Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests expressing both satisfaction and dissatisfaction. While some guests appreciated the friendly staff, convenient location, and spacious rooms, others were disappointed with the cleanliness, outdated facilities, and lack of hot breakfast options.

We had done the booking for two nights and had called the hotel directly few days before to inform that even though we are paying for two nights, we will check in next day at 11 am, not 3pm at the day of check in. This is because we were going to drive 7 hours, and reaching here due my daughter and is to dress up for UC Davis graduation starring at 2.30 pm. Unfortunately my reservation was canceled and room was given to someone else, with no information or call. The reason we got was that we did not prepay, but how should we know the rules. Anyways, front desk Mary helped us a lot and gave us rooms within half hour after cleaning the rooms. Rooms and amenities were as described though building is old. Great location and plenty of stores around. Will stay again, but will have to be careful of reservation.

It was ok. We’ve stayed here a few times but this time was not as great as it was on past visits
- 4/5
I had to book this from having a horrible experience at another hotel. The booking was seamless, staff were courteous and even smiling as they walked past me in the hall. Clean, security guard was actively patrolling and observing. Would definitely stay here again.

If I had to come up with one thing - it would be location to stores, restaurants, Starbucks. Everything - complete disappointment. Probably the worst place we have stayed! The hotel was filthy and completely outdated. The two bedroom suite was a joke. It was one bedroom with a door (no airconditioning) and the second bed was in the main sitting - just a bed/no couch to sit on. super uncomfortable! The walls were paper thin, so it was loud. The hallways were also smelled like cat pee. We will never be back!!!
- 3/5
The shears had a significant tear and the curtains would not close. More importantly, a facility which seems to want to cater to families and longer term clients had difficulty locating a trolley to accommodate luggage. When asked, they indicated trollies would be parked by the elevator. During my nearly week long stay, that never happened. This was a major inconvenience.

Convenient to where we had to go - rooms were satisfactory- The surrounding areas- the breakfast options were sparse-

We rented room with Kitchen. Many utensils were missing. When you advertise room with kitchen and all utensils you need to make sure all utensils are available.
- 5/5
Excelente servicio personal muy ameno y agradable, instalaciones excelente. Cocina de mucha ayuda a/ c excelente.
- 4/5
This place saved me from staying at a terrible other spot. Nice place full kitchen and amenities, my only thing I would complain about is the spring mattress , other than that everything was awesome.
- 3/5
An armed robbery across the parking lot at Mel's Diner and the parade of homeless through the parking lot is probably not optimal for guest or their belongings. Probably not the hotel's fault but security would probably help.

Yet room cleanliness was OK. We had 3 rooms and all three had not been vacuumed well. My son found a sock and coin change from someone else under his bed. We had a screw left in the carpet. Bathroom tubs were not super clean. If you're needing a less expensive place to stay with medium level of convenience stay here. But not the same quality as 3 star places in other cities.
- 3/5
The location was very convenient. The bed was hard and wrapped in plastic - so quite noisy if you turn in your sleep. Business center isn’t operational. Breakfast was a few items in the fridge that could be microwaved and coffee was empty. They charge $13 for parking in a quasi public lot shared with other businesses that doesn’t have security.

Clean room, front desk was helpful
- 2/5
First room had a broken smoke detector, ants around the windows, stains on the curtains. Were moved to another room. The entire place is run down. Paint chipping, stains, cracked plaster. The separate room in the suite had no air flow. The bathroom did not have a fan. Not a great place to stay.
- 4/5
Decent place to stay the night. Clean and safe area and rooms were comfortable for a short stay.

Clean rooms , yet walls are thin Could hear the conversation from the next room.

When we walked into our room there was a large dead water bug on the floor at the entrance. There were blood stains on the sheets. You could feel the springs on both beds. The room had an electrical problem and the lights kept flickering. My daughter plugged in her phone charger, it sparked so we immediately removed it. When speaking with the desk about the blood nothing was done about it. No room services was even sent that afternoon. We ended up checking out prior to our second day of stay. Also, the WiFi did not work well and was extremely slow. The site only offered to refund the parking charge since we booked with an outside 3rd party, Expedia. This was room 104. I’d never stay here again nor would I recommend.
- 4/5
Convenient location. Close to Sac State, Fair Oaks Blv area, restaurants, grocery Rx within walking distance- fairly quiet. Has plenty of space- separate suite type rooms though cabinets need to be remodeled. Nice kitchenette. Free hotel laundry. TV each room- comfortable beds.
- 5/5
My only issue that I have is that it was impossible to find a handicap spot. There were some spots in the front. I thought were handicapped and I couldn’t believe it that a HVAC truck was taking pup two spots in the front. It wasn’t until it left that I realized it was not taken up two handicap spots. It was taken up two spot that should’ve been handicap spots
- 2/5
I’ve stayed here before and had excellent customer service in the front. They accommodated an early check in for an event we were attending. This time, I was taking my 5 year old to the mermaid swim. I called ahead and front desk told me I could check in no later than 2pm. I got there early just to see if anything was available. The front desk clerk repeatedly said no rooms were available as I watched countless people check in. I eventually had to leave while my husband stayed behind and was able to check in after 3pm. So he missed the event all together! I’m not sure what she had against me, but my daughter got to spend less than an hour at her event. That’s what made me the most upset! I guess it depends on the staff you encounter. Some are great, and some are just mean.

Very Disappointed in this facility. From the pictures on the web it looks like a great place to stay but that's it. First let me say as soon as the elevator opened on the 3rd floor we where hit in the face with the strongest odor of someone smoking pot. We we there for 2 nights and it continued all the time we were there. Said something to the staff and the really weren't interested. Maybe because the facility on the whole smelled like that or they were either used to it or high themselves. Our room was old and the bathroom smelled of mildew. If we could of found somewhere else to stay we would of. The only thing that helped was we were out of the room from morning till night and only used it to sleep there. When we took a shower I but the shower towel inside of the tub and got a towel to stand on when we got out. I booked through Expedia and will be asking for some kind of refund but I doubt I will get it. The parking lot was shared by Mel's Diner (Excellent Food and Service) and was huge. They charged you 15 dollars a night to park there.
- 4/5
Amazing place to stay. So clean, rooms are up kept. Staff is very helpful and polite. If you are looking for a good breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have to pass on this place though. Everything else is 5 stars.
- 3/5
The second room was much better. Really no issues from what I could see. We like this place because of location and look. But over the years it has been declining bad.
- 4/5
some staff rude, no vending machines or way to get bottled water or soft drinks

We arrived to find out they had initiated a fee for parking since we stayed there last. ($15 per nite) We asked to speak w a manager and the front desk staff refused until pushed. No one on staff could reverse the fee but they didnt want to call the manager. Not acceptible. Also, I'm 1000% positive I booked a King bed but we got a queen, accessible. NO vanity space, water all over the floor with a shower, just yuck! Also I wanted a bucket for ice...they don't have them....really??? Just a bag for ice that can then go into the fridge. Also not acceptable. Then the toilet got backed up. Maintence came quickly so that was ok but yuck!!! We will not stay there again, even tho its closest to where family is.

Bed and pillows were excellent!

Overall, the hotel was pretty decent, especially if you aren't looking for anything too luxurious and just for a place to stay. My closet door was broken and couldn't slide to close, but I wasn't planning to use it anyway. The air conditioner is pretty loud, but it does the job.
- 4/5
This is also a pet friendly hotel!! I didn't realize it until we were checking in. When we stayed in another Larkspur Landing, we didn't come across pets.
- 1/5
Everything was sticky. Beds were crinkly.
- 2/5
1. The suite rented to me for a month was not the picture provided my the hotel website. It was old, circa late 1990s-early 2000s. 2. Bathroom was not ADA compliant. Showerhead was 6 feet off the ground and floor was very slippery. 3. Cleanliness: A friend was staying with me and we intended for him to use fold out couch. Absolutely filthy and disgusting. Their attempt to clean it, comical. 4. Kitchen not accessible. 5. Suite run down, carpet torn, filthy. 6. Bed: very uncomfortable. 7. Must “order” room cleaning the day before because same day request does not work as they are too busy. They never clean the room unless you schedule it in advance. 8. Any delivery made to a customer is not reported by front desk. Customer must ask about delivery and go to front desk and pick it up. 9. Breakfast option limited and disappointing at best. The cleaning staff were very nice and accommodating, front desk staff, not so much. Very, very disappointing experience. Will never return nor recommend.

You guys give up such a high rating despicable five hours of sleep the wall on the roof for Safe all might double up to catch a flight. I would never recommend it and you guys should not give that higher rating a Holiday Inn or a immortal sex is better.

I am so grateful for the kindness offered as a result of the passing of our beloved pet during our stay.
- 5/5
Staff was great and accommodated early check in. Room was great too for our little family. Nice location!
- 1/5
Room we booked was not available. We needed a two room suite, and we reserved one with a king bedroom and queen bed living room. At check in there were none of these rooms available. We were given a two room set up, but with a small pull out instead the living room. The mattress was filthy and complete collapsed.
- 2/5
Noisy rooms and could have been cleaned better. I guess it’s an outdated building cause you can hear everything

Clean and safe. Just didn’t like the breakfast.

Great staff that attended to our needs Unfortunately has an issue with another guest smoking pot on one of the floors which smelled up several floors and stirred up my allergies.. Once we reported it, the smell was cleared out and possibly the guest left. We had to report a poor little dog that was left in another room by itself barking all morning. Hopefully the owners came back and tended to the dog. All issues were addressed as the staff moved our room to another floor without the pot issue. Guests were also told they had to smoke outside which obviously doesn’t happen with weed. Go figure. Another small issue was a homeless person snuck into the dining room to eat albeit no issues or disturbances though.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Second time we’ve stayed here and will definitely stay here again
- 4/5
AC worked great! An extra bath towel would be nice and the pillows were not very comfortable but overall nice place and front desk person was exceptional.
- 2/5
I was very disappointed in the condition of my room. The bed and bathroom were clean enough for me to not leave, but the room was dark, dingy and dirty. It smelled like mold and I got some kind of sinus infection from breathing the stale air coming out of the air conditioner. I took pictures of the stained, shredded drapes and the black dirt in the window sill. There was one greasy egg pan and a couple dishes in the kitchen. The continental bkfst consisted of a bowl or bananas, a bowl of oranges, prepackaged waffles and bagels in a frig, and watered down coffee. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. I travel to Sacramento often to visit my children, this was the worst experience Ive ever had.
- 5/5
The property was one that I go to when I need a hotel in the area. It seems like it needs an update and cleaning. Also the property seems to need more security around the BLDG. There seems to be less items for the guests in the breakfast area and strange people wondering around the hallways there.
- 4/5
We did not expected a luxury hotel for sure, it is very old but it's clean.stuff are nice.
- 3/5
Old hotel in desperate need of a facelift. Peeling paint, frayed carpet actually cut myself on a loose carpet tack, weird stale smell in the room. It was okay but not too impressive.
- 3/5
I stayed two nights in April 2026. The staff were very nice and helpful. My original room was next to someone banging on a door, yelling and smoking a cigarette in the hall. Changed room and floor. Next room was very nice with two bedrooms and kitchette. Unfortunately the building while very nice in appearance, was constructed with thin walls and floors.i was awakened every time the person above me walked or moved a chair. So overall, it’s a nice place for the price and I’ll use them again if I need to, but I’m booking a top floor room next time.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay in Sacramento
- 5/5
It was good
- 2/5
The room smells like urine and cigarette. There was no body soap and conditioner and hands towels.
- 4/5
Only two tables for the breakfast area
- 1/5
This was an awful experience. A shirtless man tried to kick in our door at 2:30am. We were inside on the 4th floor, so not easy to get to the room. I had to hold the door shut while my wife had to call 911. No one answered at the front desk. The police came and arrested the guy before he got in, but he was kicking it for a good 15 minutes. Later when checking out, management had no idea that happened to us.
- 5/5
Everything was as expected
- 4/5
Room & location was good, liked the fact there was a CVS really close as well as a diner. Got the double bed suite (i believe it was called that) & the room was great. Will stay again.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was kind and attentive
- 4/5
There was no creamer for the coffee.
- 5/5
Awesome staff and incredibly accommodating. Room was in good condition and our little puppers was treated like royalty.
- 4/5
Stayed here with my sister to help my uncle who lives nearby. Was conveniently located and walking distance to a grocery store, CVS and a few restaurants. Staff were friendly. I used the gym daily, and it could have been cleaner/more towels provided. Breakfast provided had limited options for my dietary needs, but they did have a lot to offer for people who are more flexible. Will probably stay again, next time I am in Sacramento.
- 3/5
The location was good for my purpose in Sacramento. From the outside the hotel looks very nice. The rooms have clearly not been updated in quite some time. Does have a smoke smell in general. All but one staff member I came in contact with were very nice.
- 1/5
Looks are deceiving. They need to update photos. Not a good area. Atmosphere bad
- 5/5
Nice place.
- 3/5
It's a convenient location close to Carmichael and HWY 50, but the neighborhood can be kind of rough--folks who may or may not be staying at the hotel, hanging out in the parking lot, making it dirty, etc. The breakfast is definitely continental and sparse in terms of choice. Rooms looked a little rundown. We didn't have housekeeping come while we were there for five days--didn't know if we had to ask for that or not. We grabbed a couple of bottles of water from the lobby before we left one morning, but the next time we tried to grab waters they said they were charging them to our room and asked for a room number--so I don't know if they were just trying to make sure we were actually staying there or really charging us. But other than that, check in and check out after hours was easy and courteous. Would I stay there again for the price? Probably not.
- 3/5
Front desk staff rude, and total un disregard to my request accommodations
- 3/5
Upon driving up to property. I normally drive around to see any other entrances to get into the hotel because the front parking is packed. Only one entrance at this location. This is my second stay with this hotel but different location. Property doesn’t have balconies which is a plus. Nice that the property had us sign a form detailing our car if anything did happen. The Folsom location didn’t offer that. This hotel seemed popular, seen many people here. Entering the room it was outdated but wasn’t bothering me. Kitchen wasn’t filled with all amenities needed as the Folsom location. The bathroom sink was leaking. If putting toilet paper in toilet it won’t properly flush so had to throw in garbage instead. Lighting was very minimal. And if a room states 5 can be occupied but only have 2 chairs? That’s not fair. Vents were dusty as well as the pictures and bed frame. Found a suspicious candy stuck on the wall. The shower tub floor made noise while stepping on it. The shower head was not clean the shower caddy holding the liquid was not clean. It doesn’t make sense that the hand soap dispenser is right above the electrical outlet. The worst part is the bed! Hard, made noise and uncomfortable. Will not be making a reservation here again.
- 3/5
Pictures of property and rooms are outdated.
- 4/5
This is an older property that definitely shows it age. It is a decent facility for an overnight stay but not much more. The staff was okay, not friendly or mean, just okay.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great service at front desk, rooms are huge and clean.
- 5/5
Clean room. Pleasant staff.
- 5/5
Mary at the front desk and every employee I have met have been kind, conscientious, and ready to help with anything that might come up… this is my go to hotel when I’m in Sacramento.
- 4/5
Staff was courteous.
- 4/5
I checked in early, for me. Staff was very pleasant, and gave me a room only about 10 or 15 feet from the front desk. Although that made me feel safe, it turned out to be a very noisy area. I think next time I will ask for a room on the top floor.
- 3/5
The breakfast buffet was sadly stocked and with minimal options. It reminded me of old Army lodging. Functional but not pretty.
- 3/5
The room was spacious and clean, however at night there was a loud buzzing sound like a generator, the lady at the front desk came up to hear it and couldn’t figure out what it was. The first night I asked for extra blankets, I saw the front desk had a pillow top comforter, which asked if I too could have one for the bed and I was told “no”. She then gave me a really thin cotton type of blanket which was not warm at all.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spotless. The staff was so nice on check-in. Very accommodating when we needed to change rooms because we needed a King bed and didnt realize Accessible rooms only have queen.
- 5/5
Perfecto!
- 5/5
Clean room, super courteous staff. This is my go to hotel in Sacramento.
- 2/5
The staff was great. The hotel needs a lot of work. Updating and cleanliness. The bathroom needed a good cleaning. Everything was quite outdated.

Room was nice & clean an spacious. Always a good experience here.

Everything was ok.
- 1/5
Everything about this place is in need of a deep cleaning and update. If they stop providing crap food for breakfast maybe that wouldn’t have to charge for parking. DO BETTER.
- 3/5
The hotel is quite dated. There was no functional thermostat, a smoke detector from the 80s, and worn out carpet throughout. We also found a pair of men’s underwear on the floor under the coffee table. Someone else’s… so gross. There were also dirty kitchen functions, and the fridge wasn’t bathroom were clean. spoons. It’s old and drabby. Lots of sirens going by, we were there overnight and 3 siren events happened. The front door was locked once. The manager approached us in the parking lot when we arrived as we were walking in the front door and asked us what we were looking for like we were criminals after getting out of our brand new $100k truck and dressed nicely. The coffee maker didn’t work, we called and asked for another, they agreed but never brought it. The room was clean. The price was good.

- 5/5
Probably the best stay I’ve had. Routinely come here. Conveniently near a grocery store and Starbucks. Friendly hotel staff. Good breakfast. Really nothing to complain about at all. The pretty morning staff member behind the front counter who has a nice smile is a highlight.
- 2/5
The property or the room is pretty old. The double suite shared by two people is below average in cleanliness. Dust is visible on all surfaces, hair is in the towel, and crumbs are on the floor. The suite includes an oven, dishwasher, and other appliances, but some are not working. Considering the price we paid for what feels like a 200-year-old property, I expected better cleanliness and more up-to-date equipment. The staff who checked us in were very friendly and respectful.
- 5/5
Great experience and room !
- 4/5
The carpet was old needs an upgrade. The room had food left in microwave and fridge, thats poor attention to detail.
- 3/5
First young lady I encountered at the desk, Eastern European accent, was nasty. She put me in a horrible room on the first floor that I do not believe was clean. In the middle of the night I had to complain about the stomping going on over my head and a different woman at the desk put me on the top floor - thank you again for that. That room was clean and quiet and did not have a rubber sheet on the mattress, the guest one did. The laundry facilities need to be kept cleaner. Not the best neighborhood. Hobos were everywhere and the security guard literally sits out front smoking cigarettes not patrolling anything. Everyone but that first lady and the security guard were reasonable and friendly.
- 4/5
Very courteous. Room very clean. I liked that they had coffee and fruit all the time.

What
- 2/5
Arrived and was giving the incorrect room. So i had to come back downstairs to be told it’s a twenty dollar up grade, which i paid. Had a friend meet me there and she changed and left her clothes in the closet and was told she did not leave anything there. I was up all night with the noise that i woke up and got out of Bed and left at 7am on January first after a night of being out and celebrating.

The hotel dud not gave our reservation, we had to book elsewhere. Later that SAME day a confermationemail was sent to me!
- 5/5
Great value and a super location
- 1/5
Only had one towel. Asked the made for more towels. She said we had to go to the fist floor to get some. The TV, kept having the words not match the picture. You had to unplug it every 10 minutes to reset. The showers still had shampoo on the walls and the soap dispensers were empty. I asked the front desk to have it refilled, but nobody ever can to do it. There was a belt from the former occupants left on a chair. Inside the elevators. People carved graffiti into to signs and walls. This place before Covid was very nice. We stayed multiple times. So disappointed this time. Won’t be back.
- 5/5
Great place clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Room was clean staff was friendly
- 3/5
The free breakfast which I chose this location for was packet oatmeal with no sugar or milk option.
- 2/5
Hotel is very short staffed, which I understand since it was Christmas. However, there were no sheets or blankets on one of the beds. The continental breakfast did not have cereal, fruit, or any other basic standardized, breakfast items. They were several hard individually wrapped bagels, with no cream cheese. Probably one of the worst continental breakfasts I’ve ever seen a hotel offer. I stay at this hotel a few times a year and it has gone from decent to terrible the past two years.
- 3/5
Good value for money. Could be tidier in the hallways and could use a deep cleaning. We find this to be a reliable stay in a convenient location
- 5/5
Room are clean
- 5/5
It's a good place to stay
- 3/5
Room on top was too loud the whole week. Probably the structure of building. Service was great. If staying, recommend the top floor.
- 5/5
Good value, and close to Zocolo and Piatti, both 5star restaurants.
- 5/5
Staff was very capable and pleasant. Breakfast was quick, easy and good.
- 2/5
I was given a room on the top floor which is what I wanted. It had a kitchenette, which was not necessary. The cupboards in kitchenette and bathroom were probably the original from whenever it was built. They were almost falling apart. The room was dingy, the bed was uncomfortable and when I asked for more towels at the laundry room the woman yelled at me that they didn't have any. There so called Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. I wiynever stay there again.
- 4/5
nice but just a dirty area & lots of homeless individuals outside near the hotel
- 2/5
The room itself was pretty nice, but the bed needs to be upgraded immediately in our opinions.
- 5/5
Room was nice.
- 2/5
Room felt very dated and the bed squeaked a lot. Paper thin walls and ceiling.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and helpful
- 5/5
Clean rooms and great staff
- 3/5
They really need to do a deep cleaning. Dropped my eyeglasses behind the nightstand. The dust and gross human hair was thick and as I slipped my hand behind it. I got disgusted with the feel of the long stands, and as I got scared, there were strands of long black hair running through my fingers, I gave up and pulled the nigh stand away from the wall. Ewwww! Do better. A suggestion... each room needs a once a month thorough pull back of furniture and with a damp towel on a broom wipe down. A schedule to deep clean a few rooms a day is manageable. By the end of each month, a noticeable difference. And air filters of the heaters, too.
- 2/5
The shower had ants all over it.
- 5/5
It was a clean room but it was getting old. Time for a re-vamp of the room and bathroom and appliances.

The people below us banged on our ceiling and continuously called the front desk on us for simply walking around our room. If I got up to pee in the middle of the night I had to try to take very slow and careful steps. I told staff about the issue three times and they did not resolve in any way. They should have moved our room or given us some type of compensation for the trouble but did not. They sent a security guard to our room at 3 or 4 in the morning because we got up to walk to the bathroom. Just absolutely ridiculous. Don’t stay here unless you’re as silent as a mouse.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Room was updated with an unpleasant smell. Lobby smelt of chlorine. Seemed like many people staying at the property lived there long term.
- 5/5
Great staff, the rooms were clean and spotless. The overall premise was very clean with very good amenities.
- 2/5
Dark. Noisy refrigerator. Felt old and dated. Bed had some sort of plastic bottom sheet. Ick. Breakfast non existent. Definitely wouldn’t want to have paid the quoted price.
- 3/5
I love the location and pet policy. The rooms are spacious. Unfortunately, the rooms can be dirty. We always check under the bed since we travel with our dog. Our room this time had so much dirt and garbage under the bed. Also, once their “deodorizer” wore off, the bathroom had a strong urine smell. The property is old so perhaps the smell has permeated the drywall and grout but I think it was from spray on the shower curtain.
- 4/5
Two room suite was great, bathroom and shower a little bit out of date. Free breakfast was good would be nice to have a little more variety.
- 5/5
Slept well
- 4/5
Clean, quiet and roomy. The bathroom was a good size, and I liked the toiletries. Full kitchen, and a great price.
- 4/5
Room was comfortable and clean, kitchen amenities were a bonus. Not much of a breakfast but overall an A+.
- 5/5
Very hospitable front desk
- 3/5
Very poor breakfast for the cost, compared to today’s standards.
- 2/5
I am not sure where it was stated when I checked in, but was surprised to be charged $10 per day for parking. This should be clearly stated when booking and at the front desk. Compared to my stay at the same hotel one year ago, the 'free' breakfast was minimal
- 5/5
Air conditioning ease to adjust; parking area needed landscaping cleanup.; bathroom shelving minimal (provided a coffee table for toiletries placment)
- 5/5
Great service and room will be back
- 2/5
So many things. Nearly all of the basics were lacking.
- 2/5
There were ants in our room. We heard some of the cleaning ladies talking about bed bugs. People across from us were blasting music while trying to sleep. They also never came into our room to clean it or give new towels
- 5/5
It was clean enough.
- 5/5
Room is always perfectly clean, front desk person is always nice.
- 5/5
Customer service was top tier
- 3/5
Rooms were clean, a bit outdated though. The receptionist that worked the late shift was really rude. She came across blunt and almost agitated right off the bat. My family arrived around 12am on a Saturday night after a 14hr trip, her service did not make our night any better. The morning after we didn’t see much breakfast available. The area around is really bad, but that’s not on the hotel. However I’d advised leaving important stuff in your car. The security guard was hanging out in the lobby when we arrived and did not see security monitoring the parking lot. 3/5 stay.
- 3/5
staff super friendly and attentive, room could of been cleaner as it had crumbs on the floor and something sticky on the carpet next to the bed, bathroom had lots of hair on the floor. great location though
- 5/5
It was a nice experience.
- 5/5
Air conditioning works well
- 5/5
Loved it
- 4/5
Great housekeeping service
- 3/5
We had ants in the bathroom, no washcloths, slippery bathtub no safety stickers in shower
- 5/5
Saw wild turkeys on the sidewalk by the building 😁
- 3/5
Room was somewhat clean. It was outdated and in need of upgrade. Found a condom wrapper and used tissue in the bedside table drawer. Gross.
- 4/5
I stayed here because I remembered from long past business related stays how lovely the hotel was and especially how comfortable the bed was. The only thing that has changed is that the mattress was just OK, and the pillows were lumpy. That was a major disappointment to me.
- 3/5
Also, it was very difficult to get a hair dryer from the front desk, first trip downstairs i was told you didn't have any, my friend went down and was eventually given one, took over half an hour
- 4/5
The facility overcharged my card and I don’t know why on hotels.com I was supposed to pay $117 and even received my receipt for the same price and 3days later I get charged $127 without any reason so just always check your card people are being dishonest
- 5/5
Close to East Sacramento and Sac State- right off Fair Oaks Blv and Howe but set back a little so it is quiet. You can walk to 2 restaurants and a CVS pharmacy and a nice Raleys grocery. Spacious rooms - an actual suite. Has extra facilities like full refrigerator, guest laundry- nice desk in your room, 2 TVs.
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Enjoy the room, nice size, two separate rooms, full refrigerator, separate guest laundry available, Two TVs, nice desk for working wi-fi that works. Can walk to several restaurants and nice grocery: Raleys plus a CVS without crossing any major streets. Close to Fair Oaks but set back from noise.
- 4/5
Close to family& friends. Nice front desk staff. Key didn’t work, so she fixed the keys went with me to make sure I could get in the second time. Had a nice time during my stay.
- 4/5
The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The facility is dated and somewhat worn but relatively maintained.
- 1/5
The room literally had smoking smell
- 5/5
Room was spacious and had all the appliances of home very home like , will definitely visit in the future, very quiet we like that😊
- 3/5
Towels was hard to come by and didn’t get room serviced tell the 3rd day there
- 4/5
Didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that but there are a couple of restaurants right in the same parking lot and there’s a nearby grocery store across the street. The room and bed we’re comfortable with a few different pillows depending on your level of firmness which I thought was good. I’d stay here again
- 1/5
Needs to be deep cleaned and treated for pests.
- 1/5
The hotel does not look like the images shown on website, the room was disgusting, sheets dirty, smelled. the worst mattress, worst pillows and worst smell.
- 3/5
Staff was nice
- 4/5
I was not able to take a pictures of the studio room but it's a queen size bed, has a mini kitchen which has two burner stove, dishwasher, sink, refrigerator, microwave, a pan, a pot, silverware, plates, bowls, cups and with dishwasher soap. They have a small but nice gym and laundry area for guests to use. Free breakfast are Eggo waffles, muffins, string cheese, fruit cups, yogurt, boiled eggs, cream cheese and bagels (which are all in the fridge). Also coffee, bananas and oranges, sachets of oatmeals and the toaster for you to warm up your bagel. It was a good experience staying in this property especially if you are attending the Aftershock festival. It's conveniently located near Cal expo where the shuttle is to take you to the festival. Parking was free in this property and there is alot of restaurants nearby. Safeway, Raileys, CVS and Starbucks are close by. They do not have a pool ir a hot tub if you will ask. Still a nice place to stay and relax though. We will definitely book again.

- 2/5
Run down with broken tiles, beat up edges, kitchen area needed work and room didn't smell fresh. Breakfast offered stale bagels and no milk for the cereal.
- 2/5
The room
- 5/5
The staff was great and professional, the locations has many qualities to enjoy around the neighborhood and overall it was a pleasant experience.
- 4/5
Kitchen and Bathroom needs upgrades and the refrigerator was very noisy especially at night.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Some of the staff could be more friendly being In the hospitality business
- 2/5
Stayed for a 4 day event in town. Hotel was outdated and dirty. Overpaid for a very low quality hotel. Breakfast was what you would get out of a vending machine. Towels were old and so re-used, that even the clean ones looked dirty and yellow. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash in the room upon check in. The weird lady at the desk didn't make any sense when asking if we wanted to pick a floor and then saying she would put on the 4th for noise?? What?!
- 2/5
Staff was very friendly!! And the breakfast options were decent. However, I didn’t sleep very well during my stay since the walls are terribly thin and I could hear everyone around (including the trash being taken out to the dumpster outside). We had some ants in our room and we asked multiple times for ant traps but they said they would send maintenance, never showed so we used a spray instead. The bathroom doesn’t have a fan/exhaust so when someone takes a hot shower the steam just lingers in there or you could let it into the rest of the room which also didn’t have great air flow (even with the a/c running). Overall, this place was ok. Plenty of parking, conveniently next to a grocery store, CVS, and some food places. It’s also a short drive to CalExpo, which is where we were headed for the weekend.
- 3/5
We loved the location. The staff when we arrived were great and helpful. The night staff was opposite. We reserved 3 rooms queen studio suites. They were just ok. One room had ants another had a toilet that didn't flush and they all 3 had a weird smell and very uncomfortable beds and pillows. The kitchenette feature was great and we stayed for 6 days so it was nice to have a place to cook. Overall it was a decent stay and we would probably stay again.
- 2/5
Room smelled like urine. Room was not clean. Subpar customer service.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were unable to get extra blankets or towels but we were still happy overall with the hotel.
- 3/5
The staff were wonderful. There were some significant issues with our room but the staff did all that they could to remedy the issue.
- 5/5
Clean room, super helpful and nice staff.
- 4/5
As expected.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, And clean laundry room.
- 5/5
Great accommodations at a great rate. My go to place to stay with a one bedroom suite and mini kitchen. I’ve stayed over five times here and just booked to come back at Christmas and got another room for my daughter and granddaughter.
- 2/5
The staff was friendly and helpful, and it's nice having a refrigerator. But the room itself was musty smelling, like old cigarettes (even though it was listed as smoke free). The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress had piling poking up through the very thin, cheap sheets. Very loud most of the night, could hear people talking through the walls and hallway and sounded like stomping but they probably weren't. I've stayed there several times over the years and I have seen a gradual decline in the past few years making this a place I probably will no longer consider in the future.
- 5/5
Really good hotel
- 4/5
Staff helpful
- 4/5
Homeless people in the adjacent parking lot and areas
- 1/5
Horrible service breakfast is always gone within the first 10 to 15 min and it's garbage they charge for parking each night even after how expensive they are
- 3/5
Me and my family stayed here while I went to have a surgery procedure. I stayed for 1 night and my husband and daughter stayed 2. We brought our family dog so we were put in a room that smelled really bad like dog pee. The room was really outdated. Very disappointed.
- 4/5
It is a busy, well maintained hotel. The parking area is well monitored and has cameras. I didn’t use any of the extras except continental breakfast. The whole thing is convenient without being as pricy as other fancy hotels in the area.
- 4/5
The staff was nice and helpful. The property was clean and quiet.
- 3/5
Staff at the front desk was rude to my guest when she arrived and asked for simple directions to the elevator. she is my girlfriend and was coming up to meet me before we went to dinner. staff made her feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
- 4/5
Breakfast was essentially nonexistent at the property.
- 5/5
it was really nice, comfortable, and clean. The staff was helpful and courteous. I left some items behind, and they were found and sent to me. I was very grateful for that.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing!!
- 3/5
Needs some TLC and new beds.
- 5/5
Great rooms!
- 5/5
Close to everything
- 4/5
Staff was really friendly, room was nice, breakfast is continental but room did have a full kitchen if you wanted to cook. A little sketchy at night around the hotel though.
- 2/5
The bed was super uncomfortable, they had landscapers super loud outside at 5:30-6 am I barely slept all night because of the bed. Then to be woken up like that I was furious. I will never stay there again
- 5/5
Staff was great and helpful
- 5/5
The room was great it was nice and quiet the people and staff were all very friendly and with all the amenities it felt like home a little bit
- 5/5
my room was clean and quiet and the price is reasonable. It just happens that this is located basically in a strip mall/Office Park area however it is convenient to getting downtown.
- 5/5
My schedule changed and I needed my room a few hours early and they were able to accommodate without any question
- 3/5
The floor in room was so dirty, I stepped into tub and my footprint were marked as I stepped in. I will never stay at another Larkspur landing again.
- 4/5
The hotel are clean and the room are pretty comfortable. The only downside is the elevator and the hallway is too hot.Overall is ok
- 5/5
Descent place in Sac State area.
- 1/5
I literally feel the mattress wires
- 3/5
no soap in the shower , I ask but they not have it !!
- 3/5
It would have been great if the bathroom & shower had been clean (hair, numerous hairs) all over the shower & sink areas. Also would be great to have towels that hadn’t reached their sell by date.
- 2/5
The room was smelly and the breakfast was cold food only.
- 1/5
We stayed in rm 119 all night we listened to people talking . We didn’t sleep much and the pillows need to be replaced. This was our second time here and it wasn’t like the first . Very disappointed.
- 3/5
The rug hadn't been vacuumed in awhile and the curtains were stuck open allowing the sun in .. the room phone was broken not working at all and the shower was not working...which no one came to fix for me after being told they would
- 5/5
It was quiet and comvenient
- 5/5
Quick checkin , essy
- 4/5
Would definitely come again
- 5/5
There are 2 restaurants very close to this hotel. One is a Mel's Diner and one other. There is a supermarket, a little further away;but walking distance-Raleys. It is in close proximity to the major highways I 80 and I 50. The hotel is clean abd comfortable. A great place to stay.
- 4/5
My stay was great! nice friendly staff, they allowed early check in however the only mishap was I forgot some important papers in the drawer of my room along with 2 camera discs and I'm 100 percent positive I left it there and no one turned them in :(
- 3/5
The upkeep of the hotel is bad. The bed was damp and the furniture was damaged throughout the whole room. And you could smell the mildew.
- 5/5
Good hotel for the area.
- 3/5
Literal bugs on the wall. When I told staff they said “ok I’ll tell them”. Breakfast is microwaveable burritos and oatmeal. Super expensive for what it was and an additional deposit after paying in full.
- 5/5
All gud
- 4/5
Very clean and friendly staff
- 2/5
If you want rude employees who hold towel hostage until you carry your dirty ones to the front desk and swap them one for one. The free breakfast is a kid sized yogurt, a piece of fruit, and a 4oz cranberry juice cup shouldn’t be considered any sort of breakfast. For the cost of the room I would have expected more. The surrounding area is full of homeless and trash. I would have stayed somewhere else had I known what I was in for.
- 2/5
Bed was the hardest and worst ever. Surfaces in the room were dirty and stained. Pillow was awful. Whole property was tired and dingy. Definitely will never stay there again.
- 1/5
Very noisy and no soap in the bathroom. Will not book again.
- 4/5
I enjoyed how spacious my room was, it had a queen bed and king bed. The king side bed had it's own room with a TV. However, my bathroom trash can was full, missing silverware, stain in tub with a cracka and missing don't disturb sign. The property needs to replace their carpet, it is damaged and has an odor in the hallway. I appreciate how the staff was polite and resolved the issues of my room promptly
- 1/5
I was too scared to walk my dog around the neighborhood. There was trash all over the surrounding areas. People sitting in their car in the parking lot brushing their teeth. People smoking right by the lobby front door where it clearly said no smoking.
- 4/5
The only thing I was uncomfortable about was the bathroom smells like urine. I could smell it out in the rest of the suite if it was not close.
- 4/5
It was a nice and quite stay.
- 3/5
The little kitchen was great. There was only one hand towel and no wash clothes. There were loud people working in the eating area at 3am that woke us up. The breakfast was terrible. We only had 1 pillow each and they were old and not very supportive. The TV audio was completey off. The front desk lady was very nice though.
- 3/5
Only one side of the bed had USB ports. Bed was ok. Everything in the room was dated. Furniture, fridge, shower bathroom. Functional but very dingy. The iron and ironing board was falling apart. The picture online of the lobby and the outside of the property does not mirror the rooms.
- 4/5
The staff was helpful and the property was clean and easily accessible. The rooms were slightly dated but, great for the price. The location was great since we were there for CSU Sacramento literally around the corner.
- 3/5
This place has the potential to be a very good hotel but somewhere along the way someone stopped caring and just let the place be. The rooms need a remodel, as the cabinets were old, chipping, discolored, and had ants all over the place, the beds were uncomfortable and the floors are gross. Over all the location of this hotel is fantastic and it would be great to see it become better
- 4/5
The hotel is very nice. Quiet and close to amenities. The bed was very comfortablen and there were good options for breakfast.
- 4/5
Great location for my needs.
- 5/5
Convenient and affordable for the short time to book it. Good distribution of the rooms, the only improvement I suggest is the cleanliness and supplies
- 1/5
No good experient
- 1/5
Your room physically before you book Because the photos are deceiving
- 4/5
. Phone in room had no explanation about what to dial to get to front desk. . No explanation about how to work A/C - that controls on wall are non-functional. . No explanation about what kitchen utensils are provided, (pots and pans, toaster, paper towers, etc.
- 3/5
Area seem un safe.
- 1/5
There was no remote in spare bedroom suite and there was no cable on either of the tvs after retrieving a remote. Had to switch room at midnight. With 4 small children remind you.
- 5/5
Affordable stay in Sacramento with fridge and cooktop.
- 3/5
Not the cleanest room. The AC unit was noisy. It was on a sensor so in the middle of the night it got hot and was not turning on. I had to get up and turn it on to cool the room. I had to stay another night on my trip and did not stay here again.
- 4/5
Great location for overnite work meetings
- 3/5
Good location, staff was fine, but the condition of the room was very dated. The second we walked in the entire room smelled similar to that of a public bathroom. The interior was clean enough but very dated unfortunately.
- 5/5
The front desk is amazing I forgot to get her name I don’t want to sound rude but she is a color lady she is amazing she knows how to treat customers she always smiles and does her best to make you welcome
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
excellent customer service, somewhat noisy room environment outside the first-floor window.
- 5/5
My stay at the hotel was great. I really appreciate and enjoy the fact that there was a full refrigerator as well as a little kitchenette. It gave me a home away from home feel. I was in the 1 bedroom suite so there was separation between the beds. The only downside is that the bedroom was not properly cleaned. My daughter saw chicken bones and dipping sauce under the bed. Outside of that the sat was great. They offer tea and coffee 24hours which I loved. And they off some items for breakfast. Overall we had a great stay.
- 5/5
My weekly go to for a getaway with my gf, and it never disappoints.
- 3/5
Room was ok, very beat up. Cabinet doors are very messed up. Bathtub was so stained and dirty. I’m not sure if it’s ever been cleaned. The hallway was very hot and had the worst smell I have ever smelt!!!!!
- 4/5
It's clean and convenient
- 5/5
The lady who checked me in was wonderful and reassured me my very big Great Dane was welcomed and made sure we were on the ground floor. She was friendly, informative and very helpful.
- 4/5
Easy access but parking is paid.
- 3/5
Although hospitality service was by request (which is fine as I didn't need a full room cleaning) I did ask several times for clean towels. Twice they said they didn't have any and a third time I was told they would be brought to my room while I was out and they never were. The fourth time I asked, I was brought two towels, one of which still looked dirty so I didn't use. Also, I was disappointed that the air conditioning was only in the main living area, not in the bedroom. There was a standing fan, but the only place to plug it in was by unplugging the TV.
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Everyone was top notch. They made my stay exceptional.
- 1/5
The room had 2 tiny towels for bath towels, one wash cloth, bugs in the bathroom, the cabinets throughout look chewed and peeling, the curtins in both rooms had tears in them, the carpet had tears in it, the dishwasher has mold in the bottom growing, the refrigerator smelled sour, the beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. At check out nobody asked how the stay was and she was working the desk, grabbing toilet paper, and doing the "breakfast" all by herself. She was ran ragged. I emailed corporate, but nobody even acknowledged me.
- 5/5
I am here every month for UCDavis treatment and they always put me on the top floor and are very caring and helpful....I have not met one staff member who was not nice and helpful....that is rare....There is a Raley's across the street walking distance and a Mel's Diner for breakfast. They do not have a swimming pool but that's okay.
- 5/5
Everything was great...
- 5/5
Everything was just great...
- 5/5
Great staff, close to CSUS
- 5/5
Conveniently located near Sac State campus.
- 5/5
Overall the place was very nice. My room could use a little refreshing, including drapes. The tub/shower was a retrofit and made a lot of creaking noise. Room was otherwise very nice with a big fridge, micro, kitchenette, dishes, etc. Very quiet and comfortable. Be careful - their extra $10/night parking fee isn't well disclosed.
- 4/5
It's all Good
- 2/5
The breakfast was not provided despite being advertised. Parking fees per night was included at the front desk even though no description on Expedia website.
- 3/5
it was old need to be updated a little the breakfast was not that good
- 5/5
Beautiful unit. Great location.
- 5/5
It was good
- 4/5
Location met by needs. There were sub unusual characters around the area
- 5/5
The room is a great size! Everything was clean and the attendant super friendly! I highly recommend
- 3/5
The hotel must be going through a renovation right now because my room didn’t quite look like the photos. In the photos the rooms look crisp and new. My room was a bit older and dated. But if all the rooms are soon going to be like the photos, that’ll look nice! Breakfast was all cold items (with toaster and microwave to warm them up). Sometimes the breakfast had a number of things to choose from. One day the only option was pre-packaged bagel with peanut butter or cream cheese (they explained the delivery truck hadn’t arrived). Location was pretty good, and there was a bus stop in either direction with service about every 15 minutes, so it was easy to get around the city from this spot. If I knew when all the rooms would be done with the renovation, at that point I’d probably come and stay here again.
- 5/5
Wonderful, had a bad experience at my initial booking, Larkspur saved the day. I would stay over and over again. Very friendly frint desk. The only dark spot was the homeless community, which i witnessed Larkspur handle with class.
- 5/5
Es bueno y barato un poco pasado de moda
- 5/5
The price was great and accommodated our needs. There were some shady characters hanging around, which didn't entirely make us feel safe.
- 1/5
Sheets pillows unwashed
- 4/5
Maids forgot to put soap in soap container on shower wall
- 5/5
It’s in a convenient location and it has a nice bed in the room and it’s nice to have a small kitchen in the room as well.
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
When trying to alleviate in photo from the outside CTV camera (LiveVeiw). However he did not offer any photos from the hotel's camera footage. I truly believed that my experience was discrimatory business practices from Larksprur Landing Hotel management (Ty).
- 4/5
Nothing unique. Clean and comfortable. Tub/shower combo floor squeaked while moving around on it. Breakfast offerings limited, at best. Staff very friendly.
- 2/5
The continental breakfast had very few choices. Coffee was lukewarm. The bathroom had no exhaust fan. Although there were 3 of us there was only 2 sets of towels. The room key(card) was very
- 5/5
From the moment I arrived I was very impressed. The staff was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by the room. Was not expecting a full kitchen. Though it was a great value and very spacious for myself. The AC was excellent as I am a hot sleeper usually. I didn’t have any issues during my stay and I will definitely stay there again. Great location with a few stores and food places nearby.
- 5/5
I appreciated the friendliness, location. near diners and doctor’s offices and contnenty breakfast. The suite room was clean comfortable and loved the shower.
- 1/5
On my reservation through Expedia, it said that the purchase was at the discretion of the hotel in terms of a refund. A week though the stay, I called the front desk and left a message for the manager in regards to the refund. However the manager never called me back. I contacted expedia, and they said they would call the hotel and take care of everything. However, after 4 days, they told me the hotel declined the refund. Overall, this hotel is dated and would not recommend staying here. The breakfast option in the morning is terrible (garbage selection with some watered down coffee), the gym is small, dirty and disgusting, my 4th floor often smelled of weed and smoke, and the individual rooms are small and dusty. Overall would rate this hotel a 0/10
- 2/5
Beautiful exterior as well as elegant quint check in desk area. Desk clerk is super friendly. The room had the very basic necessities. The following could be improved (note we had a handicap equipped room as our reserved room was not available upon check in): stale smell and a bit of urine smell, no shampoo, bedroom light switch doesn’t work but bed side lamps do if you can find your way, bed comfort level at a 5out of ten as it felt like there were plastic protectors under the sheets. We checked in late and checked out early as we were in the area for a funeral. Continental breakfast was microwave ready essentials, prepackaged hard boil eggs, cereal, oatmeal packets, fruit, etc. Place was okay.
- 5/5
Nothing like sleeping in your own bed but this is next best.
- 2/5
It was very disappointing the carpets needed a deep cleaning. There was ants in the bathroom and the security in the parking lot did not seem very attentive. it was good enough for a one night stay.
- 5/5
Great hotel everyone is so nice .
- 5/5
Clean and effiecent.
- 2/5
Some of the management was very rude and inconsiderate
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and professional. Very clean inside and outside. Only complaint I have is they did not have any extra blankets or linens when we requested some at night.
- 2/5
This is a two star property at best. The bathroom sink was stained and scratched. The vanity looked like it had been badly water damaged. The decor and carpet were dated. Breakfast consisted of oatmeal, coffee/tea and prepackaged snacks in a refrigerator: Eggo, bagel, juice, milk and fruit. There was a police surveillance trailer in the parking lot and a nighttime security guard. The area was generally quiet except for the 5 am trash truck emptying the dumpster. I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Comparing this with the Roseville location, the rooms here are smaller and the beds are not as nice. I must have gotten an accessible room because there was a gigantic bathroom door in the middle of the room that awkwardly opened inches from the bed. The mattress was ultra soft, which was not very comfortable, but I'm guessing that goes along with the wheelchair accessible bathroom for someone who needs that sort of thing, and I would have rather had a regular studio room with a firm mattress and a normal bathroom door. I was surprised to find the bedroom window unlocked, so anyone could have crawled into the room at any time if I hadn't checked it. I will probably try a different hotel next week when I am back in downtown Sac. If I return to this location I will request a second floor room so that the window is not a concern and make sure it's not an accessible room.

The place is really good but I didn’t get my money back for the extra day I didn’t stay
- 4/5
Love the all suites! We only stay in one bedroom suite hotels so this is perfect for us! The area for this hotel is a bit dark after the sun goes down so you need to be very aware of your surroundings! Awesome staff!!!! Thanks
- 1/5
I have tried calling them five times cannot leave a message or get anyone on the phone. Avoid this place like the plague.
- 5/5
Dated for sure but not expensive. TV’s didn’t work. Sleeper sofa mattress had a big stain no sheets. But Quiet with friendly staff.
- 2/5
they do not have good breakfast and toallas
- 3/5
Phone in our room was getting calls for the front desk
- 4/5
We have stayed here for years, it is always clean and the staff are friendly and so accommodating. We did have noisy neighbors this time. However, they did quiet down after 11pm.
- 5/5
It was an ok stay at the hotel. The problem was the other room didn’t have air conditioning in it. It was way too hot. They did provide a fan, but it was outdated and not efficient enough. They need to update their rooms and update any fans or equipment they have. The only part that was the best was the price was lower than other area hotels.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Central location to CSUS and plenty of dining options nearby. Great staff and spacious rooms.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and accommodations. Good location and several decent Ning options nearby.
- 5/5
Love the Larkspur by CSUS. A home away from home while visiting our CSUS student. Centrally located and close to lots of food options.
- 4/5
Room is dated, very basic furnishings. Room is clean enough that I felt comfortable staying there, but I would not want to stay for an extended time. It doesn’t feel like it’s freshly clean. It was nice to have the double suite with two sleeping areas. The king size bed in room 242 is not secure. When I sat on the end of the bed, it nearly tilt it over on me. It is not securely bolted down. The floors in the elevators were quite dirty. If you need a relatively clean, conveniently located place for a very short stay, this hotel will serve you.
- 4/5
Convenient location with walking access to restaurants, shops, and Sac State University. The property is showing its age and needs an update; however, everything in the room and the common area worked fine. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
- 3/5
not the best experience. The room was missing basic things like a blow dryer or a phone that worked and things were dirty. The place felt dirty, old and rundown, but what pushed me over was a $10 charge a day for parking in an open parking lot without SECURITY. No other hotels like this charge for parking so I would not stay here again just for the principle of it.
- 3/5
Breakfast was just some items in a refrigerator. Bottled water for three dollars. Room was not cleaned. That might be the norm in California.
- 1/5
Prevously booked reservation refused along with the toilet in the lobby at 1am.
- 5/5
This was the highlight of our tip. From the time we walkin to the time we left... the staff was amazing! Room amenities were good
- 5/5
Room was nice, staff was wonderful. Lots of options for eating, parking is easy.
- 4/5
It was fine - a bit cold, no bed blanket just a sheet like thingy - didn’t look like any housekeeping staff were still up
- 5/5
Larkspur my go to and never fails.. love that place in all city’s so far
- 5/5
Cleaness
- 4/5
clean and nice. There's just a weird smell when we got in.
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming
- 5/5
Perfect spot for work
- 2/5
The property location is great. The room was clean but dingy and showing wear and tear everywhere with a musty odor which smelled like old cigarettes. The tile in the entry is cracked and the cupboards and kitchen counter are chipped. The bed was uncomfortable, and had a plastic mattress cover directly under the sheet. The pillows were old and clumpy.
- 5/5
All the staff that we encountered were kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Was great! Very friendly staff. No issues.
- 4/5
The breakfast was just a bunch of individually wrapped items, including hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, yogurt, juice cups, and a banana.
- 2/5
This hotel has declined in service.
- 4/5
Central to our travel destinations. Very quiet and it sits back from busy streets.
- 3/5
Everything from the outside looked great and then we checked in. The king size bed must have been on a queen size frame. If you sat at the foot of the bed, it was like a teeter-totter. There was a half finished water bottle on the floor behind the bedroom door. Lastly, nothing like being in the shower and the body wash dispenser is broken.
- 3/5
It was mid at best. Plus the front desk receptionist left her post and we had to wait for her to get in while a crazy homeless guy was in the area.
- 5/5
Just quick rest stop same day departure.
- 5/5
A very nice and peaceful stay
- 5/5
It was upscale, yet cozy. Plenty of parking. The room was so nice that I wanted to stay and read a book. Close to freeway for visiting family.
- 3/5
By far the employees were very nice and had great customer service. The hotel was clean but aged. The room we stayed it was decent, again clean but definitely aged.
- 1/5
Bugs everywhere in the room, all dispensers empty, couldn’t even get towels for our bedroom due to staff not getting to washing any. Need I say more.
- 3/5
Room was ok for one night stay. Not a fancy place but basic necessities met. Complimentary breakfast had good coffee and quick breakfast choices.
- 5/5
In a quiet neighborhood away from the busy city. Easy access to the city and all it has to offer. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.
- 4/5
The place needed to be refurbished with paint and upgrades furniture
- 1/5
The picture looked nothing like the room that we got very disappointing
- 4/5
Rooms look old and dated. Staff very friendly.
- 5/5
Really nice place
- 3/5
I liked that there was a Starbucks and a CVS and various dining options either adjacent to the property or just across the street. I also liked that there was an actual refrigerator and stove as well as microwave and coffee maker, although I did not use those features. I did use the fitness room, which was very small but clean. But overall, the property has seen better days and is in need of an update. My room was either too hot or too cold, there weren’t USB ports, and the outlets were sort of inconveniently located. It was OK, but looked a little tired. The bed was comfortable enough, but I didn’t love the bedding. My biggest complaint overall was that they do not have water available except water bottles to buy for three dollars each, which I found ridiculous. Why don’t they just have filtered water in the lobby? A place that serves continental breakfast should be able to provide water for its guests.
- 5/5
Checked out yesterday. We choose this hotel every year due to its proximity to Cal State Sacramento. Found it improved over last two years.
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
The location is great for us to visit family not to mention so close to Mels Diner across the parking lot. the hotel was quiet and very comfortable.
- 4/5
Very comfortable stay; safe.
- 3/5
Ok for the price, although I went through expedia. Staff was very friendly. I see a lot of potential there.
- 4/5
I stay frequent due to the price… but it is prettt noisy.
- 4/5
Overall a good place to stay. We did have an extremely noisy refrigerator in our suite and that made it difficult for the person in the main room to sleep. I do suggest replacing noisy fridges.
- 2/5
I won't be back. Pluses - Nice and helpful staff; dated but clean; Comfortable bed; quiet surrounding block, with groceries, Starbucks and 1 or 2 okay restaurants within walking distance. Negatives - horrible cell service both in my 2nd floor room & in the parking lot. Really not reliable enough to make a personal call let alone a business call. Wi-fi has zero security. Fee for daily parking and nightly pet charge isn't very transparent when making reservation. For the price I'll look elsewhere.
- 4/5
The hotel and staff were great but the parking lot was a little sketchy. It was just an overnight stay for us.
- 5/5
Good.
- 3/5
The hotel was nice especially for the price. Checking in staff as well as checkout staff were all very nice. We had to spend two days in Sacramento as my husband was having procedures done at UC Davis. Prior to leaving at 6 AM in the morning we let the front desk know that we would like our bedsheets changed and some fresh towels because they’re suites unless you request your room to be cleaned they won’t do it. I was looking forward after a long day getting back to our room and being able to relax. we walked in and nothing had been cleaned. I went to the front desk and the guy that was working was super nice and he did apologized. He gave me fresh sheets and towels, and I made the bed myself( housekeepers loss. I had left a nice tip on the pillow) hand soap container in the bathroom as well as the body wash in the shower were completely empty on arrival. I notified the front desk and they were very quick to take care of the issue and fill them up.The first morning the continental breakfast had blueberry muffins, string cheese, some frozen breakfast sandwiches, which was perfect for us just to grab a snack before we head off for the hospital. I was looking forward to doing it again the next day but at 7 AM all that was in the refrigerator was some breakfast sandwiches, milk and fresh oranges so that was a little disappointing. There are a number of restaurants in walking distance that were very convenient and the food was good too. I would stay again if we have to go back.
- 4/5
Great place to stay for a night
- 5/5
Love staying here.
- 4/5
Not too bad
- 4/5
Friendly and professional staff
- 5/5
I was in town for a quick doctor’s appointment and stayed here overnight. I’m from out of town, so it was great that the hotel was easy to find and really close to where I needed to be. The place was clean, felt safe, and the staff were super friendly. I liked that the room had a separate space to relax—it made the short stay more comfortable. Would stay here again if I’m back in the area.
- 2/5
Not sure who wrote all of the exceptional reviews but it was far from it. I live 15 minutes from here. Decided to have a little R&R and rented the room last minute. I figured I would go to Home Goods, Marshalls, and Burlington and do some shopping. Come back and relax and just enjoy the night alone. Well, when I first arrived the hotel didn't look so bad. Clerk at the front desk was kind. Let her know I was there for a little "me time!" I went up to the 2nd floor and when I opened the door to the room I was not impressed. The first thing that stood out was the smell. It smelled like someone had smoked cigarettes in there 20 years ago and the lingering nicotine was just painted over on the walls. They looked dingy and the yellow and olive color made it worse. Same with bathroom, it was old, the cabinets were old and chipped pressboard, the stove must be from the 60's. NO WAY I would use anything from the kitchen. Did my normal "bed bug check" by pulling back the sheets and looking. Between the nightstand and the bed, there was so much dust and looked like a few pieces of cat food, the liner for the box spring was ripped and hanging from the bottom. Looking in the bathroom, there were old cigarette burns on the sink, at least 4 I saw. I thought to myself, I don't even wanna stand in that shower or wall soaps.I watched tv before I left to Marshall's. I was gonna grab toiletries to use as well as my own towel. I decided this place gives me anxiety and went home! Hyatt next time!
- 3/5
The lobby and entryway were nice, and the staff at the front desk were very friendly. The location of the hotel was great. Plenty of restaurants and a grocery store are within a short walking distance. Price for the room was okay, but it went downhill from there. Hallway near my room smelled like an ashtray (room did not), The furniture (couch, chair, and bed) was very firm. The only air conditioner in the room was in the living room and the cool air struggled to find its way to the bedroom. On a side note, don’t sit on the end of the bed, you’ll end up on the floor.
- 4/5
Also, I have not received a receipt showing what I paid for the room. I asked for one before I left but was told I would get an email from Expedia because that is who I booked the room from. Would be nice to be able to get a paper receipt upon request.
- 3/5
-okay hotel to sleep and move out
- 3/5
Good place to get some rest.
- 3/5
When I went to the front desk around 9:30 a.m., Francesca was working. She didn’t greet me and asked what I wanted. I explained the reservation was extended the night before and I just needed to pay. She couldn’t find the reservation at first, then located it without acknowledging the mistake. She informed me I had to pay the deposit again, even though I had been told otherwise. I asked to speak with a manager, and she refused. I asked to call the manager, and she refused again. I said we would just leave, and suddenly she said she didn’t need to charge the deposit. I asked for something in writing to confirm and she refused. I told her I’d come back later to ask for it, and only then did she print something—at first blank, then finally corrected. I’m disappointed. The hotel itself is lovely, but I don’t enjoy being treated rudely or talked down to when I’m a paying guest. I probably won’t return, simply because I don’t want to be bullied while on vacation.
- 5/5
Excellent Value, nice property, and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
I think if this place was updated completely, it could be a 5 star place. Each room has a kitchen and a decent sized bathrooms. But its a well worn hotel. The management took care of me when I needed help. So no issues there. Breakfast was alright, nothing special.
- 3/5
Staff is great. The property is a little older so the condition isn’t the greatest but they seem to try and keep it clean.
- 4/5
The breakfast is "grab and go" so like microwave burritos and prepackaged hardboiled eggs. Not what I was expecting but theres a Starbucks right there you can walk too and Mel's is in the same parking lot. Appreciated all the security in the parking lot.
- 5/5
Very nice suites and we have everying that is needed in the room
- 3/5
Older property, but well maintained. Breakfast was... well... limited lol
- 4/5
The building and my room are older but clean. A faint musty smell, but my trusty Lysol (my must have!). Best part is my room did have a full kitchen, too bad I wasn't there long enough to utilize it.
- 5/5
Decent area
- 4/5
Room was large with beds in separated rooms which was nice, each with own TV. Had nice little kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. Trim needs some updating in kitchen area. Lighting and heating not of highest quality . Surrounding area offers everything you could want, many restaurants. grocery, gas stations yet set back from road so relatively quiet.
- 2/5
The TV did not work
- 4/5
Was good location for Sac state stay.
- 3/5
comfortable bed, conditioner was empty.
- 4/5
Didn't like to pay extra for parking
- 5/5
It’s a convenient location for me and it’s very easy to use as a place to stay.
- 5/5
I feel safe and everything I needed was a walking distance. Its also near by Sac state which is a plus for me. I will definitely stay here the next time in I'm in town
- 3/5
Stingy with breakfast. Boring breakfast. Didn’t change in three days.
- 5/5
I appreciate how there are several dining areas walking distance from the hotel. Thank you so much, the room looks in excellent condition!!
- 4/5
I really enjoyed the layout of the room with full kitchen and workspace. I thought it was good quality for the price. The main room was large and even has a second bedroom. The only negative was there breakfast was very sparse and they did not have a vending machine or snack area set up. Location was great right next to a market.
- 5/5
Everyone enjoyed their stay friendly staff and family environment
- 2/5
When I first checked in was placed in a room that someone else was currently staying in, had to get my keycard check twice at the front desk because it wouldn't work for my room a couple times early morning and the next day before checking out. Also didn't like how long it took room keeping to get to my room, i understand they're busy but we asked at 10am for service and was gone all day and didn't get house keeping until 3:30pm
- 4/5
Convenient location to where I was conducting business over the weekend
- 5/5
I will most definitely be coming back to this hotel. Very easy to check in. I was pleased with the amenities they provided.
- 2/5
The hotel has gone downhill since I last stayed here. The curtains were torn and didn't close correctly. The rooms and beds are really old looking.
- 5/5
Thanks everything.
- 5/5
It's a nice place. Nice generally well equipped room. Minor oversights, such as empty dispenser and no sugar for the coffee, which I'm sure would have been remedied had I called the office. I just let them know when I checked out. Otherwise no complaints.
- 3/5
The room was not cleaned well. Trash can was still full. Dirty bathroom.
- 5/5
friendly staff
- 1/5
There's no breakfast it's only paking stuff
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I will definitely come back for a staycation. It was really clean, the shower water was HOT, and the bed was comfortable. Plus it was in a quiet area.
- 2/5
Very outdated and dirty. Needs a renovation.
- 1/5
The first thing that hits you is the smell of smoke EVERYWHERE. When I checked in I went to my room and it smelled so heavily of cigarette smoke that it triggered an asthma coughing fit. I went downstairs and asked for a nonsmoking room - very much to the staff's credit they moved with no issue! That said, I was told every room is a nonsmoking room. The second room also smelled of cigarette smoke but not nearly as badly. Cleanliness was an issue i and one of colleagues found hair in the shower. My other colleague found Valentines balloons and decorations shoved under her bed - we were there about a month after V-Day, which tells me no one properly vacuumed in all that time. My sheets, while dry had a weirdly damp and slightly moldy smell. NO DRINKING WATER - Not in the room, not at the breakfast bar, not in the gym, not at the front desk. Finally they only do housekeeping service upon request - which may account for the state of our rooms...
- 4/5
Convenient for us since we are out of town visitors.
- 3/5
Room was not clean. Food on backsplash of kitchen. Old scrapped up pots and pans. Bed creaked, floor of shower squeaked, refrigerator was extremely noisy at night.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Breakfast was a joke. Weird people loitering around but parking security guard was a plus to have.
- 3/5
They do not do breakfast and to claim they do is ridiculous and was a bit frustrating. I thought we would have breakfast every morning but NO and I had to figure out breakfast everyday, disappointing.
- 3/5
The place is very nice, clean and very friendly staff. The dispensers in the shower were empty, the “continental breakfast “ was far from breakfast, it was more camping style. There is a refrigerator with little packed waffles, milk, baffles, apple juice. There were two bananas 3 oranges no spoons(we had to use the ones from the room). They could be saving on something else
- 5/5
Very much enjoyed our stay. We will stay there again next time visiting the Sacramento area.
- 5/5
Accommodations were fine. Breakfast was okay.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 2/5
When I checked in, I reported that the bed was in horrible condition & that I had bough food and fridge was not working. I was told they were booked and couple move me. I asked for extra blankets. I was told someone would follow up. Maintenance didn’t call until after 1pm the next day. I had to follow up with the front desk and they offered a bucket to put ice in for my food. Still was not offered a different room. Upstairs neighbors banged all night and there wasn’t any staff to report to. This experience was definitely not worth my money to be honest.
- 4/5
After several searches for a moderate costing hotel that accepts dogs over 35lbs (daughters dog is 67lbs), found this hotel. Reading reviews was a little nervous about the condition and people living there. Turns out, not near as bad as reviews I read. Yes, rooms need some TLC and deep cleaning but for the price and considering they allow larger dogs, Im not complaining. Breakfast was different, grab bagels, waffle or boiled eggs out of refrigerator and heat up..again not a big deal. Hotel staff was very friendly and much more than others Ive stayed in..including the security guard who helped us figure out parking since the car club met at the bar in same parking lot took many of the spaces. I will be back with the dogs since the location was convenient for our needs. Felt safe and clean enough.
- 1/5
Fire alarm went off at 4 am and had to wait out in the cold for a hour and then they charged me a extra 10 bucks just for a few towels on the ground, definitely not honorable establishment and wouldn’t recommend
- 1/5
It was awful hotel.People was so noisy and I couldn’t sleep all night. The shower was dirty.
- 2/5
Everything was okay besides my room had a harsh smell by the bathroom. A musty smell was not any good .
- 4/5
The hotel felt a little sketch pulling up and walking through the hallways. It smelled weird in some places. Definitely needs more upgrades. I travel alot for work and felt like this was on the lower end. The bathroom needed a fan because when I opened the door after a shower the fire alarm started to go off.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Will return.
- 2/5
There is no bottled water available for purchase in the entire hotel. I don’t want to drive to CVS at 9 pm for a bottle of water. Very inconvenient and something I would expect.
- 4/5
typical and plentiful. A few more tables should be added to dinning area. We slept with window open which we enjoy doing, some parking lot noise. Walking distance to CVS and Mel's Diner -convenient. The only reason I didn't rate this Hotel higher is because we had cookies for Valentines Day's and there was an Army of Ants that contaminated them.
- 1/5
Nothing
- 3/5
Place has gone a bit down hill over the last couple years
- 4/5
Good.
