Extended Stay America Suites San Francisco San Carlos

It said on the website that the extended stay was for 6 people. This is why I booked it but it was a lie. It was only good for two people Sofa bed for broken. My daughter had to get a separate to stay and paid out of pocket.

I recently wrapped up an extended stay here, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. While the accommodations themselves were great, the absolute best part of this property is the incredible staff. From day one, the entire team went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. They are consistently friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive to guests' needs. Living anywhere long-term can feel a bit uprooting, but their warm hospitality and quick responsiveness truly made it feel like a home away from home. If you are looking for a place for an extended stay where you will actually be taken care of, I highly recommend booking here. The accessible location closed to our conference arena I missed the dinning hall

The accessible location near fox theatre in Redwood city for the conference I wished there would be a dinning hall where i would host all our delegations for dinner or anything else .

Strange bed smell like mildew and sex. No shampoo in the bathroom. No waste basket. Breakfast was horrible: expected eggs and sausage and got packages of oatmeal. You can't afford eggs and sausage? For 3 bills a night?

Something used in cleaning the room triggered my allergies and I was very uncomfortable

I smelled mildew in the room all night, as I laid in the bed. Completely outdated from the 80s. Things were dirty. The mirror had something all over it and wasn’t cleaned. Things were rusty. I opted not to shower in the morning. Parking was OK because obviously the hotel was not full.

Terrible smell in the room. I had a headache that whole night. Worst, instead of working with me.. They tried to avoid me because I needed the rest of the stay cancelled and reimbursed. DO NOT COME

Parking was easy, someone scratched my car though. Kitchen supplies were very limited. Staff was courteous enough. Lots of slamming of doors, very loud and annoying. We were there for almost a week, and there was no clean towels or housekeeping.

Hello. This time, I wasn't happy with my stay. My girlfriend and I always go there to have a pleasant time; this isn't the first time we've stayed there, and we've never had any issues before. However, this time, someone came to tell us to keep our voices down and lower the TV volume. I feel that I pay for my stay precisely so I *don't* have to deal with problems like that. Next time, please put us in a room where we won't run into any issues.

Overall it was ok. Happy hour was not good. Pretzels and cheese dont exactly count on their own. The amount of air freshener pumped into the common areas was so nauseating and triggered my husband’s migraines. Most ES’s we stay at are in better condition and more quality.

Debris, dirt, old food and animal remains under the beds. Thin walls and noisy. The room smelled of sewage. Carpet reeked and was very unclean. We left and cut our reservation short.

The bed wqs comfortable The floor was sticky through the whole place, when I wokr, there were tiny spiders crawling across yhe bed and a large one on the table next to the tv. I will never stay here again and DO NOT recommend anyone to stay here. Plus the staff was cold and seemed like they did not want to be there.

Worst breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel !!

Room was spacious, and you had the opportunity to have dishes and plates if requested certainly needs to be remodeled updated but very clean

Room was void of extra blankets, pillows, shampoo, soap, etc. Breakfast was coffee and packaged snacks. Price was almost $300. Geez. Not an attractive place.

I was preparing to take a shower and couldn’t find shampoo. After searching for a bit, I found the placard that stated “complimentary shampoo at the front desk”. Get dressed, down the elevator and to the front desk for shampoo. 😅😅😅😅. They also claim to have complimentary breakfast. It consisted of coffee pot and packets of oatmeal. Lastly, the two garbage cans in rear of property were full and overflowing for both the days we were there. It is obvious this place is trying to save money any way they can.

The staff was great!! Very professional and accommodating. I let them know i wasn't satisfied and they switched my room. It was a little better but not by much. I didnt expect much and got exactly that...not much.

Felt like i was being watched, it was eerie. But overall good for parking and close to SFO which is what i needed.

The front desk drivers license scanner pulled incorrect information from the license. I was very worried because I was flying out very soon. After spending about 5 hours navigating various government sites, it was determined that the hotel scanner gave wrong information. When the front desk was imformed, they were unapologetic.

It was terrible harassed by manager. Told couldnt walk outside and discrimantio against disabled people.

I have stayed at many EXT properties, San Carlos is by far my favorite. Clean, great location, next to shopping, food, parks and dog friendly.

The night clerk was the most friendliest hotel clerk I've ever met at it was 11pm. Loved the cozy king size bed and fluffy pillows.

Clean and quiet, next to a large office building so there was plenty of parking. i got the feeling there were many permanent residents living there but not sure. Not a problem anyway. The area surrounding the place was pretty quiet as it was a weekend and most places were closed save a few restaurants that might be in walking distance. i would stay there again.

The upper management could really use some lessons on customer service.

Good location. Room was bit dirty and felt it wasn’t occupied for a bit. Had to get full new set of linen for second night as it was bit stuffy.

No house keeping no trash pickup. I had to return my used towels to the front desk. The worst stay I ever had.

We had to stay an extra night for tests unexpectedly and were trying to find a hotel at the last minute with a decent price and dog-friendly. The person working at the desk was so accommodating and helpful! There was lots of parking (not common in this area) and were able to get food delivery easily. Room was roomy and very clean. Highly Recommend!

This property is a life hazard when it comes to cleanliness. My bed sheets had a lot of stains on them, I asked the front desk for cleaning services and they said they will only clean your room after you stay for 2 weeks, I said I will pay for it but they never cleaned my room even with me paying for it. Will never stay at this hotel. Trusted the online reviews but apparently online reviews are not accurate.

WiFi sucks. You have to pay to use. No one is there to talk about maintenance issues.

Truly terrible. Roaches in kitchen all over the place. Wash room stinks like vomit. The front desk says it a motel don’t expect a hotel kind of treatment. Checked out without refund.

A guest didn’t collect his Amazon package the same day and they told him it’s not allowed very rudely. Go to a place which treats its people like guests not debtors. Cheers!

Super clean room friendly staff

STAFF CHECKED ME INTO 3 ROOMS- FIRST 2 ROOMS ALREADY HAD SOMEONE INTHEM AND 3RD ROOM HAS 1 REGULAR COUCH AND 1 BED. I PAID FOR A ROOM WITH 2 BEDS. COMMERCIAL DRYER HAD HORRIBLE SCREACHING NOISE COMING FROM IT AND HOUSEKEEPING TRIED TO COME IN THE ROOM NUMEROUS TIME WHILE WE SLEPT. SLEPT PART OF THE TIME IN MY WORK VECHILE DUE TO BEING SO UNCOMFORTABLE.

The hallways smelled like food. The luggage mover was beyond difficult to work. The automatic front doors into the lobby did not Work. The staff did not ask if we enjoyed our stay or was everything ok…. absolutely nothing. Will never return.

Staff was nowhere to be seen in the morning for the front desk and the breakfast option that it says it’s included it’s a joke. The coffee taste more like water then coffee and they just have one fruit and like two different bread options with coffee or hot chocolate.

Stains on the towels pillowcases. There was hair in the bathtub kitchen counter wasn’t clean.

Squeaky clean. Only one suggestion. I am 76 years old with bad legs. A grab bar in the tub would be a plus. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Close to the freeway

Front desk agent was very abrupt. Tried being lightheaded with him and he warmed up “fairly” after a few attempts but I guess that’s just your average customer service to expect these days. Room had one missing door on the closet one im kinda particular about things being closed and the curtain was somewhat broken. Overall it was just ok. Probably wouldn’t stay again unless I had to.

This is a great place for a quiet restful stay. It’s off the road, and away from a lot of the noise. I would stay here again!

Have to wait for a front desk agent! Wait ranges from 5-10 minutes. Limited breakfast bar. Coffee and oatmeal packets and that’s all.

We liked the room nice big and 25 dollars pet charge was awesome. However the door leading out to parking and a spot for pets was over run with trash.

Only down side was no lobby after 11pm. Need to call 0 (not 000 as sign says) for corporate, then they call someone to check you in. Took extra 30mins. Otherwise unremarkable.

The window is sealed shut, despite a sign above the stove saying to open the window if cooking. The room was generally clean, but the crevices of things like the light switches were so dirty it was gross. The room started to stink after a few days and because I kept needing to extend my stay it didn't get cleaned at all. If I had one booking for the whole length of my stay it would have been cleaned so there's a hole in the system there.

Staff are very helpful and friendly all the time when you need help. The room are clean and tidy.

Con: Mostly self-service experience. Room services won't be done if not asked. Trashes won't be taken away if not asked. We even saw a full trash can, left by the previous guest in the room. Well, I think they can definitely have done it better.

Mercedes (front desk) was super helpful, professional & friendly. Check in was a breeze. The location is quiet & there were plenty of parking spaces available. It’s also only a few minutes drive to hwy 101. I will definitely stay again at this property.

While the pricing was reasonable for a one night stay, the cleanliness of the room was inconsistent. The bathroom was fairly clean but the kitchen area was not. The dining table was not wiped down and the refrigerator door shelves still had a baggie of food from the previous guest as well as being dirty. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, which is why I am giving this property an average rating that otherwise would have been poor.

Enjoyed my first stay at Extended Stay. Only complaint was the breakfast, very limited, only coffee and packs of oatmeal. No toast, muffin, or the like. Also, there weren't even bowls or utensils to be used by those that like oatmeal.

Big surprise, for a business hotel, there were no USB charging ports, nor any charging bricks to loan or rent. Since I assumed there would be, I didn’t bring a charging brick, and could do no work! No shampoo provided except if you ask. Overall, basically good but spoiled by little corner cytting

The rooms come fully equipped with a full kitchen yet they don’t provide you not even a cup or spoon. The so-called breakfast is a joke. A coffee urn and some granola bars.

In my room, the bathroom toilet had piss stains on the seat. Ive never had that issue before and thought it was disgusting.

My stay here was good and acceptable, not to fancy but very clean. The bed was average and the room was spacious. The service was not terrible but not exceptional. This hotel was good for the value.

Waited at an empty front desk for ten minutes when we checked in. Entire place smelled horribly. Room was falling apart.

Both of the rooms that I stayed in smelled awful, like mildew. Causing our luggage to pick up the smell of the musky rooms. The inside of this property has never been remodeled for decades.The surrounding area outside is safe with no suspicious activity. The hot coffee that the hotel provides in the morning is made using TAP water, which is very unfortunate.

It’s quiet and on site laundry helps. The refrigerator kind of noisy at night. Probably cuz it’s old. Otherwise a good place to stay.

No shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shower cap, moisturizer, coffee, cups, glasses, or coffee machine in the room. Ad says fully equipped kitchen. I called the front desk for items, and shampoo, hard soap, coffee machine, and utensils were delivered. No conditioner, shower gel, shower cap, or moisturizer. The front desk claimed it was aginast the law to have these items in the room. I could not use the shower; there was no handle to hold on to or a rubber anti-slip mat in the shower. It is unsafe for a senior like myself. There also wasn't a hand extension for the shower. I was told by the person at the front desk they do not provide it in any of their rooms. I have a medical procedure in the morning and cannot take a shower beforehand. This should be reported as an unsafe hotel to Cal Osha or other authorities. Ad says Free Breakfast- it's free coffee and a muffin. Perhaps the verbiage should be changed. This should also be posted on the Expedias/ Stay America website and it wasn't. Shameful. I want a refund!

There was no one at the desk when I came in and three people ahead of me waiting to check in.

Staff friendly and professional. The shower barely any warm water. The heater very loud this hotel is your basic hotel safe and surroundings Area good.

Beautiful, welcoming and attentive staff after relocating from a property experiencing a power outage. I was treated as if I were a guest the night before (and possibly should have been) and accommodated a better quality room. Thank you. Highly recommended.

The only issue is that the Hotels.com site says there is a complimentary breakfast. It's only a coffee bar - no food. Hotels.com needs to correct this.

Would not stay there again. Very small room. Bed and pillows are not comfortable. Vending machine wasn’t working. Interior is very old.
