The rooms were recently renovated and are very nice!

We booked a non smoking room, there were cigarette burns in the bedding. Overall a disappointing booking

But the bathtub… that was the worst part. It looked like it had survived a war. We actually had to lay a towel inside the tub just to shower because there was no way we were touching that surface.

The rooms are very very outdated, dirty floors and tables. The restroom was in horrible condition with a musty smell towels didn’t look clean. Had to go buy my own towels and bed sheets for the bed since it had stains. Very disappointing in this property. The rating on this must of been years back. The parking was real limited and narrow.

I liked the location and the price I didn't like the cleanliness. The bathroom could have been tidier, there was hair on the floor, dust in the toilet bowl. And it had a damp/old smell. Also, there was a large crack in the shower wall, which didn't inspire any confidence at all. VERY NOISY, lots of door slamming, lots of shouting. The bed in general wasn't comfortable in any way

Stayed one night & it wasn’t terrible. The room was clean, ac worked and staff was there to check us in I. The early hours.

Nothing. It’s riddled with vagrants and drugs. The pictures are false and the room was falling apart. Vanity coming off the wall and I was there less than two hours and cancelled before booking’s cut off time and the property says there policy is different. Everything. The pictures aren’t the current state of the property, there’s homeless people staying there and I saw two drug deals within an hour from the guests.

This is a budget, no frills hotel. There is no elevator and the rooms with two beds are all on the second floor. They charge for ice, does that tell you something? The best thing about this hotel is that it is attached to a great steak house called Think. Daily happy hours specials.

To start this I want to mention that I never review places as I know what im getting into but holy crap I knew it was going to be mediocre because of the price but wow I was shocked there was no staff member in the office to start we had to repeatedly ding the bell for service but that wasn’t the worst part by any means. When we found our room which was easy enough we get in and the room was very poorly renovated with a conglomerate of mixed discount furniture. The peep hole is literally falling out of the door. There’s a 2 inch gab below the door where I presume a door jam is supposed to be. Okay expected that much. Than we move onto the bathroom which was so poorly renovated the whole bathroom floods when you shower and the floors feel like im in a log cabin from the 1580’s so not great. The floors feels like it’s going to fall in when you flush the toilet. The shower head is leaning so far off the wall it sprays the shower wall instead of the top of your head with no way to change it. The bathroom sink was also not attached to the base. Overall very poorly renovated. Pictures are deceiving not great 2.3/10 wouldn’t stay again wouldn’t recommend.

The photos seemed to make the room look very clean and new but when we got there we saw burn marks on the floor, and the toilet was not flushing. Markings as well on the wall and table, and the desks weren't kept in decent condition. The TV was also glitching as well, and the windows don't have a screen to protect people from coming in if they wanted to. It was okay, but definitely can use some upkeep and improvement.

The bed was uncomfortable and extremely loud, with noticeable squeaking. The door frame where the lock sits appears to have been repaired multiple times, causing the door to move about an inch back and forth even when locked. Two electrical outlets were not working, along with the lamp on the nightstand. Additionally, the room did not match the photos shown at the time of booking. Overall, the room is decent if you’re simply looking for a place to sleep, but it did not meet expectations based on the listing.

It was less expensive than most places in Rancho Palos Verdes, snd it had a hot tub. It was hard to find, did not have a closet, had only 2 pillows on the bed , and the furniture and walls were scuffed.

The restaurant in front of it was good. The door had a big gash on the inside. The bed sheets were a little dirty, the mattress sunk in, you could tell it was old. The staff wasn’t friendly. The room itself looked ghetto. The bathroom was nice.

Supposed to be a queen bed but was a twin

Nothing! This is single handedly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at There was literally blood on the walls in my first room. They transferred me to a room that was a storage room. My final room’s shower handle was broken off and the bed spread was covered in stains. Hair in the bed. It was awful.

Rented three rooms for our family. Two 2-bed rooms were okay (relatively cheap but clean, adequate for night), the third 1-bed room was barely adequate, very sparsely furnished, but clean. The whole building was very old, in need of a lot of maintenance, the staff was responsive when asked for something, but not very communicative overall. Stay somewhere else if you can. HOWEVER, the restaurant in front of the hotel, Think Prime, was great, with a great happy hour and food.

If I wasn’t so tired I would have left to get a different hotel. The room smelled like smoke the pillows were clumped up cotton balls. The bed cover was stained and disgusting…use your imagination. There were blood stains on the ground coming out of neighboring room…kinda scary. It could be a lot better if ownership took pride in the property.

Building in poor condition, Remodling in progress looks like a poorley funded DIY project. No hangers, for rod attached to wall, drawers only in bathroom. The steakhouse had good food.

The room was run down...you can tell it's an old hotel...and it smelled funny. But the area is safe and everything was clean. Located right behind a steakhouse which was convenient and food was good.

The staff began yelling at me about my service dog which I thought was weird and even asked for my dogs paperwork. I was polite and nice when letting them know I have a service dog and they yelled no pets! The room was amazing though. Also there was a couple yelling at night, I guess the lady was cheating on him.

The room looked nothing like the photos online. Everything was old. The bathroom had loose floor tiles that rocked every time you stepped inside, didn’t shower cause it looked questionable clean.

Check In and out is good. They ask that you just leave the card key on the desk when checking out. I've stayed here 3 times as I live far and work in the area, it's convenient with early appointments the next day. However this room had several issues that I had to report to the manager. First they put me in a room that reeked of cigarette smoke, I asked to be moved, that was no problem. Once I was moved to the next room I went to hang my bag on the coat hanger and it fell apart, literally the legs are obviously broken and the arms to hang things as well. Then I went to pull back the blinds to let sun In and see the view, literally the blinds fell individual pieces to the floor. I don't understand why they would slide the broken pieces In as if they work. 7-8 blades fell out as soon as I touched it. I did inform the manager and he said he'd let someone know. I took pictures to show him. There is a sheet draped over the couch, upon investigation of why, I see the couch is filthy. I think that if you have to cover something in the space they should clean it( a little apolstry cleaner and some elbow grease) or get rid of it, or buy a real couch cover that can be washed

Fun location next to the restaurant / bar. Parking is tight for a truck, but it served a purpose for us and will go back cause the bar next door.

Their website pictures are pretty but the actual rooms are not at all like they are described. The beds are full size in our reservation we requested a queen bed. We asked about it and they said they had none available.

Parking is horrible. There is a steakhousr in the front, so many spots are taken by restaurant goers. Checking was the good, but the person was very rude when checking out.

I stayed here for 3 nights for a weekend event and it sufficed but it was a let down when I walked into the room. The photos are very outdated. There were cigarette or pipe of some sort - burns all over the nightstand tables. Burns in the comforter top cover. This was a nonsmoking room. Bed was at least clean.

Clean and staff was great but literally had a hole through bathroom door that was patched poorly. The shower needs to be replaced, thick gross caulking. Night stand was covered with cigarette burns. Rough looking place. Decent area and lovely staff.

Just awful, room is crazy small and in a shady neighborhood. Bathroom looks like a war zone and had cockroaches, even the ac unit had a car air freshener to mask the smell. Bed is hard and like sleeping on rocks. Would not recommend it to anyone.

While the restroom was decent (newer fixtures, modern finishes), the entire room was pretty worn. Lots of dings, wear, and large scuffs. The bed was advertised as a queen, but it was narrower than a true queen bed, not a bid deal. The room would not get cool, no matter how long the AC was on for. For the price, it was a fine stay in short notice.

The place is dirty, lets just begin with that. I think anytime a place calls themselves "Americas Best..." its fair to think its not, cause it never is. The bolt to my door was broken. The bathroom door would get stuck. The carpet felt like it was never cleaned. Parking is impossible if the restaurant sharing the space is open. They charge for ice, and its behind a cage. would avoid unless you have no other option. Not worth it.

The motel room that I was in looked like it had been remodeled, but it was poorly done and falling apart. The comforter had a large burn hole in it, trim was peeling off and hanging off of shelves, when you turned on the air conditioner it smelled foul, fridge was not cold enough, microwave dirty on the inside, etc. It was conveniently located for my needs, but I just can't stay there again. It's gross.

I never stayed. I walked into my room and it was hot, unclean, un pleasant, and didn’t feel safe and sound.

It was very nice on the outside, property wise, but inside our room was not the greatest as all. Graffiti and writing on the nightstands, cigarette burn in the comforter, ripped sheets, dirty headboard and carpet. Reeked of cigarette smoke when it was supposed to be "non-smoking". So much more I could list. Very friendly staff members though.

It is a $20 uber ride away from the Port of Los Angeles so it fit our needs for one night.

Overall would stay here again if I absolutely needed to but it’s not fantastic. And about 20 minutes away from the fun of Long Beach / shoreline village / convention center and queen Mary. Looks a lot closer on the map

Theres you get what you pay for and then there's this place. "Queen" bed was really a full. Dirty doesnt even begin to describe this place. Its worn down. Fridge doesnt look like its been cleaned in ages, freezer has so much build up on it. Floors are disgusting. Bring shower shoes, walked out of shower and the bottoms of my feet turned black after walking on the floors. Floors are also damaged and torn up. Drawer and doors are all barely hanging on or not on the tracks. Comforter had a ton of burns in it. Really dont know when the last time this place was really cleaned. Parking also isn't the best. If you're okay with paying more for a low quality motel 6 then go for it otherwise look elsewhere.

I cannot believe this property was even listed on Expedia. Things were broken/not working looked old and dilapidated. We did get another room only because it was prepaid. The two women who were setting up the rooms were great. Very helpful and accommodating.

The Bed was completely overdue for replacement as it sunk down very low due to the springs or something being wore completely out. Parking is challenging after 4 pm as there is a great steakhouse next door that shares the spaces.

The place served a purpose for a place to stay. There are many places to eat and grocery stores within walking distance. The place is somewhat rundown and parking is tight in areas. There is a few to get ice.

The room was shockingly torn up. Burn marks all over the furniture and the floor missing vent covers above the bathtub, which was weirdly in the bedroom. The door was coming apart to the bathroom.

Initially, the room was nice but the tv did not work. It took a lot of back and forth to the front desk to come fix it. Then I had to physically assist the guy (holding up the tv, helping him take it down, etc). After a while I finally asked for a new room. The new room was old and rundown. Plus my key card kept not working, it would not unlock my door. Several times I had to ask the front desk to reset my key. I was never offered a discount or anything.

What a horrible night. Workers banging tools in the parking lot, a brain busting chirping sound that echos through the room, people slamming doors, i will never stay here again.

Room was clean and great location just across the street from grocery store, restaurants and shopping. Only issue was that motel adjoins a steakhouse and when the steakhouse closed there was a lot of people (employees?) and loud talking right outside the door in the parking lot that awakened me and went on for quite a while. I poked my head out the door a couple times and they said, “Sorry” but continued on

The restaurant right in front of the hotel was blasting music for several hours until around 7pm, not a big deal unless you traveled all night and wanted a nap before dinner. You could see daylight around the door. Luckily the weather wasn't bad or it would have been very uncomfortable. The TV didn't work, so don't plan on any downtime in the room. The guy in the office has no personality but managed to be just on the edge of rude. It'll work if the weather is nice and you just need a place to sleep.

This property yes has been recently remodled but not well. First the door going in has many dents and did not close or seal properly. I did not feel safe. Deadbolted and all. Walking in the room they have hard wood or lpv flooring and the headboard and decor was clearly very cheap and not thought out or placed well. The tv on the wall has a cable box proped up but hanging from the tv to stay close to the tv. They advertise cable tv but it cuts in and out picture and audio constantly. My husband tried to take a shower and the marble tile is nice and the shower heads were pretty but clearly they did not level the floor properly or seal the door. No matter how the shower head sits the water leaks out the shower under the door and all over the bathroom. The last and real kicker for me was the blood splater on the wall above the headboard. Would not recommend

Pics do not reflect the actual property, it was definitely a lot smaller than pictures displayed, bathroom had hair on the floor, the door had a gap and you can see through the gap into the room , our room keys didn’t work after the first day but door could be opened without key card i used a debit card to just swipe the lock bc of that gap i mentioned and the door just pushed open, the tub didn’t drain properly, we had to wait about 10 mins for it to drain otherwise it’d overflow, when we mentioned how we got the door open the hotel manager just walked away.

I liked that it was easily accessible for food, the two days that i was there. Not very far from the 405, and gas station an liquor store, were both within walking distance. There is a skate park directly across the street if that interests you. I will definitely keep this place in mind for next time.

Amazing staff and everything I just think we came at a time they were remodeling so a lot of the times we took a shower it would clog, our door wouldn’t lock and it was just a mess

The property was well worn and the staff were a bit rude. The staff at reception tried to get us to take a room with a single bed when we had reserved 2 Queens. It was a good thing i had kept my notes. Also everytime we turned the TV off we had to get someone from the front decsk to come to the room to turn it back on. On the positive side the beds were comfortable and the location is good for shopping and dining.

Horrible experience! This place is unsafe do not take your children here. We stayed 2 nights out of necessity and only to sleep. There were people fighting outside, construction workers at 10pm arguing about stolen equipment. Our items were rummaged through and our power bank was stolen. There is theft don't leave your belongings in the room! Wear shoes inside or the floor will destroy your feet. The wood is splintering and lifting. It is not clean. It smells like bug spray and urine. There is mold in the shower. The pictures online do not look like the room at all at. We reported the incident to the front office and they were rude and the manager did not call us back. It's been three days and we will be submitting a formal complaint with the BBB. Save yourself some drama and pick a different hotel!

In need of refurbishment

It was an overcrowded room crammed full with two double beds. We had to walk sideways between a bed and the wall to hang up our clothes. The door fell off the fridge cupboard. The smoke detector was not there, only a mounting bracket. The bathroom sink was clogged. There was an air freshener plug in that we absolutely had to remove because of breathing difficulties. There was no bedside light. It was clean. When I mentioned some of the inadequacies, I was told that they were renovating next year and hoped to see us back.

Loved that it was close to restaurants but the cleanliness needed some work and the furniture was extremely outdated

The bathroom door was cracked and the hinges were broken. It also didn't stay shut or locked, you could open the door even when locked. The fridge was disgusting, we didn't put a single thing in it there was rust and it was resting on a dirty napkin cause the feet are broken. The curtains have burn marks and smoke stains embedded into them and you can't see out the windows, nor can you open the windows. Our ceiling had writing and drawings on it as well. The parking is awful, if your car was any larger than my Mini Cooper you were not going to fit comfortably and there was maybe 6 spots total. Housekeeping came one time, the day before we left. Our room key deactivated EVERY night. We had to go into the office to get it changed literally every day that we were there. The area is superrr sketchy. there was constantly people sitting outside of the room. Overall, spend the extra couple bucks for any other hotel.

The room was filthy, and it smelled like sewage outside during the evening. Saying check in staff was unfriendly is generous. the bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished by a disabled seal, with disgusting finish flaws everywhere holding pockets of unidentifiable fluid. Other than that, it was great. There is a good donut shop across the street and pancake breakfast place in walking distance.

Changed rooms, which had a working tv, security lock, cleaner but walls needed updating. The night staff when checking in was very helpful. I would not recommend nor stay here again.

Ghetto, dirty, and gross. Stayed here in the past and it was ok, don’t know what happened to this place. Used to be nice, but now it is just downright scary! Looked like someone was killed or beaten in the bathroom, as there were obvious traces of blood spatter. Furniture falling apart, noisy, domestic dispute in the parking lot. Paid extra for a room with a jetted tub, but too scared to use it. Really dirty!

This is like an old school motel that you see in the movies where it's not the cleanest, just old, and I could see it being rented by the hour. The first room we got smelled like someone had smoked 10 cartons of cigarettes in it for days. The next room was better, but still just old and tired. The shower was super hot and did have great water pressure so that was the upside. It is right behind the Prime Steak house which at first seemed like an old mob hangout from the 50's, but great service and music (if you like old school Neil Diamond and Jimmy Buffett). The area is nice and easy to walk to CVS and the supermarket so that part was great.

Unfortunately is not cheap, and our blankets were dirty with alot of hair but you know what type and even tho it says not smoke the room smells like some one just smoked few minutes earlier, we decided to stay because of the time we arrived theres no more rooms close by but i wouldn't go again, the tub was also dirty the bathroom door can't even been open because it hits the border with the tub

Area is great and staff is very nice. The rooms are a little run down, but you get what you pay for. They were cleaned well at least. Area is amazing, right across the street from shops, a gas station, and a beautiful park. I would stay here again.

Didn’t have phone in room

The room we stayed in was 105. First we didn’t have a remote in the room. The we realized that light bulbs ON TOP of the bathtub was broken, and loose. I was afraid to take a bath, luckily there was a shower. The air conditioning DID NOT WORKA FOR THE TWO DAYS WE STAYED. We would like some sort of compensation for the poor condition of the facility. The online advertisement was false advertised. It look great from the pictures.

We needed a place for last minute. We had a funeral to go to and service from the two different desk associates were amazing. Both very nice. Only reason wasn’t a 5 star review was a lot of things that needed to be fixed in the room. Besides that was worth the price.

There was no closet in the odd little room. We spoke to the front desk clerk and he said it was his first day. He let us look at another room which was nicer, but very small still had no closet. It was a depressing place. The TV remote didn't work right. We chose it because it was the least expensive place closet to where we were going, but it was not worth the money saved. We left and paid to stay elsewhere.

I checked out at 8:00am and dropped the keys through the office door crack because no one was there. Office needs more attention so that customer reaches someone in a faster way.

I should really pay attention to others' reviews. The walls need major painting. There was no toilet paper holder. the rolls were on the floor and behind the toilet. holes in the shower tile. paint worn off the wall behind the bathroom sink. No lock on the door except for the flip thing on the door. I asked for bath towels because the ones we were given I thought were hand towels!!! but they were the bath towels. The TV never worked. They did offer us to move to another room so we could watch the Olympics. No table lamp next to beds, so I grabbed one from the room we moved from. dirty broken air conditioner vents. lack of outlet plugs, only one outlet which was under a kitchen-like table in the room.
