Comfort Inn Raleigh Midtown

Overall my stay was pleasant. The staff are all friendly, courteous and attentive when needed. The continental breakfast was always fresh and had options you’d expect while also ensuring the options were plentiful. My room stayed cool, the bed is firm and comfy, the toiletries stayed stocked and house keeping was present daily and when needed. My only issue was my key randomly stopped working more than once but that’s no indictment on the staff or the hotel itself. I enjoyed my stay.

This place is out dated ,under staffed, all good reviews are Ai !! This only thing good here was the free breakfast. Guaranteed to be disappointed 😞 I need to call cooperate!

Nice! Very good location. The bed and pillows are comfortable. I didn't get to enjoy the pool, but overall it was a nice 24-hour stay.

Property was located in the perfect location. Staff were extremely friendly! Our room was very clean but the bathroom towel bar was missing. The brackets were in place, just no bar. Armoire was difficult to open and needs some work.

The first night there were roaches in the room. Move to new room & no hot water! I had my 97 yr old mom with me.

Some of the seats in the breakfast room need to be replaced, they were very dirty.

WE ARRIVED ON SUNDAY AT 5 PM, WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS NO HOT WATER AND IT WOULD NOT BE FIXED UNTIL OUR CHECK OUT DAY OF TUESDAY. FROM WHAT WE SAW IN THE LOBBY IT LOOKED CLEAN. FRONT DESK CLERK WAS AT LEAST HONEST BUT COULD THEY NOT HAVE SENT US A MESSAGE ABOUT THE WATER SO I COULD HAVE FOUND ANOTHER PLACE?

It was clean and the room had a really nice flat screen tv. There was no hot water because the hot water motor was broken, but no one told us this, we had to find out once we were in and staying already and took the initiative to ask, which is a pretty sucky thing to do. Also the breakfast options were extremely limited, and there were a lot of random loud noises that happened at night, so honestly probably not going to come back.

Nothing, I need a refund and compensation for going through a terrible time when I had my mother staying with me. When I arrived bathroom was not and I had to report it, hotel smells like dogs and not service dogs. On May 30th hot water went out in entire hotel and I have recording of me talking with desk clerk about it and he said the manager wouldn't be back until Monday and gave a number to call and it went directly to fax machine. I was in room 215. Nothing, I have a voice recording of experice.

The sofa had visible stains from past spills. The bathroom floor had not been properly cleaned, with hair and bits of toilet paper still present. There also appeared to be residue or streaking on the bathroom walls from prior guests. As a result, I didn’t feel particularly comfortable moving around the room without shoes on. With more thorough attention to cleaning and maintenance, this could be a much more pleasant stay. As it is, I would not stay here again.

Not much. the bed was ok. room was a bit tired looking. the room was on the first floor not far off the lobby so it was noisy. But the big noise woke me around 11:30 pm. There was shouting in the hallway that went on for at least a couple of minutes. I called the front desk(right down the hall from me) and the clerk sounded half-awake and said he would check it out. How he could not hear it amazed me.

There are poorly worded signs taped awkwardly around the property informing guests not to enter clearly marked employee areas, reminding them they’re on camera, asking them to wear clothes in the lobby, etc… My room had toilet paper stuffed in the spaces between the pipes and the wall in the bathroom, mold on the wall paper, torn carpet, and there were hairs on my bed linens. I understand this is a comfort inn, but the price is not in line with what’s offered. The housekeeping staff were the only ones that were cordial. They at least smiled and acknowledged guests when they interacted with them.

Breakfast. The lady who checked us in asked for my id, but she didn't ask the guest in line in front me for their's. Then she studied the id as if there was an issue when I asked her if it was a problem she said no and handed my id back to me. That was discriminatory. Marijuana smell throughout the building, particularly the 5th floor. Elevator old and made a lot of noise while in motion. Food on the elevator floor when we arrived.

Nothing I didn’t like the fact that the faucet in the sink did not have no water pressure. I did not like that. The mirror in the bathroom almost fell on my face and broke because it came detached from the wall also, there were roaches sockets won’t working just straight trifling they had to pay me for a day and then the next day the next morning that’s when I seen the roach 7 o’clock on a Saturday they were using a leaf blower that woke me up. Horrible staff is horrible disrespectful can’t talk to nobody, and I will be posting this on TikTok and any social media. I will post a roach and everything I should be having my whole state of money back not just for a day.

There was a lot of variety for breakfast. I do wish it would stay open a half hour longer. The beds were very comfortable and the size of the TV screen was generous. The rooms are a little small and the temperature in the hallways and elevator were extremely warm. The interior looks like it needs z "refresh" from the carpeting to the drapes.

They need better WiFi. That’s all.

The only thing that can better was the water pressure in the sink and shower overall I enjoyed my stay !!

There was a sign on the front door that said to the extent, if you are found loitering on the property, the police will be called. That is not a good first thing to see. The room and furnishings were old. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cardboard box. The door to get to the refrigerator was hanging off the hinges. All in all, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The rooms smelled like cigarette smoke and pot. The outdoor pool was closed and we couldn’t even sit outside by the pool on a nice day because the staff said we weren’t allowed to due to state regulations. The gym had one treadmill and it was out of order and almost half of the free weights were missing. Intended on working out while we were there but not possible. The ice machine on the fifth floor where we were staying was also out of order. On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location and staff was friendly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.

It is a nice location off a quiet street, however the parking light was so big like a stadium light that I had to change rooms at 3am unable to skip from the brightness even thru the curtains. Fortunately they had one room left and it was on the other side of the hotel.

The other guests were up very late into the night and disturbed the sleep of the whole floor for 2 nights in a row. Laughing and talking very loudly. Smell of marijuana in various rooms and elevator was strong.

I booked two rooms for the night, asked for a pillowcase upon check-in and it had a bugs on it. we complained about the bug situation and they just shrigged their shoulders and said “yeah, it happens.” and would not refund the rooms, the manager the next day did not care to help in any way. We never stayed in the rooms and they kept our money in exchange for handing over bugs. I could not recommend this location less.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The AC was great, considering the hot 92 degree weather. I would recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was great. Loved the fresh waffles , eggs, and sausage. Didn't really love the room but it was ok. Fine for a night, just a little dingey. Wish the pool was open since it's warm.

I traveled there twice now on a business trip, only was there to sleep basically. They don’t give your security deposit back, bathroom ceiling was cracking this last time and you can hear in the room next to you. Won’t be coming back

We were only there one night but the staff were friendly and very helpful when our food was delivered without utensils. The breakfast includes eggs, sausage and a waffle bar, so there was a lot to choose from. It was also very convenient to both restaurants and the venue we were seeing a concert at.

The rooms were old and furniture all scratched up and chipped. The kitchen had nothing in it to use. Also no hangers for your clothes. I would not recommend this hotel.

WiFi is terrible, very slow when it works. Room was clean and comfortable, large screen TV, A/C heating unit worked well. There was a transient out back drinking and on his phone, staff too busy on their phones to walk the property or tell him to leave.

The hotel was nicely situated and very quiet. The desk staff was not particularly engaged when guests came and went through the lobby.

This property is older and in serious need of renovation. It's in a great location and reasonably priced, but it's not an ideal property. Elevator was malfunctioning. Rugs and carpets throughout the hotel and my room had severely worn areas and tears. Hair dryer was very dirty. Overall room was clean, however. Breakfast was good. It was quite full while I was here, I assume based on the cost. My husband is in the hospital a couple of blocks away, that's why I selected it. Probably would spend a little more to get a nicer hotel next time.

Overall staff was courteous but not particularly interested or helpful. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon for a 4 night stay. The room entryway light was out - it eventually started flickering so we turned it off. When we went out that evening, we advised the front desk. The next day we went to the convention center and returned late afternoon. The light hadn't been fixed. When we left again for dinner, I realized the room door wasn't locked. The green light came on when the key card was passed over it but it opened without the key card. I reported that to the front desk and asked them to send someone to look at it. I left for dinner although I should have stayed out of concern for our valuables in the room. When I returned, the front desk just said they'd give me a new room. No offer to help me move things. I moved all of our stuff to the other room which fortunately was just a few doors down. The new room was a little better although the curtains were coming off the curtain rod leaving a big gape to exterior lighting which was pretty bright. Additionally, there appeared to be a homeless person hanging out in the hotel with hoodie pulled all the way over the face completely obscuring the face. I saw this person sitting in the hotel and wandering the downstairs hall on Wednesday and Thursday.

Other than that. Staff were very courteous and professional. Breakfast wasnt the best tasting but at least they had it.

This hotel definitely needs some work on the premises, showing its age and feels run down. Also, needs vacuuming under couches in main dining area. Room bathroom was not clean. Bathtub needs to be replaced. Toilet kept running and had condensation on outside of tank.we will not stay here again even though we are members.

The first morning there was no hot water and they said it would be fixed that day. It was not. The next morning the water was luke warn, not hot. Also, I asked for a late check out of only an hour and they refused.

Room was clean. Portions of the rug were so worn it showed the floor underneath. Light on headboard was broken and hung down. So it wasn’t a bad room per se or bad stay. But if you’re looking for a beautiful room it’s not here. However, it was clean, free breakfast was good and plentiful, and the staff was friendly!!

Besides the worst water pressure of any chain hotel I ever stayed at—everything else was great

The staff is nice. The problem is that there are only two handicap parking spots in front of the building and two more all the way in the back. This is unacceptable for people like me who have to park far from the entrance. None of the electrical outlets by the beds worked, and the TV channels are limited, with no access to streaming channels. I was disappointed and won’t come back, even for one night.

The room was good. You can tell the hotel is a little older and needs minor touchups. Only true negatives were 3 of the 5 ice machines were broken. Other then that, staff was really great breakfast is what you’d expect.

I'm an essential worker. And at this location, they told me that if you live in a 30 mile radius, they were not allowed rent to you, I feel like when it's inclement weather and you work at the hospital down the street, you may give grace to people and on top of that, you should know how to talk. To people. I did not like the gentleman that was working the front desk

My room toilet overflowed and they didn’t have any available 2 beds available but THANKS for the receptionist at night he figured it out and made me feel comfortable I thank him for that GREATLY .. if it wasn’t for him and his reassurance and apologetic ways I would’ve asked for a refund but he was AWESOME !!! My stay was horrible but GREAT SERVICE FROM YA FRONT DESK !!! Especially the 11pm -7pm guy !!!

I paid for insurance and it was snowing so I could not drive 3 hours to go for the eye Dr appt that was made!! I do not want to be charged!!

HVAC system did not work properly the room was over 90 degrees and would not turn off plus the water pressure was so low that we couldn’t take a proper shower and the room was dirty. We will not be staying in a comfort in again. I am expecting a refund for the room rent thank you

Very clean, got a lot more room turndown than I was expecting, they came every day! Walls are thin, I heard the kids next door the whole time, but it didn’t bother me too much.

The actual hotel was OK. The staff, not so much. They were completely unprofessional, rude, uncaring, and nasty. I would love to talk to a corporate member if someone would like to reach out. What the staff said and did to me during my stay was unbelievably inappropriate.

I will never stay here again, upon checking in I was given a tutorial of how local residents can not use the hotel and in my case with work being done to my primary home this really upset me. Before I arrived I called to confirm that I would be checking in after 4:30 the entire call was filled with dead silence from the staff that worked after 5pm on 11-20-25 and one word answers as if the staff wasn’t aware of their own policy shown on their own policy of check ins after 4:30 pm.

The toilet was causing problems didn't want to fill a few times, the bedding had hair on it. And we were charged 25 dollars which neither of us knew about and it didn't have it listed where we booked as far as we could see and no idea if thats getting refunded

Overall a great place to stay. Staff were very friendly at the front desk, felt safe, lots of parking, easy walking distance to a grocery store. Our constructive feedback is that in Room 413 there is only very lukewarm water that comes out of the bathroom sink tap. The duvet had makeup on it (not from me) - seemed clean, but stained (gross either way). We checked in on a Friday evening and it would have been nice for it to be made more clear that the complimentary breakfast times were different on weekdays vs. weekend days (we stayed until Monday and missed the breakfast as it finishes an hour earlier).

Wifi was a bit slow and the room had damage to the desk and the pictures were dirty as well as the corners of the room, but the bed was comfortable and the hotel was near many good areas. Hotel was quiet in sleeping hours but a bit loud otherwise. Shower was ok and the plumbing was a little janky, took a long time for the toilet to flush and you can hear the plumbing in the walls.

Upon checking in the elevators were not working and got room on 4th floor. With recent surgery going up and down was difficult. Also my key didn’t work so ended up making two addition trips up and down. And the first night the room next door were noisy and I couldn’t sleep. Changed my room the next day and the elevator worked but I didn’t like the breakfast options also the hotel looked pretty worn down

The check in process was smooth, the room was very clean and comfortable. Outstanding location with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely will stay at this location again.

So close to shops & restaurants!

It was ok. But the hallways were CREEPY. The dim lighting and flickering light made it feel so dingy and uncomfortable. It’s definitely not the place to hang around and only a place to sleep with the door boarded up. The bed was nicely folded but it wasn’t properly washed because there was HAIR in it. Breakfast was decent basic stuff so im not complaining on that.

The staff was super nice but the hotel rooms seemed old and musty smelling. There were lots of people just “hanging out” around the hotel which made it feel very unsafe. Would not stay here again.

We were staying on the 4th floor and when we went to get ice after check-in, the ice machine on the 4th floor wasn't working. The third floor ice machine didn't work either. Thankfully we were able to find ice on the 2nd floor. It would have been helpful if they had told us at check in

My go to hotel in Raleigh.

Room phone was dead. Could not contact front desk after repeatedly calling the front desk because we had no bath towels. Had to get dressed and come downstairs to discuss all of the above. No bueno.

Breakfast was really great. room was nice. we dropped it one star because it smelled damp and musty. we didn't notice till the following morning the ac had been leaking and there was a 3 ft wet spot on carpet. but literally everything else was perfect so overall 5 stars. thank you for a great stay we will def be back!

Facility was mostly clean. Had a backpack with thousands worth the electronics stolen right in broad daylight feet from the entrance of the hotel from either members of the homeless encampment 100 yards away (which police were unaware of) and/or hotel staff which proved to be less than concerned or useful when we alerted them of the incident.

Nice, clean and safe feeling location. Easy on/off Interstate. Convenient to shopping and dining options. Only issue, which we addressed at checkout was a leaking shower head which had caused paint and mold issues in the bath/shower area.

felt sketchy, front desk was almost never manned, and some of the guests were clearly up to no good. def not a family friendly place to stay - did not feel safe here at all

Great hotel, for a last minute trip. Comfortable. People leave you alone. But are very friendly if you need something. Great breakfast as well.

We were in town for my nephew's wedding. The hotel was perfect seeing that it was right across the street from my nephew's home. They were very accommodating since we had a medical emergency before leaving our home, we got a late start and didn't get to the hotel until 2:30 am. The attendant was very polite! The bed was comfortable, however it was pretty tall, I had to jump into it being so short, lol. The breakfast was amazing! Eggs, sausage, bagels, toast. 4 kinds of juice, waffles. I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked ok. Not sure if it had algae, or if the walls were painted a shade of green, wasn't bad, just slightly green. It was nice to have someone at the desk 24 hrs.

I slept in my clothes.I did not complete my 4 night stay here that I originally booked.The door frames to the rooms look like handmade metal frames.all thru the building there are signs of wear and tear.this property needs some renovations and deep cleaning.Hallways are hot and muggy..very disappointed

Most important was the room was very clean. There was a lot of choices for the breakfast. All were delicious.

Lovely hotel in good area close to shops and restaurants and less than 2 miles to downtown. Just off the interstate so very convenient. Friendly staff, nice clean pool and good breakfast.

It smelled like pizza. No ac in elevator or hallway waa suffocating. Bathroom has no fan and got muggy after shower. Toilet didn't flush well. Not enough hooks for clothes and towels

My stay was not great at all, hallways were dark, and heavily odored. My specific room had wall patches, I’m assuming from previous damage. Shower head was broken, water did not get very hot. Bathroom floor did not look swept, bathroom sink was stopped up, paint chipping in the bathtub and wash clothes were dingy looking!

The staff was very nice. We stayed because our AC went out. However, the room had a rotten egg smell, smelled like sulfur or like it was old baby diapers. I did inform the front desk. But overall the stay was nice.

Staff is not available sometimes. Nobody at the front desk. The hallways are hot and wet. The AC unit makes the carpet wet and musty smelling in the room. The hallways smell bad. The gym is tiny, with broken machines, and just a few dumbbells, some of them are missing. The staff is really nice though!

I was there for several appointments at Duke. I requested a walk in shower and the room had it. My wife requested a late check out in case my appointments ran long, no problem. I return to Duke in October and will stay with you again.

The customer service was awesome and they always wore a smile. The rooms were very clean and organized

People were great, as was the room. The ONLY downside was that we could hear people moving around in the room above us - the facility could have better sound-proofing. Still, it certainly won't stop us from staying there again - overall, a very good experience!

Great experience. Friendly staff. Carpet seemed to be in an extreme need of cleaning. Everything else was great. Good for a quick overnight stay in Raleigh. Very conveniently located.

The hallways were crazy hot! Air set to 80. My room smelled like mildew. Everything was clean though. You could see where the bathtub had be repaired. I suggest maybe new flooring to get rid of the smell. The light above the bed was also broken.

The property was good. Nothing spectacular, but clean and safe. They do not let local Raleigh residents stay here which should be on the Expedia website and it is not. They still let me stay, but that was unnerving to hear.

Same food as all your other hotels. Getting old. Change the assortment.

Great location and close to Duke Raleigh Hospital. Very easy to get to. Staff is efficient and friendly. Room and common areas were very clean and comfortable. It was my 2nd visit and will continue to book my stay here when coming for my dr visits. Very pleasant stay and close to shopping.

The air was on in the hallways which made it have a stall smell. So of the usb outlets weren't working. Thier was mold on the top of the window. We went for a lacrosse tournament and had hope to use the pool after a hot day only to be told it was not working.

The bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the scrambled eggs and sausage as part of the breakfst choices. The staff were friendly, cordial and very helpful. Cannot think of anything I didn't like. Would recommend.
