I would not have stayed here but I was in a time crunch for work and had already booked and paid online. They also tricked me into paying again once I arrived. I got the charge refunded but it took multiple calls/emails and about 1 week. None of the staff seem to know how to do their job and the evening staff is exceptionally useless. The manager is extremely rude, will talk over you and not listen at all. I literally had to tell her to be quiet and just listen please without talking. I don't enjoy talking to adults that way but I felt I had no choice. I really wish I would have just slept in my car that night not just because of the bug bites I still have up my leg but, also, knowing I paid money for that experience. Feels like I've been robbed twice by these people. Luckily, I got one charge refunded. Extended stay, never again....

The location worked well for us. The bed was actually very comfortable The ENTIRE hotel needs to be renovated! Our room/kitchen area was old and dirty. Spider webs on the windows. We didn’t need to cook during our stay but the little stove top looked like it would have burned the whole room down if we did!

The whole experience with Avondale North is horrible especially with management and working appliances. Just everything about that property is bad.

Breakfast was trash couldn’t swim in the pool because they put us in the wrong building and some dude passed out in the lobby. The people that worked the front desk didn’t know anything.

I didn't like the fact that there are homeless people living in the back of the parking lot and apparently one got into the building and at 6 am in the morning the pulled the fire alarm. I wish I took pictures. I've stayed at an extended Stay America down in Santa Barbara, never a problem this was horrible.

It was ok for a one night stay, I could not se myself staying a long period of time.

The tv did not work, bathroom wall paint was peeling, staff was rude and then unhelpful. Then in the morning we found a bug in the bed.

Truly awful experience. No need to say anything more. Wouldn’t want to waste any time in doing so!! Stay somewhere else.

The room was not very clean. This was the poorest place we have stayed at. We were not familiar with the area and had booked on line thru Hotels.com so we had looked at the pictures on line and thought it would be fine but it wasnt like the pictures. They say breakfast is included. It is not. The pictures show breakfast on the go of beverages and pkg items. There was only coffee offered. So that was decieving.

Spilled some water on the floor, used a towel to wipe it up, the towel came up brown. When i got into the shower my feet turned the tub brown. The elevator did not work and to my understanding, it had not for some time. The second floor had an oder of garbage, there was s utility room stacked with full trash bags. I have pictures.

I filed two complaints online and three complaints over the phone each time. They promised that a manager would call me within 48 hours. It’s been seven days and I haven’t heard anything from the hotel at all.

The elevator has been out of service for over a month now, all the washers and dryers are out of service so you cant do launrdry here... they dont even put out a variety of the listed things they are "supposed" to have available for breakfast... hayyyyy

Disgusting. We felt icky just being there. The room was dirty, there was garbage piled just a few doors down from our room, there was a pile of bloody napkins in the elevator. No cookware, flatware or dishes in the room. We did not stay. Immediately left and went elsewhere. No refund Gross! Avoid!

the room was dirty the sheets were dirty looked like they had blood spots on them. something was leaking water on the. the shower did not drain, they didn't clean my room I called the front desk they were rude when I asked them why my room was not cleaned he said he would have them clean it in the morning so I asked for towels and he told me if I wanted them come down and get them this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at lots of shady people hanging around the outside and there were people sitting outside in their cars blasting their stereo late at night and the hotel workers didn't do anything about them. when I first went to room and saw how bad the room was I called the front desk they said they didn't have any other rooms (by the way I was suppose to get a room with a king bed instead I got a room with 2 double beds they also told me if I wasn't happy with the room I could leave but I would get a refund the place is a mess and the people that are hanging around the outside are scary plus not many lights outside don't they have security ????????????? I know nothing will ever come of this but I will tell everyone I know beware of this hotel. it also looked like some of people where renting rooms by the hour really shady place

Room had a bad odor, front desk give me odor spray and I went to the store to get air freshener. I did not stay the last day.

They gave me the last room available which never received housekeeping. The messy bed was full of hair and leaves. Bathroom had dirty towels and wash cloths scattered. They did give me a full refund…

Booking is easy, the staff go above and beyond to be of service, the hotel is a little older so for that its ok, beds are comfortable and AC works so good!

No accessible room!

The floors are filthy in the public spaces; rooms are old…no amenities of any kind; only one plastic glass; the kitchen had nothing; it was sad. There was a full laundry (part of the reason I booked the hotel) to handle a large amount of laundry from a cruise that ended a couple of days before. We were going to Monterey the next morning and wanted to get it done before we headed down.👍 When I went down to the laundry, there were no cleaning supplies available…they said they stopped providing awhile ago. I had to pressure the staff to get me some soap to use from their on site laundry, so I didn’t have to leave and find some. They were nice and did, but as I was doing the laundry, the staff came in and removed the signs that said supplies were available…and it looked like they had been there since the property opened.😵‍💫 In the old days I would call it a “no tell motel” by its appearance, and the folks in the halls. Completely not recommended it for folks to stay…😣

While the actual room was clean, with a great air conditioner and shower, the halls, stairways, and parking lot were filled with litter. The third floor smelled like dogs and was littered with lots of debris. The stairwell floor was very dirty as well.

Place was ok to sleep but nothing special about it. Still has popcorn ceiling, no coffee in room, no shampoo or lotion, no blow dryer, etc. not convenient but we were able to sleep. Pet friendly was a plus!

I enjoyed every bit of our 4 days there. The minor mention was a different type of of shower curtain and wish there was an ice machine and breatter breakfast option but over all COOL 😎 big shout out to BRYAN ❤️

Our first morning there, Mr daughter spotted roaches crawling nest the bathroom door. E were able to move rooms, which we did that morning. After running errands all day, we come back to the room for the first time to see very tiny roaches in the bathroom in our second room. I didn’t feel like moving dinner I’m pregnant and figured it must be a building thing.

I would not stay here ever again. No chair for desk. The stove heating plates were disassembled when we arrived. The sofa was broken and unusable. Stains on the ceiling. I called the front desk 4 or 5 times before I was able to speak to a human being and ask for more pillows.

My room had dead roaches and dead spiders the elevator had a stank trash bag that was left for an hour in there someone opened my door around 230 if I didn't have my latch they would been able to come in the person didn't say housekeeping or anything

Room was dirty. Gum on floor. It says there is free breakfast there was literally 1 granola bar out Smelt like cigarettes. And the whole 2nd floor smelt like trash.

It was very run-down and the rooms seemed stripped bare. I didn't even have a shower curtain when i got there. Guests have to ask at the front desk for everything. My neighbors had a party next door and were very loud. The mattress was so old that it sloped drastically to one side. "Breakfast" is a joke. I woke really early, left, and grabbed a bite at the Starbucks across the street.

This hotel decided to rerent booked rooms because a Metallica concert nearby provided higher paying clients. Along with every other client who checked in after 10:30 pm, often after long flights or drives (10h drive for us), we arrived at the hotel to find that we needed other accommodations (in a booked out town).

This is a very poor example of the Extended Stay brand. I was very disappointed. The stove did not work, there were no amenities in the room. If you wanted dishes or a coffeepot you had to go to the front desk to get them. The stairs smelled like urine and the hallways reeked of garbage. It was literally a single step up from a no-tell motel

Upon arrival room was clean. There wa sno bad odor. Linen on bed was clean and appeared washed. Towels were also clean. Air conditioner in unit. Luckily only stayed one night. Check in did take long for no real reason. Upside is free parking.

I can easily say that this was the worse hotel experience I’ve ever had! Check in took forever, we were told that they wouldn’t have a double room ready for another 45 minutes to an hour (we checked in a little after 3:30 pm). The”lobby” was full of boxes and appliances that were still in their packages, the hallway smelled dingy and dirty. When we got into the room we immediately regretted booking here! Everything there was old, dirty and damaged. The bathroom sink was full of dirty water that wouldn’t drain, the shelf under the sink was broken revealing the drywall, the single pain window was left open, there was no hand soap, dish soap, shampoo or conditioner. Several of the outlets didn’t work. We didn’t even attempt to use the stove or microwave because there was no pots, pans or plates. There wasn’t even a coffee maker! We’ve stay at several Extended Stays and have NEVER had any issues or complaints. This property was more like a motel, it appeared that most of the rooms were occupied by people who were in between homes, who were living there. The walls are paper thin and after we woke up we noticed a HUGE black spider just above one of the beds. To think that spider could have been crawling on our kids completely grosses me out! Thank god we were only in town for 1 day, anything longer than that would have made us cancel and book somewhere else.

We stayed in room 122. The room was not that clean. There was a stain on one of the window shades that looked like blood. The furniture looked old and outdated, but the biggest issue was the cockroaches. I saw one big one in the kitchen and few small baby ones in the bathroom. The fridge kept making loud noises at night which kept waking me. Would never stay here again. They need to get pest control out there ASAP.

Terrible motel. The bed was like sleeping on concrete with springs in your back. Its entire facility needs renovation. The room was non smoking but stunk like cigarettes and I could smell smoke from other rooms. Someone was grilling steak down the hall so the entire hallway smelled like beef. The room is as basic and old as it comes - don’t expect any amenities. I would never stay here again.

My 7 day stay here was horrible they did not clean our room nor changed our towels bed sheets in our room we literally had to wash them ourselves. Very poor service I do not recommend staying here

The price was reasonable, the room was nice, and there was plenty of parking. Unfortunately, the front desk wasn't adequately staffed...i waited 5 minutes before someone showed up to give me shampoo, which wasn't provided unless you ask for it at the desk. Overall, it was a good stay, but it would have been better if shampoo was provided without having to go to the front desk to get it.

Close to freeways, supermarket, and food. Property is quiet, clean, new and well kept.

Tons of noise outside until about 12am, no shampoo or the likes. Fridge was also so noisy I had to unplug it.

I really enjoyed my stay. Only thing about 201 is the air conditioning didn't work very well. I know for sure that bed had bed bugs. I have 2 small areas that I got bitten. Other than that staff was very helpful. Thanks David and romana for making it feel like home.

There were roaches in our room

We arrived late at night to find out there were no rooms available based on our reservation. We were supposed to have two beds but they only had rooms with one bed. We were offered two rooms, but I was traveling with two kids (which wasin the reservation) and could not find se that option. So we all had to squeeze into one bed because there was no other space in the room to sleep.

The key card didn't work for the 1st room (it happens). The 2nd room had trash bags everywhere like they didn't finish cleaning. The 3rd room was clean except for the bathroom where there was still feces in the toilet. The 4th room was clean finally but I soon smelled pet urine in corner. By this time I was thoroughly exhausted from driving all day and moving rooms that I just dealt with it. I would later see cockroaches crawling around. This was truly an awful experience.

Check in was awful. It took at least 10 minutes. All though there was no customers when I arrived. The clerk had to up date his computer. Which took 10 minutes. Once that was done, I received my room key. When I mention that it was taking to long it seemed to me that he slowed down.

The room had bedbugs and roaches, it was so disgusting.

My stay was terrible. The worst place to stay at. First of all, it has a kitchen but no pans, utensils, nor cups, second I had to kill a cockroach coming out of kitchen sink, third starting at around 2:30 am a resident was pounding on a wall where it made my room shake, off and on until 6:00 am. I don’t know why or what they were doing but it was ridiculous, so we left early and didn’t get our free grab and go breakfast. Awful stay

This hotell room and surrounding is not clean and nothing worked in room. I would never stay at this place or extended stay again or would I recommend this place. I think that the health department needs to go and check out this place.

The hallway to get to our room was disgusting. It had a range of horrendous smells, from body odor to stale curry. These scents lingered throughout our stay, baked into the walls and carpet. We had to hold our breath while traversing this long hall. The stinky carpet was also falling apart, creating a tripping hazard and making it difficult to roll our suitcases. Upon arrival in the room, it was in such bad condition that I decided to check the beds for bugs. Luckily I did not find any. The damage in the room ranged from dented walls, to a poorly repaired hole in the bathroom ceiling. There was water damage above the shower, and I suspect there’s mold growing inside that ceiling. They also did not provide showering amenities to wash my hair - those had to be requested separately at the front desk. Just before leaving, we opened the curtains and found out the window was actually cracked open. It was a first floor room, so I felt very unsafe when I discovered this. It’s possible there was an attempted break-in. If left open by a previous guest, then cleaners and management should have closed the windows when inspecting the room between visitors (as their advertising claims they do inspections). Also, they made check-in difficult by placing the two buildings beside each other so we didn’t know which one was the right location. Major management oversight.

I've stayed at Extended Stay America Suites before, and this location has been by far the worst. I booked this because I had great experiences at other locations and because of the complimentary breakfast, especially since I had my toddler with me while visiting family. While the place seemed a bit run down, the room was filthy. There was still someone's false lashes on the floor, debris underneath the bed and chair, and the complimentary breakfast was a joke. From 6-930am, the options were coffee, hot water, tea, maybe a couple of packets of Quaker oats, and some Nutrigrain bars. If you don't care for the complimentary breakfast and are staying for a longer period and utilizing the little kitchen, then it works, but if it's only for a few days with a family and little kids, then I do not recommend it.

Was laying in bed and a little roach was walking around the night stand. When I got out of the shower and was brushing my teeth, a roach crawled onto my foot. Getting there late at night, was very sketchy. As a female, who traveled alone and the only parking was in the back of the location and it was DARK. There were guys outside, drinking and I felt very uncomfortable and not very safe.

Property looks amazing from the outside but did not feel comfortable once inside. No amenities in the room had to call down on my personal phone to ger what was needed because phone in room wasnt even plugged it - didnt even have a cord. Free breakfast was nothing more than coffee, tea, oatmeat packets and granola bars but worse than that there were what looked like homelass people milling around in lobby. I checked out at my own expense and found another hotel. Our company now has a no stay policy for this location. Absolute worst place i have ever stayed!!!
