Beach Street Inn and Suites

It was beautiful. The whole place was well kept. The staff was attentive and kind. The pool and hot tub were awesome.

I loved everything about this place I would recommend it to anybody. The only thing was. I couldn’t find the call button when I was coming back late at night.

The hotel is conveniently located right in the middle of everything, and short walk to the Boardwalk, however, driving back to property after hours there is a gate and you have to call the front desk - we waited over ten minutes to gain access. I don’t understand why the gate doesn’t have key card access. Overall, you’re paying a lot for the location but the hotel offers very little to make it a great stay. I’d likely stay elsewhere next time.

Loved that the pool was heated, that there was a hot tub, and fire pit. The staff was very nice. The kids loved the complimentary snow cones hot chocolate and popcorn. My husband and I loved the complimentary coffee bar. All included with your stay. Location was perfect for us as well.

I was greeted by a very friendly lady during the check-in which is always a first good sign. The room was very pretty and clean. It smelled so fresh and clean - I can appreciate that. The location is awesome: so close to the beach! The cute coffee bar/ice cream shop (included in your stay) was an absolute bonus. The parking spots are limited but I did not have any issues to find a spot.

Our stay was super! Great location, friendly staff and it was very clean. So close to everything we rarely used our vehicle. Only thing that kept it from a perfect score was the fact that the toilet was loose and could have used some repair and the bathroom sink was clogged. Other than that great value. Will definitely be back!

This is our favorite place to stay in Santa Cruz. The property is beautiful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Awesome showers and toiletries. The pool and hot tub area is so fun and the outdoor couches are so comfy. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The free coffee bar, snowcones and popcorn are a definite bonus. Walking distance to the boardwalk, the pier and many restaurants. Perfect. Highly recommend. This was our third stay and we will be back as often as possible!

The room was very clean and comfortable. Had everything I needed or expected. The location was outstanding! The beach was right across a one way street that wasn't busy at all. The Boardwalk was withing walking distance and so was the pier. Plenty of restaurants to walk to. Can't wait to come back! I have bad knees and there were a lot of stairs. I just took my time and it was fine.

Great location right across from the street from the beach and wharf! Workers really nice and housekeeping great, even my dirty dishes in the sink were cleaned! Having laundry on site is awesome. Free popcorn and snow cones are icing on the cake! Great people watching from the balcony! Great places to eat in walking distance too! The Boardwalk rides and arcade are a short walk too!

Room is fine and what we expected. It's all about the location, which is great. Downside: Balcony is a shared space and people were out vaping/smoking on it even though the property says no smoking. Just closed our door.

Great place to stay, room was clean, all staff were friendly and helpful. Nice location, just across the street from beach. Many shops and restaurants in immediate area as well as a couple of little markets. Parking wasn't secure but away from and out of sight of public. Didn't use them but there was a pool and hot tub.

Location was ok. The quality of the rooms was inconsistent with how they were advertised. It was disappointing at the price point. Instead of a decent size room with a view of water, we had a small, shitty room with low quality matresses, a view of a parking lot and placed right outside the hot tub area which was very noisy while we tried to sleep.

Clean room. Staff was amazing. Right across the street from the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

Decent place to stay. The only downside to the room is the bathroom door, needs a solid door so others can’t hear you going to the bathroom….

The staff were kind and attentive, there were free sno cones available to guests. Room with a view had a beautiful, unobstructed view of the beach and a deck for people watching along the main street. Fun to see the fancy cars driving through. Waking distance to the boardwalk, beach was right across the street. So fun, great location with kids.

Beds were not that comfortable. No place to put toiletries or cloths. Kitchen could be better equipped. No comfortable place to sit. Stairs to get to and from the unit were brutal. At least 40 stairs that you have to go down with all your luggage and back up.

The balcony view , th gate closing for protection of cars and guests staying there . I liked how they have snow cones and popcorn and hot coco etc for guests . The stairs down to the balcony . The price .

Excellent all round.

The staff was nice but it was just crazy expensive and the fan was broken in the bathroom so we couldn’t get it off and it ran all night and through our stay. Loud. Phone was broken, no dial tone, just totally dead. I just don’t know where they can justify asking for the prices they are asking. Wouldn’t return or recommend. We stayed up and down the coast looking at colleges for our kiddo and didn’t pay this for any other accommodations and all were legitimately better.

We had a wonderful stay here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room 406 was on the second floor over looking the ocean and pier with no obstructions. Room was cozy and very clean with plenty of room for our family of 5. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived early, the room was not ready until 3:00pm which is nuts considering we don’t get a full day to stay and get situated before heading to the beach. The room was ok, the garbage from previous visitors were still in the garbage can which makes me think how clean is it really? The location was great, right across the street from the beach. Besides that it was an alright stay.

Just a gem of a place! The prefect location to enjoy the boardwalk and the ocean. The staff was friendly and the rooms updated, clean, and cute! Well definititely be back!

Perfect location! Nice, clean and updated room with a great view. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We were able to park there before check in and for a few hours after check out which was very helpful.

Very conveniently located near the Boardwalk, beach, and pier. They have a walk up window that provides snowcones, hot chocolate, popcorn, coffee, mochas. Huge + for the kids and me too!!

Only thing missing was coffee in the room. Especially in the suites, for the price you pay there should be coffee. But over all great place! We will be back.

Awesome location to beach, boardwalk, shopping, restaurants. Awesome beautiful ocean view room with a balcony & patio. Pretty grounds. Checked in early @ 12 for $35 more. Parking is an affordable $35 a night! Couldn’t find any front desk employees in the morning of check out. Finally gave up & left @ 10:30. Was unable to get a receipt.

The view & Balcony were Beautiful. However the room was missing a small table for a Laptop and chair but room was available. A coffee maker in the room would have been nice. Lower rooms were not wheelchair accessible.

The hotel is conveniently located near the beach, with shops and restaurants within close proximity. Parking is available for an additional fee. The Wi-Fi connection is reliable. Although the rooms are somewhat dated, they are well maintained. Overall, we had a positive experience.

Love this place! Staff is great! Place is perfect for my lady and me to unwind and see beautiful sights directly from our room.

We stayed in the none view rooms and still had amazing rooms. The hot tube was amazing after being at the beach all day. Heated pool, fire pit. Lounge chairs in front of the rooms. Coastal vibes throughout. All we needed to do for a view was step outside 😂. We will be returning

My family and I really enjoyed staying at the Beach Street Inn! The staff were friendly, the room was very clean, and the view was unbelievable. The beds were hard and staff aren't really available after 9pm, but the other qualities of this small establishment still made it worth it. We will definitely be returning!

The shower was huge and very nicely remodeled. The pool and hot tube were nice but small. The bed was true queen size but not that comfortable. Staff was wonderful and we enjoyed the free coffee, mochas, lattes, popcorn and slushies. It’s a big set of stairs to get to the beach, however it was a very short walk to the beach and warf.

The pool and hot tub DESPERATELY need to be drained and cleaned. We loved the rest of the hotel.

Although the property looks dated from the outside. The inside is clean and well maintained. Has a beautiful beachy fee with larger than usual refrigerator and huge shower. Pool area is amazing with hot tub, fire pit as well as benches and tables. On top of all that they have a coffee bar with free coffee, hot chocolate, popcorn and snow cones.

Great place to stay. Literally crossed the street to the beach and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Staff is amazingly friendly and the place is extremely clean.

The room was nice and the view was top notch. The night staff at the front desk, however, had no knowledge about the whereabouts of a plunger at 11pm. The staff said there wasn’t anyone available until the morning to address a clogged toilet. The staff suggested that we could use the bathroom in the lobby overnight if needed. This is sub-standard service for the price of the room. Sorry we won’t stay here again, nor will we recommend the hotel.

The room was beautiful. I did get a beach house suite, and it's all in all the place I was hoping for! The bed was very stiff, and I couldn't find myself to sleep on it. I did sleep in the living room bed, which I felt much more comfortable. The room experience was very nice, and was one of the best things about this location, as it didn't feel like your traditional motel. However, I wasn't satisfied with this motel. First and foremost, parking is $20. Which I'm totally okay with paying, but someone got into my vehicle overnight, ransacked my compartments, and stole some (of mine and my friends) belongings in my trunk. This made me dissatisfied with this location, because why am I paying for parking if the vehicles aren't even being guarded? There is a sign that says "This hotel does not take responsibility for damage", so beware of parking here. When I asked if they could look into the surveillance footage, they said they couldn't as a manager wasn't on site. Not even an apology, or compensation on the parking for the troubles. It truly ruined my stay at this location.

Great hotel right across from the pier. The room had amazing views of the beach and it was easy to walk over and return to the pool later.we appreciated the free coffee and popcorn as well as the laundry (important as we have been on the road for 5 weeks!). Having a kitchen in the room was also really useful, especially the microwave. The staff were helpful and responsive.

Our go to spot when we visit Santa Cruz! Been coming here for years. Great location with beautiful rooms and views. The hot tub was a little “swampy” this time around and prices keep increasing. Overall a great stay, but might need to explore other options next visit.

Awesome place good location but...... they dont have a coffe maker in the room we stayed..... crazy! I wake up to early and they open the coffee window way to late. And i like dark roast so i usually bring my coffee but nope i couldnt make it and wait till after sun up to drink coffee.

The ocean view is really nice but man il tell u the mattresses are not comfortable at all for the price of 400$ I would of liked a good nite sleep and if ur on the 1st row theres definitely a lot of road noise and homeless screaming and making noises so u can’t keep the door open to hear the ocean . But if u want ocean view its there

First time staying at Beach Street Inn, it was very comfortable and relaxing. We loved the view from our room and listening to the ocean waves crashing. Staff was very very patient as i was having trouble with my card but it finally was resolved. My only complaint would be not having a coffee pot in our room but still enjoyed the coffee from the lobby. Very peaceful and relaxing stay, our son recommended and we are thankful he did.

Amazing rooms and staff

We love Beach Street Inn and Suites! This was our second time staying—first in a poolside room with two queens, and most recently in the beach suite house, which was spacious with a stunning ocean view. The patio was a game changer, though we do wish it was fully private. Still, highly recommend! The pool is heated, the Jacuzzi is relaxing, and the fire pit area is a cozy bonus. The staff is always kind and helpful. On-site laundry may not seem like a vacation priority, but it made packing easier and returning home less stressful. Gated parking adds peace of mind—open during the day, secured at night. You can walk everywhere: the beach is steps away, and there are great coffee shops, restaurants, and the Boardwalk nearby. We only drove twice—once to Buttery Bakery (delicious desserts!) and once to Lillian’s Italian Restaurant, which was nearby and absolutely incredible. Our entire party of eight left full and happy. All in all, we can’t wait to book our next trip back here!

Was told that since we had 2 motorcycles they would not charge us $20 for parking, my final bill showed that was untrue. Our shower did not work(wouldn’t turn on) maintenance doesn’t show ip till almost check out time, no shower. Management was unwilling to reduce the price we paid for the room. Right next to the beach. Staff was super friendly. Also an amazing hot tub and heated pool. The pool didn't feel hot but maybe because it's early May. The room was beautiful with a view of the waves crashing. A bunch of restaurants close by so if you pay for the parking you can walk almost anywhere. We we definitely return and stay again

We really enjoyed the beach view from our window. Room was very nice!

I did not sleep well however, partly because the outdoor lights shone into the room all night. Shutters blocked most of the light, but light came in from up above. I did not appreciate having to pay $20 to park my car. I was disappointed that there was no breakfast provided. Gourmet coffee was available. I had a room near the pool. There are rooms available with a beach view, but those rooms require walking up and down steep stairs.

We stay here quite often and the location really works for us. Unfortunately, staying on the first floor of the Beach House was disappointing. The constant noise level from above was annoying and put a damper on our visit. It is still our overall favorite in Santa Cruz. This will be considered prior to our next booking.

If you want to walk to the beach & boardwalk this hotel is for you. Good value, very friendly staff-we will return

Located across from the Santa Cruz Wharf, we stayed in room 201 which looks directly at the beach. It has a shared lanai, and is very quiet at night, the only sounds coming from the waves as they lap the shore.

Our room was fabulous! The view as amazing! Used the balcony whenever we were in our room! Always wanted to reserve the room with the view and now we need it everytime

The window in the entry door lets in light to the bedroom and the bathroom fan is always on otherwise staff were very helpful and the location is excellent.

If you're looking for a quiet, romantic spot, this is not the place. Lots of noise from kids running around and taking over the pool space. I would definitely stay here again though.

Rooms were fine. Kids were playing in the pool loudly at all hours. (7 a.m. up thru 10 p.m.) Homeless people all along the block where this hotel is located.

The location was perfect for our 1 night away. Easy to walk to the boardwalk and the shopping area. Oceanview room had 2 cute chairs to sit out in the front and enjoy the room. Will be coming back!
