The room was sufficient for our needs. Clean room. Nice staff. Good location to things we were there to do. Breakfast was decent. Parking was tight. Walls were extremely thin.

The hotel itself is fine and your typical holiday inn standard, maybe a notch lower. We heard babies cried but it wasn’t bad. The only complaint about hotel is bathroom has no fan. The location is a bit sketchy, at the end of an industrial part of town. If you have a regular car you can park in the garage. We had to park in the overflow lot due to a box on top of our suv, and the area is not family friendly. The actual location is bad imo but the flip side is, this location is central to sea world, ocean beach, old town, downtown, and petco. Not too bad but would probably not come back to this hotel.

Parking in the garage was not available, we parked in the additional parking area. The area did seem less safe than the garage but we parked there without incident. Very easy to get back and forth from Sea World. Close to the highway. Breakfast was a bit busy and the area was congested. I was satisfied with our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there in the future.

We really like it here. The surrounding area is not very good, but we like the inside, very clean,staff are friendly. The amenities like pool,gym,breakfast is all nice and well kept. It looks like its newly renovated. 6mins away from seaworld and 7mins aways from belmont park and mission beach. Grocery store and restaurants are close by.

Worth it

The hotel was great, nice and clean and well maintained. The breakfast was good too. Problem here is twofold. First, the location is extremely noisy being right alongside the Interstate on one side and a major artery on the other. Plus, there are airplanes passing right over. The other problem is parking. Most of the parking is in a cellar beneath the building. If you drive a car much bigger than a subcompact, you're going to have a difficult time.

The beds were comfy and the room was clean. The breakfast was excellent and had many options with extra hot coffee! Very close to Sea World.

We had an overall enjoyable stay, but will stay elsewhere next time. The room was clean and spacious with complimentary water & coffee/tea. The beds were comfortable and true-to-size. The in-room entertainment was lacking (older TV, basic channels, no Netflix/streaming platforms). More outlets and/or charging ports would have been appreciated. The daily breakfast featured a good variety with juices, pork and turkey meat options, eggs, potatoes, hot and cold cereals, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, muffins, pancakes, etc. Staff was predominantly Hispanic. They nor the manager were very friendly to non-Hispanic guests. The laundry room had newer machines for $2 per cycle. The pool is very small. Parking is free, but limited for standard-sized vehicles. You'll need to return for the evening no later than 7pm if you want a spot. The location is convenient for restaurants, shopping, and getting to popular local attractions, but the area is sketchy (security guards in stores, items locked behind glass). The doors of the hotel are locked at 9pm and you must show your key card through the window to get let in by staff. A security guard walks the property at night as well. Flyers were dispersed to guests stating the hot water would be cut off one day from 9am to 4pm for a boiler replacement, yet no refund or accommodation was offered for the inconvenience. Given that kind of maintenance was scheduled days or weeks in advance, the hotel should not have even accepted reservations for that day.

The room was cleaned everyday of our 4 days. Breakfast really good. Staff the best I have ever had. Felt like a lot of stars hotel.

The drive to the hotel is a little sketchy-looking and it is a bit tricky to find the hotel until you know where you're going. Conveniently located to lots of parks and activities. Ample parking.

Breakfast is served until 10 but bacon and yogurt selection ran out by 8 on Thursday. Bathroom definitely needs some renovating as while clean the floor tiles and bathtub are worn and don't look as clean as they should. Local trash came at 5am and woke up my kids, so that was fun. In the past I've been very happy with holiday inn express, but this is probably the most fun down one I've stayed at, I would never have knowingly paid this much for the suite we got stuck with.

Parking spots are TIGHT all spaces sat compact car but everyone had compact SUV also breakfast was great but it wasn't enough seating. Some patrons were occupying tables being on phones an computers or just chatting with each other so i had too take the kids breakfast to go

The room was very nice and clean. I loved the fact that they had the brand Dove as it’s my favorite shampoo, lotion and soap. Everything was just perfect.

Our real only complaint was our door to our unit had quite a large gap on the latch side, which allowed a lot of sound in. We mentioned this to the front desk and she said they will look at it. Other than that no issues during our 9 night stay.

The staff was absolutely lovely aside from the breakfast attendants. The front desk, and cleaning staff were kind warm and treats us beautifully. The room was big. The pool was cold but it’s January! There was a planned power outage so that was not fun-however-the power came on early which was a blessing. The surrounding area is slightly disturbing with a small homeless population of which many are addicts.

After spending a long day at SeaWorld, we checked into the hotel. I was very tired and exhausted and the process was so fast and simple and the clerks were so nice and sympathetic for my tiredness. Our room was beautiful and the temperature was perfect. It was very refreshing large and clean. Hot free breakfast in the morning is always a plus at any hotel. The breakfast hours were from 6 to 10 AM which is a little bit longer than normal and I appreciated it because my kids were hard to wake up! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family and I plan on staying there again on any business I do in San Diego. The location was perfect less than 2 miles from Seaworld less than 5 miles from the beach. Lots of food options around the area as well.

Room was next to either an auto detail shop or body shop and was loud during early morning. We were told of a planned power outage on our last night there and prepped for keeping devices fully charged, bags packed while the lights were on. This cut into our last day visiting San Diego. Then there was no outage. It was fine but definitely an inconvenience. The area was centrally located to everything and that was nice but it didn’t feel the safest and it isn’t walkable to anything because of traffic and highways. Staff were nice and breakfast was sufficient!

The breakfast was nice as all Holiday Inn's. Only thought people may complain the food was cold, not hot. What I noticed is guest did not close the lids, therefore the food would cool off quickly.

Our room felt like home. The hotel was close to Sea World and had lots of restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly. Our room was tidied up daily and was restocked with fresh towels. Breakfast was well stocked and had good variety. We stayed at several hotels during our vacation and this was our favorite. Would stay here again if we come back to San Diego.

Room was clean the a/c wasn’t working was able to press the button on the outlet plug in order for it to turn on. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was alright. The dining tables were dirty. Wasn’t much options to choose from but was alright. Didn’t use pool/hot tub. Was disturbed twice for other guests thinking it was there room. Overall, stay was alright.

The staff was friendly and helpful, allowing us to check in about 30 minutes early without an extra charge. The room was clean and spacious and seemed fairly up to date. Even though our room faced the highway, we did not notice a lot of noise. Breakfast what's better than anticipated with plenty of hot and cold choices. The only minor complaint was the first night we were there, the cable TV would lose signal on all channels for random amounts of time and then come back on. Problem was resolved by the second day.

Unfortunately, security was a bit of an issue as the outer doors didn’t lock/unlock properly. So other people would prop the door open. The room was nice but I wish they put a little more into noise reduction. Street and freeway noise was quite high. Walls and doors are very thin so you can hear everyone all the time.

Staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Room was comfortable, A/C blowing cold and plenty of parking. They had breakfast and the room had a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, but beware. This hotel is super close to Sea World and as you might imagine it was filled with families with small children. Children running amuck in the hallways and around the breakfast dining area. Yelling and screaming. Tantrums. Jumping on the beds and it sounding like Wrestlemania. This is not the hotel's fault, but we just needed a little R&R, and the parents of these children were not as responsible as they should have been. If you have little kids and are going to Sea World...you'll fit right in. Everyone else...peace might be difficult.

Our kid loves Seaworld so we booked this hotel based on proximity. It has free breakfast, free parking, a small pool, a small gym, and really hot water. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. We found a lot of good food near the area like Phil’s bbq, King Crab, and So Good Thai. There’s a massage place right across the street. The area has city vibes and homeless people a few streets down but the hotel seemed pretty safe and we had no issues as we drove everywhere. I would book here again. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

We just stayed overnight, barely 12 hours, but it was a pleasant experience. The front desk person, Jomar, was very friendly and efficient. The room with 2 queen beds & sofa was pretty spacious and the bathroom looks like it was recently renovated. Dove soaps and body wash dispensers, lots of counter space for the four of us. Water pressure was low but manageable. Breakfast was decent, with a good variety of options. The elevator is kinda slow but not a big deal, and the parking lot is tight, but also not a big deal as there's easy street parking too. Would stay here again if we're in San Diego in the future!

The doors are constantly slamming,,very noisy. Right when you get to sleep, someone’s door will slam, and wake you up, startled! One of the lightbulbs in the area by the coffee kept flickering on and off, which was annoying.

I would like to thank the staff at the breakfast kitchen for working diligently and efficiently, serving many guests beyond capacity with dedication and patience. The variety of the breakfast menu was excellent. The front desk staff were very accommodating and courteous. Room cleaning could use slight improvement, particularly with the daily refill of sanitary items, water, and coffee. The hotel would also benefit from noise-reduction windows, as sirens and traffic outside can be disruptive. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would love to return to this property.

The price that I paid was not what I initially thought it would be charges, Otherwise, I would’ve booked another place. We stayed two instead of the 3 nights I originally reserved because the 3rd night was super high for the price. Other than that, it was ok and the breakfast was a nice variety of hot and cold in the mornings.

The room was large and had all the amenities! Fridge/microwave/hair dryer/iron and iron board, closet space, desk, tv, lounge chair, super cold AC, and lots of fluffy pillows. The continental breakfast was amazing and staff also let me get some milk outside of breakfast hours for my toddler. I was super appreciative of that. There is always coffee 24/7 and snacks for purchase. Also-huge bonus-parking is free!!! BUT if you are afraid of tight spaces-use the extra parking on the north side of the hotel, not the under the hotel spots. All of them look like they are only fit for fiats. I would not trust myself or kiddos coming out of a car for that matter.

This property was well maintained and the rooms were fresh and comfortable. The staff were friendly and did a great job keeping the property clean and inviting. We really enjoyed the free breakfast...great select each day and plenty to go around considering how busy the dinning area became.

overall this hotel served the purpose of our trip, literally 3 mins from Sea world and very close to other attractions we visited. Clean hotel, nice and friendly staff. Hot breakfast in the morning, clean and comfortable beds. however, it is not the hotel to stay and relax in, little rough area around, parking was tight if coming later at night, but lots of space if parking during the day.

The one pool was unusable the entire time due to foul filthy water that would likely get it shut down by a health inspector. The jacuzzi was also deceptively advertised. The actual size was for maybe 3 people. The parking spaces were sized for golf carts. If you do not have to stay at this hotel… Don’t.

Parking cramped. Area is rough. Our 3rd floor window overlooked a junk yard it seemed. Not safe and surprisingly high reviews for such a sketchy area. We got what we paid for but overall disappointing. Pool and spa is also cramped.

Best hotel if the amusement park is the reason for your visit. Conveniently 8 minutes from seaworld and 18 minutes from the zoo. Hotel is across the street from a grocery store and a 24 hour Dennys. Clean rooms, clean pool area nice and nice front desk at check in.

It’s a nice and very clean place to stay with the kids. It’s close to SeaWorld and most shopping stores. The breakfast was okay, but overall, we liked it we’re adding two more days.

The bathroom had mold on the walls. The A/C unit rattled all night it was miserable to try to sleep- tossed and turned the bed you can feel it slopes in the middle. The room and the whole hotel smelled like “old people” like a hospital or old folks home. (Love old people but this is the best way to phrase it) When asked for extra towels they said we need to write down how many and sign them off they track towels very seriously. The clean towels they restocked in the bathroom had long black hairs inner twined - very gross. We paid a decent amount for what we hoped for a pretty basic experience. One women was very sweet at the front desk but we did get a rude staff member at the front desk that was short and gave attitude. Did not take pictures but spend a little more and go somewhere else

Honestly the stay was amazing! We stayed for about 4 days and each day we had breakfast which was super delicious! Our room was clean and fresh towels each day we came back. Only problem we really had was the parking. The parking spaces were small and some of the guests would double park, but all in all we would definitely stay again.

Parking is a bit small but the area is close to most activities and attractions.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It’s in a very convenient area. Close to food/restaurants, and stores all within walking distance. The beaches and Sea World about 5-7 mins driving. The airport is about 11 mins driving with no traffic. Staff are very friendly. Hotel is a little hidden from main street view and parking area can be difficult to park your car due to pillars/posts in the way. Breakfast was good every morning. Go around 7:00am to get good seating as it has limited seating. If you find breakfast area seating full just take your food to your room. I give it a 9 out of 10 rating.

Rooms were very spacious

The location was convenient and close to many things. The area around the property was okay. The staff and house keeping were nice and attentive. The property was clean. Morning breakfast was great for our 4 teenage boys. Our boys enjoyed the gym and hot tub. 😊

Very clean room. Good and tasty breakfast options

Staff was very friendly and the property was very clean. My only complaints are that it’s tricky to find, it’s not the best neighborhood and there is a dog daycare next door (poolside room) that was loud with dogs barking. If that would bother you, ask for a room far away from the pool.

The only thing that was slightly tough for us was the parking, due to bigger cars, other than that we had no issues at all, everything was great and will be coming back again

This Holiday Inn is in a great spot. Great places near by. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The whole building smelled and looked clean. Parking availability was great as well.

The front desk is rude. We were at a sleepover. I paid for the room online. My husband and small kids checked in and they wanted payment again so it held funds we needed for our trip because even though they charged me the insisted on charging us again on a new card. I even talked on the phone and offered a photo ID and card picture. Little kids wait for me to have to come and take care of it. Ridiculous.

Hotel is very convenient for SeaWorld. Very clean and spacious rooms with nice breakfast included. Area around hotel is unremarkable for a first class city like San Diego.

Nice room weird guy

Our stay was great. The location was scary at first, but ideal for sea world and the san diego zoo. the parking garage was a tight squeezebut managable for our large rental. The coffee was always fresh in the lobby and the breakfast was wonderful to wake up to. The hotel was very clean, there were perple cleaning all the time, Out of the 3 hotels we stayed at over the week, this was the best!

Checking in was quick and staff was very friendly. The room was very clean! The beds were so comfortable, it took our shower a while for the water to get warm but once it did it was great. Breakfast was delicious. Parking spots are pretty small and covered is limited but they do have additional parking that’s uncovered. Overall I’d definitely stay here again!

Run down hotel in a shady area. Breakfast was fine but there was literally nowhere to sit in the lobby.
