Reviews
Guests consistently praise the hotel's charming decor, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent location. The complimentary breakfast and evening wine hour are also frequently mentioned as highlights. However, some guests have complained about noise from neighboring rooms or the street, and a few have noted that the rooms and furnishings could use some updating.

We are absolutely pleased with our stay at Petite Auberge in SF. Other than some steep stairs to get to our second floor room - the place was perfect for us. So close to the Masonic and Top of the Mark - our reason for our visit. My wife says - she'd go back in a heartbeat.
- 4/5
We enjoyed the stay. Good location, quiet and cozy room, functional wifi, decent morning breakfast. We wished that no a/c was better advertised on Expedia where we booked. I do think we would consider returning to Petite Auberge should we find ourselves in SF again. I'm pending a charge that I expect to "fall off" now that we've checked out and will reach out if it doesn't.

Charming Wes Andersen-esque boutique hotel. Staff were prompt and accommodating. They have a library with a fireplace and the larger rooms have private gas fireplaces. Quaint and comfortable.
- 4/5
It’s a good location and Property overall - choose with the awareness that it’s not one of the modern hotels. Early check out by 1 day, was not refunded upon request. The receptionist cited hotels.com booking for that. You can park at nearby parking garages for half of the price and We suggest buying daily parking pass as they also don’t refund if you cut your trip short.
- 5/5
We stayed in room 10 and had our own private courtyard. The wine & appetizers were an added plus. The location is central so it’s THE PLACE To STAY! Wonderful!!
- 5/5
Convenient; outstanding breakfast
- 4.5/5
The room was great. Really cute and homely. The hotel was in a lovely area close to things to see and they also had free tea and coffee and an alcoholic happy hour each day which was free and very unexpected. If I visited San Francisco’s I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was also simple, but great.
- 5/5
Always a lovely visit. At times difficult to get a reservation - reserve early if possible Parking charge in San Francisco always surprise me.

Nice, quirky little hotel. Clean, good breakfast, good location.
- 4.5/5
Very cute and cozy room! also a really good price. the atmosphere is very cozy and fun for a weekend away with a partner. the rooms were very small, but that is to be expected given the price. the door is also tricky to open so beware. not much to complain about.

Loved my stay and will return!!

- 5/5
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, large charming room, everything worked fine. The space in the room could be better utilized in my opinion, with different or rearranged furniture, but that’s a small bit to pick when our experience was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Union Square area.

Room was great, shower was great, breakfast was great and the staff were great! The bed was extremely soft — so much so that it created a noticeable slope, leaving our heads lower than our feet. A firmer mattress would make for a much more comfortable stay.

The staff was very friendly and had a great vibe. The hotel smells old and is in a significant state of disrepair. All the fabrics on the chairs and armchairs are stained, and the mattresses are worn out — whenever one person moves, the whole bed shakes and wakes up the other person. The breakfast has no cheese, cold cuts, or scrambled eggs. The price-quality ratio is very poor. It is not what is shown in the photos. There is no one at the reception desk; you have to go find someone at another hotel 20 meters away.
- 5/5
Room was well appointed and comfortable. Continental breakfast was great with ample selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lounge areas at Petite Auberge and the White Swan next door were comfy with all-day tea and coffee, bottled water and mineral water. Location was excellent with easy access using Muni day pass ( for cable car, bus and train) to downtown, Fisherman’s Wharf and further afield to Golden Gate Bridge and elsewhere. N/A

Superb

Our room included a deep bathtub, but there was something wrong with the stopping mechanism so I couldn’t figure out how to make it hold water, however, I also didn’t ask — I just took a shower instead. Staff were very hospitable. I checked in late, therefore needed to go next-door to the sister property to have them let me in. FYI: Parking prices are exorbitant. I chose to park elsewhere for half the price. Breakfast was included, and it consisted of different breads & pastries- hard boiled eggs & oatmeal were the only protein options.

The decor, the friendliness and willingness to help of the staff members. The breakfast was lovely and the afternoon cheese and wine was fantastic.
- 5/5
Small rooms and you can hear everything. Only parking available is valet service for $74 per day.
- 4/5
Very old dusty smell, very nice staff though. It is an older hotel so it’s as expected. I did love the fire place and the bed was so comfy
- 4/5
Great character, fire place in the bed room for those chilly evenings, helpful staff and good location. Clean room with good amenities (coffee etc downstairs). A little walk to the main transport routes. Weirdly had the sink outside the bathroom, in the main room (not for everyone). Older building with some squeaky floors, got a little disturbed by late arrivals and early departures from the floor above. A small fridge in the room would have been nice.

Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was good, once I found it. The Auberge has a sister hotel next door…sometimes there’s no one at the Auberge desk and visitors have to go to the hotel next door.

We had a truly relaxing and charming stay in Room 46. The soft mattress made for an excellent night’s sleep, and the atmospheric gas fireplace added a cozy, old-world ambiance—though it’s worth noting it doesn’t provide much actual warmth. The room itself had a lovely, classic chintz charm, and the sunken bath was a real highlight—perfect for unwinding after a long day. Complimentary bottled still and sparkling water was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The location was also a major plus—an excellent base for exploring the city. We felt safe throughout our stay, and it’s conveniently near Union Square, with easy access to trolleys and the vintage cable cars, making it simple to get around and head down to the pier. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast was good—nothing lavish, but satisfying, with particularly excellent pastries. Overall, a beautiful and restful stay with plenty of charm. We would definitely recommend it and would happily return. The only downside was some noise from guests in the room above; we could hear noticeable rumbling at times. Because of this, we’d likely request a room on the top 5th floor next time for a quieter experience.
- 5/5
Location was great. I walked everywhere. The hotel room with a fire place was a nice touch. My room was spotless. There was free water, coffee, tea 24/7. The staff changed the coffee thermos often. I was always able to get a hot cup of coffee at any given time. Staff was lovely. Breakfast and wine staff were hard working, professional and lovely as well as the cleaning staff. If you want to stay at a calm and peaceful hotel that has a lot of charm, this is the place. My mattress was soft, but it’s a personal preference so not a knock against the hotel itself.

- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We absolutely loved the antique charm and character of the building. We chose a room with a fireplace, which made the experience even more cozy and enjoyable. The 24/7 tea and coffee area in the basement was a lovely touch and very convenient. The location was also excellent — just a short walking distance to Union Square, which made exploring the city very easy. The valet service was a bit expensive, but in a city like San Francisco, where car safety can be a concern, it gave us real peace of mind. The hotel staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. As a small suggestion, disposable slippers in the rooms would have been appreciated, and adding a wider variety of cheeses at breakfast could make the experience even better. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return. Thank you for everything.

Great location. Many walkable nearby attractions. Great for a non-car trip. (Valet parking - required - exorbitantly expensive.) Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a very quiet, comfortable room. I was upgraded to a fireplace room, which made me feel quite special. Breakfast spaces very comfortable and welcoming. I especially liked, and took good advantage of, the complimentary fizzy water. It was right next to the ice machine. Ah, heaven. And just like at home. I arrived late from Japan. Checking in at The White Swan two doors away was well-communicated, efficient, well-organized, and easy. Nothing.
- 5/5
Beautiful little inn. Staff were very nice and the room was clean and cozy. Continental breakfast served every morning. The cheese danishes were to die for. Fantastic location! 10/10 recommend! Will be staying here again.
- 5/5
I loved it! We will be back.
- 4/5
One of the chairs in our room had a broken leg that collapsed when my husband sat in it…
- 5/5
The staffs are friendly and location is great!!!
- 5/5
Very nice room with friendly staff. Loved the wine happy hour and high quality light breakfast. Great location.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast cozy rooms nice evening drinks and nibbles
- 5/5
A very cutsey, old place. It has a very vintage vibe!! Great location, I felt safe. Friendly staff. I only mention this because in looking for places, I saw many of them have shared bathrooms: this place has PRIVATE bathrooms. The basement is very cute, and has self serve hot chocolate, coffee, and tea at all times. We parked in a parking garage that was about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It was a good stay. I will say though, because the place is older, the walls are not so sound proof and my neighbor spoke quite loudly and we could hear everything lol, but not a huge deal to us though.
- 5/5
Near cable car stop and China town.
- 5/5
The style and the vibe Our stay was too short
- 5/5
I loved the open areas where you could relax outside of the room. Nice little patio, living areas, coffee areas etc
- 4/5
Room was clean, comfortable. Breakfast was ample with a fair range of options. Hotel is located near some good restaurants as well.
- 5/5
We had a great time, liked the location and the room. Staff was super friendly. I guess the experience is strongly depending on which room you’ll get. Initially we got a not so nice room, but we got immediately another one on ask, which was great!
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming! Amazing hospitality
- 5/5
Close to cable car stops and walking to Union Square/Chinatown. Breakfast satisfactory though a bit repetitive but sufficient to start the day in a nice setting. Nothing
- 5/5
We enjoyed the fireplace and the wonderful breakfast. Close to Union square and lots of shops, bars and restaurants on the street. Staff was bilingual and friendly.
- 3.5/5
Fireplace in the room! Delightfully cozy. Old San Francisco - you stay here because it is not hyper modern San Francisco executive bland.
- 4.5/5
Beautiful rooms, clean, great location, breakfast included, staff is always so nice and welcoming! The breakfast was a little lacking in options.
- 5/5
a welcome cocktail and the bartender, fireplace, lady at the reception, breakfast, all!
- 4/5
It smells like old
- 5/5
I had the most wondrous first time in San Francisco staying at this hotel! I highly recommend staying here! Staff is welcoming, breakfast was delicious, and the room was very clean. Loved every aspect of my experience here! Big thank you to Cody, Avalie, and Louis!!
- 4.5/5
I didn’t have breakfast I had to be at a meeting. I liked the cozy warm feeling of my room. The check in lash wax very friendly warm ancc sc helpful Furniture could have been touched up a bit
- 5/5
clean room, good breakfast and great location
- 5/5
The convince of location, friendly staff, clean.
- 4.5/5
The room was stuffy, musty, unventilated.
- 5/5
This B&B is very quaint and I plan to stay there annually when I attend the JPM conference! The room was very clean, the staff very courteous and the location very convenient. I enjoyed the breakfast every morning.
- 4/5
Rooms a bit dated but functional with everything needed
- 5/5
The old world atmosphere & the exceptionally friendly & helpful staff make this the San Francisco boutique hotel to which we always return.
- 3/5
No heat Said it came on afer dark but my room never got warm
- 2/5
The room and bathroom were dirty. A filthy sock, left by a previous occupant, was under the bed The shower had a dark line of dirt and mold around its base. Window shades were either damaged or broken. In addition, the walls were thin and when an alarm clock rang at 5 am in the next room and didn’t stop for 20 minutes, it woke me up.
- 5/5
The service was excellent, especially by the hotel attendant/bellhop
- 3/5
It was good, but the room was the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, well maintained, well sorted amenities. Only problem was that the orange juice over the spand of our stay started to tatse fermented and expired like they kept using the same orange juice or kept adding to the same jug. Other than that, everything was wonderful!
- 4/5
The location of the hotel was excellent. Close to Chinatown and North Beach. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was a great addition to a start of a day!
- 5/5
Everything from the time we arrived until we left. Friendly staff, added special things like nibbles and drinks in the evening, cleanliness, location...just the best place to be when visiting San Francisco.
- 4/5
Overall, I would stay here again. The price was fantastic for everything included and the staff is so kind. I just wish I would have known the hotel did not have central air before hand. Thank goodness we brought travel fans.
- 5/5
All light stuff
- 5/5
Very cozy cute place with friendly staff. I had a quiet and peaceful stay here.
- 3/5
Wine hour and snacks were perfect before watching a show. Great breakfast and area for sitting and relaxing. Room near street close to garbage cans and noisy at night and early in the morning.

First time to San Francisco. The Petite Auberge was wonderful. Located in Knob Hill. Close to the cable car stops. We were able to stroll from the hotel though China Town, North Beach and on to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. Our suite was located on the bottom floor with a balcony and fireplace. Bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. Bed was comfortable. Complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. There is a continental breakfast every morning and wine every evening next door at the White Swan. The decor is definitely eclectic and quirky. Staff are kind and helpful. There are stairs to enter both hotels which makes it tough to carry luggage and valet parking is $75 per night but I think that is the normal rate in the area. Numerous restaurants nearby. Great pizza right next door. We loved our stay and would return
- 3/5
Property has potential but needs a lot of improvement. Bed was uncomfortable and furniture is pretty worn out. We had our room next to the elevator so it was loud and disturbing. Having to go to the other property also gets a little annoying. But I must say the staff there is great. They are what made the stay worthwhile. They were attentive and accommodating. Had good tips for getting around the area.
- 5/5
We loved the convenient location. We also enjoyed breakfast and sips and nibbles every night.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel
- 5/5
The area was great close to public transportation
- 5/5
Petite Uberge was charming and unique. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese at the White Swan. The front desk people were very friendly and gave great recommendations for dinners. Your hotel helped make our stay in San Francisco wonderful.
- 5/5
We loved this place
- 5/5
The staff had wine and snacks delivered to my room that night and the next day upgraded me to a larger room with a desk (albeit for a nominal price increase.) After one night of trying to sleep on an air mattress, I found my way back. They put me in the White Swan this time, where the breakfast is so I could wander down in my slippers. It was a dream. So cozy by the fire with wine at happy hour. Breakfast is neverending pastries. I felt line Serena at the Plaza, can I just live in this hotel?? If you want a truly lovely stay, book the Auberge or their sister hotel, the White Swan.
- 5/5
Thanks
- 5/5
Comfy, easy to find, quiet and cozy.
- 4/5
Quirky and quaint
- 5/5
Fantastic stay!
- 5/5
Great little hotel near Union Square. The rooms were a little old and worn, but everything was clean, including the bathroom. The hotel also had a good amount of common areas. They also have coffee and tea 24/7 and it was decent quality.
- 5/5
Staff was exceptional . We stayed twice within a week- certainly some rooms nicer than others (our second room on second floor was really nice overlooked a courtyard) but overall would definitely recommend.
- 2/5
Bed was badly in need of replacement. Floors were squeaky and loud in the room and you could hear people upstairs and their floors squeaking as well. Was not able to sleep from the loud noises all around. Also, false adverstisement showing big spacious rooms but when we got there the room was small and looked nothing like in the pictures at all. I feel ripped off. Would not reccommend to any friends or family.
- 4/5
Walls are thin and if someone is above you, you can hear them walk, drop things, etc.
- 4/5
Staff are very friendly and the location is great.
- 5/5
I am very familiar with the area as I used to come for business years ago and always stayed on Bush St. The staff goes out of their way to ensure we are comfortable, checking to see if we need anything, extremely friendly. The happy hour with cheese and little bite were appreciated and delicious.
- 5/5
My daughter and I had an appt for her visa to study in Spain. Petite Auberge was conveniently located to the office we needed to be at in the morning. The front desk was amazing!! A huge shout out to sophisticated gentleman who helped us. I can't remember his name..sorry. He was friendly, helpful! I'd stay here again for sure.
- 3/5
The stay was generally okay, but the bed was overly soft, the carpet was sticky to the touch, and there was a strong musty, damp smell in the room.
- 4/5
Welcoming staff and cute quirky rooms—the elevator was cool!!! Staff was very helpful.
- 3/5
The property was certainly unique. Very authentic French feel. Old furniture, quirky bathrooms, etc. The downside - the rooms were very tired and didn’t smell great. Whole place needs a refurb and a good clean. However, the shower was hot and the bed was super comfortable so for a short break it was fine. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was all carbs.
- 5/5
Very cute and charming little property. We enjoyed the room, the amenities and the location. Also great price for the quality, and love the sister property for a quaint little breakfast!
- 4/5
The server guy was very nice!
- 5/5
It is a wonderful boutique hotel. Central to all of downtown. Wonderful coffee and tea bar. Evening wine and filling breakfast. We will be back.
- 1/5
no heat and they tried to tell me to wait and it would come on and finally they had to admit there was not heat!
- 5/5
This was a very nice stay, and we loved our room. We had a fireplace suite end unit (given to us as a free upgrade), and they put our friends in the room next door. It was quiet and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, really going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The rooms don’t have fridges or microwaves, but there are plenty of places to get food nearby. The lounge area downstairs is very comfortable, and the wine and snacks in the evening were a really nice touch. We didn’t have the breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
My fav place to stay in San Francisco is the Petite and sister hotel White Swan.
- 4/5
This hotel, though nice, is a bit frayed around the edges: its wallpaper is somewhat old and difficult to clean, and the window edges need painting. Some of the furniture is in poor condition. It is at the top of a hill and has several entrance steps to the hotel itself. A cable car can take you up the hill, on a schedule. The Petite Auberge is part of a two-part hotel: the White Swan sister hotel is the other part which has a more full-time desk clerk who usually tries to service both parts.) Hot water was not available when I was there. The joint hotel does provide breakfast but not the depicted French croissants--bear claws, yes. Access to the hotel is by key card once you get one. The area around the hotel is nice, being near San Francisco's main square.
- 5/5
Cute place, well-located. Who could hate a working fireplace.
- 5/5
I loved this charming spot, a refreshing change from a corporate hotel. It was cozy and warm. There are some quirks - coffee is downstairs, the elevator has an old-fashioned gate, and breakfast is at the hotel next door. It all worked well for me and was a good value.
- 4/5
The shower faucet didn’t work and I almost couldn’t take a shower. I did not have a patio or access like the room described. I loved the fireplace but the room was too hot to sleep in when the fireplace was off and the thermostat was low. I was give a half bottle of sparkling wine, warm with no ice bucket and no frig in the room. The room was cozy and sweet but I definitely expected more.
- 5/5
vey cool. very good
- 5/5
Place to visit to get a real feel for old san francisco
- 5/5
This is a phenomenal bed and breakfast with a lot of character! Our room was gorgeous, fascinating, and well appontined. The service was amazing, everyone was incredibly gracious and friendly. We enjoyed the location- tons of dining/drinking options and a quick, cheap Uber to most "top tourist spots". Overall, we're so glad we stayed here and we're already planning our next trip back. Thank you, Petite Auberge!
- 5/5
Our room was a beaking room with a fireplace. Eclectic decor that was fun snd created a relaxing environment. The bed was super comfortable nd we slept like a dream. Breakfast the next morning was equally lovely, held in the sister hotel. We have decided to make this "our place" when we venture to the city. Already planning our return.
- 5/5
I like the cozzy atmosphere, the coffe and croisants for breakfast and the Wine time in front of the fire place. Francisco was very welcoming that make us feel safe and bless to be in a place like this hotel.
- 5/5
The Petite Auberge was the perfect place to stay to explore all of San Francisco! The staff was incredibly kind, the added touches of breakfast and nightly happy hour, and a fireplace in our room was the best! Shoutout to Francisco for his hospitality and kindness. We will be back!
- 5/5
We had a really nice stay at Petite Auberge. We stayed at the petite suite and it was really nice to have the patio space to chill out after a long day. The working fireplace was really charming and kept us warm. Our room was plenty spacious for the 2 of us. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we appreciated the free breakfast options. They also have unlimited coffee and water options as well.
- 5/5
The Petite Auberge is a boutique hotel with wonderful staff and includes breakfast at it’s sister hotel next door. The hotel itself is quaint, with an old fashion elevator. Our room was a spacious, with a King sized bed and fireplace located in the Nob Hill, close to many restaurants and points of interest.
- 5/5
Charming hotel with a fabulous location.
- 3/5
Have stayed there maybe 5+ times over the years. Friendly staff, room on need of refurbishing. Going to sister hotel for wine and breakfast not as convenient.
- 5/5
Great location downtown. Beautiful hotel, unique.
- 5/5
We loved the Petite Auberge! Cozy and comfortable. The fireplace room was wonderful. Breakfast was continental but satisfying.
- 5/5
I slept great here! Plus, the staff was so polite and helpful. I really enjoyed the wine and cheese in the evenings. I think for a free breakfast having some sort of protein would be good for travelers (eggs, etc.) but otherwise loved it.
- 5/5
Staff - especially Christy and Louis - were welcoming and pleasant. The atmosphere is charming, breakfasts & wine receptions at The White Swan were fun. Great location with easy access to cable car, buses, walking distance to wonderful restaurants. Loved the fireplace king - very spacious - enjoyed the ambiance and warmth. We cancelled The Palace Hotel reservations to honor the hotel workers' strike - we're glad we did that and opted for Petite Auberge. We avoided Union Square and the strke's noisy disruptions.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Nice room, comfortable & clean:)
- 5/5
Very quaint hotel. Would recommend to stay here. Loved the happy hour.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, and the customer service impeccable. Made you feel right at home. Quaint boutique hotel with a good continental brakfast and wine and cheese early evening. Would difinately stay here again!
- 4/5
The lamp by sitting chair had a fault kept turning on and off, once I notified owner repair was organised. There were lots of tv channel but I struggled to find major news channels. It’s a charming, quaint and super friendly staffed hotel very local to cable car
- 4/5
Nice location for show at the Masonic.
- 2/5
Our primary issue was in the bathroom: not only was the sink basin not securely attached to the wall, it was not securely attached to the pedestal itself. Any weight you put on the sink basin would cause it to move away from the wall and tip on the pedestal - too much weight (leaning on the sink when brushing your teeth or rinsing your face for example) would have sent the basin toppling over onto the feet of whoever was standing there. Somehow the cleaning crew didn't notice this very obvious issue, or they/management didn't care. After informing the front desk we were told maintenance would take a look that day. We heard later that day that maintenance was unavailable and asked if we'd like to change rooms, we said yes and were told a key for our second room would be available that evening when we returned. After returning that evening, we were told there was no room and we'd have to wait until the morning. In the morning we were told we'd have to pack all our things, leave them at the front desk at normal check out time, then get our new room at normal check-in time. By this point, changing rooms wasn't worth it so we were just very careful with the sink for the last night/morning of our stay. Staff was generally not concerned with the issue and offered very limited options.
- 4/5
Charm
- 3/5
Quaint property but needs a refresh. Was quite noisy with street traffic and the really creaky floors above, and our room was right by the stairs so we got everyone thumping up and down. Staff were happy to answer questions but didn’t get the feeling they cared too much.
- 5/5
It’s an old hotel, worn around the edges, which is part of the charm. Loved having sparkly water, coffee and tea at all hours. Bed was super comfortable. A few street noises but nothing too bad. We had a fireplace room but unfortunately it was the hottest week of the year in SF so we didn’t get to enjoy the ambiance. No A/C but the windows actually open so it was fine. Will stay again!
- 4/5
This charming, cozy hotel could use a little freshening up. Otherwise a pleasant stay.
- 3/5
The room was so cute. The balcony was nice. However, there was no AC and the bed was too firm. Had to pay $69 for valet parking. Most of all, the breakfast was yogurt, toast and donuts. Not a real breakfast at all.

the property needs some upgrade in terms of the piping system..the noise emanating from the pipes when someone takes a shower is abnormal!!!!

Absolutely terrible hotel. It is so old and looks like a haunted house. You can clearly hear the conversation of our neighbors and footsteps upstairs. I can hardly fall asleep.

The breakfast is pretty basic - good oatmeal and pastries, hard boiled eggs, and toast. But not what you'd expect at most American "bed and breakfasts".

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE. Went with my wife for our anniversary and loved everything about this place. Highly recommend it. Loved the happy hour, very intimate and romantic. Loved the breakfast. Very happy with it.

Just to check the TV as that was not working

Very friendly and welcoming staff, nice evening wine and snacks, quiet, safe, and lovely restaurants all around.

The actual condition of the room was nothing like the photos; it was very dark and stifling. There were two bugs in the bathroom, and the towels were torn and old. When we tried to address the problem, the staff were unresponsive. I do not recommend this hotel.

Very quaint hotel that has a lot of charm and nice complimentary services like Wine and Cheese happy hour and breakfast.

Very nice ambiance

Absolutely charmed filled stay. More like a bed and breakfast experience. Cody the concierge was excellent. Shared a wealth of knowledge and added to the value of our stay. Loved the elevator. Just wished there was a mini fridge in the room but no biggie.

Adore this hotel. The only place I stay in San Francisco. The staff is incredible.

Excellent service, beautiful location

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were on our anniversary trip and this place was romantic with the fireplace in the room and the quaint decorations. We also loved the dining room area and the library. These are located on the property next door where continental breakfast is served. They also offered a happy hour with free wine and cheese, which we enjoyed. The overall atmosphere, the staff and the convenience of this location, made our stay a great experience.

Excellent friendly staff from front desk to room staff no matter the time of day. Louis was very helpful, polite and fun to talk to everyday.

Difficult to use ancient elevator. No heat cintrol. Bed was too soft.

This place is truly wonderful! It is very clean, quiet, with an excellent breakfast and happy hour, and the staff are very, very nice. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and kind. The location is pretty awesome too, walking and bused were easy. Can't recommend this hotel enough!

AMAZING!!! Staff was very friendly, very professional, very kind!!! I believe the staff we talked to the most were Fernando and Leo and they were great!!! Will definitely stay here again for our next San Francisco trip. Everything we wanted to do was close by and the area was nice.

There’s plenty of character here, and the breakfasts and wine and nibble evenings besides a fireplace are magical!
- 5/5
Quirky decor, super helpful and friendly staff. Free wine hour with nibbles was delightful.
- 5/5
I loved the fireplace, the blackout/coldout curtains, and how it felt disconnected from the rest of the hotel. The outer porch, and the way leading to it being outside was phenomenal.
- 5/5
The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We loved our “little” getaway, especially the fireplace in the cozy but not tiny room and the overall ambiance a d furnishings. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The only thing that could have made it better would have been softer pillows. We shall be back!

The petites furniture was old and our bed frame had broken spokes. The pillows and beds were not luxurious. Many of the older pieces should be updated. In the white swan there was the same character of a European inn but it felt cleaner and newer. The staff was excellent and the neighborhood/price perfect!
- 4/5
The staff were helpful. I was upgraded to a room with a fireplace. This did not provide much heat. One of the two bedside lights did not work at all, the other flickered in a way it wasn’t designed to.

Staff was amazing.

Lovely

The hotel was quaint and filled with character. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Would recommend for anyone staying in the San Francisco area!
