Clean rooms and perfect location
- 3/5
Don't take the ground floor rooms. You can hear every step. We had young children staying above us and the staff tried to have them not to jump on the floors and rolling their luggage back and forth across the floor. But we still were awaken a 5 am with the running and jumping. Not pleased.
- 5/5
A great stay for me at the Inn at Sunset Cliffs OB. Such a cozy place right on the ocean. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you Sunset Cliffs!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. The flowers and landscaping in the courtyard are so beautiful. The view of the ocean is great. The view of the sunset from there is next none. Such a friendly staff. You can walk to a nice little coffee shop/cafe. There is also a small convenience store across the street. The beds are very comfortable and a very clean room. Will definitely stay there again!!!
- 5/5
Amazing location and beach view
- 5/5
We stayed for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The pool was an excellent amenity! The location cannot be beaten - quiet and far from city noise. We walked to the town center each night for food and drink - about a 15 minute walk through beautiful trees and homes. The sunset cliff park was a short walk and each night we watch the beautiful sunset! The bus stop across the street came in handy for exploring other sights - 30 minute ride to Balboa Park!
- 5/5
Excellent customer support, great view.
- 5/5
Small but well stocked
- 4/5
Parking was a little challenging and the rooms don’t have AC. Most nights it was fine, but we had one hot night and the direction of our room didn’t give us much of a breeze.
- 5/5
Super helpful and friendly staff at the front desk. Beautiful courtyard, lush with flowers. Awesome ocean view from the deck. Great location to visit San Diego and La Jolla. Steps away from the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park in Ocean Beach. Would definitely recommend to friends, family, and clients. Great stay all around.
- 5/5
Place was beautiful and staff was great will return soon!
- 5/5
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The property is beautiful, the gardens are full of the most amazing smelling flowers, I have never seen a hotel like it. There are so many comfortable chairs and sofas to relax on and watch the sunset. The air conditioning was extremely effective and quiet. The room has a good sized under-counter fridge with an ice-tray compartment. There is a coffee maker, microwave, wine glasses. The bed was comfortable. I didn’t want to leave and would return in a heartbeat if even We are back in San Diego. It was the best hotel in our 4 week tour of the west coast.
- 5/5
Clean, well maintained property right on the ocean. Really nice patio to hang out near the seawall and watch the ocean. Quiet. Ocean breezes and comfortable rooms and suites.
- 5/5
Amazing ocean cliff views!! The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks literally put me to sleep; some of the best sleep of my life! Parking can get tricky, but seems like that’s normal for the Ocean Beach neighborhood. Can’t wait to stay there again. I hope to make this an annual stay!
- 5/5
I love this hotel so much! This will be our 2nd time staying there & it definitely won't be our last! It is perfectly located near all the beaches & fun activities in SD. I love how Sunset Cliffs is within a 2 minute walking distance which is what keeps us coming back. The staff is always nice, & welcoming. The property & garden is very well kept. Next time the beach view is the room i would want. The pool view is great too since it is close to the entrance for us smokers it makes it easy to get in & out. I have no complaints about the times I have stayed here.
- 4/5
This hotel was awesome. Right on the edge of the beach, internet was great, so clean, so fresh. The heated pool was a nice touch. I think the only negative I had was the lower deck made things look run down and trashy. On their website it says you can go down stairs to the ocean, but everything was closed off. There were also signs everywhere about the rules. Overall I would stay here again- its just the lower deck needs to be fixed.
- 5/5
Beautiful views
- 5/5
What a cute well Maintained property! Love all the flowers and sitting on patio soaking up the oceans vast beauty ! Short walk to the cliffs and just can’t say how much I love it in the OB! Till we meet again I would definitely stay at this property over and over !
- 5/5
Such a cute little place. We were here with kids, but would love to come back on a couples trip! The staff was awesome.

Booked a 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen for 3 nights. But in the middle of our only full day that we had to enjoy time, we were called and told that we needed to get our stuff out immediately when we were 40 minutes away at the zoo. Their hotel system showed only 2 nights. Even though I sent them the proof from Expedia of my reservation. Then said they would go move our stuff for us to another room or we needed to come move immediately. We had no option. We had to allow strangers to go through our stuff. They put us on the second floor even though I'm in a Mobility device. They literally packed all of our stuff in random bags and carried it upstairs. They put us in a room with two bedrooms that had queen beds, smaller than the ones that we were previously in. Creaky and loud. I also paid for a two-room suite with a full kitchen. This had no kitchen, just a mini fridge and a microwave. The living room is also half the size of the original room. The beds were squeaky. No bedding for the fold out bed. The bathroom had no water pressure and a screw sticking out of the drain. Several toiletries missing. I spent 3 of our 5 hours at the zoo (almost $80 a person to get in) dealing with the hotel and Expedia. It completely ruined our day. Then they charged me more for the lesser room than the suite. Zero customer service. Zero responsibility for messing up our trip. They had a wedding and obviously messed up their room assignments. So, they screwed us over instead. We were there to

The location was beautiful. The sunsets stunning and the staff beyond friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The staff were helpful, location was perfect, heated pool, and beautiful view to the beach. Not much more to ask for.

- 5/5
Such a calm and beautiful spot. I’d return here without a second thought.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, nice neighborhood, walkable to the beach, beautiful view
- 5/5
Great location, no bar on site but many local bars nearby.
- 5/5
The location cannot be beat: the inn is right at the cliffs, overlooking the Pacific. We stayed on the second floor in a larger room with two bedrooms and were very comfortable. The room was clean and well appointed and the staff was wonderful. There's a heated pool on the property with basketball hoops, so our kids spent hours playing. In the morning, we walked from the hotel all the way to the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park -- what a vacation!
- 5/5
We LOVE this place! The ocean is 10 steps from your bedroom door!
- 4/5
Really friendly welcome to the hotel from the staff. Lovely room good parking fantastic location.
- 5/5
Not much parking we had to park on the street one night
- 5/5
The Courtyard is gorgeous. There's so many seating options to watch the ocean that's RIGHT there. Staff was wonderful at check in and gave details on the pet rescue event they had going on outside. Parking is first come first served for the spots and then street parking. Room was perfect and spacious
- 5/5
The pool was very popular with the children on spring break. The sunset view over the Pacific is perfect. There is a lot of nice seating on the deck. The staff was very helpful and available!!! He set up fire pits in the evening and provided smores packets.
- 4/5
Super cute, hip, hotel with beautiful grounds and the best view of the ocean. The kids loved the pool and all the pool amenities. Drink your beverage by the firepit for the best sunset view! The only reason why I would give it four stars, is because it could use some updating, but it appears the owners are making an effort.
- 5/5
One of our favorite hotels! Unbeatable views and always great!
- 5/5
For those of us who do not like the big chain hotels, this Inn was a gem! It was clean, a great location with kind and accommodating staff. The patio ocean view was perfect with stairs to a cove one block away. The pool was clean and warm, and the incredible fragrance of the rose trees greeted us each time we went through the doors into the central garden area. Delightful!
- 5/5
Garden was beautiful, pool was a nice 90 degrees and very clean.
- 3/5
Disappointed they would not turn the propane heaters on the patio. I asked staff and he said he didn’t even know they had them I showed him the two heaters and said we could not use them.
- 5/5
Amazing Ocean view. The courtyard is beautiful and well kept. The pool is heated. The staff was very helpful. We had the 2 room suite for a family of 5 and it worked, but was a bit snug.
- 4/5
Room a bit warm. AC unit takes so long to cool the room.
- 5/5
So peaceful and super sweet staff. The pool was nice and warm and the outside seating was so beautiful. Definitely coming back!
- 5/5
Wonderful view of the ocean
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful. Hats off to the staff. We will for sure be coming back to stay at the Inn at Sunset Cliffs. Thanks for everything you did.
- 5/5
Spotless
- 3/5
Room decor and furniture was outdated. Bed was most similar to an air mattress. Couch was a bit dirty and need replaced. The seat cushion sunk to the floor
- 5/5
The staff was helpful and very nice. The room was clean. We stayed in the two bedroom and it was so spacious. This is an older property but they take good care of it. You can sit and watch the sunset every day without leaving the property. Wonderful. I definitely hope to be able to stay here again in the future.
- 5/5
Beautiful and friendly staff
- 5/5
The gentleman that checked us in was fantastic!
- 5/5
Excellent experience and great staffs
- 5/5
The view was perfect
- 5/5
The staff here are always cheerful, attentive and helpful! The ocean view deck is beautiful (even on a 60 degree day), the pool is well-kept, and the neighborhood is interesting and fun. Definitely want to return!
- 5/5
I stayed in the smallest room they offer, and the footprint is small but very well thought out, I especially love the full size closet with mirrored doors. The bathroom is also very smart, I absolutely love that the shower door can swing outward AND inward, so after the shower I can leave the door inside to drip dry and not have a wet floor. And clean. Oh my goodness, everything in the room is spotless. The public areas are the same. The glass wall never had a fingerprint on it, the pool surround was the same. The little courtyard was an oasis of calm with so many comfy seating options and spaces. I can't wait to come back next year!
- 5/5
Comfortable clean and a view you will remember for the rest of your life
- 5/5
Oh the sunsets oh the sunsets! Heated pool, wonderful staff and nearby restaurants. All good!
- 4/5
the ocean view
- 5/5
Updated beautiful rooms, even some garden/pool views have views of the ocean. You’re right up against the ocean and can hear the waves at night with the windows open. Gated complex, in a quiet part of town. Next door we had breakfast to go and brought back to eat the on the patio overlooking the ocean. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
We may have not gotten the recently remodeled room but nothing beats the sound of the ocean lullabying you to sleep and the 2 bedroom suite and pull out couch allowed each of my kids to have their own space. They even put a happy birthday banner over our room to make this trip even more extra special.
- 5/5
Great location, staff was so friendly and courteous, and amazing views!
- 5/5
Great location. Quiet and peaceful but close to good nightlife
- 5/5
We had such a wonderful experience, we stayed in the 2 bed suite. My kids loved this property and asked when we could return. The check in process was so easy and the attendant was so kind and attentive. It was my daughter’s bday and they put up a special birthday banner.
- 2/5
Not clean. Very worn down. Hair dryer was rusted. Housekeeping kept knocking on our door when we were there. NO amenities. Not a nice comfortable place to stay. Not worth it. Will be posting bad reviews everywhere I can about this place. Waste of money.
- 5/5
This whole hotel and experience was lovely. Everything was clean and everyone was wonderful. I highly recommend.
- 3/5
Room refrigerator can be cleand out befor staying

Yes
- 5/5
The rooms are extra ordinarily clean. Will consider coming back again.
- 5/5
Very good experience, would recommend to others.
- 5/5
Cool location and vibe here
- 3/5
I stayed here a few times and got the same room same plumbing problems as before. When you take a shower it's either hot or cold no in between, it doesn't drain well so you're standing in a foot of water while you're taking a shower. Beds are very uncomfortable but the view is absolutely phenomenal. It's worth it. I'll come back again. It's got a really good vibe
- 4/5
Hoel Parking was limited but it was not hard to find a place to park on the street
- 5/5
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Must stay experience and views
- 4/5
Nothing fancy, great location, friendly staff. That's all I need.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing

Great stay at Sunset Cliffs Inn. Very clean, easy walkability to restaurants, coffee shops and ocean hikes. Will stay again.

Room was comfotable and clean. Great location right on the water with chairs set up to enjoy the view.
- 5/5
Spacious room , and clean , very close to the ocean .
- 5/5
Front desk clerk was very pleasant and explained everything. When I got to my room, it was exceptionally clean and larger than expected.
- 5/5
Small but functional. His and her same shower. Clean and modern updates. Friendly staff. Great location. Can hear people above us.
- 5/5
This is the most delightful beachfront hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was so charming, welcoming, and clean. We could easily walk to several attractions and enjoyed the nearby restaurants.
- 5/5
Perfect location, units are clean and comfy. Highly recommend- will definitely be back!
- 5/5
I parked onthe street, only three spots, but they had additional limited parking onthe sidestreet
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
This place is clean, cozy, and charming. And the views are stunning.
- 5/5
Love hearing the ocean waves as I fall asleep and as I rise. The staff is lovely too. Thank you all for all you do.
- 5/5

The room was very quaint, the living room had nice furniture gave a tropical feel,. The Bathroom was spot on two shower heads water was Hot. And the heated pool,. the bedroom Very nice bed was firm pillows were perfect ,. again would stay again and would recommend
- 5/5
The room was cute, quaint and clean! The staff were so amazing and nice. They remembered to ask me about my events that were part of my trip. The room was a bit small and you could easily hear things in the next rooms but the atmosphere and people made up for it! AND should I mention it is right on the water with an amazing view!!!!
- 5/5
We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which included a full kitchen. We had 5 adults 1 child and a baby. There was plenty of storage and room for all of us. The staff was awesome! Everyone was very accommodating. There to help or assist you 24/7.
- 5/5
I love the comfort and staff were friendly and professional
- 5/5
Terrell Cooper was amazing! Helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Terrell catered to us for a more relaxing, enjoyable, restful trip. If only all stays had a Terrell.
- 4/5
A bit of noise from neighbours but we had a lovely stay
- 4/5
Love the cliffs and good restaurants around it
- 5/5
Everything was picture perfect and more than i expected!
- 5/5
Parking was first come first serve which they didn’t have really enough parking for the people that stayed at the hotel but it was a quaint, beautiful little quiet place right on the ocean
- 5/5
I love the rooms and location. Beautiful views & heated saltwater pool are just bonuses. As always, the staff is very friendly.
- 5/5
RIGHT next to the water! Wow! Loved the garden and the patio furniture and just walking straight out to a beautiful view in the morning. Sitting and enjoying the sunset! Right next to Sunset Cliffs. What a great little place!
- 5/5
Staff was great. Location was great. Property was awesome.
- 5/5
We were allowed an early check-in to "freshen" up for my nephew's wedding. The staff was wonderful. Our room was changed from a second floor room to a first floor room which made bringing our luggage in and out of the room so easy. The room was clean and ready for us. The whole experience was fantastic.
- 2/5
The “hotel” was a bit disappointing. It looked so much better in pictures. The rooms were old and on the smaller side. Parking on the side of the hotel was really tight. The
- 5/5
For the view alone, we'll be coming back! We love the totally chill neighborhood vibe without the tourist glitz. The roses surrounding the pool have clearly been loved for decades. Great attentive staff. Easy parking and gorgeous sunsets. Really quite fab! We got the 2 bdm suite to have a sitting room, which we will do again.
- 5/5
Great great stay at this cute property. Love to the location and my room was perfect.
- 5/5
Absolutely super! Everything was great!
- 5/5
We loved all the flowers in the outdoor courtyard. Falling asleep listening to the Ocean was absolutely incredible and you have a front row view to watch the sunset. The staff are incredible, they are friendly and helpful. The room was very cute and comfortable. We will definitely be back to this property on our next trip to San Diego!!
- 3/5
Was not as described, rooms small, uncomfortable beds, pool closed one of the days, areas closed. Were planning to charge to use patio heating!
- 5/5
The property is beautifully maintained, and the staff were so friendly! Our room was clean and had mulitple ammenities like a fridge, and coffee maker!
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 5/5
We’ve continued coming to this wonderful little gem on the cliffs! What a lovely place to relax, take a dip in the heated pool and watch the sunset!!
- 4/5
The view is the best. Hotel is pretty good as well.
- 5/5
Amazing staff and amazing stay! Super convenient!!!
- 4/5
Ocean view great. Lots of street noise.
- 3/5
Staff was nice and check in/out was quick and convenient. The stairs to the deck were closed off to repairs and I was pretty disappointed about that. Still a decent view of the cliffs. Very walkable area and ocean beach is about 15 minutes away. Probably wouldn’t stay here again but it’s cute and nice enough.
- 3/5
Two bedroom suite was nice. View on the property was nice. Bottom area still under construction so no go there. The shower didn’t drain. The front desk people were all real nice though. Overall it was decent , quiet , but not worth the price. It’s not super walkable to OB unless you are active. Which was fine for me. Parking was hit or miss. But crazy expensive.
- 5/5
Beautiful view
- 2/5
We had a 1 bdrm suite that smelled awful - damp and moldy. The extra room was nice, but the decor was OLD and needed upgrading and the AC didn’t cool the bedroom so it was never very comfortable. This place needs a remodel. Had we not been with friends, we probably would have left. Not worth $310.
- 5/5
Nice place great view
- 5/5
This is a cute place on cliffs above the beach. The rooms are cute, very clean and comfortable. There is an absolutely beautiful garden in the center courtyard, with a heated pool beyond it, and a patio area with comfortable chairs.
- 5/5
Such a cute little boutique hotel! Overlooking the cliffs in the beach. I love that It was one block walk to a little local beach. There was entertainment by the pool on Saturday. The pool was fun. The kids loved it. It’s so cute and decorated and the flowers are so pretty. We will definitely be back.!
- 5/5
Perfect location for us-- relaxing, quiet, spectacular view, very walkable and/or a short drive away from anything you need. 10/10 for us, can't wait to go back!
- 5/5
We loved cliff jumping at high tide and the private little cove for swimming and playing in the waves!
- 5/5
Very nice! Enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and then quietly watching the sunset from the pool area
- 5/5
I booked this place as a birthday gift because it was near Sunset Cliffs. I called to see if we could do early check. The front desk staff was very professional and nice. She had housekeeping work on it, and we were able to check in 2 hrs before. The room had ac and large enough space for the two of us. Lighting was well lit. It had a microwave, mini fridge, 2 wine glasses, wine opener, and coffee maker. Bathroom was fully equipped w/ the essentials. The pool and lounge furniture was a great touch for relaxing. We had a meal out there overlooking the ocean. There was parking spaces by the garage on first come firat serve. If it is full, we just parked on the road. Overall, we were happy with our stay. We would definitely book again.
- 4/5
Hotel has historic charm, a dramatic setting on Sunset Cliffs, and a magnificent outdoor lounge right on the cliffs. 4 stars only because the mattress could have been firmer. We’ll definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
We had a 2 bedroom unit and it was perfect for our family. Location, location! Terrace was a great spot to admire the ocean and sunsets. Great insulation- outside noise disappears once windows are closed. Pool is heated and had pool toys for the kids. No air conditioning in the bedrooms but plenty of fans. When hotel lot was full, it was easy to find free street parking. Would love to stay there again.
- 5/5
Loved our stay. We will be back next year.
- 5/5
Celebrating my mom’s 80th birthday
- 5/5
Staff was amazing!
- 5/5
We enjoyed this place it was very relaxing and nice area to go for a walk and enjoy the views
- 5/5
Amazing location, all staff was attentive and helpful
- 5/5
Great Location
- 4/5
The inn at Sunset Cliffs was nice, but not what I expected. The room a little cozier than expected, with no chair to sit on, no ice bucket, and no snacks or drinks nearby. We had to walk a little distance to get something to eat, or else take an Uber. Other than that, it was a great stay.
- 5/5
A great place for a quite, comfortable getaway! I would recommend this anyone and plan on coming back :)
- 4/5
Awesome
- 5/5
Loved the views. Very clean. Beautiful flowers and great outdoor seating. So helpful!
- 5/5
Great quiet peaceful place to stay
- 5/5
Loved this quaint hotel! Staff were wonderful. I would say the one thing is that there are areas in the pictures where there are lounge chairs... those areas are off limits due to erosion, which I didn't expect. However great location! Walked everywhere! (.75 to ocean beach) I recommend!
- 5/5
I'll be back! This place is a hidden gem.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Beautiful well maintained property. Pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean was awesome. Staff was friendly and always very helpful. We had a fantastic stay and it's close to OB and all of the dining options. We will stay here again on our next visit !!!
- 5/5
Loved our stay and cant wait to stay again
- 5/5
Nice location and beautiful view of the ocean and sunset!
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
Pretty quiet, small/cozy, great view of the ocean. The TV internet didnt work so couldnt connect a streaming platform. Filtered water in lobby ia convenient. Would stay again and would recommend
- 5/5
100% recommend
- 5/5
Beautiful property with stunning views and amazing staff. Highly recommend
- 3/5
First off, the desk person who greeted us, Terrell was rude and impatient. I tried to ask him questions and he talked down to me like I was bothering him. He rolled his eyes at me and wouldn’t even let me finish asking my question before he rudely interrupted me and spoke to me in a condescending manner. When I paid for the room at check in, he never gave me a receipt and didn’t bother to tell me there would be a $25/day charge for incidentals. Now I know there’s usually charges when you check into a hotel, but not providing a copy of the form I signed at check in or mentioning the charges was careless on his part. He told me I’d get a receipt upon checkout. The single queen room is very small. There’s no chair in the room if you don’t mind sitting on the bed. The windows and doors have blinds, but tinting the windows and doors for privacy and keeping the room cool would make better sense. The parking is only 10 spaces in 10 different driveways. If you don’t get there in time to get a driveway, you have to park in the street. The driveways where you park are poorly lit and the hotel seems too cheap to install any lighting back there for its guests! The pool hrs are from 9am to 9pm- but when we got back to our room at 9:40 pm to go to sleep, there were people still in the pool - so they obviously don’t enforce that particular rule! Ots an ok place to stay but not my 1st choice!
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful, especially the sunsets!
- 5/5
Truly a beautiful location overlooking the sunset cliffs. The rooms are awesome for a family with multiple rooms and a foldout couch. Grounds are lovely. Hotel had live music on the weekend which was cool. We will be back
- 5/5
Had a wonderful stay. Views and sunset were amazing.
- 5/5
Overall we had a great time, the hotel is cute and cozy. Only issue we had were that the Queen bed was a little stiff.
- 4/5
We had a great stay and wish I we could have extended it for one more night. I would have given 5 stars, but the shower drain was very slow. Other than that, everything was wonderful. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to relax by the ocean!
- 5/5
It was a great location for a generations family vacations. My 75years+ parents were able to enjoy beach views comfortably. For the rest of us, restaurants, beach access, and shopping were a pleasant 20 minute walk. Full kitchens, dog friendly, friday night live acoustic guitar in the courtyard. It's a perfect place for family time.
- 5/5
This is a quaint stay out of the main tourist drag of Ocean Beach. Come out one way and walk along the cliffs, and walk the other way to find plenty of cute indie restaurants and shops, all within a 10 minute drive of downtown San Diego. The staff are super friendly, the pool is good fun for kids and the views out over the ocean are incredible. You can also rent beach things (body boards, umbrellas, chairs) by the day to make your stay even better!
- 5/5
We found the property clean and beautiful. The staff was very helpful. We look forward to coming back next year.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Perfect location and excellent service. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Very quaint place to stay with excellent views of the ocean. Nice and relaxing with heated pool and lounge chairs. Less than a mile walk to several dining options.
- 5/5
GREAT view and location! We loved the neighborhood and community-feel of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
decent place obviously renovated but still had that creepy motel feel. It was clean and the views are amazing, furniture outside were kinda rough. I understand these are next to sea water and hard to keep immaculate. our bed was awful super low to the ground small bathroom, just kinda creepy motel feel lol but was clean so don’t want to be to hard on them.
- 5/5
Absolutely love the views here, and the live music was so beautiful… definitely set the vibes. Would recommend any family to stay here.
- 5/5
The Inn was really close to the Sunset Cliffs Park, the roooms were nice and the view is amazing! Iron and board weren't functional and pool needs a little tlc but I would return.
- 5/5
Great stay. Heated pool. Ocean cliffs were beautiful. Great place to walk. Beautiful sites. One small restaurants close, good but a bit expensive. Driving distance to Mexican food and others.
- 5/5
Great staff, friendly and helpful. Nearby restaurants, and beach, tide pools ect... Definitely planning on a return visit to this area.
- 5/5
It was a beautiful Estheticly. Inside was nice and comfy. Customer service was good. Only problem was TV in bedroom was not working properly. Did not get assistance when verbally requested. Otherwise it was a beautiful place looking over the over the cliffs. Would definitely be back.
- 5/5
Cute little hotel with a great view of the ocean. Staff was super friendly and rooms were great. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
this place is amazing it could not have been a better stay !!
- 3/5
I loved the view and the room. I only ever encountered one staff member. When I checked in the staff member was very rude told me to silence my phone then got mad my card was declined. I told him I need to accept charge with phone but did not get notification because he had me silence it. Then there was a wedding there and people were parking without parking pass when I mentioned it to him he said its first come first serve and when I asked why is there permits he told me to calm down.
- 5/5
Fantastic view. Nice room. Homey
- 4/5
We’ve stayed at this hotel many times in the passes 2 years . It’s always beautiful there . Rated 4 stars just because we had an issue with our door and wish they have curtains to make the rooms less bright in the morning.
- 4/5
Cute little place. Could use some renovation and mattress toppers. The beds were a little uncomfortable. Loved having the ocean so close! Staff was so nice and accommodating.

Ellie was just amazing from start to finish! The personal service made this stay worthwhile! I was treated like royalty by the staff and I was beyond satisfied! Solo birthday staycation getaway and they went above and beyond for me! Small hotel made it feel like home. Amazing atmosphere and views. Excellent area close to great food and the beach is a spit from my room! I WILL return! 5 stars!!

It's on the beach but no beach access from the hotel. It's different than we were expecting. Also the outlets in the room where hard to reach and the pool was heated slightly could have been heated better. All in all nice view but that's about it. Two shower heads in the shower was nice.

I enjoyed the stay with my family so much. It’s very relaxing and very nice. Katie was so amazing super helpful and very kind. The only thing I would recommend is to verify what is the room you reserved because Expedia said a different room then what I had actually booked beside that I recommend.

This property was perfect for graduation weekend! Easy to get to our daughter’s apartment but we also got to have the ocean view and fall asleep to the sound of the waves breaking. We loved the outdoor seating and the pool was an added bonus. We loved having separate bedrooms and a living room area so we could all have our space. We would love to stay there again!

Adore this property, flowers are beautiful and so close to OB!

The Inn is in a residential neighborhood and you do hear occasional traffic from the streets. Loud cars, radio blaring, etc. If that type of thing bothers you, keep looking. But its a beautiful neighborhood, lots of places to walk to. The employees were outstanding- Katie at the front desk went above and beyond and we really appreciated her. Seriously cannot wait to visit again. ⛱️

Great view overall a great experience

Room was very small and mattress was very uncomfortable. View and parking were great.

The location was great, staff were very friendly, and the room perfectly suited our needs. The two criticisms are that the shower was pretty dirty and smelled of mold/mildew - perhaps just the byproduct of being in a coastal, humid area. Additionally it was in a pretty loud area so could hear lots of street traffic, and a big truck idled outside of the window for about 20 minutes one night.

The tile walking up to office and door to the rooms, had big broken uneven tiles. My sister tripped on uneven tile and tried not to fall , but she did fall and even hit her head on the glass door entrance and had abrasions on her foot. The office worker came out to assist us, which was appreciated. The office worker said he would notify owner of tiles. Thank goodness my sister is ok( she is 73), and she was not seriously hurt and no broken bones. She could have been seriously hurt. The tiles are a huge hazard and should be repaired .

Excellent location next to Sunset Cliffs Natural Park with outstanding views of the Pacific Ocean.

This is a very cute little hotel. The staff is very friendly & room was clean & fresh. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the patio in the sun. There are several non-chain coffee/bistro type places within walking distance of the hotel tha offered good food & friendly service. Our only complaint was the beds were not very comfortable. It felt like there was little or no padding over the springs. The patio furniture could use a refresh also. We would stay here again if we have the opportunity to vist San Diego again. Loved the area!

right on the ocean, great view

I will start off by saying that, overall, our stay was very good. At my first impression, the property appeared smaller and shabbier than what is portrayed in the picture. However, it is a seaside inn, so weathering is to be expected. The pool is very small, but heated. (We did not use due to the temperature being a bit too cool.) The proximity to the Sunset Cliffs, Newport Beach, and various other attractions are a definitely plus. We had a 1 bedroom which had a full kitchen and living room. The room was clean and a nice space for a couples getaway. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but the linens and bedspread were very nice. The bathroom is small with the door almost hitting the toilet and no real space to put toiletries, however, the dual head shower was nice. My only complaint is that the staff should be more aware of which rooms they are putting groups with young children. We had a family above us that for hours sounded like they were performing a circus act! The children of the same family screamed the entire time they were in the pool which is literally two steps from the door of every room. Also, for those staying soon, they are doing what appears to be strengthening the seawall that lines the hotel, so there will be construction vehicles in any photo you take from the Inn. The workers did not start until around 8, which was fine for us, but just beware if you like to sleep in!!

We stay here every year. The beds are extra comfy and you can't beat the view.

This hotel and staff is absolutely amazing. We absolutely loved our stay, the views were amazing and my girls loved the heated salt water pool! They were working on the lower level deck so there was mild construction, however it did not affect the stay at all.

1. The blow dryer is very noisy but does not effectively dry hair. 2. The shower drainage is quite slow. 3. The Wi-Fi network was inconsistent, slow, and unreliable during half of my stay.

Very clean, friendly staff, amazing views!

Beautiful view of the ocean. Staff was super friendly and helpful!

The waves crashing over the rocks...a heated to 88 degrees pool...next to Lion cafe...walk to downtown... comfortable beds AND pullout couch...this hotel has everything we needed and we were so satisfied and loved OB! Short walk to cliffs and caves. It's was just perfect for us and WE WILL be back!

Views were amazing. Construction was distracting.

I love this cozy little hotel. The staff is so nice, helpful and accommodating. The room is charming and clean. The location is perfect and I love to wake up in the mornings to the sound of the waves hitting the rocks. We spend quite a bit of time in the courtyard since there are plenty of sitting options. I look forward to my next stay.

Pictures look better than the hotel. It was fine.

Beautiful and convenient location! I'm so glad i stayed here. The onyl reason why this isn't getting 5 stars is because there is construction going on that had a pile driver going early in the morning right on the cliff that the hotel sits on. I get migraines so it was terrible for me to wake up to. There was no warning from the hotel in adavnce and i had to oark on the street instead of the reserved spots for the hotel, and I was told as I parked my car for the night that my car might be towed if I parked there, even though the construction is obviously for the hotel.

Parking was terrible. I got a room with two rooms for 4 adults and yet they could only give us one parking permit. My don ended up getting a parking ticket. Also the hot water was out. Fortunately they were able to fix it quickly

The heated pool took 3 days to get heated after asking 3 different employees who never turned the heat on. The tub didn’t drain. There were ants and ant traps in the kitchen. The blinds were thilthy. The exterior of windows so dirty you couldn’t see out of them. The sofa and bed were so old and nasty. Water was shut off for half a day because of a pipe issue. We were asked at night to move our car for construction the next day. Coffee in rooms and lobby were packets of foldgers! Cheers!
