Ok for an overnight stay after a long drive

Good place for stay

We stayed at this property twice on this trip, once on our way to Georgia and again on our return run. Staff at the front desk was very helpful ad friendly. The room (suite) was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower has the now-ubiquitous squeeze bottles for body wash and shampoo. It's great that this is provided but the bottles are not easy to squeeze and are difficult for older people who may not have the strongest hands. Pump-top bottles would be a better choice. Breakfast was disappointing but everything else about the place was fine.

Average in all areas. We had an alarm go off in our room with a consistent beep. A lady came up and took it off the wall to silence it. Will not stay here again.

We enjoyed this hotel. We walked to a Mexican restaurant which was right next door. (It was excellent!) The rooms were clean and the breakfast area was nice.

We were slightly disappointed when the EV charger was replaced by a new company. A few months ago, we had booked a different day, and we were happy that it was supposed to have a free charger.

We were there for the Hollins Graduation so location was excellent. The continental breakfast was much appreciated especially with a tight schedule. Slight cleanliness issue but overall the room and facility are great.

Comfy bed, great value for the room, quiet, good breakfast with bacon Bathroom had paper litter and hair (not from a scalp) on floor, maintenance lacking in that there was large streaks of caulk and poorly built. Had air conditioner and a heater both??. Hot water almost ran out during shower.

Location and pet friendly only! Nothing else! If I could give 0 stars, I most certainly would! 1 - Staff issues - Severe attitude problems and MAJOR unprofessionalism. Told a lie that they always let us check in early but have only done so ONCE. Why lie about something so minor? That made me very upset. If there is one thing I do not like, it is when people tell stupid lies. The person who told this lie is Shaquita. 2 - Snow incident (01.04.2026) - Called my hotel room and Asked me to move my car to a specific spot (that they chose) so the man could clear out the snow in that area. I go to move my car to the exact spot they tell me to, but the entire area is covered in ice. My partner and I are both disabled. To ask us to park in a specific area that is covered in ice is not only idiotic, dumb, ignorant, but immensely dangerous and unsafe. I called the front desk to say I am unable to park there and explained why. They asked me to park my car randomly in the middle of the entrance way and leave it there while the man finishes clearing out the snow. To ask me to leave my car on an ice filled entrance sitting up on a slight hill is again idiotic, not smart and unsafe. Not to mention, I am not leaving my car parked in the middle on an entrance just because you tell me to. I told her no, I would not be doing so and the fact that the have me out on the ice trying to find a safe place to park is a SERIOUS issue for me. So, they said I can park in one of the electric car spots (that was clear of ice). So, I did. But the fact that all of that even took place was VERY unnecessary and stupid. Who does all that? Even the man plowing the snow said to me they are dumb and have no clue what is going on. 3 - Missing tissues from tissue box (weird) - In the bathroom was a tissue box that gave the appearance that it was filled with tissues. When I go to pull a tissue out, only 2 come out and the rest of the box is empty. LAZINESS! 4 - Loud Music Incident @ 2 am (02.27.

Only negative was no items such as shower cap makeup wipes etc.

Our room was large, the bathroom fixtures were sparkling clean, the shower had great pressure, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the linens were good quality, the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker were useful and our entire stay was quiet! Hot breakfast was nearly the same each day; not enough variety and no hot oatmeal. Juices were watered down. Room was OK but on our last night, the bathroom began to smell strongly of cigarette smoke. Staff tried to determine the source; probably a guest below us smoking illegally in their bathroom. Ultimately had to relocate us to another room. Front desk staff were generally very helpful and friendly. Shower head was old and pressure was very so-so. Not a bad location overall, but not great either.

Front desk staff at check-in and check-out very friendly and handled crowd at check-in well. Huge room!!!! Room AC limited to 68. It was too hot in the room at first, but when we went to sleep the fan blowed right on the bed so we had to shut fan off. Buffet breakfast was the usual nasty eggs with sausage, dry muffins etc.

Stopped here on the way from Boston to Nashville. Easy to find off the highway. Great Mexican restaurant in the same parking lot as the hotel. The hotel was nice and clean. The room was very nice. The parking did not accommodate our motor home with an attached vehicle. We needed to unhook the vehicle to be able to park there.

The room was very spacious; it could easily have fit a second king-sized bed. We enjoyed the waffles for breakfast. I also appreciated that there were EV charging stations available at a reasonable cost per kW.

We had some issues with our travel plans and decided to stay here because of its location. Staff was nice, room was nice and I was actually asked if I preferred 1st floor or 2nd floor. Breakfast was good! Also, forgot my phone charger in the room at checkout and they were happy to let me back in to get it.

One of the best hotels/rooms I've stayed at during our travels back and forth from NY to Florida. Clean, modern and appointed. Quite area with available restaurants and stores.

Fridge wasn’t very cold and leaked inside on food. No one at front desk for several minutes when we wanted to check in. Breakfast just ok.

The Country Inn & Suites in Roanoke Virginia has always been our favorite choice of places to stay when we travel through the area. The building is very nicely maintained and is always clean, neat and in order. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and pleasant to deal with. It is a welcome Haven after traveling and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very pleasant stay.

We had to wait almost half an hour for someone to get to the front desk to check us in. The hallway carpets were filthy. There were multiple rooms around us with dogs barking and it took two calls and a trip down to the front desk for them to even consider the fact that it was exceptionally disruptive to those trying to sleep.

The lady at the front desk was phenomenal. Very funny and had a great sense of humor and was very helpful when we needed it.

Shower head was broke, needs replaced. Ac unit, had a strand sound coming from, the bottom of the bathtub was slick, I almost slipped twice. Refrigerater was not as advertised it was too small. The housekeepers didnt understand English and the Refrigerater wasn't cleaned out.

I ended up staying three nights at this hotel and I've also stayed in the past. It is ALWAYS clean and the staff ALWAYS pleasant. I work away from home often and I wish every hotel could be as nice as this one, and that includes much pricier hotels.

It was a seamless experience from check in to check out! Whenever I go back to visit my alma mater, I stay here at the Country Inn & Suites. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and come with various amenities, and most importantly are affordable! There are multiple options for fuel, dining, and other needs within shouting distance of the location, so no need to worry if you've forgotten anything! They even have cookies in the lobby at check in, which I witnessed some kiddos ahead of me with their family tucking into with delight! I will continue to stay here whenever I visit. This hotel has my highest recommendation.

This is an excellent place to stay. The only issue was that our room 103 was near the laundry and mechanical room and it was noisy. Otherwise a great place to stay.

I stayed at this hotel a total of four times: in August, September, November 23rd, and November 29th. Each time, I brought my dog, who serves as my emotional support, and always, after showing my license, I was exempt from the dog fee, but not on November 29th. The women working there told me they never grant such exemptions. I told them I'd never had a problem with it before, and even a week ago, I was exempt from the fee. The response was that someone else was working at the time, but now we're here, and if you want to stay with your dog, you have to pay for it. This means that some lobby staff accept it and others don't – so I'm grateful for this kind of service.

The only thing I didn't like was the handle on the toilet was so hard to push down on. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

We love staying at this hotel whenever we go to Roanoke. Our experience has been that the rooms are very clean and odor free. The pool is clean and in decent repair. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely our go to hotel in the Roanoke area.

The hotel has been recently updated and is very clean. There's a nice indoor pool, although we didn't use it. The breakfast was good. Nice variety of items with the option to make your own waffles. Water and cookies were available all day in the lobby. All of the desk clerks we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, bed was very comfy, and the heater worked well - it was snowing the morning we departed. Overall, we felt it was a great value, comfortable place to stay overnight while on a roadtrip. We would stay again if we pass through the area.

Could not even stay at hotel. Was so full of perfume triggered an asthma attack. Even second room as bad as first.

Rough night with fire alarm going off then power went out from 12:30 am until 5:30 am on on one of the coldest nights! Pretty sure others will give a bad review but these are unavoidable issues and the hotel did what they could. Breakfast was still served and I got on my way at 6:30 am to start my day! My only problem was the beds are very high - up to my waist - I had to go to a local store to buy a foot stool (the type you might use to reach upper cupboards in a kitchen) to get into bed.

I spent 3 nights while doing a college return. It was very clean and seriously quiet where I was. Pool was nice and so is the outdoor seating. Front desk staff was lovely. Just wished the coffee was hotter and stronger lol. Starbucks is across the street tho. I wouldnt hesitate for a second to stay again while in town.

Overall my stay was good. Only one complaint. A guest had their dog in the area of breakfast. She wasn’t asked to leave and the area wasn’t cleaned when she left out with her dog. It was NOT a service dog!

The room lacked some basics, specifically there was no note pad, stationary, or hotel labeled ball point pen. Also there was no guide to the available TV stations. The breakfast selection was a bit limited. The coffee was very good. Also, on the plus side there was a computer with internet access and a printer.

The heat/air adjusted easily when needed. The room was completely clean, and it was ample space. The only reason I gave a 4 out of 5 was the night before we left, I opened the cabinet to the microwave, and noticed the handle was broken and the scent of cleaner or freshener took a few min. to get used to. Since we we're heating up food, the microwave wasn't an issue. The fridge worked well. The staff would have had no problem bringing another microwave up, if we requested. We had other family staying in another room and didn't think their coffee maker worked. The staff came right away with another, but it turned out it was user error instead of it not working. All the staff were pleasant. The breakfast had more than enough different foods for guests to enjoy. We'd recommend the staying at this hotel.

Rooms are so clean, comfortable and affordable. Country Inn and Suites are quickly becoming our favorite overnight accommodations. The desk attendants have all been so nice and helpful. The cookies at check in are a nice touch.

Was a bit surprised by the fact that while housekeeping services was by request only. But information was not provided at check in. Doors in room were sticky and remotes were not working properly. Otherwise property was comfortable and met my needs.

Curtain in room totally ripped and unusable and left hanging. Taking a shower an NO BODY WASH!!!

Our room was so comfortable, sleeping was at the end of the room with a separate TV, ability to close the door for privacy. Bathroom was spacious and well equipped with towels, soaps and bathmat. End space had couches and separate TV with coffee, refrigerator and microwave. Incredibly clean. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. We will definitely stay here again, highly recommend

Upon his arrival we settled in, along with my service dog. We left almost immediately to grocery shop, as we would spend five days at the hotel. While shopping we received a call on my dog’s whining, we are on the second floor. We explained we would be back very soon. We were told that dogs were not to be left unattended. My partner, upset with our treatment thus far, went to explain to the clerk that as a dog in a new environment she would require a little time before settling. As a military vet, she has been in my service for over 10 years and never not by my side for very long. That same night, my partner and I got engaged and left to walk across the parking lot to grab dinner. Shortly after we placed our order we received another call. I left immediately back to our room, I waited outside our room and heard nothing, she had settled, again, reminded of the policy. Day two, I put my panties around her neck, left my dirty clothes on her bed prior to us visiting a friend. We received to complaint, nevertheless my partner was uneasy and we therefore cancelled all activities while one of us retrieved breakfast. Point, this is not a pet friendly hotel. Although, I carry my dogs service records we were charged $150. Military vets will want to avoid this hotel.

The property was clean, convenient and affordable. My only challenge was getting our room cleaned. We stayed for 6 nights..room was only cleaned once. The breakfast was okay, not a fan of biscuits and gravy yet it was iffered everyday. Could have provided something else like maybe potatoes. I definitely would have loved cooked oatmeal instead of the instant packages offered. The cookies in the lobby were a hit with my daughters. Front desk crew were very helpful and pleasant. Provide great information and advise. I would stay again though

We were charged a $50 deposit which we were told was refundable upon checkout. The charge was made to my card so I called the front desk and was told that there was dog poop in our room and the room smelled bad. However, we had not traveled with any pets.

Stayed here twice, traveling each direction of a week long road trip. Easy check in and check out. Very reasonably priced and conveniently located off the highway. Room was clean and updated, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fine, as expected for an included hotel breakfast. Cookies and fresh water in the lobby are a nice touch. I would stay here again.

Property was very nice and rooms were very updated. Staff were very friendly as well. However my room had a terrible smell, like mildew but more stale. I got in pretty late at night so I didn’t want the hassle of getting a new room, so this rating is just about the fact that this room was assigned to guests at all, and not related to staffs’ reactions.

Spiders in room. Tub was not clean. Towels were very rough. Pillows were awful.

Everything was great except the floors needed to be clean, my feet were black when I stepped into the shower and that was only from the room. Plus there was a spill outside our door which took awhile to clean up and it wasn’t done correctly there was still reminders of the spill the next morning.
