Room was clean and spacious. When there was an issue with the sink stopper, staff fixed it promptly. Heater, fridge, microwave all worked properly. Great value for the price!

The room was very clean and staff was very helpful. The room was well stocked if anything was forgotten. Parking was available but we did not have a car so not sure if it was free but it was nice and covered garage parking.

Clean and quiet. I slept well. There are great restaurants and bakeries within a block of the hotel. The ECR bus a block away is only 4 stops from the Bart red and yellow lines--super convenient for getting to the airport or getting into the city. The towels were very clean and smelled fresh as did the bedding. I appreciate no pets/no smoking because of sinus issues.

The hotel is very nice and I really liked the open area with nice furniture and plants. It was a quad area in the middle and the rooms around it in a square. Very unique and old timey. Well preserved from a time gone by.

I checked in being in a hurry I was very sorry for that but when I checked I asked if someone can get a key around a certain time I was told yes let put their name down and they will have no problem getting a key but my friend was never given a key the guy at the front seat said they do not do such a thing and since my name was on reservation I needed to be there when I specifically ask if my other guest was able to get a key with me not being there I was advised yes but that was not the case.. I was not happy about that but the place was nice and clean just hope they honor this if I chose to stay next time ..

The room was spacious and clean. There were restaurants nearby and the hotel is very close to the airport. I didn’t have any issues with noise. They have covered parking, but there aren’t very many spaces, so I was glad I arrived earlier in the evening to secure a spot. I was able to walk to dinner easily.

Parking could be tight but I never had an issue parking in the alternative areas the staff suggested. Great spot in the middle of the bay to explore between San Francisco, Pacifica, San Jose, and even Oakland.

Parking was a little tight if you have a full size SUV like we did. But it was very safe & secure. Reception & cleaning staff were all very nice & friendly. They are not a big hotel hain and the promises were not modern like the new hotel chains nowadays, but the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff & the great customer service they provided more than made up for the outdated building. And we have most of the amenities that new hotel chains provide, like microwave, coffee maker fridge, smart TV, etc. Over all, we had a really nice stay with them.

The parking is free, parking on the site. But its super narrow, barely fit 2 cars side by side. The property, is clean, easy access to anywhere you go. But our room is facing the street, morning and night rush hours you can really hear and wake up from noise of the the cars outside. Also, the pressure on the shower head is not that strong enough to wash thick and long hair. And because of that water pressure, showers take long. But overall, price value and location is good.

Maintenance problems. Things should have been addressed proactively. In addition, no working fan in the bathroom was causing stalactites to form over the sink, which was proof that ongoing issues are being ignored. We asked for a quiet room twice but were ignored and placed on the main road. I also don't really like to pull back the bedding and see a long, black hair on the sheets. Attitude and so-so comprehension of English are also issues. We stayed here 7 years ago without problems, but after this stay, we will not stay here again.

We were impressed by the size and quality of the room. We both remarked that we would stay here again because of the location convenience to SFO and highways. It was a pleasant stay after 2 weeks abroad, ending in a 13 hour flight, and making the Gateway Inn a stop-over before driving home. Highly recommend this place.

It was cold at night and I couldn’t find any way to adjust the temperature. No paper tissue.The room was also quite noisy, and the bed felt like it was vibrating.

The room is clean but needs to be upgraded. The towels and pillows grossed me out. I had to buy my own to feel better. The parking is ridiculous challenging to the point where people are parking improperly out of their line. Hotel staff could careless about it.

Clean room, but it had some type of chemical smell through out the common areas and our room. After a while the smell probably dissipated. Overall it was fine for just one night.

The heater didn’t work and it was very chilly in the room. They did offer more blankets but I think we deserved some kind of discount because it was difficult to sleep in such a cold room.

Stayed one night to catch our flight the next morning since this location is very close to SFO. Front desk was very helpful and let us know about a planned power outage from PG&E outside so we wouldn't be stuck wondering what's going on. Housekeeping works hard and did a great job with our room and even had our door open and ready for us to enter. They also have a nice lounge area for guests to eat or just hangout.

It was early evening we as well as a registered quest waited 20 minutes for the desk clerk to come out of the back office to open the door to get into the building. non adequate linen for the bed, one BROKEN ice machine for the whole building, sketchy underground parking (but it was free), the lone maid we saw the next morning seemed to be a hard worker the room was clean.

Fast food and convenient stores near hotel on the main road in front of the hotel. Lots of places to eat and shop on the street two blocks behind the hotel. Only about a 30 minute walk to BART. Maybe a 10 minute Uber ride to the airport. Cons: Like all hotels near an airport you get the airplane noise. But didn’t seem bad enough to keep me up at night. Someplace near the hotel has Friday evening music that is loud but it seemed to end by 10 or 11 pm I think. Overall good experience and would stay here again.

Spacious, clean room. Not too noisy despite being close by the airport. (The air conditioner does have a hum but I didn’t mind that as it served as white noise.) The bed was large and comfortable, the room clean. It’s an older establishment but well kept. The area itself was a little run down and not easily accessible from the airport unless you have a car. It’s quite a walk to the BART, closer to the train. We caught an Uber which was $30 USD.

Its a no frills hotel. The room was clean, close to freeway, good location. There are fast food and restaurants in walking distance. Parking is first come, first serve, but the lot is very small. I parked behind the hotel in the alley. It didnt seem safe but i didnt have any problems with my car there overnight and there really werent many people passing by.

One night stay next to the airport. Late check in and early departure, so spent little time there, but bed was comfortable and accommodations were adequate. Ice machine wasn’t working, so that’s the only negative.

When we arrives the common areas were not clean. They were cleaned up later in the evening. Did not give me confidence that our room had been cleaned well.

The room was clean and large. I like the faux hardwood floor. The bed is comfortable and shower adequate. Two small nits: This is the second hotel in a row where there have been no facial tissues. Is this a thing? There was even a slot in the vanity for a box of tissues but I was told they don’t provide them. Also, the Keurig coffee maker didn’t work. We arrived very early—almost two hours before check in. We were told rooms would be ready at 2:30 p.m. We had lunch nearby (there are several dining establishments and a wide variety of ethnic foods—restaurants and markets—within about three blocks). We came back at 2:30 and rooms were ready as promised. A front desk being accurate and true to their word is a real plus. I was staying for one night while attending two Giants games. Caltrain station is a half mile away and BART is a mile away—great access to San Francisco. One tip: Ask for a room away from the El Camino Real side. The road is very noisy.

We love this little hotel. It is far enough out of the ruckus of downtown SF but close enough and affordable!!! Highly recommend.

Compared to pricier options in the area, it offers a clean, comfortable room. The bathroom is old, but clean. The area is simply a stopover for getting into the city or the airport, but I'd recommend it over more expensive places if you aren't expecting luxury. Check-in worker was friendly and helpful.

Overall OK except the bath tub was elevated which caused me to accidentally fall as I was getting off the bathtub after my shower. I hit my head against the bathroom door & hit my right elbow on the floor as I landed hard. The bathtub floor was not on the same level of the bathroom floor.

As a travel nurse who would stay here weekly for my scheduled shifts and commute back home on my off days, this place was excellent, plain and simple. Gateway had everything I needed, cleanliness, self parking, accommodating staff, etc. Compared to the other hotels in the area that I considered giving a chance for around the same prices, this one was always reliable. No regrets!

I had an excellent experience. Only concern is the parking situation along the dark alley late at night… Could have some lights or an entry area into the parking garage for late night arrivals

Loved our room! It was very spacious and had bay windows with shutters.

Elevator wasn’t working, which is not ADA compliant. The room they assigned me hadn’t even been cleaned by housekeeping yet so they had to get me another room. The room is average clean not horrible, but not great. Shampoo comes in a little salad dressing packet with barely enough for an infant.

Elevator wasn’t working

Decent place to stay if you don't mind lugging your luggage up the stairs. Unfortunately the elevator was not functioning. Unit was clean, surrounding area had several places within walking distance to eat or drink at. About a mile from BART so I would say pretty good location. One minor drawback was hearing sirens several times throughout the evening and night. Fire station directly across the street.

I am not satisfied with the facility itself, I can hear every steps and banging pf closet doors from above floor. Didn't slept well because of the occupant above was so loud. Terrible place.

Could use a little more power charger support with USB or USBC ports. But otherwise, the room was excellently outfitted and very very clean.

It was ok but the key will not work had to keep getting key reset the sink was broken and the refrigerator was leaking and no face towel the 2 day I try not to complain but staff was very helpful

Quick overnight layover stay. It was nice to have IHop close. The room was big, but outdated. There was mold on the shower curtain and there wasnt any hotpot or cups or coffee available. Linens were worn. Ik for a quick stay.

Proximity to the airport is a big plus. The staff that greeted and check us in was Gabriel. He was very polite, helpful and accomodated our concern. Unfortunately the elevator was not working and Gabriel assisted us with our luggages on the stairs. The room is big and clean however we heard all the movement from upper floor and stumping of feet as people ascend and descend on the stairwell. The street noise can be bothersome if you are a light sleeper.

The front desk guy was amazing. He was extremely helpful. The room was clean but very noisy. The blanket was very thin and it was cold so that wasn't great. People in the room above were stomping around all night and I only slept three hours because of it. Other than that it was great.

Took much longer than usual to check in as the young lady at the counter didnt seem to know what to do. She had to call her husband to figure out what to do. The elevator was out of service, the sheets were stained, we found empty alcohol bottles in the night stand and the stopper for the sink was stuck down. We have stayed here quite a few times, but this is probably the last time we will stay here.

This was my second trip there this year. The last trip the elevator wasn't working. It was in January. They told me when I got there and gave me the chance to go elsewhere. Plus they took my bag to my room. This time they said nothing until after I had checked in and paid. And no offer of help with my luggage although I didn't need it.

Room did not have bathroom sink/vanity. Had to do normal bathroom routine over a kitchen sink with no mirror!! No ac or fan. Did have a heating fan on desk top. Noise from road/street. Thin walls and noisy neighbors till after midnight. But comfortable bed and room.

This is a fine place for a short business trip. Lack of double glazing meant there was a lot of traffic noise at night, and fairly thin walls added to the noise from elsewhere. Bed was v comfortable and the room neat, tidy and refurbished although the bathroom was a little dated. Nice to have a microwave, access to a kettle would have been good. Lift not working

Hard to fall asleep due to traffic and singing next door. I had a stranger walk into my room when I was completely naked. The management said they “forgot” to deactivate his key.
