We enjoyed our stay in Salem.

Good central location. Restaurant on site as well as many others nearby. About a block from the Elsinor theater.

The bed was extra comfortable. The hotel was centrally located near Riverfront park and downtown Salem.

Everything was amazing. The restaurant staff was slightly lacking, but the food was absolutely delicious. The check-in staff was efficient and kind. The breakfast staff was wonderful. The cleaning crew was very courteous.

Room was excellent and food at Bentleys was also excellent. Breakfast also was great.

This was a very nice stay. Everything was clean and well maintained, plus the free parking is nice. However, the property advertises a full, hot, chef-prepared breakfast as a main draw, but what they actually have is identical to a continental breakfast at a chain hotel, so that was a little disappointing.

The wifi was fast. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good.

Stay was nice and convenient to the Willamette campus. Nice bar and free breakfast. They do not provide daily cleaning service. Free parking under the building. overall a good stay

The bed was like a rock and the breakfast was awful.

Very noisy room next to busy road. Breakfast variety was good for a hotel buffet but certainly didn’t seem “chef” prepared like touted.

The breakfast menu was a bit lomited but hot and frsh. The hot tub was hot and relaxing but the condition of the pool and hdot tub was a bitnlacking, algae lined walls etc.

The hotel was nice. The room was very spacious. The building was remodeled into a hotel as far as I understood. Lots of historic items, furniture, and photos. The only drawback was a missing ottoman and a tea tray which was shown in the image. But the front desk was helpful and they arranged for a small table. The breakfast spread was huge and every item was tasty. Parking was also easy and since it’s underground, I felt quite safe.

GREAT place to stay in downtown Salem, in fact, the only place I would want to stay. Kiru was great at giving us directions, Reese with handling our checkout, and the nighttime security guard was great at helping me feel safe when I stepped outside for a late night uber delivery.

It's located in Historic downtown Salem and there are so many shops and great restaurants within easy walking distance. If I find myself visiting Salem again, i will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was a bit more firm than we like but we would stay there again.

The hotel is centrally located and that's its best feature. It was clean, but dated and tacky.

Staff was friendly. Room was decent but alittle pricey for what you got. Breakfast was very disappointing especially because the front staff expressed how great it was but as a chef it was very poorly executed and we had to wait multiple times to have items brought out.

The room was well laid out with adequate amenities. The staff was more than friendly and Bentley’s produced a wonderful lunch. We have no issue with the hotel, just with the City of Salem. As a state capital it is an embarrassment. Dirty, disorganized, unfriendly and more interested in it’s ultra-liberal political agenda than it residents or visitors. The residents that visited the so-called high end restaurant at the hotel next door we ill dressed, ill kept and looked totally unprofessional. It appears the city, and therefore the local hotels, have lost any class they once had. If you must visit Salem, I would recommend the Grand Hotel but don‘t expect a professional level and business like atmosphere. It just doesn’t exists in Salem.

We’ve been staying Xmas Eve for at least 5 years now @The Grand Hotel & love it…especially the nice staff & the delicious breakfast. We’d definitely recommend it!

The staff is awesome! So friendly. This time breakfast wasn’t so good though. Bacon was undercooked and the potatoes were not good along with tasteless eggs. The last few times were good. Sausage and hash browns were much much better.

Lovely hotel, which is truly grand in its common spaces. They had decorated the amazing lobby with the 12 days of Christmas birds, maids a-milking, and other things from the song. The room was comfortable and clean.

The room was nice and confortable, but a bit noisy because it was a parking lot and a high traffic road. I woudl have asked for a room facing the courtyard. All together, the general level of the hotel does match the price but does not match the name.

Room is outstanding for the price. Breakfast was best buffet breakfast we’ve had. Really appreciated the fresh cut fruit and yogurt. Everything else was great also. We ate dinner Saturday night at the hotel restaurant probably wouldn’t do that again.

This hotel is in a perfect location for walking around Salem. Close to dining and shopping, the state Capitol, and the Riverfront. The buffet breakfast is impressive. Our room was large and comfortable with all the usual amenities. When we visit Salem, we make a point to stay at The Grand Hotel.

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was easy to find, and check-in was a breeze. The breakfast was incredible. I would return here the next time that I am in Salem.

The staff was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so kind and helpful. The rooms were a little outdated and run down for the cost. The bed was comfortable although I would prefer something a bit softer. The breakfast each morning was absolutely amazing! Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely stay again.

Staff was amazing. The rooms clean. Breakfast is delicious Only downsides are the elevators are slow and busy weekends create a wait as well as the noise of the Street traffic is rather loud.

Our 4th time staying at this hotel. We love everything about it. Front desk is always super friendly and helpful. Close to good restaurants and the park on the water. We stay here when we are on out Harleys. We can walk everywhere. Parking is underground. Always feel safe having our Harleys parked down there. We did not try the chef prepared buffet breakfast but I bet its good.

The hotel lived up to its name. Good location, breakfast was very good and easy. Great parking and ease of use. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub to revitalize. I would not hesitate to come back.

Our stay was amazing loved the politeness of the staff. The pool and laundy areas were easy to acsess and the room was amazing.

The Grand Hotel is just that. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. The rooms well appointed and the location second to none. Every time we visit Salem we stay at the Grand as first choice. Very disappointed with any of their competitors. We have traveled extensively and noplace have we found a better complimentary breakfast. It’s remarkable.

The road noise was horrible and the group above us were extremely loud. Kids left unattended obviously and up until 1am and at it again a 6am. Put kids on the ground floor! Service and staff were great.

I was traveling alone, which I don't do often. I felt totally comfortable, safe and even a little pampered. Mostly just a really nice stay. I went down to to the restaurant and sat at the bar for a beer and some soup and it was great.

The included breakfast was ample, but did not dazzle. A nice place to stay, but twice the price of other newer hotels in Salem. LOCATION is excellent for downtown or State Capitol business, and if attending a conference.

Took my son here just passing through! Stayed the night swimming pool was great hot tub was hot and nice! Desert was great wish they let me take the creme brulee to my room. To eat dessert with my son. Great place staff was more then friendly. Thanks!

Everyone here is so nice. The food is delicious at Bentley’s. The only negative is the few sketchy people in the area otherwise it’s a fun part of town.

Clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great. Building and furniture are a bit dated, though. Door between our suite and kitchenette wouldn't close completely. Very noisy if you're in a street-facing room with loud traffic on a busy street.

We especially liked the fish options for dinner at the hotel restaurant. That was great after a long tiring day of driving!

Hot buffet breakfast every morning was so awesome!

My friends had not stayed here before. I had. I love the property, its location, and its very courteous, knowledgeable staff. We got lucky and got early check in. In the late afternoon they had freshly baked cookies. The dbl. queen suite rooms are spacious. Beds and pillows comfy too! Very friendly housekeeping as well. We had a wonderful stay and will be back! Thank you V. Regen Lincoln City Oregon.

Eateries within walking

The only complaint I have is my room was extremely hot. I could not lower the temp below 68* and the vent was pushing out hot air. I can't stand a hot room and it made it extremely uncomfortable. I don't know if my register was broken on if the set the register to never go below that. I had to leave first thing in the morning because I was so uncomfortable. It was like being in a sauna.

Overall ice would say that the hotel was excellent as well as the service. The only negative was there was some noise from the city streets at night

We would go back to Salem just to stay at The Grand Hotel. This hotel was luxurious without being pretentious. The staff were all professional and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast had a great selection of items to choose from and was well stocked and the room clean even when it was very busy. The pool and hot tub were in great condition and it was a wonderful way to beat the heat. It was a quick walk to the riverfront and lots of great restaurants. If you are doing a trip along the Oregon Coast stay at least one night at The Grande!

Everything about the room with spectacular except the view. It was the top of the roof Of the restaurant on the first floor. The staff was absolutely marvelous. Very helpful. The breakfast was spectacular for a continental breakfast over and beyond 10+ plus rating for The entire stay.

The hospitality and guest service was 5 star. Friendly, polite, professional, and very helpful.

Overall, I would give this hotel, five out of five stars with the only caveat being that if you’re in a room facing Liberty Street, you can anticipate that you will hear traffic noise throughout the night. The most obnoxious are the motorcycles that seem to pass by cthrough all hours of the night. That being said the hotel is fantastic and the breakfast is amazing. I will definitely come back, next time I’ll just be sure to ask for a room away from the street.

We went for a concert and The Grand was in the perfect location. It was also very handy that the hotel had parking.

Breakfast was pretty good as far as hotel breakfasts go. The room was mostly tidy. When we moved the ottoman we found a lot of food debris (bigger than crumbs) under it. The in room sound machine was a nice touch, and necessary because of the traffic noise on the street Fri & Sat nights (revving engines and racing).

There are several restaurants and lounges near by, providing quite a bit of variety, should you decide to venture out. The convenient underground parking was a bonus. However, best of all was the friendly front desk service.

Lobby and rooms were really nice. Had an older feeling to it but intentionally and not in a dated kind of way. Free breakfast was amazing every morning with a rotating menu so it wasn't all the same. The restaurant was very classy and had delicious food. Although pricey it was worth it for one night.

We had a great time! Came to watch a Nirvana tribute band for my 13 year old son. We're from Washington so we stayed to play a few days. We loved the hotel and the town.

Hotel was clean front desk friendly. Shower water luke warm bed was hard and had a large lump in the middle. Hot tub could have been a little warmer and the same pair of florescent ear plugs were stuck to the bottom both days of my stay. Breakfast was good especially for the price.

This was an overnight stay in Salem because we had a business appointment and decided to see a little of the city. The entire staff at the Grand Hotel were superb. Russell checked us in and offered a great lunch recommendation. The hotel itself was beautiful and very well maintained. Very comfortable beds. The central location to downtown allowed us to park the car and walk everywhere. Would definitely stay there again.

I would have given this a full 5 stars everywhere if it hadn’t been for the ants! Tiny little guys totally took over the bathroom counter, my toiletry case was filled…1000’s….

We had an event at the convention center so the hotel was very convenient. We didn’t even have to walk outside to get to our event.

Did not like Fire alarm going off in at about 11:00pm It could not be shut off. Ruined stay. this happened on the 14th of Jan. 2024.

The hotel was amazing, gave me a late check-out for free, great breakfast, wonderful staff, Pool, hot tub and workout room was great. Parking was easy and nice. The only problem was the amount of Homelass walking around the area, asking for change and sleeping on the sidewalks just a block away. Would recommend to stay as long as you drive where you are going don't walk.

Super comfortable, clean, staff was excellent & we felt very safe walking to our event & back. There is a bit of street noise but it stopped early in the evening so it didn't keep us awake.

Great place. Everything you need for a lovely stay in the heart of the city. Great food, drink, and entertainment options, all walking distance. Better than average breakfast, comfy bed, fantastic bathroom/shower/towels. Wonderful!

Great experience overall.

The Grand is exactly what it is, namely Grand. What a great location near the beautiful Willamette River and all the river side parks. The downtown area is very nice with lots of shops and dining areas. The Capital Campus and greatest university in the country (I'm an alumni) is a short walk away.

Clean and warm hospitality

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We requested a late checkout and which was not a problem with no added cost. The room was beautiful and cozy, and I loved having extra seating in the room. We dined ate restaurant and it was very upscale; both the atmosphere and the food!

Room was HOT! We had temp set to 62 and were sweating. Woke up this morning to ants in bathroom and in the bed. Not happy and front desk seemed in alarmed we left at 6:30am bc we couldn't get comfortable after seeing bugs.

This hotel is older but sooo worth the stay. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. Rooms are comfortable and the beds were amazing! There are great restaurants, shops, sites, and places to go within walking distance every way you turn. We had an amazing stay and would definitely go back again.

Spent two nights for a business trip and found the accommodation very comfortable. Though the rooms are a bit outdated, they were clean and had plenty of space. The staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed happy hour at Bentley's restaurant. Also, the hotel is two blocks from the waterfront park, which is beautiful place to walk and explore.

Really enjoyed the stay at the grand hotel. Convenient location for my course but also to explore the surrounding area on foot while there. Tasty complimentary breakfast and friendly staff. I would come here again.

Entering the lobby of The Grand Hotel always feels special. Having stayed there for many years while our children were at Willamette University, it is a place to which we love to return. The staff is professional and kind. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is delicious. The location is within walking distance from so many great restaurants, historic downtown with shopping, beautiful parks and WU. Parking is always available too.
