the rooms and property were just fine/a bit rundown, but the staff were incredibly kind and helpful! would recommend if you're looking to be downtown and near the airport. also - the only hotel in the area with free parking!

It was a very nice but basic room. The room was immaculately clean, and the location of the hotel could not be beat! Great food a block away. The front desk lady was also very nice to work with. I will definitely consider this hotel again when I go back to San Diego in the fall.

Major plus: price is much cheaper than the surrounding hotels. Only downside is the parking: parking situation is not great, lot is tiny and doesn't seem to have enough spaces but there also is free parking on the street about a 1-2min walk away from the hotel. Overall, it was worth it! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be booking to stay here again!

Great location with friendly staff. Building is on the shabby side but does have a fridge and microwave (2 upvotes) NO coffee maker (1 downvote) The towels desperately need replacing, they have the texture of a Scotch-brite pad.

The staff was very helpful and nice. They were very helpful in suggesting a room upgrade for my group. My major issue was that it took a few days to address the pest issue after I told them about it and what needed to be done. It was fixed the day before we left, but it could have been addressed the day I arrived or the next day. Parking is available on a first-come basis. I was able to park in the lot most nights except for one. The restaurants were located on the next block, which was very convenient. They could also clean the curtains, as they were dusty. I stayed because I was told my concern would be handled right away, but that didn't happen until one person took charge after realizing I wasn't happy with their attempts to fix the issue. I would have left if I knew it would have taken that long to be addressed correctly. It was one of the locations within my price range.

A big plus is the free parking, which was extremely convenient for both the start and finish lines of the race. The location made race weekend much easier and stress-free. The only downside was that the rates were quite high, likely due to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon event. Overall, the convenience and free parking were definite highlights.Stayed for the second time and will most likely be back for next year’s race.

Windows/walls were rather thin so you could hear street & neighbor noise. Thankful for the mini fridge but there was a microwave that didn’t work and staff never got me a working one despite my asking. The AC unit was also kind of janky.

It was a terrible experience, photos on internet and reality - are different. Very dirty, everything is old, needs repair, bathroom in terrible condition, balcony is scared to stay on. Location was great, but such high price and such conditions (especially when you travel with kids, in our case with a toddler) we were in - do not allow to put more than 2 stars. Do not recommend at all

What really stood out though was the staff. Every person we interacted with was genuinely kind and helpful, which made the stay feel way more welcoming. I even had an issue with my reservation through a third-party site that accidentally booked an extra night, and they fixed it immediately and refunded me with no hassle. The room itself was clean and simple, nothing fancy but definitely comfortable. It was also surprisingly quiet from other guests, which I appreciated. You will hear some outside noise since it’s close to the freeway, but that’s pretty typical for the area and didn’t bother me. A couple things to keep in mind: the beds and pillows are definitely on the firmer side and the towels are very small and thin (child size small lol). Not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of if you’re picky about those things! Overall, this is a great, no-frills hotel in an amazing location with really great service. You really can’t be the price either. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had all we needed and more: free room upgrade from a one bed room to a two bedrooms suite. Clean, microwave and fridge in the room. We didn’t use the air conditioning because we didn’t need to. The area is loud because of proximity with the airport but past 10:30 pm planes don’t fly anymore so the room and environment were quiet. Free parking outdoor lot is a huge plus but come early. Lovely front agent very helpful and the area is just perfect walking distance with the heart of little Italy.

Roaches in the restroom, box spring look like someone died on it, dust everywhere, hikes in the bedding…we were scared to go to sleep. We got the last parking spot and it was a really really tight lot. In a great area but I would not recommend this hotel. Front desk was polite.

    5/5

The room was mostly clean, just a couple minor stains on the bed and countertops that we didn’t mind too much. There were a few small issues. The water pressure was weak and didn’t get very hot, the TV took multiple tries to work, and the AC wasn’t very strong, but nothing that ruined our stay. The staff was very kind and helpful, which definitely stood out. Overall, I’m really happy with the stay and would still give it 5 stars based on the price, location, and service.

Parking was terrible. Very limited spots and not suv friendly. The room itself wasn’t terrible but can definitely tell it’s a much older hotel. Doesn’t look the cleanest even though it wasn’t dirty. It’s just old. But for the price being on the cheaper side, I guess it’s fair.

I like the location; it was minutes away from Little Italy. Even though the airport is near, I did not once, hear the airplanes fly by, maybe because I slept with the AC on, and did not hear no noises, not even the neighbors. The Staff is very kind ?! Maid service was horrible. I was in my room a few days and heard the maid service on my floor. No one ever knocked on my door for service. I hadn't put the do not disturb on the door. There was an older maid with glasses who was rude when I simply asked her to replace my towels. She acted like I was bothering her. A few days later I had to place my trash outside my door because again, no one ever knocked on my door when I was in my room and heard them in the hallway. VERY POOR SERVICE.

I wasn’t expecting much and the hotel met those expectations. It had a “1972 Motel 6 smell” with walls so thin there was no mistaking when neighbors were brushing their teeth. There are better options available.

Staff was very nice at check in, but there is no lobby or anything to wait if your room isn’t ready when checking in ( just something to be mindful of). The main light in the room was flickering and the shower was hard to turn on and super hot even when set to cold with barely any water pressure. But otherwise it was clean and decent for a brief stay with lots of great restaurants close by.

I’ve stayed here many many times over years. Great location. If you’re looking for something that’s a five minute uber ride to and from the airport. There’s a convenient seven11 less than a block away. There’s several restaurants that are a few minutes walk from the property. The property sits in a hill and when you exit there’s a really nice view looking down towards the harbor and Coronado across the harbor. I should warn anyone reading this that it’s very noisy (not the guests) . The planes flight path to the airport runs along side the property and the freeway is less than a block behind the building. There is a parking lot for guest with no charge. It’s first come first serve. Most hotels in the area charge $50 a night or street parking, which is metered til late afternoon. The building is an older wooden building with squeeky floors and a tiny elevator. It smells old. They do a great job at keeping it clean. But keep in mind, it’s very budget friendly. So you get what you pay for. Not necessarily in a bad way. The staff is friendly. There’s a middle aged woman that works the later shift who is just an awesome lady. Great personality and so friendly. Ive had the pleasure of being checked in by her several times in the past.

The staff was so polite and kind I really appreciated their hospitality it was really refreshing. The only things I have to comment on is the safety of the property one of the doors of the hotel does not fully close and anyone without a hotel key can enter and it made me feel unsafe. And the parking was also an issue there’s not much space to park, often times we had to park outside of the hotel lot.

In general this is a no frills hotel. Parking was not good. You had to drive backwards out of the lot because it was too small to turn around in. Airplane noise and noise of garbage trucks was bad. Other places might have the same issue. They need to invest in new windows and doors to block the noise. Tv was roku only. You would need to log into your own steaming service. Maybe in this age that’s not so bad. Nothing on tv anyhow. There was a fridge and microwave. No coffee in room. No breakfast. Towels were old. Overall the place felt like it needed an upgrade. Location was excellent for walking to restaurants and maybe a mile to Midway museum. 10-15 minute walk to sailing ship museum. Internet was good but sometimes the Roku would buffer and freeze. My iPhone worked fine. If this is one of the cheaper priced hotels then it was acceptable. I felt I paid a lot though. If I went to this area again I would pay a little more for better parking. If I had to pay a lot more then I would be willing to stay here again.

So i got invited to comic con. So arrived in town early and was able to get an early check in at 2pm. Wonderful. I was parked out front in the 30 minute loading zone on the street and able to unload R2D2 and my items easily. No problems yet. The elevator was tiny, but it worked and served it's purpose. Still good. The door handle for the room only works when pulled up, took a few tries to figure it out. Good. Room seems to be recently updated. New tv microwave and toilet. Nice. Finding a red x on the first towel I used was a bit confusing and then finding one on the sheet too was concerning after looking at other towels with no x on them. The AC worked well but the cover had a big hole.in it. There were a few small holes in the tiles and one big one by the desk that looked like it was attempted to be repaired. The sinknwater pressure was good, the shower not so much. The beds seemed new and were firm. Good. Parking was an interesting experience. The lot is only big enough for maybe 14 cars but after waiting for a while i grabbed a spot on the end of the lot near the street. I left my car there Friday night and Saturday while i was at the con. I came back Saturday and found notification that i was going to be towed. I went to the office and got that canceled as I was supposed to have been given a parking pass when checked in but never was. So luckily it was settled by the great night shift person. It was near the airport but i didn't hear planes in the room.

Property is in a fair location. Walking distance to little italy and only a few lights down from the docks and freeway. The parking lot is a bit small and tight but pretty safe over all if you drive your car. The room did smell a bit musky probably due to the windows being closed for such a long time. There was a lack of water pressure for both the toilet and shower during our stay. I wasn’t very fond of the attention to detail from the cleaning staff it wasn’t typical to what I’ve experienced at other properties. I stayed for a total of 13 days and out of those 13 days I placed the room service tag for cleaning on the door on 8 different days when leaving for work in the morning and only twice did I come back and the room was actually attended to; all the other times it seemed like the tag was ignored and one occasion I came back and the tag was placed on a different room’s door and the reason I know this is because the door tags actually have the room number they came from written on them. There were a couple situations where the parking pass I taped to my motorcycle was either removed or ignored and I came outside to notes either threatening to tow or to come to the office, but when the issue was addressed with the front desk it was handled well. The beds were fairly comfortable and in the morning there’s coffee in the front office.

I had a great experience and very convenient location. If you plan to stay in the area of little Italy it is a great spot allowing you to walk to most locations. It was much affordable compared to other locations but I will say you get what you pay for. This is a hotel for just needing a place to sleep and that’s it. Rooms were decent with a faint smell of cigarettes. Was easy to mask with a coupe of sprays of perfume. Not a great spot if you are bringing tons of luggage. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire business career. The experience was beyond disappointing—everything from the service to the cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable. The rooms were filthy, with stained sheets, dust everywhere, and a terrible odor that made it difficult to sleep. The bathroom was even worse—mold in the shower, dirty towels, and a sink that barely drained. It was clear that housekeeping either didn’t do their job or simply didn’t care. As for the service, it was just as bad. The staff was rude and unhelpful, making even basic requests seem like a burden. Check-in was slow and disorganized, and when I raised concerns about the state of my room, they were dismissive and unwilling to assist. To top it off, the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt neglected and run-down. The hallways smelled musty, the carpets were stained, and the entire place just felt unhygienic and poorly maintained. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. There are far better options available for the same or even lower prices. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Hotel is probably only good for two things: free on-site parking and the location in walking proximity to Little Italy. Everything else is very average or subpar. Cleanliness is okay at best, comfort is very poor. We were only given 3 pillows for a queen room, and one small throw blanket, along with no comforter on the bed, only sheets. The A/C unit works… for about 20 minutes and then shuts off randomly and had to be kicked in order to restart. One plus-side is streaming services available on the TV. However, it’s on the approach to the airport, so the airplane noise is quite loud. The room was clean, but everything was pretty worn down. I hung a do not disturb sign on my door as I do not like cleaners coming in with my stuff around (and I am a really neat person so it’s not like waiting till the end of my 3 day stay is going to result in a huge job for the cleaners) but it was ignored, which I did not appreciate.

Location couldn't be better - right next to Little Italy so you're close to the action but far enough that it isn't loud at night. And you could walk to Seaport in 15-20 minutes, or downtown in half an hour. Also close to public transit stops. However property was old, with minor upkeep issues, though no deal breakers. Initially the shower in our room could only divert a fraction of the water from the tap to the showerhead when we pulled the knob, so the water pressure from the showerhead was inadequate. And although we asked the staff to fix it for a couple of days in a row, they either never tried or were unable to fix it. However they did easily agree to move us into another room when we brought up on day 3 that it still wasn't fixed. The second room had a flickering light, which they quickly changed to a new bulb at our request. Overall, excellent value and location, but next time we would pay more to stay somewhere a bit better, ideally in the same general area.

I’ve never left a bad review to ANY hotel. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The towels were like Brillo pads and small. Our pillows were hard and we saw cockroaches one night. Made it hard to sleep the next 2 nights. We had to use the stairs(we were on the 4th floor) more than we could use the elevator. We told the front desk that it wasn’t working and they said ‘oh, I’ll let the maintenance person know it’s not working, again’ We finally just started using the stairs because it would never show up when we called for it. I also found the outside doors still “open” when we where returning from being out. Very unsafe. Not a good place to stay. Spend a few more bucks and get a quality room. This place is horrible!

Good parking, hotel is being remodeled so there is a bit of noise. Room was clean. Close to Midway and Little Italy (walking distance)

Upon entering the room we were met with a very strong bleach smell. This was evident in all the rundown hallways as well. We then noticed cockroaches all over the bathroom coming up from the drains. They obviously pour bleach down the drains to mask the problem. The elevator is sketchy and tiny. Homeless people and vagrants in and around the hotel. Wifi was spotty
