Motel 6 Rochester, NY - Airport

Had to beg housekeeping to clean my room after 7 days. Clean towels? Better off bringing your own. No elevator is hard for the disabled. The front desk on day shift was rude. Tyler was a completely unprofessional employee. He always stared at me and hated when I asked him anything. To make matters worse, I did not get my deposit back for a technicality. The room was cleaner than when I checked in. Don’t try to save money as you’ll pay for it in other ways. Look elsewhere!

Tried the coffee bar, my coffee was gray in colour after adding milk. There is working A/C, however. And it is close to the airport. I survived easily, but I prefer greater comforts.

The location is really good for getting to things around Rochester.

This place was ny last resort, I was intown for a Funeral however it was the same weekend as a Tournament. This hotel was not prepared...walls were dirty rooms smelled like that make Newports in house. They didn't clean the room and they told me they ran out of towels. Smh..Definitely needs a 100% remodel.

When I booked the hotel it was based on location to the Civic Center. The directions were spot on However the room was not as clean as I thought. Upon arrival the staff was pleasant but distracted due to being filled up. I couldn't enter the area close to my room because they were replacing the rug releasing dust and allergens into the air. The outside door did not lock after hours.

The property is close to the airport. They do allow you to leave your car there for a small fee per day. They do offer airport transfers.

I have stayed at this property repeatedly over the past 2 years and it has gotten progressively worse. Now I will NOT return. Upon checking into my room the doorknob came off in my hand. I was only there for a few hours to sleep prior to a flight otherwise I would have changed rooms. The hallway reeked of weed and there were several “tenants” hanging out outside making me feel quite uncomfortable as a single female traveling alone. I will pay more in the future for something better!

​The Room: Burned and stained bed linens, stained pillowcases, and a worn-out mattress sagging in a "U" shape. The TV remote didn't work and was literally taped shut to keep the batteries from falling out. ​The Door: A daily workout. The lock mechanism is broken—you have to pull the handle up (not down), wiggle it, and shove the door hard just to get inside. ​The Smells: Supposedly a non-smoking hotel, but the hallways smell 100% like pot and cigarettes. Marijuana smokers clearly love this place. The hotel threatens a smoking fine, so maybe this is just how they make their money—because they certainly aren't enforcing the rule to keep the air clean. ​The Staff: The only saving grace. They are 100% all-in and incredibly helpful. To their credit, they offered to fix things, but it was 11 PM on a last-minute, one-night stay—I just wanted to sleep, not have maintenance working in my room late at night. They are doing the absolute best they can with the terrible resources management gives them. ​Skip this place until management invests in basic maintenance and cleans up the hallways

Do not send any one to this place. It appears to be a shelter/ motel. They actually check the rooms for blood when you check out because that has been an ongoing problem with previous guests. There were addicts in the hallway.

The only good things were the bed and the toiletries. The bedding was fresh and clean, and shower and shaving supplies were provided. All the furniture was very old. There was only one chair in the room. The clothes hangers were the wrong size for the rail they hung on and kept falling off. We were unable to turn on the TV because there was no remote control. Our request to rectify the situation met with absolutely no response. The cold water tap in the bathroom was broken; then, the following morning, the water supply to the bathroom was cut off completely.

Most disgusting property i ever stayed at. Floors dirty, toilet clogged, fridge something was spilled inside and dirty. Shower leaking and no hot water. I didnt even stay the nights i booked and just left somewhere else. Expected more.

This is by far one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Dirty and shady are the best description for this place. Shady people just hanging in the parking lot. Shady people walking the hall. Clerk is behind bullet proof glass. Armed guard in the lobby. THEN the room. You will get to hear music and yelling from all the rooms. Filthy is the best way to describe the place. I brought the receipts. Dust, blood, dirt and all kinds of unknown stains are throughout the room. See attached photos. Toilet handle was broken. Two of the four lights were missing bulbs. The refrigerator door was hard to open due to the sticky stuff all over the seal and shelves. I think staying in my car would be the better choice. Stay FAR FAR away from this place, drive another hour if you have to. Value your life.

I chose this motel because they were pet-friendly but they overdid the air fresheners in the room and lobby so much that my cat and I sneezed all night. They didn’t provide a hair dryer and there was only one very thin blanket.

The room was cold had to have the heat on all night as it would not set to shut off. The shower curtain had a burn hole in it. None of the outside entrance doors were secured doors. The check in girls was very nice. They had soap and toothpaste toothbrush in the room which was nice. You had to make sure the room door shut, the tv had a line through it and the remote was not connected to the tv to change the volume

The room was neat and plenty of space. However the desk in the room was a medal desk that had seen better days. The shower was so nasty I refused to take a shower in it. The toilet didnt flush unless you held the handle down.

Stayed there the night before my flight unfortunately when I came home from vacation I had a flat tire the lady at the desk wouldn’t let me use the phone to call CAA.

The room's heat was not turned on intil we arrived. It finally got up to 65" at 4:00 am when we got up to leave we slept in our clothes. When we called to ask for heat at 10:00 (we arrived at4:15), the man said " There's heat. It's a big room and a concrete outside wall. What do you expect? I expect HOTELS.com to take this off your recommended hotels.

I would never ever book there again. If the hotel only have a certain amount of smoking room to book that should be communicated with whatever third party they deal with. Shouldn’t half to get there and to be told you have a different room from what u booked because the others were being renovated. The worst part was the first so cold even with old piece junk called heater. Was on 90 still cold, switch to second room heater only went up to 86 had to sleep with clothes and take the covers off extra bed because they don’t have extra blankets

This hotel has been less than impressive. I've visited this hotel on 3 separate occasions and the time have been poorly maintained. When I entered the room, there was a mirror laying on the floor, the floors had debris around the baseboards, heater didn't warm the room at all, tv remote didn't work and the volume or channels could not be changed, no microwave as advertised, management was unavailable, the tub and the walls of the bathing area was dirty, toilet paper was left from the previous quests, and the refrigerator was dirty and had old stickers on the door. Almost 200 dollars and this is the level of service that's given.. I'm not pleased.

Table inside the room was very sticky. Hotel is noisy, no options for breakfast. Charged me over 50 dollars for just checking in half an hour early. Dogs barking inside some room and was very annoying. My worst experience in a hotel.

Room was adequate. Very nice woman at check in. However our tv didn’t work. Requested assistance but no one showed up. When we were ready to go to the airport they took us, did not have to wait at all. Will return for our next flight out of Rochester, NY.

Absolutely horrifying!.while getting dressed the front desk authorized 2 sets of key cards for the same room and my husband and i were walked in on by some stranger. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

This is easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, was given the wrong room, with someone already sleeping in there, the doors don't lock, there are bed bugs, used toiletries like shaving razors offered in the bathroom, the counter is behind bullet proof glass, they share a parking lot with a liquor store, the exterior card readers don't work and the doors are broken, there are air fresheners up and down the hallways instead of cleaning the carpet, absolutely should be condemned

Room was horrible. First night stay no heat and the television didn’t work. Complained about the entire stay with no resolution. Then had heat for half the stay. Falsely advertised breakfast. And the place is just run down. Staff at night is just rude. Buyer Beware!!!

I wouldn’t recommend this for more than one night. I was able to check in at 1pm but that’s where it went downhill. The halls reeked of weed, which was not their fault. To get into my room, I had to lift up on the door handle, not down and it didn’t open the first time half the time. The tv had a lot of channels, but the screen was half broken. It did have a fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very outdated. Everything was very no-frills. I did find a hair in the sheets. Very close to the airport-4 min. Overall, you get what you pay for. It was a place to sleep.

This hotel is a deposit slip business. Nothing has ever been reinvested into this flea bag property. It should be condemned! There are no phones in the rooms. No wake up calls. This hotel should not be a branded property. I'm embarrassed for Motel 6. Be afraid! Stay away!

I felt like the bathroom ceiling was going to fall in because of the long warps not only above the toilet but the shower.The shower curtain rod was barely connected leaning forward like it was going to fall off. There was mold on the wall of the shower and excess grill all over the tiles. The vanity just outside the bathroom there was a storage slot looks like maybe for tissue where there was exposed plywood that looked dark possibly mold. I booked a non-smoking rum and when I got there they told me I was booked for a smoking room and they had to change my reservation. This room look completely different from the one I booked online. In the lobby and in the room there was such a strong smell of marijuana almost unbearable that odor was there for the majority of our stay making my wife and I both nauseous. The reason for our stay is because I had a medical procedure for the next day and I needed rest before going to the hospital and that was impossible.The heating air conditioning unit in the room was extremely loud with loud banging the whole time it was operational.It sounded like anytime someone in the building used the plumbing the pipes in the ceiling and walls would create loud banging noises making it impossible to sleep. The small area with the microwave and it looks like a place where they would put food out was dirty and I was afraid to touch anything in there or touch most things in my room There were other things that made our our stay miserable. But out of space.

Lobby was decorated nice for the holidays. Outside doors were rarely locked and never needed a key to enter. Room had rusted hangers, a broken vent, burn marks on the counter, and a dirty shower that I did not feel comfortable going barefoot in or even taking a shower. Every hallway smelled like marijuana. Parking seemed safe for the two nights, location was convenient to pretty much everything, and wasn't too noisy considering it's not far from the airport.

Being asked to make a $100.00 security deposit when we registered should have been a clue. Advertised as an airport location but the hotel was not at the airport. Still trying to get all of that deposit back, though we did no damage and didn't take any towels! We wouldn't have wanted them. Quick business trip we chose a hotel brand that we don't usually use, bad choice.

The motel staff did not come to clean the room. The trash was not emptied. No fresh towels. The place needs renovations bad. The bathroom was dingy, the plumbing was bad... I can't tell all that was wrong with that place. I was there to visit my sick dad and did not think about going elsewhere it would have been too much trouble.

Overall an alright motel, bathroom was a little dirty, the air conditioner sounded like a jet taking off, and actual jets flying overhead but being close to the airport that's expected. Not super close to any attractions in Rochester but easy to get an Uber. Overall a solid lower star hotel has the basics of a mini fridge and microwave and cable

There was no refrigerator, toilet flooded, the water cut off without notice for a couple of hours. And no one wanted to accommodate me for anything.

The clean sheets and reasonably comfortable bed was the only thing that kept us from walking out. This is a budget hotel I don't expect much. I'm okay with scratch and worn-out furniture, etc, but the bathroom was atrociously dirty - mold around the tub caulking, hard water film and stains. I don't think it had been cleaned in months. My wife refused to shower...i stood on a towel. Again, I like budget hotel at times, don't care the furniture is old and outdated...but clean the room!! Phew, I've stayed in some sketchy hotels throughout Central America, but wow Motel 6! Positive notes: the water was nice and hot, the door locked, and the AC blew cold and not too noisy. Oh...don't touch the TV remote, gross.

As an American who has just returned from two months in eastern Europe (in Ukraine, a country being destroyed by Russian drones and rockets on a daily basis, yet where the people are proud and take great care and pride in not only their own presentation, but also that of their properties) and Australia it is humiliating and disgraceful to see a "motel" so dirty and neglected, administered by staff who show no signs of pride or thanks to be employed in this wonderful country.

This is a bait and switch hotel. They have really nice pictures online but when you actually get there complete opposite the whole place stinks no microwave the sheets have stains pillows have stains on them towels have stains. Had to buy my own bedsheets and use my own towels bathroom was disgusting. Room was not clean stains on the walls stains on the floors just an all-around nasty hotel. You can get a much nicer hotel.

This was literally the only hotel room available in all of Rochester, so I took it - my flight from Syracuse was cancelled and I was re-routed out of Rochester early in the morning. I had no other options. And I still regret it. I would have been better off sleeping in the airport. It was so sleezy I refused to even get under the covers. The bathtub was so gross, I chose not to shower. The door to the room did not close properly, so I propped my suitcase against the door. The AC didn't work. The TV next door was on loud all night. There was a terrible smell all around.

motel sixes are always a roll of the dice with usually a losing toss. This particular location was above par in that regard. It had obviously been renovated but the renovations were not of the best quality. The room was spacious and quiet. the bed was adequate but not great. But if you're coming in on a late flight and don't want to sit in an Uber for 20 minutes this is a good choice. They do offer airport pick up and drop off. They also collect a $100 deposit which takes 4 to 5 days to get back to you assuming everything is OK.

AC would not shut off and refrigerator made a clicking sounds. Had to unplug them so I could sleep. Property is dirty and exterior landscaping and parking lot are not well maintained. I will not stay here again.

It’s a Motel 6. You get what you get. Front desk service was very good but inconsistent— one was extremely helpful when I had to change my plans, while another could barely speak English. Room was quite clean but the floor was sticky when I took my socks off. You know, what you expect from a Motel 6.

This place isnt what was advertised. This place didnt even have an elevator. The outside doors didnt even have a lock, they were broken. The room smelled like stale cigarettes and dirty butt. The floor was dirty ,had to where our shoes. The sink was broken. there was no screen in the window and we were on the 2nd floor. Also the bathrooms were disgusting we had to wear flip flops to take a shower. They sheets were also dirty, we had to go buy sheets and a cover to use the bed. I've never had a bad experience with hotels.com but this hotel is very deceiving.Also wasnt told that I had to pay a deposit until I got there.Was told it was a set price and thats all I was expected to pay.

Also it’s $100 deposit fee !!!Made it to room. I’d be better off sleeping outside. Its dirty run down door barely closes. Walls are filthy everything is so rundown and old. If I didn’t have a very early flight and no ride I would have walked out. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Service is terrible, when asked for refrigerator to be exchanged because it wasn’t working and my food would go bad, they took two days and when arrived they came with an attitude to make the change. They said they give housekeeping service every 3rd day but they didn’t, when we asked for towels, clean sheets etc so we could clean the rooms ourselves they responded rudely and barely gave us any supplies or they didn’t have any. You can’t get clean towels or clean sheets throughout your stay and you will NOT get your room cleaned.

Staff very rude, shady characters coming and going interacting with staff. Grass was cut, but weeds and landscaping was not kept up. You get what you pay for.

I get there was a fee for checking in early only 10.00 not so bad but then on top of it a 100 dollar deposit.

Had to change the room twice due to rooms not being clean. However, the manager was very accomodating and he checked out the cleanliness of the third room.

it was much nicer than i expected

They gave us sheets with blood on them, like someone had a period on the sheets and then we found illegal substances in the drawer. It was a smoking room so I thought it was an ashtray but I picked it up and there was a razor, a straw and some white powder on a paper plate. Someone also tried to break into our room. Very scary, we have unlocked a whole new trauma do not stay here I’m not making this up I really wish I was..

It was enough for us to sleep and continue

The place is rundown. Across the hall was 2 rooms of young men who were loud and in and out of room and in hallway being roudy. TV did not work in the room. Shower curtain did not stay closed during the shower.

They can do better with cleaning the rooms.

You get what you pay for. It’s kind of run down and it’s very basic but it worked for us.

Clean and quiet area with comfort beds

I went to Rochester ny for my second time I need it a place just to sleep so I booked this motel 6 was my worse experience I found a person sleeping in my room my first night which they had to change my room ,the room are not clean the bathroom was not clean nothing was clean the bed mattress was dirty I do not recommend this place better close

The microwave freezed and the ac wouldn’t turn on,we heard noise from the other rooms and the hotel doesn’t have breakfast, and there were only three toothbrushes when there is four of us here,and the bathroom the toilet is not clean there,and someone left there charger in one of the drawers.

You get what you pay for. For how cheap we paid, I wasn’t expecting anything crazy but I was pretty disappointed in the state of the bathroom when we arrived. It hadn’t been cleaned fully, there were dirty facecloths and no towels at all for us. The floor was filthy and had a ton of human hair. Wifi password was provided but did not work, I found out at check out that it’s all lower case. But nowhere states that, the password given had uppercases. They do allow pets but there was a dog barking all night so that was pretty disruptive. If you just need a cheap, safe place to crash at night this place is perfect, but don’t expect too much. The staff were lovely though and offered to give us a better room when I explained the bathroom situation and asked for some towels.

It wasn't clean, there was a broken door on the chest of drawers. I couldn't get WiFi, as they promised. I didn't feel very safe. There was a broken lock on one of the outside doors so anybody could get in.

The airport transportation was prompt and convenient. We were charged a $100 damage deposit, with assurances it would be refunded. What a joke...the room was coming undone all over and we should be paying a damage fee!! There was no phone in the room to contact the front desk when our bathroom ceiling was leaking, got our towels all wet and we needed clean ones. Very hard to communicate with staff.... could not understand their "English". I am a neat freak and this room was filth!

The room had been painted in a sloppy manner. There were human hairs on the bottom sheet

We did not get the room we reserved and there was no AC in the reception.

Location is good, price is good, but kind dirty and no clean up daily

Quite disappointing. The property is in a poor shape in all aspects-awful smells in the corridors, unclean carpets, room furniture outdated and falling apart. I have stayed at other Motel 6 locations, which were alright but this one is probably the worst hotel I have stayed at. Hope they can improve.

Customer service wise it wasn’t too bad but we made it. Two star was the fact of the first lady we seen was extremely rude and impatient and the second lady that we talked to was impatient and rude. The room didn’t look too bad, but the whole rodents and finding rat poop kinda kills it for me

Was refused my 100$ deposit for false claims that I took a towel which I wanted to dispute. Contacted mgmt and left message and no response! Dump conditions. Don’t go there.
