10 will stay again when I return to the pnw
- 5/5
Such a cute place! The tiny house (modern) was so clean and comfy. I loved my time and plan on booking again in another house! Definitely somewhere I’d bring friends for a fun, lowkey weekend.
- 5/5
The craftsmanship of the tiny homes were superb and the atmosphere was a delight! It was nearby food and stores but also quiet outside and not on a heavily trafficked road. Perfect unique get-a-way spot!
- 5/5
My daughter LOVED staying in a kid sized dollhouse(tiny cottage) If you are interested in a little fun these are wonderful. I loved the common area outside . Everything was so inviting and cozy.. and tiny
