This one is tough. Convenient location, ample parking, though I missed that it was $25 per night to park there, still one of the cheapest options in the area with the parking cost though. My biggest issue with this place was my room. I was in room 116 and I am 95% certain it was a storage closet before that was converted to a room. My shower felt like it was an old mop sink at one point. I also feel like I was assigned that room because I was traveling solo and there is definitely not enough room for two people in the room I stayed in. At its widest, it was 13'x8' but the wall is angled toward the bathroom where it goes down to about 4'x5'. The bathroom was so small that I couldn't even sit straight on the toilet without my knees hitting the wall and I'm not even that tall. Looking at the fire escape plan in the room, it seems the other rooms are actual rooms and probably quite spacious but I took a tour of Alcatraz while I was in SF and I felt like my room was barely larger than one of their jail cells. If you're traveling solo and choose to stay here, just say you have two people and you'll probably get a decent sized room. I'd probably stay here again, but only if I wasn't in room 116

The outlets in the entire Appartments would not hold my phone charger except the one in the six outlet expander behind the fridge. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work at all. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.

Good location, reasonable parking, smelled clean and beds were comfortable First I arrived and staff completely ignored me saying I wanted to pay my deposit with cash. Didn't go over what he was charging my card, interacted with me enough to tell me my room number. At first room seemed ok. Until I took a shower. Absolutely the worst water pressure, would come and go. And worse was the sound, like a jack hammer was in the shower with me. And that sound continued off and on throughout the night. Could barely hear the tv over how loud it was. And definitely didn't sleep well. And then to top things off while getting dressed I noticed a cockroach on the bed I had just gotten out of. I went to tell front desk at check out and just got a oh sorry. I asked about my deposit and was informed that they don't release the funds til midnight.

Great location.
- 2/5
The advantages include only the location, - close to the Muni and BART stations, - close to the city center - The bathroom was in very poor condition; when you took a shower, the entire pipes would vibrate very loudly. - There was no cleaning or towel replacement during the entire stay (that's how I hung the sign). Even when I caught the cleaning lady and asked for a replacement towel, she took them but didn't bring new ones. - There was a lot of wind through the cracks in the doors, so they had to be sealed with something to prevent the cold and the loud noises.

1)The room was nothing like pictures. 2) Constant banging and screaming all night long. 3) Random strangers/homeless banging on doors early in the morning. 4) Room was small, everything was dilapidated and old 5) Pigeons banging the window constantly

The room was dirty, we paid for parking and we ended parking on the street parking lot full we had a handicap parking and there was people parked without one. Told hotel staff and they didn’t care

Clean room but bed was really close to the bath room/ wall. VERY inconvenient. Have to slide on the wall to get to the bathroom

Aside from sleeping with critters I didn’t bring, the broken shower rod, and a fan that actively refused to participate, it was a great visit!

Chris at the front desk was exceptional with customer service. The hotel was occupied with displaced families living in the hotel. Daily visits from Welfare and legal authorities. Screaming kids running through commons area Drug addicts running in and out of rooms and hiding in the stairs. While the rooms are non smoking the smell of Marijuana comming into my room. And as I came in late after an event I was told by security the night desk person wanted me to go to me room while I smoking a cigarette. I was in the parking lot near the stairs The room is non smoking So I went out side to smoke away from other rooms!

We checked in Friday (12/12/25) at 9pm, but, checked out Saturday (12/13/25) at 9am. Even though we had originally booked for 2 days. Expedia credited back the one day we did not stay. Thank you, Expedia. We ended up going to another hotel.

Nice place to stay, right off the freeway, close to downtown SF. Best staff interaction, especially with Chris. I made a terrible mistake in booking room. He was very very patient with me, as I tried to correct my mistake. Even assisted me with phone App, as he saw me struggle. Being elderly and disabled, I'm glad I picked SF Central! Cleaning Staff was nice and professional, provided extra blankets and coffee as requested. Definitely would stay again!

Economical. Good location.
- 4/5
No parking needed. The facility looked decent on the outside, but very dated and run down on the inside. It's a place to sleep for the night. The Becks motel/hotel in the Castro was a much better experience. Some older hotels just have that lived in look.

Location and safe We arrived after a long day of travel and the clerk said something about having given us a free upgrade. I didn’t hear the details. Turned out he traded my requested king bed to double queens with a 12 inch path to the bathroom. No upgrade at all. I was not happy and told him so the next day. No explanation.

Our room was filthy. The wifi didn’t work, the knob of the shower was broken, the shower didn’t get hot water, holes in the walls.

The stay was average. Good parking for a fee. Walkable to verity of food location.

Location and big room, coffee in the room, restroom, big bed. I had to ask for a room service twice... Some of the personel wasn't nice and supposed to really hurt with services and talking to guest (me). Noises in the night. Dark in the room.

THEY CHARGE FOR PARKING AND DONT TELL YOU!! Luckily I knew something was fishy when he wouldn’t tell me the price he just demanded I give him my credit card. I said can you let me know the price first and he ignored me. I give him the card he prints the agreement FOLDS IT IN HALF so the price wasn’t showing and proceeded to ask me to sign. I picked the paper up first flipped it over and queried why the price had been more than I anticipated. He tried to play dumb saying it’s bc of the security deposit. I said nooooo the security deposit is 100 not 97. He then said your rate is 62 dollars and I said right and I’m expecting to pay 73. He then comes clean and says PARKING IS $25. I said you should have let me know that before running my credit card. I will not be staying here tonight or any other night. I don’t like shady business practices. There should be signs posted stating what the parking fees are(if they even exist). This is the type of establishment to change the price of parking on case by case basis if you get what I’m saying basically trying to bamboozle and take advantage of out of towners. Please find a hotel where parking is free OR tell them you will park on the street and to remove the fee or tell them you got dropped off if you must stay here because I heard they charged a different customer $45 for parking!! Come at your own risk.

Could have used a microwave
- 5/5
It was basic but provided a good night’s rest. Don’t expect a 5 star, or a three star. You get what you pay for. Staff are nice but very much straight to the point. Parking is extra.
- 4/5
The front desk staff was very helpful and assisted me at my arrival. I found the room to be cleaner and in better condition than many other hotels within the same price range. I would recommend staying here again to any of my friends from out of town who need a good location in the center of the city to rest for the night and still have a few bucks to afford a decent breakfast in the morning.
- 5/5
It is completely different now. It’s family oriented and business unlike when it was
- 3/5
It is centrally located and close to homeless area. Not necessarily unsafe, but busy area. On the upside, it’s close to restaurants and the Castro District. It’s convenient and close to public transportation.

There were crackheads all up and down the hallway trying to get into my room sleeping on the floor. I had to call the front desk. They said security clear people out. The area is beautiful all around just a lot of crazy people good value for the price. I guess you’re still Room is a little bit cleaner.
- 5/5
I did find it odd, though, that only one power outlet only worked & the tv was bolted into the dresser by the bed. The tv was also in Spanish which was inconvenient, as well. Room was otherwise clean, comfortable and provided me a nice rest which is what I paid for. All in all, great stay. Thank you to sf central front desk and house keeping. $100 Cash or $100 on a debit/credit card accepted for their security deposit. Deposit is $100 for entire stay not per night.
- 4/5
It was very good experience over there

The worst hotel I have EVER stayed in my life ! The front desk was rude , unhelpful. The room was dirty : small blood stains in the sheets , the bed site lamp was broken , the A/C Heat was broken …the curtains were broken! everything was so BAD. I left after the 1st night ! And I never got a rerund!!!!!!
- 1/5
This place is a filthy dirty crime ridden property. Do not stay there under any circumstance.
- 1/5
The moment we pulled up, we knew something was off. The area felt sketchy, the kind of place that makes you keep an eye over your shoulder. But we had a reservation, so we gave it a shot—big mistake. The first room we got smacked us in the face with a strong cigarette smell and musty air, like it hadn’t been aired out in years. The floors were sticky, either from too many cleaning chemicals or something worse we didn’t want to think about. Breathing in there felt wrong. We asked for another room, hoping for at least a small improvement, but it was just as bad—same nasty smell, same uncomfortable vibe. We sat there for about 20 minutes trying to convince ourselves to stay, but the more we looked around, the clearer it became: no way were we sleeping there. Instead of wasting a night in that mess, we packed up and drove all the way back home to San Jose. This place is dirty, smelly, and just straight-up unpleasant. No deal or discount would make it worth it. If you care at all about safety and cleanliness, do yourself a favor—stay somewhere else.

Staff was helpful, area is what you’d expect near DTSF
- 3/5
Just understand where you are staying. I knew what I was paying for. Let's just say I slept with the lights on for the first time in a hotel ever.
- 1/5
If there were negative stars I would give it. Pictures of rooms were not accurate. Very rundown gross rooms in a not safe area
- 2/5
The location of the hotel is a little sketchy. Although, there were a few good food spots & bars nearby we didn't feel very safe around the area leaving our car or valuables in the hotel at all. The "suite" for 5 people located on the 2nd floor that we got was at the very corner of the hotel. The first night we got there to sleep, there was a bunch of footsteps going back & forth for hours up to the point we were so tired we didn't care or bother calling the office. The next morning, we woke up really early to get ready at 6-7am, we can hear heavy footsteps again like there was a bunch of people moving furnitures above us. We ended up calling the office 3x and they said they were going to send security to check these people up there. We waited to see if it would stop but it didn't, so I tried to call the main office again & it seemed like they blocked my calls from the room telephone from going through their office phone and would even hang up to avoid talking to me about the situation that we kept hearing the loud food steps. All in all, we were very annoyed about how loud you can hear those footsteps and beware of the total price if you booked it from online/third party so expect that extra $25 charge for parking (per night) when they ask for payment at the window. They also give you very few shower towels. With a 5-person suite, we got 3 shower towels only! Don't be deceived by the pictures, it looked just like a cheap motel and the room smelled like sweat.

- 5/5
Small room can only fit 2 people. Quiet clean-ish & got what I paid for
- 1/5
Hotel did not look anywhere as clean as the photos displayed. Shower head was broken, front door to room and bathroom door did not close properly, and the mini fridge had a leak. The leak led to our discovery of cockroaches and cockroach eggs. Once discovered, we demanded a refund and management refused. Area looked pretty unsafe at night as well. Do not recommend this hotel AT ALL.
- 1/5
They lie in the photos, the property is dirty, the windows cannot be closed, it is very unsafe to be there. The people from the floor above live there and they were very noisy in the early morning, very very bad experience.
- 1/5
I had no hot water. I contracted the front desk, they sent someone out to my room who confirmed the hot water was not working but nobody came back to address the issue nor was I offered another room. I simply left in the morning without taking a shower.

Good location. The facility was old school. Heard a LOT of screaming and yelling. It was loud
- 1/5
Did not sleep most of the night.
- 2/5
1. No breakfast, as advertised. 2. The Air conditioning/heating unit was extremely loud and not working properly. When I requested someone to look at it while I was out for the day, I returned to someone still working on it. I ended up switching rooms after talking to the front desk again. 3. Broken glass window and lock on window didn't work or were removed. 4. I left the maid service sign on my door when leaving during the day, when I returned, the sign had been placed back inside my room but my room was not serviced whatsoever. Other than that, my stay was okay for the price that I paid.
- 2/5
The front desk staff were great, no complaints. The place looks so dirty and run down that I had to place a towel on the shower floor inside the shower before taking one. There was a bit of blood near the peep hole on the door. The first room I was in had no working toilet. The second room had obvious water damage to the ceiling and the room smelled like it. When turning on the heater it smelled horrible. Curtains had not been cleaned in who knows how long. The list could go on but like I said staff were great. The room… you get what you pay for I guess.

In the early hours of the morning on the day of check-out (approximately 5:00 AM), a disruptive guest created a chaotic and unsafe environment for everyone staying at the hotel. This individual pounded on room doors, pulled the fire alarm without cause, and caused widespread panic among guests. The fire alarm incident necessitated a full inspection by the fire department, who checked each room to ensure safety. Throughout this ordeal, the hotel failed to provide proper security or staff intervention. Guests, including myself, were left to handle the situation, which should never be our responsibility. Moreover, the front desk staff offered no apology, resolution, or effort to mitigate the experience. Instead, I encountered dismissive and unprofessional behavior when I raised my concerns. This incident significantly impacted my stay. My friend and I had to work that morning and were relying on the hotel to provide a safe and restful environment, which was not delivered. Due to the disruption, I was late to work, resulting in lost commissions. Additionally, the hotel charged me a late checkout fee, despite the chaos earlier in the morning and the fact that the property was not fully booked the following night. Absolutely disgusted by the front desk team for handling this the way they did - by doing absolutely nothing.
- 1/5
The room smelled like cigarettes. Horrible smell.
- 5/5
It was very nice and quiet

What I find unique about this property is that it’s still in business, staff are shockingly rude the rooms are vile. However the plumbing is like something from Amityville horror
- 4/5
For the money and the location it's a great deal. Never had any issues, rooms clean, towels good and bedding basic but comfy.

I was initially assigned room 209 and experienced three consecutive problems with the door not opening. I was switched over to another room on the 2nd floor and upon entering the room, both neighbors next to me and above me were extremely loud, disruptive and destructive with the furniture. The room I was in has a partially broken mirror, broken night stand tables, loose power outlets & only one towel. There was also a room broken into on the same level as me.
- 3/5
Internet was not up to par.
- 2/5
The receptionist was rude.
- 5/5
Outdated but good parking
- 1/5
Look, I know you get what you pay for, but some things were pretty ridiculous. We had someone call the room, we gave it the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was the front desk but it was just 11 seconds of breathing from the other line. We had someone knock on our door multiple times during the night. We weren’t even loud, just watching Dance Moms. Pillows aren’t good. A vibrating mechanical noise was incredibly loud throughout the night and morning. Woke us up throughout the night and was so loud at 7:30 we just got up and left. We were hoping to sleep in because this was just a stop on our four person road trip. Staff were nice. Look, for the price and location, just expect this.
- 1/5
Would say that most motel 6 I’ve been to are cleaner and up to par. Amenities in the room were poor, wall outlet is super lose and the racks in the refrigerator were all rusty where cracks are located. Couldn’t check in until after 5pm, staff weren’t aware of our room being service and didn’t off any solution and we were told to wait. Wasn’t a fan of that because it was a 3 hours drive to that hotel.
- 2/5
The room didn’t look like the pictures . Broken tile, tv didn’t work, door barely worked. And then in the middle of the night someone tried to get into our room banging on the door and then proceeded to BLAST music .
- 1/5
Couldn't turn on the shower due to broken handle, some residue left on the toilet seat.
- 4/5
Parking charge.
- 1/5
Didn’t even spend the night, checked in and check out in under 30 minutes
- 1/5
The entire hotel is sketch and doesn't match the pictures. I asked the front desk lady to check out the room before I pay for parking, she refused very rudely. I would never go back there. Sketchy parking lot and smelly rooms. The room smelled terrible and was horribly kept. The floor was sticky. Absolutely worst hotel experience I have ever had.
- 1/5
I do not recommend anybody to stay at this hotel because it is false advertisement. The hotel information states there is free parking for its guest and once arriving they want to charge you $25 to park your car. They mentioned that if I did not pay the fee they would tow my car away. Additionally, there is a-lot of noise from guest next door that were screaming. There were alot of homeless in the parking lot peaking into cars & in the contract they state they are not responsible if something happens to your car parked in their property. They don’t even have a security to kick them out. The check in lady was very passive aggressive for no reason aswell & didn’t activate my keys for my room after stating she did with her eyes rolling at me. I came to San Fran to vacation and left very upset with this experience.

not clean
- 2/5
Beds smelled like pee and we’re stained. The older Asian man at the front desk is extremely rude. It was a busy weekend in SF so everywhere was sold out. There are other motels that are much nicer for the same price or even cheaper and safe.
- 4/5
The building is pretty old. You can hear what your neighbors are doing. The front deck agent were very helpful, informative and friendly. It feels like a sketchy street. Had to look behind my back a lot. A lot of convenience stores and restaurants near by. Catching public transportation isn’t an issue there.
- 5/5
Perfect stay for a Folsom weekend. Everything is nearby and rooms are decent
- 1/5
The pics on the app aren’t accurate with the real property. The room was dirty and no towels there. Plus it smells like humidity. They said the parking was included with the reservation but when you there you have to pay an extra $25 per night. The sheets had blood stains and floor were super dirty. There was a creepy sound during the night. Front desk aren’t professional enough. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.
- 1/5
Smells bad. Power points are bad/ loose
- 2/5
I only have a complain. SF Central Hotel charged an extra $25 to my credit card on September 22, 2024, without any explanation. That is only my complaint.
- 2/5
One night, at midnight, a man knocked on my door, and I told him it wasn't his room. On two occasions my keys didn't work, and I had to wait a long time to get new keys made. Most of the facility is used form low-income or homeless people.
- 1/5
I was tracked and followed back to my room by a likely fentanyl addict who tried to sneak up behind me and do gods knows what. After de-escalating the situation I immediately left the location and went to a different hotel. This hotel has no safety features to say the least which should be a concern given its location.
- 1/5
In order to get hot water the shower had to be ran for 10-15 min before, which is more than likely against California conservation laws. Strangers knocking on door at random times. Slept on top of sheets out of fear of bed bugs
- 1/5
Ni siquiera pudimos quedarnos porque había un hombre abriendo los carros nadie cuida el parqueadero y te cobran $25 y el hombre sólo nos estaba mirando desde que llegamos nos sentimos muy inseguros y nos fuimos.
- 1/5
They never let me check in
- 1/5
Terrible place terrible service. Rude service workers couldnt get any sleep because we were on the second floor but the third floor had I'm guessing kids and they were making a lot of noise. The room itself was nasty and room service didn't come once until we had to ask them to come clean. We hadn't even used the do not disturb sign. Overall would not stay here again
- 1/5
The first room they put us in was filthy and the windows did not lock
- 1/5
This property is absolutely terrible! The room door lock was broken and staff refused to give me a new room. The room smelled like someone smoked 30 packs of cigarettes right before coming in. The desks are broken inside the room. There was a tone of loitering around the property and tons of drunk men with liquor bottles laying around everywhere on the property. It looks nothing like the photos they promoted on the site!!! Shower head pressure barely even worked. Fridge didn’t work either, the other guests in the “hotel” lived there and there was tons of arguing all throughout the day and night. 0/10 recommend! Go anywhere but here.
- 2/5
Inside the room was nice, clean and comfortable. Initial service was terrible. Took at least 45 minutes to get checked in through the night window when it wasn’t even night time. Thought the night it sounded like a cart was rolling acrossed the roof. Funny thing is we were on the top floor. If they sound proof the rooms then I’ll consider coming back to this hotel.
- 3/5
Noisy as hell. People walking and talkibg right outside my room all evening and all night long till morning. Not sure whats keepi g them yp. Craas hell
- 5/5
$56 bucks for one night, on Market St. You can't beat that.
- 5/5
Everything to staff helpful and kind
- 2/5
Room was fairly clean. Not the best experience, just somewhere to sleep for the night. Not the best neighbourhood. The room next to us had someone banging on their door early in the morning.
- 2/5
The smell of the room it was bad
- 2/5
When I checked in, my room was downgraded because they are listing rooms that are not actually available online. Additionally, the photos online are for a different, nearby building, not for this hotel. Most concerning, there was NO LOCK ON THE WINDOW, which went directly out onto the parking lot and the window could be opened from the outside at any time. I tried to resolve this with Expedia's customer service team but was unable to get anywhere because the hotel team refused to take Expedia's calls. Unless you have to, do not stay here.
