Quality Inn Rochester West

Old hotel. Clean enough but could seemed a bit grimy. Staff was considerate and helpful. Location is not appealing.

The breakfast was good with quite a few choices. We were only there over night, but found the hotel quite nice and reasonably priced.

Housekeeping was every two weeks, if you wanted clean sheets you had to bring dirty sheets to front desk for trade it and you had to make beds. Clean towels were available when you brought dirty towels for exchange at main desk. Beds were not firm at all. I think they were used. If breakfast was supplied, we were never told about it. I left with 5 nights remaining on my paid reservation but they would not refund any money. I wouldn’t recommend that place to my worst enemy.

We have stayed this motel 4 times. It is very inexpensive but provide us with a comfortable and clean room. The breakfast is very basic and sufficient for us. If you want fancy with a big breakfast, go elsewhere. If you want reasonably priced that provides your basic needs, then this is a good place.

My husband had to take a quick trip as his father passed away recently. After a very long day of making funeral plans he checked in to the hotel only to be put into a room that had large holes in ceiling with leaky pipes. Exhausted from the day he stayed the night. He checked out in the morning and ask the receptionist if they knew of the hole in the ceiling and they said yes. So somehow this hotel thought it was appropriate to put someone in that room. He was suppose to stay two nights, he checked out early. We aren’t familiar with Rochester and the area of this hotel is also very bad. The hotel and hotels.com refused a full refund. This is the first time I’ve had an issue with hotels.com and it’s appalling they were unreasonable with us after choosing to be affiliated with such a terrible hotel. Would never stay here again.

Relatively clean..a bit old in general but you get what u pay for.. Breakfast was lacking..waffles were good but bagels were mini sized. Seems not be in a very nice neighborhood..I would not walk around after dark.

Called front desk a couple times & nothing was resolved. We were in town for a dance competition. Literally got back to the room at 11pm & left by 8 the next morning. Couldn't sleep until 3am due to noise level. Friends stayed in another room that had pot smokers next door along with a prostitute that visited the men in the room. Do not bring your children here! Awful level of people that stayed at this hotel!

The cleanliness

—no smoke detector. It looks like the wall-mounted smoke detector was removed for painting the walls and not re-installed. —a few non-functioning USB outlets, probably from heavy usage. Both USB outlets on the bed light fixture were non-functional. Rest of building was fine. One of the front doors was out of order and blocked with a park bench. The elevator works but is slow at opening and closing.

The cleanliness of this hotel was very questionable. The smell in the hallway was very mildew & the room we had smelled like cigarettes our whole stay , even the towels smelled. The bed had a huge deep dent in it & the blow drier was sticky. Nothing was clean about this place

It was the worst night of sleep I’ve had. The parking lot was barely plowed. The ice machine was broken. I stayed in 505 which looks like SOS - the pipes are whatever is behind that wall bang and make the bed shake I wanted to talk to front desk at 7am but no one was standing there . I heated up two sandwiches and frilled my apple juice (terrible tasting) since oj was out. Again like I said worst night and I was only there five hours!!!! I couldn’t stand it! I would like a refund!

Everything was perfect

The place was nice and clean but it felt very dark because of the color choices. Also the lighting was like an industrial LED bright white instead of a softer more natural light. When in the bathroom, it was like being in a closet doing your makeup. I think using a different fixture or bulb would fix it. Next time they paint, use a lighter color. Breakfast was good, it just seemed the didn't put out enough of the egg sandwiches or yogurts for the number of customers. Once they were gone, they didn't restock for more people coming to breakfast. I have no major complaints, it was a pleasant enough stay for the night. My comments are just some improvements that would go a long way.

I booked my room for oct 12-17 online through Afterpay, reservation was made and payment billed, i drive 5 and half hours and get there and guy working the desk said i didnt have a reservation nor was any made under my name period. 1030pm or so, i go ok and book a room for the 2nd time and he charges me $400 ballpark fee which was lesser than the cost i paid online, so far there was 2 payments of $118.69 billed out of my bank account, and 2 more equaling the same price left on both which totals $474.76 for a room that was booked but apparently your computer didnt have the reservation that costs me an additional full cost out of pocket to book the 2nd room that was so disgusting inside there was no way id be fine amongst the army of roaches i encountered everywhere the second i turned the light on which i exited just as fast to get away from whatever wet dog smell by the closet that was real strong enough to take over the whole rooms atmosphere... can someone in upper management or whoever is in charge of situations unvolving settling refunds please respond or contact me and help me solve my problem this hotel caused me not on purpose but somehow its gone unnoticed without anyone knowing it happened since i wasnt contacted like i wouldve if they did... my number is 570 328 6642, Mon-Fri i work 7am-530pm, but ill be waiting to hear even during work time, usually it would matter but ill make sure im available to try to settle this for good... thank you and enjoy your Saturday!

The property is in the middle of nowhere in a semi-industrial area. Street people abound! The hotel is in very poor condition. Some guests were running crazy in the hallways. Breakfast was terrible. The stay was worth maybe $75/night not the $200 we paid. Never again will I stay at a Quality Inn and I will not ever book with Expedia because I expected Expedia to provide quality and it did not.

Property was very dirty. Staff was non existent except for the few times we ran into them outside smoking weed. Very unhappy with our stay.

The rooms themselves were nice. Comfortable and clean. However, the walls are very, very thin, and the doors are squeaky. I was unfortunate to have neighbors that were in and out of their room all night. The sound of slamming doors and squeaking kept me up for most of the night. Our neighbor had his TV on and it was like he was in the room with us. With a little bit of tweaking, this hotel could be even better.

I will. Ever stay at this property again. The boor was broken and kept sticking which is a fire hazard and when asked to move we were told no. The room smelled like a pack of cigarettes the staff was rude I will never waste my time staying here again.

Our stay was a comfortable one. The hotel was clean and the staff and management were available and polite. No complaints. Breakfast was good and there was a lot to choose from. We enjoyed our time in the area.

Some light fixtures and TV did not work. Bathroom fixtures were loose and toilet "shaky." Breakfast was terrible with very limited options. Front desk person, although very nice, was not always available as he was charged with doing other things around the property - with no back-up support. Desk chair was broken and almost unusable. No other sitting chair in the room. Hallways tended to be noisy.

Room smelled awful throughout the entire stay. There were holes in the bathroom walls and brown mold above the window. All the outlets have extremely bright blue lights, illuminating the room all night. THERE WAS NO BATTERY IN THE SMOKE DETECTOR!!!!! The walls are paper thin, I could hear everything in the rooms next to me. Breakfast was disgusting with hardly any options

Conveniently located off freeway, clean, friendly staff, continental breakfast of coffee, juice, cereal, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fresh fruit. Room was spacious, bed was fine, the pillows were too small and too soft and the AC was very loud. The doors, some of the walls and ceiling could use a paint touch up. Had to drive a bit to get to area with restaurants, shops, etc., but it was good for a nights stop.

The hallway smells awful at all times of the day. I requested clean towels, none were provided. I had to get them myself. There was a wet spot on the floor. Manage came into room upon request and checked the wall. No answer or refund offered. Hotel is older. Weed smell is strong on a daily. I would not stay here again.

It was not up to Quality Inn standards as we found a used bar of soap in the tub/shower, quite noisy during the night..plus had to park far from the building while there were many unused charging areas near to the door! Plus there was debris? On the carpet in the hallways?

Sheets were dirty, room smelled like smoke, the ac/heater was broken so it would not turn off, there are no ventilators on the bathroom, no hot water from bathroom sink and it just wasn’t inviting.

Inexpensive, but good value for money. We try to travel simply. This works. Staff was very accommodating. We have stayed at this property several times , whenever we visit friends in Rochester. Simple breakfast, but all we need or want.

Was not bothered by anyone but did not like that no one bothered to clean the room during my entire stay with the exception of them cleaning the night before my departure.

The room is very clean. I love the kitchen. Please get rid of the LED lights. They're harsh and flicker. The exhaust fans are sometimes noisy.

My son and I liked out stay. The property has a "Just Painted" look and feel, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, convenience comes with a price, and the hotel is adjacent to the local express way, and surrounded with commercial properties. The walls and windows just can't block the level of noise. However, we slept well and enjoyed out stay.

The Gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. Heavy fragrance in hallway was overbearing and one has to wonder if it's to cover a worse smell? Shower curtain and sheets stained and very questionable as to whether or not they were even clean. Pillows were yellow. The filter on the wall unit was clogged and had not been cleaned in a very long time. The elevator was very dirty and the floor sticky.

You'll see many examples of how they make it look like its a premium hotel but its an expensive two star. busted hotel cart, the wrap is peeling off the quarter round. Why didn't they just paint the quarter round. hallways are dark. should of stayed at a best western

Bed was disgusting, many stains andnholes. The walls might have had blood on them and the ceiling in my bathroom looked like falling apart (hope no lead!!)

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. Constant dripping of the faucet in the tub could not stop it. Phone cord for the receiver was missing. Couldn’t even call the front desk. Door and the stairway on the bottom floor was broken, knob came off in my hand as I tried to open it. Breakfast was horrible, no fresh fruit, nectarines were like solid rocks, and the apples were spoiled. Person at the front desk was unavailable in the morning, finally found the person after about 15 minutes, express my concern about the condition of the hotel, he didn’t seem Too interested in hearing me.

We had a room that had a issue with the smell of urine on it seemed like the bed cover and it sounded like a water leak above the bath room. It is beside an airport and it wasn't busy but you should be ready for an occasional departure.

The room was upgraded, spacious. It was only one night but the room was very confortable.

Hotel is dated and not clean. Shower and bathroom had black flies everywhere. Faucet in shower was broken. Comforters were ripped and stains on beds. Mirrors shattered, stained furniture.

Everything was clean and adequate. One thing they have to change are their duvet covers as many stains and rips

When we first got into our room there was absolutely no electricity. We had to switch to another floor in a hurry. Other than that it was a good stay.

Easy access to route 322. Close to the Hershey Chocolate complex & the Giant arena.

For us this was a last minute replacement for a hotel where conditions were terrible. Looking for just the basics. We were very pleased with the quality and comfort of the Quality Inn.

The thing in the bathroom sink is missing from a previous guest.. The microwave was missing prior to my check-in so I had to use the breakfast service area... The window was slightly open & I couldnt get it to closed. .so i had to turn on the heat...bc it had raind that night (9/9/24)

Everything was wonderful

The room ceiling was falling apart and clearly showed water damage. There was banging and knocking noise being made throughout the night. The bath tube drain was clogged and slowly drained the water. I would not stay here again or recommend anyone to stay.

We based our decision on this hotel on prior stays, location, and price. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Price was reasonable. We would stay there again.

The only reason these situations did not cause me to react in a negative manner - having to complain to whoever, write a one star rant on a feedback site – there was nothing the staff could have been done to prevent these situations. Everything was done to prepare these rooms for occupancy. The rooms were clean nothing was amiss. One cannot predict a clogged toilet nor clogged bath tub drain. Who could predict bugs in a bathroom area where there is no nearby source food? A change in the weather perhaps? The Quality Inn receptionists acted quickly in each case. I gave Quality Inn four stars - I had to throw out my garbage. No one came to ask if we needed anything. A Quality Inn receptionist at the front desk must be notified for more towels, cups or get your garbage thrown out.

Very affordable but there’s a reason for that. The place is average at best. Breakfast is very limited and they don’t do a lot of clean up. It is relatively sketchy there in a sketchy part of town. Not for everybody, but if you’re on a serious budget, go for it. Walls are paper thin, too, between the rooms.

It was quiet and relaxing I always stay there when ever I go to Rochester although I think it should also cater to people that don’t eAt pork or beef like turkey stuff

Negatives: Elevator had damage to ceiling and walls, our door reader fell off (but was operational), and floors were not the cleanest. Some tenants didn’t adhere to no-smoking policies (despite clear signage throughout the buildings). Parking lot felt hidden away and unsafe, but didn’t have any issues. The bathroom was extremely small, and hard to be in use with the door open. Positives: Beds were clean and made, lights, TV, and outlets worked as expected and bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. The breakfast was provided on time and lobby / eating area was enough to accommodate those who used it. AC was cool, room was quiet enough even with proximity to lift and stairs.

I do appreciate 🙏 her so much. I wish l know her name, but check the night shift staff that worked on September 1st night, she's the one. Please appreciate her for me. She's a wonderful staff. ❤️

This property was dirty. I found dirt in my rooms, as well as clumps of hair that weren't mine. There was a hole in the wall, the sheets were stained. The stairs and "gym" were flooded so there were just puddles of water around, and they have no bath tubs available to use. All of their bathtubs have no stopper making it impossible to bath. When I asked if I could be moved to a room that did have a bath, they said all of their tubs were like that. When I asked what about families traveling with small children, they just shrugged and then warned me that if I tried to make a stopper and the tub overflowed that they would charge me a lot of money. Which I found ridiculous that they would yell and threaten me like that. Horrible place, I wish I never stayed there and I wish I could get my money back.

In booking this hotel my expectation wasn't really high, to begin with, but it wasn't a great stay. When we first came in, we turned the AC on, and it was great! it was freezing when we came back so we turned it off and after that we had trouble with the AC all night. It looked on but kept turning off and we had to get up several times in the middle of the night to try and fix it, but it didn't work. The carpet in the hallway and room were stained. it looks like the cleaning person did not do a thorough clean because they was still a towel left hung up the shower and hair around the sink area. the last annoying thing was that breakfast was included from 7-10 by the time we came down to try and grab something everything was done except an orange. Again, my expectation wasn't that it would be a high-end breakfast but at least enough food for the expected guest that are staying there but that was not the case. lastly, the elevator was very dirty and damaged. the corners of the panel walls were broken, and the floor was dirty and sticky. not clean at all. I would not stay at this one again.
